Work Text:

A dark figure darts between shadows, barely visible to the naked eye. The shadow pauses in a dark corner, a smile overcoming his face as he pulls a large gem out of his pocket. He cannot help but admire it, its many different facets reflecting in the sliver of moonlight coming from the window. Everyone told him it was impossible, but he proved them wrong– he, Min Yoongi, stole the Gem of Souls from the Commander of the Bich Army.

Pocketing the gem, Yoongi eyes dart around making sure the coast is clear before setting off down the hall again, moving along the shadows. Yoongi is a hired rogue, a poison fairy, in the Eoduun Military, known for his skills of blending into the darkness and not getting caught. He’s already made quite a name for himself, and now he will be secured for life with this little con.

Yoongi’s dark wings flutter behind him as he propels himself forward. But just as he reaches the escape point, he is pulled back violently. He pushes his wings harder, trying to get away, but feels bonds snap around his wrists and ankles, holding him effectively in place. He shuts his eyes as all the lamps in the room suddenly flicker to life. Yoongi closes his eyes against the bright assault.

“So, what do we have here?” Yoongi hears footsteps approaching him. “Well if it isn’t the famed rogue– Suga is it? Of the Eoduun Military?” He hears a mocking chuckle as the figure finally comes into his line of sight. A shiver runs down his body as he realizes who it is.

The Commander of the Bich Army was not supposed to be here. His intel told him she was supposed to be over on the southern front– not here! Commander Choi was a ruthless, coldhearted individual known as The Decimater, she did not leave behind any survivors. No one wanted to get captured in her nest.

Yoongi struggles against his bonds as Command Choi takes a step closer to him. Her cold eyes narrowed into slits. “You really thought you could steal from me and I wouldn’t notice? I knew you were here as soon as you stepped foot into my home. I let you get as far as you did because I wanted to know what the Eoduun Military was after.” She reaches her hand into his pocket and pulls out the Gem of Souls, a sinister smile crossing over her face. “I will be keeping this.” She pockets the gem before reaching her hand out and mockingly patting Yoongi’s cheek, “And you tried so hard too.” Commander Choi snaps her fingers and Yoongi is spun around, until his back is now facing the Commander.

A cold chill goes down his spine and he struggles against the bonds again. But it was to no avail, the Commander’s magic was not to be trifled with, but still he had to try.

“Struggle all you want, it’s not going to help.” A cold hand settles above his wings. “There is no one here to hear you scream.”

And she was right, there was no one. Yoongi screamed and screamed until his voice went hoarse. He never felt pain like that before, at some point he screamed until he passed out.

Now the cold air hits his face, causing him to groan as he tries to open his eyes– but they won’t budge. Yoongi can feel himself dangling from his arms as he is carried through the air, all his nerve endings are on fire. He vaguely hears, “We should just dump him here,” before he is falling through the air— so this is how he dies? This is the end?

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Wh..what is that smell? Yoongi slowly blinks his eyes open as the shapes before him come into focus. Where am I? Before him is a small fire with a cooking pot– that explains the smell. But it doesn’t explain where he is at all.

Yoongi goes to push himself up on his forearms but the movement causes him to cry out in pain. His back feels like it is on fire.

“Oh! You are awake! Don’t try to move, your back is still healing.”

Healing? And who is talking to him? Where is he? Then it’s like he is hit by a landmine as the memories begin to assault him. And then the pain– so much pain. His wings! Why can’t he feel his wings? He tries again and again to get them to move but he cannot feel them! Where are they?!

“Hey–” A hand grips his shoulder, Yoongi tries to pull himself away from the hand but it just causes him to cry out in pain again. “Oh– I need to put you back out, your body needs more time to recover.”

A soothing warmth fills him as the pain starts to lessen, his eyes drifting shut. The last thought in his head is, wow such a pretty voice.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

When Yoongi comes too, the pain in his back is still there but his head has started to feel more clear. He feels a hand on his shoulder, and that warmth fills him once again as the pain lessens.

“You need to be careful, your back is still healing.” It’s the pretty voice from before.

“Wh..Who are you?” Yoongi croaks out, his voice hoarse.

“My name is Jimin, I found you when I was out walking in the woods. You were badly hurt, so I brought you back to my cottage to heal you.”

“Wh..Whe…” He has trouble getting the words out with his throat being so hoarse.

“How about I help you sit up slowly. We can get some water in you– maybe something bland to eat. You’ve been out for days.”

At Yoongi’s nod, he feels a pair of hands on him, helping him to a seated position, little shots of pain going up his back. His head a little woozy from the movement, causing him to close his eyes. Yoongi feels a cup pressed up to his lips and gulps down the water provided to him.

“More,” he croaks out.

“That is enough for right now. I don’t want you getting sick. I’ll give you more later. Can you open your eyes for me?”

Yoongi slowly blinks his eyes open, the face in front of him coming into focus. Oh– the fairy before him is absolutely gorgeous. Blonde hair, golden skin, round cheeks and yellow – he must be a Sun Fairy, from the Bich faction.

“You have no need to fear me. I can see it in your eyes, but I promise you– you are safe here.”

“Where is here?”

“We are in No Man’s Land.”

No Man’s Land? That’s impossible, No Man’s Land is an inhabitable piece of land between the Bich and Eoduun factions. It’s a desolate region. “You’re lying.”

“I promise you I’m not. Years ago I escaped the Bich territory and I’ve lived here ever since.”

“Why?”

“I do not know you well enough to tell you that story. But I can promise you safety. I’m assuming when you were dropped from the sky, you were left here for dead. No one is going to be searching for you here.” The Sun fairy raises the cup back up to Yoongi’s lips and he drinks greedily.

Yoongi wants to ask about his injuries but at the same time part of him doesn’t want to know the full extent. Maybe he can exist in this little bubble of not knowing for a little bit longer. His stomach begins to cramp from hunger, he winces at the unpleasant feeling.

Jimin returns with a small bowl of rice porridge. It is demeaning to be fed by another, but when Yoongi tries to lift his hand, it just falls back down– he’s too weak. So there he sits, dutifully opening his mouth when Jimin brings the spoon to his lips. The hunger pains slowly dissipate as his stomach becomes full.

“I think that is enough for now. If you are hungry later, I can give you more. I think it’s best to take it slowly to start.” Jimin floats over to the little kitchen area.

Yoongi’s eyes finally take in his surroundings, the cottage is quite small but cozy at the same time. Multiple windows allow all the natural light in, a small mattress lays over in the corner with a dressing screen blocking half of it. There are two doors, one he assumes leads out of the cottage and the other— he’s not quite sure where it goes to.

The room starts to go out of focus as his eyes become heavier. He can feel himself swaying slightly. “Let’s get you down. You need some more rest.”

“I’mnottired–” Yoongi slurs his words together.

“Humor me,” he can hear faint amusement in Jimin’s voice. Next thing he knows, Jimin’s hands are on him, guiding him back down onto the pallet. Warmth fills him once more as he falls asleep.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

The next couple of days pass in the same manner, Yoongi waking up long enough to drink some water and eat, before sleep overtakes him once more. When he is feeling up to it he tries to make small talk with Jimin, about extremely mundane things. Not daring to ask what happened to him and not entirely sure that he wants to know.

One day, Yoongi finally works up the nerve, “So what actually… happened to me, out there?”

Jimin’s smile disappears from his face and he looks at Yoongi with sadness in his gaze. “They tore off your wings– they tossed you away. I’m doing what I can– but…”

“There is no guarantee that they will grow back, is there?” Jimin nods. “And if they ever grow back– they might not be the same.” The silence between them is answer enough.

Yoongi knows without a doubt– that he will never be the same. That his life as a rogue is officially over. Without his wings– he’s basically nothing. Not really a fairy, but he could never pass as a human. He belongs nowhere.

“I promise that I am doing everything that I can. There is a poultice that I want to try next. I just need to venture out into the woods to gather the final ingredient. I’m not going to give up on you.” Jimin turns his back to Yoongi, his yellow wings fluttering causing Yoongi to be filled with longing for his own wings. He watched as the Sun fairy moved about the small cottage, until an urge he hadn’t felt in a while overcame him.

“Jimin–” The Sun fairy spun around, hearing his voice, “I need to use the bathroom.”

“Oh! Let me help you.” Jimin comes right over, grabbing his arm. “Easy does it.” Carefully Jimin helps Yoongi to his feet. He tries to take a step and stumbles, feeling unbalanced without his wings. Luckily, Jimin catches him before he can tumble. “Just hold on to me, I have you.” Yoongi holds on tightly to the Sun fairy as they make their way to the bathroom.

Yoongi keeps his hands on the counter in the bathroom, assuring Jimin that he is fine on his own. Then, finally alone, he takes his appearance in the looking glass, his hair is greasy, fading bruises all along his pale face, a healing scar over his eye and one very noticeable change– his wings… they are truly gone. Yoongi turns his face away from the looking glass, unable to view himself any further.

After relieving himself and cleaning up as best he can, Yoongi stumbles back out into the room; running into the walls slightly, attempting to find his center of gravity again. How is he even going to function without his wings? Jimin must hear him stumbling, because he starts to make his way towards Yoongi, but then stops when he sees the look on Yoongi’s face.

Yoongi makes his way back to his pallet— slowly, absolutely exhausted from just that small bit of activity.

Jimin comes over with a cup of water, handing it to Yoongi. “I am going to head out to the woods. More than likely I’ll be gone for the rest of the day. I trust that you’ll be okay on your own?”

“I’ll be fine.” Yoongi mutters, keeping his eyes downcast, busying himself with sipping the water. He hears the Jimin moving about the cottage a bit, then he looks up when he hears the door open. Jimin’s yellow wings are fluttering behind him as the door shuts.

Now– what is he to do with himself? Before, Yoongi would be making plans for his next mission. His skill set sneaking in and out of places undetected had previously allowed him to quickly gain the rank of rogue in the Eoduun military. He was known as Suga , and he’d made quite a name for himself. Yoongi’s most recent mission was supposed to be his ticket to an easy life, but then he got caught…

And well– he doesn’t need to relive those memories again.

But, right now Yoongi is tired of sleeping, of resting– healing. He wants to do something , needs to do something. His eyes scan around his environment, noting the small pile of firewood. Slowly getting to his feet, Yoongi half walks (or stumbles, rather) into the kitchen area, checking all the drawers until he finds the knives. Inspecting each one carefully, he grabs one suited to his task and stumbles back over to his pallet. He scoots closer to the firewood, grabbing the smallest piece.

He pushes the knife to the wood and as he lets the first of the wood shavings fall to the floor, a smile appears over his face. It’s the first real smile he’s had in a while. Carving is awkward at first, his hands are unused to the movement, but somehow his mind remembers , and soon his hand movements become smoother, more comfortable.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Yoongi doesn’t even hear the door when it opens and shuts. He doesn’t notice that Jimin has returned until the Sun fairy is squatting down beside him. Startling him.

“Oh– what are you making?”

Yoongi looks up quickly, happy that he wasn’t in the middle of making a cut when Jimin spoke to him. “It’s just something that I used to do. Just a little figurine.”

“Well, that’s impressive. If you want to do more, or need anything else, just let me know. How is your back feeling?”

Yoongi had been so lost in his craving that he hadn’t even thought to notice his back, but now that he is paying attention, he winces a little. Without even asking, Jimin places his hand on Yoongi’s shoulder and that same warmth fills him again before disappearing along with the pain.

“I found what I needed in the woods. I’ll get started on that poultice, it should be ready in a couple days. But once I have the initial part set up, I’ll get started on dinner.”

“I can help.”

“Nonsense. You still need to heal. Tomorrow, if you are feeling up to it, we can start with taking some small walks outside.”

Yoongi hums in response, turning his focus back to his little wolf figurine.

Soon the noises of Jimin moving around the cottage fill the small area. It’s soothing in a way, coexisting with another individual without really having to talk– it’s nice.

Just as he finishes the little figurine, Jimin announces that dinner is ready. Yoongi carefully pushes himself to a standing position, and slowly makes his way towards one of the stools, stumbling slightly as he tries to relearn where his center of gravity is.

Jimin watches silently, not saying a word, nor offering any help which Yoongi appreciates. He doesn’t like being perceived as weak, after all. And once he is settled, Jimin serves up the food and they eat in relative silence for a little bit.

“So how did you learn to do that? The carving.” Jimin waves his hands over towards the figurine that Yoongi had left near his pallet.

“I learned it when I was younger, one of the elders taught it to me. A way to keep the hands busy.”

Yoongi doesn’t have a lot of fond memories of his time on the streets, but learning to carve was one of the rare good ones. There was an older thief who was kind (and foolish) enough to take Yoongi for one night— and well, Yoongi just kinda stayed after that, for quite a while. Wooshik had taught Yoongi many things; how to move around others without being detected, how to locate easy marks, how to get in and out of places with no one being the wiser. But then, one day, Wooshik didn’t return home… Yoongi still doesn’t know what happened to his former mentor. But a little while later, Yoongi was recruited into the Eoduun Military.

Basically Yoongi’s entire life , he had always been a thief of some sorts. A Poison fairy that moved in the darkness. Famous in certain ranks, his name was often whispered or even yelled as a curse, Suga. But that was then, and Yoongi is uncertain what his life is going to be like now. It feels like nothing will ever be the same again. Who is he if he isn’t Suga?

He thanks Jimin for the meal, before slowly making his way back to his pallet. Yoongi puts the knife away safely, before collapsing on his stomach. Then he curls his arms under his head; sleep finds him rather quickly tonight.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

As promised, a couple of days later the poultice Jimin wants to try is made. The Sun fairy cuts strips of linen from an old sheet, soaking them in the mixture before laying them along Yoongi’s back. It smells minty but at the same time soothing, with a slight heat to it making Yoongi feel all warm. It’s actually kind of soothing in a way. Jimin reapplies the strips regularly, and with a little trial error they soon realize it’s best to apply the poultice at night.

During the day, Jimin takes it upon himself to force Yoongi outdoors, citing that the sun was great medicine and fresh air would do him some good. Yoongi would always scowl at Jimin when he talked like this, but the Sun fairy paid him no mind, linking his arm through Yoongi’s and pulling him outside.

It started out as small walks in the front yard and then around the cottage. And as Yoongi continued to gain strength, their walks became longer, Jimin eventually taking him out into the woods. As much as Yoongi liked to complain, he was actually extremely thankful for Jimin, for caring for him. Plus, he would never admit it out loud but he loved listening to Jimin talk, and the way excitement would play across his face as he pointed out different plants that he had managed to grow on his little sliver of land.

Yoongi continues to work on his woodcarving, creating a whole new menagerie of animals that Jimin displays proudly on one of his shelves. When he hears the door creak open just now, he quickly hides what he has been working on under his shirt and grabs a different piece of wood.

“Hello,” Jimin sings as he heads directly to the kitchen area, sitting down his bag as he begins to pull out a variety of different herbs. “What have you been up to?”

“Oh– nothing.” Yoongi murmurs, trying to act nonchalant. “Just fiddling around.”

Jimin continues to chatter about his day in the woods, without noticing anything amiss. Yoongi sneakily moves the hidden item out of his shirt and underneath his pallet. He excuses himself to go to the bathroom.

There Yoongi avoids looking in the looking glass, his scarred face a reminder of the pain that happened to him. The distinct lack of wings– he doesn’t like thinking about such things. After washing up, he returns to the kitchen, joining Jimin for dinner, and once done with the meal he assumes the usual position on his pallet for Jimin to apply the poultices to his back. Yoongi doesn’t know if he will ever get his wings back, but the poultice does wonders for his pain.

The poultice makes him sleepy enough that, afterwards, he passes out for a couple hours. However he is on a mission once he wakes. Yoongi grabs what he had been working on from out beneath his pallet. He stills for a moment, listening for Jimin’s soft snores before quietly stepping outside.

The light of the full moon is bright enough for Yoongi to continue his carving. Being a Poison fairy from the Eoduun faction, Yoongi can actually gather strength from the night, and the moon– especially when it is full like it is tonight. Just for a moment, he turns his face up to the moonlight, taking it all in, before returning his attention to the carving in his hands.

Yoongi had decided to make something extra special for Jimin, a gift of sorts– a thank you. His hands move over the piece of carved wood, the familiar shape starting to come forth. He works diligently making sure every part is absolutely perfect. Taking care with the symbols he selects. And then, satisfied with the finished product, he sneaks back inside, falling asleep as soon as he reaches his pallet.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

It’s been weeks and Yoongi still hasn’t quite figured out why Jimin had ever decided to reside here in no man’s land. After that initial night of questions, Yoongi never asked again. He didn’t want to upset the Sun fairy. But he figured it must’ve been a lonely existence out here.

Yoongi wasn’t sure if it was due to the forced proximity or something else, but he found himself drawn to Jimin. His smile was soon becoming one of Yoongi’s favorite things. The medallion he made for him has been ready for at least a week, but he hasn’t yet worked up the nerve to gift it to the Sun fairy.

Now, it’s one of their typical nights. They had just gotten done with eating dinner and Yoongi had returned to his spot on his pallet, picking up the latest project while Jimin tidied up in the kitchen. He had offered to help, but of course, like usual he was turned down. But when Jimin finishes up, he comes and takes a seat next to Yoongi, sillenting watching him while he works.

For some reason, on this night, Yoongi feels brave and decides to fill the silence. “I was a rogue in the Eoduun Miltary, I’m sure you have figured that out by now. I had a special skill set for procuring items; getting in and out of places without being detected. But I must’ve aimed too high, that last time, because I was caught. Commander Choi is not known for her kindness . And well…” Yoongi pauses in his motions, “I guess you could say– I’m not a rogue any longer.”

A small hand cups his shoulder, and glancing over, he sees Jimin is looking at him, his eyes full of tears. It’s true sadness that fills them, rather than pity. The two of them speak with their eyes for a long moment, words not being needed. And once the moment ends, Yoongi turns his gaze back to carving in his hand.

“I left the Bich territory many, many moons ago. I’m from a small village, but my skills with herbs and healing magic had me making the rounds through many other villages. The Bich Army kept approaching me to join them, but I kept blowing them off.” When Yoongi looks over, he sees Jimin has a far away look in his eyes. “One day, I was out in the forest hunting for herbs, and when I returned… well, my little village was no more. It had been razed to the ground, I could see fairies from the Bich Army asking if anyone had found me. But I didn’t stay to hear more. I took off into the woods. And as you can see…” Jimin waves his arm around, “I ended up here.”

Yoongi sets down his carving, scooting over to Jimin and putting his arm around the Sun fairy, pulling him in tight. They sit there together, taking solace in each other's company and in their sad histories. When they both can barely keep their eyes open, Jimin squeezes him one more time before slowly rising, retiring to his bed while Yoongi falls asleep on his pallet.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

The next day they are both a little somber but they go through their regular motions, breaking their fast together before starting on their own separate things. In the afternoon, Jimin comes to get Yoongi for their daily walk. But on their way back to the cottage, Yoongi stops Jimin.

“Hm?” Jimin looks at him with confusion.

Yoongi reaches his hand into his pocket, pulling out the medallion that he made. “I umm– made this little trinket for you. I want you to have it.”

Jimin’s eyes widen as he reaches for the medallion. “Yoongi,” he mutters softly. “This– this is so beautiful.” Jimin’s hands cradle the sun medallion that Yoongi carved, each of the sun’s eight rays has a different symbol carved into it. With a smile on his face, Jimin takes the sun medallion necklace and places it over his neck. “Thank you.” Yoongi thinks his smile glows like the sun.

“It’s nothing.” Yoongi rubs the back of his head. When his hand falls back down at his side, Jimin reaches for it, interlocking their fingers together the rest of the way back to the cottage.

After that day, things changed between them, they became infinitely closer. Holding hands, cuddling, lingering gazes. But as soon as things felt like they might progress further, Yoongi finds himself pulling back. Jimin deserves someone better than him, someone that is whole – a real fairy – something that he is not any longer.

“Yoongi, what is wrong?”

“Nothing,” he mutters softly, avoiding Jimin’s gaze.

“It’s not nothing.” Yoongi feels Jimin’s hand on his chin tilting his face upwards, until their eyes meet. “Talk to me. You can tell me anything, what is troubling you?”

“I– I’m not worthy.” Yoongi pulls his face away. “I’m disfigured, half of the fairy that I once was. You– you deserve better.” But Jimin’s hand is warm against Yoongi’s cheek, his thumb running along the bottom of the scar bisecting Yoongi’s eye.

“Look at me.” The heated look in Jimin’s eyes seems to set Yoongi on fire. “You are beautiful just the way you are. Wings or not.” Yoongi closes his eyes as Jimin leans forward, his breath catching in his throat as Jimin presses their lips together in a sweet kiss. The Sun fairy tastes like sunshine, how was that even possible. Yoongi doesn’t know, but he presses himself closer in response, his hands threading themselves through Jimin’s hair.

With just a little pull he angles Jimin’s head and deepens the kiss, capturing the resulting moan into his mouth. He feels Jimin’s hand leave his cheek, his fingers trailing down his chest until they reach his hip, gripping it tight.

Time passes by while the two are lost in  each other. When finally the need for air wins out, Yoongi pulls back, resting his forehead against Jimin’s, panting as catches his breath. His hands gently falling down to Jimin’s sides.

“I want you,” Jimin murmurs softly, squeezing Yoongi’s hip again.

“You have me,” Yoongi whispers, “You have all of me.”

Jimin grabs a hold of Yoongi’s hand, pulling him towards his bed. He presses a brief kiss to Yoongi’s lips before taking a small step back. Keeping their eyes locked, Jimin reaches down for the hem of his shirt, pulling it overhead, letting it softly drop to the floor as Yoongi watches. The Sun fairy takes a step closer, his hands reaching for Yoongi’s shirt.

“Is this okay?’ Jimin asks, he must’ve noticed Yoongi’s hesitantance.

“Mm..my wings, my back. But– I guess you have already seen that… touched me there…”

“Your scars are beautiful, you are beautiful.”

Jimin reverently presses a kiss to Yoongi’s scarred eye before slowly turning him around, so that Yoongi’s back faces him. Yoongi’s breath hitches as Jimin presses kisses to the nape of his neck, then between his shoulder blades, soft fingertips following behind the path of Jimin’s lips, leaving a trail of fire in their wake.

Yoongi has never felt so wanted before. Yes– he’s lovers in the past, but none have made him feel like this. He feels Jimin’s hand on his waistband, and then his pants are pulled down, he steps out of them, leaving himself bare in front of the Sun fairy. Soft hands on his back push him forward, he lands on the mattress with a soft ‘oof.’

The Sun fairy’s hands return to his back, those magical fingers massaging the knotted muscles, taking care around his battered skin. Yoongi closes his eyes at the sensation, feeling himself sink into the mattress. His eyes shoot open though, when he feels Jimin’s fingers continue down to his backside, skimming his skin, back and forth in a teasing manner.

He lets out an involuntary whine when Jimin begins trailing over the spot that Yoongi wants him to touch the most. When he feels the fingers graze his rim again, he wiggles his hips in discontent. A soft chuckle is heard.

“Impatient are we?” Jimin’s fingers wander back to his rim, teasing his fingers along the puckered hole.

“Ngh.” Yoongi gasps out, his hand fisting the blankets in his grip. When he feels another brush at his rim, he buries his face into the blanket, trying to hide his moan.

“Don’t hide from me, I want to hear you– Nay, I need to hear you.” Jimin’s fingers tease his rim again and Yoongi doesn’t try to hide his moans this time. Things seem to move quickly, yet somehow not quick enough after that. The Sun fairy works him open, leaving Yoongi a writhing mess and wanting even more.

“Up onto the bed, but stay on your knees. Your back is still healing.” Yoongi listens without question, leaning forward on his forearms and shifting his ass up into the air. “ Perfect, ” Jimin purrs, causing a shiver to run through Yoongi’s body.

The bed dips as Jimin settles behind him. Strong hands grab his waist, pulling him into place. Yoongi feels a slight pressure at his rim and then he feels full– so full , letting out a loud moan. Then Jimin starts to move his hips and Yoongi ascends into another plane, unable to recall a time that he ever felt this good.

Sounds of slick skin and moans feel the air, as they both slowly work their way to their release. Afterwards, Jimin expertly positions their bodies to the side as they lay on the bed together, catching their breaths. Yoongi smiles softly when he feels another kiss pressed into his nape and Jimin’s warm arm securely wrapping around his waist. The warmth of Jimin’s magic seems to fill him as his eyes close and they both drift off to sleep, sated.

°❀⋆.ೃ࿔*:・

Yoongi wakes up the next morning, feeling better than he has in a long time. He turns himself around in bed so that he can face the Sun fairy. It’s unfair how beautiful he looks, even in his sleep. Leaning forward, Yoongi presses a soft kiss to Jimin’s forehead before crawling out of bed. He stumbles a couple times as he makes his way to the bathroom–  a little unsure on his feet. Yoongi guesses it had been a while since he’d done anything like that.

Going through the motions, Yoongi relieves himself and washes his face, avoiding looking at himself in the mirror.

But–

But– hadn’t Jimin called him beautiful last night; called his scars beautiful. Maybe… Yoongi closes his eyes as he raises his head up. Taking a couple deep breaths, he opens his eyes and gasps, hand covering his mouth.

No– it cannot be! Yoongi moves closer to the looking glass, shock evident in his features.

“JIMIN! JIMIN!” Yoongi yells as he rushes from the bathroom, stumbling along the way. He falls into the bed, his hands finding the Sun fairy and shaking him awake.

“Waaa,” Jimin eyes shoot open, “What’s wrong?”

“Look!”

Jimin’s eyes widen as he takes in Yoongi’s appearance, “Yo..your wings!”

Yoongi knows what Jimin is seeing right now– it’s the same thing he just experienced a moment ago. His wings– they are back! Jimin reaches out a hand, softly running his fingertips along one fluttering wing.

“Wow– they really are so beautiful! I don’t think I’ve ever seen a color quite like this before.”

Yes– Yoongi’s wings were still dark, but now they are intersected with yellow veining, almost like gilded lines. It’s a stark contrast from what they were before. It really makes him stand out. He will probably will never be able to return to life as a rogue with bright marks like this, but in all honestly none of that matters anymore– he has his wings back!

“It’s all thanks to you, Jimin. I don’t know if I will ever be able to thank you enough.” Yoongi surges forward, peppering kisses all over Jimin’s face. “You never gave up. You made me whole again.”

“You were never broken to begin with.” Yoongi smiles as Jimin’s hands cup his cheek.

“How can I ever thank you?”

“Stay here with me?” Jimin whispers, almost as if he was scared to say anything. “It’s so much better here with you in my life.”

“Why would I ever leave?” Yoongi is rewarded with Jimin’s stunning smile.
