Conference Dismissal

Summary:

All she has to do is sit still and listen to Robin for an hour, if only a certain green shapeshifter wasn't being so irritating.

Submission for BBRae Week 2025: "Caution: May Bite"

Notes:

This is another silly little one-shot, whilst it is not my best work, I think it's fun. I read Harassment by Nightglider124 a while ago and realised halfway through writing this that I did not come up with the Titans having some sort of conference on my own it was entirely theres but I find the idea of Beast Boy and Raven annoying each other during a 'meeting' hilarious, so shout out to that fic.

Enjoy!!

Work Text:

Annual general team meetings were a new addition to the Titans, as the Titan’s grew and recruited more members it became important to ‘foster good interpersonal relations and ensure all Titans are kept updated on all issues and information’ or whatever Robin had decided. This was the first of the Titan’s new yearly meetings with all the Titans and honorary Titans. It was proving to be ridiculously boring.

Nonetheless, Raven was trying to ignore the annoying shapeshifter sitting to her right and focus on their leader. Robin was talking with determination to the teams, some were attending over video call, others had made the journey to Jump City to attend. They had renovated one of the empty rooms in the tower to accommodate all the Titan’s attendance of the meeting, it wasn’t very fancy, but it provided everyone with chairs and a mini little stage for Robin to deliver his presentation.

This meeting was also a great excuse for everyone to get together for a day, the moment this meeting was over everyone who attended in person would stick around and hang out. Raven was pretty sure she had heard Speedy and Kid Flash discussing ways to convince Robin to take the day off, and Raven could see Starfire engaging in a whispered conversation with them at this very moment.

This was an important meeting, important information was being told, and Raven could hear Robin’s voice but what he was saying was not quite registering in her brain because a green finger kept wiggling next to her face. Just out of the corner of her eye, distracting her and, quite frankly, mocking her.

Beast Boy had taken the seat next to her, slightly a step or two back from her own, or at least it was before the meeting had begun. He had completely changed the original placement of the chair; he had turned it around almost immediately upon reaching it and had been inching it forward every chance he got.

For some reason, he could not sit on the chair like a normal person, no, he had to use the back of the chair as a place to lean his body against. One arm was placed upon the top of it as he rested his chin on it, reaching over to stretch his finger just out of reach of her face.

He was trying to poke her, miming the action but not quite touching her. A deliberate effort to piss her off, technically if he didn’t touch her, she couldn’t react.

He had been irritating her since the meeting started ten minutes ago, his left foot had slowly made its way right next to hers, pressing into the side of her boot. His chair had been scooted closer and closer to her own with each passing minute. She could hear the screech of the metal against the floor as evidence of his journey.

And he was smirking. That fangy, smug smirk he always had when he knew he was getting to her. His attention seeking act was not needed at this moment and Raven was incredibly close to snapping.

Finally, he quickly poked the side of her cheek, his eyes glinting. Raven had been waiting for this move and as quickly as she felt the touch of his finger against her skin, she whipped her head around and tried to bite it.

The boy pulled his finger back as fast as he could, letting out a high-pitched squeak and jumping back in his chair. His abrupt movement made his chair screech against the floor, loudly echoing across the room, drawing everyone’s attention to the green shapeshifter.

Raven schooled her face, as if she hadn’t acted so immaturely, and stared straight on. It wasn’t often she engaged in such childish behaviour, but Beast Boy always brought it out in her. She was slightly proud of herself, in having caught the resident’s jokester so off-guard.

And the incredulous look across his face almost made the sides of her mouth turn up into a smile, almost.

“Beast Boy, you need something?” their leader asked, his eyebrow raised at the green shapeshifter.

“Nope, Rob” Beast Boy responded, looking sheepish, “sorry.”

Robin seemed to accept this, carrying on and gesturing to his slideshow presentation. Azar, he had spent weeks on that thing, it was almost sad.

Raven was sure she’d have some peace now, and that had ought to teach Beast Boy a lesson.

She should have known he wouldn’t back down; she had basically challenged him.

The low sound of his chair scooting back to its position, way too close to Raven for her liking, made his intention clear.

“Rae” he whispered, leaning in close to her across the small gap between their chairs.

Raven ignored him once again; she had already risen to the bait once. She would not do it again, no matter how enjoyable it was.

“Psst” he tried again, “Rae”.

His foot lightly kicked her own.

“What?” she shot back, keeping her voice quiet.

“Why did the handsome green shapeshifter scoot his chair closer to the demon girl?” he joked, his breath warm against her neck.

Raven shook her head and refused to answer, crossing her arms over her chest in defiance.

“Oh, come on Rae-Rae” he whispered once more, his foot kicking higher up her leg.

Raven let out a sigh, there was no getting rid of him.

“Why, Beast Boy?”

“Revenge” he shot out quickly, digging his finger into the side of her stomach where he knew she was ticklish.

An even louder shriek erupted from her own mouth before she could stop it. The entire room abruptly turned around to stare at where the noise had come from, at her. She shot a look at Beast Boy, who was casually leaning forward on his chair, rocking it forwards a little.

“Raven, are you ok?” Robin asked, looking irritated at his second interruption.

Raven felt her face heating up, “Yes, sorry” She responded, not sounding very believable.

Robin furrowed his eyebrows at her but turned around and went back to explaining the new communicator updates that Cyborg was implementing.

The moment Raven was sure everyone’s attention was back on Robin; she raised her hand and flicked the shapeshifter in the face.

His eyes widened with feigned shock, shaking his finger in a ‘tut-tut’ style. Raven rolled her eyes, shooting him the middle finger. He let out a small gasp, Raven felt her mouth beginning to turn upwards as she tried to bite back a smile.

He had noticed, his eyes lighting up. Raven immediately regretted it; he scooted his chair even closer to her own, how that was even possible she didn’t know. She tried to ignore him again, fixing her eyes on a spot across the room. There was no point trying to understand what Robin was saying, she had lost the point of the presentation around the time Beast Boy first brushed his foot up against her leg. So, around three minutes into the meeting.

This was going to be a long hour.

Suddenly she felt a wet slide of something across her cheek. He fucking licked her. She yelled and shoved him away from her, harder than she had intended. The boy’s chair began to tip over and, in a scramble, to stabilise himself he grabbed on to her hands, pulling her down alongside him.

Their chairs clattered to the ground and Raven found herself laying on top of a smug shapeshifter with her hands pressed to his chest, holding her up slightly. His hands had found their place on her waist, the two of them were staring at each other. Raven’s face felt as red as he looked, the fact that all the Titans were definitely staring at them was not lost on them.

“RAVEN AND BEAST BOY, LEAVE” Robin’s voice thundered across the room, the two of them scrambled to their feet as quickly as they could.

“But Rob—” She began.

“OUT”

Raven crossed her arms, shooting the changeling a glare, and walked out of the room as quickly as possible. She could hear him following behind her as they rounded the corner of the hallway.

“Rae-Rae” she heard a sing-song voice coming from behind her.

“No,” she snapped back.

“No?”

“No.”

“You’re welcome”

“You’re welcome?” she sputtered, turning around to face him, “you licked me and got me kicked out of the meeting, in front of everyone”.

“Correction, I licked you and got you kicked out of the most boring meeting ever” he smirked, crowding her against the wall.

Her back pressed up against it, he placed his right hand next to her head and leaned down. Raven felt like she was in one of her bad romance novels with the way he was smirking at her. He was just full of smirks today.

“We need to get you a warning label, Rae, Caution: Might Bite” he laughed, “and now we have an hour all to ourselves”.

Raven squinted at him, she did not want to encourage his bad behaviour, yet it was a good point. The meeting was terribly boring, and really what was the worst Robin was going to do to them for interrupting his presentation?

She went up on her tippy-toes and pressed her lips to his, wrapping her arms around his neck.

Her boyfriend responded immediately, bringing his left hand to her cheek, deepening the kiss. His tongue swiped across her lower lip, and she parted her lips to allow him to slide his tongue against her own. His thumb pressed into her cheek, as they broke apart.

“I’m telling Robin this was all your fault, and that you pushed me” she said, playing with the hair at the nape of his neck.

“That’s fair, do I at least get a reward for taking all the blame” Beast Boy grinned before leaning in for another kiss.

“It was quite literally your fault” she murmured against his lips.

“But Rae- “ he whined, “ -you tried to bite me first”.

She slipped out from underneath him, ducking under his arm and grabbing his hand. Raven began to pull him in the direction of the elevator.

“Come on, let’s go” she said, “If you’re lucky I might bite you again”.

He let out a loud laugh at her response and trailed after her.
