Remus was in his classroom, getting ready for the seventh years to come in. They were always his lesson of the day on a Friday, but as he was, he heard the voice of a certain seventh year.
“Professor Lupin! Professor Lupin!”
Remus turned his head to the door of his classroom to see the young Sirius Black “What is it, Mr Black?”
Sirius came into the classroom “I was wondering if there was a way we could have a much funnier lesson today? I mean, yes, these lessons are important for our Newts, but I am just so bored of going over the things we have already or whatever!”
Remus sighs a bit, knowing this was coming “Mr Black, I know you are bored with these lessons, but they are needed. Also, I cannot go off the lesson plan, all because one student asked me.”
Sirius was annoyed by Remus’ response, “Professor pleaseeeee!”
Remus shakes his head “Maybe at the end of term, Mr Black maybe.”
Sirius was happy about that “Okay! Thank you, Professor Lupin! I will see you this afternoon for the lesson!”
Remus saw Sirius go out of the classroom and run down the halls. Remus couldn’t help but smile a bit and shake his head at the young man and his antics.
Later on in the day, as Remus was in the courtyard reading a book, he normally sat on one of the walls for his legs, mostly so he could prop up his cane. At some point, as he was reading, he looked up to see Sirius and his friends walking and talking. Remus sighs a bit before he puts his head back down to read more of his book.
When the day was over and the Defence of the Dark Arts lesson with the seventh years was done, Remus was in his office doing some marking when he heard a knock on the door, making him confused about who was at the door.
“Come in!”
The person who opened up the door was Sirius, and Remus was surprised to see him at this hour.
“Mr Black, what are you doing here at my office at this time?”
Sirius laughs a bit nervously, “Sorry, Professor, but I was wondering if you knew how to get rid of something…”
Remus raises an eyebrow “Why not go to Professor McGonagall or Professor Snape?”
Sirius sighs a bit, “Because I don’t want to get in trouble for the 100th time with McGonagall and Snape is a dingbat.”
Remus was not happy with what Sirius called Snape, “Mr Black, please don’t call Professor Snape even if he is one.”
Sirius laughs a bit, but he would finally show Remus what it was, so Sirius put it on his desk, and Remus’ eyes widened.
Remus looks at Sirius, “How did you get a baby dragon?!”
Sirius laughs a bit “Well, Professor, you see me and my friends were outside and we saw an egg, not knowing what it was, we took it back to our dorms and once it catch, we saw it was a baby dragon and the guys decided to have me deal with it…”
Remus' eyes farrow at Sirius’ response, “Why did you not go to Hagrid?”
Sirius trying not to look at Remus “Because I got attached to the dragon…”
Remus blinks for a couple of minutes at Sirius, not understanding how someone like him could be attached to a small baby dragon. It took him a bit to process this whole thing.
When Remus was able to process all of this, he looked at Sirius “Alright, Mr Black, I might know someone, but you have to let me deal with this and keep this between me and you’re friends, you must not tell anyone, baby dragon, else about this. Alright?”
Sirius was happy to hear that from Remus, “Yes, Professor, thank you.”
Remus slowly got the baby dragon into his arm then got up from his chair making sure the dragon was alright he put it into a bag which was safe enough for the dragon Sirius watched Remus do this and noticed the limp his leg he wanted to say something, but decided to something the young boy didn’t want to offend Remus and the rumours of him most likely being a werewolf or something he didn’t believe them he couldn’t help but be reminded of those rumours in this moment in time.
Once that was done Remus would let Sirius leave his office and so that is what he did he left Remus’ office and went back to his dorm while Remus sighs a bit thinking of what to do with this baby dragon because it was clear these boys did not think any of this through when they saw the baby dragon’s egg.
For the next few days or so Remus would send letters to people that he knew with how to do with this dragon and everywhere he went for help no one gave him any help it was driving him crazy and not helping at all ontop of this he was still doing all of this through his breaks when he was meant to be doing other things, so this wasn’t helping. One day, he was finally able to sort out the dragon situation when he sent a letter to someone who dealt with dragons well, and this made Remus happy, so he went to the person to give the dragon to.
Once the baby dragon was gone, Remus decided to ask Sirius to come into his office the next day after lesson, and Sirius came. He took a seat in the office.
“Professor, is this about the dragon?”
Remus knew Sirius was going to ask, “Yes, it is, and I can tell you I have dealt with it and was able to give the dragon a new home.”
Sirius was happy to hear that and got up from the chair “That is amazing! Thank you, Professor!”
Remus smiles happily and gets up from his chair himself, and he goes over to Sirius in his excitement. Remus went over to Sirius, kissed his Professor on the lips, and this took Remus aback.
Sirius quickly pulls back “I’m so sorry! I didn’t m-.”
Remus cuts Sirius off, “You can leave my office now, Mr Black.”
Sirius was about to protest but Remus gave him a look that he knew well enough, so Sirius nods his head and leaves Remus’ office the older one sits in his office trying to understand all of this when deep down himself he had feelings for his student he loved Sirius, but knew it would be bad for his career so shoved them as down as he could and forget that moment between the two.
