Chapter Text

 The test was positive.

 Or well the 10th was, not that the before that one wasn’t, or the one before that. So yeah Chuuya definitely has a problem. And it probably has to do with the 10 positive pregnancy tests in front of him.

 “Okay, Lad, you're going to have to explain a little further. How many did you take? When did this happen!? And who is the dad?” Kouyou question.

 “ You're not mad?” Chuuya says quietly, while tears are running down his face. No really when did he start crying?

 “No, I’m just worried. And I want to know what is going on.”

 “Okay, so I took the tests about an hour ago. And I took 10 and they were all positive. The last time I had sex was when me and Dazai. Went on that mission and I had my heat and he had his rut. So he is probably the father.” Chuuya explains.

 “So Dazai is the father?”

 “Y-Yes.”

 “Okay so you're going to have to tell him.” Kouyou sighs.

 “ I know but I’m scared. What if he says he doesn’t want the baby?” Chuuya questions.

 Kouyou sighs again. She really loves Chuuya, but that boy is really blind. I mean come on, Dazai gives him stupid puppy dog eyes all the time!!

 “Lad you don’t have to worry about that I swear.”

 “Okay.”

 “We can talk to Mori about it later. Just clean up and get some rest.” Kouyou says

 “ Okay.” Chuuya says,wiping his tears. That he still has no idea why he was crying in the first place.

 Chuuya sighs, okay he really needs to think about this. So he’s pregnant and having a baby. But what is he going to do? He wants to keep the baby.

 But what about Dazai? What if he doesn’t want the baby? Also HOW IS GOING TO TELL MORI?! He’s so fucked. But Kouyou was right, he needs to tell Dazai.

 Okay, so he can probably just call him. Simple enough. But what is going to tell him on the phone? “ Hey Dazai so I’m pregnant and you're the dad!! Isn’t that awesome?!” Yeah no, Dazai would probably hang up.

 So, that means Chuuya is going to have to just come over unannounced. Well if that’s the plan he better get going.

 A/N: So I just want to explain how my Omegaverse works.

 Chuuya and Dazai walk to Dazai's somewhat kitchen. “ Okay what do you want to tell me?” Dazai asks. “Okay I’m just going to tell you straight up. I’m pregnant and you're the dad.” Chuuya says, sounding nervous. Which is very much unlike him.

 While Chuuya is probably having an anxiety attack. Dazai is full on panicking. He can’t stop thinking about the fact that he is a dad now. His alpha is very pleased and proud with himself.  “Be on the side that saves people. If both sides are the same, then choose to become a good person. Save the weak, protect the orphaned. Bring your mate with you. You deserve happiness Osamu. You will not find that here.”

 So what is Dazai going to do? He is going to honor Odasaku’s last wish and leave the mafia with Chuuya. He is going to be on the side that saves people. He is going to protect the weak and orphaned. He is going to find happiness even though he thinks he doesn’t deserve it. He still will find it for Odasaku. And he does know Odasaku was right; he will not find that happiness here. 

 Dazai then starts his walk to Chuuya’s apartment. He is going to tell Chuuya about Odasaku’s last wish. They are going to leave the mafia. And they will be happy.  

 Chuuya was getting ready for bed when he heard a knock at his door. So, he went to go up it. Even though it was weird that someone was knocking at his door at 2am. But whatever he can protect himself. 

 He opened the door only to find Dazai staring down at him. Looking the saddest Chuuya has ever seen him.“ Are you okay, Osamu?” Chuuya asks softly, thinking it was best if he approached softly and gently.

 “Odasaku dead, Chuuya.” Dazai said, his voice sounding hard and sad. “He asked something of me, Chuuya. You want to know what it was?” 

 Chuuya nods slowly. Thinking it will be best if he doesn’t speak just yet. Dazai steps into the doorway. And closes the door behind him. “ He wants me to leave the mafia Chuuya.” 

 “Oh, are you going to leave then?” Chuuya asks sadly, thinking Dazai might leave him.

 “Yes but he wants me to bring you too. Even if he didn’t say that I would still be here asking. No begging you to come with me.” 

 “Yes I’ll come with you. You should know that.” Chuuya says leaving no room for arguments.

 Dazai laughs softly. “Yes, how could I even think that you wouldn’t come with me? How rude of me. How could I ever make it up to you?” 

 Chuuya giggles softly at that. “How about you come in and sleep with me? And we can discuss what more to do in the morning.”

 Dazai softly smiles. “Yes I think I can do that.” Dazai and Chuuya share a pick kiss and then start getting ready for bed. 

 A couple of minutes later, Dazai finds himself freshly showered. Cuddling with his mate.

 Dazai thinks nothing could ruin this moment.

 And oh how right he is.

 Dazai wakes up to the sight of Chuuya, sleeping peacefully. He could wake up like this forever. Chuuya looks so adorable. Chuuya starts to blink his eyes up. “Why are you staring at me? You’re so creepy.” Chuuya says, sounding annoyed. “Just admiring how adorable you look.” 

 Chuuya blushes softly at that. “Let’s just talk about the whole mafia situation.” Dazai's voice becomes more serious as he speaks. “Ok.”

 They sit down on Chuuya’s couch. After Chuuya made them breakfast. “So what are we going to do?” Chuuya asks. “Well Ango is a traitor to the mafia. He’s been working for the government the whole time. So I’m going to ask him to get rid of our records. I’ll give him a call right now.” “Ok.” Chuuya says.

 “Dazai?” Ango asks in surprise. Probably not expecting to hear from him ever again.

“The one and only!” Dazai says with fake amusement.

 “Look I-“ Ango starts.

 Dazai's voice loses all of the fake amusement when he speaks. “I’m just going to stop you right there. Ango, I need you to delete all of mine and Chuuya's records. We’re leaving the mafia and I’m going to get a new job. Meet us at *********. That’s our safe house. I’ll explain more when you get there.”

 “Yes Dazai I’ll get to it.”

 “I expect no less.” Dazai hung up shortly after.

 Chuuya and Dazai arrive at the safe house with their bags packed. With clothes, special items and money. The safe house looks like an average family home. You wouldn’t expect it to be we’re ex-mafia members live.

 Ango is already waiting for them at the front door. “Ok so you want the records destroyed. Is that it?” Ango asks.

 “No, I want you to give us anything that we need anytime we want. And Chuuya here is pregnant. So we need to have regular doctor check ups.” Dazai says his voice sounds hard and cold while he speaks.

 “Oh, congratulations Nakahara and Dazai-San. I’ll get on to it.” Ango then leaves.

 “So what are we going to do now?” Chuuya asks.

 “Well we are going to get comfortable.” Dazai says his voice sounds very soft and gentle. Now that he’s talking to his mate.

 “Also what were you talking about when you said you’ll get a new job?” Chuuya asks, sounding curious.

 “Well sweetheart, Odasaku asked me to go into the light. And protect people. So that is what I’m going to do. I found this job called the Armed Detective Agency .”

 “If you told years, hell even weeks ago. That you were going to be a detective. I would have laughed in your face.”

1 month later 

 Everything has been going well for Dazai and Chuuya. Chuuya is already 2 months along.  He has been having very bad morning sickness. And mood swings. They learned that they get to see the baby gender in the 5th month.

 Chuuya has been planning so many things for the baby like the nursery. And toys and clothes. Dazai has been panicking wondering if he’ll actually be a good dad or not. Chuuya has been telling him that he is going to be a good dad. And if he isn't, Chuuya will slap him till he is. 

 Well Dazai hasn’t brought up him not being a good dad so it probably worked.

 3 months later 

 “Well it looks like you guys are having a boy. Congratulations Dazai-san.” Dr.Sato says. He has been calling both Chuuya and Dazai. Dazai-San since they met him. 

 Dazai quickly reached over to hug Chuuya from where he sat on their bed. They both have tears in their eyes as they hug each other.

3 months later 

 “No Osamu, the crib is supposed to go over there.” Chuuya says, sipping his water. While sitting on the rocking chair in the nursery.

 Dazai and Chuuya have been working on the nursery. Well actually Dazai has been doing all of the work. Since Chuuya can’t lift anything heavy. Dazai has definitely done his fair share of complaining.

 “Ok. Ok. I’ll put it in the right spot.” Dazai says, sounding annoyed. 

 “You’re such a baby,” Chuuya says. “Come here.”

 Dazai walks over to where Chuuya is sitting in the rocking chair. He picks him up and then sits him in his lap. Chuuya immediately nuzzles his face to Dazai scent glands. They quickly found out that Chuuya has gotten more needy. Much to his embarrassment and Dazai excitement. 

 “I love you ‘samu.”

Chuuya’s water broke an hour ago. Dr. Sato, Ango and more doctors. Arrived 40 minutes ago. It’s been 20 minutes since Dazai had started pacing back and forth. 

 And all he can hear is Chuuya’s screaming. From inside the room, in the back of their house.

 5 hours later 

 The screaming had died down for a couple of hours. In the last 10 minutes. It has increased a lot. And Dazai is definitely not at all panicking. No he’s just fine. Totally… Definitely… 

 Okay fine, he is panicking badly! Two people he cares deeply about are in a room of people he doesn’t know!  And both could die! So yeah he’s panicking could you really blame him? Like what happens if-

 He gets cut off when he hears another scream to the mix. A couple of minutes later he hears his name being called. 

 “Dazai-San! You can come in now!” Dr. Sato yells from the other room. Dazai then starts to walk in the room. And what he finds is something he’ll never forget. Chuuya is sitting in the bed. With his back to the pillows. In his arms is a baby. His baby. Their baby. 

 “Hi.” Dazai says softly. Chuuya giggles cutely at that. “Come here you big baby.” And obviously he starts to walk over to the other side of the bed. “We will leave the both of you alone now.” The doctors say. As they walk out the door. 

 “He looks so much like you.” Chuuya says. With so much fondness in his voice. “Yeah he does.” Dazai says. He just can’t believe they really got here. A year ago he was still in the mafia. And now he has a beautiful mate. And an adorable son. 

 “Are you okay?” Chuuya asks. “Yeah I just can’t believe that we got here. Like a year ago we were in the mafia. And now we have a family of our own.” 

 “Me neither.” Chuuya says. Dazai softly smiles at him. 

 Chuuya gasps softly. “What!? Is there something wrong!? Or-“ Dazai gets cut off on two small giggles. “No he just opened his eyes.” Chuuya says so cutely. Dazai looks down at their son. God he’s never going to get used to calling something like this his. Is he? Their son is looking up at them with two big brown eyes. Chuuya was right when he said that he looks like Dazai. 

 Their son has a little bit of brown wavy hair on his head. And two big brown eyes. Dazai can’t seem to find any Chuuya in him. “What should we name him? I was thinking of Shuji.” Chuuya asks softly. “Yeah that’s a good name.” Dazai says in awe. 

 “Dazai Shuji,” Chuuya says in an almost whisper. “It’s perfect.” Chuuya smiles softly. 

 “Yeah it really is.” Dazai says still in awe of their son. 

 It really is a perfect name for their perfect son.

Chapter Text

1year and five months later 

 Dazai wakes to Shuji crying at 3:00 in the morning. “Hey Chuuya?” Chuuya hums in a sleepy voice. “Do you want me to go get him?” Dazai asks, “Yeah whatever.” Chuuya says sleepily.

 Dazai gets out of bed and goes to Shuji’s room. “Hey bud you wake already?” Shuji stops crying when he sees Dazai. “Daddy..” Shuji says while tears are running down his face. Dazai chuckles softly. “Do you want to sleep with Daddy and Mommy?” Shuji's eyes lit up. “Yes! Shuji sleep with Mama! And Dada!!” Shuji says with a big grin. 

 Dazai chuckles softly again. Dazai then picks Shuji up. And goes to his and Chuuya’s room. “Hey Chuuya, somebody wants to see you.” Shuji crawls up to Chuuya. And squashes his face against Chuuya’s. Chuuya sleepily opens his eyes. “Hi baby.” Chuuya says with a soft smile. And places a kiss on Shuji’s forehead. Shuji giggles.

 Dazai then gets on the other side of the bed. And puts his arms around Chuuya’s waist. And throws his legs over Chuuya’s thighs. Chuuya places Shuji against his chest. And puts his face in Shuji’s head. “Go to sleep baby, ok?” Chuuya says with face against Shuji’s hair. “Okay since Mommy asks!” Shuji says with a big smile. 

 “So you wouldn’t go to sleep, if  I asked?” Dazai says jokingly. “Yes!” Shuji says with a giggle. Dazai gasps dramatically. And puts a hand to his heart. Shuji giggles again. “Both of you go to sleep!” Chuuya yells at them. Dazai and Shuji both giggle as they fall asleep.

 1 week later 

 Dazai finds himself leaving his house at 9am on a Tuesday. His new job starts today. He heads to the Armed Detective Agency. He finally gets there.

 He heads up the entrance. And goes up the stairs. He opens a door that says ‘office’ “Are Dazai Osamu?” A blond man says with the weirdest ponytail Dazai has ever seen. “Uh yes?” 

 “Well I hope you know that you're 2 hours late! To make a good impression you should be-“ Dazai mostly blocks out what the blonde is saying.

 “Enough with that Kunikida.” A woman with a purple bob says. “You don’t want to bore him when he just got here, do you?” She says teasing him. A man with a brown hat laughs loudly in the back. 

 Maybe this isn’t so bad, Dazai thinks.

 Dazai takes that back, that was the most boring case ever! And why does he need an entrance exam anyway!? He clearly is a perfect fit! 

 It takes Dazai 30 minutes to drive home. When he opens the door Shuji greets him with a big smile. “Daddy! You’re home!” Shuji says excitedly. 

 “Shuji stop opening the door without checking first!” Chuuya yells. “You don’t know who it is!” Chuuya continues scolding him. As he meets them at the door. “And stop standing there like a idiot! Come in!” Chuuya then starts scolding Dazai. 

 Later Dazai finds himself falling asleep with the two most important people of his life. He thinks he has made Odasaku proud.
