metaphor oc art compilation

Summary:

Whilst Ciel is the Metaphor OC I mostly focus on bc she's the one who means the most to me, I have other OCs for the game too, and Ciel is actually a part of a group of 5 OCs who I consider my "main" Metaphor OCs. This is a compilation of my art of them, along with some meme templates sometimes too! In here you'll find content of the other 4 of my 5 "main" Metaphor OCs, as well as supporting OCs (like the Morning Glory Inn crew + Ciel's parents once I've come up with designs for them)

i made a post-game design for saskia too! i thought it was neat that the party members in metaphor got new outfits for the december 786 epilogue part of the game, so i wanted to give saskia that treatment too hehe

Chapter 8: morning glory inn crew profiles

Notes:

okay so as you all surely know by now i think a lot about metaphor. one day i remembered that one line of fidelio's about how someone viewing the world of metaphor from outside-in would consider it a paradise compared to their own world, and that inspired me: we never really learn that much about what the world of metaphor is like outside of euchronia + virga island, which granted does make sense in-universe bc the seas around euchronia are extremely dangerous meaning travel on them is super risky, but it did make me very curious... what are the other countries in the world of metaphor like? what if someone who wanted to travel to euchronia from outside it was able to make it through the dangerous seas and into euchronia in one piece? in particular i wondered if, as much as euchronia sucks complete ass, there were countries in the world of metaphor that suck even more ass than it + makes euchronia seem like the promised land in comparison? so yeah that was what inspired me when making dolores and tremblay's backstories

also regarding dolores + tremblay having australian accents, i thought that they should have accents that kinda sound like the british accents that most euchronians speak in but also doesnt really sound like them that much, and the first thing my mind went to was australian, so yeah there's that. them speaking in the kansai dialect in japanese also comes from the fact that iirc i dont think theres any characters who speak in the kansai dialect in the japanese version of the game, but im not super familiar with the japanese version of the game so there might be some who speak in it, if thats the case then feel free to let me know

anyway ive yapped enough, just wanted to explain some of my thought processes in creating stuff since i dont think i discuss them that much!! special thanks to the firealpaca brush store for coming in clutch whilst i was working on these

so lately ive been feeling pretty insecure about my looks, so drew this to cheer myself up! louis is totally the type to not care at all about his partner's appearance and finds them cute no matter what they look like, the main thing that matters to him is his partner's personality

is this extremely self-indulgent? it sure is. but sometimes the best way to boost my mood is to get on my yumejoshi bullshit (also i was a FUCKING IDIOT and accidentally posted this in my cielouis art compilation so if you saw this in that fic, no you didnt)

Notes:

a traditional drawing from me for a change of pace!!!! recently i got an idea for 2 supporting role ocs to add to my metaphor oc collection, so here's a design for one of them! his design isnt completely finalised yet, for example im thinking of making his hair longer, i dont consider my ocs designs finalised until i draw them digitally bc i find it easier to convey the colour palettes i have in mind for my ocs in digital art programs than with pencils, so yeah look forward to his final design once ive gotten it down!! also rosado from fe engage was a huge design inspiration for this dude

anyway thats all i gotta say on him until i give him a name + flesh out his backstory (all ive got for that so far is that he grew up in the same orphanage as and is a friend of ruth + camille), go my femboy!!!!!!!

Chapter 16: currently unnamed metaphor oc design sketch the second

Notes:

so you know how i said last chapter that i had 2 supporting chara ocs i had ideas for? here's the 2nd character!!!! her outfit is all sorted but im having trouble deciding on a hairstyle for them.......

also regarding her being a doberman paripus with their ears + tail modified to resemble those of a set animal; i originally had them being a doberman paripus, but then i got the idea to make her a set animal paripus bc i loved the idea of there being paripuses who were based on mythological animals, and for a while i wasnt sure what animal to base them on, so in the end i decided to have the two ideas meet in the middle by having her be a doberman paripus with a modified tail + ears. them dyeing her hair bright red is also a reference to set, who is sometimes described/portrayed as a redhead

Chapter 17: cielpapa

Notes:

here's ciel's dad ernst!!!! i mainly wanted to come up with a design for him bc in a recent cielouis fic idea ive gotten where ciel and louis won and became immortal + stopped aging past 26 due to all the magla released from the royal sceptre, theyre still ruling over euchronia 1000 or so years after their victory where the country now has modern day tech, and ciel meets the reincarnation of her father which leaves her with A Lot Of Emotions

ernst is an interesting oc in that he's something of a vessel for me to vent out my frustration with how my brain works (hence why it's mentioned that he struggles a lot with intrusive thoughts and internalised ableism). he's also a key part of why ciel is the way she is in the present day

another thing about ernst is he's perpetually doomed by the narrative in some way. in metaphor canon he died, in my modern metaphor au he's alive but was sectioned after a suicide attempt and in all 3 of my cielouis fandom fusion aus (silent hill 2, deltarune, DDS) he's dead. can we get an f in the chat for cielpapa, im pretty sure only maruki’s reality could save him

for those wondering about their dynamic, it's a queerplatonic relationship with benefits, they bonk when theyre pent up, but their feelings about each other are strictly non-romantic in nature. theyre extremely close emotionally to the point where paz is perfectly comfortable with being outside of his glamour when it's just him and nessie around. they share finances and when staying at inns and the like they share beds and baths too. also, ines is considering adopting a few kids once she gets tired of the merc life, and pascal is perfectly fine with + perfectly willing to co-parent with them (paz would be the fun parent and nessie would be the serious parent, and they’d both do great by their kids)

i havent been drawing much this month bc ive been distracted by other things (writing stuff, playing PLZA, going to mcm london....), so i made some quick sketches to keep myself from getting rusty when it comes to my art, and also as an excuse to draw dolores + eponine with different hairstyles
