A Different Kind of Train Ride
My Point of View:
I stretch tiredly and let my neck circle again. I love conventions and cosplay so much, but I could gladly do without the long journey. I look up at the train station display and notice that even though I slept, it's still 6 hours home. Not counting delays... but I'm taking the German train... let's make the 6 hours into 8. Since I still have plenty of time, I can take another look at the treasures I bought at the convention. I'm just about to open my backpack when my phone vibrates.
Mom: Hello, my love, I'm glad you had so much fun. We're going to sleep now. Take care and let me know when you get to the station. Love you <3
I smile and text my mom goodnight before raving to her again about my real metal Master Sword and the Eden Apple replica. Who would have thought they sold things like that? The Master Sword is safely on my leg and I'm taking my backpack with me. I've always wanted to get one, but this time I did it, the metal version with the blade that shimmers in light blue. This sword is going to hang on my wall! The cool thing is, I even got it with this scabbard so I can just carry it on my back when I change trains! My second treasure from the con was more of a coincidence. I'm an Assassin's Creed fan and especially love the Ezio trilogy. So I could hardly believe my luck when I found a stand at the con with Assassin's Creed merchandise. Including a replica of the Apple of Eden that Ezio had in the game! I carefully pull the apple out of my backpack and examine it in the bright light of the track. It's made of metal, that much is certain, and that makes it heavier than I thought. Hmm, if I were to knock someone off with it, I could break their nose. Plus, it has the golden glow like the one in the game. If I look at it long enough, you get the feeling that it's trying to tell me something. Luckily, it's not a real one, otherwise I think I'd be an easy target for Juno to manipulate. I hold the apple in my hand for a while, turning it over and taking pictures with my right hand and my cell phone. I'm just about to stuff the apple back in my backpack when the train jolts. I fall forward and land on my backpack, the Master Sword, and the apple. A dull pain shoots through my wrist. I'm sure I'll get a bruise there tomorrow. What a bummer... I'm just about to get up and see what happened when the train jolts again. This time I'm thrown to the ground even harder, and I think my head hits the ground. I suddenly have a pain in my head and my vision blurs. Just before everything goes black, I hear the groaning of metal, screams, and in my blurry vision, which is more black than color, I see a bright golden glow. Then everything goes black and silent.
When I come to, it feels like a woodpecker is pecking at my head. It's pounding so hard that I decide it's better to lose consciousness again. When I come to for the second time, my head is still pounding, but not as bad. Besides, I'm used to stress headaches, which are worse. I keep my eyes closed and try to get my bearings. Okay, it looks like the train was in an accident. That means I'm either already in the hospital or still at the scene of the accident. I seem to be doing well so far, except for the headache and the tingling in my right arm as if I'd touched an electrical outlet. Anyway, I'm doing well so far! That means while I'm in the hospital, I can relax and hope my parents haven't found out yet. I don't want to imagine the panic if someone calls in the middle of the night and says their daughter is in the hospital. Or maybe I'm still at the scene of the accident and can help others, because even if they don't remember everything, I can still give first aid!
I open my eyes only to be greeted by a bright blue sky and sunshine. This can't be right! The accident happened around 1 a.m., and the sun looks more like 12 noon... Why the hell am I not in a hospital! I quickly sit up, expecting to see tracks, a broken train, and people, but instead I am greeted by walls made of light sandstone, I guess, meadows, and a haystack in which I am lying. Besides, it's much too warm for an autumn day!
Did someone kidnap me and put me in a haystack near some village? Did they still have haystacks like that in villages? I mean, I'm a city kid... I do live on the outskirts of a city and if I go too far I'll end up in an area where, with luck, the bus still runs every hour, but everything around me looked somehow stuck in time. As if I was looking at a picture in a history book. I carefully sit up despite the slight pounding in my head. There is a quiet clang and I see that the Master Sword and its sheath have slipped to the floor, along with my backpack. Relief spreads within me; the kidnapper doesn't seem to have stolen my things. I go to grab my backpack and the sword, but I freeze. My right arm is covered in glowing gold and silver markings up to the elbow. The pattern looks like a cross between those on the Apple of Eden and my cell phone case. (On my phone case there are cherry blossoms and Itachi in his Akatsuki cloak. On my arm you only see the cherry blossoms and the Akatsuki clouds mixed with the apple pattern.) The patterns that are reminiscent of the apple are the gold ones, and the ones on the case are the silver ones. They shimmer and glow slightly and can't be wiped off. Who the hell kidnapped me from a train accident to give me a glowing tattoo!?
