Robert was with Vanessa in the town hall, where they would be hosting the Emmerdale Pride 2025 event. Robert was excited that it was the sixth year in a row that Robert and Vanessa had hosted a Pride event in Emmerdale. The LGBTQIA+ community has grown significantly since then and has become even more diverse. Ethan was helping them with the legalities. Matty was there too to fight for trans rights. They could not let any members of their community down.
“What do you think of this?” Robert asked.
“It looks good,” Vanessa said.
“How’s the legal stuff coming along, Ethan?” Robert asked.
“It is going well. I’m almost done,” Ethan said.
“Good because Pride is a few days away,” Robert said. “Matty, we are all here with the Pride month fight. We want to fight the good fight.”
“We need more allies for the trans community, we can’t let the government get away with this,” Matty said passionately.
“Well, we’ll reconvene tomorrow to hang up the decorations,” Robert said.
“Sounds good, boss,” Vanessa said.
Robert arrived home and was happy to see all of his favourite people. His husband, Aaron. His sister, Liv and her husband, Vinny. His three Children, Seb, Annie, and Jacob. Their fourth child was on the way.
Robert never thought he would have a family like this, where he would be loved unconditionally by all these people. He thought he would forever be in denial about his bisexuality. He never thought he and Aaron would have a family.
“I know what you’re thinking, and same. Before you, I never thought I would have all of these things. I’m always grateful that we have Liv and our children in our lives and that I have you,” Aaron said.
Robert went over to Aaron and hugged him tightly.
“I love you,” Robert said.
“I love you, too,” Aaron said.
“I love all of you too,” Robert said and kissed each of his children’s cheeks.
“Why are you so sappy today?” Liv asked.
“It’s pride month and I’m happy of my queer family,” Robert said.
“I’m thankful that I found someone who understood my asexuality and accepted me for who I am and loved me even though it would be a sexless marriage because of my preferences,” Liv said.
“How could I not love you? You brighten up my day,” Vinny said.
“We are heading up to our flat, but call us if you need anything,” Liv said.
Liv and Vinny left and went to their flat.
“Daddy Robert, Daddy Robert,” Seb said.
“Yes?” Robert asked.
“Look at what I drew for Pride Month,” Seb said and showed him the drawing.
It was a picture of their family. RObert, Aaron, Liv, Vinny, Seb, Annie, and Jacob. It was perfect.
“This is perfect,” Robert said and hugged Seb close to him.
Aaron and Robert spent the rest of the evening with their children until it was time to put the children to bed.
After they put their children to bed, Aaron and Robert sat on the sofa to talk.
“I love you Mr. Sugden-Dingle,” Aaron said.
“I love you, Mr Sugden-Dingle,” Robert said.
Robert leaned over and kissed Aaron. The kiss was perfect. A perfect reminder of what they had. They had each other and their family, and they were still as in love and passionate with each other, ten years after their first kiss.
“So, how are the pride preparations coming?” Aaron asked.
“It’s going well, I can’t wait to show you everything that we have done for it, people will know that we may be small but we are a queer village,” Robert said.
“I love the idea of kids growing up and knowing it is ok to be queer, unlike what it was like for us,” Aaron said.
“I hope our children know that they can come to us about anything,” Robert said.
“Let’s go to bed. Pride is the day after tomorrow, and tomorrow you have to set up early,” Aaron said.
“Sounds good,” Robert said.
Aaron and Robert went upstairs, holding hands, and were happy to be together and in love.
Vanessa arrived home and was happy to see Charity there with Debbie, Jasmine, Noah, James, Sarah, Jack, Moses, and Johnny.
“Hi, everyone, I’m home.
“Babe, I missed you,” Charity said.
Charity stood up and walked towards Vanessa and kissed Vanessa. The kiss showed how much Charity loved Vanessa and their family.
“Mum, James and I don’t even kiss in front of you,” Noah said.
“Jasmine and I do all the time,” Debbie said.
There is no shame in our love. You and James should flaunt your relationship,” Charity said.
“Yea that is why we are having the pride event so that everyone knows that its okay to be queer,” Vanessa said.
“I’m not ashamed of being gay, I just don’t want everyone in my business,” Noah said.
“I think it would be hot if you kissed me in front of everyone,” James said.
“I’ll kiss you at Pride in front of everyone,” Noah said.
“Is that a promise?” James asked.
“It is,” Noah said.
Noah and James left to go out.
“Jasmine, would you kiss me in front of everyone at Pride?” Debbie asked.
“Of course, like I do every year. It is bi for bi pride,” Jasmine said. “I can’t believe that me and two of my cousins are queer.”
“Well me and two of my cousins are queer too, so is my mum and step mum and my brother and our daughter,” Debbie said.
“It must run in the family,” Jasmine said thoughtfully.
“I’m sure it does,” Debbie said. “Come on, Sarah and Jack, it's time to go home.”
Debbie, Jasmine, Sarah, and Jack went home.
After a while, Charity and Vanessa put Moses and Johnny to sleep, leaving them sitting by themselves on the sofa.
“I really, truly, deeply love you,” Charity said.
“I completely love you, too, Vanessa said.
Vanessa leaned over and kissed Charity. Vanessa could not believe that, after five years of marriage and all the kids and grandkids they have in their lives, they are still very passionate with each other. It was great to know that they loved each other and would be together forever.
“We should go to bed. I have to be up early tomorrow, and the day after that is Pride,” Vanessa said.
“Sounds good, wifey,” Charity said.
Charity and Vanessa walked hand in hand upstairs and walked to their bedroom in love with each other as ever.
It was the day of the Pride event, and the whole village was excited about it. There were many LGBTQIA+ people in the village.
Aaron woke up snuggled in Robert’s arms. It was the first day that he woke up before Robert all week. Robert would need to go soon to ensure that everything is ready before the villagers arrive. Vanessa, Ethan, Matty, and they worked really hard to ensure that Pride would be a success.
“Come on, Robert, wake up, it is time for us to get ready and take the children to Pride,” Aaron said.
“Five more minutes,” Robert groaned out.
“What happened to my perfectionist husband who can’t stand anything he does being imperfect,” Aaron teased.
“I worked hard all week, and the whole village will see that this event will be perfect.
“Then come on, wake up,” Aaron said.
“How about we spend five more minutes in bed just you and me,” Robert said suggestively.
Aaron leaned over and kissed Robert. He would never tire of the fact that Robert wanted Aaron as if he were breathing.
Charity woke up early for once and was happy that her wife was still in bed with her. Vanessa, her beautiful wife, was a perfectionist who worked hard to ensure that the whole village had the perfect pride experience. Charity wanted to spend some quality time with Vanessa before they had to attend the pride event.
“Vanessa, wake up, we have ten minutes before we have to wake up, and I want us to spend some quality time together,” Charity said.
“Okay, I’m up, I’m up,” Vanessa said groggily.
Charity hugged Vanessa close to her body and leaned in and kissed her. Charity could not believe that she had not grown bored of Vanessa after five years of marriage and even more years together. Charity may have seen other attractive people, but no one made her want to act out or cheat on her wife. This was a record for Charity. Charity was happy that she could be herself with Vanessa and that it didn't matter what she did; Vanessa still loved her. Vanessa was Charity’s soulmate, and they were perfect for each other.
Charity kissed down Vanessa’s neck and marked all of her sensitive spots.
They still had five more minutes.
Matty arrived at the pride event and was the first among the organisers. He was wearing a 'Trans Lives Matter' T-shirt in the trans flag colours. His wife Amy would be there in half an hour. He would not give up on trans kids. They would be stronger together, and all trans kids mattered.
Ethan walked in and looked happy.
“I got the local council to look at the trans lives matter letter you wrote, and it looks promising,” Ethan said.
“Perfect, thanks. We need all the support that we can get,” Matty said.
Vanessa and Robert arrived at the same time, and both of them looked flushed.
“Good morning?” Ethan asked teasingly.
“What can I say? I love my husband,” Robert said.
“And my wife loves me,” Vanessa said.
“Okay, what do we need to do before everyone shows up in half an hour?” Robert asked.
The four of them ensured that everything was prepared before the village arrived at Pride.
Liv was walking with her husband, Vinny, and her brother, Aaron, and Aaron’s and Rober’s children, Seb, Annie, and Jacob.
Liv had the asexual flag drawn on her face. She was also wearing a shirt that said sex isn’t everything.
Liv felt proud of being asexual.
When they entered the town hall, they ran into Gabby and Gabby’s girlfriend, Jamilla. Gabby’s son Thomas was also there.
Gabby had an era where she was trying to prove to herself that she was not a lesbian and slept with Jamie Tate. After the birth of her son, Gabby finally admitted to herself that she was a lesbian and had been happily dating Jamilla for over a year.
Gabby was wearing the lesbian flag painted on her face and a lesbian flag coloured shirt.
Thomas was wearing I love my mummies.
Nikky and Sunil arrived next. They moved in together recently and were very happy together. Sunil was even thinking of proposing to Nikky.
Gabby’s brother Arthur arrived soon after. He liked the new Barton brother, Lewis, but nothing had happened between them yet. Arthur thought that they would be perfect together. He was hoping to make a move on him this afternoon.
Charity arrived with Moses and Johnny. With Noah and James behind them. Charity really liked her son’s boyfriend and hoped that they would go the distance.
Debbie, Jasmine, Sarah, and Jack arrived next. Debbie and Jasmine were both wearing bi shirts. Sarah was wearing a pansexual pride shirt. Jack wore my mummies love me.
Soon, everyone arrived, and it was time for Vanessa and Robert to make their speeches.
“Welcome, everyone, to the Emmerdale Pride event 2025. We have all things LGBTQIA here. If you are part of the community or an ally, you are welcome here. We hope you have a great time,” Robert said.
“We hope that you enjoy what we have made for you. And may we have all our rights protected,” Vanessa said.
Matty walked up to the microphone and began talking.
“Trans lives have been under threat lately, and we need to stop that. We must protect trans kids, and all trans lives matter. We have a trans area for all people who are questioning their gender and who might not be cis, fight the cistom,” Matty said.
Robert walked over to his family and proudly kissed his husband in front of everyone.
“What was that for?” Aaron asked.
“I just wanted to make sure that you knew that I’m not ashamed of you,” Robert said.
“I think three weddings would say that,” Aaron said.
“I’ll kiss my husband as much as I want,” Robert said.
Vanessa walked over to Charity. Charity kissed Vanessa like there was no tomorrow. It was the perfect kiss and one that showed everyone exactly who Charity Dingle was interested in.
Noah remembered his promise to James and kissed him, dipping James. James was happy that Noah remembered the promise and kissed him so passionately. James loved Noah and could really see a future with him.
“I always keep my promises,” Noah said.
“I loved that kiss,” James said.
“Good, I’m glad,” Noah said.
Debbie kissed Jasmine, and Jasmine swooned. The kiss was perfect, just like the day they first got together almost twenty years ago.
Gabby pulled Jamilla into her and kissed her. Jamilla smiled into the kiss.
“I’m so thankful that you understand that I’m kiss averse just as much as I am sex aversed,” Liv said to Vinny.
“I don’t mind not kissing, there are other ways that we can show each other that we love one another,” Vinny said.
Arthur walked up to Lewis, and Lewis stopped what he was doing.
“Do I have something on my face?” Lewis asked.
“No, it’s not that. I just wanted to know if you wanted to go out with me sometime?” Arthur asked.
“Oh yeah, that would be great,” Lewis said.
The whole village enjoyed the pride event. It was a great way to show the LGBTQIA members of the community that they were loved and cherished.
