Summary:

It is a common joke among Kunikogowa students that Principal Asano is a blood sucker, not just because of his overall horrific attitude and way he presents himself.

Notes:

I am going to tell the truth I have not read this in a few months as this was written in advance so I could post through GCSE season. But I do remember that this was a great fic so mayhap you should read this?

Work Text:

It is a common joke among Kunikogowa students that Principal Asano is a blood sucker, not just because of his overall horrific attitude and way he presents himself but also because he often drinks viscous red liquid out of his cup a student once –bravely- asked him what it was and he just calmly replied blood and then scolded the student on their dress code.

But if Principal Asano is a monster shouldn’t that mean that their beloved student council president, the boy who everyone fears and everyone loves, Asano Gakushuu, is a monster too? It seems implausible, after all he may be terrifying and calculated and scarily smart but he isn’t… no ok on second thought most people in Kunikogowa can see the young Asano being a creature of the night as well.

These theories and fun jokes mostly mean nothing to the students of the prestigious school, after all they are just funny jokes. However one day changes this all…

“Asano wait up!” Seo screams through the hallway as he runs after the student council president who is currently hurrying (but not running Gakushuu is far above running in the hallways and God forbid breaking the rules) the opposite way.

Ren manages to catch up with Seo a wry smile on his face, “Hey he is not going to stop when he gets like this you cannot get him to slow down.”

“Gets like this? Do you mean that he has done this before?”

“I mean he has never actually ran away from me before but that’s probably just because he likes me more than you.”

“Shut up Ren you are so annoying. I just wanted to ask if he was ok, he looked sick or maybe even scared.”

Ren looks sympathetic and almost worried for a split second before his face turns cold. “He will be fine I promise, everyone needs a break sometimes right?”

Luckily for Ren, Seo looks placated by this and just gives a wry smile. “Alright then I guess you have known him the longest, if he needs anything just make sure that eh knows we are all here for him. K?”

“Asano would be insulted if I told him that.”

“I- yeah fine ok but at least make sure he is ok.”

“Yes yes Seo do you really think that you of all people should be giving me advise on being a great best friend when you yourself does not have one?”

“Wha-!” Seo squeals indignity. “I have a best friend!”

“Oh yeah? Who?”

“Komoya!”

“You are most certainly not Komoya’s best friend he likes Araki much much more than you.”

“Liar!”

“Nope I am not lying that would be immoral and unbecoming of a young man, people will not invest in me if I say such things a-“

“Ok ok I get it man shut up.”

Asano Gakushuu is breaking the schools rules; he is well away of that fact but honestly he couldn’t care less at this point. An enemy vampire has appeared on campus and blood has been spilled. Oh and yes the Asano family are actually vampires.

Their entire family is of vampire nobility and has been for thousands of years none of them have ever been found out until The Principal had been feasting on the boys who had bullied Ikeada and was spotted, Gakushuu is still upset at that as now he has to be extra careful about where and who he feed on, though Gakushuu has always had a moral compass even if it is a squewed one but he only feasts on adults who are immoral or have done something immoral.

Enemies on their campus is always a bad omen as it could be a precursor to an attack; however what makes this one worse? The Principal is on a school trip at the moment leaving Gakushuu to be the only thing standing between his school and a buffet table. He has to ignore the sick feeling in his stomach as the blood of a human leaks into his nose, someone has already been attacked. Someone might already be dead.

Using his super speed –once out of eye line of his friends of course- Gakushuu sprints to the epicentre of where the enemy is, the back of main campuses field, near the woods.

Once arriving Gakushuu’s worst fears are confirmed, a student has been attacked, no not just attacked mailed, blood and flesh is everywhere even hanging on trees a few meters away. Their face is almost gone just leaving a bloody puddle of flesh and viscera in its place and their neck has been torn out to allow access to their carotid and jugular blood vessels. The enemy vampire is stood over the dying student lapping up the spurting blood pouring from wounds and slashes all over the body.

Worst of all? If Gakushuu didn’t recognise the student’s alternative clothing to the dress code, he isn’t sure that he would have recognised that it was Akabane Karma being mauled. The iconic black blazer he always wears now drenched in blood flung haphazardly to the side.

Gakushuu wants to throw up, of course he does this is his friend academic rival. But he can’t right now Gakushuu needs to defend the rest of his school, the rest of his friends and classmates.

His nails sharpen and he lunges forward swiping at the pale creatures face, the enemy jumps back hissing loudly. Their fight is long and bloody and Gakushuu stumbles occasionally due to the gory and disgusting site below him but eventually Gakushuu comes out on top, the other was not a vampire of high nobility nor one born into the species so in the end he had no chance at beating the teen no matter his physical advantage.

Once dispatched of the elder vampire’s body crumbles away decaying into fine particles of dust before the wind picks up and takes it away scattering the ashes all over the field. Gakushuu bends down staring at the desecrated body before him, it no longer looks like Akabane nor does it longer even look like a human. Gakushuu feels sick.

Suddenly, a loud pained groan echoes throughout the forest, Gakushuu freezes, was someone else injured? Is someone else dying? He immediately jumps up looking around scared and angrily how could he have let this happen? He sniffs hard trying to locate the location of the other injured.

But he can’t, the stench of Akabane’s blood fills his noise blocking out any other possible scent. He doesn’t want to leave the body alone it would be cruel. He doesn’t want to leave Akabane all alone. But someone could be hurt someone else could be dying he has to help them.

Another grown sounds out through the forest except this time Gakushuu was ready his ears manage to locate the exact direction of where the noise was coming from. Below him.

Gakushuu hadn’t taken Akabane’s pulse why would he have? He is very clearly dead… or at least the vampire hopes he is. But no he gently presses his cold undead fingers against Akabane’s cold –hopefully- dead neck. There is a pulse. The boy nearly screams.

Akabane is still alive… somehow. Gakushuu has no idea what to do, he could mercy kill him… but he doesn’t want to that would… be truly horrid for both of them Gakushuu would be reluctant so he might mess up then Akabane would be hurt more. He doesny know what to do.

Should he just do it?

Before his brain has even registered it he is stood over the dying boy a rock held tight on his hand. He needs to do it, he doesn’t want Akabane to die in pain. He has to do this.

“W-ait.” Akabane coughs out, Gakushuu is unsure how as his mouth is practically ripped open but he does anyway. “Would ta- take a – a lkot to regen- regen- regenerate a rock smashing.” He gurgles.

“W-what?”

“Not- not human. Not dead.”

That… for some reason doesn’t shock Gakushuu as much as he thought it should, its most likely shock and adrenaline. He drops the rock. It hits Akabane’s shin on accident and he screams out in pain, Gakushuu feels bad.

“Shit sorry sorry I promise it was an accident!” The vampire yelps out trying to help pull the rock off of him.

Akabane groans in pain as he sits up chunks of flesh still failing from his messed up face as one of his mangled hands reaches into the viscera and pulls at the hanging jaw bone snapping it back into place. Skin starts to pulls itself over and over and crack back together, it starts to mold and mix back into the familiar teasing smile of Akabane Karma.

“You… you’re alive and better?”

“Yes Asano-kun I am. Please don’t worry I’m ok.”

“What… what are you?”

I may write a part two if someone wants but until then I am done here.
