"White Crow of ZOO RANGERS has seemingly been recruited by the notorious Instant Boss! Just what will happen next? Stay tuned—"
The television clicked off as Kanade chuckled, leaning into her lovers side.
"They're so oblivious, aren't they?"
She cooed, leaning up to kiss Mafuyu's jaw. The girl in question hummed, leaning down to meet Kanade's lips with her own. They were huddled in Kanade's cramped apartment, on her rundown couch, watching her rundown television.
It was small, quite humble compared to Mafuyu's own house, but it was a home. It was messy and dirty and barely held together, but it was comfortable.
Seemingly it didn't matter how many times Mafuyu tried to give Kanade money, give her a chance to live somewhere with working air conditioning and heating, a chance to live in a functional home, but the villain consistently refused.
To Mafuyu, it honestly made her quite sad. Seeing Kanade so willing to live with the bare minimum— perhaps even worse than that, just for the sake of her team having enough money to support themselves.
But Kanade never asked for more; she vehemently refused to take more. She was selfless like that. Just as she always had been.
The night she'd taken Mafuyu in, the hero's uniform was stained in blood and her eyes were empty with the realization she had nowhere else to go. Kanade had given her the last cup noodles in the entire apartment and let her sleep on her ratty mattress with the thinnest blanket Mafuyu had ever felt, and yet it was the warmest her chest had ever been.
The villain had kissed her head gently after bandaging her wounds and tucking her in, murmuring a soft "It's okay, you're safe here," before Mafuyu drifted to sleep.
She'd woken up the next morning to see Kanade curled up on the worn couch, discomfort clear in her unconscious expression from the uncomfortable sleeping position, realizing that this infamous villain had given up her own bed for her nemesis.
Now they were sat on that same couch, patched together shabbily by none other than Mafuyu herself.
"Hm. I don't care, as long as they leave us alone."
Mafuyu mumbled, moving to kiss Kanade's head softly.
She'd taken the liberty of paying to have Kanade's air conditioning fixed, and buying her a proper mattress and blankets after finding Kanade curled up under her paper thin blankets during last winter; it was so cold out that there was a national weather service warning, and Kanade had nearly let herself freeze.
"I guess that's true, though I wish the public was more welcoming of our relationship."
"Who cares what they think. All that matters is our happiness."
She leaned further into Kanade, before pushing her down onto the couch and hovering over her. Immediately, Kanade's face blazed a bright crimson, staring up at Mafuyu in bewilderment.
"I want a kiss, surely the notorious Charisma Boss will give me one?"
Her hands resided on either side of Kanade's head, trapping the villainess into staring up at her blank faced lover. Meekly, she mustered a nod as Mafuyu's face came closer.
"Good."
Their lips connected in a gentle, warm kiss. Kanade's arms came up around her neck, pulling her closer as Mafuyu hummed into her lips.
Soon the need for air forced them apart, Kanade smiling as she pet Mafuyu's hair.
"For being a hero named White Crow, you're rather affectionate like a bunny— ow, ow!"
Mafuyu pinched her lover's cheek, expression not as amused. Kanade whined, looking at her pitifully until Mafuyu gracefully let go.
"Movie night?"
"Hm. Only if you promise cuddles."
"Hehe, I promise."
