    Viktor Dvořák is eighteen, an artist, a high school senior, and, until recently, a fixture in the halls of his city’s art museum. He spends his after-school hours sketching in front of Soviet modernist works and trying not to think too hard about the future.

    Then the new curator arrives.
    Jayce Talis is older, charming, and far too interested in Viktor’s mind and, of course, his hands.

    It’s just a crush. That's what Viktor tells himself over and over and over as the dozens of sketches of Jayce begin to stare up at him from his notebook after their first encounter.

    Viktor is leaving for Paris in the fall.
    Nothing about this should matter.
