Chapter Text
She was lying down in the bathtub of her room. It wasn’t flooded, nor was she naked.
But she was very still, her legs propped against the bathtub walls, with her face directly below the tap. Amy Singh was not an ordinary girl in her early twenties, but the most searched name on Google in the UK for she was the main lead of one of the biggest movie series of all times - Potter: The Wizarding World. She had wavy long jet black hair and olive skin that perfectly matched her character of Jennifer Potter. Born and raised in London to an Indian origin British single father and cafe owner, Amy was first casted when she was only ten years old that changed the fortunes of her small family. For the past decade, Amy was a constant name in the media houses and general public alike. The popularity of the character made 'Jennifer' a popular name for couples to name their baby girls in the UK. Wherever she went, people scurried to get a glimpse of her, stretching out their hands to take a feel of her, give out papers or tissues for her to sign, but on the other side of the reality, Amy's life was not all that shines is gold.
“How long are we gonna do this?” asked another woman, Ria, standing near her with loads of files in one hand, while the other one was on her hips. She looked absolutely done with all of it as Amy didn’t reply.
“AMY!”
No response.
She rolled her eyes as Amy didn’t acknowledge her existence at all. It was usual for Amy to not reply quickly ever since things had started to go down south, Ria always tries to understand her situation and be patient about it but sometimes her professional commitments take over her personal choices. She was Amy's manager and needed to make sure she completes her commitments to other producers on time without it making to the front page of Gossip Columns of leading newspapers and magazines.
"Amy we really-
“one…” Amy finally spoke, without lifting her head from the cold bathtub floor. Her dead watery eyes still staring at the tap above her head, “one final call.”
“Alright,” Amy’s manager let out a huge sigh.
Amy lifted her hand up, put her palms on the bathtub edges as she lifted herself up, narrowly missing her head from smashing the tap. She turned around and saw her mobile lying around her ankles. Taking all the sweet time in the world, Amy picked it up. Her sweat drenched hair fell over her shoulders as they fought their way out of the loose pony tail. She looked like a complete mess yet there was a different kind of charm to her face. Her head felt light and dizzy.
“How much do you bet, Ria?” she asked, turning towards Ria with blurry vision.
”you already owe me a lot many bucks Amy, just get it done with quickly, you’ve got a shoot to attend!” Ria snapped back, finally losing her temper but regretting it immediately.
Amy made a disgusted face as with trembling hands she dialled ‘Tom’. She put the phone on her right outstretched palm towards Ria knowing very well what is going to happen yet wishing for miracles.
ring…
ring…
ring…
nothing.
ring…
ring…
ring…
nothing.
Amy’s heart sank.
Not like she wasn’t expecting it to happen, but she didn’t want to believe it happened. Tears started flowing down her eyes uncontrollably. She had kohl under eyes that didn't smudge through the tears but made her big eyes look beautiful even if they were swollen and red. If not for the mess she was right now, Amy had a face that men would fight each other for. Ria felt sorry for her and quickly embraced Amy, rubbing her back with a belief that it might ease her pain, dropping the files she was carrying.
Amy was stone cold with her tears slashing her face apart like swords. It was a shame she stopped feeling anything on the inside of her body, but she could still tell the tears were definitely heavy with all the expectations they had in them, that once again were broken like a dam, overflowing the village nearby. Ria lifted her up by supporting her arms as Amy's legs felt like they would betray her any moment. As they walked into the bedroom, Amy turned towards the television, she paused for a second and then asked, “what are they saying?” implying about the media.
One thing that comes with great stardom is the absolute loss of personal life. Amy's every move was recorded on the British tabloids who followed her like blood thirsty vultures. She liked being a public figure at times when she's signing heart whelming fan posters and tissue papers, but God knows how much she wanted to be a nobody on days like these.
Ria let out a deep sigh. She handed Amy her iPad and showed her the headlines.
“have the Potter power couple- Amy Singh and Tom Felton, split up?”
“Tom Felton seen hanging around with Emma Watson amidst rumours of break up with Amy Singh.”
“Amy Singh cancels her BBC Radio interview citing health issues”
“Amy Singh and Daniel Radcliffe to appear on X Factor this weekend to promote their latest film.”
“Tom Felton denies dating rumours with Emma Watson.”
Amy chuckles as she kept reading the second headline over and over again.
“Emma,” she whispered, “that bitch!”
Ria snatched the iPad back and pushed her to the wardrobe, ”get dressed, quickly. Dan has already left. We’ll be late.”
Amy half heartedly walked into her wardrobe to pick a basic pair of blue jeans and white jumper. In a lavishly big bedroom, there sat an even more lavish walk-in wardrobe with clothes filled with brands any girl could just dream of, let alone own every new launch at barely twenty years of age. Yet, Amy chose a simple look because she had no energy left to leaf through her vast wardrobe. She dared not look at herself in the mirror, or else she might actually see what it looks like to have a broken heart. She dared not face the reality.
Within the next twenty minutes, Ria and Amy were in the car as they set off to the set of X Factor reality show.
“Okay guys I want you to stay seated, we will start rolling soon..” continued the instructions guy over the microphone as scores of people ran from hither and tither to put things in place, in order to start the shoot. The place was huge and cold with hundreds of air conditions running simultaneously. A flashy red and gold decor filled the eyes of anyone looking directly at the centre stage, right in front of the chairs where the judges would sit.
X Factor was the biggest singing reality show in all of UK. Young aspiring singers from all over the country had come to give it a shot, with only a handful of them making it to the live show. It was the grand premiere, the very first episode of the competition after every round of auditions were done. The contestants sat nervously at one corner of the hall, adjacent to the stage beside where the host had his designated seats.
In a corner sat five really young boys, barely touching the late teens. They didn’t look like they knew each other much, but still seemed like they belong together.
They were nervous, like every other contestant, but particularly the youngest one - Harry. He had curly hair and shiny green eyes that had dreams and ambitions inside of them. He sat next to the only person he could muster the courage to talk to, Niall. They looked like they could cry any moment. Niall had blond hair that wasn't natural and braces on his natural teeth. He was second youngest after Harry.
The eldest of them - Louis, was the farthest from Harry as between them sat Zayn and Liam. Nobody was talking and it was so silent they could hear each other’s heartbeats. It was loud enough to match the thumping of drums, indicating that the show will begin the shoot soon. Louis had shiny blue eyes that twinkled with excitement and nerves alike where Liam was the most confident one out of the five. He had been to the auditions before but only made it to the live round this time.
“Lights! Camera! …. and ACTION!”
The theme of the show played in the background as the Host, Dermot walked towards the centre of the stage. He started the show with great energy as he introduced the judges and welcomed the audience, who clapped back enthusiastically.
“… today is going to be so special, we’re going to have some really fun guests…” He spoke on his mic while reading his lines on the teleprompter behind the primary camera.
Zayn, the quietest of them all, shifted in his seat as he looked around the set. It was cold, he couldn’t tell if it was the air conditioning or just his body shutting down with anxiety. Zayn had beautiful long eyelashes that any girl would kill to have, a set of big dark brown eyes and sculpted nose that made him look distinctively handsome. He was probably the most good looking contestant on the show. His fellow female co-contestants would keep sneaking a peek at him that would make him blush a little, internally. But Zayn wasn't looking around for any of his co-contestant, instead he was very interested in the guests that were supposed to arrive any time soon.
“We’ll be alright,” Liam whispered to all the boys sitting either of his side.
Harry and Niall nodded without a word.
“…with the finest talent handpicked from all around the country…” Dermot continued on the stage.
Louis patted Zayn’s thigh, “we’ll be alright.”
Zayn’s throat tightened with every passing minute. He didn’t know if he had it in him to walk to the stage and actually perform the song the five of them had been practicing for a week now.
“CUT!”
After a couple of acts, the tension eased in all of their hearts a bit, but they were still a lot anxious about their own performance. The judges were easy in their verdicts so far but the most frightening of them all - Simon Cowell, who was also the mentor of the 'Groups', was known to be brutally honest and borderline rude. The thought of messing it all up and have him take a bite at their souls was the most frightening part.
“when would they arrive?” someone whispered behind the boys, breaking Zayn's train of thoughts. He didn't look back, but strained his hearing to listen to the whispers further.
“I don’t know mate, funny people these celebrities, they like to keep people waiting.”
”oh I’m so excited to see Amy in the flesh!”
Zayn let out a silent sigh.
”you know I waited the whole night when they premiered Half Blood Prince at the Trafalgar Square”
”I’ve heard they split? Tom and Amy?”
Zayn shifted in his seat again as he strained a lil’ harder to hear what the other contestants were talking about. He wished his group wasn’t seated at the front of everyone else. He wanted to dig up a hole and bury himself in it. Maybe signing up for the X Factor was a bad decision, maybe he wasn't meant to be in front of the camera or maybe he is just too young to be here.
“SILENCE!”
”… and it is time, to call up on stage the cast of the most successful film series ever made. Ladies and Gentlemen please put your hands together for the most iconic siblings duo in the history of cinema, give it up for the sensational Daniel Radcliffe and everyone’s favourite Amy Singh!”
Dermot’s announcement was met with humongous cheers as everyone stood up. The doors behind the stage pulled away open as the cheers intensified when two silhouettes appeared. Daniel looked different without his trademark Harry Potter forehead scar and round glasses while Amy looked ethereal in a little black dress that hugged her figure in the right places. She had her trademark long black hair falling down till her lower back in pretty waves. She wore red heels to complement her look.
They greeted the host and waved at the judges.
Zayn didn't realise when everyone else had taken their seats after clapping for he was still standing, his eyes transfixed on Amy who stood right in front of him, just a few meters away. It was hard for him to realise that he wasn't looking at her through a screen.
Louis grabbed Zayn’s shirt and pulled him down to sit back.
“are you lost lad?” he whispered.
Zayn couldn’t answer, his eyes were still fixed on Amy’s beautiful wide smile. And just then, his heart completely stopped beating as Amy looked directly at him and waved. She probably did that as a sweet gesture towards the contestants as Daniel did the same, but it was enough for Zayn's poor heart to get overwhelmed.
He blacked out.
The car stopped in front of the big gates that had written “The X Factor: UK”.
Although it was a good one hour drive from her house, Amy felt they arrived a lil' too soon. She didn't want to step outside and face the world, just yet.
It was a huge set that had a room for probably every judge, separate backstage hall for the contestants and a separate one for the guests. But Amy wasn’t looking outside of the window at all. Her huge shades kept her swollen red eyes away from everyone else’s notice. All her documents and necessary paperwork was with Ria, all Amy had to carry was her facade of happiness.
Ria quickly got out of the car as Amy waited for her cue. She could hear Ria making some calls, talking to some people outside and then she tapped twice on her door, after five seconds, she flung it open. Amy, without removing her shades, hopped out of the car, stood beside Ria like a little daughter waiting for her mother to instruct further. Maybe it was the dynamic that Amy and Ria shared. Ria was a couple of years elder, a couple inches taller and had a calming energy to keep Amy grounded when she feels like her world is crashing. At least there were no media cameras to blind her already blurry vision.
"Good evening Miss Singh!" exclaimed a man in suit as he bowed in courtesy.
Amy smiled feebly and bowed too without saying anything. The suddenness of it all took her out. Ria held her hand as she understood Amy was beginning to fall apart and guided her towards her designated changing room.
On their way, Amy could hear a lot of people gasp, many ogle and many others just stare at her. Being a part of the film industry made her used to all the attention like this. When she finally entered her room, Daniel Radcliffe, her co-star and on-screen brother was already there. He was talking to someone on the phone. He quickly got up and hugged Amy without putting away the phone. He nodded in a little ‘hello!’
Amy hugged him back. Daniel was one of the only people she could be absolutely comfortable with. They first met on the day of auditions for the leads of Potter Film Franchise. Out of hundreds of kids who came, Amy and Dan were lucky enough to have gotten the part. She slipped into a sofa chair and waited patiently for Daniel to finish his call. He was almost the same height as Amy’s which he’d beg to differ and claim that he’s taller, but he had strikingly similar facial features to her. Both of them shared similar eyes, only in different colors and jet black hair essential to their book counterparts- Harry and Jenny Potter.
Growing up together on a film set with several other child actors, Dan and Amy spent most of their time together. With most of their scenes included involvement of them both, the on-screen twins shared a sibling energy off-screen too. They had become each other's confidantes and knew the other one would not judge if one had a story to tell.
“okay Mum, I’ll go now, take care..” Daniel hung up his call and finally looked at Amy with full concentration.
“alright mate?” he asked. His blue eyes fixed on her face.
Amy simply nodded. Her shades still in place firmly. Daniel glanced at Ria who shook her head silently.
He politely walked towards Amy, kneeled down in front of her. He gently took off her shades. He knew he could do this without Amy feeling uncomfortable.
He could now see her red and puffy eyes and Daniel quickly hugged Amy.
“Ames!!” Dan spoke in his sweetest voice. He could feel Amy shaking a little under his arms. Her heartbeat thumping loud enough.
“it’s not worth it Ames,” he continued, “you deserve to be happy. You don’t deserve to be this way, Amy. Give yourself a chance.”
“I.. I’ve tried… I’m still… trying…” Amy sobbed.
It was heartbreaking to say but Ria had to do her job, “shoot begins in 30 mins.”
“lad!” Louis whispered as he shook Zayn who slipped on the couch beside him. Liam sitting beside him noticed and panic struck him too. Zayn cannot be consumed by his nerves right when it was their turn to perform.
“…and our next act is a group of boys put together to form a band…” Dermot started announcing.
“lad!!” Louis was panicking now, “it’s our turn!!”
Harry and Niall oblivious to the commotion already stood up in excitement and started walking off the couch towards the end of the main stage that lead towards the backstage.
Liam couldn’t think of anything else and slapped Zayn across his face.
Zayn woke up with a jolt, he was sweating. Louis was panting from panic.
“I’m sorry mate I had no other choice,” Liam spoke as he pulled Zayn by his wrists and made him follow Harry and Niall, with Louis in the back.
“I’m.. I… I’m sorry..” Zayn lost the trail.
“it’s okay, let’s go, we’re up!” Louis helped Zayn walk along the narrow stairs just behind the main stage. Harry and Niall were talking to a crew member when the other three boys arrived behind them.
“Stand on the mark and when the doors pull open, your cue music would start playing, you got me?” he asked in a monotonous voice like he had this line inked on his tongue.
The five of them nodded.
They stood side by side, on the designated mark, right behind the huge panel doors from where Dan and Amy entered a few minutes ago, that felt like ages ago to Zayn.
Harry was hopping in his place with excitement, or maybe calming down his nerves in his own way, Louis couldn’t tell the difference but he surely felt his stomach tingle.
“Alright boys,” the crew member whispered, “in three seconds,” he held three fingers on his right hand up and started a silent countdown with putting his them down one by one.
As soon as the last finger went down, the massive doors finally moved apart to reveal the huge X Factor stage from a different perspective. The crowd was so huge only the heads of the people sitting there was visible. With the lights blinding their eyes, none of them could make out where the audience ended. It was all a blur after a point. Right in front of them sat the three judges, and the two celebrity guests - Daniel Radcliffe and Amy Singh.
Zayn didn’t dare to look at the judges’ panel this time, he instead kept looking at the oblivion in the audience.
Their entrance was met with a huge applause as Liam started singing:
“…I used to rule the world
Seas would rise when I gave the word…”
Zayn’s heart started beating loud again, he was the next to sing with Niall.
He took a deep breath, still didn’t look at Amy, in fact not even at the judges panel, he kept looking at the far behind, above their heads where the studio audience were seated.
He cleared his throat and sang next,
”…I used to roll the dice
Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes…”
He could feel the audience cheer, but after a while when his nerves calmed down a bit, he felt oblivious to the people around him.
Harry and Louis’ voice blended beautifully together on the chorus and the boys realised they did well on their first performance amidst all the anxiety and toiling hard week long.
"I hear Jerusalem bells are ringing,
Roman Cavalry choirs are singin..."
When their performance was over, all five of them hugged each other tightly. They knew they did a much better job than they had expected. Zayn finally glanced at Amy after he pulled out of his hug from Louis, she was clapping and smiling but wasn’t looking at him. She was looking at Simon who was saying something.
“God she’s beautiful,” Zayn whispered when his mic was lowered down. He wasn’t shaking anymore, and now he couldn’t take his eyes away from Amy. It was like no one else mattered to him, like none of the other people in the room existed anymore that his eyes had finally landed on her. He couldn’t focus much on what Simon was saying about their performance.
“… Dan, Amy, what did you think of the performance?” Dermot asked.
Zayn started swivelling as he anticipated Amy speaking. He didn’t register whatever Dan was saying anyways. And then finally, Amy picked up the mic.
“Hello boys,”
Zayn’s stomach got a funny feeling when he heard her voice, directly addressing him,
“That was such a beautiful performance it really feels like y'all were meant to be together as a band. I wasn't thinking of Coldplay, you guys made the song yours, absolutely killed it! keep up the good work.” She spoke in her ever so confident voice, in a posh British accent that sounded like flute in Zayn's ears. The words kept repeating on their own in his head even after Amy had kept the mic down and now was looking towards Cheryl. Zayn tried hard to keep himself sane as he quietly walked off the stage. He felt like his legs were made of jelly, but at least the performance was over. The nerves had finally settled down.
"We smashed it boys!" Liam shrieked. Harry and Louis sat beside each other this time and Zayn sat beside them with Niall and Liam on the other side.
“It feels so good!” Harry chirruped. His shiny green eyes twinkling with excitement, Zayn thought the dimples made him look really cute.
Zayn only nodded with half a smile.
”you’re okay right?” Louis asked genuinely.
”I..err.. I still can’t believe…” Zayn started with hesitation.
”I know right?” Harry cut him in between innocently thinking Zayn meant about the performance.
“…yeah.” Zayn said softly. Louis noticed this, but didn’t push it any further if Zayn didn’t want to elaborate.
For the rest of the show, Amy didn’t look at the contestants but she kept laughing and clapping for everyone and Zayn felt like he could get lost in her big kohled eyes forever if given a chance.
After the shoot for the day was over and Zayn stared at Amy until she disappeared behind the very doors, the boys along with the other contestants filed outside the studio for their designated vans to come and pick them up, to drop off at the X Factor House.
"Dan said we looked cute together," Harry smiled so wide his dimples were prominent even under dim lightings outside the studio.
Zayn sat quietly in the back of the car, he knew Louis was bubbling to ask him. He knew Louis was going to whenever they’re alone. But something inside Zayn pushed him to speak up once all of them were inside their car. Confrontations are not Zayn's forte when he is at the receiving end but something inside him ignited a courage fire this time.
“I think I fancy Amy,” Zayn spoke, with every fibre in his body fighting the urge to dig a hole and bury themselves inside it.
All of them went quiet and looked straight at him, but he looked at Louis.
“yeah mate,” Liam said, “she’s gorgeous. I find her more beautiful than the one who played Hermione.”
Louis' mouth was open with a little hint of smile on the curve of his lips. Harry was frowning with his head swinging from Zayn to Louis, almost accusing them of keeping a secret from him.
“Oh C’mon, Hermione girl is insanely beautiful!” Niall argued.
Louis kept staring at Zayn. Niall and Liam were still bantering. Zayn took a deep breath and finally spoke, “I know she doesn’t remember me, but I’ve met her before. I’ve been to the Potter sets.”
“you’ve WHAT?” Louis finally exclaimed as his small blue eyes widened.
“you know my elder sister, Donya?” Zayn explained only to Louis, “she was a part of the Potter films, I saw Amy for the first time there.”
While Niall and Liam were now figuring who was the better actor amongst Amy and Emma, Harry and Louis had all their ears listening to Zayn.
“So it was on the set of Goblet of Fire…” he began.
Flashback 2004 - London, on the set of Goblet of Fire:
It was a bright sunny morning in Leavesden London, where the other Londoners woke up to go to work and school per usual, a few select fortunate kids casted in the Potter Film Series were excited to shoot the ‘Yule Ball’ scene. The Great Hall seen in the first three films was transformed into a Wizarding Prom event. The long tables and stools were gone to give space for every student and staff to fit in. There were decorations appropriate to the scene with silver and white ribbons everywhere. The trademark hanging candles were gone and huge Christmas Tree was placed with similar silver decorations on it. A glass fountain was also present with several drinks placed at the foot of it.
“Family and Friends this way please!” announced the assistant director over his megaphone as the addressed people filed in a line to follow the instructions.
One of the families that turned up to see their loved one act were the Maliks. Trisha Malik, a beautiful women in her mid thirties, had come to support her eldest daughter Doniya who portrayed an integral character, ‘Parvati Patil’ on the fourth Potter film - Goblet of Fire, along with her younger kids, Zayn and Waliyha.
“Mumma will we get to see Donnie before the shoot? I want to see her in the costume!” squeaked the little girl, Waliyha.
Her elder brother, eleven year old Zayn nudged her in the ribs, “keep quiet Waliyha, don’t be rude.”
”Keep walking kids, don’t stagnant the line,” their mother pushed them ahead gently.
To say that the set was huge would be an understatement. Zayn and his sisters had read all of the books that the films were based on, and they both knew how much Doniya wanted to be a part of it. A couple of years ago, she auditioned for the part of Jennifer Potter, the lead character. But instead it went to another desi British child actor, who three films later had become a fan favourite along with the other three leads.
As they moved along the other family members towards their designated space, Waliyha couldn’t help but constantly look up in awe of the set.
“It is so huge!” she whispered to Zayn.
Zayn just nodded silently agreeing to her as it truly was magnificent to be present there, being a part of history in making. Zayn looked up and realised the amount of wiring and green screen, which he didn’t know the purpose of, that was used to film a small scene.
“Oh look they’re starting!” Waliyha pointed at the big doors of the Great Hall, where the camera was being set up. None of the leads were visible as yet, and Zayn couldn’t wait any longer to see his favourite Daniel Radcliffe - the child actor playing Harry Potter, protagonist of the series.
“okay roll camera…” said a voice above their heads, echoing the room, “sound… alright everyone, SILENCE!”
The room fell quite in an instant. Zayn and Waliyha stopped giggling and were now really excited. Trisha was smiling endlessly in anticipation of her daughter walking through the door.
“LIGHTS, CAMERA….. and ACTION!”
A beautiful melody echoed through the speakers as the camera trolley was pushed behind on a pre-laid track in co-ordination with the opening of the great door.
Right in front stood a beautiful young man in tailored black suit with a familiar face beside him. Having read the books, Zayn instantly realised they were the characters of Cedric Diggory and Jennifer Potter standing in the front with Victor Krum and Hermione Granger just behind them. All of them walked in a rehearsed manner with utmost grace and expressions. Waliyha went on her tip toes to look beyond the second couple as behind them were Harry Potter and Parvati Patil.
When their sister finally came into view hand in hand with Daniel Radcliffe, Zayn and Waliyha tried their best to not make a sound and ruin the scene until the director instructs any further. Trisha was incredibly proud of her daughter as she watched her perform the choreography with Daniel Radcliffe with tears of pride in her eyes.
After the director shouted “cut!” all of the room started clapping. It was then when Zayn’s eyes landed on Jennifer Potter. He had seen the three films that preceded, but never really appreciated how beautiful the actor was in real life. He was more invested in the hero Harry Potter but never really realised Jennifer’s power as a character until he saw the actor, ironically.
Zayn didn’t know if magic existed in real life but something about being on a set of a film about magic made him unable to take his eyes off her.
Her perfect lilac dress that fell till her ankles as she wore a matching pair of heels, with her hair styled with golden glitter, Amy Singh looked nothing short of an angel.
As if all of it wasn’t enough, Doniya started talking to her as soon as the scene was approved by the director and minutes later, both of them started walking towards where Zayn stood. He still couldn’t take his eyes off as they kept walking towards him. Trisha and Waliyha walked ahead of him in excitement to greet Doniya while Zayn was busy being confused at why his stomach was feeling funny. He still couldn’t take his eyes off Amy, while feeling a little tingle behind his navel.“Mum!” Doniya shouted and waved her hand towards them. Trisha waved back as she beamed with pride.
“Mum,” Doniya finally reached their place as she introduced, “meet Amy.”
Amy’s big brown eyes twinkled towards Patricia as she gestured, “namaste!'
Trisha placed a hand over Amy’s head to bless her, “that’s Zayn and Waliyha, Doniya’s younger siblings.”Amy instantly looked at Zayn, still beaming with warmth, “Hello!”
Waliyha shook hands with Amy a lil’ too enthusiastically. Zayn was stunned. It was as if he hadn’t seen a more beautiful girl. He couldn’t help but notice her beautiful smile, her perfect big eyes and the ethereal purple costume she was wearing. Zayn never felt more jealous of the boy Amy was paired opposite on the film, who was easily the most good looking man in the room himself.
When Amy was gone to meet other families, Zayn finally asked Doniya.”Who’s that guy?” eyeing Amy’s on screen partner, Cedric Diggory.
”Robert Pattinson,” Doniya replied instantly, “isn’t he gorgeous?”
“he is, what a good looking young man,” Trisha appreciated.
“poor lad gets killed in the end,” Doniya added. Zayn felt happier at that statement.
“Don’t give out spoilers!” Waliyha pouted.
Trisha giggled, “haven’t you already read the book almost for twice now?”
“that’s not the point mumma!” Waliyha protested.
Now everyone laughed. Zayn secretly searched for Amy but she was now gone.
The day went by in a similar fashion as Waliyha hopped in her place being a little too happy to be there, Trisha couldn’t be any more proud of her daughter while Zayn’s eyes just kept looking for one person. He himself didn’t know why he was doing it but the butterflies in his stomach lead his way. The shoot for the day finally wrapped up and slowly people were changing back into their own clothes and heading back home.
The Maliks waited for Doniya to change and come as the lights were turning off and the crew grew smaller in size. Costumes were being folded carefully to be used again tomorrow, chairs were stacked one upon another and closets were being locked. While walking back outside the set, Zayn finally spotted Amy silently grabbing a cup of coffee from another actor on the film. As his feet felt wobbly, Zayn immediately recognised him as the one who portrays the anatagonist - Draco Malfoy.
Both of them were smiling at each other and were standing a little too close. Even in simple blue jeans and a black leather jacket with her jet black hair flowing down her back openly, Amy looked perfect.
