Chapter Text
Hinata stared up at the huge, gleaming billboard with wide eyes. There was Bokuto, grinning and flashing the peace sign, his spiky hair practically bouncing with excitement. He looked like he owned the world, standing next to the other members of the Fukurodani idol group. The vibrant colors and flashing lights cast a glow over the bustling street, and the music of their latest hit played in the background, the catchy beat echoing in his ears. It had been two years since Bokuto had made his debut, and every day it felt like the gap between them grew wider.
He and Bokuto had grown up together, since they were little their friendship forged through a mutual love for idols and their shared dreams of joining the ranks of the stars they admired. They had spent countless afternoons in their small, cluttered room, mimicking dance moves and singing their hearts out, their laughter bouncing off the walls. But now, Bokuto's star was on the rise, leaving a shadow over their once equal partnership.
Bokuto had auditioned and been accepted into HQ Entertainment's idol group, the Fukurodani, right after graduating high school. The news had come as a shock to Hinata, who was still navigating the awkwardness of his teenage years. He felt a twinge of envy, but mostly a fiery determination to follow in his friend's footsteps. For two years, he'd studied dance, vocal training, and the complexities of the entertainment industry with a fervor that matched his love for the sport they had once dreamed of together.
But even in Bokuto's busy schedule they still stayed in touch, and their bond remained unshaken. Every time they talked, Bokuto's enthusiasm was infectious, and he often shared stories from the idol world, the glitz and glamour of it all. Yet, he never shied away from discussing the tough training sessions, the endless rehearsals, and the pressure to always be perfect. These conversations only fueled Hinata's ambition to join him.
Finally, the day came. At eighteen, with a heart full of hope and a backpack stuffed with dreams, Hinata found himself outside the towering HQ Entertainment building for his own audition. The nerves danced in his stomach as he took a deep breath, reminding himself of all the late nights and early mornings he'd spent perfecting his craft. This was his chance to step into the limelight alongside Bokuto.
The waiting room buzzed with anticipation as a parade of hopefuls, all with their own stories and aspirations, shuffled in and out. Some looked like seasoned performers, while others had the raw potential that could be molded into something great. Each one had their own unique charm, but none of them could match the fire in his eyes.
Hinata took a moment to gather his thoughts before approaching the sleek, reception desk. The receptionist, a sharply dressed woman with a stern look, barely glanced up from her paperwork. He cleared his throat and announced, "I'm Hinata Shouyou. I'm here for the audition for the open spot in the Karasuno idol group."
Her eyes flicked up, and she studied him for a brief moment before her expression softened into a professional smile. "You're in the right place. Please sign in here. Afterwards please proceed to Studio 3 for the preliminary assessments with the other candidates." She handed him a clipboard with a pen attached by a string.
Hinata's hand trembled slightly as he signed his name, the reality of his dreams feeling so close he could almost touch it. The clipboard felt heavier than it should, as if each stroke of his pen was signing away his old life and ushering in a new chapter. He took a deep breath and handed it back to her. "Thank you," he said, his voice steady despite the racing of his heart.
The receptionist nodded, pointing to the left. "Good luck, Mr. Hinata."
The hallway was lined with doors marked with the names of various HQ idol groups. The walls were adorned with glossy posters of smiling faces and dynamic poses, each one a silent testament to the hard work and talent that lay behind them. As he walked to Studio 3, the echoes of music and laughter from the other studios filled the corridor, a symphony of hope and ambition. He felt a rush of excitement and a touch of fear—this was his moment.
Entering the studio, he found a group of young hopefuls, all dressed to impress and radiating confidence. They whispered among themselves, casting curious glances in his direction. The room was starkly lit with a few mirrors reflecting their nervous faces and a stage at the front with a single spotlight shining down on it. The scent of hairspray and new shoes hung in the air, a peculiar mix that he had come to associate with the world of idols.
The choreographer, a stern-faced man named Ukai, called out to them, his eyes scanning the room with an intensity that made even the most seasoned performers shift uncomfortably. "Welcome to the auditions for the new member of Karasuno. I expect nothing less than your absolute best." His voice was firm but not unkind, and something about it made the knot in Hinata's stomach loosen just a little.
The audition process was rigorous, starting with a dance routine that had them sweating and panting. The beat was fast and complex, but it was nothing compared to the rhythm of his heart as he stepped onto the stage. He could feel Bokuto's energy from afar, willing him to do his best. The mirrors reflected a sea of hopefuls, each trying to outshine the others, but all he could see was himself and the dance moves they had practiced together so many times.
As the music stopped and the dust from the dance floor settled, Ukai announced the next part of the audition: a vocal performance. The contestants were each given a song to perform, and for a brief moment, Hinata felt a flicker of doubt. Bokuto had always been the better singer of the two, his voice rich and powerful. But he pushed those thoughts aside, reminding himself that this was his chance to show what he had to offer.
One by one, they took the stage, their voices soaring through the studio. Some hit the high notes with ease, while others struggled but showed potential. When it was his turn, Hinata took a deep breath and stepped into the spotlight. He closed his eyes, picturing Bokuto standing beside him, and let the music flow through him. His voice was clear and earnest, a stark contrast to the polished performances that came before. The lyrics were about friendship and dreams, a testament to their shared journey.
As the final notes of his song hung in the air, the room fell silent. The tension was palpable, the other contestants watching with bated breath. Ukai's expression was unreadable as he made notes on his clipboard. Then, without a word, he gestured to the next hopeful. The process continued, each performance a battle cry for their future.
When the vocal auditions concluded, Ukai thanked everyone for their time and announced that only a select few would proceed to the final round. The room emptied, leaving a trail of deflated spirits and the faint echo of their dreams. Hinata waited, his heart pounding against his ribs like a drum, the anticipation almost too much to bear.
The minutes stretched into an eternity until Ukai called out the names of the chosen few. Each time a name was called, a sigh of relief or a gasp of excitement pierced the silence. Finally, "Hinata Shouyou." His heart soared as he stepped forward, the spotlight once again finding him.
The final round was a grueling test of endurance and skill. They were pushed to their limits, their bodies aching and their voices strained, but the prize was worth every drop of sweat. The remaining contestants were a diverse group, each with a unique spark that made them stand out.
For the final challenge, they were to be interviewed a series of questions that tested not just their talent but their character and determination. The cameras rolled, capturing every nervous smile and bead of sweat. The judges, a panel of industry veterans, scrutinized each contestant with a mix of curiosity and skepticism.
Hinata was the last to go. He took a seat in the hot seat, feeling the weight of the lights above him and the eyes of his peers and the judges.
"Mr Hinata i must say your quite talented," one of the judges began, a woman with a sharp gaze and an impeccable bob, "but what makes you think you're cut out for the idol life? It's not just about singing and dancing. It's about the brand, the image, the ability to connect with fans."
Hinata took a deep breath, his eyes never leaving hers. "I understand that," he said, his voice firm despite the tremble in his chest. "But I've always believed that being an idol is about more than just performing. It's about inspiring people, making them believe in themselves and hope for a better tomorrow." He paused, a smile playing on his lips as he thought of Bokuto. "My best friend is an idol, and he's shown me that it's possible to be true to yourself while shining on stage."
"Your friend is an idol? May I ask who it is?" another judge, a man with a knowing smile, inquired.
Hinata felt a rush of pride. "Bokuto Koutarou from Fukurodani. We've been friends since childhood, admiring idols dreaming to become one ourselves. We grew up spending all our free time together, learning, practicing, and pushing each other to be better." His words hung in the air, filled with sincerity and a touch of nostalgia.
The judges exchanged glances, some scribbling notes while others nodded thoughtfully. The woman with the sharp gaze leaned forward. "Very well, Mr. Hinata. Tell us, what makes you think you can stand out in this cutthroat industry?"
Hinata's smile grew as he thought of the countless hours he and Bokuto had spent perfecting their craft. "I believe that my passion and love will set me apart. I also have a positive outlook and my friends and family joke that my Sunshine personality can light up any room. Plus, I never give up, no matter the challenge." His eyes lit up as he spoke.
The judges nodded, clearly impressed by his answer. Ukai spoke up, "And what would you say is your greatest strength that you would bring to Karasuno?"
Hinata didn't miss a beat, "My ability to connect with others. In school I was always the one making friends, bringing people together. I want to use that strength to reach out to our fans and fellow idols, to let them know that they're not alone, and that through our performances, we can all share in something special."
The judges nodded in approval, and the interview concluded with a final round of applause. The contestants were sent home with the promise that the results would be revealed in a week's time.
As soon as Hinata stepped outside the towering HQ Entertainment building, he pulled out his phone and composed a message to Bokuto, his thumbs flying over the screen. "Hey, I just finished my audition! Can't believe it, but I made it to the final round!" His heart raced with excitement as he sent the message, the adrenaline of the day's events still coursing through his veins. "I hope I did good in the interview round."
Hinata's phone buzzed with a response from Bokuto almost immediately. "Yo! That's amazing, Shou! You're gonna kill it. I can feel it!" His enthusiasm was infectious, and Hinata couldn't help but smile as he tucked his phone away.
He took a deep breath, the cool evening air filling his lungs as he leaned against the wall of the building. The bustling street in front of him was a blur of neon lights and rushing foot traffic, but his thoughts remained focused on the audition. "What if I don't make it?" he wondered, his mind racing with doubt. "What if I'm not good enough?" But he quickly pushed those negative thoughts aside, remembering the fire in his eyes when he'd stepped on stage. He'd given it his all, and that was all that mattered.
The week dragged on, each day feeling like an eternity. He threw himself into his training, pushing himself harder than ever before, fueled by the hope that he could soon stand beside Bokuto as an equal. He watched countless videos of Karasuno's performances, studying their moves and trying to imagine himself fitting in alongside them. His days were filled with dance rehearsals and vocal training, while his nights were spent crafting the perfect message to send to his soon-to-be fans.
Finally, the fateful day arrived. He was doing his usual morning practice when his phone rang, displaying an unknown number with the HQ Entertainment logo. His heart skipped a beat as he answered the call.
"Hinata Shouyou," the voice on the other end announced, "congratulations! You've been selected to become the newest member of the Karasuno idol group."
Hinata's eyes widened in disbelief, his hand shaking as he held the phone. "Thank you," he managed to squeak out, his voice barely above a whisper.
"Don't thank us yet," Ukai said, a hint of amusement in his tone. "The real work starts now."
Hinata nodded, his mind racing. "I understand. I'll give it everything I've got."
"Good. How soon can you move the company Dorms? We want to start your training immediately." Ukai's voice was firm but not unkind.
Hinata's mind raced with excitement and a touch of panic. "I...I can move in tonight," he stuttered, his voice filled with a mix of elation and disbelief.
"Very well. We'll expect you at 8 PM sharp," Ukai replied before hanging up.
The next few hours were a blur of frantic packing and emotional goodbyes. His mother, overjoyed at the news, helped him stuff his suitcase with clothes and personal items, her eyes gleaming with pride. His father, usually stoic, gave him a firm pat on the back and a rare smile. "Remember, Shou," he said, his voice thick with emotion, "always stay true to yourself."
"Make sure you call home and talk to me big brother!" His little sister Natsu called out as he closed the door to their apartment. The echo of her voice and her cheerful smile remained in his mind as he navigated the crowded streets of Tokyo.
Hinata's heart was racing as he arrived at the HQ Entertainment building for the second time, this time not as a hopeful but as an official member of the Karasuno idol group. The receptionist from his audition day greeted him with a knowing smile and handed him a keycard with the Karasuno emblem. "Welcome, Mr.Hinata. Your new home is on the 15th floor."
The elevator ride felt like an eternity as he watched the numbers tick by. When the doors slid open, he stepped into a sleek, modern hallway, lined with doors, each with a nameplate of a current Karasuno member. His own name was there, shiny and new, next to the others. He took a deep breath, his heart thundering in his chest, and pushed the door open to reveal his new living space. The room was small but well-appointed, with a single bed, a desk, and a wardrobe. It was stark and unfamiliar, but he knew it would soon be filled with his personality and the memories of the journey ahead.
As he unpacked his bags, the reality of his situation began to sink in. He was now part of a world he had only ever dreamed of.
Reaching for his phone, which felt almost as crucial as the air he breathed, he took a moment to appreciate the space that was now his. It was modest, but it was a place where he could rest, train, and grow as an idol. With a grin, he held the phone up to capture the essence of his new home—his new life. The camera clicked, and the image saved, a silent promise of the stories he would soon fill these four walls with.
With trembling thumbs, he composed a message to Bokuto, the excitement bubbling over. "I'm in, I got the spot! And I'm all moved in!" The exclamation points punctuated the thrill of his words, and the anticipation grew as he awaited his friend's reply. He knew Bokuto would be overjoyed, maybe even a little jealous, but mostly proud.
The response was swift and enthusiastic. "Congrats, Shou! We'll have to meet up when I get back from my Osaka performance! Can't wait to see you in action!" Bokuto's words sent a warm jolt through him. The thought of seeing his friend in the same industry filled him with a mix of excitement and nervousness.
A knock on the door startled him from his thoughts, and he rushed over to open it. There stood a young man with average height and slender build. He had slightly thick eyebrows, light grey hair, and hazel-brown eyes with a birthmark mole under his left eye. "Hi, I'm Sugawara!" the boy said with a smile. "I heard you're our newest member. I'm the second in command of Karasuno, nice to meet you."
Hinata's cheeks flushed with excitement. "Nice to meet you too, Sugawara-san! I'm Hinata Shouyou."
Sugawara nodded, his smile growing wider. "I know, I know. Ukai showed us your audition tape. You've got some serious moves! I'm looking forward to seeing what you bring to the group." His voice was welcoming, and it helped ease some of the tension that had built up in Hinata's shoulders.
"Thanks, Sugawara-san. I'll do my best," Hinata replied, feeling a weight lift from his chest. It was comforting to know that he wasn't walking into this blindly, that there was someone in the group who knew his capabilities and was eager to see him shine.
"Anyway. I was sent to escort you to the group's evening meeting," Sugawara said, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "The guys are dying to meet you."
Hinata nodded, his nerves returning as he followed Sugawara down the hallway. The walls were plastered with photos of Karasuno and their various achievements, reminding him of the legacy he was now a part of. As they entered the common area, a flurry of activity greeted them. The other members of Karasuno were scattered around, some practicing dance routines while others were in deep conversation.
The room fell silent as they approached, all eyes on the newcomer. Sugawara clapped his hands, drawing everyone's attention. "Everyone, this is our newest member, Hinata Shouyou!" The group of young men erupted into applause, and a few called out welcomes.
"Good evening Hinata-san I'm Daichi sawamura, Karasuno's leader," said a tall, muscular man with a calm and reassuring smile, extending his hand. His firm handshake and steady gaze immediately put Hinata at ease. "Welcome to the family," he added, and the warmth in his voice was genuine. "Allow me to introduce you to everyone."
Daichi led him around the room, pointing out each member and their specialties. There was Asahi, the stoic yet incredibly talented dancer, who nodded solemnly when introduced; Nishinoya, the hyperactive rapper with a surprisingly gentle touch; and Tanaka, the charismatic center whose smile could light up a room. Next was Ennoshita, Kinoshita and Narita, the visual trio known for their breathtaking harmonies.
Then there was the stoic Tsukishima, known for his powerful vocals and sharp wit, and Yamaguchi, whose shy demeanor contrasted sharply with his explosive dance moves. Lastly, there was Kageyama, whose intense gaze made it clear that he was not one to be underestimated.
The tension in the room was palpable as they sized each other up, but there was also a sense of camaraderie, a bond forged by their shared passion for performance. The members of Karasuno were a tight-knit group, and it was clear that they were looking to see if Hinata could fit into their dynamic.
"Hey there! You must be the new kid," a cheerful voice rang out, and a blur rushed towards him. It was Nishinoya, his eyes sparkling with curiosity. "Welcome to the chaos," he said, giving him a playful nudge.
The room erupted into a cacophony of greetings, and soon he was engulfed in a whirlwind of handshakes and introductions. Each member had a distinct energy that was both thrilling and intimidating, and he found himself trying to absorb it all.
"Nice to meet you. I hope I can live up to your expectations," Hinata said with a chuckle, as the members of Karasuno gathered around him. He felt a mix of excitement and anxiety as he looked into their eager faces, each one a reflection of the dreams and aspirations he had held onto for so long.
"Alright! Everyone back off and sit down let's get this meeting started!" Ukai called entering the room with a stack of papers in his hand. The members of Karasuno took their seats, and the chatter died down to a murmur.
Hinata sat awkwardly, feeling the weight of everyone's gazes on him. His palms were sweaty, and he wiped them on his pants before folding his hands in his lap. He watched as Ukai set up a projector and pulled out a remote.
"Alright, down to business," Ukai began, his eyes scanning the group before focusing on the screen. "We have a new single 'backstreet love' coming up, and we need to start preparing for the music video and live performances. We also need to take promo pictures and videos introducing Hinata-san to our fans."
The room buzzed with excitement as they discussed the upcoming single 'backstreet love', the strategies for the music video, and the concept for their next live show. The conversation was fast-paced and filled with industry jargon that was both thrilling and overwhelming. Hinata took it all in, nodding along, trying to contribute where he could, but mostly just eager to learn from the experienced idols around him.
As the meeting drew to a close, Ukai turned to him with a serious expression. "Hinata, your first day of training starts tomorrow at 6 AM sharp. Be ready to work hard and push yourself to new limits. Training takes place down on floor five." He handed him a detailed schedule, and the gravity of his new life settled in.
The rest of the evening was a whirlwind of unpacking and trying to get to know his new roommates. They were welcoming, sharing stories of their own audition days and offering him words of encouragement. The walls of their shared living space were plastered with posters of their own idols, serving as a constant reminder of the dreams that had brought them together.
As the night grew late, the members of Karasuno began to drift off to their own rooms. The silence was a stark contrast to the energy of the day, but it gave him a moment to breathe. He lay in bed, his heart racing with excitement and fear, thinking about the long road ahead.

Chapter 2: Training, And A Reunion
Chapter Text
The next morning, the shrill ring of his alarm jolted him awake. The sun had barely risen, but he was already dressed and ready to tackle the day. Training was intense, pushing him beyond his limits. His muscles screamed in protest as he practiced the complex choreography that was to be part of their new single. Yet, every time he glanced over at the other members, their focused expressions mirrored his own determination.
Takeda, the choreographer, was a demanding taskmaster, pushing them to perfection with a critical eye and a sharp tongue. Despite the exhaustion, Hinata couldn't help but feel a thrill of excitement as he watched the routine come together. He knew this was his chance to prove himself, to show that he belonged here among these talented individuals.
Lunch was a welcome break, but the conversation remained focused on the upcoming single. The members of Karasuno were eager to hear his thoughts on the music and the concept, making him feel included and valued. They talked strategy and personal branding, and he found himself eagerly contributing, his mind racing with ideas.
After lunch, the training shifted to vocal lessons, where the group's vocal coach, Kiyoko, put them through their paces. It was clear that Bokuto's confidence had rubbed off on him, as he belted out his notes with surprising power. Kiyoko nodded approvingly, scribbling notes as she listened intently. "Good, good," she murmured, her expression unreadable. "But you need to work on your breath control."
The rest of the afternoon was spent filming promotional material for the new member introduction. The lights were blinding, the cameras unnerving, but Hinata's excitement propelled him through it all. He watched as the older members of Karasuno took turns in front of the camera with ease, their smiles as bright as the flashes. When it was his turn, he took a deep breath and channeled all the energy of his childhood dreams.
As the camera rolled, he introduced himself with the practiced ease of a seasoned professional, his words filled with excitement and promise. His heart hammered in his chest as he talked about his childhood friendship with Bokuto and his love for idols that had led him to this moment. He could feel the warmth of the lights, the pressure of the moment, but he remained unflappable.
The other members watched him with a mix of admiration and envy. Here was someone who hadn't yet been jaded by the industry, who still saw the sparkle in the stars that had drawn them all here. It was a reminder of why they had started, and it rekindled a fire in their eyes.
"Great job, rookie," Tanaka said, clapping him on the back. "You've got a lot to learn, but you've got the right attitude."
"I still can't believe your childhood friends with Bokuto Koutarou," Ennoshita whispered in amazement as they took a break from filming. "We were all shocked, when we heard you say it in your audition tape."
Hinata couldn't help but blush at the mention of his friendship with Bokuto. "Yeah, we go way back. He's always been my biggest supporter, even when I didn't think I could do it."
The day's activities ended with a grueling workout session, designed to keep the idols in peak physical condition. As he collapsed onto the floor, panting and sweating, he couldn't help but feel a sense of accomplishment. He'd made it through his first full day as a member of Karasuno, and the camaraderie of his new brothers was already starting to feel like home.
That night, after a quick shower and a meal with the group, he finally had a moment to himself. He picked up his phone, scrolling through the messages from his old school friends congratulating him on joining Karasuno. His thoughts drifted to Bokuto, and he sent another message. "Just finished my first day of training. It's so much harder than I thought, but I'm loving every second of it. Can't wait to tell you all about it when we meet up!"
He knew Bokuto would be proud, and the thought spurred him on. As he lay in his new bed, staring at the ceiling, he allowed himself a moment of quiet reflection. The reality of his new life was setting in, and with it, a profound sense of purpose. He had worked tirelessly to get here, and now the real work began.
The days that followed were a blur of early mornings, rigorous training, and late-night rehearsals.
Hinata's body ached from the constant physical exertion, but his spirit remained undeterred. He watched in awe as the Karasuno members supported and pushed each other, their collective drive to be the best an unspoken bond that held them together. He saw in them the same passion he had for idols when he was just a wide-eyed fan, and it fueled his determination to match their dedication.
One evening as they sat for dinner in Karasuno's kitchen, the smell of a homemade feast filled the air, courtesy of their resident chef, Asahi. The conversation was light-hearted, with everyone sharing stories from their days before idolhood.
Suddenly, the elevator doors slid open with a dramatic ding, and a burst of laughter and chatter spilled into the room. Bokuto, flanked by his own group members, stumbled in, his eyes lighting up when he saw Hinata. "Shou-chan!" he roared, his usual boisterous self. The room grew quiet as all eyes turned to the new arrivals.
Bokuto's manager, a stern-looking woman in a sharp suit, stepped forward, her voice cutting through the din. "Bokuto-san, the Karasuno members are probably tired from practice. I know you're excited to see your friend again, but we're on a tight schedule." She glanced at her watch, a clear signal that time was of the essence.
"Boukto!!!!" Hinata couldn't contain his excitement as he leaped from his chair, his voice echoing through the silent room. The others looked up from their plates, surprised by the sudden outburst.
Bokuto's eyes grew wide with surprise and joy as he saw his friend sprinting towards him, the gap between them closing in seconds. They collided in a bear hug that was two parts exuberance and one part exhaustion, laughing as they stumbled backward. The tension in the room broke like a dam, and the Karasuno members couldn't help but smile at the reunion.
"You all better be taking care of this little ball of sunshine. He's gonna be the next big thing, just you wait!" Bokuto said, his arms still wrapped around a beaming Hinata. "I'm so proud of You Shouyou. We were on our way to our dorms a few floors up, but i just had to stop and see you."
"Thanks, Bokuto," Hinata replied, his voice muffled against his friend's shoulder. "It's been so intense here, but I'm loving every minute of it."
Daichi cleared his throat, breaking the moment. "We should get back to our dinner before it gets cold. You can catch up later, right?"
Bokuto nodded, though his eyes remained glued to Hinata. "Yeah, sure. We've got a packed schedule tomorrow anyway." He gave him a final squeeze before releasing him. "But don't think I've forgotten our promise, Shou. I'll be watching you from the sidelines. You've got to catch up to me!"
As the Fukurodani members and their entourage disappeared back into the elevator, the Karasuno members returned to their meals, the atmosphere in the room noticeably brighter.
"Man your just as boisterous as Bokuto! No wonder you two are best friends," Tanaka said with a laugh as they settled back into their dinner.
Hinata couldn't help the smile that spread across his face. He knew that Bokuto's energy was infectious, and he was grateful for the brief visit. It was a stark reminder of the path they had both chosen and the dreams they had sworn to chase together.
"Oh I just got a notification! Shouyou's promo just got posted to Karasuno's social media," Kinoshita squealed, pulling out his phone and navigating to the latest post. The room grew quiet as everyone leaned in to see the screen. There was Hinata, smiling brightly, dressed in the Karasuno outfit for the first time, looking every bit the part of a fresh-faced idol.
The comments began to flood in, a mix of excitement from new fans and well-wishes from old ones who had followed him from his street performance days. "Look at that! You're already trending, Shou," Ennoshita said with a nudge.
More comments rolled in about his childhood friendship with Bokuto, saying how adorable it was.
"I can't believe it," Hinata whispered, his eyes scanning the endless stream of messages. "This is really happening."
Sugawara slapped him on the back. "You better believe it, rookie. You're a Karasuno member now, and it's showtime."
"By the way Hinata, do you have any official social media account yet?" Ukai, who had been quietly observing, asked as he took a sip of his tea.
"Not yet, I was waiting to get accepted," he replied, feeling a bit embarrassed.
"Well, now's the perfect time to set one up," Ukai said with a knowing smile. "Fans want to see the person behind the idol. Plus, it's good for promoting the group."
"Usually Ukai just has us post everyday stuff like rehearsals, fan meetings, us hanging out, and tease our upcoming projects," Sugawara explained Finishing his food. "But now that you're here, we'll have to spice it up. Maybe some behind-the-scenes of you learning the ropes."
"What nickname will you give his account? How about shorty or carrot top?" Tsukishima remarked with a smirk, earning him a warning glare from Daichi.
"Oh I got it! How about SunShou!" Yamaguchi exclaimed, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "It's a play on your name and your bright personality!"
The room erupted into laughter, and even Tsukishima couldn't resist cracking a smile. "Fine, SunShou it is," Ukai said with a chuckle. "Let's set it up now so we can tag your posts with ours."
As the members cleared their plates and moved into the living room, Kinoshita pulled out his laptop. Within minutes, they had set up an account with the handle @SunShou_Hinata, and they uploaded photos from previous photo shoots and tagged his account to his promo video on the Karasuno's official channel. The notifications on his phone began to buzz non-stop as fans started to follow and interact with him.
Daichi looked at him, a glint of pride in his eyes. "Welcome to the digital stage, SunShou. Remember, it's just as important as the real one."
"Hey I have a question. I remember Bokuto said he lives a few floors up. Does that mean all the groups live in the same building?" Shouyou asked as he typed in his new social media password into his phone.
"Yeah, HQ's got the whole tower dedicated to us idols. Each floor is a different group's dorm," Tanaka replied, scrolling through his own feed. "From the fourteenth floor up. Floor fourteen is managers, choreographers, and other staff. Then floors fifteen and up are for the groups.
"Going up the tower there's us on fifteen then Nekoma above us, then Fukurodani, Inarizaki, Shiratorizawa, Aoba Johsai and Itachiyama. It's like a mini idol city in here," Daichi said, explaining the dorm layout.
"Then floors thirteen and down are dedicated to training facilities, studios, and other amenities," Ukai added, as he pulled out his own phone to check the latest fan reactions.
Hinata's eyes widened. "So, we're all so close? That's amazing!" He couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and intimidation at the thought of being so near to the other idol groups he had looked up to for so long.
"Yeah, it's like a never-ending battle of who's got the loudest fans," Tsukishima said, rolling his eyes. "But it's also pretty convenient when we have joint events.
"But it also sucks cause some people here behind the public persona are stuck up and think they're gods gift," Nishinoya said, plopping down on the couch. "I'd advice staying away from Aoba Johsai and Shiratorizawa outside of business. There a perfect example of what happens when idol life goes to your head behind the scenes.
Daichi nodded in agreement. "But don't let that dull your shine, Shouyou. You're here to shine, not get dragged into drama."
Hinata nodded solemnly, taking their words to heart. He was determined to make a name for himself in the industry, but he knew he didn't want to lose sight of who he was or the friendships that had brought him here.
Chapter 3: Originals, and Writing
Chapter Text
The days turned into weeks as Hinata immersed himself in the idol lifestyle. His schedule was packed with dance rehearsals, vocal training, and photoshoots, leaving little time to process the gravity of his newfound fame. The members of Karasuno had become his second family, each one offering a unique blend of support and rivalry that pushed him to improve every day.
One afternoon, as he stood in the kitchen making a snack, he sang quietly to himself, the words of a song he'd written called "My Sweet Hatchling" floating through the air. The lyrics were a heartfelt tribute to the innocent beginnings of a dream, the moment when it first takes flight. Unbeknownst to him, a few of his bandmates had entered the room, drawn in by the melody that resonated with their own experiences.
Sugawara was the first to speak, his voice low and filled with wonder. "Is that your original?"
Hinata blushed, spinning around with a snack in hand. "Oh, uh, yeah. Just something I've been working on," he mumbled, hoping the floor would swallow him up.
"That was beautiful, Shou," Asahi said, walking over to him. "What's it about?"
Hinata's cheeks grew even redder as he fiddled with the hem of his shirt. "It's about the moment you start to believe in a dream, you know? When you're so small, and the world seems so big, but you just keep pushing forward because you know it's what you're meant to do."
"Have you written any music to with the lyrics yet? It could be amazing," Sugawara suggested, a glint of interest in his eyes.
"Not really," Hinata said shyly, "I've been so busy with training that I haven't had much time to work on it."
"Well, we should change that," Asahi said with a determined nod. "Let's grab the others and see what we can come up with together."
"I'll get my guitar," Sugawara exclaimed, bolting out of the room.
"I'll go get the lyrics I've written so far then and meet you in the lounge room with that and my snack," Shouyou said, eager to not only share his work but also to get to know his members better. As he dashed to his room, he couldn't help but feel a flutter of excitement. This was his chance to contribute something personal to the group, something that could potentially resonate with their fans.
The lounge was already buzzing with activity by the time he arrived. Sugawara had indeed fetched his guitar, and the rest of the members were already there, instruments in hand or notepads and pencils at the ready. The atmosphere was one of creativity and camaraderie, a stark contrast to the rigorous training sessions they were all accustomed to.
Placing his apple slices on the table, he pulled out the crumpled piece of paper that held the lyrics to "My Sweet Hatchling."
"The songs name is 'My Sweet Hatchling'," he announced with a sheepish smile, handing the paper to Sugawara who eagerly scanned the lyrics. "It's about that moment when you start to believe in your dreams, even when the world seems so overwhelming and you're just a tiny little thing trying to find your way."
The room grew quiet as Sugawara began to strum the guitar, trying to find the right melody to match the poignant words. Each member listened intently, their eyes closed as they felt the rhythm of the potential song.
As the chords grew more confident, Shouyou took a deep breath, and with a tentative start, he sang the first few lines of "My Sweet Hatchling." His voice, though untrained, held a raw emotion that seemed to resonate with the very core of the room. As the lyrics spilled from his lips, the members of Karasuno couldn't help but nod along, the melody starting to take shape before their very ears.
The room grew quieter still, the only sounds the strumming of Sugawara's guitar and the occasional rustle of paper as someone jotted down a note or two. The music grew in intensity, the melody wrapping around the poignant words like a warm embrace, giving them life.
As the last note faded, the room remained in a hush, the weight of the unspoken understanding heavy in the air. This wasn't just a song; it was a declaration, a symbol of their shared journey. One by one, the members of Karasuno opened their eyes, looking at him with newfound respect.
"It's not much right now, but I think we can turn it into something special," Asahi said, breaking the silence. His voice was soft, but his eyes gleamed with excitement. "It's got heart, Shou. That's what fans connect to."
"You know it actually goes well with another song I'm working on," Ennoshita mused, setting the guitar aside and pulling out his own notebook. "It's about the growing up and the pain that comes with it, but finding strength in your friends. It's called 'Wings of Resilience'."
"We should finish both and present them to Ukai-san," suggested Kageyama, his eyes alight with excitement. "If he likes them, we could perform them at our next live show! Maybe even add them to our next album!"
The thought of performing original music filled Hinata with a mix of fear and exhilaration. "But what if it's not good enough?" he whispered, his voice barely audible over the buzz of excitement in the room.
Daichi clapped a firm hand on his shoulder. "Don't doubt yourself. We wouldn't be here if we didn't believe in you," he assured him. "And if Ukai-san thinks it's good, it's good. Trust us, we know what we're doing."
"We should split into two groups and work on both songs," Tsukishima proposed, already planning out the dynamics in his head. "Asahi, Sugawara, and I can help you with 'My Sweet Hatchling', with Shouyou. And the rest of you can work on 'Wings of Resilience'. We'll discuss some more after we've got something solid."
Everyone nodded in agreement, the air in the room crackling with creativity. As they dispersed to work on their respective songs.
Hinata found himself in a small practice room with Asahi, Sugawara, and Tsukishima, his heart racing as they started to build upon the melody. Sugawara's guitar filled the space, complementing his tentative singing, while Tsukishima and Asahi listened intently, offering suggestions for harmonies and rhythm.
"Let's add a bridge," Asahi suggested after they had practiced the chorus a few times. "Something that builds up the emotional climax."
Hinata nodded, scribbling down a few lines that had come to mind. He took a deep breath and sang the new part, his voice gaining confidence with each syllable. The bridge told the story of the moment when doubt creeps in, but the warmth of friendship and shared dreams lights the way forward. The room fell silent again as he finished, the echo of his voice lingering in the air.
Sugawara's eyes lit up. "That's it, Shou! That's what makes this song special. It's not just about the dreams but about the people who help you chase them." He began to play around with the chords, finding a harmony that perfectly matched the lyrics.
The hours flew by as they worked tirelessly on the bridge, each of them contributing their own flair to the piece. The music grew more complex, the emotions more profound, and by the time they had something they were satisfied with, the room was filled with a palpable energy.
"It's perfect," Shouyou whispered, listening to the final chords of "My Sweet Hatchling" resonate in the small practice room. He felt a sense of pride swell in his chest as he looked around at Asahi, Sugawara, and Tsukishima, their faces mirroring his own satisfaction. "I never thought I'd hear it come together like this."
"Now we just need to get Ukai-san's approval," Tsukishima said, his usual smugness replaced by a rare hint of excitement. "But I think we've got a winner here. Let's go see how the others are going on 'Wings of Resilience'."
They walked back into the lounge to find the rest of the group equally engrossed in their work. Kageyama and Ennoshita were scribbling furiously on a piece of staff paper, while Nishinoya and Tanaka were throwing ideas back and forth, their voices a mix of passion and concentration.
Kinoshita, Narita, Yamaguchi and Daichi were in a corner, their heads close together as they whispered over a shared laptop, their faces illuminated by the screen's glow. The room buzzed with creativity and anticipation as each group prepared to share their work.
"Hey! We finished 'my sweet hatchling' guys!" Asahi announced, interrupting the intense brainstorming session of the others.
The room fell silent as they gathered around, eager to hear their newest creation. With a nod from Tsukishima, Sugawara began to play the opening chords, setting the stage for the heartfelt ballad.
Hinata took a deep breath, his eyes closed as he sang the first verse, his voice filled with the raw emotion of his own journey. The lyrics spoke to the hearts of each member of Karasuno, who had all experienced the same feelings of doubt and determination.
As he reached the bridge, the others joined in, their voices weaving together in a harmony that brought tears to the eyes of those who listened.
"It's incredible," Kageyama said, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "The way it captures the essence of our shared dreams and the bonds we've formed."
Daichi nodded in agreement, a rare smile playing on his lips. "It's got that 'wow' factor, the kind that makes fans scream their lungs out."
"How about you guys? How is 'Wings of Resilience' coming along?" Shouyou asked, his voice still a little shaky from the intense emotion of their performance.
Ennoshita looked up from his paper, his eyes alight. "We've got a solid base for 'Wings of Resilience,' but we still need to tweak it a bit. Maybe we can all jam together and see what happens."
"Sounds good. Let's get it done," Tsukishima said with a nod, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
The room buzzed with renewed energy as everyone shifted to work on 'Wings of Resilience'. The lyrics and melody were already solid, but they knew they had to perfect it if they wanted Ukai to consider it for their setlist. Nishinoya took the lead on the bass, his fingers moving with a precision that reflected his passion for music. Kinoshita and Tanaka brought in the rhythm section, their beats syncing up perfectly with Sugawara's guitar riff.
Daichi leaned over the piano, his fingers dancing across the keys as he experimented with different chords to enhance the song's emotional punch. Ennoshita, with his notepad in hand, offered suggestions on the bridge, pushing the limits of their harmonies. They all knew the importance of this moment. It wasn't just about creating a hit; it was about crafting a piece of art that reflected their shared experiences, their struggles, and their triumphs.
Yamaguchi, who had been quietly observing, suddenly spoke up. "Guys, I think I've got it." He hummed a tune, and the others leaned in to listen. It was a simple melody, yet it had a certain charm to it that seemed to fit perfectly with the theme of the song. "What if we add a glockenspiel?" he suggested, his voice filled with excitement.
Daichi raised an eyebrow. "A glockenspiel? That's a bit...unconventional."
Yamaguchi nodded eagerly. "But think about it. It adds a layer of innocence, like the sound of a music box. It's perfect for the part where we sing about finding strength in our friendships."
The group exchanged glances, and the room grew thoughtful as they considered his idea. It was different, but sometimes that was exactly what a song needed to stand out. With a nod from Ukai, who had entered the room unnoticed, they decided to give it a shot.
Yamaguchi dashed off to find a glockenspiel, his excitement palpable. The rest of Karasuno continued to build on 'Wings of Resilience', each member contributing their unique style and flair to the mix. The song grew from a simple concept into a powerful anthem that encapsulated their shared experiences of growth and perseverance.
As the melody grew more complex, the group's chemistry grew stronger, each member feeding off the other's energy. They laughed, they debated, they even had a mini food fight with the snacks scattered around the room. Yet through it all, the music remained the heart of their bonding.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity of tweaks and experimentation, "Wings of Resilience" took flight. The final product was a blend of their individual styles and emotions, a symphony of their collective soul. The lyrics spoke of overcoming adversity, finding solace in friendship, and soaring to new heights together. It was a testament to their unity as a group and their shared dreams.
"Alright! There both done! So hwbe do we present these to Ukai-san?" Shouyou asked, his eyes darting around the room, his excitement barely contained.
"I'll text him now and inform him about the new songs. While you guys start dinner. Its getting to that time anyway," Daichi said, taking out his phone and typing away.
The kitchen was a flurry of activity as everyone pitched in, the smell of onions and garlic filling the air. Tsukishima took the lead, chopping vegetables with a grace that belied his usual laid-back demeanor. Tanaka was at the stove, his laughter echoing through the room as he tried to teach Nishinoya how to cook rice without burning it.
While dinner sizzled in the pan, the group gathered around the dining table, their plates piled high with food. The conversation was a mix of laughter and strategizing about their upcoming debut. The camaraderie was palpable as they shared stories of their past, their eyes sparkling with excitement for their future together.
After dinner, they gathered in the lounge, the air thick with anticipation. Ukai walked in, his stern expression giving way to a small smile as he took in the scene before him. The members of Karasuno sat in a semi-circle, their eyes gleaming with hope and determination.
"So i hear Shouyou and Ennoshita have been cooking up some original tracks," Ukai said, his eyes scanning over each of them. "That you all helped finish."
"Yes sir. Shouyou's is called 'My Sweet Hatchling' and it's about finding the strength to chase your dreams," Asahi spoke up, his voice filled with pride. "And Ennoshita's is 'Wings of Resilience', which is about growing through the tough times with the support of friends."
Ukai nodded, his eyes gleaming. "Well, let's not keep me in suspense then. Give me a taste of what you've got."
With a mix of excitement and nerves, Karasuno launched into "My Sweet Hatchling." Sugawara's gentle guitar strums set the stage for Shouyou's earnest vocals, which grew stronger and more confident with each line. As they reached the bridge, the room was filled with the sound of their combined voices, their harmonies resonating with the raw emotion of their shared dreams.
Ukai listened intently, his expression unreadable. When they finished, the room was silent for a moment before erupting in applause. He cleared his throat, the clapping dying down. "It's...different," he said, his eyes thoughtful. "But that's what we need. Something that sets us apart from the rest."
He turned to Ennoshita. "Now, 'Wings of Resilience'. Show me what you've got."
The group took their positions again, and Ennoshita began to sing, his powerful voice resonating through the room. The melody was uplifting, the lyrics speaking to the heart of what it meant to be an idol—to face challenges with courage and to find strength in unity. As the song progressed, each member added their voice to the mix, creating a harmony that was both inspiring and heartwarming.
Ukai's expression grew more intense with each verse, his eyes never leaving Ennoshita's face. The room vibrated with the energy of the music, the walls seemingly closing in on them as the song reached its crescendo. When the final notes of the glockenspiel faded away, there was a brief silence before Ukai broke into applause.
"Incredible," he said, his voice filled with genuine admiration. "I can see why you're all so excited about these songs. They're not just catchy; they have substance. They tell a story that our fans can relate to."
Hinata felt a weight lift from his shoulders. Ukai's approval was crucial, and he knew the others felt the same. They had all put their hearts and souls into creating something that was not just for the fans, but for themselves as well.
"Thank you, Ukai-san," Ennoshita said, bowing slightly.
"So do you think their worthy of being pubicly performed?" Daichi asked, his voice steady despite the excitement bubbling beneath the surface.
Ukai steepled his fingers, his gaze sweeping over each member of the group. "They're definitely worthy," he said finally, a smile tugging at the corners of his lips. "But they're not perfect yet. We need to work on the arrangements, the choreography, and the overall performance. But the potential is undeniable. Let's record it and the choreographer can start working on the routine for 'My Sweet Hatchling' and 'Wings of Resilience'.
"The two songs if their ready can be performed for the next single after this one," Ukai announced, the room buzzing with excitement.
"But we have to keep it a secret until we're ready to drop the announcement," he added with a stern look, reminding them of the competitive nature of the industry.
The members of Karasuno nodded solemnly, their excitement tempered by the gravity of the task ahead. They knew that the success of these songs could mean the difference between being seen as a one-hit-wonder and establishing themselves as a formidable group in the idol world.

As they finished recording 'Backstreet Love', the energy in the studio was electric. The group gathered around the sound booth, listening to the final mix with bated breath. The beat was catchy, the vocals were on point, and the harmonies were nothing short of magical.
"That's it," Ukai announced, his eyes gleaming with satisfaction. "You guys have done it."
"Not just that me and the editor have been hard at work and we have the tracks ready for 'My Sweet Hatchling' and 'Wings of Resilience'. We'll start working on the choreography, music videos and recordings for those soon," the sound engineer announced, his enthusiasm infectious.
The group's excitement grew as they discussed potential concepts for the music videos, throwing around ideas that highlighted the emotional depth of their original songs. They knew that the visual aspect of their work was just as important as the music itself in the world of idols.
The director listened attentively, scribbling down notes as they spoke. "For the music videos I think we should focus on the themes of dreams and friendship for 'My Sweet Hatchling'," he said, tapping his pen against the paper. "We want to make sure the fans feel that connection to the music. While with "Wings of Resilience' it should be more about overcoming challenges and finding strength together."
"But before any of that you need to do the live tour for 'backstreet love'. Then we'll work on the other two," Ukai said, his voice firm yet encouraging.
"You heard him Karasuno! Hands in," Daichi exclaimed, his eyes alight with excitement. The group huddled together, their hands interlocked as they shouted in unison, "Karasuno fly!"

The night before the performances they sat reading the comments.
"Looks like you're music video debut was a success Shouyou! The people are loving your energy!" Asahi exclaimed, scrolling through the comments section on their latest post.
Hinata couldn't help but blush as he read through the comments praising his performance. "Thanks to everyone's hard work," he said modestly, looking around at his group members.
Chapter 5: Shouyou's First Live
Chapter Text
The next day, they arrived at the venue for their live performance of 'Backstreet Love'. The stage was a flurry of activity, with techs and staff rushing about, setting up lights and sound. The anticipation grew as they went through their final rehearsals, each movement and note perfectly in sync.
"Two hours till showtime! Karasuno report for make-up and costumes," the production assistant called out, her voice echoing through the hallways of the venue. The group hurried to their designated area, their stomachs fluttering with a mix of excitement and nerves.
"You nervous Shouyou. Your first live performance is a big deal," Tanaka said, slapping him on the back as the made their way backstage for make-up and costumes.
Hinata nodded, his palms sweaty. "Yeah, but I'm also really excited. Can't wait to perform 'Backstreet Love' in front of an actual audience."
The time flew by as they went through hair, make-up, and costume changes. After they were escorted to an elevator lift, lit by torches.
"Shouyou, just know it's okay if you mess up just play it natural and fall back with the rest of us," Daichi whispered to him.
"And make sure to breathe out when they lift the elevator and jump out. You're going to need it," Kageyama advised.
"Good day Tokyo!!! Are you ready to feel the love?" The emcee's voice boomed through the stadium, sending waves of excitement rippling through the screaming fans. Karasuno took their places, their hearts racing as they waited for their cue. The lights dimmed, the opening bars of 'Backstreet Love' began to play, and the elevator platform shot upwards, revealing the twelve of them to the world.
As they burst out into the choreography, the crowd went wild. The music thumped in his chests, the lights flashed in his eyes, and the roar of the fans filled his ears. The adrenaline rush was unlike anything Hinata had ever experienced. He felt alive, every cell in his body vibrating with the energy of the music.
The dance moves flowed naturally, a product of their endless rehearsals. He glanced over at his friends, their smiles beaming brighter than the stage lights. They were all in sync, a well-oiled machine of rhythm and passion. As they hit the chorus, the crowd's voices joined theirs, a harmony of love and support that washed over them like a warm wave.
For Shouyou, it was like a dream come true. The bright lights, the roar of the audience, the thrill of performing—it was everything he had ever imagined and more. His heart swelled with gratitude as he took in the sight of the fans' waving penlights, creating a sea of color that stretched out into the horizon of the stadium.
As they moved through their setlist, each member of Karasuno brought their A-game, feeding off the energy of the crowd and each other. The live performance was a hit, with the fans chanting their names and singing along to every word. The applause and cheers grew louder with each song, and it was clear that their hard work had paid off.
The grand finale approached, and as they launched into 'Backstreet Love', one last time, the stadium was alight with the vibrant glow of thousands of penlights waving in unison. The crowd's energy was tangible, feeding into every step and note, pushing Karasuno to give their all. As the song reached its climax, the confetti rained down, mixing with the sweat and smiles of the performers. The applause was deafening, a thunderous symphony that resonated through their very bones.
"Alright, alright quiet down our sweet crows!" Sugawara called to the fans, a wide smile stretching across his face.
"So did you all love our new single?" Sugawara asked the screaming fans, holding his mic out to capture their response. The deafening cheer was all the answer he needed.
"I think they like it Suga, but what I want to know is do you all think Shouyou did amazing for his debut live?" Asahi said, his voice barely heard over the din of the celebrating crowd.
"He killed it!" Ennoshita exclaimed, slapping him on the back so hard that he almost stumbled.
"You guys were all so awesome," Shouyou said, his voice hoarse from singing. "You the fans are what truly made it spectacular."
The crowd's roared even louder at Shouyou's humble words, their adoration unwavering. As the confetti settled, the members of Karasuno shared a moment of pure elation, their eyes sparkling with joy and disbelief.
"Thank-you Tokyo! We love you!" Shouyou's voice echoed through the stadium as the lights dimmed out. The members of Karasuno took their final bow, their hearts racing from the exhilaration of the successful live performance. The crowd's cheers still lingered in their ears as they made their way backstage, each step feeling lighter than the last.
"That was amazing!" Shouyou exclaimed, happily after the crew Removed their mics. He couldn't wipe the grin off his face as they walked off the stage, the echoes of the crowd's applause still ringing in his ears. His first live performance was a rush of excitement and nerves that had turned into pure euphoria as the music filled the stadium.
"Haha welcome to the world of idol stardom Shouyou!" Kinoshita laughed, slapping him on the back as they all collapsed onto the couches backstage. They were all tired but buzzing with excitement.
"How do you feel after your first live?" Daichi asked, a knowing smile on his face.
"It's...amazing," Shouyou breathed, still trying to wrap his head around the experience. "It's like nothing I've ever felt before."
Daichi chuckled. "You get used to it. Just wait until we start touring."
And tour they did. After a whirlwind of successful live performances for 'Backstreet Love', at the end of the tour, Ukai called a meeting in the HQ entertainment boardroom. The tension was palpable as the members of Karasuno took their seats, wondering what could happening.
Chapter 6: A New Tour like never before.
Chapter Text
"First off. Amazing job with the 'Backstreet love tour!'" Ukai began, his voice resonating through the boardroom. The members of Karasuno leaned in, anticipation in their eyes.
"But unfortunately no time to rest. The big bosses have something even bigger planned," Ukai said, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "They've decided that all the HQ idol groups will embark on the 'Ultimate Idol World Tour'!"
"Ultimate Idol World Tour? What do you mean?" Asahi's voice broke the stunned silence that had settled over the group.
"It's a mega-tour," Ukai explained, his eyes alight with excitement. "All the HQ idol groups—Nekoma, Fukurodani, Shiratorizawa, Aoba Johsai, Itachiyama, Inarizaki, and of course, Karasuno—will be going on tour together. Each group will perform a selection of their own songs, and there will be special collaboration song between the groups. Think of it as a traveling festival of idol music!"
"We have to travel with Oikawa? You know he is always an ass to Kageyama! For no reason!" Nishinoya complained, his arms crossed over his chest.
"Relax. I've spoken with Aoba Johsai's female manager and she's promised me that he will keep Oikawa in check," Ukai said, a hint of amusement in his voice. "This is an opportunity of a lifetime for all of us. We're going to perform alongside our rivals and show the world what HQ entertainment is all about."
"Omg! Omg! This is big! No other idol company has ever done anything like this!" Shouyou's eyes grew wide with excitement. "And i know that from my vast childhood knowledge of idol tours," he added with a proud smirk.
"Exactly ginger. The bosses have been planning this for a while. This is going to be the biggest event in HQ's and idol history." Ukai's voice grew serious. "But we're not just doing this for fun and games. This tour is going to be a competition. Each group will perform their best songs, and there will be special collaborations. You will be representing HQ Entertainment and we want you to show everyone what we're made of."
"One other thing," Takeda their choreographer joined in, "We're adding 'My Sweet Hatchling' and 'Wings of Resilience' to the setlist."
The room buzzed with excitement as the members of Karasuno exchanged glances, realizing the gravity of this opportunity.
"And," Takeda added, silencing everyone, "the bosses want to create an 'idol diaries' vlog where we'll share behind-the-scenes moments from the tour. Practice, travelling, hanging out. It'll be like a reality show, but online."
"Question! Do we get to do the filming? Or will there be a separate team?" Tanaka asked, his curiosity piqued.
"You'll be filming yourselves. It's part of the authenticity," Ukai said formally. "You'll be documenting your experiences, the good and the bad, but remember, keep it clean. You're representing the company."
"Will we travel together as groups or can we mix and mingle with other groups?" Tsukishima asked, his curiosity getting the better of him.
"It's going to be a mix of both. You'll have your own buses for road travels, but on the plane as long as you behave yourselves, you can sit with members of other groups," Ukai replied, his tone hinting at the potential drama that could unfold.
"How long will the tour be? And where will we go?" Ennoshita's voice was filled with excitement and a hint of trepidation.
"It'll span over five months, covering Japan, America, London, Scotland and Australia," Ukai revealed, a world map behind him highlighting their tour stops. The room filled with gasps and murmurs at the sheer magnitude of the tour.
"But we're not just going to be performing," Ukai continued, raising a hand to silence the buzz of excitement. "We'll be participating in workshops surprising fans and even participating in local charity events. It's not all glamour and lights."
The group nodded in understanding, the weight of their new responsibilities settling on their shoulders.
"But don't worry," Ukai said, noticing their solemn expressions. "You're not just entertainers; you're ambassadors for HQ. This is your chance to showcase not just your talents, but your hearts. The tour leaves in a month."
"One last question. So we know two songs for our setlist, but how many songs are we allowed to perform?" Sugawara inquired, eager to showcase their group's versatility.
"You'll each be performing five songs, and the one collaboration," Ukai said. "You will choose the other three songs for your setlist. But make sure they flow. The collaboration is being written by the top composers in the company, so expect something epic. I believe Takeda you told me they start learning it tomorrow with the other Groups ..?"
"Yes, that's right," Takeda confirmed with a nod. "The collaboration song will be the opening act for each concert. It's called 'United Melody'. It's a mix of all the group's unique sounds and themes. You'll need to be prepared to perform it with the other groups from day one of the tour."
The Karasuno members exchanged looks of excitement and nervousness. The thought of sharing the stage with their rivals was both thrilling and intimidating.
"So dreams, friendship and growing up are the themes for those two songs. Which of our other songs would go well with those?" Yamaguchi mused, stroking his chin.
"How about 'Sky High'? It's about chasing after your goals, which aligns with the tour's message," Tanaka suggested, leaning forward with a spark in his eyes.
"And 'Breakthrough' for the fourth song," Asahi added. "It's got that energetic vibe that'll get the crowd pumped."
"I like that," Kageyama murmured, nodding thoughtfully. "It symbolizes overcoming challenges, which is a universal theme."
"And for the fifth song, how about 'Sunshine Serenade'?" Sugawara suggested, his eyes gleaming. "It's cheerful and upbeat, a perfect way to end our setlist."
"Perfect the five songs for Karasuno will be 'My Sweet Hatchling', 'Wings of Resilience', 'Sky High', 'Breakthrough' and 'Sunshine Serenade'. We'll also need to work on our collaboration with the other groups," Ukai said, his eyes scanning the group. "Remember, this is not just about performing, it's about unity and friendship. Now, let's get to work."
The members of Karasuno nodded, their spirits high despite the daunting tasks ahead. They knew this was their chance to make a real impact on the idol world, to show everyone what they were truly made of. They had one month to prepare for the tour, and not a moment could be wasted.
"Alright rest up tonight, tomorrow we're hitting the practice room hard," Ukai said, dismissing the group. "You're going to need to be in top form for the 'United Melody' rehearsals and your solo setlist. Remember, we want to make sure Karasuno's name shines brightest!"
On the elevator ride up to the dorms, Shouyou's thumbs danced across his phone screen.
"What are you doing Shouyou?" Daichi asked, noticing his frantic typing.
"Texting Bokuto," Shouyou replied without looking up. "I can't believe we're going on tour together! He's my best friend, and the only one in can talk to about it at the moment."
Daichi chuckled, understanding the excitement of sharing such news with a close friend. "Make sure to save some energy for the collaboration rehearsal tomorrow," he teased.
"You know i will Daichi!" Shouyou said, his smile never fading even as he pocketed his phone.
The elevator stopped at Karasuno's floor, and the members stepped out, their excitement barely contained. They knew the challenges ahead but were ready to tackle them head-on.
"Alright Karasuno remember Ukai's orders rest up! Get a good meal in you and hit the sack early. Big day tomorrow," Daichi called out.
"I'll make dinner who's helping?!" Narita shouted over the din of excitement, already moving towards the kitchen.
"I'll help!" Tsukishima and Ennoshita chorused, eager to contribute to the pre-tour celebration.
The night was filled with laughter and camaraderie as they cooked a feast fit for kings. The aroma of sizzling meat and steaming rice filled the air, mingling with the sound of clanging pans and the occasional off-key singing. Despite their exhaustion, the thought of the upcoming adventure reinvigorated them.
"So, what do you guys think the collaboration song will be like?" Ennoshita asked, flipping a pancake with surprising skill.
"Probably something cheesy and over-the-top," Kinoshita quipped, earning a glare from Sugawara.
"What am I lying?" Kinoshita said with a cheeky smile. "But hey, if it's going to be the opening act, we gotta bring it, right?"
"No doubt," Ennoshita agreed. "But we'll show 'em how it's done. Our friendship and chemistry will shine through."
After dinner, the Karasuno members settled into their dorm rooms, their excitement for the tour slowly giving way to exhaustion. Each one knew that a good night's rest was crucial for the intense rehearsal schedule that awaited them the following day. The lights dimmed, the chatter died down, and the floor grew quiet as everyone prepared for bed.
In his room, Shouyou lay awake for a moment, his mind racing with thoughts of the upcoming tour. He couldn't wait to see the world with his friends and perform their hearts out on the grandest of stages.
Eventually, his eyelids grew heavy, and he drifted off to sleep, his dreams filled with the cheers of adoring fans and the camaraderie of his fellow idols. His body was weary, but his spirit was soaring.
Chapter 7: Collaboration Practice
Chapter Text
Shouyou woke up to the sound of his alarm blaring, his mind still swimming in a sea of vivid tour dreams. He jumped out of bed, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness for the day ahead. Today was the first day of collaborative practice for 'United Melody'. He quickly got dressed and headed to the common area where the other members were already gathered, looking equally eager and apprehensive.
"Morning Shouyou! Have a light breakfast it's going to be a long day!" Daichi called out as he saw him enter the dining area.
Shouyou nodded, grabbing a banana and a protein shake. He knew that energy would be crucial for the intense practice sessions ahead.
As they arrived at the HQ practice studio, the Karasuno members found themselves surrounded by an air of anticipation. The stage was set up with microphones and speakers, and the walls were adorned with posters of past successful tours and collaborations. The choreographers and songwriters, all industry veterans, greeted them with warm smiles and a sense of urgency. They were led to a row of chairs at the side of the stage and instructed to wait for the other groups to arrive.
Shouyou's stomach fluttered with nerves as he sat down, his eyes darting around the room. He had watched these very choreographers work their magic on countless idol groups, and now he was about to work alongside them. The thought was both exhilarating and terrifying.
The doors to the studio swung open, and in walked the members of Nekoma, looking sharp and focused.
"Kuroo, nice to see you, Karasuno looks forward to this collaboration and tour." Daichi called out, trying to break the tension in the room.
Kuroo smirked and waved back. "Yeah, it's going to be quite the showdown, isn't it?"
"Congratulations on 'Backstreet love' both the song and mini tour looked like it was a smash hit!" Yaku said with a smile as he took a seat.
"Thanks Yaku!" Sugawara replied with a grin, his eyes lighting up at the mention of their recent success.
Moments later, the doors swung open again, revealing the towering figures of Fukurodani's members. Bokuto strode in with his usual flair, a broad smile lighting up his face as he spotted Shouyou.
Hey hey! Hinata hey!" Bokuto's booming voice echoed through the studio, his eyes locking onto Shouyou's. The two friends exchanged a look filled with both excitement and a hint of competitive spirit. "Can you believe it our groups are going on tour together?"
Shouyou's heart swelled with joy as he watched Bokuto make his way over, the other members of Fukurodani trailing behind him. "It's like a dream come true!" he exclaimed, standing up to give Bokuto a firm pat on the back. "But I'm not just here to enjoy the ride, I'm here to catch up to you!"
"Hahaha. Of course, you are, Shouyou," Bokuto laughed heartily, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
"You know Karasuno's newest member Bokuto?" Kuroo leaned in, his eyes gleaming with curiosity.
Kenma, who had been quietly scrolling through his phone, sighed heavily. "You really don't check your media much, do you Kuroo?" He looked up, raising an eyebrow at the Nekoma leader. "They've been friends since they were little. It was in Shouyou's introductory video that Karasuno posted."
Kuroo's eyes widened in realization. "Oh, right. I must have missed that." He leaned back in his chair, watching the exchange between Shouyou and Bokuto with newfound interest. "So, you two go way back, huh?"
Shouyou nodded, his cheeks flushing slightly. "Yeah, we used to watch idol concerts together all the time and dance in the living room."
"Oooh then you must have some embarrassing stories about owl boy here?" Kuroo teased, nudging Bokuto playfully.
"Shouyou meet Kuroo leader of Nekoma. He was my first friend from another idol group after i debuted," Bokuto said, a gentle warmth in his voice.
"Nice to meet you Kuroo, and yes I have lots of embarrassing stories about Bokuto," Shouyou said, his grin widening.
"Save them for the tour Shouyou. Maybe we could do a segment talking about embarrassing childhood moments in the vlog," Bokuto suggested with a wink, as he took his place in the row of chairs next to Kuroo.
The members of the other groups began to arrive, filling the studio with an electrifying buzz. The air was thick with both excitement and tension, as the young idols sized each other up and whispered among themselves. Shouyou felt his heart racing as he took in the sea of unfamiliar faces, but the sight of Bokuto's encouraging smile helped to calm his nerves.
"Looks like we're only waiting on Aoba Johsai now. Of course it's pretty boy and his team, that arrive last and nearly late." Nishinoya quipped, earning a chuckle from the room.
"I believe i heard Iwaizumi shouting at Oikawa earlier in the buildings cafeteria," Tendou from Shiratorizawa said as he sauntered through the crowded practice studio. His tall frame and distinctive hairstyle made him impossible to miss among the sea of idols.
"Tendou how are you and Shiratorizawa going?" Kuroo called out as the lanky member took a seat, his teammates following suit.
"Ready to rock the world," Tendou called back with a smirk. "Right Ushijima?"
Ushijima nodded curtly, his stoic expression not betraying the slightest hint of excitement or nerves. The other members of Shiratorizawa took their seats, and soon the room was a cacophony of greetings and friendly banter.
"Ok it's petty but I can't help myself. But five bucks says Oikawa makes an over the top grand entrance," Bokuto says aloud, a glint in his eye.
"Deal!" Kuroo, Tendou, and Daichi called out in unison, the room now filled with a light-hearted energy as they waited for the final group's arrival. The anticipation grew palpable as the doors to the studio swung open once again, revealing Aoba Johsai's members, with Oikawa in the lead.
As expected, Oikawa's entrance was dramatic, complete with a flourish of his jacket and a flash of a smile that seemed to light up the room. "Sorry we're late, everyone. Did we miss the party?" he quipped, earning a collective eye roll from the other groups. Despite the theatrics, there was an undeniable charm to his confidence.
"Called it!" Bokuto exclaimed with a laugh, slapping his knee as Oikawa sauntered in, his teammates following closely behind.
"You know me too well, Bokuto," Oikawa replied with a wink, taking his seat with a flourish.
The choreographers and songwriters took center stage, clapping their hands to get everyone's attention. "Alright, everyone, let's get started!" The room fell silent as they began to explain the concept of 'United Melody'. The song was about unity and friendship, a celebration of the diverse talents that each group brought to the table.
"Collaboration practices for the tour will take place every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday," the lead choreographer announced, her voice echoing through the vast space of the HQ practice studio. "Thursday and Tuesday will be individual setlists and Saturday's will vary between media work, photoshoots, and merchandise planning."
"Merchandise planning? Doesn't the staff usually handle that?" Oikawa spoke up, a hint of skepticism in his voice.
"They want your opinion if you have any unique ideas for merchandise," Ukai clarified, his eyes scanning the room. "It's a chance for you to connect with your fans on a deeper level, beyond just the music and performances."
"I have one! Over the years growing up even to this day, I've seen fans say they'd love blanket merchandise. Even if it's only a throw blanket. Many fans have to DIY it because no official ones are available," Shouyou spoke up, eager to contribute.
"That's a fantastic idea, Shouyou. We'll definitely consider it," Ukai said with a nod, making a note. "But remember, this is just one part of what we're preparing for. The collaboration practices are essential to get the routine down pat."
"Sir yes sir!" Shouyou exclaimed, pumped by his idea being recognized.
"Wow your a spirited one aren't you?" Oikawa quipped at Shouyou's enthusiasm.
"Oikawa... behave remember i'm watching you. I've been directly Asked by the higher ups to keep an eye on your interactions with the other groups" Aoba Johsai's female manager scolded him from the sidelines.
"I only complemented him. I wasn't being mean," Oikawa replied with an innocent smile that didn't fool anyone.
"Mhm. Let's start practice!" The choreographer's voice boomed through the speakers, interrupting the idle chatter.
The groups dispersed into smaller groups as they were handed sheets of music with 'United Melody' printed neatly across the top. Shouyou found himself standing alongside Bokuto, their eyes scanning the unfamiliar notes.
"You nervous?" Bokuto whispered, his usual boisterousness tempered by the gravity of the situation.
"A little," Shouyou admitted, his voice barely audible over the shuffling of papers and murmurs of the other idols. "But I'm mostly just excited to be here."
Bokuto clapped him on the back. "That's the spirit! We've got this."
"Alright I'm going to group everyone into pairs for the opening routine," the choreographer announced, her eyes scanning the room. "This routine requires a lot of trust and synchronization, so pick your partner wisely. Try and expand your comfort and pick someone from another group."
The room buzzed with whispers as the idols exchanged glances, weighing their options. Shouyou took a deep breath, his gaze landing on Bokuto. "You wanna be partners?" he called out, a hopeful smile playing on his lips.
"I was about to say the company does want to use your childhood friendship as part of the performance and promotional material," Ukai said with a knowing smile. "But it seems like fate has already decided. Oikawa, Iwaizumi they want to use your childhood friendship backstory as well."
Oikawa's eyes narrowed at Ukai's words, but he nodded curtly, accepting the challenge. Iwaizumi looked less than thrilled, his arms crossed over his chest as he glared at Ukai.
"Alright, let's get started!" The choreographer called out, her voice cutting through the tension. She began pairing off the idols, with an eye for balance and chemistry.
Shouyou and Bokuto stepped forward, their hearts racing as they took their places on the stage. The opening routine was fast-paced, demanding precise movements and perfect harmony. They had watched each other perform countless times, but this was different. This time, they would be sharing the spotlight, their friendship serving as the foundation for their unity.
"Remember, the key to this routine is trust," the choreographer instructed. "You'll be performing lifts and intricate formations. Make sure you communicate with each other."
The groups paired off, and Shouyou found himself face to face with Oikawa, who was partnered with Iwaizumi. Oikawa flashed him a grin, the kind that could either be friendly or a challenge. "Looks like we're going to be showing everyone what real friendship looks like," he said, his voice dripping with a mix of confidence and playfulness.
"Yep sure are, but just know, if you cause any shit on tour, and pick on Kageyama or anyone in my group, I'll film it, and out you for the egotistical ass you are." Shouyou's voice was light but there was a seriousness in his eyes that had even Bokuto raising a brow.
Oikawa's smile faltered slightly, taken aback by Shouyou's unexpected response. But before he could reply, the choreographer called for everyone's attention. "Let's start with the opening formation!"
The music began to play, and the idols fell into place. The routine was complex, requiring split-second timing and absolute trust. Shouyou's nerves were on edge as he and Bokuto began the lift that would set the tone for their friendship-themed performance. They executed it flawlessly, freezing in place as the choreographer instructed.
As the days turned into weeks, the collaborative practices grew more intense. Each group brought their own style and flair to the 'United Melody' routine, and the competition grew fierce as they all strived to outdo each other. Yet, amidst the rivalry, a camaraderie began to form, with members sharing tips and encouragement.
Shouyou and Bokuto's friendship grew stronger as they worked through the challenging routine. They discovered new depths to their trust and support for one another, which only enhanced their performance. The other idols took notice of their bond, and soon enough, the pair became the heart of the collaboration, setting the bar for the rest to follow.
"You guys are nailing it!" Kuroo exclaimed after one particularly impressive run-through on a Friday. "Your friendship is so genuine, it's going to be amazing on stage."
Shouyou beamed with pride, feeling the weight of their hard work paying off. "Thanks, Kuroo. It's all because of Bokuto. He's the best partner I could ask for," he said, looking over at his friend.
"Alright everyone! Good practice! Tomorrow meet back here with the marketing team for the first brainstorming session for the tour's merchandise," Ukai called out, breaking the intense focus of the room.
The idols dispersed, some heading for the showers, others to grab a quick snack before heading home to their level. Shouyou felt a sense of accomplishment as he packed up his bag. "Bokuto, thanks for being a great partner," he said, his voice filled with sincerity.
"You too, Shou," Bokuto replied, his own bag slung over his shoulder. "This is going to be the best tour ever."
"Bokuto-san, are you ready to go?" Akaashi called out, peeking his head into the dressing room where Bokuto was still changing.
"Almost," Bokuto called back, his voice muffled by the fabric of his shirt. "Just one more button."
"And...done! Later Shouyou see you tomorrow! Let's go Akaashi!" Bokuto emerged from the dressing room, his energy undiminished by the long practice session.
"Bye Bokuto! Can't wait to see what we come up with for merch tomorrow!" Shouyou waved, his eyes alight with excitement.
"Hinata let's go!" Kageyama called out from the doorway, snapping Shouyou out of his thoughts. The Karasuno members filed out of the practice studio, their conversations a mix of excitement and exhaustion.
"How do you think it's going to be like living together on tour?" Sugawara asked as they walked down the hallway, the sound of their footsteps echoing in the emptiness.
"It's going to be a blast," Nishinoya said, his eyes lighting up at the thought. "Imagine the pranks we can pull on each other!"
"Pranks?" Kageyama looked horrified. "I'm not sure that's the best way to keep our focus."
"What about board games or card games? Each person could bring their favorite, and we can play them together once in every city," Shouyou suggested as they approached the elevator.
Daichi chuckled. "You guys really are thinking ahead. I've got a couple of travel-sized games that are perfect for killing time on the bus."
"How about cards against humanity or uno?" Tsukishima suggested, a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Cards against humanity no. Uno yes. We're idols, Tsukishima." Daichi said with a laugh as they piled into the elevator.
"But we're also humans," Tsukishima shot back, his voice playful.
"Humans with a professional image to uphold," Kageyama reminded him, though his own expression softened into a smile.
"I have Uno no mercy in my room!" Shouyou exclaimed, his voice bubbling with excitement. "I'll bring that along!"
"I have a mystery murder game!" Sugawara said, his eyes sparkling with excitement as the elevator doors closed. "It's like Clue, but with more twists and turns. We could play it on the bus or during down time."
"I'll text the other leaders the board game bonding idea, and have them spread the word," Daichi said, pulling out his phone as the elevator ascended to their floor. "It'll be a great way to keep our spirits high and keep the competition friendly."
Shouyou nodded, feeling the excitement of the tour slowly begin to overtake his initial nerves. The thought of traveling the world, performing alongside his friends and sharing his love for music with thousands of fans was a dream come true.
Chapter 8: Marketing, and Merchandise ideas
Summary:
Our idol boys brain storm merch ideas for their fans
Chapter Text
The next day, the groups gathered in a conference room at HQ, surrounded by whiteboards and flipcharts when Karasuno arrived. The room was already buzzing with ideas and chatter. Each group had brought their own unique concepts to the table, eager to make their mark on the tour's merchandise.
"Good morning! Welcome to the first 'Ultimate Idol World Tour' merchandise brainstorm," the marketing and schedule manager announced, her voice carrying an infectious enthusiasm. "Today, we'll be discussing ideas for tour-exclusive items that will showcase each group's personality and strengthen the bond with your fans."
"So far we have Hinata-san's blanket idea, and I've seen some amazing sketches for keychains and phone cases," she began, gesturing to the board. "But let's not limit ourselves to the usual suspects. What unique items can we create that fans will go crazy for?"
"Oh, oh how about playing cards, but with us idols as the face cards?" Tsukishima suggested, raising his hand. "We could even have special abilities, like a 'trump card' with a special dance move on it."
"Interesting," the marketing and schedule manager said, scribbling notes on her pad. "It's definitely something we can explore."
"How about cook book with all the idols favourite recipes?" Tendou spoke up, a hopeful look on his face. "It could show fans a more personal side of us."
"Not a bad idea," Kuroo mused, stroking his chin. "But we've got to make sure it's not just recipes from our moms. We want to show some of our own culinary genius."
"I could share my recipe for my crumb-coated deep fryed mac'n' cheese Balls," Shouyou chimed in.
Everyone's heads snapped towards him, eyes wide. "Crumb-coated deep fried mac'n' cheese balls?" Oikawa echoed, his voice a mix of disbelief and intrigue.
"Omg! I remember them! They are soo good! They went even better with my neapolitan cheese cake it has a layer of strawberry, vanilla and chocolate coated in caramel sauce." Bokuto's eyes glazed over in nostalgia at the mention of Shouyou's cooking.
The room erupted in laughter and agreement, the atmosphere lightening. "Alright, let's put that down as a high potential," the marketing and schedule manager said with a grin. "What else do we have?"
"What about blind box figures of each the groups? Like, you don't know which one you're getting until you open it," Daichi suggested, leaning back in his chair.
"Oooh, that's a classic," the marketing and schedule manager nodded, scribbling away. "But let's think outside the box, literally. What about something functional yet fun?"
"Fans would love this one. A behind the scenes photo book of us practicing for the tour. Imagine us all sweaty and smiling. They would eat that up," Atsumu suggested, his eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Yes! Atsumu's idea is perfect," Oikawa exclaimed, his hands coming together in a dramatic clap. "Also how about a polaroid camera that comes with each group's design on it?"
"Wait, wait, wait," Sugawara interjected, raising his hand. "What if we make it so that the film has a special design for each group, so fans can take pictures at the venues and create their own tour album?"
The marketing and schedule manager's eyes lit up. "Brilliant! We can even include special stickers for them to decorate their photos. That adds an interactive element to the merchandise."
"Plushies of all of us! With changeable clothes! So fans can dress us up for different occasions," Nishinoya exclaimed, bouncing in his seat.
"Not bad," Ukai said, stroking his chin thoughtfully as he surveyed the board. "But we need something that really captures the essence of our friendship and unity. Something that represents the heart of 'United Melody'."
"Maybe a heart shaped led light stick. With each group's emblem?" Shouyou suggested, his eyes sparkling with excitement. "When we perform 'United Melody', fans can hold them up and make it look like we're all connected by a sea of light."
The room grew quiet as the idea took root, idols nodding in agreement. The marketing and schedule manager jotted it down, a smile spreading across her face. "I like it. Simple yet powerful. Let's add that to the list."
"We can make it change colour to each group's colour theme! Like orange for Karasuno, red for Nekoma, teal for Aoba Johsai, and so on," Kenma pipped in, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
The marketing and schedule manager nodded, scribbling more notes. "Great, we'll work on a prototype."
"A calendar, And make it so they can use each picture as a poster once the year ends," Sakusa added to the mix, his voice calm and measured, yet filled with enthusiasm.
"Oh, that's clever," the marketing and schedule manager said, scribbling more notes. "A dual-purpose item that keeps giving long after the tour is over."
"What if each team got a chibi animal mascot and we could use it in the concert to share announcements and intro's. We could make merchandise of them too." Bokuto spoke up, his eyes gleaming with excitement.
"That's a cute idea!" The marketing and schedule manager nodded, scribbling it down. "Let's think about what animal represents each group the best."
"Crows for Karasuno. We literally call our fans our sweet crows," Nishinoya spoke up with a cheeky smile.
"Cats for Nekoma maybe? I mean Neko is in our name," Kuroo suggested with a smirk, his eyes glinting with mischief.
"How about a weasel for Itachiyama?" Sakusa suggested.
"We call our fans our kits, so maybe A fox for Inarizaki?" Kita, Inarizaki's leader, proposed with a shy smile.
"What about a majestic chibi eagle for Shiratorizawa?" Ushijima suggested, his voice deep and commanding. "Our fans are always soaring with us."
An owl for Fukurodani!" Bokuto exclaimed, his enthusiasm contagious. The room burst into laughter.
"Aoba Johsai what about you any idea's?" the marketing and schedule manager turned to Oikawa.
Oikawa leaned back in his chair, his eyes sparkling with mischief. "How about a tree Pixie or spirit?"
"A tree pixie?" Iwaizumi looked at him skeptically.
"Yeah, because we're all about growing and reaching new heights," Oikawa said with a cheeky smile.
Iwaizumi rolled his eyes, but a hint of amusement played at the corners of his mouth. "Fine, but make sure it's not too...whimsical."
The room erupted in laughter, the tension of the momentarily forgotten. The marketing and schedule manager chuckled, scribbling away. "We promise not too whimsical," she said, her tone playful. "Now, let's not forget about the clothing line. We need tour-specific T-shirts, hoodies, and hats. Maybe even some accessories like bracelets or necklaces."
Yamaguchi raised his hand. "What if we had a charity aspect to the merch? Like, a percentage of the sales go towards a charity to go towards kids cancer or lgbtq+ youth support."
The room went quiet, the gravity of his suggestion sobering the atmosphere. The marketing manager nodded thoughtfully. "That's a wonderful idea, Yamaguchi. We'll definitely consider that." The marketing and schedule responded.
The discussion grew more focused, the idols sharing their visions for the merchandise that would represent their unity and friendship. It was clear that this tour was about more than just competition; it was about creating memories and giving back to their fans.
Now let's talk about the tour bus design. It's going to be your home on wheels, so we want it to reflect all of your personalities. Any ideas?" The marketing and schedule manager questioned.
"How about a giant mural of us all doing the 'United Melody' pose on the side?" Akaashi suggested, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
The other groups murmured their agreement, and the marketing and schedule manager nodded thoughtfully. "We can definitely work with that," she said, scribbling down notes. "Each group could have their own section, showcasing their individuality within the group."
"Question! How will we move the bus between countries on this world tour? I mean won't we be catching planes?" Shouyou curiously asked.
The marketing and schedule manager laughed, "Good point, Shouyou. We'll be using a fleet of custom-designed tour buses for land travel, but for international legs, we'll have chartered flights. But the bus will be moved via cargo planes and shipped across the seas. Now, let's focus on the bus design. Now a few more bus design ideas please?"
"How about a giant vinyl sticker of our group logo on the back, so when we leave a place, fans can see it from afar and get excited?" Lev offered, his eyes gleaming with the thought of the excitement it would stir.
"And we could have a different theme for each bus, like a color scheme that matches our group's concept," Asahi added, his creative juices clearly flowing.
"Change of topic for a second.I just thought of another clothing idea. What about kimono's with our group emblems?" Makki spoke up, his voice filled with excitement. "It's a traditional twist on the usual tour merch."
"That's actually a brilliant idea," Ukai said, his eyes lighting up. "It's a great way to incorporate our culture into the tour and stand out in the international market."
"What if we wore the kimono's and had that on the side of the bus," Mattsun suggested, a smirk playing on his lips. The room broke out in laughter as they pictured the outrageous image.
The marketing and schedule manager laughed along. "We'll keep that in mind," she said, her eyes sparkling. "Now, let's talk about the tour vlogs. Each group will be expected to post regular updates to keep fans engaged. Any creative ideas for content?"
"Me, Shouyou and Bokuto thought embarrassing childhood stories would be funny," Kuroo suggested, his voice filled with mischief. The room burst out in laughter, imagining the potential content goldmine.
"But let's not forget the serious stuff too," Ukai reminded them. "We want to show fans the hard work and dedication we put into this. Maybe some rehearsal footage, or the moments leading up to a big performance."
"How about we do a cooking challenge?" Semi suggested, his eyes glinting with excitement. "Each group has to cook a meal from their hometown. It'll show our unity and our love for food."
"But we're terrible cooks," Kageyama muttered under his breath, earning a playful nudge from Tsukishima.
"A game night vlog of us playing board games and card games! Karasuno was discussing bringing some on tour to bond with each other," Sugawara added, his eyes lighting up with excitement.
"That's a great idea," the marketing and schedule manager said, scribbling furiously. "It's important to show fans the real you guys. They love the music, but they also want to connect with you on a personal level."
"How about everyday routines? Like taking the camera in waking people up and making breakfast and such," Kunimi suggested, his voice filled with cheerful energy.
"Ah, reality show style," Ukai nodded thoughtfully. "It'd give fans a glimpse into our lives on the road. But we need to make sure it's entertaining too."
"A prank war!" Tanaka's voice boomed over the chatter. "We could record the best ones and post them on our vlogs! We can secretly premeditate them with each other, and make sure people are comfortable. And fake our reactions."
The room lit up with excitement at the thought, the competitive spirits of the idols coming alive. "But let's keep it safe and clean," Ukai reminded them firmly. "We don't want any accidents or to damage our reputation."
"That's why I said premeditated. So we can check the idea with the media managers, and those involved before we execute," Tanaka said, his grin never faltering.
"Um.. not sure if this sounds dumb what if we visit sick fans in hospital as we tour?" Shouyou suggested tentatively, his voice soft yet earnest. The room fell silent, the gravity of his proposal palpable. "I've always seen videos of sick fans crying or sad cause their stuck in hospital and can't come to idol concerts."
The marketing and schedule manager looked up from her notes, a smile growing on her face. "That's not dumb at all, Shouyou. That's incredibly thoughtful. We can definitely organize hospital visits. It'll be a heartwarming addition to your vlogs, and a wonderful way to connect with your fans on a deeper level."
The other idols nodded in agreement, some looking moved by Shouyou's idea. "But we'll need to be mindful of the patients' conditions and the hospital's rules," she added, bringing a sense of responsibility to the room. "We don't want to cause any distress or trouble."
"We could call and ask the hospitals if there okay with it in advance, And book in dates and times. Maybe even bring some merch as gifts," Motoya suggested. I think Shouyou's idea is great."
"We'd also need to make sure we're not spreading any germs, so hand sanitizer and masks for sure," Sakusa chimed in, his mind racing with the practicalities of the situation.
The marketing and schedule manager nodded, scribbling notes with a renewed sense of purpose. "Excellent point, Sakusa. We'll work with the hospital staff to ensure it's done safely and respectfully."
"How about we have a segment where we learn different languages?" Yaku spoke up, his voice brimming with enthusiasm. "Since we're touring internationally, it could be a fun way to connect with fans from different countries."
"Learning languages?" the marketing and schedule manager repeated, scribbling down the idea. "That could be a fantastic educational aspect to the vlogs. Fans would love to see you guys learning new words and phrases."
"I can do swear words In Portuguese," Shouyou giggled, his cheeks flushing.
"Keep it PG, please," Ukai said, his eyes twinkling with amusement.
"Alright, I'll save the spicy language for our private chats," Shouyou replied with a grin. Everyone in the room giggled, feeling the camaraderie build.
The marketing and schedule manager cleared her throat, bringing the conversation back to the task at hand. "Now, let's talk about the opening act for the tour. What costume do you all think would be the best for 'United Melody'?"
"How about something that combines our group outfits? Like a fusion of our colors and styles," Konoha suggested, looking around the room for agreement.
The marketing and schedule manager nodded thoughtfully. "That could work. Let's get the costume designers in on this. We'll need something that's visually stunning yet comfortable for all the intense dancing you'll be doing."
With that, she made a note to set up meetings with the costume department. "Alright, let's move on to the tour schedule. We've got five months of non-stop travel and performances ahead of us. We've got to make sure everyone's health and well-being is a top priority."
"Question. What if the tour sells out will we extend the tour?" Goshiki asked, his voice filled with excitement at the thought of reaching even more fans.
The marketing and schedule manager looked around the room, her gaze meeting each group's leader. "If the demand is there, we'll definitely consider it," she replied, her voice measured. "But let's not get ahead of ourselves. First, we need to focus on making this tour one to remember."
The conversation turned to the tour's schedule, with the manager laying out the planned cities and venues. The idols leaned in closer, eyes widening as they took in the sheer scale of the 'Ultimate Idol World Tour'. Months of travel, countless performances, and the chance to meet fans from all corners of the globe lay before them.
"We're starting in Japan, of course," she began, pointing at the map. "Then we're heading to America, with stops in New York, Los Angeles, California and Chicago."
"Then we'll head for Europe with stop at London, Paris, Berlin, and Madrid," the marketing and schedule manager continued, her finger tracing the map's path. "Then to Scotland for a show in Edinburgh."
"Then lastly, we're heading down under to Australia," the marketing and schedule manager concluded, her finger lingering over the map of the world. Stopping Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth.
"Wow, we're really going to be everywhere," Shouyou murmured, his eyes wide with excitement. The thought of performing in places he had only dreamed of visiting made his heart race.
"Why aren't we going to Asia? Like China?" Tsukishima asked, breaking the awe-filled silence.
The marketing manager chuckled. "Don't worry, Tsukishima. We're planning on hitting it after Australia. We'll visit Thailand, Korea and Beijing before making our way back to Japan. It's been added at last minute from what you were all last told."
And we're Doing this in five months? That's a lot can't we expand it over like six or seven months so we're not rushing and we can rest a bit? Tsukishima said with a hint of concern in his voice.
"He's right," Ukai agreed, stroking his chin thoughtfully. "We need to extend it spread it out or the boys will collapse from exhaustion."
The marketing and schedule manager's smile faltered slightly, but she nodded in understanding. "I'll pass the suggestion along to the higher-ups. I agree that it's a tight schedule, but we'll make sure there are breaks and rest days built in."
Just then, the door to the conference room swung open, and in strode a stern-faced woman in a sharp business suit. She was known as the Iron Lady of HQ Entertainment, a figure that even the most seasoned idols couldn't help but feel a bit intimidated by.
"I heard Mr Tsukishima and Ukai-san's concerns," she began, her voice firm but not unkind. "No need to pass it along. I think your a fool for trying to cram so much into five months. We're extending the tour to seven months," she declared, her eyes scanning the room, daring anyone to argue. "Do I have to hire a new schedule manager because you don't seem to care about our idols health?"
The room gasped collectively. The Iron Lady's sudden appearance and decisive action took everyone by surprise. The marketing manager's cheeks flushed with embarrassment, but she quickly composed herself. "Understood," she murmured, scribbling furiously on her clipboard.
"You didn't answer my question," the Iron Lady said, her gaze unwavering. "Do you not care about these idols' health, And do i need to replace you?"
The marketing ans schedule manager swallowed, her cheeks flushing deeper. "No, of course, we care about their health. It's just that we wanted to keep the momentum going," she stuttered.
"Momentum won't mean a thing if they're too tired to perform," the Iron Lady retorted, her voice sharp. "We're in the business of creating unforgettable experiences, not burning out our talent. Now, let's get to work on making this tour one that won't just be a blur in their memories. We're adding in rest days, and I want to see a revised schedule on my desk by tomorrow morning. Good luck boys. I know you'll all do amazing." With a curt nod, she turned on her heel and left the room.
The marketing and schedule manager took a deep breath and turned to the idols. "I guess we're extending the tour," she said with a forced smile. "I'll make the new schedule and send it out. Keep practicing the tour leaves in a week, we need to be ready."
"Wait had the public announcement gone out yet? I haven't seen anything about it!" Asahi exclaimed, his eyes wide with surprise.
The marketing and schedule manager's eyes darted to her clipboard. "That and all tickets are due for release tomorrow morning after the Iron Lady approves the final schedule," she said, a hint of nerves in her voice.
The idols nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. The pressure was on, but the excitement of the extended tour outweighed their fears. They knew they had to put their all into this.
"Go have lunch and relax till tomorrow morning, till we get the new schedule." Ukai told everyone with a sigh of relief, the tension in the room dissipating slightly.
The idols slowly filed out, chattering about their upcoming adventure. As they left, the Iron Lady's words echoed in their heads, reminding them of the importance of their health and well-being. They knew the road ahead was going to be challenging, but the promise of more rest days and the chance to perform at their best for their fans was worth it.
In the cafeteria, Karasuno, Fukurodani and Nekoma groups sat together, their conversations filled with excitement and anticipation. "Can you believe we're going to be touring the world together?" Shouyou said, his eyes shining as he looked around the table.
"It's going to be insane," Bokuto replied, his mouth full of food. "But totally worth it."
Everyone nods in agreement, the excitement of the extended tour schedule palpable in the air. They know it's going to be a wild ride, but they're ready to face it together.

As they waited, the room buzzed with whispers about potential changes and added rest days.
Finally, the marketing and schedule manager arrived, a stack of freshly printed papers in her hands. She took a deep breath and addressed the room. "Here's the new schedule," she said, her voice steady. "As the Iron Lady requested, we've extended the tour to seven months and included additional rest days."
The idols leaned in, eyes scanning the pages that were passed around the table. The tour now spanned seven months with more rest time between shows, giving them a chance to explore the cities they were visiting and recover from their performances. The new schedule was met with a mix of relief and renewed determination. They had more time to make this tour amazing, but it also meant they had to stay in peak condition for a longer period.
"This is great," Shouyou said, running a finger over the additional days marked 'rest' scattered throughout the schedule. "We'll actually get to see some sights and not just hotel rooms."
The marketing and schedule manager nodded. "It's not just about the performances," she agreed. "We want you to enjoy the experience too."
"Tickets and official tour announcements go out in thirty minutes. Would you like to watch the official release in the media room? It'll be broadcasted live," the marketing and schedule manager asked, her eyes gleaming with excitement.
"Yes, let's do that!" Oikawa exclaimed, and the others quickly agreed. They followed her to the media room, where screens lined the walls, displaying various social media platforms and news outlets.
The room grew quiet as the countdown to the ticket release began. The anticipation was palpable as the clock ticked down to zero. The screens flickered to life with the 'Ultimate Idol World Tour' logo and a montage of the groups' faces. "The entire tour is... sold out?" Kuroo's voice cracked with astonishment, his eyes glued to the screen.
"A full house, each concert? That's unbelievable," Asahi murmured, still in awe of the rapid sales. The group looked at each other, a mix of excitement and pressure etched on their faces.
"This is it, guys. We're going to be international stars," Tendou said, pumping his fist in the air. The others couldn't help but smile, feeling a new wave of adrenaline surge through them.
Ukai took a step forward, his eyes gleaming with determination. "We have to keep this excitement going. The tour's success is in our hands now."
"You should all make posts about how excited you are for the tour," the marketing and schedule manager said, her voice filled with excitement. "Tag each other, use the hashtag #UltimateIdolWorldTour and let the fans know that you're just as hyped as they are."
The idols nodded, already reaching for their phones. Within seconds, social media feeds were flooded with messages from all the idol groups, sharing their excitement with the world. The hashtag started to trend, and the anticipation grew.
"Alright, we've got work to do," Ukai said, snapping his fingers. "We've got to make sure we're at our best for every single show. T-minus six days boys! Starting in Tokyo!"

The final act was a reminder of the diverse talents that HQ had to offer, and the crowd was left craving more.
As the last song of Itachiyama's performance commenced, Ukai called for everyone to assemble backstage. "When Itachiyama's final Song finishes "United Melody will play! I want everyone to go out bow and farewell the audience to close the show," he instructed, his voice firm but filled with pride. The idols nodded, their adrenaline still pumping from their individual sets.
The music swelled, and the lights dimmed one last time. The sound of the crowd's applause washed over them like a warm wave as they took their positions in the wings. The stage manager's countdown reached zero, and the opening chords of 'United Melody' filled the air once more. The lights re-brightened, and the HQ entertainment idols flooded the stage, their smiles as bright as the spotlights that illuminated them.
They moved in unison, their hearts beating as one, a testament to the unity they had cultivated over the month of preparation. As they reached the center, they formed a line, their hands joined together, creating a human chain of friendship and passion. The crowd's applause grew louder, a symphony of appreciation that resonated within each idol's chest.
"Thank you all for coming! We hope everyone will enjoy the shows around the rest of the world!" Dachi yelled into the microphone with all his might, his smile wide and genuine. The other idols echoed his words in a harmonious chorus, their combined voices reverberating through the vast stadium. The crowd's applause grew even more thunderous, if that was possible, as they realized the monumental journey ahead of them.
They all take a united bow, their hearts racing with a mix of exhaustion and euphoria. The curtains close, and the lights dim, leaving the idols in the quiet embrace of the backstage. They huddle together, sharing breaths of relief and congratulatory whispers, feeling the weight of the successful opening night lifting off their shoulders.
"Great job, everyone," Ukai says, his voice filled with pride. "Now remember, this is just the beginning. We've got a long road ahead, and we need to keep this momentum going."

Chapter 12: A Flutter Of Baby Owls
Chapter Text
The idols had barely caught their breath from the exhilarating opening night when they were ushered onto the buses for their next destination. The 'Ultimate Idol World Tour' was in full swing, and the excitement was palpable as they sped through the night towards Osaka.
In the Fukurodani Bus, Akaashi and Bokuto sat side by side, their heads leaning against the cool glass of the window as the city lights streaked by.
"Hey Akaashi, we did good tonight. We totally smashed the opening collaboration and our solo set," Bokuto said, his eyes shining with pride.
Akaashi nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Thanks to your guidance, I've never felt more connected with the audience."
"Bokuto is our leader after all," Tatsuki Washio spoke up from across the aisle, "it's no surprise we shined brighter than ever."
The bus was alive with chatter, each member reliving their favorite moments from the show. The atmosphere was electric, filled with the excitement of the night's victory and the anticipation of the long journey ahead.
Bokuto glanced beside him to find Akaashi leaning against the cool glass of the bus window, his eyes closed in contemplation. His heart swelled with warmth at the sight of his friend, who had become so much more over the years. Akaashi had always been there from the beginning of Fukurodani, supporting him, pushing him to be the best he could be.
As the bus rumbled along the highway, Bokuto found himself unable to tear his thoughts away from Akaashi. The way the moonlight played with the soft strands of his short, messy black hair made him seem almost ethereal, his blue eyes with thin pupils and slightly thick eyebrows peeking open every so often to glance outside. It was a sight that had become all too familiar over the years, yet it never failed to stir something within him, a feeling he could only describe as the flutter of baby owls taking flight in his chest.
It was during moments like these, in the quiet aftermath of their shared triumphs, that Bokuto allowed himself to fully appreciate the man beside him. He reached out, his hand landing gently on Akaashi's knee, giving it a gentle squeeze.
Akaashi's eyes flutter open. "Is everything of Bokuto-san?" he asks, his voice calm and soothing despite the rush of the wind outside.
"Do you ever get a feeling in your chest Akaashi? When you look at me? Like a flutter of baby owls taking flight in your chest?" Bokuto asked, his voice barely audible over the hum of the bus.
Akaashi turned to look at him, his smile widening slightly. "I'm not sure I've felt anything quite like that, Bokuto." He paused for a moment, considering his words carefully. "But performing alongside you, knowing we've come this far together... it does feel pretty amazing."
"Akaashi i think... I think I might love you," Bokuto's voice was barely a whisper, but in the quiet of the bus, it felt as loud as the roar of the Tokyo Dome's crowd.
Akaashi's smile grew, but his eyes remained soft and gentle. He placed his hand over Bokuto's, his thumb stroking the back of the older man's hand in a comforting gesture. "I know, Bokuto. I feel the same."
"You do?!" Bokuto's eyes widened in surprise, his heart skipping a beat.
"Yes," Akaashi murmured, his gaze never leaving Bokuto's. The revelation seemed to fill the space between them, warming the chilly bus air.
"So will you be my boyfriend then?" Bokuto asked, his voice a mix of hope and nervousness.
Akaashi's cheeks flushed a soft shade of pink, but his eyes remained steady. "Of course, Bokuto. But let's keep our relationship between us for now, okay? Or atleast till PR Is okay with it," he said, his voice low and even.
Bokuto nodded fervently, his heart racing with excitement. They sat in companionable silence for a few minutes, the rhythm of the bus lulling them into a peaceful lull.
The bus radio crackled to life, Ukai's voice echoing through the speakers. "Alright, everyone. It's been a long day and we've got an early start tomorrow. If you haven't already, please make your way to your bunks and get some rest. We've got a big day ahead of us in Osaka, and we need to be at our best for the fans!"
The chatter in the bus began to die down as the idols reluctantly started to peel themselves away from their conversations. The excitement of the first show was still pulsing through their veins, making sleep seem like an afterthought. But the wisdom in Ukai's words resonated, and one by one, they started to shuffle towards the bunks.
Bokuto and Akaashi shared a knowing smile before standing up to find their bunks. The bus was a flurry of movement as everyone settled in for the night. The rows of bunks were cozy, each personalized with a touch of home - photos, stuffed animals, and lucky charms scattered across the pillows and shelves.
"Goodnight Bokuto-san, I love you," Akaashi said softly as he climbed into his bunk.
Bokuto's eyes widened, his heart racing. He had never heard those words from Akaashi before. "A-Akaashi... I love you too," he replied, his voice thick with emotion. He watched as Akaashi pulled the curtain around his bunk, the moonlight casting a soft glow through the fabric. "Goodnight," Bokuto murmured, his thoughts racing with the newfound reality of their relationship.
Chapter 13: Road to Osaka
Chapter Text
The next morning, as the first rays of sunlight began to peek through the tinted windows of the Karasuno bus, Karasuno's idols stirred from their slumber. The gentle sway of the bus as it cruised along the highway was a soothing lullaby that had cradled them through the night.
"Hinata are you up?," Kageyama called out, his voice still groggy from sleep.
"Yeah, just getting ready," Hinata responded, his head peeking out from his bunk pulling back the curtain.
Kageyama climbed down from his own bunk, his movements swift and efficient despite the early hour. He approached Hinata, his eyes serious. "Thank you for what you said to Oikawa back at the first collaboration practice," he began, his voice low so as not to disturb the others. "I heard how you threatened to expose his ego if he messed with me or us. Even though you don't know why he messes with me."
Hinata, mid-stretch, blinked in surprise before grinning widely. "No problem, Kageyama! We're a team, right?" He paused, then added with a wink, "Besides, I've got your back, no matter what."
Kageyama's cheeks flushed a deep shade of pink, his eyes flicking down to the floor for a brief moment before meeting Hinata's gaze again. "Thank you," he murmured, his voice barely above a whisper.
"You don't have to tell me why Oikawa messes with you, but if you ever want to I'll listen," Hinata said earnestly, his eyes sparkling with sincerity.
Kageyama's gaze held for a moment longer before he nodded, a hint of a smile playing on his lips. "Let's focus on today's performance," he said, changing the subject with a gentle firmness that was all too familiar to anyone who knew him.
"Awe, looking at you getting all shy Kageyama, it's too cute," a teasing voice interrupted the intimate moment, causing both of them to whip their heads around. It was Sugawara Koushi, his grey hair sticking up at odd angles from sleep, leaned against the bunk frame with a knowing smirk.
"Morning you two. Ready for another day?" Sugawara's smirk grew wider as he saw the blush spreading on Kageyama's face.
"Shut up, Sugawara," Kageyama muttered, though the slight upturn of his lips suggested his annoyance was feigned.
Sugawara chuckled, retreating back to his own bunk to gather his things. "I'm just teasing you Kageyama. You know Everyone here would defend you like Hinata did to Oikawa. We're all a family," he said with a warm smile, before disappearing behind his bunk curtain to change.
The bus pulled into the Osaka venue's parking lot, and the idols disembarked, ready to tackle the day ahead. The air was filled with the scent of freshly brewed coffee and the distant sound of stagehands setting up. The sun had barely crested the horizon, casting long shadows across the asphalt.
"Alright, everyone. We've arrived," Ukai's voice crackled through the radio in each bus, "A healthy breakfast will be waiting for you all in the stadium backstage. Security will escort each group out one by one, so please stay in your designated bus until it's your turn."
The idols of Karasuno exchanged glances, the excitement of the day ahead mingling with the anticipation of seeing their friends from other groups again. They had all become so close during the preparation for the 'Ultimate Idol World Tour', and the thought of sharing breakfast together was a comforting thought amidst the chaos of the tour.
As they stepped into the bustling stadium backstage, the aroma of breakfast wafted through the air. The sight of steaming eggs, fluffy pancakes, fresh fruit, cereal and toast was a welcome one. They were greeted by the smiling faces of the catering staff, who had worked tirelessly to ensure each idol had a healthy meal before their day of rehearsals and performances.
The groups mingled freely, discussing last night's performance and sharing stories of their bus rides. Some sat in groups scrolling though social media, watching the buzz about the opening night's show flood their feeds.
Hinata sat with Karasuno who had found a seat with the Nekoma and Fukurodani members. As he took a bite of his fluffy pancake, while scrolling through social media with his other hand, he stumbled upon a post that made his heart swell with pride. The fan had posted a picture of the tour's merchandise booth, zooming in on the heart-shaped light sticks. Each tag read 'Idea by Shouyou Hinata'. The picture next showed the cookbook with everyone's favourite recipes with the tag 'idea by Tendou'.
"Hey everyone! Did you know the marketing, and schedule manager gave all the merchandise tags!? Saying who came up with what idea," Shouyou shouted for all the groups to hear, his phone screen lighting up his face with a grin so wide it could split a watermelon. The room grew quiet for a moment before the air filled with laughter and chatter.
"Your kidding!?" Tendou's eyes went wide as saucers as he leaned over to peer at Hinata's phone screen. "They actually credited us?"
"Send the post in the idol tour group chat shorty! I want to see it!" Oikawa exclaimed, his spoon mid-air and a piece of pancake precariously balanced on it.
Hinata quickly sent the picture to the idol tour group chat, and the phones of all the idols buzzed in unison. They pulled out their phones to see the post, their expressions a mix of amazement and delight. The image of the merchandise booth had each item tagged with the name of the idol who had conceived the idea. From the heart-shaped light sticks to the chibi animal keychains, every creation had its creator's name proudly displayed.
"They went ahead the the behind the scenes practice photo book idea! And i got credited. The fans are going nuts for it!" Atsumu Miya's voice bubbled with excitement. "Thank you my lord Atsumu, for giving me photos of my dear Iwaizumi sweaty and hot practicing," he read one of the comments aloud, making everyone laugh.
"Hey should we make a vlog about breakfast and us preparing for the show?" Inuoka one of Nekoma's members suggested, holding up his phone.
"I'm done eating. I can go around filming everyone. Do some mini interviews? Maybe get some shots of the stadium too," Inuoka said, his phone at the ready. The other idols looked at each other, and then nodded eagerly.
"Yeah, let's do it! It'll be great for our fans to see the backstage of the tour," Kenma added, already envisioning the thrill their viewers would experience.
Inuoka opens his camera app and starts filming, "Good Morning idol fans! Inuoka from Nekoma here with a special behind-the-scenes look at the Ultimate Idol World Tour. Today we're in Osaka and we're kicking things off with breakfast!" The camera pans to show the spread of food before focusing on the groups chattering away.
"Let's go, interview time!" Inuoka exclaimed, his camera rolling as he approached each group. He began with Nekoma, "hello my dear fellow Nekoma team idols! How's your breakfast and how are you feeling about today's show?"
"The food's amazing. The catering staff Truly did their best," Kenma said, his eyes still glued to his phone screen as he talked.
"We're pumped! Can't wait to show Osaka what we've got!" Tetsurou added, popping a piece of fruit into his mouth.
The other Nekoma idols nodded in agreement, flashing smiles at the camera before it moved on to the next group.
"Hey Aoba Johsai! You up to talk to the fans today?" Inuoka called out, aiming his camera at the rival team's breakfast table.
"Hi my sweet angels! Hope your all shining bright today!" Oikawa waved dramatically at the camera, his smile so charming it could melt ice. His Aoba Johsai teammates chuckled, some rolling their eyes good-naturedly at his antics.
"The opening night went way amazing, and that i can say on behalf of Aoba Johsai that we all look forward to rocking the stage in Osaka," Oikawa continued, his enthusiasm infectious.
Inuoka nodded with a smile, moving the camera to capture the Itachiyama idols who were busy discussing their performance outfits. "How about you, Itachiyama? Any surprises you want to tease for the fans?"
Motoya twirled a piece of pancake around his fork. "Well, you know us, Inuoka. We always have a few tricks up our sleeves," he replied with a wink, sending the others into a fit of laughter.
The camera made its way to the Fukurodani group, where Bokuto was already eagerly munching away. "Breakfast is the best meal of the day! And performing is the second best!" He declared, patting his stomach. Akaashi looked up from his bowl of rice, a gentle smile playing on his lips as he nodded in agreement.
"Say hi to the fans Fukurodani! Tell them how much you love them," Inuoka prompted.
Bokuto's smile grew even wider, if that was possible. "Hello my owls! Thank you for supporting us! We're going to make sure this tour is one you'll never forget!" He waved at the camera, his energy infectious.
Inuoka then turned to the Karasuno group, where everyone was already waiting with a mix of excitement and nerves. "And what about Karasuno? How are we feeling about today's show?"
Sugawara took a deep breath before speaking. "We're ready to give it our all, Inuoka. Last night was just the beginning. We want to keep pushing ourselves to give the fans the best experience possible."
Daichi leaned in, his eyes sparkling with determination. "And don't forget, we're not just here to perform. We're here to grow as individuals and as a group. We want to show everyone what Karasuno's really made of."
The camera lens panned over to Kageyama, who nodded solemnly. "We're going to push ourselves to new heights," he said, his voice firm.
"And what about you, Shouyou?" Inuoka asked, focusing the camera on the youngest member of the group. "As the newest idol out of everyone here how are you holding up?"
Hinata swallowed his mouthful of pancake, his cheeks flushing slightly. "I'm... I'm doing good!" He exclaimed, his eyes bright with enthusiasm. "I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be part of this amazing tour with all of you," he gestured around the room. "And I can't wait to keep making memories and growing with everyone!"
The camera swung around to capture the heartfelt expressions of the Karasuno members, who all nodded in agreement.
"Alright, let's get some words from everyone's favourite fox idols Inarizaki! How are you feeling this fine morning?" Inuoka called out, the camera panning to where Inarizaki's members were seated, sipping their morning tea.
"Hello!" The Inarizaki members chorused, their expressions a mix of sleepiness and excitement.
"Sorry some of our foxes aren't morning people," Kita laughed trying to hide his yawn, "But we're all pumped for the show!"
Atsumu puts his arm around his twin brother, Osamu, as they face Inuoka's camera. "Well, it's not every day we get to wake up to such a delicious breakfast and perform with our idol besties," he says with a cheeky grin. "I sore that everyone is loving all the idols merchandise ideas. It's made everyone feel like a part of something big! So thanks for you love and appreciation!"
Osamu nods sleepily, his eyes still half-closed. "It's like a dream, really. We love you all and wouldn't be here without you."
The camera moves on to the Shiratorizawa idols, who sit together in a corner, discussing their choreography with intense focus. "Hey, Shiratorizawa! What's on the menu for today's performance?" Inuoka asks.
"Same as last night. You know we have to stick to the set list." Ushijima bluntly replied to Inuoka's question about any special performances planned for the day.
"Ushi buddy i think Inuoka ment for something more personal," Tendou called out with a playful nudge to Ushijima's arm, "like interacting with the fans, or something fun we do before going on stage."
Ushijima sighed, setting down his fork. "Fine. Before we go on stage we have this little ritual where we do a group huddle and say our mantra. It's like our own little cheer to get pumped," He shared with a rare show of openness, a blush creeping up his neck.
The camera zoomed in on the Shiratorizawa members as they demonstrated their pre-performance huddle. Their faces grew intense as they chanted in unison. "We are one. We are unbreakable. We are Shiratorizawa!" The room grew quiet, the energy palpable even through the screen.
"There you have it fans! Morning interviews with Your favourite idols!" Inuoka exclaimed, his camera still rolling as the groups started to disperse for their individual rehearsals. "Don't forget to keep sending your love and support. It means the world to us! More videos to come! Bye!"
With that, Inuoka stopped the recording and turned to the group. "Alright, I'll send this off to the marketing and schedule manager to get it edited and uploaded. It'll be great for the fans to see us all getting along behind the scenes." He said, a sparkle in his eyes.
He opens an email and attaches the video file, typing out a quick message to the manager with a subject line that read 'Morning Interviews with the Idols!' Inuoka's thumbs dance over the keyboard as he describes the content of the video. "It's full of our usual banter, some sweet moments, and a little insight into our pre-show rituals. The fans are going to love it!" He hits send and leans back, satisfied with his work.
"Great work. We'll have it out lunch, Inuoka," an immediate email response from the manager assured him. The buzz of excitement grew as the idols dispersed for rehearsals, their conversations peppered with the day's itinerary.
Rehearsals for Osaka's show began in earnest. The sound of music and laughter echoed through the stadium's corridors as each group honed their routines. Karasuno's performance of "Sky High" had become a fan favorite, and they were eager to perfect their lifts and synchronization for the upcoming concert.
The atmosphere was charged with anticipation and friendly rivalry as the idols passed each other, exchanging smiles and cheers.
During a quick bathroom break, the excitement of the day washed over Shouyou as he walked down the hallway, his heart pounding with every step. He had to use the bathroom, the one place where everyone had a brief moment of solitude amidst the bustling tour schedule. As he pushed the door open, his eyes widened in surprise. Itachiyama's Sakusa Kiyoomi and Inarizaki's Atsumu Miya were in a heated embrace, their lips locked together in a passionate kiss.
The two older idols froze as they heard the door creak, their eyes meeting Shouyou's shocked gaze. They quickly pulled away from each other, Atsumu's cheeks flushing a deep shade of red while Sakusa's expression remained surprisingly calm.
"Ah, Shouyou, this isn't what it looks like," Atsumu began to stumble over his words, a hand rising to his lips as if to cover the evidence of their secret kiss.
"I won't tell anyone. I'll even share a secret of mine too make us equal. I'm secretly bisexual," Shouyou said with a nervous chuckle, hoping to ease the tension. Atsumu's eyes went wide, and Sakusa's calmness cracked with a surprised look.
"Shouyou, you don't have to—" Atsumu started, but Shouyou waved him off.
"It's cool, I get it," Shouyou said quickly, trying to put them at ease. "Your obviously not out yet by your reaction. So I'll keep your secret and you keep mine till we're both ready to tell everyone." He gave them a reassuring smile, hoping that his own revelation would help them feel less embarrassed.
Atsumu and Sakusa shared a look, a silent conversation passing between them. After a moment, Atsumu spoke up. "Thanks, Shouyou. We're not ready for everyone to know yet. It's still new for us."
"No problem," Shouyou nodded, his smile genuine. "But remember, we're all friends here. Maybe we can swap contacts and chat sometimes while we're on tour. It's a long journey and it's nice to have someone to talk to about... well, anything." He offered his hand to Atsumu, who took it with a grateful smile.
The two older idols shared their numbers with Shouyou, and the trio promised to keep each other's secrets.
"Now if you don't mind I'm going to use the toilet like I originally planned," Shouyou said with a wink, stepping into the bathroom.
"All good. It's our bad for choosing the busiest bathroom in the building," Atsumu laughed nervously, punching in Shouyou's number. "We'll keep in touch."
Their secrets shared, the trio returned to their respective activities, the weight of their confessions lightening the air. Shouyou felt a new sense of camaraderie with Atsumu and Sakusa, a bond formed by understanding and mutual respect. As the day rolled on, the rehearsals grew more intense, each group pushing themselves to outdo their previous performances.
The Osaka concert approached, and the tension backstage grew palpable. The scent of hairspray and sweat mingled with the excitement in the air. As they hot their make-up and wardrobe on, the idols of Karasuno, Fukurodani, Nekoma, Aoba Johsai, Itachiyama, Inarizaki and Shiratorizawa couldn't help but feel the pressure of the sold-out crowd waiting outside.
"Alright, let's do this," Bokuto said, slapping his thighs with a grin. "We're going to blow them away, just like we did in Tokyo!"
"Just so everyone knows," Ukai's voice echoed over the intercom, cutting through the buzz of the dressing room, "After the show tonight, we're heading straight to the airport. We're heading To America for the next leg of the 'Ultimate Idol World Tour'. We'll be there for a month and a half, starting in the city that never sleeps, New York!"
The idols exchanged glances, a mix of excitement and nervousness playing on their faces. This was it, the moment they had all been working towards. Their dreams of performing on international stages were about to become reality.
"We'll also be doing some charity and hospital visits during our stay in America," Ukai's voice continued over the intercom. "It's an excellent opportunity to give back and interact with our international fans."
The idols nodded in agreement, the weight of their mission sinking in. The thought of performing and meeting fans from different countries filled them with excitement. They knew the road ahead was long, but the prospect of bringing joy to people worldwide fueled their determination.
As they took the stage, the lights blinded them for a moment before the roar of the Osaka crowd brought everything into focus. The heart-shaped light sticks twinkled in the dark, a sea of red and white, representing not just all of HQ Entertainment.
The groups performed flawlessly, each one feeding off the other's energy, pushing each other to new heights. The audience responded with thunderous applause, waving their light sticks in unison to the beat of the music.
Before they knew it the show was over and the idols were backstage, panting and laughing, the adrenaline from the performance still coursing through their veins. As they changed out of their performance outfits, the chatter grew louder as they shared stories from the stage and the reactions of the crowd.
"Alright. Listen up! Our flight leaves in four hours. The airport is going to packed, with fans so remember, stick together and keep your cool," Ukai announced, his voice firm but filled with excitement. "Security will do their best to keep everyone safe, but we all know how it can get. So, let's stay sharp, and let's not forget our manners when signing autographs. So carry a pen on you," he added with a wink.
"Yes sir! We're ready to conquer the world!" All the idols chorused, their spirits high.
"Alright. Let's load up! Time to show America what we're made of!" Ukai's voice boomed.
The idols filed out of the stadium, their hearts racing with excitement and a touch of anxiety. The 'Ultimate Idol World Tour' had just begun, and the thought of performing in New York City was both exhilarating and daunting.
As they boarded the buses, Ukai's voice came over the intercom. "Remember, guys, our buses are going to be loaded onto cargo planes for the trip to America. Make sure you stow your luggage properly in the draws and keep your valuables with you. Pack a change of clothes and entertainment for the Flight, along with charging cords, and any medication you might need. We're going to be airborne for a while."
The excitement grew as they approached the airport, the towering planes in the distance a stark reminder of the adventure ahead. Fans lined the pathways, holding banners and shouting their names.
"Wow that's a lot of people," Shouyou whispered to himself, his eyes widening at the sight of the crowded airport. The sea of fans grew more frenzied as they caught sight of the HQ Entertainment idols. The flash of cameras and the screams grew deafening as they made their way to the drop off point.
"Stay close to me Shouyou. I'll show you how it's done," Sugawara shouted over the noise, grabbing Shouyou's hand firmly. They'd faced crowds before, but the sheer number of fans was overwhelming.
The idols moved quickly through the airport, waving and smiling at the adoring faces that surrounded them.
Shouyou's eyes darted around, taking in the chaotic scene, when he spotted a little girl with a Karasuno poster getting squeezed by the older fans at the front. Concerned, he nudged Sugawara and pointed her out. "We should help her!"
Sugawara nodded in agreement, and the two idols swiftly made their way to the little girl.
"Hey! Can't you see the little girl your Squishing in your want to be noticed?" Shouyou's voice pierced through the din, catching the attention of the overzealous fans.
The teenagers looked down, immediately recognizing their error, and stepped aside, allowing the girl to breathe. Her eyes widened in awe as Shouyou knelt down in front of her, a gentle smile playing on his lips.
"Hey their darling I'm Hinata, and this is Sugawara would you like an autograph?" He offered her.
The little girl nodded vigorously, her eyes welling up with happy tears. Sugawara took out a marker and signed her poster with a flourish, adding a smiley face next to his signature.
Taking the marker from Sugawara he signed his own name with a playful wink, adding a small chibi version of himself in the corner. "Keep that safe, okay? And thanks for your support."
"And you older fans be more careful and watch for the young ones, okay?" Shouyou called out as they continued their way to the boarding gate. The little girl clutched her poster tightly, a beacon of pure joy in the sea of chaos.
Their act of kindness didn't go unnoticed. One of the other group's manager's, a stern-looking woman with a heart of gold, nodded approvingly at them. "Good job, boys. We need to remember that our young fans are just as important as the older ones."
As they boarded the plane, Shouyou noticed only the idols and the staff were on board. "Did we book out the whole plane?" He asked Ukai, who was busy with the final checks.
Ukai looked up with a chuckle, "No, but we did get a private section for us. It's important we get plenty of rest. We've got a full schedule ahead of us in New York."
"Oh ok." Shouyou nodded, taking in the grandeur of the plane. He made his way down the aisle, smiling and waving at the other idols already seated.
He finally found his seat, nestled between Bokuto and Atsumu. "Bokuto! Atsumu! We get to be plane Buddies!" He exclaimed, throwing himself into the plush chair with childlike enthusiasm.
Bokuto looked up from his phone with a grin. "Yeah, buddy! Best seat in the house," he said, patting his seat. Atsumu's eyes met Shouyou's with a gentle smile, and the three of them settled into the plush seats.
"What took you and Sugawara so long to board?" Bokuto asked, his eyes twinkling with mischief.
Shouyou blushed slightly, "Well I noticed a little fan was getting squished between some overzealous older fans so we helped her out. Then gave her an autograph."
"Was the little fan okay?" Atsumu inquired, his gaze softening.
"Yeah, she was so happy. She had a Karasuno poster and everything," Shouyou beamed. "It's amazing how far our reach goes."
As the plane took off, the idols were served a meal, their conversation a mix of excitement for the tour's American leg and the exhaustion from the first set of performances. The air was thick with anticipation for what lay ahead.

Chapter Text
As the plane soared through the night sky, the idols of Karasuno, Fukurodani, Nekoma, Aoba Johsai, Itachiyama, Inarizaki, and Shiratorizawa buckled in, their minds racing with thoughts of the adventure ahead. New York City, the concrete jungle where dreams are made of, was the next stop on their 'Ultimate Idol World Tour'.
Shouyou leaned his forehead against the cool plane window, his eyes glued to the twinkling lights of Japan fading into the horizon. They looked like a sea of stars, scattered carelessly by a giant hand. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his notebook, a small treasure trove of thoughts and lyrics, and scribbled down his inspiration.
"In this plane in the sky so high above, the city lights look like a million stars that we're leaving behind." The words flowed naturally, a gentle melody forming in his head to match the poetic rhythm.
"What you writing? Another hit song?" Bokuto teased, peering over Shouyou's shoulder.
Shouyou flushed and quickly closed the notebook. "Just some thoughts," he mumbled, trying to play it cool.
"You know what'd be cool if we wrote out some opening lyrics, then challenged the fans to come up with the rest?" Shouyou mused aloud, his eyes still fixed on the fading lights of Japan.
"That's not a bad idea," Tendou mused from the row infront, turning in his seat to look back at them. "We could choose the best lyrics, and make it another collaboration Song."
"A fan-made song for the tour," Atsumu chimed in, his eyes lighting up. "It'd be a way to include them in our journey."
"Hey manager Ukai! Manager Washijo! We have an idea back here!," Tendou's voice boomed through the cabin, drawing the attention of both managers.
Ukai raised an eyebrow, but the excitement in the young idols' voices was contagious. He made his way over, with Washijo following closely behind. "Alright, what's the brilliant idea?"
Shouyou and the others explained their fan collaboration song concept, their enthusiasm growing as they spoke. The managers exchanged a knowing glance; they knew the potential of fan engagement in boosting their popularity and maintaining the buzz around the tour.
"Great idea," Manager Ukai said, his voice filled with excitement. "We can announce it during one of our vlogs, get them involved from the start."
"I have some opening lyrics we can use. I just wrote them down before. Do you want hear them?" Shouyou asked, a hint of nerves in his voice.
Ukai nodded, "Sure, go ahead."
"Oh we'll harmonise it with you Shouyou," Bokuto exclaimed, clapping his hands together.
Shouyou took a deep breath, and with Bokuto and Atsumu by his side, they sang the opening lyrics of their potential collaboration song. "In this plane in the sky so high above, the city lights look like a million stars that we're leaving behind." Their voices blended perfectly, echoing through the cabin and catching the attention of the other idols. The managers' faces lit up with excitement, nodding in approval.
"Wow, that's amazing," Washijo said, his eyes gleaming. "This could really work. The fans will love it."
"Love what? We all heard singing back there!" Kenma's voice piped up, curiosity piqued as he peeked over the top of his laptop screen from across the aisle a few rows back.
"We're working on a new song idea, a collaboration with the fans for the tour," Shouyou explained, his cheeks tinting a soft shade of pink.
"We send out opening lyrics then the fans can write the rest. Then we choose the best parts and sing it together as another collaboration song for the tour," Tendou elaborated, his eyes shining with excitement.
"It's like we're all part of the same team," Kuroo added, smiling at the idea of including their supporters in their music.
"Well I think those opening lyrics sound perfect. You Bokuto and Atsumu sounded great together," Ukai said with a nod of approval. "We'll get to work on the details and announce it soon. Send me the opening lyrics Shouyou."
"Yes sir!" Shouyou said with a grin, scribbling down the lyrics and ripping out the page to hand it to Ukai.
The managers retreated to the front of the plane, leaving the idols to their own devices. The excitement of another collaboration filled the cabin, sparking a series of whispered conversations.
The rest of the flight to New York City passed in a whirlwind of excitement, with the idols sharing their hopes and dreams for the tour. Some talked about the different foods they wanted to try, while others spoke of the iconic landmarks they hoped to visit. The anticipation grew with every passing hour, the cabin a cacophony of laughter and chatter.
As they descended into the city that never sleeps, the idols couldn't help but press their faces to the windows, taking in the sprawling metropolis that lay below them. The lights of New York were like a second sky, a dizzying display of human achievement and ambition.
Shouyou pulled out his phone and snapped a selfie with the stunning view in the window in the background. His heart raced as he typed out a caption. "Guess who's here, America? 🛫💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 The 'Ultimate Idol World Tour' has arrived in the Big Apple! 🍎💃
"I want to take a selfie with you Shouyou! Atsumu you lean in too!" Bokuto exclaimed, grabbing their shoulders and squeezing into the frame. The camera shutter clicked, capturing their excited expressions against the round window backdrop of the New York skyline.
He posted the picture with the caption, 'Hey! Hey! Hey! New York! We're here!' and tagged Shouyou and Atsumu.
Both post was immediately flooded with comments from fans around the world, eager to share in their excitement. The digital ripple of their arrival had reached the far corners of the internet, announcing their presence in the city.
Once they landed, Ukai's voice boomed through the cabin, reminding them of their instructions from Osaka. "Remember, everyone. Just like in Osaka We stick together, stay close, and security will escort us to the buses." The idols nodded, their excitement now tempered with a touch of nervousness. They knew the fervor of New York fans would be intense, especially for their first performance in America.
The moment they stepped out of the plane, the air was thick with the scent of plane fuel and anticipation. A wall of sound hit them as the fans, who had somehow found out their arrival time, erupted in cheers and screams. The airport had turned into a mini concert venue with banners waving and flashes from cameras popping like fireworks.
The idols were escorted by a team of burly security guards, their heads held high as they waved to the fans. The excitement was palpable as they walked down the corridor towards the buses, the floor vibrating with the stomping of eager feet.
Once on the bus, Noya pulled out his phone, scrolling through the endless stream of messages and notifications that had piled up during the flight. A video caught his eye, the thumbnails showing a blur of motion and a sea of faces. He clicked on it and watched as the video loaded, his heart swelling with pride as the scene unfolded.
The footage was from Osaka, the day they had boarded the plane. It was of Shouyou and Sugawara, noticing the little girl being squished by the throng of fans. Noya watched as they rushed to her side, their expressions a mix of determination and care as Shouyou told off the older fans. How Shouyou and Sugawara had bent down to give her an autograph, their eyes sparkling with kindness, had captured the hearts of those who had witnessed it in person. The video had been posted by a fan, and it had gone viral.
"Hey guys! A fan posted a video of Suga and Shouyou helping that little girl in Osaka!" Noya exclaimed. "It's gone viral too!"
The idols crowded around Noya's phone, their faces lighting up as they watched the heartwarming moment on repeat. The little girl's delighted squeal and the way she clutched her poster to her chest and ran to her mother after Shouyou and Sugawara had left her side filled the bus with warmth.
"Good. I'm glad she safely made it back to her mother without being squished again after we left," Sugawara said with a relieved smile.
"Dude I found the mums account! She made a post saying how grateful, she is you two stopped to help her." Tanaka said, passing the phone around.
The post showed a picture of the mother and daughter holding the signed poster, beaming with joy. With the caption 'Thank you to the Karasuno idols who saved my baby when she was being squished by older fans. You guys are true angels. We'll never forget this moment. #ThankYouKarasuno'
"We should respond To the post! Tanaka send it to me!" Sugawara said, eager to respond to the mother.
"On it!" Tanaka replied, sending the link to Sugawara's phone.
"Me too!" Shouyou exclaimed, taking out his phone.
"Coming through now shou!" Tanaka shouted.
Shouyou's thumbs danced over the screen, typing a heartfelt message to the mother. "Glad to see she made it safely back to you! I'm happy we could help. Remember to always keep reaching for the stars, and we'll keep singing for her to reach them! 💖💃💃" He posted a comment on her post.
Sugawara, his heart swelling with emotion, added his own response. "It was nothing, really. We're just doing what good idols should. Spreading happiness and helping those who support us. Tell your daughter to keep shining bright like she did that day. #ForeverGrateful"
The bus pulled away from the airport, the cheers of fans fading into the distance. The idols settled into their seats, scrolling through their phones, sharing messages from fans, and discussing their plans for the New York leg of the tour.

Chapter Text
The bus ride to their hotel in New York City was a whirlwind of sights and sounds. The idols, eyes glued to the windows, took in the towering skyscrapers, bustling streets, and vibrant billboards. It was a stark contrast to their quiet lives in Japan, and the excitement was palpable.
In the Nekoma bus, "look at the size of those pizzas! We should totally try one!" Yamamoto exclaimed, his eyes wide as they passed a pizzeria. Watching a waiter carry a giant pizza with ease.
Yasufumi Nekomata, who was seated at the front, turned around with an amused smile. "Giant pizzas, huh?" he said, raising an eyebrow. "Well, we are in New York. But remember, we have strict diets to maintain."
The idols groaned in unison, but there was a spark of mischief in Yasufumi's eye. "Fine. But only once, and you'll have to share it with all the groups, and work it off during rehearsals," he conceded, knowing that a little indulgence could do wonders for morale.
"I'll message the other managers and ask if they are ok with too," Nekomata said with a chuckle. He sent a quick text to Ukai and Washijō, who both responded with smiling emojis and a thumbs up.
"Hey Nekomata how long are we staying in a hotel and where?" Kenma asked.
"We'll be here for a week, and the hotel is right in the heart of Times Square," Nekomata replied, his voice filled with excitement. "You'll love it. The lights, the energy, it's like nothing you've ever seen. We have the whole top floor booked out just for everyone."
The anticipation grew as the bus pulled up to the hotel. The idols piled out, their eyes widening at the towering building that was to be their home for the week. The hotel's grandeur was a stark contrast to their usual lodgings, and it was clear that this was going to be an unforgettable experience.
"Omg, it's the HQ Entertainment idols..." A shocked fan holding a bag of luggage whispered to their friend as the idols strutted into the hotel, their matching outfits and bright smiles stealing the show. "Shouyou i love you!"
"Atsumu i love you!" The other fan squealed. "I can't believe we're staying in the same hotel!"
"Hi, thanks for your support ladies!" Atsumu responded in English as the walked in the hotel lobby. While Shouyou waved in their direction.
The two fans, star-struck and wide-eyed, watched as the idols disappeared into the the lobby. In awe that their idols had noticed them, they could hardly contain their excitement.
In the lobby the managers spoke with the hotel staff, ensuring their stay would be comfortable and secure. The idols were ushered to the elevators in groups, their eyes scanning the glittering chandeliers and plush carpets.
When they reached the top floor, the doors opened to reveal a floor dedicated to HQ Entertainment's idol groups.
"Alright! Listen up each room sleeps four people. You may room with people from other groups, but you must behave if i hear any noise complaints, then we will change the arrangement," Manager Ukai announced as the idols looked around the floor.
The groups paired off, and Shouyou found himself with Bokuto, Akaashi, and Kageyama. "We're gonna have the best week ever," Bokuto declared as they entered their suite, which boasted a breathtaking view of the city."
"It's pretty amazing that were staying in time square right?" Shouyou said, unable to hide his excitement as he placed down his bag.
Kageyama nodded solemnly, his gaze flickering to the floor-to-ceiling window.
A Knock on the door interrupted their awe-filled silence. Akaashi walks over and swung it open, revealing Ukai. "Make your way to the common area for a briefing ten minutes," he said before turning to leave.
Akaashi closes the door gently behind Ukai and sits one of the beds with a sigh. "Alright, let's get ready," he says, his voice filled with the same excitement bubbling in the room.
Bokuto throws himself onto the bed beside him, grinning like a kid in a candy store. "We're in New York, baby! Time to show 'em what we're made of!"
Shouyou laughs, feeling his heart race at the thought of their first performance in the city that never sleeps. Kageyama, ever stoic, nods in agreement as he sets his bag down.
Over in Sugawara, Daichi's, Kuroo's and Kenma's room, the excitement was palpable as they too prepared for the briefing. "This is gonna be epic, right?" Kenma said, his voice filled with a rare excitement. "I can't wait to see the look on everyone's faces when we hit the stage in this city."
Daichi nodded, a wide smile spreading across his face. "Yeah, and I'm looking forward to the sightseeing days too. We've got to hit up Central Park and the Empire State Building, right?"
Totally!" Kuroo exclaimed, jumping onto a bed. "And don't forget about the pizza we're gonna eat!"
"I still can't believe your group somehow got the managers to agree to let us, breaking from our strict diet for one meal," Daichi said, his voice filled with amazement as they all laughed at the thought.
"We should do a hotel room tour video for the vlog," Sugawara suggested as they settled into their rooms. "Check out few of the others rooms too. It'll give the fans a peek into our lives on tour."
"Great idea, Suga," Kuroo said, already pulling out his phone. "But let's not forget to show them the epic view from the windows!"
Daichi nodded, gesturing to the floor-to-ceiling windows that offered a breathtaking panorama of Times Square. The neon lights reflected off the gleaming buildings, creating a kaleidoscope of colors that danced across the room.
"Three... two... one!" Kuroo announced, switching on the camera app and pointing it at the trio.
"Good morning America! I'm Daichi! Karasuno's leader!" Daichi said into the camera with a friendly smile.
"And I'm Sugawara! Karasuno's second in command," Sugawara chimed in, waving at the camera.
And I'm Kenma! Nekoma's second in command, and filming is Kuroo Nekoma's amazing leader!" Kenma added.
"Hey everyone, it's Kuroo here, bringing you all the juicy details from our stay in this amazing hotel in Times Square! With these three goofballs," Kuroo said, gesturing to his roommates.
"Today we'll show you our hotel room, and maybe bug a few others for a quick peek!" Kuroo announced with a mischievous grin as he panned the camera around the room, showing off the luxurious accommodations.
"As you can see there's four beds in the room. And each room has its own mini fridge. Even though we won't use it due to our strict diet," Sugawara said with a dramatic sigh, pouting at the camera.
Just as Kuroo was about to pan to the bathroom, a knock on the door echoed through the room. Daichi jumped in surprise, while Kenma rolled his eyes and muttered something about privacy.
Kuroo turns the camera to the door, capturing the moment Daichi opens it. Ukai's stern face fills the frame, but his eyes twinkle with amusement. "Eight minutes until debrief" he says, his voice firm but not unkind.
"Say hi to the fans manager Ukai!" Kuroo called out, grinning at the camera.
Ukai's stern expression broke into a grin as he waved awkwardly. "Hello, everyone. Remember to behave," he said, his voice filled with mock severity before disappearing down the hallway.
Daichi closed the door and turned to his roommates. "Alright, let's get this done quickly. We don't want to be late."
They quickly show the bathroom before deciding to check out the other groups' rooms. As they tiptoe down the hall, the sound of laughter and fabric rustling catches their attention. They stop outside a room with the door slightly ajar, peering in with the camera to see Bokuto and Shouyou in the midst of a raucous pillow fight. Kageyama sits cross-legged on a bed, his phone held aloft, filming the chaos with a smirk. Akaashi leans against the wall, shaking his head with a grin, his eyes twinkling with mirth as he watches his friends act like kids at summer camp.
"Haha. What are you two idiots doing?" Kuroo called out as they burst into the room, the camera still rolling.
The pillow fight abruptly ceased, and Bokuto and Shouyou looked up with a mix of surprise and sheepishness. "We were just... uh... warming up for the concert?" Bokuto offered lamely, a pillow clutched in each hand.
"No, we weren't," Akaashi replied, chuckling at Bokuto's attempt to cover for them. "Bokuto just couldn't resist starting a pillow fight. He's got the energy of a toddler on a sugar rush."
Shouyou shot a playful glare at Bokuto, and held up his hands in mock surrender. "He started it!"
"In my defense, it was a perfect throw," Bokuto said with a smug grin.
"What?" Shouyou squealed, indignant. "You totally missed!" He picked up a pillow and lobbed it at Bokuto's head.
"Kageyama, tell me you got most of the fight on film," Sugawara curiously asked taking a pillow from the bed bonking Hinata on the head.
Kageyama smirks, stopping his recording. "Every second," he said with a nod, his phone screen showing a replay of the chaos.
"Awesome send that to me via email and I'll send it with ours for the vlog," Kuroo said to Kageyama with a chuckle. "Fans are gonna love it."
"Now show us your room! The view, who's sleeping where and your bathroom, for the vlog," Daichi said pointing at Kuroo filming.
"Let's do it! I'm bokuto and I throw pillows like nobody's business," Bokuto said, dramatically pointing to himself with a flourish. "And this is my partner in crime, Karasuno idol Shouyou," he continued, wrapping an arm around Shouyou's neck and pulling him into the frame. "And we'll be your tour guides for our room!"
"Our room buddies are Akaashi and Kageyama! Akaashi chose the single bed next to the wall and Kageyama the single one next to it! And guess what?" Bokuto paused dramatically, grinning widely at the camera. "Hinata and I are sharing this big, fluffy king-sized bed!"
"It's not weird for us to share a bed! We've known each other since we were kids," Shouyou protested, his cheeks flushing as he tried to wriggle out of Bokuto's grip. "We'd have sleepovers and sing idol songs all night!"
"Over here is the wicked view we're gonna have while we're in the Big Apple," Bokuto said, dragging Shouyou over to the window.
The camera panned over to the spectacular view of Times Square, the neon lights flickering and flashing, casting an array of colors across their faces. The room buzzed with excitement as they shared their space with the world, giving a taste of the once-in-a-lifetime experience they were living.
"Then you have, the TV, mini fridge-"Bokuto started, but was cut off by Sugawara interrupting "You have a TV? Unfair we don't have one!" Sugawara exclaimed as he playfully stuck out his tongue.
"Then over here is our bathroom its got a big shower and a spa bathtub big enough for two," Bokuto winked at the camera, earning a whack from Shouyou. "But don't get any ideas!" Shouyou added with a laugh, trying to maintain a straight face.
"Alright, enough of this silliness," Akaashi said, gently. "We've got to get to the debriefing. Let's all say goodbye to the fans."
"We'll see you all in the next vlog! Be sure to like and subscribe for more Ultimate world tour chaos!" Sugawara cheerfully bellowed towards the camera.
"Bye!!" They all said waving together. Before Kuroo stopped the video.
"Kuroo-san now that the videos done, while we walk to debrief can you put your email into my phone I've attached the pillow fight footage," Kageyama said, passing his phone to Kuroo.
"You got it," Kuroo replied, taking the phone and quickly inputting his email and sending it. "And sent."
"I'll save it, and add my video to it too and send it to the marketing and schedule manager for the vlog," Kuroo said with a nod, tucking his phone back into his pocket. "Let's go before Ukai starts without us."
The eight idols, their laughter echoing in the hallway, made their way to the common area, where everyone else was already assembled. The room was ablaze with excitement and energy as everyone talked over one another, sharing their first impressions of the hotel and the city.
As they settled down, Ukai took the podium, a map of the city spread out before him. "Alright, listen up," he began, his voice firm but not unkind. "We're going to have a busy week ahead of us. We have rehearsals, interviews, fan meet-and-greets, and of course, the main event your New York concert. But remember, we're not just here to work. We're here to represent Japan and HQ Entertainment, so let's show the world what we're made of!"
"Also well done to Inuoka for his breakfast vlog interview video back in Osaka it was a hit!" Nekomata said, clapping his hands together.
"Speaking of vlogs i just sent two videos to the marketing and schedule manager. One is a room tour video of our room. That somehow when going to tour other rooms turned into us walking in on Bokuto and Shouyou in a pillow fight. We did tour their room in the end too though." Kuroo said, with a mischievous glint in his eye.
"Kageyama did film the pillow fight and Kuroo sent that too," Kenma added with a smirk.
"We didn't film it but Samu and I were Pillow fighting in our room with Sakusa and Suna." Atsumu said with a laugh, as he sat next to Kita in the common area.
Ukai couldn't help but chuckle at the revelation of the impromptu pillow fights. "Well, it seems like you're all getting along quite nicely," he said, his eyes scanning the group. "Remember, this is a world tour, and we're all here to support each other." He gestured to the map of New York. "Now, let's go over our schedule for the week. We've got a packed lineup of activities, and we want to make sure that every moment is perfect for our fans."
The idols leaned in, eager to hear the details of their week in the city. They discussed the locations for sightseeing and fan events, their eyes lighting up at the mention of iconic landmarks like the Statue of Liberty and Central Park.
"We'll have two days dedicated to rehearsals, and the rest will be a mix of fan meet-and-greets, interviews, and some free time for you to explore the city," Ukai explained, pointing to different areas on the map.
The idols nodded eagerly, scribbling notes on their schedules. The thought of exploring New York together filled them with a mix of excitement and anxiety. It was a chance to not only bond as performers but also as friends.
"And remember," Ukai continued, "the fan meet-and-greets are crucial. We want to show them the best version of ourselves, but also be genuine and approachable. It's important to make connections with our international fans."
"Where will they take place?" Sakusa inquired, his curiosity piqued.
"Madison Square Garden for one meet and greet, then we've gotten permission to surprise kids in the New York kids cancer hospital," Ukai added, his voice softening slightly at the mention of their charity work. "We've been given merchandise to hand out to the sick kids, so let's make sure we spread joy."
The idols nodded solemnly, understanding the gravity of their roles as entertainers and the impact they could have on those in need. The thought of bringing smiles to the faces of those children brought a new level of determination to their preparations.
