When jealousy becomes hatred

Summary:

They don’t understand what a Cookie like them is capable of, no one does. Not even Cyborg is aware of how powerful they are.

As one would say, with great power comes great responsibility. Unfortunately, they don’t use it as they should.

Notes:

Hey gang first time posting on AO3 in over a year!!! Sorry for disappearing, was more focused on art and animation. Speaking of which, I do have art for this fic in the works, I’ll add them when they are finished! Enjoy! :3

Chapter 1: The calm before the storm

Chapter Text

Cyborg missed being like a normal Cookie, fitting right in with society. They couldn’t do the things they loved anymore without getting weird looks, it made Cyborg feel unwanted. They had Ion Cookie Robot, Bell Pepper Cookie and Aloe Cookie there to support them and stand up for them, but the way how they were being treated made them upset. One day, Cyborg Cookie was going for a walk with Aloe Cookie to get their mind off of everything, that was until Cyborg noticed a small group of friends inside a nearby sandwich shop. One of the Cookies has glasses too big for his face with a comic book, one of them has a ponytail and goggles, one constantly being on her phone and looked tired, while another one looked like they worked at the shop. All Cyborg could do was stare through the store window, they missed talking to other Cookies without them trying to avoid them. Aloe Cookie would stop walking and turn around, as she then observed Cyborg looking through the window.

“Is everything okay there, Cyborg?” “Just seeing all these Cookies talk together, it makes me miss the days when people would actually include me in conversations and not just label me as a freak or give me weird looks.” Cyborg Cookie explained to Aloe, even looking down at the ground to avoid eye contact as they were about to cry. “Oh Cyborg. I’m sorry you feel this way. But take my advice, you just have to push yourself out there whenever you want to talk to others. If anyone has any problems with you before they even meet you, then you shouldn’t let them get to your head and don’t be afraid to be yourself.” Aloe Cookie said to Cyborg, feeling sympathetic towards them. She was willing to hear them out, especially since Aloe was always so supportive of Cyborg way before the accident had taken their life. Cyborg was glad to have Aloe by their side as a friend who will defend them at any chance. As the two were about to go in for a hug, they both stopped in their tracks as Aloe Cookie’s stomach began to growl loudly. She was starting to get hungry. “Hey, at least we’re already somewhere that you can eat!” Cyborg said as they chuckled, gesturing towards the doors of the sandwich shop they were conveniently standing in front of! “Huh, I never noticed that. Well played Cyborg.” Aloe Cookie opened the door and walked into the building, she stopped as her attention turned to Cyborg Cookie, who wasn’t following her inside and was staying outside. They tried to nervously take a step inside until the door hit them in the face and knocked them onto their back. Aloe groaned when she saw her friend hit the floor, she slowly approached the door and held it open for Cyborg. “Hey, remember what I told you earlier.” Aloe said. “You just have to push yourself out there, I know it’s scary but I believe in you.” She reached her hand out for Cyborg Cookie. Cyborg, who was dazed from the impact, looked up at Aloe and grabbed her hand. Aloe Cookie would then help up them walk inside. “How’d you know I was feeling that way?” “Well, you did tell me all that stuff outside. So I simply just guessed.” Cyborg Cookie smiled, they didn’t know what to expect from being in a place like this, but they were happy to have Aloe Cookie with them. They felt like Jack and Jill, minus the falling down the hill. A power duo. Someone who they can go to for comfort. Suddenly, Cyborg is seated to a table? They must’ve not been paying attention while walking with Aloe. “Now, you stay here and get some rest while I go order. Got it?” Aloe Cookie said with a warm smile, but she did sound like she was being serious. Cyborg Cookie, beginning to snap back to reality after hearing her voice looked around confused. They must’ve really hit their head that hard… “Oh! OH! Um… Yeah! I understand PLENTY!” They said with a nervous grin. “Great! I’ll be right back!” Aloe Cookie says as she walks into line, waiting for her turn to order. Cyborg Cookie let out a heavy sigh, being there alone made them feel uneasy, but they knew that Aloe Cookie was close by in line.

They had the feeling that they could stick out like a sore thumb compared to the other Cookies there, but all they could do was wait for Aloe to return so that they could get out of there as quickly as possible because Cyborg didn’t want to be judged and discriminated by other Cookies OR EVEN-

“Uh, hello?” Suddenly, a voice.

Cyborg Cookie slowly turned around to see a group of 3 Cookies standing right in front of their table. They actually looked like they were happy to see someone like Cyborg? This felt different to them. “Oh, hello.” They replied to one of the Cookies. “What are you three doing here?” The robotic Cookie had asked. One of the three Cookies took a sharp inhale with an excited smile on his face. “3… 2… 1…” Another one of the Cookies counted down jokingly while holding up her phone. “DO THESE BOOSTERS ON YOUR FEET ACTUALLY WORK? DOES THE VISOR FUNCTION AS A LIGHT SOURCE? ARE YOU ABLE TO SEE OUT OF THAT? WHERE DID YOU GET THE ARM CANNON FROM? IS THIS SOME COOL ARMOR THAT WAS BUILT? HOW DID YOU MAKE IT? WHO MADE IT? TELL ME ANYTHING!”

The Cookie just kept one asking questions and questions about Cyborg, holding out his notebook ready to write anything down. It made them overwhelmed. “Alright, that’s enough Caramel Cookie.” Another Cookie in the group said, calming down the nerdy Cookie. “…Right. I’m so sorry. I just like learning new techniques on how to improve my technology.” He said as he readjusted his glasses with his demeanor quickly changing to an embarrassed one. “I’m Caramel Cookie.” He introduced himself to Cyborg. “This is Pizza Cookie.” Caramel Cookie said, gesturing towards Pizza Cookie. “Yo.” She said, looking back and forth from her phone and at other Cookies. It didn’t look like she cared that much.“And that’s Croissant Cookie!” Caramel introduced her. “Hello there!” Croissant Cookie waved with a smile. “I’m so sorry if we startled you at first, Caramel was just so excited to see someone… or something with so much advanced technology here. But I try to keep him calm when asking other engineers questions so that he doesn’t freak people out by accident!” She said as she laughed. Seeing the group made Cyborg feel at ease somehow, they were the first Cookies aside from Bell Pepper and Aloe who made them feel welcome. “Oh, uh. No worries. I wasn’t that scared at all.” Cyborg replied with a smile. They didn’t want to tell them about how they were some of the first Cookies that they had a positive experience with because they knew that it was weird to begin venting to Cookies that they had just met. “I was just waiting here for someone to finish ordering.” Said Cyborg Cookie, slowly turning away as they were looking in Aloe Cookie’s direction. It’s clear as day that Cyborg was trying to get out of this conversation, since they had no idea what was going to happen next. The three of them looks in the same direction as Cyborg. Caramel Cookie began to connect the dots, looking back and forth between Cyborg and Aloe. “YOU’RE WITH ALOE COOKIE? I read her book! It’s what inspired me to get into robotics!” He exclaimed as his eyes lit up. All Cyborg Cookie could do in response was let out a few embarrassed squeals, as they blushed with a faint pink tint on their body accompanied by steam coming out of their ears.

“It’s true.” Pizza Cookie replied. “I’ve seen the kind of work that she does, Caramel talks about her a lot.” She said as she was texting on her phone. Croissant Cookie got concerned as she noticed Cyborg’s reaction. “Are you okay? You don’t look so good.” The steam that had come from Cyborg Cookie’s ears was sucked back into their head. “What makes you think that?” They asked as they let out an awkward smile. “…Nevermind then.” Croissant Cookie said, letting out a sigh afterwards. Aloe Cookie would leave the line and approach the table to wait for her food and sat down. “Hi again Cyborg Cookie!” She said with a smile. “Oh! Hi Aloe Cookie!” Cyborg Cookie greeted their spouse with a smile. “Oh? Who are these? They aren’t causing you any problems, aren’t you all?” Aloe asked. It was important for her to make sure that Cyborg Cookie was safe from any harm, especially if it was other Cookies. “Oh no!” Croissant replied. “We’re just here because my friend, Caramel Cookie was very amazed to see a real robot here, and so am I! Pizza didn’t even want to come but it took a lot of convincing.” She said as she glanced over at Pizza Cookie, who was starting to fall asleep. Caramel shook her in order to wake Pizza up. “HUH? Wha? What happened?” An awoken Pizza Cookie asked, rapidly looking around. “But you should give yourself a pat on the back for creating such advanced technology!” Croissant Cookie added to her praises with a smile. “Oh! Heh heh, thanks!” Aloe laughed with a bashful expression. “Well the reason I created Cyborg Cookie is complicated at best and-” She stopped herself for a moment, looking at Cyborg’s direction. Extremely hesitant to say anything about it.“-And it’s personal…” Aloe Cookie says as she was beginning to sweat and avoiding eye contact. “However, I don’t feel comfortable getting into details about what exactly happened.” Aloe continued. “That’s perfectly fine! Do whatever makes you happy, but I’m sorry about what happened.” Caramel says. Cyborg’s hair perked up, they had never heard another Cookie be empathetic towards them before. It’s usually Aloe who was more concerned about them. This is new. “Oh! Thank you!” Aloe replied to Caramel. As the others continued to talk, Cyborg sat there in silence, a smile slowly forming on their face. This was a new feeling to them. Were they actually enjoying their company? Unfortunately they knew this feeling wasn’t going to last forever, so they would enjoy while they still can. As time passed, the group of three would eventually leave the shop, with Aloe and Cyborg following soon after. As they both walked down streets on their way home, things went back to how they were before, with other Cookies saying hateful things directed towards Cyborg, and Aloe defending them. It didn’t help much that they would pass a store as well, a store selling figurines, comic books, bikes and other memorabilia. And the Cookie who all of those merchandise made Cyborg’s oily blood boil. It was a Cookie who was made entirely out of caramel, with a mint engine on its chest with a somewhat robotic appearance. Why was there another robotic Cookie receiving praise while the other is deemed an outcast?! They were in disbelief. They didn’t want to admit it but they were jealous.

Cyborg would look at the display through the store’s window and read the cover of the comic. “Hero Cookie? Psh… what has this guy actually done to deserve a name like that?” They sarcastically remarked. “Am I right, Aloe?” No response. “Aloe Cookie?” They would look around only to see that Aloe was way ahead of them. “Wh- HEY! Wait for me!” They flew towards Aloe, catching up to her. Aloe would stop in her tracks when she noticed Cyborg wasn’t with her anymore, only to turn around and collide with the speeding Cyborg who unfortunately couldn’t stop in time.

They would both tumble onto the ground, with one laying on top of the other, stars and birds flying overhead with chirping being heard. Aloe and Cyborg would then both weakly get up and shake their heads with the objects above them disappearing, albeit still a bit dazed but not as much as before. Aloe Cookie would turn around to face Cyborg Cookie. “Oh, there you are Cyborg. What the heck was that about?” Aloe asked them. “Sorry for falling behind Aloe, I was trying to catch up with you but I couldn’t stop in time!” Cyborg explained. Aloe Cookie would sit down on a nearby bench, to prevent herself from falling over as she was still feeling weak from the collision. “I see then, well where were you?” Cyborg would then point in the direction of the store they were looking at. Aloe Cookie would raise an eyebrow. “A store? I thought you didn’t bring your money with you?” She asked. “What? No! Just come with me.” Cyborg said, grabbing Aloe by the arm and leading her to the store.

After taking some time to retrace their steps, Cyborg would show Aloe the Hero Cookie display in the store window. “Look at this Aloe, LOOK AT THIS!! Why is it fair that Cookies get to put this robotic superhero wannabe on a pedestal while I’m treated like garbage?!” They shouted. “Maybe it’s because this Cookie has done stuff to help out around here? But I know you’ve done some good.” Aloe said, reassuring her spouse. “Thanks Aloe.” “Anytime, now let’s go back to the lab. It’s getting late.” Aloe would lead the way for Cyborg, but they couldn’t stop looking at that display. Surely a Cookie like this so-called Hero Cookie wasn’t that great, right? They knew they could do better than him anyway, what was this feeling of Cyborg’s? Boiling up to their metallic brain, and refusing to leave. Jealousy? No, couldn’t be. They knew they were jealous of all the attention and praise this Cookie was getting while they were just swept aside and hated. Whatever it was, they didn’t like it and began to follow Aloe’s footsteps.

After arriving back at the lab, the Ion Cookie Robots would rush over to the both of them, welcoming them back to their home. “Woah woah! Calm down everyone! We were only gone for 4 hours!” Aloe would respond to the Ions. “I’m happy to see you all too.” She said with a smile. As Aloe Cookie was talking with the Ion Cookie Robots and greeting them, Cyborg Cookie would go to their room, still having a lot on their mind. They sat down on their bed, hugging one of their plushies as a way to comfort themself. It didn’t work as those images of those same Cookies they met at the Sandwich Shop and the same Hero Cookie store display flashing in their head. “Damn it…” Cyborg said under their breath. “I feel weird…. WHAT IS GOING ON WITH ME?!” They complained. “I should just sleep.” Cyborg Cookie sighed, climbed into bed, and shut their eyes, peacefully drifting off into sleep. Time would pass by for a few hours, and Cyborg was still asleep. Until… a knock is heard at their door, startling them awake.

“Coming….” Cyborg would weakly get out of bed, slumped over. As they were getting up, they realized they forgot to plug themselves in to charge during their nap. That sure could explain their exhaustion. Another knock was heard at their bedroom door. “Hang on a minute…!” Cyborg would finally approach the door, opening it up. Their eyes would widen as they saw their partner, Aloe Cookie standing in front of them.

“Is this about that collision from earlier? I said I was sorry.” Cyborg snarked. The battery draining during their nap must’ve caused a change in attitude. “Oh no, not at all. I just look back at it now and just laugh it off. Heh heh.” Aloe chuckled, attempting to reassure Cyborg with her words. “I’m just here because you ran off while I was with the Ion Cookie Robots, and normally you’d be enthusiastic about seeing them! I’m worried about you, and I’m not the only one who is.” “Oh yeah, who else…?” Cyborg retorts, trying their hardest to stand up. “Well firstly, there’s me. And there’s also the Ion Cookie Robots. We’re all here for you.” Aloe said, attempting to comfort her partner. “Psh… yeah everyone’s here for me… including those fuckers who HATE ME!! Why would anyone care about me!? Everyone hates me!” Cyborg shouted, oily tears leaking out from their visor. “Cyborg…” Aloe gasped, her hand slowly covering her mouth. “I’m sorry you feel hurt… you don’t deserve any of this. I see you and I love you.” Aloe reached in for a hug, Cyborg’s lips quivering, cries turning into sobs. They leaned in against their partner’s shoulder, slowly raising their arms up to hug her back, albeit a bit tighter than the average person.

They both stood in silence, hugging each other, with only Cyborg’s sobs being heard. “You know you can talk to me if you need someone to talk to. I’ll listen.” Aloe said, releasing Cyborg from her arms. Cyborg nodded in response, all without saying a word. “Good. Let me know if you need anything.” Aloe would then walk away, deciding it would be best to give her partner some space. She was a bit worried about the idea of leaving Cyborg alone, but she’d reassure herself that this was the right call.

Unfortunately, Cyborg was still not doing well. Talking with Aloe did help some but they still felt scared, unsure of what’s to come. The same images of the group of Cookies from the shop and the Hero Cookie display would appear nonstop in their head. Several voices repeating in their head, some good, some bad.

Oil spilling out from underneath their visor, sobbing loudly. They looked at their oily tears and they hated it. Their vision and voice would get more and more glitchy, it was disorienting. Not only were they scared, they were horrified. There are voices calling for them, some friendly, some aggressive. What is going on? WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!

Suddenly, they would collapse onto the floor, all of their senses shutting down at once. There was nothing but black around them. Their visor turned a solid black, shutting down. They sat there for a long time, unconscious.

Suddenly, the door to their bedroom is open. They are being carried out by the Ion Cookie Robots and brought into another room, a laboratory if you will. Cyborg was then sat onto a table, plugged in to a nearby outlet so they can charge. They had no battery left, they need to recharge. The clicking of a keyboard is then heard, along with some mumbling from the one sat down at a desk. Cyborg’s eyes would reappear on the visor and slowly open.

“Aloe Cookie…?” They called out. “Oh! You’re finally awake!” Aloe said as her chair turned to face her partner. “I received a warning for abnormal amounts of glitches. So while you were still unconscious and recharging, I ran a diagnostic on you. Every appears normal so it might’ve just been stress.” The Cookie would continue to ramble and ramble, Cyborg knew what Aloe was doing was out of care and compassion but they didn’t like hearing any of these words. ‘Diagnostic, system, glitches.’ It made them feel less like a Cookie and more a robot. Aloe would stop her rambling when she noticed that Cyborg still unhappy. “Is everything okay?” She asked them. “I don’t want to talk about it.” Cyborg said with a sigh. “How come?” Aloe asked. “I just have too much on my mind…” Cyborg would turn their head around to face the opposite direction of Aloe. “I see…” Aloe got up from her chair and approached Cyborg. “You don’t have to tell me what’s happening. Do whatever makes you comfortable, but whatever it is, I will never leave your side and we can face it head on together.” She said, gently placing her hand on their shoulder.

This made Cyborg let out a small smile, tears slowly falling. “Can you spend the day with me? I may need the company.” They asked her. “Well it is late right now, how about we pull an all nighter instead?” Aloe suggested. “That would be great…!” They tearfully said. Aloe would then unplug Cyborg, allowing them to properly move around. “Great! Let’s do it in my room though.” “Okay!” Her and Cyborg would both go in Aloe Cookie’s room, sitting in bed doing all sorts of stuff, reading, talking, watching television, so much more. Well it did make Cyborg feel more comfortable with themselves and a lot happier, they still couldn’t forget about the meeting with those Cookies from the day before, along with the store display of this so-called Hero Cookie. Aloe really did care about them and didn’t want anything bad to happen to them, besides, that accident ruined the both of them and anymore harm, physically or emotionally would make things so much worse. They promised each other that they’d never leave their side, hopefully it’ll stay like that right? Right?! It was supposed to stay like that, until Cyborg Cookie got an idea, an awful, awful idea.

Chapter Text

It was now morning, the two had stayed up all night that they lost track of time and enjoying each other’s company. Both of them were asleep in Aloe’s bed, peacefully adrift in their dreams. Well that was except for Cyborg Cookie, they had already gotten up early, let alone barely slept that night. There were far too much going on in their head. All of it that was draining to them, sure it did help a little to spend time with Aloe Cookie but they still couldn’t help but feel dismayed. They didn’t do anything wrong to warrant such hatred towards them, right? Cyborg eventually decided to leave the lab to their mind off of everything, they grabbed a sticky note and wrote on it as a way to letting their partner know that they were away.

“It’ll only be for a little while.” They quietly whispered to themselves as they were attempting to leave Aloe’s room, slowly walking to avoid the sound of their metallic shoes from waking her up. Aloe would eventually wake up on her own, reading the note that Cyborg left and let out a sigh of relief, happy that nothing happened to them. Aloe would also get ready for the day, but not without remembering something important she had to do.“I’m supposed to be meeting up with Dr. Wasabi today! How could I forget something as serious as that?” She said to herself. “Well, it is a relief that I got ready as fast as I did.” Just as she rushed over to the front door, her attention was then diverted to Bell Pepper Cookie and one of her Ion Robots. “Bell Pepper? I have an important meeting today with Dr. Wasabi, do you want to come?” “Sure! I mean my stuff is a lot cooler and less dangerous but it wouldn’t hurt talking to another scientist, because I am the best scientist here!” Bell Pepper bragged. “Of course you are my little scientist.” Aloe said, playfully pinching the young Cookie’s cheeks.

“STOP! This is embarrassing! Besides I’m way too old for this anyway!” Bell Pepper said as he forcefully removed Aloe’s hand from his face. Aloe chuckled in acknowledgment. “Right, my apologies. Now Ion Cookie Robot, can you please keep an eye out for Cyborg Cookie? I want to make sure they arrive safely.” “Creator request. Search for Cookie. Downloading… command accepted.” “Great.” Aloe says with a grateful smile. “We will have to leave now, or else we’d be late.” She says, grabbing Bell Pepper’s attention. “Alright, fine.” The both of them would walk out the door, with Ion waving to them as the two scientists left.

As for Cyborg, they were lost in their mind, completely ignoring the hateful messages thrown to them. They knew that this was going to happen and they hated it. But then something happened, they passed that some store display that has haunted them. The Hero Cookie merchandise and comics, it all felt familiar.

They knew that it hurt just seeing that display, a robotic Cookie loved by a bunch of Cookies while Cyborg was just tossed aside. But surely this was just a fictional character? That’s what they hoped at least, nonetheless, if this Cookie was real, they had to learn more about him. They went inside the store and thought about asking the store owner about this so-called Cookie. “Hey you! Tell me everything I need to know about this Hero Cookie.” “Oh! You want to start reading the series! Well-“ The store owner rambled and rambled, Cyborg zoned out some during this conversation, there was way too much to process. None of this was what they were looking for at all. “Stop stop STOP!! I only meant about whether or not this guy is a real person, not your life story. Jeez!” “You don’t have to be rude about it… besides you’re the one who asked about him.” The store owner snarked at Cyborg. “Plus, everyone knows who Hero Cookie is! He drops by my store often to meet fans!” Suddenly a light bulb appeared in Cyborg’s head, a smile forming across their face.

“Well then, I would like to buy every single comic that you have here!” They asked. “Great, that’ll be 200 crystals.” Cyborg felt around for their wallet, opening it up and counting the crystals inside. “I’m afraid I’m short. Do you accept coins?” “No.” “Of course you don’t… just give me the first issue…” Cyborg said, slamming their head against the counter in disappointment. “That’s 5 crystals.” Cyborg nodded and gave the owner their money. Afterwards Cyborg would return to the lab, sitting down on the couch reading their new comic. Besides, they had to learn about this Cookie somehow. Ion Cookie Robot approaches Cyborg Cookie, completing the task that Aloe gave it. “Cookie returns. Robot’s task complete. Hooray. Hooray.” “Can’t talk right now Ion, I’m in the middle of something important…!” Cyborg kept on reading, and reading, and reading. Doing what they could to understand what’s going on with this Cookie.

Meanwhile, Aloe Cookie and Bell Pepper Cookie just finishing up their meeting with Dr. Wasabi. “So that was an interesting experiment, but let’s never discuss this again.” Aloe said. “What are you talking about? Octo Wasabi is fine! Hehe!” Dr. Wasabi said. “You made it grow bigger and it tried to attack us!!” Bell Pepper shouted. “I’d still consider that a success! Well it was great seeing you here Aloe Cookie! Along with your cute little assistant!”

“Assistant?! I’m no assistant! I’m a future scientist, and I will be the greatest one out there!” Bell Pepper retaliated. “Aw.. well if you dream big enough it might as well happen!” Dr. Wasabi smiled. “We’ll see you next week Dr. Wasabi!” Aloe said, waving at Dr. Wasabi as she walked out the door with Bell Pepper. It took a while for them to walk back to the lab, but it was rewarding to rest after a long meeting. As soon as both of them walked through the door, they were greeted by the Ion Cookie Robots. “Woah! Hello everyone. I’d love to talk but I need to rest after that meeting.” Aloe says. “Not me! I’m going to work on repairing my Pepperbot.” Bell Pepper ran out of the crowd of Ions, headed to the main laboratory. “You go have fun now, Bell Pepper.” Aloe said to the young cookie with a smile. Just like with the young Cookie, Aloe would make her way out of the crowd of Ions. Aloe Cookie would then notice Cyborg Cookie still reading on the couch. “Hey Cyborg, I’m back.” She greeted them. “What are you reading?” Aloe questioned Cyborg.

“It’s a comic book, nothing too fancy.” “I thought you don’t like comics?” Aloe says as she tilted her head in curiosity. “I’m just trying things out. But that’s not important!” Cyborg jolted up the couch. “The important thing is, I think I made a breakthrough.” Cyborg says to Aloe. She lets out an enthusiastic smile in response. “That’s great news! Tell me all about it!” Cyborg would sit Aloe down on the couch, shoving the comic in her face. “So you remember that store display that I showed ya, right?”

Aloe would then remove the comic from her face and inspect it. “I vaguely recall, is this why you bought this comic?” She asked Cyborg. “Well sort of but I’m getting there.” Cyborg said in acknowledgment. “I fail to understand what this has to do with your breakthrough so far.” Aloe said with a confused expression. “Oh, okay… well to make a long story short, turns out I feel really jealous about this Hero Cookie fella and want to be respected like him! I’ve done plenty of research on this guy by going BACK to that same store and bought a comic to learn everything about him so… what’s the best way to gain respect in a short amount of time?” Aloe raised an eyebrow at her partner. Something about this didn’t feel right.

She would then brush those concerns of her’s to the back of her head and think of an answer to Cyborg’s question. “Throw some litter into the recycling bin?” “HA! Absolutely not!” Cyborg replied. “It’s to be a villain! All that fear is a good way to show respect!”

Did she hear this right? A villain? Aloe knew that Cyborg was doing poorly but not this bad! “Am I on one of those prank shows? I’m certain that’s not the case because I don’t see any cameras! You can’t be a villain Cyborg! Listen, I know you’re going through a lot because of other Cookies saying harmful words towards, but this isn’t the way about handling this, it’ll just give other Cookies more of a reason to be hateful.” Cyborg activated their boosters, slightly hovering over Aloe to reach her height. “Exactly!” They said as they would let out a small laugh. “No! You’re not listening to my point, you can’t be a villain! You’re a good friend and you’ve always been nice to others, even before that incident. You can’t let what you’re going through change your perspective on yourself.”

Cyborg’s expression would change to a more sad one, avoiding eye contact with Aloe as tears were beginning to slowly leak out from their visor, acting as tears. “You’re right Aloe, I’m sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking with this…” “Listen, I understand you’re jealous of another robotic cookie getting all the attention and that can be tough when taking into account all the bigotry you’ve been exposed to. But never forget this, you’re absolutely everything to me and I want you to know that there are people who care for you.” Aloe said as she wiped away one of Cyborg’s tears.

All Cyborg could do was stare, lowering themself to ground level. “Do…” They stopped themselves for a second. “Do you really mean that?” “Of course I do, you’re no villain Cyborg, you’re my hero.” Aloe reaches in for a hug, attempting to calm her friend down. Cyborg would stand in silence, absorbing all the affection that came their way, after all they were desperate for it at this rate. Time would pass by, it was late at night now. Cyborg hadn’t gotten any sleep at all since that conversation ended. They knew inside they weren’t a bad Cookie but at the same time, they wanted anyone and everyone who wronged them to pay. All they could do was lie in bed as they were at war with themselves. They felt completely helpless and afraid. “Oh god… what do I do…?”
