Eternal Smile

Summary:

Law likes his peace and quiet but when Luffy and his friends suddenly appear in his life, it’s hard to get rid of them and even harder to get rid of Luffy. After a while, Law has to admit, maybe Luffy isn’t the worst person to be around. Maybe he doesn’t even mind his presence.

Chapter 1: Stair Railing

Chapter Text

It had been a pretty slow day for Law. He had only had five patients in and three of them were only a check up on their stitches. Law was in the break room when Shachi and Penguin walked in complaining about their boredom.

“Can’t we have something exciting happen at least once?” Shachi said as he left Penguin’s side to walk towards Law. “How many patients have you had today?” Shachi placed his hand on Law’s shoulder and looked in his eyes. Law grabbed his arm and took it off his shoulder before turning to set down his empty coffee mug on the counter.

“Five.” Law stated turning back towards Shachi and Penguin. “And I thought I had a slow day,” Penguin said looking at Shachi “I had eight and they were all in for small injuries or check-ups.”

”Atleast you had more than Law,” Shachi said crossing his arms, “I only had three!”

Law’s eyes darted from Shachi to Penguin as both of them began bickering and decided his time would be better spent elsewhere.

As he walked out, he ran into one of the nurses. “Oh, there you are, Law. We have a patient bleeding all over the lobby floor. Could you please hurry, we’ve already got quite a lot of complaints from other people.”

As she spoke, Law sighed saying goodbye to his peaceful day. Once she was done speaking, he went down to the lobby mentally preparing himself for whatever mess he was about to get himself into.

Whatever he had in mind, it was definitely not what he saw. For someone who’s arm was bleeding out, the black haired boy seemed to not mind the amount of blood spilling on the ground. Next to him stood a blond haired boy with a scar covering his left eye.

Even from far away, Law could tell he was going to give Law a headache. Once Law got close enough he stopped in front of them and introduced himself. “I’m Dr. Trafalgar and unfortunately for me, I’ll be your doctor today.”

The blond haired boy smiled as he started to introduce himself. “I’m Sabo and this is my little brother Luffy.” He pointed at the smiling black haired boy sitting next to him. Before Law could speak again, a voice cut him off.

“Woah! Your tattoos are awesome! Can I see them!?” Before he could respond, Luffy had grabbed a hold of his sleeve and tried to lift it up to reveal the rest of his arm. “I’d rather treat your wound instead of showing you my tattoos while you bleed out in the process.” Law pulled his arm away before sighing and bringing his arm back down to his side. This was going to be troublesome.

“Follow me, please.” Law turned to walk towards the room with Luffy and Sabo following close behind. “Hey, Torao, so after this can you show me your tattoos?” Luffy had walked fast enough to now be right beside Law and look at the already exposed tattoos on his hands.

“That’s not my name. It’s Trafalgar.” Law spoke without looking at Luffy and instead opened the door to the room so they could step inside. “That’s what I said. Torao!” Law grumbled as he watched Luffy smile and take a seat on one of the chairs. He was clearly not going to correct himself.

Sabo laughed quietly, “Looks like you’ve been Luffy-ed.” He walked over to Luffy and stood next to him. “Let’s just get this over with.” Law walked over to Luffy to begin giving him stitches.

“How did this even happen?” Even though Law would rather not know, he was required to ask. “Oh, um, Ace said I couldn’t skateboard on the stair railing so I had to prove him wrong.” Luffy smiled brightly and something about it told Law this was something pretty common.

“Clearly he was right.” Law stated, referring to the open wound on Luffy’s arm. Law didn’t know who “Ace” was but he didn’t seem like the brightest guy. “No, he wasn’t! I did it but then I fell when I got to the bottom.”

“Ace never specified the details of the bet and now he owes Luffy fifteen dollars.” Sabo shook his head as he spoke which also gave Law the idea that this also happens often. Luffy looked at Sabo, “Ace owes me more than that cause he also said that I couldn’t stay on for the whole time.” Luffy smiled as if that made the situation better.

“Falling off at the end counts as not staying on the whole time. Ace only owes you the fifteen.” Sabo corrected him making Luffy pout. “That’s not fair!”

Law reached out for Luffy’s arm to begin cleaning up the wound but was stopped by Luffy grabbing Law’s arm instead. “You never answered my question!” Luffy stated looking Law in the eyes.

Law took his arm away from Luffy’s clutches and responded, “What question?” Law knew what question he just didn’t want to answer.

“About seeing your tattoos.” Luffy tried once again to reach out for Law’s sleeve but failed as Law had been expecting it and had successfully avoided it. “I’ll think about it.” Law responded knowing that he only said that so Luffy would quit asking.

“Fine. But I’m not leaving until I see them.” Luffy crossed his arms and narrowed his eyes at Law. “Once he wants something, it’s almost impossible to argue with him anymore. Sorry about that.”

Law looked over at Sabo who just smiled back sheepishly. “Can we just get this over with?” Law looked back at Luffy who had his gaze on Law’s tattoos again.

Law cleaned up Luffy’s arm and began stitching his arm at the fastest pace he could without messing up and causing further damage. Once he finished, he began wrapping Luffy’s arm in a bandage.

“So, does this mean you’ll show me?” Luffy tilted his head trying to see his tattoos from the inside of his coat sleeve. “Sorry again.” Sabo looked at Law apologetically.

“It’s fine.” Law sighed knowing he would keep asking if he didn’t show him. Once he finished wrapping Luffy’s arm, he took his coat off to reveal the tattoos on his arms. “There. Now you can leave.” Luffy grabbed Law’s right arm to get a closer look. “Woah! These really are awesome! You should show them off, Torao!”

Law shook off Luffy’s arm, put his coat back on, and turned towards the door to get out of the room. Law tried to walk quickly but Luffy was right next to him the whole time. “Hey, Torao! Do you have more tattoos? Can I see those too?”

“No. Go back to the lobby so you can leave.” Law kept walking hoping Luffy would give up and leave. Thankfully, he was soon saved by Sabo who distracted Luffy.

“Luffy, we have to go pick up with Ace so we can go to the party. If you don’t hurry, there might not be any more food left.” With those two sentences, Luffy’s attention turned from Law to Sabo as he now seemed to be in a rush to leave.

“Why didn’t you say so! Come on, Sabo! We have to hurry!” Luffy grabbed Sabo’s arm and ran towards the lobby. As Sabo ran with Luffy, he turned back to give Law a wave and a smile.

As Law watched the brothers run down the hall towards the lobby, he breathed a sigh of relief hoping to never have to encounter them again.

Law began to make his way back to the break room to get (in his opinion) a well deserved cup of coffee.

When Law entered, he was greeted by Shachi and Penguin who had backed Bepo in a corner and forced him to listen to their complaints. “My day hasn’t been so bad. It’s been pretty calm unlike other days.” Bepo said looking between Shachi and Penguin.

Law ignored the three of them and instead made his way towards the coffee pot. He grabbed a mug and poured in his coffee. He turned around, leaned his back against the counter, and took a sip of his coffee.

Bepo had watched Law enter the break room and in an attempt to get Shachi and Penguin away, he betrayed Law. “Haven’t you asked Law about his day? I’m sure his was more exciting.”

Law glared at Bepo from over his mug. Bepo gave him an apologetic look as Shachi and Penguin turned towards Law.

“So, how was your day?” Penguin said as he approached Law. “You never answered us earlier. When we looked back, you were gone.” Shachi said as he came to a stop beside Penguin.

“I left because you two were being idiots complaining about the first time we’ve had an easy day this whole month.” Law took another sip of his coffee and walked towards one of the chairs to take a seat.

“We weren’t being idiots! We were bored! There’s a difference.” Shachi and Penguin crossed their arms as if proving a point.

“When aren’t you guys being idiots?” Law turned his attention from the idiots to Bepo who was now eating shaved ice.

“We aren’t idiots when we look out for you.” Penguin and Shachi both looked at Law and his now empty coffee mug.

“I’m a grown man, I don’t need you two idiots looking out for me.” Law got up and put his mug in the sink before returning to his seat. “How many coffees have you had today, Law?” Bepo spoke quietly looking down at his shaved ice.

“Seriously? You too Bepo?” Law groaned but answered them anyway, “Three.” Shachi and Penguin looked at Law before Penguin spoke up, “That’s a low number but considering it’s only one in the afternoon, I don’t want to know the number by the end of the day.” Bepo and Shachi nodded their heads in agreement.

“Did you even sleep last night?” Shachi said uncrossing his arms. “I did.” Law got up from his seat and made his way to the door. “How many hours?” Penguin asked.

“I don’t need you guys keeping track of my sleep.” Law stopped in front of the door before turning to glare at the three of them and walking out of the room.

———————————

Law sighed as he looked at the clock. He still had three hours left on his shift before he could go home. He had only gotten three other patients after Luffy left and would probably only get two more for the day.

Law was sitting in the break room once again, staring down into his coffee. He knew he shouldn’t drink so much but he had become dependent on it. He knew the idiots were right but he would never tell them that.

A noise from the doorway made Law lift his head to see who it was. Bepo walked in and headed towards the fridge.

“Shachi and Penguin wanted to know if you wanted to go to a party with us on Saturday.” Bepo spoke without looking away from the inside of the fridge.

“Let me guess, they sent you because they know I’m more likely to say yes to you.” Law picked up his coffee and took a slow sip.

“Yeah, sorry.” Bepo closed the fridge to look at Law. “Don’t apologize. It’s fine.”

“So, no?” Law looked up at Bepo and sighed. “What type of party is it?”

“I don’t really know. Shachi is the one who told Penguin and I.” Law placed his coffee down and looked back at Bepo. “Tell them I’ll decide on Saturday.”

“Okay.” Bepo turned to leave and walked out of the room. Law was most likely not going to go. Making them wait for his decision gave Law four days without the two of them begging for him to go somewhere besides his home and the hospital.

Although, they might end up dragging him along no matter what he says. He might even say yes to save himself the trouble of the two idiots forcing him out of his own home. He could say no and just lock his door. That might not work. Knowing them, Shachi and Penguin would lift the other through Law’s window.

Law knew they just wanted him to not be in his house all the time and go out anywhere besides the hospital. Just the idea of of having them follow him around and drag him out of his house for the rest of his life made him groan.

Law drank the rest of his coffee and wiped his mouth with the back of his hand. He got up and walked to the sink so he could wash his mugs.

———————————

It took Law about ten minutes to finish washing them and once he was done, he took another look at the clock. Two hours left. Two more hours and he was free to rest in the comfort of his own home.

Law leaned his back on the counter, his eyes scanning the empty room. A noise from down the hall drew Law’s attention to the door. Soon after, Shachi and Penguin came in with Bepo following behind.

“Law! Bepo told us the great news!” Penguin ran towards Law and wrapped his arms tightly around him enveloping him in a tight hug. “All I said was that I would think about it.” Law tried to break away from Penguin but his grip was too tight.

Law thought it was surprising at how long it took them to come barging in. Bepo had either taken his time to tell them or they had gotten distracted.

“Even considering going out is huge accomplishment for you!” Penguin unwrapped his arms around Law and took a step back to smile at him. Beside him, Shachi sniffled and wiped away a fake tear putting his arm around Penguin’s shoulders. “They grow up so fast. Soon we won’t even have to worry about him.”

“I don’t know why I’m even friends with you guys.” Penguin put his arm around Shachi’s shoulders and responded, “Because no one else but us wants to approach someone with a constant glare on their face and “DEATH” tattooed on their knuckles.”

“You guys are insufferable.” Law walked away from them and took a seat on one of the empty chairs. “I haven’t even made up my mind about going to whatever party you guys are attending.”

“It’s at a bar so it’s not going to be too big which is perfect for you since you don’t even like parties that much.” Penguin showed him the bar on his phone. “It’s just a celebration for the bar’s forty-third anniversary.”

“If it’s at a bar, why is Bepo going? I thought you weren’t a big drinker.” Law turned his attention to Bepo who had been quiet the whole time. “Penguin and Shachi said they needed someone to drive in case they get too drunk.”

“Sorry, Bepo but we’ll make it up to you.” Shachi looked at Bepo and gave him a reassuring nod. “If they don’t, I will.”

“Booo! Favoritism!” Shachi and Penguin both turned to Law to give him a thumbs down. “Bepo’s not an idiot like the two of you. He’s also too nice to be taken advantage of.”

“We aren’t going to take advantage of him. We always make it up to him in the end. Right, Bepo?” Shachi, Penguin, and Law all turned to Bepo for his answer. “We’ll, I guess you do, but sometimes it’s a little late.”

Shachi and Penguin both slowly turned their heads to face a glaring Law. “Okay, so maybe we’re a little late sometimes, but better late than never.” Shachi and Penguin both smiled sheepishly at Law.

Law looked at Bepo and spoke, “I would tell you to stop agreeing to whatever they tell you, but you’re too nice for that so instead…” Law turned his attention from Bepo to Shachi and Penguin, “stop making Bepo agree to your terrible ideas.”

“We don’t have terrible ideas. They’re just not the best ideas.” Shachi said trying to make it better. “That’s the same thing as terrible ideas.” Law replied, getting up from his seat. He’d had enough of their idiotic selves and decided to spend the last hour of his shirt elsewhere.

“Where are you going, Law? You don’t want to spend quality time with us?” Penguin asked as he watched Law walk towards the door. “No, I don’t want to spend any time with you two. And with that, Law exited the room and began to walk down the hall.

———————————

Law was now in his car driving home, his shift had ended almost thirty minutes ago and he would be home in about five minutes.

He tapped his fingers on the steering wheel as he came to a halt at a red light. Once the light turned green, he sped up and turned on his street. He drove down the street until he neared his house, coming to a slow stop and then parking his car in front.

He turned the engine off, sighing as he let his head fall back on the head rest relieved to finally be home. He grabbed his stuff and stepped out of his car. As he approached the door he bagan to search for his keys in his back pocket.

He unlocked the door and stepped inside. He placed his keys on the table next to the door, set his stuff down on the couch, and made his way to the bathroom.

He walked in the bathroom and stood in front of the sink, placing his hands on either side of it. He stared at his reflection in the mirror before looking down at the drain and reaching for his toothbrush.

He grabbed the tube of toothpaste and placed some on his toothbrush. He brushed his teeth while looking at his reflection in the mirror. He spit out the toothpaste and rinsed his mouth with mouthwash.

Upon finishing, he left the bathroom and made his way to his bedroom. He took his shoes off by the door and went to lay on his bed. He laid down on his back, his hands resting on his stomach as he looked up at the ceiling.

He turned on his left side trying to find a comfortable sleeping position. Once he found one, he closed his eyes and slowly fell asleep.

———————————

Law woke up in a cold sweat. His hand was clutching his chest, his breathing was heavy, and sweat was running down his back and forehead.

He should be used to it by now, but no matter how many times it happened, it was always the same outcome. Law would wake up panicking, unable to get himself to calm down, which eventually led to him staying awake for the rest of the night.

Even though he knew it was pointless, he laid back down trying to get his breathing under control in hopes of falling back asleep. He stared up at the ceiling, his breathing getting slower and calmer.

He laid there on his back for almost an hour before deciding give up on trying to fall back asleep. He got up and sat down on the edge of his bed, his elbows resting on his knees.

His skin felt sticky and gross from all the sweat. His mind was still thinking about the nightmare.

He got up and headed towards the bathroom. A shower would definitely help with the sweat. Hopefully, it would even calm him down.

———————————

After finishing with his shower, he went to the kitchen to get a cup of coffee. It was now six in the morning and there was no way Law would be able to fall back asleep.

He might as well start his day now. He walked into the kitchen and started the coffee machine. He grabbed a cup and poured out his coffee.

Once he finished, he went back to his bedroom to strip his bed of his sweat soaked sheets. He tossed his sheets in the washing machine and grabbed some new clean ones.

He made his bed and went over to the couch. He laid down on his back, closed his eyes and sighed. Today was going to be a long day.

Chapter Text

After paying and running out of the hospital, Luffy and Sabo had arrived to their house. Luffy dashed up the stairs and barged inside. “Ace! Where are you?! Are you ready!” Luffy ran around yelling in search of Ace.

“Calm down. I’ll be ready when I’m ready.” Ace appeared from out of his bedroom with a shirt in his hand. Sunny, a yellow golden retriever followed him out. “Sabo said we’re gonna be late! Come on!” Luffy jumped up and down pumping his fists in the air.

“Have you even checked the time? We have forty minutes.” Luffy stopped what he was doing, took his phone out of his pocket, and checked the time. His phone screen had the numbers 1:50 at the top.

“And it doesn’t even really start until around three thirty.” Ace pulled his shirt over his head and sat down on the couch.  Sunny laid down by the couch next to Ace.

As soon as Sabo walked into the house, he was tackled by Luffy. “You lied! You said we had to hurry!” Sabo smiled and laughed nervously as he tried to get back up.

“Okay, so maybe I exaggerated a little bit but you were bothering the doctor and he clearly wanted you to go away.” Sabo got up and went towards the kitchen. “I just wanted to see Torao’s cool tattoos.” Luffy pouted as he followed Sabo into the kitchen.

“Well, he clearly didn’t want to show you.” Sabo reached over the counter to grab a jar of dog treats. “Merry! Sunny! Come!” Sabo called over the golden retriever and the brown and white border collie who appeared from Sabo’s room while stretching.

“Can we take Merry and Sunny with us?” Luffy asked as he sat down on the counter, swinging his feet back and forth. “We always take them with us.” Sabo gave them their treats and patted both of their heads.

“I know that but they’re not usually allowed in the bar.” Sabo put the jar of treats back on the counter and looked at Luffy. “Jinbe’s closing the bar to the public so that we won’t be interrupted.”

“I can’t wait to see everyone again! It’s been ages since everyone was together.” Luffy jumped down from the counter and went to the fridge. “It’s been two weeks at best.”

“Oí! Luffy! How was the hospital?” Luffy turned his attention from Sabo to Ace and raised his bandaged arm. “I got stitches from a really cool doctor! His name was Torao!”

“His name wasn’t actually ‘Torao’ it was Trafalgar. Luffy just gave him a nickname.” Sabo corrected Luffy and turned to Ace. “I’ll have to ask Marco who that is and if he can thank him for giving you stitches.”

Sabo walked out of the kitchen and into the living room. “By the way Luffy, you need to change. You can’t go dressed like that.” Luffy looked at his outfit and then at Sabo. “What’s wrong with my outfit?”

“You’re shirt has stains and your shorts not only have stains but they also have holes. You are not wearing that to Chopper’s graduation party. Either change or we’re not going” Luffy pouted but walked over to his room to change.

He stared at his unorganized room before picking out a red T-shirt with a yellow star in the middle, clean jean shorts, and finally, adjusted his straw hat on his head. Feeling happy about his choices, he walked out of his room and towards the living room to show Sabo.

“How about this?” Luffy stood proudly in front of Sabo to properly show off his outfit. Merry and Sunny both lifted their heads but lowered them once they realized it was just Luffy.

“That’s definitely better than before.” Sabo looked at Luffy’s outfit from where he was seated on the couch across from Ace’s sleeping body. Luffy smiled brightly upon hearing the compliment about his outfit.

“We have about twenty more minutes before we leave. Ace said Marco might get here around five to ten minutes before.” Sabo looked over at Ace who was still sleeping on his back. “Hopefully he wakes up before then. If not, we’ll have to put him in the car and hope he wakes up on the drive over.”

“He better wake up soon! I’m not dragging him in the car!” Luffy crossed his arms and looked at Ace. “Neither am I. Last time we did that we dropped him a few times and  bumped his head on the car.” Sabo also crossed his arms to look at Ace.

“Anyways Luffy, I’m gonna go get changed. Open the door for Marco if he gets here early.” Luffy nodded his head and walked off to the kitchen.

A few minutes later Sabo emerged from his room wearing a plain black T-shirt and blue jeans. “Marco still  isn’t here?” Luffy shook his head as he took a bite of the leftover spaghetti from the previous night.

“He said he just got here.” Luffy and Sabo both looked up at Ace who was now walking towards the door. “When did you wake up?”
“Like a minute ago.” Ace turned to Sabo and shrugged his shoulders.

A knock was heard from the door along with Ace yelling back, “Coming.” Sabo raised an eyebrow and smirked at Ace. “Oh, shut up.” Ace turned away from Sabo and walked towards the door.

When Ace opened the door, he was greeted with a tight hug from Marco. Marco let go after a few seconds and walked inside. “Whose car are we taking?” Sabo raised his right hand and responded, “Mine.”

“Luffy, can you help put the dogs’ harnesses on?” Luffy put the now empty bowl in the sink and nodded at Sabo. “Yup!”

Sabo handed him Merry’s harness and kept Sunny’s in his hand. Once they finished, they started walking towards the door where Ace and Marco were waiting for them. Sabo grabbed his keys and followed Ace and Marco with Luffy and Merry following him.

They all walked out front and towards Sabo’s car which was a black Nissan Sentra parked by the curb. Sabo put Sunny in the back before getting in the driver’s seat. Luffy also put Merry in the back before getting in the passenger seat.

Ace and Marco both got in the back realizing what Luffy and Sabo had done. They had forced them to sit together. Not that they didn’t want to but it was sort of awkward that they had done it on purpose.

“Hey Sabo! You should let me drive!” Luffy bounced in his seat wanting to be behind the wheel. “No, Luffy. Not only do I want to get there on time, but I also want to arrive alive. With my body intact and not thrown on the road somewhere.” Luffy stopped bouncing and instead crossed his arms and pouted. “Hmph! You’re no fun!”

“I’d rather be no fun than dead. And imagine what kind of present would it be for Chopper to find out that we all died because I let you drive.” Sabo started the engine and put his seatbelt on.

“Put on your seatbelt, Luffy. I also don’t want to be pulled over because of you.”
Luffy put on his seatbelt quickly and started to bounce in his seat again. “Come on! Let’s go!” He threw his fist in the air, hitting the roof of the car. Sabo glared at him. “Sorry.” He lowered his arm and laughed.

“The faster we get there, the more setting up we have to do. You do realize that right?” Sabo spoke as he put the car in drive and slowly pulled away from the house. “Putting the food out is part of setting up.” Luffy looked at Sabo like he didn’t know that. “There is no way anyone is letting you be anywhere near  the food.”

“That’s not fair!” Luffy crossed his arms and looked out the window. “You also can’t do much with those stitches on your arm.” Sabo pointed a finger at Luffy’s arm without taking his attention off of the road. “You’ll most likely just have to sit at one of the tables and wait until everyone finishes setting up.”

“That’s so boring!” Luffy turned to Sabo shocked at what he had just said. “It’s not my fault you got stitches. Marco, can you please tell him what’ll happen if he doesn’t take care of his arm.” Sabo looked at Marco in the backseat from the rear view mirror.

Marco turned his head at the mention of his name. “Huh? Oh, of course. If you don’t take care of your arm it can cause an infection, create a big scar, and can heal incorrectly.” Luffy eyes lit up at the word ‘scar’. “I can get a scar! That’s so cool!”

“It’ll create a scar with or without the stitches.” Marco tried to distract Luffy who was now trying to take off his bandage. “In fact, it’ll look even cooler if you leave the stitches.” Marco waved his hands nervously trying to get Luffy to stop. Upon hearing the words ‘even cooler’ Luffy stopped fidgeting with his bandages and looked back at Marco. “Even cooler?! Really!?”

“Of course.” Marco reassured him surprised that he had succeeded in distracting him. “By the way, Luffy, do you mind if I ask who did your stitches?”

“It was Torao. He had really cool tattoos all over his arms!” Luffy smiled brightly at Marco. “Torao? I don’t think we have a Torao at the hospital. Did you guys go somewhere else?” Marco didn’t know if he should be curious about who ‘Torao’ was or concerned about who would name their child ‘Torao’.

“Sabo, didn’t you say his name wasn’t actually Torao?” Ace spoke up from where he was seated next to Marco and looked at Sabo. “Oh yeah. It was Trafalgar.” Sabo looked at Marco from the rear view mirror as he spoke.

“Oh that guy. Everyone knows Trafalgar. No one really talks to him though. It’s not cause he’s a bad guy, he’s just not a very social person. He has a few people that talk to him, but they all seem to annoy him.” Sabo nodded his head as he listened to Marco. “That adds up. No wonder he was in a rush to get rid of Luffy.”

“Torao’s a nice guy! I like Torao! Do you think Torao wants to be friends?” Luffy turned his head to look at Marco. “I can ask him the next time I see him. I’m not sure he’ll respond or even acknowledge me though.”

“That’s okay! As long as Torao knows I want to be friends it’s okay!” Luffy smiled brightly and turned back in his seat. They drove in silence for the rest of the drive with the occasional conversation between Marco and Ace.

———————————

Once they arrived, Sabo turned the engine off, got out of the car, and helped Sunny and Merry get out. Luffy got out of the car cheering and jumping in excitement. Ace and Marco both got out of the car and looked at the bar in front of them.

Sabo looked around the parking lot at the other cars parked there. There was a white Porsche, a blue Ford Ranger, a gray Volkswagen Atlas, and a red Apocalypse Hellfire with the word ‘SUPER’ written on the sides in blue letters. “Looks like not everyone is here yet.” Ace also looked around the parking lot. “It looks so empty here. I’ve never seen it so…abandoned.”

“Come on! Let’s go inside already!” Luffy raced to the front of the bar and pushed the door.

“It’s locked! I thought Jinbe got here early to unlock it!” Luffy continued to push on the door as Sabo, Ace, Marco, and the dogs walked up to the door. “It’s not a push door, Luffy. You have to pull it.” Sabo grabbed the door handle and pulled it open.

Luffy rushed inside and went straight to the bar where Jinbe was wiping the table down. Sabo, Ace, Marco, Sunny, and Merry soon joined Luffy at the bar to greet Jinbe.

“Calm down Luffy, too much movement might break your stitches.” Luffy looked at Sabo in a mocking way and stuck his tongue out at him. A deep laugh caught Luffy’s attention as he turned to look at Jinbe who was apparently laughing at what Ace had said.

Once Jinbe had stopped laughing, he turned to Luffy. “How come you have stitches?” Luffy smiled, glad he had asked him so that he could retell the story. “Ace said I couldn’t skateboard on the stair railing so I proved him wrong.” Luffy’s smile widened.

“That sounds incredibly stupid.” Sanji appeared from the kitchen while wiping his hands as an annoyed Zoro followed close behind him. “How much does he owe you?” Asked the living plant. Luffy beamed brightly, “fifteen dollars!” He exclaimed, extremely proud of the amount of money he had acquired.

“For completing the bet and getting stitches in the process, that has to count as a bonus. Maybe, around…ten extra dollars.” Nami appeared from the storage room holding a small box of decorations. Franky came after her, holding a bigger box of decorations.

“I am not giving Luffy more money just for getting stitches because he fell.” Ace looked at Nami like she was out of her mind.

“Oh! That reminds me!” Luffy smacked his hand on the bar counter and turned to Ace. “You still have to pay me!” Luffy extended his arm towards Ace for his payment.

“You still fell.” Ace grumbled as he pulled out his wallet to hand Luffy his money. “And you never specified the details.” Sabo added helpfully.

Ace slapped a ten and a five dollar bill onto Luffy’s hand before returning his wallet back to his pocket. “Next time, I’ll add a bunch of rules.” Sabo looked at him knowingly. “No you won’t, liar.”

Luffy chuckled as he took the money, stuffing it in his front right pocket. “Where’s everyone else?” Sabo looked at Nami for an answer who just shrugged her shoulders. “They should be here by now.”

“Brook said he was doing something last minute, Usopp wanted to get an extra present for Chopper, and Robin is distracting Chopper as planned.” Franky set down the decorations as he finished speaking. “Koala texted me earlier that she got stuck at work for a few minutes,” Sabo added.

“Looks like we’ll have to do a little extra work before they get here.” Sanji put his hands on his hips as he looked around at the un-decorated bar. “We can’t have Luffy do much either since he just got stitches earlier.” Ace pointed at Luffy who was spinning around on the barstool.

“That’s not very super of you, bro. Why’d you have to go and get stitches?” Luffy stopped spinning to look at Franky and pointed at Ace.

“He told me to do it.” Ace quickly turned to Luffy at the accusation that he had made him hurt himself.

“I said that you couldn’t skateboard on the railing and as the dumb person you are, you went and fell off the railing!” Ace’s sudden outburst caused Sabo, Marco, Jinbe, and Zoro to laugh.

“Can we just get started already? We’re running out of time and we don’t have many people here to help.” Nami pointed at her phone screen that had the time, 2:42 at the top.

“Of course.” Ace and Marco got up from their seats and walked over towards the decorations. “Lay down. Stay.” Sabo set Sunny and Merry’s leashes down and went to go join Ace and Marco.

Sanji grabbed table cloths from a nearby table and extended his arm towards Luffy. “Since you can’t do much, can you at least put the table cloths on the tables?” Luffy jumped up from his seat, excited about the fact that he was being allowed to do something besides sit down.

“You got it!” Luffy took the table cloths from Sanji’s hand and began throwing them on the tables.

“I don’t think he’s doing it right.” Zoro spoke from beside Sanji who was also watching Luffy. “Let him be. It’s one of the only things he can do. You can go fix them later. For now, help me carry the food, Muscle-Head.” Sanji patted Zoro’s arm and walked towards the kitchen. Zoro grumbled but followed Sanji anyway.

“You can hang those up over by the door. Those go under the bar counter. You can hang those across the ceiling but make sure they’re spread apart evenly.” Nami was directing everyone on where to place which decoration when Usopp walked in carrying bags full of presents.

“Finally! You’re here! Set the presents down on the back table.” Nami hugged Usopp and pointed him to the present table.

Usopp set down the presents, put his hands on his hips, and looked around at everyone rushing to finish. “Don’t worry guys! Your savior is here!” Usopp proudly announced his presence and was met with Sunny and Merry looking up but turning away after seeing who it was. No one else paid any mind to him as they were scurrying around in a rush.

“Go fix the table cloths Luffy put on the tables and then hang these up.” Franky handed him a pack of streamers before returning to what he was doing.

Usopp was muttering complaints under his breath as he fixed the table cloths when Koala walked in holding a bundle of balloons in each hand. Sabo went up to her, gave her a quick hug, and got back to decorating.

The balloon bundle in her left hand was graduation themed, while the balloons in her right hand were candy themed. She walked over to Nami who told her how to set up the balloons.

The time was now 3:06 and there was still no Brook.

———————————

It was 3:18 when Sanji and Zoro were setting up the last bit of food on the table and it was also the time that Brook had decided to arrive. He walked in wearing sunglasses, his usual top hat, a feather scarf, a flashy outfit, and an electric guitar hanging from his shoulder. Along with a karaoke machine and multiple instruments next to him.

“The entertainment has arrived!” Brook strummed the guitar in front of him and laughed to himself as everyone stared at him.

“Where the hell have you been?” Sanji set down a bowl of food on the table before turning to Brook. “I was busy getting a karaoke machine. We can’t have a party without entertainment! Yohohohohoho!”

“We don’t need a karaoke machine. That is the least of our worries right now.” Nami crossed her arms as she glared at Brook. Somewhere in the corner sat a disappointed Luffy who was mumbling about wanting to use the karaoke machine.

“Nami, you’re really ruining my fun right now. I went to seven different places just to get this.” Brook pointed at the karaoke machine trying to get Nami to let him have his fun.
“Come on, Nami. Just let the bro do what he wants. What’s the harm in having a karaoke machine?” Nami glared at Franky. How dare he take Brook’s side.

Nami pinched the bridge of her nose as she sighed. “Fine. Keep it. Put it in the corner and whoever wants to use it, can use it.” She pointed at the front right corner of the room and turned to look at everyone else. She waited until Brook was done setting up the karaoke machine and all his instruments before announcing, “Is everyone ready? We have around ten minutes before Robin gets here with Chopper.”

“All the food is ready, Nami-chwan!” Sanji moved aside to present the full table of assorted sweets and regular food. “The decorations look super!” Franky had his hands on his hips as he admired the well decorated bar.

“Um…Nami?” A soft voice came from Brook who had his pointer finger raised. “What is it?” Nami turned to look at Brook who was fidgeting with his hands. “I realized that I wouldn’t have time to go during the party, so I kind of did something. I hope you don’t mind, and if you do mind, it’s kind of too late to go back, so I hope you-“

“Spit it out already!” Nami was tapping her foot on the floor as she waited for what Brook had to say. “Can a guy not build up some suspense!” Brook moved to the side to reveal a little boy wearing a whale shirt, red shorts, and a whale backpack. “Anyways, I brought Laboon. I hope you don’t-“ Brook was once again cut off mid sentence by Nami who was running at Laboon to give him a hug. “Rude! That was completely uncalled for!” Brook got up from the floor rubbing his head with his left hand. “That is a super outfit, little bro!” Franky grinned at Laboon from where he was standing.

Laboon grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pulled on it so that he could see the whale on the left corner. He smiled at Franky with a look of excitement in his eyes. “Really! You really think it’s cool!” To anyone who didn’t know him, he seemed like a kid who just really liked whales. In reality, he loved whales more than anything. There were no words to explain how deeply he cared for the animals.

“I’ve never seen an outfit more super than that!” Franky put his hands on his hips to reassure Laboon that he had the best outfit in the room.

Upon hearing Laboon’s voice, Luffy turned his head towards the little boy and began to run towards him smiling, his arms open for a hug. Everyone else just smiled at the little boy. “Why couldn’t you have just said so to begin with?” Nami got up from hugging Laboon to look at Brook.

“I didn’t know if it was okay to bring him somewhere like this.” Nami put her hands on her hips, “He’s always welcome here. Especially today. I thought you knew that.” Brook just smiled as he looked at Luffy and Laboon laughing together. “He’s gotten happier since we met you guys.” Nami smiled softly hearing his words.

“Hey guys? Robin just texted me saying they just parked outside.” Franky raised his phone in the air and  pointed at the screen. “Everyone get in position!” Everyone scrambled to get in their position upon hearing Nami’s words.

Sabo grabbed Sunny and Merry before joining Luffy, Zoro, Sanji, Ace, Marco, Nami, Laboon, Koala, and Usopp behind the bar counter so that they could jump out to surprise Chopper. Brook stood in the corner with his instruments, getting ready to play a song. Franky and Jinbe stood on either side of the entrance door, holding confetti poppers.

“There wasn’t many cars parked outside. Is the bar losing business?” Chopper was turned around to face Robin as they walked in. “I doubt it.” Robin gave Chopper a reassuring smile as Franky and Jinbe showered him with confetti. A loud “Surprise!” was heard as everyone jumped out from behind the bar. In the background, a violin was being played softly as Brook began to sing Binks’ Sake.

“What’s all this for?” Chopper looked around at everyone. “It’s to congratulate you on graduating!” Nami stood in front of him, smiling brightly.

“Oh, you guys! You didn’t have to do this for me! You big jerks!” Chopper blushed, smiling widely, failing to conceal his gratitude towards his friends.

“Can we eat yet!? I’m starving!” Luffy shouted, receiving a scowl from Sanji who was standing by the food table. “Can you not wait for Chopper?” Chopper waved his hands nervously. “You guys can go ahead and eat. You don’t have to wait for me. Robin got me ice cream and cotton candy earlier.”

“Are you sure?” Sanji asked him while blocking Luffy’s arms from reaching the food. “Yeah, go ahead. I’ll get some in a little bit.” Chopper nodded his head, reassuring Sanji of his answer.

Upon hearing Chopper’s answer, Luffy celebrated. “Let’s eat!” Luffy ducked under Sanji’s arm to evade him and immediately started stuffing his face.

“Save some for the rest of us!” Ace hit Luffy on the head hard enough to stop him eating but soft enough to not hurt him. Luffy rubbed his head with his hand, looking at Ace with a pout on his face. “Ow! That hurt!”

“No it didn’t!” Ace hit Luffy on the head once more. This time, harder than the first. “Now that one definitely did.” Ace turned away from Luffy and began piling food onto his plate.

———————————

After everyone got their share of food, the bar turned into absolute chaos. Not that it wasn’t chaos to begin with, but now it was an uncontrollable nightmare.

Luffy had challenged Usopp to a singing competition at the karaoke machine(Usopp was losing). Zoro was getting drunk with Sanji trying to get him to help clean the dishes in the kitchen (If you know what I mean😏). Ace had fallen asleep on Marco with Sunny next to them on the floor.  Sabo and Koala were at a table talking with Merry laying down under Sabo’s chair. Nami was gossiping with Robin at the bar with Jinbe and Brook contributing their opinion every now and then. Franky was entertaining Laboon and Chopper by showing off his new super cool dance moves.

The party continued like this for a few hours before people started to slowly leave. The first to leave was Brook and Laboon. Since Laboon was still a child, he had school in the morning. Seeing as Brook was the one who brought the karaoke machine and the instruments, he took them with him when he left.

Having the karaoke machine taken from him, Luffy was forced to find something else to do. After looking around the bar for something to do, he decided on going over to talk to Chopper and Franky.

“I’m thinking about applying to nearby hospitals so that I’ll still be able to hang out with you guys.” Chopper was talking to Franky about what he was planning on doing when Luffy joined them. “I went to the hospital today!” Luffy smiled at Chopper, raising his bandaged arm, proud of his injury.

“Which hospital?” Chopper turned to look at Luffy, genuine curiosity in his eyes. “Grand Line Hospital. I met a really cool guy! His name was Torao!” Luffy smiled brightly as he recalled the earlier events of the day. “Did the people look nice there?” A hint of hopefulness was in his eyes as he asked Luffy.

“Yup! There was a bunch of cool nice people! Especially Torao!” Luffy nodded enthusiastically.

“Why don’t you apply to that one then? It sounds super!” Chopper turned to face Franky. “Are you sure they’ll accept me? It’s the best hospital in the area with some of the best workers.” Chopper looked down at his lap, fidgeting with his fingers, questioning his qualifications.

“I’m sure of it, bro!” Franky put his hand on Chopper’s shoulder reassuringly. “You’re the best doctor I know!” Luffy smacked Chopper’s back encouragingly.

“Aw, guys! You don’t have to compliment me you big jerks. It’s not like I’ll apply just from hearing your compliments.” Chopper smiled shyly, scratching the back of his head.

“Hey Chopper, have you opened your presents yet?” Usopp came over and placed his hand on Chopper’s shoulder. “No, I haven’t. Am I supposed to do it now?” Chopper looked at Usopp with a look of curiosity mixed with guilt for not knowing.

“You can do it whenever you like. I just wanted to see your reaction to the present that I got you.” Chopper hopped off of the barstool and started to walk towards his presents. “What did you get me?” Usopp crossed his arms proudly. “You’ll have to see when you open it.”

“I wanna see too!” Luffy ran after Chopper and Usopp towards the present table. “It can’t be more super than what I got you.” Franky had followed them and was now walking behind the three of them.

“We’ll see about that.” Usopp turned to Franky to give him a smug look.

“Which one is yours, Usopp?” Chopper looked back at Usopp and pointed at the table full of presents. “The biggest one, of course.” Usopp closed his eyes, crossed his arms and huffed proudly.

“Um, bro?” Franky tapped Usopp on his shoulder to get his attention. “What? Having trouble admitting that my present is bigger than yours?” Usopp opened his right eye to look at Franky.

“That’s not it at all. My present is the biggest one. Yours is the second biggest.” Usopp opened both of his eyes in disbelief. There was no way he had the second biggest present. Even after he went though the trouble of getting another present last minute in case the first wasn’t enough.

“Just open them already! It doesn’t matter whose is whose! I wanna see what it is!” Luffy threw his fists in the air in anticipation to see what the wrapped boxes had inside.

Chopper nodded and grabbed a medium sized box. He started to tear open the paper and then the box. Luffy watched over his shoulder, jumping up and down in excitement. Chopper pulled out a box with the picture of an iPad on the top. “Woah! That’s so cool!” Luffy stopped jumping to get a better look at Chopper’s new iPad.

Everyone had now gathered behind Chopper to watch him open his gifts. “Who got him that?” Nami pointed at the iPad and looked around at everyone. Ace raised his hand in response. “I got it last minute a few days ago, sorry. But who doesn’t want an iPad?”

“That’s okay! Thank you, anyway.” Chopper looked at Ace and gave him a bright smile. He then grabbed one of the bigger boxes and proceeded to open it.

His eyes lit up once he got the box unwrapped. “A cotton candy machine!?” Chopper and Luffy ran around the box, inspecting the pictures.

“I thought that since you’re always eating cotton candy, you would like to make some yourself.” Chopper looked at Usopp, his eyes were wide with happiness. “Thank you so much! Now I can have some all day!” Chopper ran towards Usopp to give him a tight hug.

“No need to thank me.” Usopp patted Chopper on the back as a smirk formed on his lips.
Once Chopper released Usopp, he went back to opening presents.

He grabbed a big and heavy box and started opening it. As he opened it, he was met with an assortment of medical books. Some were about different medicines, while others were about the history of diseases and illnesses.

“Do you like them?” Robin looked at Chopper, smiling warmly. “I thought you would be interested in learning more about medicine and the history of different diseases since you’re going to be working in a hospital now.”
“I love them! Thank you!” Chopper jumped into Robin’s arms for a hug, earning a soft smile from her. “Your welcome.”

“Open the rest! I wanna see what the others have!” Luffy began jumping again, resisting the urge to open them himself.

Chopper let Robin go and went back to opening presents. This time, he grabbed the biggest one. Upon opening it, he felt nothing but amazement for what was in front of him.

“Woah! This is awesome! How does it work!” Luffy turned to Franky as he and Chopper ran around it, inspecting it and moving its limbs. “Just press the button in the back.” Luffy wasted no time to press the button on the back.

The two foot robot began to move its arms and legs. It’s eyes lit up and it’s mouth moved, saying the word “super!”

“How did you make this!?” Luffy and Chopper looked at Franky with pure admiration in their eyes. “It was pretty simple, bros. I just bought a regular robot from the store and made some adjustments.” Franky put his arms behind his head as he expressed how easy it was to build the robot.

“I could of done that too.” Usopp mumbled under his breath, earning a scoff from Zoro who immediately got softly slapped by Sanji.

“What’s in here!” Luffy had moved on from the robot and  grabbed an envelope, flipping it around in his hands. Chopper grabbed it from him and flipped it to the front. “It says “Brook”.” Chopper opened the envelope and pulled out fifteen concert tickets.

“They’re tickets for Brook’s concert in August.” Nami got closer to Chopper to look at them. “I didn’t know he was already selling them.” Sanji had also started to gravitate towards Chopper.

“He hasn’t. He’s only made a few so far.” Robin’s response made everyone question how she knew about them. Except for Luffy, “Does that mean we have the first ever made tickets for the concert!” Luffy jumped up, his excitement seeping out of him.

“How do you know how many he’s made?” Sabo gave Robin a questioning look from where he was standing.

“He asked me if I thought Chopper would like some.” Robin answered without hesitation. She clearly didn’t mind telling them about their past conversation.

“Thank you, Robin!” Chopper looked at Robin gratefully. “For getting Brook to give me some.” Robin couldn’t help but smile at Chopper. “Don’t thank me. It was Brook’s idea. I just encouraged him to do it.”

“I know but I have to thank someone and Brook isn’t here.” Chopper turned his head back to the tickets in his hands. “There’s fifteen but there’s thirteen people here including me.” Chopper looked back up, scanning the room.

“Maybe he wanted to let us invite other people.” Nami looked at Usopp as she walked towards Chopper. “You might be right, Usopp but, we could sell the extras.” She grabbed two of the tickets and held them up.

“You can add another ticket to that.” Jinbe spoke up from behind the bar counter. “I’m not a big concert person.” Koala nodded. “You can add mine to that too. I’ll be out of state on the day of the concert. As much as I’d love to go, I can’t.”

Nami grabbed two extra tickets from Chopper to add to the previous two. “That’s four tickets. We can sell them for almost triple the price since none have been released to the public yet.” Nami’s eyes had a look of greed in them as she looked at the tickets.

“Would people even buy them? They might just think they’re fakes.” Nami glared at Ace as if he had just robbed her of a promising future.

“Would Brook want us to give them away? I mean, he went through the trouble of getting them for us. Is it really the right thing to do?” Usopp looked at Nami cautiously. Trying not to cause her to yell at him for even suggesting such a thing.

“Is everyone against me?” Nami felt slightly betrayed but she expected it. “Except you, Sanji. I know you’re not capable of that.” Nami pointed at Sanji who was about to speak, his mouth partially open.

“Actually, Nami dear, I hope you don’t mind but I sort of agree with everyone else.” Sanji spoke, his voice was not as confident as usual. He couldn’t believe he was going against Nami.

Now Nami felt truly betrayed. He was usually always behind Nami in every decision she made. There was not a single time when Sanji did not support her. “Fine. Have it your way. But when you guys are poor with no money, don’t come asking if I still have the tickets to sell. Cause I don’t!” She handed the tickets to the closest person to her, which happened to be Sanji before she went to the bar counter and took a seat, rambling about money.

“Do you mind if I take the extras? I can ask Yamato if he wants to go with some of his friends.” Sanji extended his arm out to Ace, handing him the tickets. “I don’t mind. Go ahead.” Ace smiled gratefully as he received the tickets from Sanji. “Thanks.”

“Now that that’s solved, go ahead and open the rest, Chopper.” Robin nodded towards the rest of the presents, urging Chopper to continue.

“Okay but let me pass these out first.” Chopper raised his hand that was holding the tickets towards Robin and handed her one of them.

He passed them all out, one to everyone besides Jinbe and Koala. “You can just give me Luffy’s. He’ll lose it if I don’t take care of it for him.” Sabo held his ticket in one hand and had his other extended towards Chopper for Luffy’s ticket.

“I don’t need you to take care of it! I can take care of it myself! I’ll make sure that it doesn’t get a single scratch! Promise!” Sabo sighed as he retracted his arm back to his side. “Fine. But if you lose it, you’re not going.” Chopper handed the last ticket to Luffy, keeping the other for himself.

“And don’t even think about using one of the extras if you lose it.” Luffy was about to speak but was cut off by Sabo knowing exactly what he was going to say. “That’s not fair.” Luffy mumbled under his breath, tucking the ticket in his shorts pocket.

“You promised you wouldn’t lose it.” Luffy stuck his tongue out at Sabo in a mocking way and pouted, crossing his arms in front of his chest. “Meanie.”

———————————

Chopper had finished opening his presents and was now playing with Luffy, Usopp, and the robot.

He had gotten chocolate chip cookies from Sanji, an engraved stethoscope that said “Dr. Chopper” from Zoro (Sanji told him), video games from Jinbe, a Lego hospital from Nami, a bracelet that grants courage from Marco (he just needs to believe in himself), night vision goggles from Sabo, and multiple bags of candy from Koala.

Now that opening presents was over, everyone had gone back to what they were doing. Zoro getting drunk and getting pulled by the ear into the kitchen by an angry Sanji, Robin gossiping with Franky and Jinbe, Sabo and Koala talking with Ace and Marco, and Nami still complaining about the money she could of gotten.

———————————

It was around 10:30 when Nami left saying that she had to do something early in the morning. Usopp left saying the same thing as Nami (he needs beauty sleep). After Usopp left, it was just Luffy and Chopper playing with Chopper’s presents. They had moved on from the robot and were now watching 5-minute crafts on Chopper’s iPad.

Since mostly everyone had left, they began to clean up. Except for Luffy and Chopper. If it wasn’t for Luffy’s stitches, Sabo would’ve forced Luffy to help.

Sanji and Zoro washed the dishes in the kitchen, Sabo and Koala sweeped the floor, Jinbe wiped down the bar counter, Ace and Marco cleaned the tables, while Robin and Franky cleaned up the trash from the presents.

Once they finished, they decided to all leave at the same time. Jinbe locked up the door while everyone stood outside talking.

Once they had all said their goodbyes, they started to walk towards their cars. Franky, Jinbe, and Koala walked alone to their cars while everyone else walked with another person or in a group. Robin took Chopper in her car, Sanji and Zoro put the empty food dishes in the back before leaving, while Sabo put Sunny and Merry in the back as everyone got in.

Once Sabo got in the car he turned to Luffy. “Do you still have the ticket?” Luffy dug around in his pocket until he pulled out the ticket with a huge smile on his face. “Yup!”

“Good. Now put your seatbelt on.” Sabo turned away from Luffy and started the engine. “Hey, Luffy.” Ace tapped Luffy on the shoulder to get his attention. “I bet you ten dollars that you can’t keep the ticket in perfect condition.” Ace smirked as Luffy just smiled.

“Deal! I’ll keep this ticket in perfect condition and then you’ll owe me more money!”
Sabo sighed at their stupidity while Marco just laughed. “Yeah right! You can’t keep anything in perfect condition!”

“You won’t be saying the same thing when he beats you.” Sabo kept his eyes on the road as he spoke to Ace. “Once he has a task, he can’t help but complete it. Especially when it benefits him.” Ace just scoffed at Sabo’s comment, crossing his arms.

“Don’t say I didn’t warn you when you complain about going broke from owing Luffy money.” Luffy smiled brightly at Ace, waving around the ticket in his hand.

“Whatever. There’s no way he can win this time.” Marco gave Ace a reassuring pat on his arm, earning a glare from Ace. “You too?”

“Sorry.” Marco’s reply was simple but Ace could tell there was sincerity in it. Ace just wrapped his arms around Sunny and Merry, grumbling about how there was no possibility that Luffy could win.

———————————

Once they got home, Sabo parked his car and made Ace help get Sunny and Merry out. Luffy darted up the front steps, and threw his fists in the air, saying that he beat everyone to the door. Marco got out of the car and joined Sabo and Ace on their walk towards the door.
Sabo grabbed the key from his pocket and unlocked the door. Luffy rushed in, heading straight for the fridge, saying he had been starved. Sabo and Ace took off Sunny and Merry’s harnesses before getting ready for bed. Marco joined Ace as he walked towards his room, Sabo raised his eyebrow and smirked at Ace.

Luffy continued to eat in the kitchen until the bowl was empty. Once he finished, he went towards the bathroom and brushed his teeth before heading towards his room.

He walked towards his bed and threw himself on top of it. He rolled on his back as he dug around in his pocket in search of the ticket. He held it up in the air as he stared at it. The light from the moon let Luffy look at the ticket clearly.

He set the ticket down on his nightstand and stared at it from where he lay on his bed. He was going to win no matter what it took to keep the ticket safe. With that, Luffy closed his eyes and began to drift off to sleep slowly.

He dreamt of showing the ticket to Ace on the day of the concert as he was forced to give Luffy money. Just the thought of proving Ace wrong and winning, put a smile on his face.
