Chapter 1: The Yamaha Highschool

Chapter Text

Tokyo was probably Japan's signature city. Many people have a very romantic vision of what it would be like to live in the land of the rising sun. Of course, the culture, technological advances and education in Japan are rich and show great interest from everyone outside. But even in places like this, there are problems.

- HAAAA!- A thirteen-year-old boy was fighting in a parking lot. He punched another boy a little taller than him in the face, knocking him to the ground. Blood flew into the air due to the force of the boy's punch.

It was a child with dark blue hair and eyes as blue as his hair. He had messy bangs on his face and some strands sticking up. He had some wounds on his face showing that he had also taken a few blows.

- OK! OK! WE DON'T MESS WITH THE SETASHOU PEOPLE ANYMORE! WE PROMISE! - Shouts the scared boy, the one who the blue-haired boy had just punched and was on the ground. Two other kids were groaning in pain around him. Probably because they had been defeated as well.

- THIS IS KAITO! SETASHOU'S TRIUMPH! – Shouted some boys. They had the same uniform as the blue-haired boy. Everyone seemed to have gathered in that parking lot to watch the fight.

- If those pieces of shit bother anyone at our school again, just call me. – Said Kaito, spitting some blood on the ground and leaving the scene. With his hands in his pockets.

- He has a tense reputation, doesn't he? – Asked a boy to another boy next to him.

- Despite having a reputation as the strongest in our school, he practically doesn't talk to anyone. He's a strange kid. – Said the boy.

...

- Honestly, you got into fights again. – Said a woman with blue hair and brown eyes. Kaito was sitting on the couch at home with his mother bandaging his cheek. It hurt a little but he didn't care. - I had to do this, the boys at Mizu school are getting upset with the guys at my school! - Kaito says.

- Fighting is never the solution, Kaito! You should call someone responsible. If this is happening, you should have talked to me. - The boy's mother says, finishing putting the last bandage on Kaito's forehead.

- Uhm... I'm not a weakling who needs help with everything... - Kaito says with his arms crossed, showing frustration, after all he had defended people, why did he deserve to be reprimanded for that?

- I know, dear... but your mother hates to see you getting hurt, you know? She wouldn't want to lose another man from her house. - The woman says, instead of using a stern voice, she has a maternal sweetness in her words, seeming to disarm Kaito.

- I'm sorry, mom, I just... I don't like to see injustice. - Kaito says, with his head down. - I know, honey... but please, try not to get hurt and look for other ways to resolve conflicts. - Says the woman, kissing the boy on the forehead. Kaito gives a slight smile at his mother's action.

...

- Hey Kaito! Do you want to go out during lunch? Shimizu brought some hentai mangas, hehehe, we can take a look under the stairs. - Says a boy about Kaito's age. Catching him during break time, just as he was about to leave the classroom.

- No thanks, I have more important things to do. - Says Kaito, turning his back and continuing on his way.

- I tell you, he's a lonely grump. - Says another boy with his hand on the shoulder of the one who tried to call Kaito.

- I don't know, man... he's really cool when he's defending us...

Kaito was walking towards the roof with his snack, climbing the steps of the stairs. He liked being alone, he didn't need to have any responsibility towards people, he didn't need to worry about them hurting him or abandoning him when he needed them most, he didn't need to go through what he went through with his father again... he was fine alone and if it depended on him he would continue to be alone.

Upon entering the school roof, Kaito instead of being faced with a landscape of clouds and a completely empty place like usual, he noticed that there was already a group of people on the roof. He was ready to leave because he wanted to be alone, however...

- S-stop it!

- You really are a big baby, huh! At this age, can't you speak properly?! - Asks a girl with a mean tone in her voice.

Kaito turns to face what was happening. It was a group of five children about his age, two girls and three boys. They were around a girl with cyan hair on the ground, one of the girls was pulling one of her pigtails, making the girl grunt in pain.

- Stop it, pwease! I didn't do anythi t-to you!

- She really can't pronounce a sentence without saying a word wrong, hahaha! How ridiculous! - Says one of the boys, kicking the girl in the back, making her fall to the ground. The girl curls up into a ball, trying to find comfort in herself, letting tears flow from her eyes.

- I'm sorry, mom, but... if I let something like that happen in front of me... - Kaito starts walking towards that group, who were laughing at the girl's misfortune and sadness.

- ... I WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO LOOK AT MY FATHER ANYMORE! - Kaito thinks, grabbing one of the students by the shoulder and turning him around. The boy looks confused at the new presence, but before he can think of anything, he takes a cross punch right in the middle of the face, making him fall to the ground.

- WHAT IS THIS?! - The girl screams, getting everyone's attention.

- Shit, it's Kaito... - Says the other girl, getting nervous when she notices the blue-haired boy.

- You think it's cool to play with a defenseless girl when you have the numerical advantage, don't you?! THEN WHY DON'T YOU TRY TO PLAY WITH ME! - Kaito screams, advancing on the group like a ferocious beast.

The little girl with cyan hair stared at the boy in shock. No one had helped her so far. He certainly wasn't from her class because she would recognize his face. Even though he was a stranger, he was now facing five people just because they were hurting him, but... but why was he hurting himself for her?

- WE'RE GOING TO TELL THE PRINCIPAL ABOUT THIS! - The girl who was the leader of the group shouted, wiping the blood from her nose and running away with the rest of the group.

Kaito was panting, his face showed wounds and blood was running from his nose. He wiped it with the sleeve of his uniform and turned around to face the girl.

- I'm Shion Kaito, ugh... what's your name? - Kaito asked, offering a hand to the girl. She accepted Kaito's help to get up.

- H-Hatsune... Hatsune Miku... it's a pleasure to meet yo... a-and tha you for helping me back there. - Miku said. Kaito looks at her with one eyebrow raised, because she was talking like that.

- Sorry about that... d-don't hit me, okay? I speak wrong and sometime I mix up some wors... they call me a big baby in class, but I'm not! I'm trying! - Miku says, raising her voice, showing that she is frustrated with the whole situation.

- Hey, hey, calm down, okay? I'm not going to hit you because of this. - Kaito says, his hands up defensively, to show that he doesn't want a conflict with her.

- W-won't yo?

- Of course not! Stupid reason to fight with someone! - Kaito says, raising his voice, indignant with Miku's situation.

- Look... if anyone in your class bothers you again, you come talk to me, okay? I'll beat up anyone who

- Really? Would you d-do that for me? - Miku asks, her eyes shining with admiration.

- Heh, of course. - Kaito says, smiling at Miku. Then suddenly Kaito hears a loud growl coming from somewhere, almost like the roar of a monster. Paying a little more attention, he realizes that it was Miku's stomach that was growling.

- Oh, that's right, it's break time, we have to eat. - Kaito says, running to where he had left his lunchbox so he could fight with that group.

He sits with his back against the guardrail next to Miku and opens his lunchbox with a sandwich made by his mother. Another tangerine cut in two and a grape juice from a carton.

- Uhm... aren't you going to eat? - Kaito asks, ready to put half of the sandwich in his mouth. Miku just shakes her head as she sits next to Kaito, hugging her own legs.

- They... thre my lunch in the trash when they came to both me. - Miku says, a little sad. She then notices something close to her face and stares at half of Kaito's sandwich.

- You need to eat, Miku. A girl with a beautiful voice like yours needs to eat well to keep it going. - Says Kaito.

- D-Do yo really fhink?! That I have a beautiful voice?! - Asks Miku blushing deeply, Kaito gives a cute little laugh for having provoked a positive reaction in her.

- Of course I do, so eat it, okay?

Miku agrees to share Kaito's snack. The strongest and loneliest delinquent at Setashou School finally got a friend. However, that was a long time ago.

"Four years later"

- KAITO! HURRY UP! YOU'RE GOING TO BE LATE FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL! - Shouts Kaito's mother's voice coming from downstairs.

- Oh shit... OKAY I'M GOING! - Shouts Kaito, getting up from his room.

Now seventeen, Kaito had grown quite a bit, now standing at 5.9 feet tall. His hair had also gotten longer, especially in his bangs, but nothing that went past his shoulders. He got up from his bed where he slept wearing only boxer shorts, showing that he had a lean but defined and strong physique, with a few scars scattered around due to the various fights he had been involved in.

Kaito's room was quite tidy for a teenager. He had a desk with his computer and some papers scattered around with drafts of what looked like song lyrics. Hanging from the ceiling was a sandbag and some dumbbells with weights thrown on the floor in that area. He had a guitar leaning against the corner of his room next to the lamp and some posters of anime and series.

- Another year at that school, right? - Kaito thought as he entered the bathroom on the second floor. He turned on the shower and started to shower while thinking about how things would be this year. In general, Kaito was someone who was very unambitious, he just wanted to stay in his own corner, living peacefully.

- Well, it doesn't matter what happens... it's just going to be another year like all the others. - Kaito thinks.

The blue-haired teenager comes down the stairs of his house already wearing his school uniform. Which featured a classic set of a white dress shirt with a jacket and black pants. Kaito wore the jacket open.

- Excited for your second year of high school? - Asks Kaito's mother with a slight smile, placing his coffee on the table. It was rice with fish and an egg to go with it.

- Not really, each year the subjects get harder and harder. - Says Kaito lazily, starting to eat.

- You haven't joined any clubs yet, have you? Being part of a club, no matter what it is, is good for your resume. - Says the woman, sitting at the table and eating with her son.

- You don't need to have that much on your resume to work in construction or at a convenience store. – Says Kaito, drinking a cup of coffee.

- Here you go with that kind of talk... do you really have no ambitions, Kaito? Nothing you wanted to do? A dream? - Asks the boy's mother. Kaito looks thoughtfully at his food.

- No... I think my dream is to live normally, not everyone has to have extravagant goals in life like being a dentist or whatever. - Says Kaito with an uncomfortable expression, finishing his coffee and getting up from the table.

- I'm going, mom, see you later. - Says Kaito.

- And don't get into trouble at school!

- Come on, I haven't gotten into fights for years. - Says Kaito, giving his mother a small smile and then leaving the house.

The school that Kaito studied at wasn't very far from his house. He just walked a few blocks, passing through the streets of other houses. Then through a small playground that was there, where there were some children playing and then he arrived in front of the gigantic building. Where several new and old students were returning to classes.

- Yamaha School... here we go for another year. - Said Kaito, continuing his path forward. But he didn't notice that there was a person standing at the entrance of the school, watching him with a surprised expression.

- Wait... is that... is that Kaito? - Asked Miku to herself. She was a little taller than when she was a child, but not much.

Measuring 5.2, the girl's hair had grown a lot, still keeping the pigtails style, but her two ponytails were almost reaching the floor due to the size of her hair. She wore the school's female uniform, a sailor-style t-shirt with red details and a red skirt that was a little above the knee. She wore black socks that went above her knee and white shoes. She had a yellow tie around the collar of her t-shirt to complete her uniform.

- No... I doubt Kaito would actually be here... it would be too much of a coincidence. - Miku thought, a little sadly, remembering her childhood friend. She didn't realize she had been standing for so long in front of the school until someone tapped her on the back.

- OW! - A female voice shouts behind Miku.

- Oh my god, I'm sorry! - Miku says, turning around, ready to help the girl.

- No, no, hehehe, sorry about that, Teto gets a little distracted sometimes. - The girl says. She had red hair and red eyes. She had a very different haircut than the ones they usually wear, with pigtails, but they looked like screws or drills pointing downwards in her hair.

- Your name is Teto, right? I'm Hatsune Miku, a first-year student, and I'm a new student here. - Miku says, helping the red-haired girl stand up.

- I'm Kasane Teto! And I'm a new student at this school too! We can help each other! I don't even know where the stage is to watch those lectures on the formalities of the beginning of the year. - Teto says, sticking her tongue out shyly because she's a little clumsy.

- Well... I had a map here I think... uhmmm let's see... - Miku says, taking her cell phone out of her pocket and trying to read the map, but she wasn't the best reader she had.

- I know! Let's ask that girl with the cell phone over there! - Teto says, pointing to a blonde girl with a big ponytail. She had golden eyes and a strong stoic expression on her face.

- How do you know she can help us? What if she's a first year too? - Miku asks.

- Watch~ - Teto says, winking at Miku and then walking towards the blonde girl. Stopping in front of her. The girl stares at Teto with a confused expression, waiting for her to say whatever she was planning.

- I'm Kasane Teto! And I'm lost! - Teto says with her hands on her hips, announcing the sentence as if it were something to be proud of. Miku stares at Teto with her jaw dropped, what kind of social skills were those?

- What? - Asks the confused blonde.

- D-DON'T CARE ABOUT HER! I-I-I'm Hatsune Miku! A-and we'd like to know where the auditorium of this school is. - Miku says with a nervous smile, quickly pulling Teto to her side.

- I'm Akita Neru, did you guys think it would be easier to just follow the crowd of students? Everyone is required to participate in the first ceremony. - Neru says, keeping her expression stoic.

- Seriously? - Miku and Teto say at the same time.

- you gotta be kidding... follow me then. - Neru says, taking the lead by walking in front.

Miku, Teto and Neru managed to get to the auditorium where it was full of students. Miku really didn't like being in the middle of a crowd but it was the kind of thing you had to do. The ceremony didn't last that long. There was an introduction by the school staff and the teachers who would be responsible for the classes. And then some basic instructions and a bit of history about the place they were in. And then the students were dismissed to their classrooms to finally start the school year.

- This year you're coming to our club, aren't you?! - Asks a girl with long pink hair and blue eyes, having an energetic and lively samba. This girl was following Kaito to the classroom.

- I already told you that I'm not interested in the music club. - Says Kaito, keeping his voice neutral.

- Come on Luka, you've been trying to call Kaito for so long and until now this airhead doesn't want to make use of his talent. - Says another girl next to him with short bob-style hair. Having a light brown like her eyes. She had a velvety, almost maternal voice and a sweet smile for the girl named Luka.

- Come on Kaito! It's going to be fun! You even play with us sometimes, why don't you come be an official member of the group? - Asks Luka, with both hands holding Kaito's arm and shaking him. The boy seems to be slightly uncomfortable, but nothing that makes him yell at the energetic girl.

- It's just a hobby to distract me. Shouldn't you two try to recruit newbies? After all, after the third-years graduate, you can't keep a club with just two people. - Kaito says, turning to face the two girls.

- IT'S TRUE, MEIKO! THE STUDENT COUNCIL IS GOING TO GET ON OUR FEET LIKE THIS! - Luka shouts dramatically.

- Calm down, Luka. The council always gives clubs some time to recruit newbies. But Kaito is right about that. We need to focus on the newbies. - Meiko replies.

- I'm always right. - Kaito says with a slightly cynical smile.

- You got away with it this time, Kaito, but next time you won't! - Luka says, pointing at Kaito, almost as a threat. The blue-haired man just decides to ignore it and go to his desk to start classes.

- These two could stop bothering me. – Kaito thinks.

...

- Hey, are you planning on joining a club? – Teto asks, speaking softly to Miku and Neru. The two girls were lucky (or unlucky in Neru's opinion) and sat next to each other in their classroom.

- Oh, I really want there to be a music club! – Miku says, excited about the topic.

- Really? Are you a musician, Miku? – Teto asks. Neru seems to stop listening to what the teacher was saying to pay attention to the conversation between the two girls.

- Yes! I love music and I love to sing! I've never been to a club before, so well... I think it would be my first time really interacting with other artists. – Miku says.

- I want to be in the music club too! I love to sing and dance! – Teto says excitedly.

- I think you would have to join a dance club too, don't you think? – Neru asks.

- And you, Neru? Is there a club you'd like to join? – Miku asks.

- Uhm... actually I was thinking about the music club too... it's a great coincidence that the three of us are interested in that, don't you think? – Neru says.

- It's DESTINY! The three of us are going to be famous Idols all over Japan! – Teto says excitedly.

- Keep it down, Teto! We're still in class. – Neru says, pulling the girl by the tie so she can whisper in her ear more aggressively.

- Heee, that's not a bad idea, Teto. – Miku says.

- Seriously? – Teto and Neru ask at the same time.

- Well... I really want to be able to make a living with my music, I have this dream, you know? That my voice can reach everyone and that they like my art! That my music makes people have happy moments and feel comfortable, just like the music of many artists does to me. – Miku says with passion and conviction in her voice, which managed to impress Teto and Neru when she spoke. When she noticed her two new friends staring at her for a while, Miku started to blush.

- W-w-well maybe I said something too cheesy, s-s-sorry. – Miku says, getting nervous, using one of her fingers to tangle her hair.

- I thought what you said was really cool! The three of us are going to become idols together! – Teto says, putting her arm around Neru's neck and giving her a kind of affectionate hug.

- I can respect someone who speaks with such conviction. – Neru says, giving a rare smile.

...

- You're already sleeping on the first day of school, huh? – Kaito asks, poking Luka on the head.

- Huh? What? Who wrote down the sign? – the pink-haired girl says, standing up alertly, looking around. With a little drool on her lips.

- You really are a sleepyhead, you know? Meiko is making advances on the new students while you're sleeping here, airhead. – Kaito said, giving Luka a light smack on the head. It didn't really hurt, but it got Kaito's message across.

- WHAT?! DAMN THAT COMFORTABLE TABLE TO HAVE A GOOD SLEEP! I'M GOING MEIKO! – Luka shouted like a soldier going into battle, running out of the classroom like a flash, she attracted strange looks from her classmates who were still in the room.

- Ha... what an eccentric girl. – Kaito said, shaking his head and sighing.

Kaito opened his backpack, grabbed his lunchbox and headed out of the room. He went up the stairs to the school roof. He had always been someone who liked to eat outdoors. Even though he was now a more social person, with Meiko and Luka as friends, Kaito still felt this need to be alone.

- Oh... it seems like there are people here already. – Kaito said, ready to leave. But he starts to hear a familiar voice on the other side of the door to the roof, his eyes widen and memories come back to him.

- It can't be that...

- Here, if you really want to enter the world of artists you need to have social media. - Neru says, showing her Instagram. Where she posted some videos of herself singing and playing some instruments. She had an impressive number of followers.

- But I have social media, look at this. - Teto says, showing her cell phone to the two girls. Showing them a low-quality TikTok video of a pineapple with a caption in Arabic.

- I didn't understand. - Miku says.

- Much less me. - Neru replies.

- Wow, you really don't have a sense of humor, huh? - Teto says.

- M-Miku?

Then the whole world had stopped. It was as if the whole world had ceased to exist at that moment, leaving only two people, Kaito and Miku. The cyan-haired girl gets up from the ground and stares at Kaito's vision, blinking several times thinking that this might be a hallucination.

- Miku... is that really you? – Kaito asks, he needed confirmation, he needed to know that the girl was really Miku.

- Kaito? KAITO! – Miku smiles widely with tears streaming from her eyes, the girl quickly runs towards Kaito and throws herself into his arms. Kaito almost falls to the ground but manages to stay standing, picking Miku up in his arms and hugging her back. Teto and Neru just stare at each other, slightly surprised by what just happened.

- KAITO! I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU STUDY HERE! IT'S SO GOOD TO SEE YOU AGAIN!

- It's been four years, hasn't it? I'm sorry I got kicked out of Setashou, back then I was really irresponsible. – Kaito says affectionately, stroking Miku's hair.

- You say it as if you weren't expelled because of me! – Miku says, moving away from the hug a little so she can better see the boy who was now seventeen years old.

- You've grown a lot! - Miku says.

- And you've grown a little bit even~ - Kaito says provocatively, receiving a light slap on his shoulder.

- Stop it! I'm average height for a Japanese teenager! Oh... - Miku then remembers that her two new friends were staring at the whole scene. She quickly stands up straight, moving away a little from Kaito, coughing awkwardly and blushing profusely.

- T-Teto, N-neru... t-this here is Kaito, h-he's a childhood friend of mine, we haven't seen each other for four years. - Miku says, introducing Kaito who waves to the two girls.

- Shion Kaito, nice to meet you two. - Kaito says.

- Heeeee, Miku, you didn't tell us you had a boyfriend. - Teto says.

- H-H-HE'S NOT MY BOYFRIEND! HE'S MY FRIEND! WE HAVEN'T SEEN EACH OTHER IN FOUR YEARS, ROOF! - Miku says, getting tangled up in her own words and starting to ramble and justify why she and Kaito weren't dating. Kaito doesn't seem to care about the accusation and keeps his expression neutral.

- It seems that my roof isn't just mine now. - Kaito says, changing the subject to Miku, don't die of spontaneous combustion.

- It was Miku's idea for us to eat here, she said she likes being on the roof. And I think now we know why. - Neru says, looking away to the girl with blue hair who gives a shy smile.

- I heard a little of what you were talking about, do you really plan on being an artist, Miku? - Kaito asks, staring at Miku.

- Yes! I've told you since we were kids that I wanted to be a famous singer! And I still maintain that! - Miku says, returning to her usual cheerful self.

- Well, if you two are also interested in this, I know two people who might like this kind of thinking. - Kaito says with a smile, taking out his cell phone and calling Luka's number.

...

- THAT'S IT! GOOD KAITO! YOU DID WELL FOR ONCE IN YOUR LIFE. - Luka says excitedly. Kaito had called Luka and Meiko, telling them that he had found three new people who seemed to be interested in the music club.

- Those who aren't in the club are doing a better job than those who are, it seems. - The blue-haired one says with an ironic tone.

- Our club hasn't resumed its activities yet, after all, it's only the first day. But we're very happy that you three want to participate in our activities. I'm Haigo Meiko, it's a pleasure to meet you. - Meiko says.

- I'm Megurine Luka! Welcome to the best club in school! - Says the girl with pink hair.

- I'm Kasane Teto! And I'm going to be the king of pirates! – Teto says.

- Akita Neru... what? – Neru says, looking at Teto, not understanding the reference.

- I'm Hatsune Miku. It's so good to finally be in a music group! – Miku says, clapping her hands excitedly.

- Well, I think we'd better get back to eating because the break is about to end. – Meiko says, reminding everyone that they hadn't eaten anything yet.

- Hmm... and here I was thinking that this year would be just another year like all the others... maybe things for me are starting to get a little more hectic... - Kaito thinks, looking at all the new faces that were with him this year, but especially at Miku. He softens his expression as he looks at her.

- It's good to have you back, Miku.

Chapter 2: Small meeting at the cafe

Summary:

Miku tells an intense story about the time she and Kaito were students at Setashou High School. After school, the music club goes to a place Meiko suggests for a meeting.

Chapter Text

- Tell us Miku, where do you know that Kaito boy from? - Asks Teto. She, Miku, and Neru were sitting at their desks together in a class that the teacher had left open for the students to get to know each other. After all, it was only the first day of school.

- Oh, Kaito? We're childhood friends. We studied together for a year at Setashou School. When I was a child, I had a slight delay in my speech and because of that, I was bullied a lot by the other kids in my class... but one day Kaito caught them bothering me and he kicked everyone's ass! Since that day, we've always been together. - Says Miku, smiling slightly as she remembers her moments together with Kaito when they were children.

- I heard him saying that he was expelled from school, if you feel comfortable telling us what happened. - Says Neru, not using her cell phone at the moment. Having a genuine interest in Miku.

- No, no, it's not really a big secret or anything like that. Of course, at the time it was scary, but nowadays I can even remember it fondly... he was always a very sweet person despite everything. - Miku thinks, memories of the past flooding her mind.

"Four years ago"

- Damn... I'm really having trouble with Kanji. - Miku says, looking at her test, seeing the disappointing grade on the paper.

- Kaito is a year older... could he help me with this? - Miku thinks. The girl was lost in her own thoughts at her desk, not realizing that she was at the teacher's desk. There was a man staring at her with a predatory expression, he had a mischievous smile on his face as he looked Miku up and down, focusing mainly on her bare legs because she was wearing a skirt.

Setashou School's dismissal time arrived and the students who had finished their cleaning chores were heading home. Miku was organizing her materials until someone called her name.

- Miku, can you please stay a little after class? - Asks a tall, older man with glasses. He was Miku's homeroom teacher.

- Oh? Yes, Mr. Yamashita. – Miku said, nodding.

Miku went to the bathroom before talking to the teacher. He would probably talk about her Kanji grades... well, as long as he had some idea to help.

- Oh, hey Miku. – Kaito said, appearing in front of Miku. The two of them were coincidentally in the same hallway.

- Hi Kaito! How are yo? – Miku asked excitedly when she saw her best friend.

- I'm leaving, aren't you leaving yet? – Kaito asked, noticing that the girl didn't have a backpack.

- Oh, not yet. Professor Yamashita wants to talk to me in person in the classroom, but I won't be long, okay? – Miku said, heading back to her classroom. Kaito looked at his friend disappearing into the hallway with a suspicious expression.

- I'm back, teacher! – Miku says as she enters the classroom. The teacher was standing in front of the classroom window, watching the students leave and seeing that now, he and Miku were alone.

- You have trouble speaking, don't you, Miku? – Asks the teacher.

- W-well... it's a problem I have... I-I'm already having sessions wiy a doctor to learn how to speak proper. - Miku says, a little embarrassed.

- That's really terrible, Miku, but you know that even for a problem like that I can't give you special treatment. After all, all my students are the same to me, and they all have their problems. – Says the teacher, turning to Miku with a smile, starting to walk towards her.

- Your grades have never been good in Japanese, not even in Kanji, Katakanã and Hiraganã... if things continue like this, you'll probably end up failing. – Says the teacher.

- N-no! I don't want to disappoint my parents even more! They always take such good care of me... - Miku says with a tearful voice, she didn't want to be more of a burden than she already was, both for her parents and for Kaito who always tried to help her. He would certainly worry even more if she failed.

- What a tragedy... a pretty little girl like you doesn't have a future because of something so small, don't you think? - Asks the teacher, circling Miku like a predator circling its prey.

- I-is there anything I can do?! Pwease, Mr. Yamashita! I'll do anything! I-I'll study triple time! - Says Miku, begging the teacher with her hands together.

- Well, I think you can help me and then I'll help you, Miku~ - Says the teacher.

Miku is happy that she could help her teacher with something. But then he picks Miku up and places her on the table. The girl is confused by the teacher's action, but realizes that her legs were open showing under her skirt and quickly puts her hands in front of her.

- T-teacher? - Asks Miku confused.

- You help me relax whenever I want and I'll give you the grade you need to pass~ - The man said, speaking softly near Miku's ears, licking the smaller girl's cheek, making Miku feel a horrible shiver all over her body. She then began to feel afraid, very afraid.

- Come on, Miku, if you scream or try to run away now, you could hurt yourself even more. I'm sure you don't want to be a girl who gives your parents problems, do you? They must expect a bright future from you. - The teacher said, starting to remove Miku's hands that were covering the middle of her skirt. He was an adult and Miku was a child, his words were easily manipulating her into believing that if she didn't do this, she would have no future.

- Now open your legs. - The man said in a demanding voice. For Miku, she had no choice but to do this, so she did as she was instructed.

- It's so cute fufufu, I promise you'll start to like it in no time~ - The man says, running his hands over Miku's legs until one of them goes up to her panties. Miku starts to cry, even trying to hold back the tears, she starts to cry. She had no choice.

- SON OF A BITCH!

Then suddenly that teacher gets punched in the middle of his face, making him stagger back. Miku looks at him in surprise, still standing on the teacher's desk. It was Kaito. He had come to save her once again, and his face is full of rage.

- K-KAITO! - Miku screams.

- WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE TO DO THIS TO A TEACHER?! - The man screams, with his hand on his cheek where Kaito had punched him.

- It looks like the rumors about you were true. You think kids like us don't talk about these things, don't you? But the girls comment on how there's a teacher with a sinister look who keeps staring at them from under the stairs, looking up their skirts! And who would have thought there would be a damn pedophile in this school? - Kaito says, walking towards Miku and taking the girl's hand, helping her to get up.

- Let's say this shit to the law and you'll end up with the police. - Kaito says, guiding Miku to the classroom door. However, Miku's Japanese teacher blocked the door, still keeping a smile on his face.

- You don't think you could punch me in the face and then leave like that? Do you think I'm going to let you ruin my life? - Asks the teacher.

- Kaito... - Miku was scared, she felt that something very bad was about to happen.

- Miku, when you find a way out, I want you to run out the door. - Kaito says, snapping his fingers. He didn't seem to be afraid, in fact he seemed to want it, he wanted to punch that damn guy in the face no matter what.

- But Kaito...

- I won't be able to beat him! That's why I need you to come with help to save me! - Kaito says in a strong voice.

- I won't let either of you leave here... MY LIFE WILL NOT BE RUINED BY TWO CHILDREN! - The teacher shouts, advancing towards the duo.

Kaito runs towards the Japanese teacher and rolls underneath him, managing to dodge the grab the teacher tried to give him. He quickly turns his body and gives a one-two combo to the man's face, who staggers back.

- Heh, is that all? Delinquent? - Asks the teacher, laughing at Kaito's attacks.

Kaito clearly has more fighting experience than the teacher he is fighting. However, the difference in their bodies is huge. There are weight categories in all martial arts and this is not for nothing. Height, weight, bone formation, all of this gives a huge advantage to the fighters. Kaito was just a thirteen-year-old child and at the moment he was fighting a forty-year-old adult, his blows did not have the power to hurt the man as they hurt the children he was fighting. But the opposite happened...

Kaito dodged another grab by going backwards, but he took a frontal kick in the middle of his chest, making him fall and roll on the ground, leaving the blue-haired boy completely breathless.

- I've never... taken a kick of that power in my entire life... - Kaito said to himself, getting up with difficulty. With just one blow, Yamashita managed to almost finish Kaito off while he barely seemed hurt by the boy's attacks.

- What happened? Did all your courage run out? - Yamashita asked, mocking Kaito, who was panting.

- So this is the difference between an adult and a child... it seems so obvious, but when you see it in practice... I realize how weak and fragile I am... however... I CAN'T LOSE! - Kaito thought, advancing again.

There is only one advantage that small bodies have against large bodies, which is a smaller area of impact. If a person knows how to dodge and has enough agility and dexterity, they can avoid blows more easily than people who are tall and have large bodies. Kaito has experience in fighting so he could read Yamashita's clumsy punches easily.

Kaito dodges a cross from the teacher and uses one of the tables in the room as a base to jump on the teacher's back and try to choke him with his arm.

- ARHG! DO YOU THINK THIS WILL WORK?! - The teacher screams, throwing himself backwards on the floor, crushing Kaito who screams in pain, but he refuses to let go of the man's neck.

- I need to keep... I need to keep the grip... the only way we humans have a chance against stronger animals without a weapon... is by choking them with our arms. - Kaito thinks, applying all his strength to the rear naked choke. However, Kaito's weight was too light for the teacher. Even though he was being choked, he had the strength to get up and fall with Kaito again on the floor, and getting up again to fall with him a third time on the floor.

- No... da... - Kaito thinks, the lack of air in his lungs, the pain of three broken ribs made Kaito release his grip on the man's neck and fall to the ground, motionless.

- You arf... like playing the hero, don't you? BUT THE REAL WORLD ISN'T LIKE THAT! - Says the teacher, stepping on Kaito's head, making him scream in pain as he puts even more weight on it.

- I'm going to get rid of you and your little friend today, and I'll have my life as a teacher back!

- YAMASHITA!

The Japanese teacher's smile falls to the ground when he hears an adult voice. He looks towards the exit of the room and notices the principal standing there with an irritated expression. Not only that, but all of his other coworkers were there with their arms crossed and giving him looks of disapproval and anger.

- KAITO! - Miku shouts, leaving the adults and running to where the boy was.

- Arf... I'm fine... Miku... - Kaito says with a failing voice, being helped by Miku to stand up.

- I think you have a lot of things to explain. – Says the principal.

"In the present day".

- My God, Miku... I'm so sorry that all this happened to you. - Teto says with a downcast expression, with a friendly hand on the girl's shoulder.

- It's okay... it was a long time ago and it was a scary experience... I think that nowadays I can deal better with what happened. - Miku says, trying to smile at Teto.

- But... how did Kaito get expelled? He was a hero that day, wasn't he? - Neru asks.

- It's just that... since the teacher didn't do anything to me, there was no concrete evidence that I was abused and Kaito had a reputation for being an uncontrollable delinquent at our school... they say that Professor Yamashita even used bribes to buy off the police... in the end, the story that was told was that Kaito had another bout of delinquency and now wanted to fight with the teachers. - Miku says with a sad voice.

- That... that's not fair... a guy like that should be free now! And the one who got screwed in the story was Kaito! – Teto says frustratedly.

- Not exactly. Before being expelled, Kaito said he wouldn't let someone like him roam free. That teacher then resigned from our school and went to teach at another one. I think Kaito did his own investigation and ended up finding proof that this teacher had possession of... ahm... wrong photos of children. – Miku says, not wanting to say the term for that horrible thing.

- Wow, at first glance he seems like a pretty sloppy and cynical guy, but he's actually pretty cool. – Neru says.

- Ahwwww that would make a great manga! The perfect little girl who wants to be a famous singer! And the heroic delinquent who always helps her from the shadows! You two make a great couple! – Teto says, patting Miku on the back.

- STOP SAYING WE'RE A COUPLE! WE MET AGAIN TODAY AFTER FOUR YEARS! – Miku says, blushing furiously.

"In the second year classroom at Yamaha High School."

- So, what's your story with that girl? – Luka asks, turning to talk to Kaito who was sitting at the table behind her.

- Miku? We're childhood friends and we studied together at Setashou. – Kaito says, not wanting to go into too much detail.

- Ahww, is that all? There's definitely more to it, the way she looks at you is much more than just friends. – Luka says in a provocative tone.

- Luka, I'm not so needy to fall in love with my childhood friend just because she went back to school with me. – Kaito says, taking his eyes off the book to look at the pink-haired girl.

- Still, what Luka said is true, Kaito. You can see a special relationship between the two of you. She managed to get rid of that stoic frown of hers pretty quickly. – Meiko comments, with a playful tone.

- Hey, I'm not a grumpy person. I always smile. – Kaito replies.

- Ironic smiles don't count. – Luka says, only to receive a look from Kaito.

- Childhood friends have that power over people, don't they? They remind us of times when things were simpler. – Kaito says with a quick excuse. In fact, he didn't really like to remember his time at Setashou.

- But now that she joined our music club, you could do it too, couldn't you? – Meiko asks, leaning closer to Kaito.

- No thanks, I'm not interested.

- Ahwww come on! Your old friend with ambitions of being a star showed up here at school and is now in our club! You have to join too, Kaito! – Luka says almost begging Kaito, who sighs, really bothered by this. Then the bell starts ringing, showing that the first day of classes at Yamaha school was finally over.

- Let's go. - Kaito says, grabbing his backpack and throwing it on his back, leaving Luka talking to himself about how he needs to join the music club.

- Geez... how can he just refuse a request from a girl as cute as me? - Luka asks, a little downcast.

- I think if you put your hair in pigtails, he might find it more charming~ - Meiko jokes.

Kaito goes ahead, but Luka and Meiko soon catch up with him at the school exit. Kaito looks up and smiles when he notices the presence of Miku, Teto and Neru, but mainly Miku. Her presence in front of him confirms that he wasn't just dreaming and that they really are friends again.

- Kaito! I want to say that I don't even know you, but I already think highly of you! - Teto says, saluting like a soldier meeting his superior. Kaito raises an eyebrow and looks at the two girls, looking for some answer to the redhead's behavior, but they just respond by shrugging.

- We're going to have a meeting! A music group meeting! – Meiko says excitedly.

- But the group hasn't even started again yet. – Kaito says.

- Kaito, Kaito, you need to see that everyone who will be part of the group is here! We can already move on with our activities. – Luka says with an arm around Kaito's shoulder.

- Well, I'm not part of the club. – Kaito says frowning.

- Wait... aren't you part of the school's music club? – Miku asks. She really thought that by the way he introduced her and her friends to the club he was also part of it.

- No, you can move on with your activities then, I'm going home. You wrote down my number correctly, didn't you Miku? – Kaito asks, before leaving, turning to the girl.

- Y-yes! I think so, I sent a confirmation message. – Miku says. Kaito checks his phone seeing the message from the unknown number, sending an emoji of a leek.

- Heh, it's really you. See you tomorrow. – Kaito says, waving his hand, saying goodbye to the five girls.

- So... where do you plan to have this kind of meeting? – Neru asks, without taking her eyes off the cell phone she was using.

- I have a place you'll like. – Meiko says, winking at the group.

The Yamaha school's music club meets after class at a small café a little near the center of Tokyo. It has old architecture with wooden plank floors, some tables with Victorian details and many plants scattered around the place. It was a pleasant environment to be in and that stood out quite a lot from the metropolis of Japan.

- What do you think? I have a part-time job here. – Meiko says, opening her arms to introduce the place. They were sitting at a table in the corner of the inn where there was a large sofa for when a large group of people came to the place.

- I thought it was very pretty! There are so many different plants around here, it must have been hard work to put so many flowers. – Miku says, looking around, seeing everything from roses to orchids scattered around.

- The smell here is great! Teto is getting hungry! Let's order something soon! – Says the red-haired girl, stomping her feet on the floor like a child.

- Ooh, I see you brought new friends today, Meiko. – A woman appears wearing a waitress dress for the five teenagers. She had brown hair that went down to her shoulders and amber eyes. She was an adult woman with a beauty mark under her lips with bright red lipstick.

- Hello, Mrs. Makino, are you working as a waitress today too? – Asks Meiko.

- I'm just helping my employees with the high demand, you three are new faces. – Says the woman named Makino, looking at the first-year trio.

- They're our new additions to our music club! – Says Luka.

- Yes, I'm Hatsune Miku, it's a pleasure to meet you, Makino.

- I'm Kasane Teto! And I want to order a little bit of everything from the menu! – Teto says, standing up and pointing to the menu to reinforce his point.

- I'm Akita Neru and she'll want a meatball sandwich on a baguette. - Neru says in a monotone voice, lowering Teto back onto the bench, forcing her to lower herself over her head.

- It seems that it's a rule of your school's music club to have eccentric people fufufu. I'm Takamine Makino and I'm the owner of this establishment. You can order whatever you want and it will all be deducted from Meiko's salary. - The woman says in a joking tone, Meiko's face blank and scared for a moment.

- Hahahaha it's a joke Meiko~ but isn't that blue-haired boy with you? - Asks the owner of the establishment, after recovering from laughing at Meiko's expense.

- Oh, he didn't want to come. We're having a meeting only for those who are members of the group! - Luka says, crossing her arms frustrated that Kaito still hasn't agreed to join the club.

- Huh? I really thought he was part of it... - Makino says. Realizing from Luka's reaction that this might be an internal problem.

The five girls ordered their food from Makino and it didn't take long for the food to arrive at the table. The flavor of the food in that café was truly delicious and it was even better accompanied by the stories that Miku was sharing about Kaito, which he certainly wouldn't approve of telling Luka and Meiko.

- Wow, to think that our Kaito would have had such a rebellious phase~ - Meiko says with an amused expression, taking a sip of her tea.

- I'm not surprised! Usually the quietest ones are the most dangerous. - Teto says, whispering to Luka and Meiko, pointing "discreetly" at Neru, who was eating a piece of cake.

- I'm on your side, Teto. - Neru says, giving a sharp look to the girl with screw-like hair, making Teto jump in fright, hugging one of Miku's arms as she sat next to her.

- But he really doesn't tell those stories to anyone... I'm sorry you had to go through that, Miku. - Luka says, with an empathetic voice for the cyan-haired girl.

- Well... nowadays I can deal with that experience well, but I kept having nightmares for a long time, and it even took me longer to be able to speak properly... when I get really nervous I end up mixing up my words too, but I'm always grateful to have Kaito as my friend. - Miku says. Just remembering that day with Professor Yamashita makes her bones tremble. But she always tries to find something good from her bad experiences, that's the only way she can move on.

- It's impressive that a child like him was able to deal with an adult like that, actually. - Neru says.

- I remember Kaito told me that he used to box, I think for three years. - Miku says.

- But Miku... seriously now... our first topic as the school's music club. - Luka says, drawing the attention of the three freshmen to the subject.

- You need to bring Kaito to the club.

- Wait, is this about bringing someone who doesn't want to be in the club to the club? Why can't we leave him alone? - Neru asks, not understanding the reasoning behind it.

- I agree with Neru for the first time that day. We can still be friends with him even without being in the same club. - Teto says. Miku doesn't respond to Luka's request.

- Look, I know it seems stupid that I'm asking someone who doesn't want to join the club to join anyway, but... I believe that Kaito has some personal block that makes him not want to join the club. - Luka says.

- Personal... block? - Miku asks, having a much more serious expression on her face.

- That's it! He often brings a guitar and plays alone on the school roof. I've seen him playing and singing and he does both very well! He says it's just a hobby, but wouldn't a music club be an opportunity to enjoy his hobby with other people? I just wish he could show more of his skills... - Luka says.

- Uhm... I'll talk to him. If Kaito is having any problems I won't let him go through it alone. - Miku says with determination in her eyes.

- It wasn't convenient for you at all that his best friend joined our club, was it? - Meiko asks Luka.

- What? Nooooo, I'm not using Miku to achieve my goals, who's accusing me of that? That's a serious accusation! - Luka says.

- I think this could be classified as extortion. - Neru says.

- WHOSE SIDE ARE YOU ON HERE?!

Kaito was back at his house. It hadn't taken long for the boy with blue hair and a sarcastic sense of humor to find his house. He opens the door with the key and takes off his shoes at the entrance.

- Mom! I'm back, you won't believe who's studying with me again. - Kaito says looking for his mother, finding her in the living room, watching the news.

- You seem very happy today Kaito. - The mother says, giving a satisfied smile to her son's happiness.

- Yes! After all, Miku is studying with me again! That girl I always talked about when I was studying at Setashou! – Kaito says.

- Oh, that's great, honey. Maybe now you're worried about having dreams and goals like a normal teenager so you can impress your childhood sweetheart. – Kaito's mother says provocatively, making her son roll his eyes.

- That's right, mom, any girl I get close to is my girlfriend, you already said that about Luka and Meiko. – She says, going to the kitchen of her house so she can make something to eat. Kaito's mother giggles at her son's excitement. He always seemed very mature and well-behaved for his age and now he was acting like a normal teenager.

- I don't think even famous people are immune to these types of people. – Kaito's mother says. Seeing the news in the newspaper that a new idol named Gumi had been attacked on stage by a fan who tried to kiss her in any way he could. The security guards didn't seem to be paying attention because it wasn't a big-budget show and took a while to help the girl who ended up hurting herself when she fell to the floor, being knocked down by her own fan. In the end, one of the security guards managed to notice that the music had stopped and helped the idol named Gumi who was standing away at the time.

Chapter Text

- Heeeeh, you really are eating a lot, you know? - Asks Kaito's mother, with an amused smile on her face as she watches the boy devour another piece of toast.

- What? You always say that I eat too little. - Says Kaito with his mouth full, drinking the coffee to help the toast go down.

- Nothing, it's just good to see you wanting to live again. - Says the woman.

- Mom, again I don't like Miku that way. I'm just happy to have someone I like back in my life. - Comments Kaito.

- But I didn't say anything about Miku, you said that, young man~

- ... Okay, I'm going to school, he said. - Says Kaito, just deciding to keep quiet so as not to get even more tangled up in his own words. He lazily puts his bag on his back and then leaves the house.

- Second day with Miku at school... how things are going to turn out. - Thinks Kaito as he opens the door to his house.

- Oh?

- Oh..

Miku was in front of Kaito's house, wearing the Yamaha school uniform and with her backpack hanging over her shoulders. The direction of her body showed that she was walking towards where Kaito was going.

- Miku?

- If you wanted to spend more time with me, you didn't have to stalk me, Kaito~ - Miku said with a joking tone and a smug expression on her face.

- Miku, this is my house... what are you doing here? - Kaito asked, trying to ignore her friend's comment despite her cheeks turning a little red, almost imperceptible.

- Am I going to school? This is the quickest way for me to go. My house is just a right on this street. - Miku said, pointing with her thumb to a curve that was not far from where she and Kaito were.

- You... live near me? Wow, that's a really good coincidence. - Kaito said, locking the door of the house and joining Miku to walk to school. - Kaito, Luka told me that you play the guitar, is that true? - Miku asks.

- It's true, but it's nothing special. I just play around every now and then.

- But that's really cool! I don't remember you telling me that you had other hobbies when we were studying at Setashou! - The girl with the cyan hair says. Miku was happy that Kaito could develop something other than fighting. She always worried about him a lot when he got involved in the fights of the juvenile delinquent gangs.

- Well, like I said, it's nothing special, Miku. Not compared to you, who knows how to play every instrument on the face of the earth. - Kaito answers, giving Miku a provocative smile.

- Hey, it's not all that!

- No? Last time I remembered, you played the piano well, played the guitar and bass well, played the harmonica well, played the ocarina well, and even managed to play that weird instrument that the Scots play. – Kaito says, listing each instrument on his fingers to reinforce the amount Miku plays.

- Well... I'm playing drums now... violin and triangle... B-BUT TRIANGLE IS EASY! – Miku says, Kaito continues to stare at her with a blank expression.

- Just admit that you're a musical genius.

- I'll only admit it if you join the club with me. – Miku comments, this caught Kaito's attention.

- Luka asked you to invite me, didn't she? – Kaito asks with a slightly monotone voice.

- Yes, she did. But I really wanted to be part of a club with you, Kaito! You know how to play the guitar! Why can't you join the music club? – Miku asks, running a little to stand in front of Kaito and look him in the eyes.

- Look, Miku, it's nothing personal, okay? It has nothing to do with Luka, Meiko or you guys, just... I don't want to take this any more seriously than I need to. – Kaito says, looking away. Miku notices that there was sadness in Kaito's expression, something was holding him back and she would find out what it was, but Miku wasn't the aggressive type to find out things.

- Okay, but you can still come have fun with me, right? Like, you don't have to be part of the club to mysteriously show up at our window and chat. - The girl says, Kaito smiles, regaining his posture and ruffling Miku's hair affectionately.

- Sure, shorty, can I be an unofficial member?

- I'm not shorty! You're the tall one!

- I'm pretty average height and you know that... shorty. - Kaito opened his cynical smile wider when he saw Miku frown at him, giving him a cute pouting expression and then continuing on his way to school.

- Sorry, Miku... I... someone like me can't create art... that would be disrespectful to the club and to what Luka and Meiko want to convey. - Kaito thinks melancholically and then follows Miku.

"In the student council room at Yamaha High School"

- Do you understand? We're not welcoming an ordinary student. Principal Hiroyuki has entrusted us with the task of ensuring that Gumi is safe at our school. - Said a teenager. He had short, straight brown hair with silver eyes and wore rectangular-framed glasses. He was of average height and wore the school's male uniform if it weren't for the student council sash on his arm with the symbol of a "Y".

- Even though Gumi is an idol, I don't think she'll have any problems here at school. She's not one of the most famous, so I don't think there will be any obsessed fans here, Kyoteru. - Commented a boy with curly, full red hair. He had black eyes and a fringe that covered his left eye.

- You don't have to say it like that, Fukase, it seems like you're trying to say that she's a failure. - Said a blond boy with short, messy hair, he had golden eyes and a very short stature.

- You're quite sensitive, aren't you Oliver? You know that Fukase says things like that, but not with any malice. – Says a girl with a radiant smile. She had blonde hair so light it almost looked white. It was very thick and long that it reached a little below her waist. She had straight bangs and amber eyes.

- Mayu is right. But getting back to the subject, even though she will probably go unnoticed today because it is only the second day, it is our role as the student council to ensure the safety of all our students. – Says Kiyoteru with both palms on the table, leaning against it.

- What if we ask Gakupo's gang to keep an eye on something? We can let them do the dirty work for us if things get to the level of aggression. – Says Fukase in a nonchalant way, placing both feet on the table.

- I don't like working with delinquents who don't respect the rules. – Says Kiyoteru.

- He must be pissed even though Gakupo beat him in their last fight. – Oliver whispers to Mayu, who nods in agreement.

- I can hear you two! We have to set an example here! We're not going to ask for help from the Gakupo gang for this! We're just going to keep an eye out for anything strange that might happen. – Kyoteru says with a responsible expression, committed to his role as president.

"In the second year of high school classroom."

- You really were a bad boy, weren't you, Kaito? – Meiko asks, sitting in front of Kaito, using one hand to support his head.

- Ha... Of course Miku would tell you guys that kind of thing, right?

- Hey, we've been friends for two years! Why didn't you tell us that you were like some mega famous guy for being strong? – Luka asks, sitting at the table next to Kaito.

- because this is from a past that is not something to be proud of? Oh my god, I was a rebel without a cause! How is that something so cool, right? Going around picking fights with other crazy people because we felt irritated with our pre-adolescence. - Kaito says, gesturing dramatically and making a voice that showed obvious irony.

- Even so! Friends tell these things! - Luka replies with his arms crossed.

- Now it makes a lot of sense why Gakupo was interested in you last year. I think he would want to recruit you for our school's gang. - Meiko says, having fun talking about Kaito's delinquent past, who, unlike her, showed more irritation.

- Let's not talk about this guy, okay? It took him a while to leave me alone in the first year. - Kaito says, getting stressed just remembering whatever happened between him and the leader of the Yamaha school gang.

- But I had no idea you knew how to fight, you don't look that strong. - Meiko says in a provocative tone.

- Are you calling me skinny? - Kaito asks.

Before Meiko and Luka could continue bothering Kaito about him being a rebel without a cause, the classroom door ended up being kicked. Which caught the attention of all the students.

- Sorry for missing the first day, my students! I was too drunk to wake up hahahaha! - Says an adult man entering the classroom with a relaxed laugh. He was very tall and had a clearly strong physique that could be seen by his clothes. He had brown hair thrown back with gel with a strand escaping in front of his forehead. He had some white streaks in his hair and brown eyes too. He wore a white dress shirt and a poorly tied red tie. As well as black dress pants and black dress shoes.

- What kind of teacher misses the first day and still tells such a truth? - Kaito thinks. Everyone returned to their seats as soon as the class teacher arrived.

- My name is Kamishiro Alsaki, but I bet you know me as Big Al! - The man says proudly, writing Big Al in big letters on the blackboard.

- I KNEW IT! You're that guy who has an album whose cover is a reference to a Yaoi manga! - Luka shouts, getting up from the table and pointing at his new teacher.

- IT WAS MY MANAGER'S DECISION, NOT MINE! - Big Al shouts defensively.

- My mother also listened to his music a lot. He makes songs for old ladies to listen to and dream about the singer. - Meiko says, whispering the last sentence to Kaito.

- I'M HEARING YOU FROM HERE!

- I've heard on some forums on the internet that this guy has a past in the Yakuza.

- Really? How did a guy like that become a teacher?

- He seems to be in a midlife crisis.

- I barely arrived and I've already lost all respect from my students... - Big Al says, falling on all fours on the floor, head down and depressed.

"Miku's classroom in the first year"

- So I guess you couldn't convince him, right? - Neru asks next to Miku.

- I haven't given up yet! I just need to do something to make him feel comfortable with us doing music activities together. - Miku says, looking thoughtful. While she was thinking, the girl looked around for anything in the environment that could help her with the Kaito issue. It was then that Miku noticed an illustrious presence in her classroom.

There was a girl with short green hair that was shoulder-length, she had layered bangs and two long strands of hair that covered her ears, reaching a little past her shoulder. Her eyes were emerald green and she had a withdrawn posture and a nervous and thoughtful expression.

- I know her... it can't be... - Miku thinks, getting up from her desk and walking towards the new girl. Taking advantage of the fact that her class teacher hadn't arrived yet.

- What is she going to do? - Teto asks.

- I think she's going to talk to Gumi. - Neru says, without taking her eyes off her cell phone.

- Gumi?

- Yes, she's an idol who is currently on retreat due to an attack by one of her fans on stage. - Neru says.

- WHAT?! HOW DID SOMETHING LIKE THIS HAPPEN AND I DON'T KNOW?! - Teto shouts with a cry of surprise.

- If you used your time to see fewer strange memes on your cell phone and more news, you would know. - Neru says, despite not wanting to seem aggressive, her speech sounded like that, leaving Teto slightly sad.

- Hello, aren't you Gumi? - Miku asks, sitting at the empty table in front. Gumi almost jumps out of her seat with a slight fright because someone recognizes her, but she realizes that it was a girl who didn't seem at all threatening and starts to let her guard down again.

- Sorry about that... I didn't expect anyone to recognize me... - Says the girl with emerald hair with an awkward smile.

- I'm Hatsune Miku. I listen to your songs, and I have to say you're very talented! It's so cool to have someone like you studying at the same school as me. - Miku says excitedly. She listens to many types of artists.

- That's great, I think, hehe... my name is Megumi Nakajima, but I think you already know me as Gumi. - The idol answers, still seeming reluctant to talk to Miku, something that doesn't go unnoticed by the girl with cyan hair.

- She has a very different personality than she does on stage. - Miku thinks, remembering watching several of Gumi's clips on the internet. While she was on stage performing, she had such a bright and excited expression on her face, being very active in her dancing and singing.

- Oh, the teacher is here, I think we should go back to our accents. – Gumi says, almost as if hoping to get out of that conversation. Miku looks back and realizes that what the idol said was true.

- Okay, I'll see you around Gumi, you can join us at recess if you want! – Miku says with a happy wave of her hand to the girl and then goes back to sit next to Teto and Neru.

- It was just a normal girl... a normal interaction with people Gumi, you're fine, you... you're fine. – The idol says to herself, feeling her heart slowly start to calm down.

- Guys! Did you realize that's Gumi? She's an idol who was starting to gain a lot of fame! – Miku says, going back to sit next to her friends. Looking very excited when the topic is about music.

- Yes, but do you know what happened to her, Miku? – Neru asks, attracting Miku's attention.

- She is currently on an indefinite hiatus because at her last show, a fan ended up going up on stage and attacking her, trying to kiss her and probably harassing her. Touching her body and that kind of thing that these otakus would do. - Neru says, clicking her tongue to show that she is disgusted by this kind of behavior.

- I really can't even imagine how hard this must have been for her... we need to help her cheer up! - Says the hyperactive redheaded girl of the trio.

- Gumi... is that why you seemed so nervous and disoriented? Did I scare her? - Miku thinks, discreetly looking at Gumi, seeing that the girl was now paying attention to what the teacher was saying.

After a few hours of class, the break bell rang. Gumi was packing her stuff, still lost in thoughts of having gotten so nervous just by the presence of someone talking to her, an unknown person.

- Did I really sink that much just because of an event? Come on! I need to be that girl who always saw the bright side of things! I can't stay on Hiatus forever... - Thinks the emerald-haired teenager.

- Hey, would you like to eat with us? - Asks a voice familiar to Gumi. She looks up and realizes that it was the girl who had recognized her and spoken to her, Hatsune Miku, and there were two other girls next to her.

- There's never anyone on the school roof, we're going to meet three more of our friends. - Neru says. The blonde thinks that mentioning that there wouldn't be so many people on the roof would be more comfortable for the idol who had suffered the attack not long ago.

- Come on! Please say yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes? We're in the music club! I think we'll get along great! - Teto says, jumping a little with each "yes" she said. Leaning too far into Gumi's personal space.

- Music club? Maybe... maybe I should talk and be with these people, it's better than being alone actually... and this Miku girl seems trustworthy. - Gumi thinks, struggling between accepting or not accepting but she ends up giving in to reasoning.

- Okay, show the way. – Says Gumi, trying to force a smile at the trio of girls.

"On the roof of Yamaha School"

- We're here! – Says Miku, opening the door. Noticing the presence of Kaito, Meiko and Luka. They hadn't started eating yet because they were waiting for the rest of the girls.

- And we brought someone new! – Says Teto, striking a dramatic pose, putting one knee on the floor and stretching her arms in the air as if she were a show host, introducing someone.

- W... we already know Neru. – Says Meiko, looking at Teto with a confused expression. The red-haired girl then realizes that Neru entered before Gumi.

- NERU! YOU RUINED MY PRESENTATION!

- What did I do?

- Hi. – Says Gumi, a little shy, entering right after Neru. Waving to the unknown trio.

- The baka trio kidnapped a new girl, huh? I'm sorry about that, they must have coerced you into something. - Kaito says with an ironic smile, leaning his back against the security fence and his hands in the pockets of his uniform pants.

- Wow, what kind of monsters do you think we are? - Miku asks.

- Ahhh, I know who you are! You're the idol Gumi, aren't you? I'm so sorry about what happened to you on stage. - Luka says, walking up to the girl so he can give her a better welcome. Ignoring Kaito and Meiko in the background shouting "wait, is she an idol?".

- It's okay, I didn't end up getting hurt or anything like that. I think experiences like this at least make us realize the importance of safety. - Gumi says, trying to hide her discomfort in talking about this subject at the moment.

- Now the entire Yamaha School music club is gathered at its HQ! - Teto says, throwing herself on the floor and taking a comically large lunch box out of her skirt pocket. How she put something that size in there, no one knows.

- I must remind you that I'm not part of the club. – Says Kaito, putting half a boiled egg in his mouth. From the bento he had bought.

- Oh, you're going to give in at some point, mister delinquent~ - Luka says with a joking tone in his voice, to Kaito's irritation.

- Miku... did you have to tell them that I used to get into a lot of fights? – Asks Kaito.

- What? You didn't tell me that this was a top secret matter. I'm sorry if I didn't read Kaito's manual when you left the factory. – Says the girl with cyan hair, it being her turn to be cynical with the master of cynicism.

- Oh, you little shit... speaking of which, Miku, do you know Big Al? – Asks Kaito, sitting back down in his place to eat his bento in peace.

- Big Al? Wow, he's quite an underground figure. He rose to prominence in music about ten years ago, but decided to retire early when his career was taking off. – Miku says. The seven teenagers sat in a circle to chat while they enjoyed their school break.

- Wow, you really know a lot about music, don't you Miku? – Gumi asks, impressed, undoing her own bento to eat.

- H-heheh maybe I'm a bit of a nerd about this. – Miku says, scratching the back of her head a little shyly.

- Believe it or not, he's our teacher, hehe who would have thought that a former musical artist would become a school teacher? – Meiko says.

- Wait... are you really saying that your teacher is Big Al? If it were Teto telling me this, I wouldn't believe it. – Neru says, pointing to Teto, who was holding a sandwich made from a giant baguette in his mouth. Eating it like a seagull swallowing a fish.

- It even has a cover that is a reference to a very old yaoi! That even became a meme, Yaranaika! – Miku says.

- Heh, you understand Yaoi, don't you girl? – Kaito asks with a provocative smile on his face. Miku quickly blushes and almost teleports to stand in front of Kaito, staring at him threateningly.

- Don't you dare talk about...

- What? You reveal my delinquent past and I reveal your fujoshi past! I think that way things are fair. – Kaito says, shrugging.

- Your past, what, Miku? – Luka asks curiously.

- N-NOTHING! MY PAST IS FULL OF FLOWERS AND CUTE THINGS! – Miku screams, covering Kaito's mouth before he can say anything.

- I FOUND IT! I knew I knew that Yaranaika meme! It's that little face we make when someone says something sus. – Teto says, making the expression extremely realistic, as if they copied and pasted the meme on her face.

- DON'T MAKE THAT EXPRESSION ANYMORE! YOU ARE FORBIDDEN FROM DOING IT! – Neru screams, completely horrified by what she sees.

- Pfft, you need to teach me how to make that face. – Meiko says, laughing out loud at Teto's yaranaika expression.

- That... is so nice... I was so immersed in the routine, the deadlines, the tension and pressure to become more and more famous as an idol that I forgot what it was like to be in a group of friends. – Gumi thinks, watching the interactions around her. Teto and Neru arguing, Miku trying to attack Kaito for licking her hand to get rid of Miku's hands on her mouth. Luka is curious about Miku's "dark past" and Meiko is still laughing non-stop at the face Teto had made. She shows a real smile to the whole scene that was happening, she felt good now.

- What do you think about going to this burger joint that opened in Shinjuku? The place even has a karaoke where we can sing! Even though the club activities haven't started yet, it'll be something interesting for all of us to do. - Meiko says, showing everyone the place on the phone. There really was a stage in that restaurant with a tube TV and two microphones in case anyone wanted to sing a duet song.

- Again, I must remind you that I'm not part of the group. - Kaito says, almost automatically. Finishing eating his bento.

- Kaito, it's just a night out with friends. You singing a little karaoke doesn't mean you're going to join our group. It'll be super cool to have you with all of us because you're our friend. - Miku says, holding the sleeve of Kaito's right shirt before he gets up. Kaito looks Miku in the eyes and quickly looks away, sweating cold.

- HE CAN'T SAY NO TO HER! - Everyone thinks at the same time.

- Okay, but only as friends. - Kaito says, sighing in defeat.

- THAT'S IT! You're the best! - Miku says, hugging him affectionately. Kaito tries to hide his smile and just strokes Miku's hair.

- You can come with us too, Gumi. It would be interesting to have someone like you in our music club, after all, you would have a lot to teach us. - Meiko says, sitting next to the girl with emerald hair.

- Maybe it would be good... to get used to singing again...

- Sure! I would love to join your club! - Gumi says with a big smile. It wasn't a fake smile, but she was still afraid, she still had stage fright and fear of the public. But these people made her feel comfortable and at the end of it all, she still had the dream of being a famous idol.

- So that's it! This weekend we're going to this burger joint and we're going to go for it! - Luka says.

- THAT'S IT! MUSIC CLUB! - Everyone shouts excitedly, punching the air. Except for Kaito, who was forced to do the same by Miku's hand holding his arm up.

Chapter Text

"Four years ago, at Setashou School"

- Hey Kaito, why don't you stop fighting? – Asks Miku. She was in a small park sitting on a swing next to Kaito who was accompanying her.

- Why ask this out of the blue? I'm very strong Miku, you don't need to worry. – Says Kaito. He had some bandages spread across his face and wrists.

- It's not about you being strong Kaito, but why do you like looking for fights so much? Like, you get hurt, isn't getting hurt bad? – Asks Miku.

- Not for me. Of course it hurts and it sucks but I like it in a way, I can't explain it but it's like things start to make sense when I'm fighting... I feel like I can do anything. – Says Kaito, he looked at the sky looking quite thoughtful about his own reasons.

- Uhmm... I know! Why don't you come to my music classes? – Miku asks, jumping off the swing, looking excited about the idea.

- Huh? Why all of a sudden, Miku? – Kaito asks, a little confused.

- Because when I'm singing, playing and dancing, I feel like I can do anything! – Miku says, spinning around, smiling in a very cute way that Kaito wouldn't say out loud.

- If you feel the same way, maybe then you won't have to hurt yourself so much! I don't like seeing you fighting and getting hurt... - The younger girl says, her expression falling as she sees the various injuries on Kaito's face.

- Uhmmm... maybe, I'll think about your case, little one. – Kaito says, forcing a smile and stroking Miku's hair, who lets out cute little laughs at her friend's display of affection.

- Creating something is... no, I don't think that's possible... - Kaito thinks, a thought that he will keep to himself.

"Present day, Tokyo, Shinjuku"

- I don't really like coming to Shinjuku, honestly, depending on where you go this place can get creepy. – Kaito says, looking around, being vigilant for anything that might happen.

- This time is when Shinjuku is in full swing! We won't go into any strange areas, so you don't have to worry so much, mister delinquent. – Meiko says, nudging Kaito with her elbow.

- I swear I'll show you and Luka why I was the strongest in Setashou if you don't stop annoying me! I'm warning you, huh! My fist is in favor of gender equality! – Kaito says with a comical streak of irritation on his forehead, glaring at Luka and Meiko who just continued to laugh at the poor guy's expense.

- So how about I call you a hero to balance it out! After all, you were always saving me when we were studying at Setashou. – Miku said, walking next to Kaito and decided to rest her head on the older boys's arm.

- No need, I don't like playing the hero. – Kaito said, looking away, using all his strength to not seem like he was starting to get shy with his friend's display of affection.

- But you're a hero, aren't you? So why not let yourself be called that? – Teto asked in front of Kaito.

- And you're a really weird little girl, you know? You'll end up tripping if you walk backwards like that. – Kaito replied.

- I'm a little lost, why do they call you a delinquent or a hero? – Gumi asked.

- It's because-

- DON'T ANSWER! EVERYONE IN THE MUSIC CLUB KNOWS ENOUGH! – Kaito shouted, covering Miku's mouth before she could say anything.

- It's because he was a juvenile delinquent who used to get into fights when he studied at the same school as Miku. And he's a hero because he saved her from bullies and a pedophile teacher. - Neru says with his usual neutral voice, but with an amused smile when he sees Miku manage to get rid of Kaito by licking his hand just like he had done to her before.

- Neru! Come on, I thought that out of everyone here you would be on my side! - Says the blue-haired boy, feeling betrayed. Neru sticks his tongue out playfully at Kaito and goes back to fiddling with his phone.

- We're here! This place looks wonderful! - Says Luka, being the first to notice the large burger joint they had set their sights on.

"In Shinjuku, but somewhere else."

- That's interesting, are you a teacher now? – Asks a woman sitting next to Big Al. She had very long silver hair that reached her knees and was tied in a ponytail with a purple and black bow. She had messy bangs and blood-red eyes. She was wearing a formal outfit with a black tuxedo with a red tie and a black secretary skirt as well as purple high heels.

Big Al and this woman were together at a bar in Shinjuku, a bar that didn't seem to have many people. The place seemed old and the bartender was cleaning a glass with a cloth, not caring about the presence of the two at his bar.

- I went to a university for this after all, what else could I be? I don't do well being a manager of new talents, like the great Yowane Haku. – Big Al says with a slight irony, taking the bottle of sake that was accompanying the two at the bar and pouring it into his glass.

- You had your good times too, Mr. Big Al, now we are both just relics of the past, obsolete compared to the new generation... but I think that's how the music industry is, appearance, especially for idols, both male and female, is something that counts as much as musical talent. - Says the woman, named Haku, also filling her glass with sake from the table again.

- You say that as if you weren't still a really hot woman, I would easily get with you. - Says the man in a flirtatious tone.

- Ha-ha, dream on. - Says Haku, rolling his eyes, but seeming to take the flirting as a joke, showing that the two had a certain intimacy for this kind of thing.

- Did you know that one of your protégés is studying at my school? How was the incident with Gumi? - Asks Al, downing the glass of sake halfway.

- In the end, it's my fault... it's common that the more famous an idol is, the more obsessed fans appear, who end up confusing things. Megumi was gradually becoming more and more famous and our company's profits from her were increasing. She's a great talent to invest in, however, we didn't imagine that she would have this kind of obsessed fan so soon... we should have invested more in security. - Haku said, looking at the drink with a melancholic expression on his face.

- You should be less demanding of yourself, you know? You're managing several other talents like Flower and Kaai Yuki, maybe you're overworking yourselves. - Big Al said with a friendly hand on Haku's shoulder.

- Heh, of course, thanks for inviting me to have a drink here, I needed it after everything that happened.

- We always drink together here, don't say it like I'm doing charity.

"Back to Miku's group"

Shinjuku was the shopping district and had many places to go. Normally on weekends the place was always full of people, hanging out with friends, family, coworkers, etc. And the burger joint they were at was no exception. Luckily they managed to get a table that could fit them all.

- MY GOD I COULD EAT THIS EVERY DAY! - Teto says, taking a gigantic bite of the double cheeseburger with Beacon that she had ordered. A large piece of Beacon was left hanging out of her lips, which she pulled as if it were noodles.

- Teto really has a big appetite, don't you think? - Meiko asks, really impressed, it was already the second hamburger that the girl had eaten.

- I can't eat that much, what's your secret, Teto? - Gumi asks, barely halfway through her snack.

- It's actually an ancient monster that gets stronger when consuming things, I'm almost sure that's it, isn't it, Teto? - Kaito asks with an ironic smile, resting his face on his hand that was resting his elbow on the table.

- THAT'S IT! Wait, am I a monster? How did I find out that now? - Teto asks with genuine doubt.

- I'll ask you the same thing. - Neru says next to the red-haired girl.

- Guys! The karaoke is empty! Who's going to be the first to put on a show, huh?! - Luka asks loudly and excitedly, pointing to the small stage that was there.

- The stage... I could go first... I could show my new friends my skills then... - Gumi was thinking, but then someone from his group got up from the table. It was Kaito.

- Let me go first, that way you'll feel more comfortable to participate. - Says the blue-haired boy, not seeming to care much about drawing attention like that in front of the stage.

- GO ON KAITO! WE WANT TO HEAR YOUR VOICE! - Says Miku, cheering for her best friend.

- SHOW US HOW AN UNOFFICIAL MEMBER OF THE CLUB SINGS! - Says Teto, pulling two flags with Kaito's face out of nowhere and starting to wave them.

- If you get nervous, think of everyone naked! - Says Neru. The whole group looks at him silently.

- What? I saw on the internet that this helps those who have stage fright. – Neru says.

- I... I'm definitely not going to follow that advice. – Gumi thinks.

Kaito goes up on the karaoke stage and looks for a song so he can sing. The people at the burger joint have already started to look at him expectantly. Kaito wasn't afraid of people, much less stage fright. Despite considering his musical skills to be mediocre at best. He's already been on a "different stage" surrounded by people who wanted him to lose in the middle of some fight in a parking lot or vacant lot.

- Let's see... I think this one suits me. – Kaito says, smiling happily, seeming to find his song.

Then a song started to play, similar to jazz with a slow saxophone in the background accompanied by a drum, being a soft and slow melody with a slightly melancholic music.

"Baka mitai kodomo nano ne "

"Yume wo otte kizutsuite "

"Uso ga heta na kuse ni waraenai egao wo miseta "

"I love you moroku ni iwanai"

"Kuchi-ben de hontō ni bukiyō"

"Na no ni na no ni dōshite sayonara wa ieta no"

People watched Kaito sing. He was attentive and calm to the lyrics, not bothered by the crowd that watched him sing with great mastery. The entire Yamaha school music club listened and watched the one who refused to join the club with admiration.

- Wow, his voice... it's much softer when he sings than when he speaks. – Teto comments, even stopping eating, as if she was hypnotized by the music.

- It's something... different... it's different from the Kaito we know. - Neru says, placing his cell phone on the table and staring at the ex-delinquent singing, analyzing him as if trying to understand a puzzle.

"Dame da ne"

"Dame yo dame na no yo"

"Anta ga suki de suki sugite"

"Dore dake tsuyoi osake demo"

"Yugamanai omoide ga baka mitai"

- Hehe, it's been a long time since I heard Kaito sing, it's something we should encourage him to do more. - Meiko says, entertained by her friend's show.

- See, Miku! That's why you need to convince him to join our club! - Luka says, turning to Miku.

But the girl with the cyan hair barely notices Luka speaking. Miku was a big fan of the art of music and it could be said that she had a great sensitivity to this form of human art. Kaito was never a person who considered himself creative, he always gave all possible support to Miku with her creations, dances, etc. but he never really wanted to get involved with art, and why? Miku watched Kaito sing this song with so much passion, a song that suited him in some way, why did he refuse to create with her? With the rest of his friends?

- Kaito... I would really like to know what is going on in your head that makes you not want to sing with us... - Miku thought, she felt herself getting more emotional as Kaito's song was coming to an end.

"Hontō ni roku na otoko ya nai"

"Soroi no yubiwa hazushimasu"

"Zamaamiro nari-masa suru wa"

"Zamaamiro nari-masa suru wa"

Kaito stopped singing after finishing the song, a little out of breath. After all, he was not used to singing seriously like that. Most of the people present at the burger joint began to stand up and applaud, showering praise on the blue-haired boy from Yamaha High School, including the music club itself.

- Out of everyone here, I didn't expect you to have such a beautiful voice. - Gumi greeted, following Kaito with his eyes, watching him sit back down.

- My voice isn't that bad, is it? I need something to drink. - The boy said, grabbing a glass of lemonade and drinking almost all of it.

- That was impressive, Kaito. You're definitely not just an amateur like you like to call yourself. - Neru said with a smile.

- I just sang so you could feel more comfortable and have fun with it too. Who's next? I want it to be you, shorty~ - Kaito said, poking Miku's cheek with his usual provocative tone.

- Oooh Gumi! Go ahead and sing one of your songs! – Luka says, as if he had had the best idea in the world.

- Me? – Asks the girl with emerald eyes, pointing to herself.

- Yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes! It'll be like having your show but without having to pay a single ticket! – Teto celebrates.

- You know this is my job, right? – Gumi asks with a blank expression.

- Yes! – Teto says, maintaining his excitement, not realizing what Gumi meant.

- If you don't feel like it, you don't have to do it, Gumi. We're happy with just your presence. - Meiko says, being the voice of maturity in the place. She puts a friendly hand on Gumi's shoulder and looks at her with concern.

- No! It's okay! Feel lucky because you're getting a show from the great rising idol Gumi and you don't have to pay! - Gumi says, getting up from her seat and making a cute pose, winking at her friends and sticking her tongue out. Gumi turns and marches towards the stage to be the next one in the karaoke.

- I hope this is a good thing. - Neru says, thinking out loud.

- What? Why wouldn't it be? It'll be great for her to be able to sing after what happened. - Miku says.

- That's exactly why, Miku. - Kaito says, drawing attention to him, who had his arms crossed and a serious expression.

- Gumi went through a traumatic event while on stage, and now she's stepping onto the stage again to sing for a pretty big audience... this could end badly. - Kaito says.

- Damn... I didn't think of that, I shouldn't have suggested she sing. - Luka says, his expression becoming sad.

- It wasn't your fault, she wanted to sing... I just hope this doesn't end up going wrong. - Kaito says.

Gumi felt her steps getting heavy. It was like a huge task for her to put one foot in front of the other to walk towards the stage. She had never been so nervous in her life seeing a tripod with a microphone waiting for her. She was sweating cold, her heart felt like it was going to jump out of her chest at any moment.

- Come on Gumi... you've done this over and over again... you just need to take a deep breath... you just need to calm down. - Gumi thinks, talking to herself trying to apply these techniques to calm down, but as she got closer and closer to the stage her anxiety got even greater.

Gumi finally arrived. She started looking for one of her songs on TV and luckily she managed to find it. Singing something familiar would certainly give her more confidence than singing a song she didn't know. She grabs the microphone and ends up doing something she shouldn't. She looks offstage. Gumi notices the number of people staring at her, the number of unknown people, the number of people who could be potentially dangerous to her.

- This doesn't smell good to me. - Neru says, noticing that Gumi was paralyzed. Gumi started to turn pale, her breathing became increasingly irregular, her eyes showed someone who was in pure terror and panic.

She was even starting to hallucinate. The images of the people who frequented the burger joint began to turn into shadows that stared at her with malicious smiles, with terrible and deep desires.

- I can't... I can't breathe... - Gumi thinks, her heart feeling like it was going to explode. Until she finally collapsed. Gumi's eyes close and she faints, falling to the floor of the stage.

- SHIT! GUMI! - Miku screams, being the first to get up and run to her, followed by the rest of the music club.

- Gumi! Wake up! Please wake up! - Miku says, crouching down and shaking Gumi, trying to be as gentle as possible, but the girl doesn't react.

- Excuse me, Miku. - Kaito says, pushing his best friend away. He puts his finger on Gumi's neck and then on her wrist. He puts his face close to her nose and then close to her chest.

- Her heart is racing, her breathing is weak, but she has a pulse... she had a panic attack and ended up fainting. - Kaito says.

- We have to get her out of here... does anyone have any contact information for her who can help us? - Meiko asks, but the lack of response from her friends was the answer she needed to hear.

- Then let's take her to the hospital, it's the best decision we can make at the moment. – Kaito says, picking Gumi up easily, after all he was still training.

Everyone agreed with what Kaito had said and they headed out of the establishment. However, by coincidence of fate or perhaps by divine help, as they were leaving the place, they met two people.

- MEGUMI?! – Haku shouted worriedly. She was walking down the street with Big Al when the music club left the burger joint.

- Do you know her? – Kaito asked, with a cautious expression, knowing that technically he had an idol in his arms.

- Yaoi Yaranaika cape teacher? – Luka asked, noticing Big Al approaching as well.

- Are you serious that I'm going to be remembered for this? – the teacher asked with a slightly uncomfortable expression.

- I'm the manager responsible for her! I'm Yowane Haku from Diva Productions! What happened to her?! – Haku asked, with her guard up. After all, a group of teenagers had just arrived with their protégé unconscious.

- Hey Haku, calm down, these are students from my school. What happened Kaito? - Asks Big Al, putting a hand on Haku's shoulder and staring at Kaito.

- We were just hanging out as friends. Inside that burger joint there's a karaoke stage for singing. Gumi tried to sing but ended up having a panic attack and fainting. - Says Kaito, pointing with his thumb to the establishment behind him.

- That makes sense... poor thing, she must be putting too much pressure on herself... can you follow me to the parking lot where I parked my car? I'll take care of her. - Says Haku, Kaito looks at his teacher and Big Al nods positively, showing that he trusts what Haku says.

- Yowane Haku was a former idol who was managed by Diva Productions Kaito, currently she actually works as Gumi's manager. - Says Miku, almost whispering the information to her best friend. They walked for about five minutes and along the way the music club explained the situation in detail to the two adults about what had happened.

- Gumi is going to be okay, right, Aunt Haku? - Luka asks with great concern in his voice, watching Kaito lay Gumi down in the backseat of Haku's car.

- I'll do everything I can to make her better. We've been doing our best to take care of Megumi's mental health since the incident with the fan attacking her on stage. - Haku says.

- Are you sure you can take her safely? You two smell like alcohol. - Neru comments with a suspicious expression, making Big Al and Haku go silent, watching the teenagers look at the two "responsible adults" with suspicion.

- I'M NOT DRUNK DAMN IT! I can drive just fine! - Haku says, getting into her car, not really understanding why she felt offended by that.

- Do you want me to go with you? – Asks Big Al.

- No, thanks... this is my responsibility alone. – Haku says, closing the car door and starting the vehicle, maneuvering it out of the parking lot and disappearing into the streets of Shinjuku.

- Well, I think it was a long night for you young people! I recommend you go home. – Big Al says, heading off on his way.

- Oh, and try not to dwell on it, okay? These things happen and were bound to happen at some point, you were just unlucky for it to happen to you... no one is to blame for anything today, it was a fatality. – Says the second-year teacher, giving his last words before going on his way alone.

The group actually decided to follow Professor Alsaki and each went to their own residence. Miku and Kaito went home together. After all, their houses were very close to each other.

- I really hope Gumi gets better... that this doesn't affect her even more... she doesn't need to feel even worse. – Miku said in a sad voice, Kaito realized that the event affected the girl a little.

- I'm also worried about Luka... she seems to have blamed herself a lot for having the idea of Gumi singing in front of everyone, she must be thinking that we think she's insensitive. - Kaito said, walking with his hands in his pockets, although his posture didn't show that he was affected by the event, he really cared a lot about his friends.

- I really didn't want anything like this to happen, I just wanted to hang out with everyone from the club and have fun... I thought we could take Gumi's mind off what happened to her...

- Miku, don't be so hard on yourself. - Kaito said, placing a hand on the girl's head.

- Gumi seemed quite nervous the first day we met her, but thanks to you, she gradually opened up and learned to appreciate everyone's company. What happened wasn't anyone's fault, it was just an event that unfortunately happened... as her friends, we have to support her and not worry about problems that don't exist. - Kaito said.

- Kaito... you... why don't you want to join the music club? – Miku asks, calming down with Kaito's caress in her hair.

- ...

- You sing very well! I could see that in the karaoke! I know you put effort into that song! I could see how much you were enjoying singing! You like it! You like it, Kaito! So why... - Miku says, stopping walking. She felt that Kaito wanted this, but something was blocking him and that made her frustrated and sad for the older man, who always seemed to have some emotional blocks.

- I... I'm not a person who creates Miku...

- What?

- The music club that Luka created is something where people get together to create. You put your feelings into music, into art, show it to the world... what you have to offer with this is a good thing, I... I didn't stop being that delinquent, I just kept myself on a leash, Miku. - Kaito says, turning around and giving the girl a sad look.

- This is my house, take care Miku. - Said Kaito, realizing that he was in front of his own house and then entering it.

Miku remained silent watching his best childhood friend disappear from his sight and decided to just go to his house. It was a house no different from Kaito's, the houses in that neighborhood were very standardized.

- I'm home. - Said Miku with a dejected voice, taking off her shoes and placing them on the side of the wall. She walked to the kitchen and noticed her parents eating.

- Good evening, dear! How was your outing with friends? - Asked Miku's mother. She was like an older version of Miku, being taller but with short bob-style hair and wearing glasses with rectangular lenses. In addition to having a more mature expression on her face.

- You're home early, did something happen? - Asked Miku's father, with very short brown hair and a beard. He had dark blue eyes and was eating with Miku's mother.

- No, I just felt a little tired... is Miki asleep yet? - Miku asks.

- Your sister must be in her second sleep by now, she's super energetic during the day but she's always a sleepyhead at night. - Miku's mother says.

- Okay, okay, I'm going to go to my room and take a shower too. - Miku says, deciding to let her parents have dinner.

She goes up the stairs of her house and goes to the bathroom. She takes a quick shower and brushes her teeth. Leaving the bathroom, Miku goes to a room next to hers, opening the door to check on her sister. She was sleeping soundly, with blue hair a little darker than Miku's.

- Good night, Miki. - Miku says, leaving the girl's room and going to her own room. Putting on pajamas the color of her hair with several drawings of very small leeks.

Miku lies down and stares at the ceiling for a few seconds. Today was a day that she thought she would have fun with her friends, but there ended up being too much to think about, Kaito's anguish, Gumi fainting, Luka blaming himself for what happened.

- Ha... it's going to be a great year... - Miku thinks, sighing and then closing her eyes to sleep.

Chapter 5: You are not a failure at what you want to be.

Summary:

After what happened with Gumi, the emerald-haired girl and Luka seem to be afraid to talk to each other.

Chapter Text

- Everyone, everyone, the student council president has an announcement to make. - Says Professor Alseki, drawing the attention of all the students in Kaito's class. Everyone looks up to see Hiyama Kiyoteru entering the classroom.

- You don't need to stare at me with those eyes, after all, the news is good. I'm here to tell you that club activities have resumed this week at our school. And if you have any suggestions for new clubs, please come to the student council room to present your idea. Existing clubs, remember that they need to have at least three members in the club for it to continue operating here at Yamaha School, just that and have a good class. - Says Kiyoteru, bowing respectfully to the class and then leaving the door.

- That's not great, Luka! We can officially resume club activities! - Says Meiko, turning to speak to Luka, who was just looking at her own notebook, seemingly lost in thought.

- Huh? What's wrong, Meiko? - Asks the girl with pink hair.

- Didn't you hear Kiyoteru? He said you can go back to your music club activities. We have to check the room to see if everything is okay. - Kaito says, looking at Luka with a suspicious expression, noticing the distracted state of the usually optimistic and lively girl.

- Oh, that's good, good, good... we can show Miku, Teto and Neru the instruments we have. - Luka says, forcing a smile.

- And Gumi too, remember she's a member? - Meiko asks, when mentioning Gumi Luka quickly got tense.

- Yes! Of course I do, y-yes!

- It's like this... it's been almost a week since the event that happened at that hamburger place... Gumi seems to be much more depressed than she already was and Luka always tries to avoid any subject with Gumi or even being in the same room as her... - Kaito thinks, looking at Luka with a worried expression.

...

- What is it Kaito? Why would you like to talk to me alone? – Asks Miku, standing under a staircase at school with Kaito.

- Miku, I'd like you to talk to Luka about what happened at the burger joint. – Says Kaito, with his arms crossed.

- What? Me? Why me? – Asks Miku, pointing to herself.

- Because you're good at talking to people. You're more understanding and empathetic than I am and well... most of us don't seem to know what to do to solve this situation. – Says Kaito.

- They haven't been talking much, have they? I think Luka blames himself for having Gumi go up on stage... we were all excited to hear her sing, she doesn't need to take all the blame just because she was the first to suggest it. – Says Miku.

- I agree with you Miku, that's why I think you're the best one to show her this. It's okay if you don't want to accept it, I'll understand, after all you two only met recently.

- Of course not! I'll do it! I can't let any friend feel bad like this! If you want to help Gumi overcome her stage fright, we need Luka, who is excited and passionate about the music club! - Miku says with a strong determination in her voice. Kaito gives a smirk at this. Miku always had passion and always seemed to have her heart in the right place.

- Kaito? What are you doing here?

Hearing a male voice that Kaito knew, he automatically pulled Miku back, standing in front of the girl protectively and staring at whoever was in front of him with a strong and suspicious look, with his guard up.

- Hahahaha! Man, I didn't think you still had that in you! I couldn't get that look and that posture out of you a year ago! - Says a teenager. He seemed to be Kaito's height and had short red hair with long, messy bangs. He also had red eyes and a playful expression with a smile showing his teeth. He was accompanied by four other male students.

- What do you want, Arsloid? - Kaito asks in a harsh voice, but this seemed to make the teenager called Arsloid more excited.

- You know that the people who stay under the stairs are the people from Gakupo's gang, that is, us, your place was on the roof, wasn't it? - Arsloid asks as if he was stating the obvious, a law that everyone followed.

- Tsk, let's go Miku. - Kaito says, grabbing the girl and guiding her out of that situation.

- I've never seen this girl at school... she must be a first year... a first year who managed to awaken a side of Kaito that we've always been looking for. - Arsloid thinks, watching the blue-haired duo disappear into the hallways.

- Kaito! What was that? - Miku asks, really worried. Kaito turns into a hallway and makes sure that he wasn't in sight of any of those people.

- That's Arsloid, he's Gakupo's right-hand man from the school gang... don't talk to them Miku, understand? Gakupo is not just the leader of a youth gang, he is the son of a guy who is involved with a yakuza, please promise me that you won't get involved with those people! - Kaito says, raising his voice and looking at Miku with great concern. Miku could swear that she could even see fear in her childhood friend's eyes.

- Yes, Kaito, I promise I won't get involved with them... I was never that kind of girl. - Miku says, her voice a little low and soft, which seemed to calm Kaito down a little.

- Ha... sorry, Miku... it's true, you were never that kind of girl, I was just... I was worried, okay? Forgive me. - Kaito says, with his hand on his head as if it were hurting. He then feels Miku's hand on his head.

- It's okay, Mr. Ironic, you were just worried about me, weren't you? So you're forgiven. - Miku says, patting Kaito's head affectionately.

"Behind Yamaha School"

Gumi was alone at the moment, she hadn't felt too well these past few days to eat with the rest of the music club. She looked for a secluded place where her friends wouldn't be able to find her so easily. She chose behind the school, she could watch the school's baseball team training on the field and that distracted her a bit while she ate her snack alone.

- The audience of baseball players is so far from the field, isn't it? Do they also get stage fright? Are they afraid of the fans? Being the center of attention can attract so many bad things that I couldn't even imagine. – Gumi thought, starting to get lost in her own thoughts, taking a lazy bite of her sandwich, eating it slowly, she really hadn't been very hungry these past few days but Haku always seemed to care about her nutrition.

- My sandwich looks better, you know?

- WAAAAH! – Gumi lets out a loud scream, jumping into the air like a scared cat when she realizes that Teto is sitting on the floor next to her, eating a giant meatball sandwich on a baguette.

- W-WHERE DID YOU COME FROM?!

- From inside the school, huh? We study in the same place. - Teto says, as if Gumi was asking something stupid.

- I just... l-leave it alone... - Gumi says, she knew that Teto was random and sometimes it was better not to even question how she did certain things.

- Do you like baseball? - Teto asks.

- Huh?

- It's just that you're eating here now, right? So you must like baseball. - Teto says, with a very innocent reasoning.

- That's almost it, let's say, I think I... I feel a little jealous actually. - Gumi says, looking back at the school's baseball team's training game.

- Jealous?

- Yes... the baseball field is huge and so are the audiences, but the players are always far away from the entire audience, if something happens they will have more than enough time to run away... but we who sing, who dance on stage, are always very close to those who are watching us. - Gumi says almost dreamily, as if she hoped that one day she could feel this security.

- So, would you like to be away from your fans? - Ceiling asks.

- T-THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT!

- But you don't want to be close to them at the show, do you?

- ...

- You don't want to be close to us too?

- It's not that Teto, I just... I can't look at you after what happened... - Says the idol with emerald hair, she hugs her own legs while staring at the floor, not wanting to look at Teto.

-But why? Everyone faint! I already fainted once when a cockroach landed on my face, I thought I was going to die that day. – Teto says with a

- Just... damn, I was supposed to be an idol! I've wanted to be that since I was a kid! Sing on stage! Make music, appear on television and all that! I got a contract with Diva Productions and Yowane Haku herself is my manager! And I'm throwing it all away because a fan attacked me in the middle of one of my shows! Nothing happened! I'm fine but I'm still scared! No... that wasn't the Gumi I wanted you to meet. – Megumi says, practically having an explosion of feelings next to Teto, her eyes were watering and threatening to fall.

- But I like the Gumi we know. – Teto says spontaneously.

- Wh... what?

- Yes! You're a really cool and fun girl to be around! You, despite seeming a little nervous whenever you interacted with us, always had something to contribute, talking about music and your knowledge! - Teto said, giving Gumi a radiant smile, who was surprised by the words that came out of the girl's mouth. She considered herself a broken idol now, unmotivated and afraid to enter the workplace, and it's serious that Teto and her friends saw her that way.

- But... but I...

- Do you have stage fright? Are you afraid of acting like an idol? It's okay, we all have weaknesses and defects, the important thing is to always move forward as friends! And smiling together! - Teto said, opening a smile on her own face with her index fingers, almost as if she was teaching Gumi to smile.

- I... heh I really forgot about that Teto, thank you. - Gumi said with a smile, moving closer to sit closer to Teto, eating her snack next to the hyperactive redheaded girl in her class.

"Yamaha school roof"

- I'm going to put these posters on the walls we have around the school, what do you think? – Meiko asks, showing some pamphlets about the music club with pictures of instruments and musical notes all over the paper.

- Oh, they look good... - Luka says, not paying much attention to what Meiko had said.

- Luka... are you okay? Do you want to talk? – Meiko asks, her expression becoming worried.

- I'll be fine Meiko, you don't need to worry. – Luka says, giving Meiko a fake smile.

- Okay... I'll put these pamphlets around the school. – Meiko says, a little uncertain whether she should leave Luka alone or not, but she ends up leaving the school roof, closing the door to the place.

- Damn, how can I think about managing the club if I can't solve things with one of our members! – Luka thinks. She can't help but feel guilty because she was the first one to tell Gumi to go up on stage. She should have been more sensitive to the idol but she was so excited to have a professional participating in her club that she ended up not thinking about the girl's feelings.

- How am I going to fix things? I don't even know where she is now...

- Hoooy, is there anyone here? Meiko? Luka? – Miku says, entering the roof and looking around. She then smiles when she notices Luka sitting with her back against the railing and runs towards her.

- Hi Luka! I was looking for you! I thought you would help Meiko with the pamphlets. – Miku says excited to see her pink-haired friend.

- I'm not feeling very well Miku... - Luka says, looking away from Miku.

The cyan-haired girl looks at Luka with a worried and understanding expression. She sits down silently next to her, leaving just the two of them in silence for a whole minute.

- I didn't want things to get weird the way they are Miku...

- I know that Luka.

- I'm your senior, I should show responsibility and control of the situation but... the reality is that I'm pretty lost on what to do... most of the members of the music club were third-years and since they graduated the club ended up falling into my and Meiko's hands... - Luka says with her head down. Miku decides to listen to Luka's story completely before telling her side of the situation.

- So, as the lively person that I am, I took the lead of the music group, but I've never been someone's leader or senior... I just wanted to have fun with the members of a club and sing, dance, maybe get a show, maybe at the café where Meiko works... but now I've realized that I have a lot of responsibilities... and I ended up ruining everything with my childishness. - Luka says, seeming to get more and more depressed as she speaks.

- Luka, you didn't ruin anything.

- How could you not?! Now Gumi is avoiding us because I forced her to go on stage! – Luka said, raising his head to look Miku in the eyes, hoping she would hesitate to tell him to his face that it wasn't her fault, but Miku didn't back down and continued to stare at him with a strong and convinced expression, because she knew she was right.

- Luka, you didn't ruin anything! – Miku said, looking deep into Luka's eyes.

- But... what do you mean?

- I hate to say this but it's like Big Al and Haku said... something like this was bound to happen at some point... Gumi had an attack while she was doing a show and ended up developing this panic of being on stage... she works with an idol, it was better to have found out about this while we were just having a casual meeting than in the middle of a show, where she would be vulnerable as well as her reputation and career. – Miku said, sounding much more serious and professional than she usually does.

- I understand that but...

- Hey, it's my turn to talk, okay? – Miku quickly interrupts, raising her palm. Luka nods slowly, letting the girl continue.

- What I mean is that we weren't the real cause of this, Luka... we could have been more sensitive and not asked Gumi to sing, but she still chose to go. It was her doing, you shouldn't blame yourself for this... we miss the music club activities and we miss you and Gumi. We don't want you to keep distancing yourself from us... please talk to us. – Miku says, almost as if she were begging Luka, who was looking at her with a very emotional expression.

- M-Miku... I just... I just wanted things to always be happy in the music club...

- We're going to have problems, Luka... even if we don't want them to, we're going to have obstacles, but to overcome this, we have to stay together, we have to talk together, talk about our feelings together, and most importantly, we need to support each other and not isolate ourselves! Go back to being the lively Luka who bugs Kaito to join the club, please. – Miku says, with both hands on Luka's shoulders, who looked like he was going to burst into tears at any moment.

Then Luka abruptly hugs Miku, hugs her very tightly, releasing all that feeling of guilt that was inside her, as if hugging Miku was her freedom card for what was eating her up inside. Miku smiles knowing that she had managed to bring Luka back and hugs him.

- Thank you Miku, I'll make up with her, I promise. - Luka says.

- You two just need to talk, I bet neither of you are really mad at each other, hehehe. - The girl with the cyan hair says.

At the door to the roof, Kaito was watching with a smile on his face. He closes the door to leave the two alone and goes down the stairs, satisfied with what he had seen.

It was already time for Yamaha school to leave. Gumi, Teto, Miku and Neru were packing their materials so they could leave. Gumi was much more interactive with the trio of girls after having her conversation with Teto, seeming to have returned to her normal self.

- I think I can bring some instruments to show you! I'm really good at playing the flute, it's something no one knows yet. - Gumi says, closing her backpack and sticking it on her back.

- I'm great with a drum! - Teto says.

- Drums are really an instrument that suits you well, I like playing bass. – Neru says.

- And you, Miku? What's your favorite instrument? – Gumi asks the girl with cyan hair.

- Oh, there are so many, I really like ocarina! But piano is also really cool, I really like violin too, although I still need to practice a little haha. – Miku says, getting a little lost in her instruments and looking at her friends, looking at her with a "poker face" expression.

- How many things do you... know how to play? – Neru asks.

- L-let's not get into that now, shall we?! Kaito calling me a music nerd is enough! – Miku says with a nervous smile and a cold sweat running down her forehead.

The quartet of girls was about to leave the room. When they opened the door, they came face to face with an acquaintance of theirs, who hadn't spoken very well for a while.

- H-hi guys. – Luka says, waving awkwardly.

- Hi Luka! - Gumi says, getting a little tense.

- ...Ooookay I get it, let's go ahead girls. - Neru says, quickly realizing what was happening and grabbing Miku with one hand and Teto with the other, pulling them out of the room and walking towards the school exit, despite the protests of the two girls who wanted to see the two talking.

- Ahm... so, how are you? - Luka asks, really not knowing how to start this kind of conversation.

- I'm fine, and you Luka? We... we haven't talked much, have we? - Gumi says with an awkward smile on her face.

- Sorry about that... and sorry for making you go on stage that day. - Luka says, lowering her head, showing real remorse.

- What?

- I knew you had been attacked but... but I ended up so excited to have someone as cool as you in my club that I ended up not thinking about it! Like a music club with a real idol in it, look how cool! But because of that I didn't think about your feelings... and... and I probably ended up pressuring you to show that you're an idol to us and not Megumi herself... I'm really sorry about that. - Luka says, bowing to Gumi, who was looking at the girl a little surprised.

- Did you... stop talking to me because of that?

- Well... I guess so?

- Luka, I wasn't forced to go on stage! I went because I wanted to. - Gumi says with strength in her voice, with her hands on both of Luka's shoulders, drawing her attention to look at her.

- My job is with music, my job is on stage... no matter how I need to overcome this fear, this is my battle. You have nothing to do with this or with what happened, it's not your fault or anyone else's. - Gumi says.

- So... you're not mad at me?

- What? NO! Actually, I was worried that you all would think I was a shitty idol for fainting without singing anything! What kind of example would I be setting for new people in the music industry if I did that! - Gumi says with a certain frustration in her voice.

- Gumi... you went through something terrible, it's normal for you to be scared, damn I would definitely be scared as hell! And the fact that you're trying to overcome it already shows that you're very strong and a real idol! Facing your fears to continue your dream! - Luka says, the pink-haired girl's excitement and smile slowly returning.

- Wow... haha I think we really just need to talk. - Gumi says a little awkwardly, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear.

- Oh come on! No shyness among members of the music club! - Luka says, opening her arms, calling Gumi who smiles broadly and jumps into the girl's arms, hugging her tightly, and Luka returns the hug.

- It doesn't matter if you fall off the stage a few times, we'll always find you awesome as an artist! And as a friend! - Luka says in a gentle voice.

- Thank you guys... thank you so much Luka... - Gumi says, she felt much better now. Even if it took a little longer, she would know that she could count on people to support her in her return to the spotlight, she had real friends now.

Miku and the rest of the group were at the school exit waiting for the other two girls to leave, they had worried expressions on their faces.

- Will everything be okay? I hope so. - Meiko says, with her hands together almost as if she was praying for everything to work out.

- Yes it will! Teto believes in Gumi! - Teto says confidently with her hands on her hips.

- Miku talked to Luka, I believe that everything will work out if they talk. - Kaito says with his arms crossed leaning against the school wall.

- There she is. - Neru says, looking at the building's door. Seeing Gumi and Luka leaving, talking to each other as if nothing had happened between them.

- So... is everything okay? - Asks Miku, being the first to bring up the subject.

- Yes, we managed to work things out. - Says Gumi, seeming to have a much happier expression.

- Nothing can stop the music club! - Says Luka, punching the air to show that he was back.

- Great, that you two managed to work things out, having people with sad expressions here is enough for Kaito. - Says Meiko with a provocative tone to the biggest boy in the group.

- Hey, are you going to start this so early? - Asks Kaito, but he can't help but smile a little, things were better this way.

"Somewhere at the Yamaha school"

It was like a big wooden cabin, which inside looked like a classic Japanese samurai dojo. But instead of housing samurai with katanas, this was where the Yamaha school gang was. Delinquents with baseball bats, wooden katanas, chains and pocket knives were seen scattered around the place. Chatting, looking at inappropriate magazines and skipping class.

- Are you serious, Arsloid? - Asks a tall man. He wore the male school uniform but used the jacket as a cape on his back, a jacket a little bigger than most. He had long purple hair tied in a ponytail.

- Yes Gakupo, I swear I saw that with my own eyes. It was as if Kaito was ready to attack me if I did or said anything wrong around that girl. - Arsloid said in front of the man, who was sitting on a chair in the middle of the room. Almost like a throne, a knight presenting himself to his king.

- Interesting fufufu, perhaps the strongest of Setashou still has his fangs, but only shows them in certain circumstances~ - Says the man called Kamui Gakupo, opening a smile on his face, grabbing the handle of his boken that was attached to his waist.
