Work Text:
Day by day, their bond deepened, pure, unshakable, and tender.
Every morning, Luna vowed her love and loyalty anew, serving her beloved princess with a devotion that knew no limits.
In each shared moment, their hearts drew closer, unaware of the cruel fate that awaited.
But the truth did not remain hidden forever.
When the King discovered their secret, he flew into a rage.
He declared Luna’s love a sin beyond forgiveness, an act deserving of punishment.
Yet Luna refused to be condemned without a fight.
She stood tall! not only for herself but for the princess she cherished more than life itself.
In their final farewell, the two shared a fleeting embrace, unable to look each other in the eye.
Tears streamed silently down their cheeks as they parted ways…
The princess ascending the steps to watch from above…
The maid descending into the arena to meet her fate.
The King unleashed his knights upon the maid.
And still, without fear or hesitation, she fought.
With blood-stained hands, she clashed with the noble knights one by one.
Each one falling like a barrier broken,
Each victory a flicker of hope within reach.
But then the King gave a final order.
He called upon his most trusted knight: Varna.
As Luna saw her step onto the field, she knew… her fate was sealed.
Varna, who followed orders without question.
Varna, the knight her beloved princess admired… and loved in her own way.
A soft, resigned smile touched Luna’s lips.
She knew what had to be done.
She dropped to her knees and gazed up at the sky.
Not in surrender, but in acceptance.
She could not let Varna be burdened with her blood.
And she could not bear the thought of her princess watching her fall.
The moment Princess Rahu turned her eyes away, a split seconds..
Luna acted.
With one final breath, she drove her sword into her own heart.
She died with her love, loyalty, and pride intact.
Carrying them to the grave.
and in that fading moment, she whispered,
“Maybe in the next life, I’ll braid your hair again… without it being a sin.”
