    The voice of reason inside raged, pleading for him to stop and cease this destruction.

    Soraia waited, her lip quivering as the ash floated across her face, golden hair tousling in the wind while a slow stream of tears cleared their path down her soot-stained cheeks.

    He couldn't stomach the sight nor the pain of her answer. Without a word, he opened the door to the Crimson Palace, giving her his back and letting it slam in her face.

    After helping Astarion ascend, Soraia lost the one she once loved when she refused to be his spawn.
    Months later, fate brings them back together. Astarion is the Vampire Ascendant, powerful and unholy. And he wants her back.
