Chapter Text
“I am so ready to be done with the semester.” Bonnie groans.
“We still have a few more weeks of school.” Ron says.
“I’m guessing Thanksgiving was…interesting.” Tara says.
“My brother invited my most recent ex.” Bonnie says.
“You’re the one that set them up.” Tara says.
“I know.” Bonnie says. “And I’m happy for them. But I wish someone had warned me about Junior’s love for singing.”
“You didn’t learn that while dating him?” Ron asks.
“No!” Bonnie exclaims. “I was with him for shallow reasons, so I didn’t care about stuff like that.”
“Noted.” Ron says.
“I hope you weren’t too harsh with him.” Tara says.
“I let my mom handle it.” Bonnie says. “She’s much better at being gentle than I am.”
“Good plan.” Tara says.
Ron’s phone starts vibrating in his pocket.
“What’s up Wade?” Ron asks.
“Uh, this is really weird, but we got a request from Junior.” Wade says.
“That is weird.” Ron says. “What could he possibly want?”
“He better not be inviting us to karaoke.” Bonnie mumbles.
“Apparently, people from his father’s billionaire club have gone missing, and Senior was arrested for it.” Wade explains. “Junior insists he’s innocent, though.”
“That is super weird.” Ron says. “We’re on it.”
“I’ll send the jet over.”
“At least he's not singing again.” Bonnie says, relieved.
Notes:
Just a warning; this is another short one. Sorry about that.
Chapter Text
“So, these are the billionaires that went missing?” Ron asks.
“Geez, these guys aren’t even in the top ten.” Bonnie says.
“I don’t think that’s helping.” Tara says.
“I can see why they’d think Senior did it; he did attack them before.” Ron says.
“Look, I’m going to believe Junior when he says his father didn’t do it.” Bonnie says.
“Why?” Tara asks. “It can’t be because he’s your ex.”
“Or dating your brother.” Ron says.
“Junior has the money and resources to easily have someone bust his father out of prison.” Bonnie says. “Instead, he’s contacting us. Why? Because he genuinely believes his father didn’t do it. And Junior knows what his dad’s like, so if he thinks his dad is innocent, it’s for a good reason.”
“That’s…actually a good argument.” Ron says. “It’s not going to hold up in court, but it’s a good argument.”
“So, what’s the plan?” Tara asks.
“If there’s anyone else who might have a grudge against the billionaires in that club, Senior would probably know about it.” Bonnie says. “I say we talk to him.”
“Good plan.” Ron says.
***
“I do not know why anyone would frame me for the disappearance of those club members.” Senior says.
“As of right now, we don’t know they were intending to frame you.” Ron says. “You’re being held because your vendetta against the club is public knowledge. No actual effort into framing you was necessary.”
“We just need to know if anyone else has a grudge against the club members.” Tara says.
“Well, let’s see…” Senior says, “there are the club employees, the billionaires’ employees, their relatives…”
“This isn’t narrowing it down at all.” Bonnie says. “Who’d have access to them?”
“The club employees and fellow club members.” Senior says.
“Any in particular we should talk to?” Ron asks.
“I do not remember their names.” Senior says.
“I doubt any other club member does either.” Bonnie says.
“And they were probably counting on it…” Ron says. “We’re done here. The answers we need are at the club.”
***
“There’s no way we’re getting in there.” Bonnie says. “You’re rich, but you’re not a billionaire.”
“We’re not going in as club members.” Ron explains. “We’re going in as staff.”
“Won’t people know we shouldn’t be here?” Tara asks.
“The billionaires probably won’t notice.” Ron says. “And thanks to Wade, we just got added to the staff.”
“Okay, this could work.” Bonnie says.
“I hope so.” Ron says. “I’ll be in food service. Bonnie will work laundry, and Tara will work as a waitress. Try to find out what you can about our missing billionaires.”
“Got it!” They both say.
“Alright, let’s go clubbing.”
***
“So, did you hear about Mr. Fuentes?” Bonnie asks. “What’s up with that? Isn’t this place safe?”
“It’s very safe.” The laundry maid says. “He went golfing and didn’t come back. He probably just got drunk and wandered off.”
“Is that something he does often?”
“If he’s not getting drunk and harassing the staff, yes.”
“That’s horrible.” Bonnie says. “Still, shouldn’t someone go looking for him?”
“We don’t have the time. We’re sure he’ll turn up eventually.”
***
“Is this place safe?” Tara asks. “Because I’ve heard some people have gone missing.”
“It’s fine.” The head waiter says.
“I mean, it’s not like they just wandered off.” Tara says. “Shouldn’t we be a little worried?”
“They probably took some of their private vehicles home and forgot to tell people.”
“I didn’t see any of them near the golf course when Mr. Dela Cruz went missing.” Another waiter says.
“Of course not,” the head waiter says, “he’d have to leave the course to use them.”
“He went missing from the golf course?”
“It sure seems that way.” The second waiter says. “Honestly, not missing him much. He was always making a racket with either a vehicle or some other gadget he just had to show off.”
“And he was a terrible tipper.” The head waiter says.
***
“A guy just disappears from a golf course, and no one goes looking for him?” Ron asks.
“Look, Mr. Bronson wasn’t exactly well-liked amongst the staff.” The chef says. “If he wasn’t harassing the staff, he was just making all the other guests miserable. And it’s not as though we have a lot of free time.”
“We can’t exactly drop everything to go looking for a guy that nobody’s missing.” Another chef says.
“Fair.” Ron says. “Uh, I think I need a break.”
“Go ahead.” The first chef says.
A golf course…
I think I know who’s behind this.
Chapter Text
“All three of our missing billionaires went missing from here.” Ron says. “Wade, can you scan the course and tell us anything?”
“Hmm…it appears that there are tunnels under the sand traps and the water hazards.” Wade says.
“How do we open them?” Tara asks
“We probably step in them.” Bonnie says. “That’s probably how our missing rich guys did.”
“Okay, on three.” Ron says. “One…two…three!”
They all jump into a water hazard. There’s a brief pause, before they all go sliding down a tunnel. They’re able to change into their costumes before the tunnel ends.
They end up in some kind of…lair?
“Ach. Who invited you to my scheme?” Killigan asks.
“Consider us their guests.” Bonnie says, gesturing to the imprisoned billionaires.
“So, what’s your plan?” Ron asks.
“Hold the billionaires hostage until the world gives into my demands.” Killigan says.
“That’s not going to happen.” Bonnie says.
“No one misses them.” Tara says.
“Some of the staff are even celebrating.” Ron says.
“They are?” Mr. Fuentes asks, somehow surprised.
“Yeah, you guys are jerks.” Bonnie says.
“Jerks?” Mr. Dela Cruz asks.
“Trust me; that’s me downplaying it.” Bonnie says.
“Whether the staff they mistreat miss them or not, I’m sure the club misses them.” Killigan says.
“Not really.” Ron says. “The club only cares about their money.”
Somehow, the imprisoned billionaires look surprised at that.
“Look, can we skip to the part where we fight and then beat you?” Bonnie asks.
“Fine.” Killigan says. “Fore!”
He launches some golf balls…
That Bonnie easily explodes before they get to them.
Killigan charges at them with his golf clubs…
Tara grabs another pair and easily holds him off.
Ron’s working on freeing the hostages.
Once he does, it’s short work for the three of them to take down Killigan.
“How can we ever repay you?” Mr. Bronson asks.
“I can think of one way…” Ron says.
Notes:
Killigan should've chosen better targets.
Also, yes, there are maybe a handful of billionaires in this world who do good with their money and would be missed, but they're not members of the club.
Chapter Text
“I know you had their eternal gratitude and all,” Brick says, “but I can’t believe you actually convinced some billionaires to start doing good with their money.”
“Well, when they realized no one actually missed them when they went missing, that prompted them to seriously reevaluate what they’re doing with their lives.” Ron says.
“Isn’t doing good just to be admired kind of bad though?” Brick asks.
“There’s a Jewish parable that basically boils down to this; the people you help won’t care much for why, they’re just grateful for the help.” Ron says. “And, who knows, they might discover they genuinely like helping people.”
“I wouldn’t bet on it.” Bonnie says.
“Me neither.” Ron says. “But they’re still doing good. And that’s the important part for right now.”
“And after mission ice cream.” Tara says.
“Be careful eating that in the car.” Brick says. “If I hit a bump, you could ruin your outfit.”
“I’ll be fine.” Tara says. Then, turning to Ron and Bonnie: “I’ll catch up with you guys later.”
“Later!” Bonnie says. After Tara leaves, she turns to Ron. “So, are you buying, or should I?”
“I’ll pay this time.” Ron says.
“Good.” Bonnie says. “Because you’re a lot closer to being a billionaire than I am.”
***
“It won’t be too much longer now.” Miss Gray says. “But I have one final test to conduct.”
“Am I going to enjoy this one?” Ken asks.
“Yes, actually, you are.” Miss Gray says. “You’re going to retrieve those items you want, and then fight the Unstoppables.”
Ken gets an evil grin on his face.
“It’ll be my pleasure.”
Notes:
I know that it's generally considered bad to do good things for the wrong reasons, but good things are getting done, and that's the important part right now.
Anyways, next up, the season finale! It's gonna be longer than my usual stories, but I'm hoping it'll be worth it.
