Rumi and Jinu haven’t had any interaction in a long time. He’s out of the military now. So… what’s the excuse.

Hi everyone. Longtime lurker, first-time poster, and I come in peace... sort of. I’m here with what I believe is a respectful, non-deranged inquiry:
Did Rumi and Jinu sign a mutual restraining order or something? They haven’t even breathed near each other in years.
Yes, I know Jinu enlisted. I was there. We all cried. We all watched the blurry fan video of Rumi allegedly attending the send-off in sunglasses and a bucket hat like she was entering the Witness Protection Program.
But—and I say this very gently—that was like TWENTY FIVE (I'm not good with numbers, someone confirm) months ago. And Jinu was officially discharged from service ten days ago. In that time:
- Rumi promoted two dramas, hosted an awards show, and allegedly got bangs
- Jinu posted a photo of grilled chicken, one selfie, and a handwritten note that somehow managed to thank everyone except one person whose name rhymes with Sumi
- And most importantly, they have still not interacted. Not a like. Not a comment. Nothing
- The infamous “accidental” couple’s vacation that neither of them ever explained
- The time Rumi posted a photo wearing his hoodie, deleted it, and then Jinu posted a photo in the same hoodie the next day with the caption “it’s mine again :)”
- What happened?
- Who is sadder?
- Can they still co-star in the sequel to that movie or is it officially off the table?
- And are we allowed to be heartbroken or do we all have to pretend we didn’t spend two years emotionally investing in their potential secret situationship?
Before anyone says “they’re just private,” let’s all take a breath and recall:
Anyway. I’m not saying they broke up. I’m just saying if they did, it would explain the sudden frostiness, the archived posts, the emotional tension during their last press tour, and the fact that she unfollowed his private account.
In conclusion, I am merely a civilian asking questions. And those questions are:
TL;DR: Jinu’s back from the mandatory military service, Rumi’s ignoring him, and she unfollowed his private account. Something happened and I’m nosy.

In the present day, Jinwon encounters a woman who is a stranger and yet eerily familiar. What he cannot know is that she is the reincarnation of his lost queen, her soul returned to the world bearing memories she cannot explain and a longing she has never been able to name.
As past and present begin to blur, Sanctuary becomes a story of soulmates and the unbearable beauty of a love that defies time, death, and even memory itself. Jinwon may have turned away from the truth, but fate has brought it back to him in human form.
If confirmed, Rumi will play both the royal queen and her modern counterpart, bringing emotional depth to this mythic tale.
Sanctuary will also feature an original soundtrack by award-winning artist Zoey, whose previous OSTs have been praised for their emotional depth and cinematic scale. The title track, written and performed by Zoey herself, is expected to capture the aching lyricism of a love that endures, even when destiny stands in the way.
Filming starts later this year, with a premiere set for early 2026 on a major streaming platform. If Rumi joins, it’ll be their first reunion since their award-winning film two years ago and a popular brand campaign that sparked on-screen chemistry rumors.

Areum turns, her hand reaches for him. He doesn't take it.
FLASH OF LIGHT - TRANSITION TO:
EXT. SIDE STREET - NIGHT - RAIN
Rain lashes the pavement, streetlights blur in the downpour.
ARA (PRESENT) stands alone in the middle of the street, drenched. Her hair sticks to her cheeks, her coat clings to her body. Then she turns.
JINWON is behind her. They stare at each other across a few feet or rain-slick asphalt.
ARA
Say something. Anything!
(her voice breaks)
You ran before. Don't do it again.
JINWON
(quietly)
You don't know me.
ARA
(walks closer, starts shouting)
I remember falling in love with you.
(beat)
I remember the sound of your voice.
She falters, her voice breaks. For a second, she looks like she might reach for him. But her hand drops.
ARA (CONT'D)
I see you. And something in me just aches. And now-
(gestures at the space between them)
You won't even look at me.
Jinwon lifts his gaze. Eyes dark, unreadable.
JINWON
Let's go. You'll get sick.
He raises his hands, trying to shield Ara from the rain.
His palms hover awkwardly near her head, useless against the downpour.
ARA
Talk to me. I deserve to know.
JINWON
I already buried you in the part of me that still knew how to feel.
ARA
(sharper)
Then dig me up.
You were the one who left.
I never asked for peace without you.
JINWON
I thought I was saving you.
ARA
You called yourself a monster.
But you were just a man.
She exhales like it hurts to say it. Her eyes search his face.
ARA (CONT'D)
(to herself)
And I loved you anyway.
JINWON
You deserved peace, you still do.
A better ending than me.
ARA
You didn't even let me choose.
(shaking her head)
You didn't even say goodbye.

(closes his eyes and inhales)

Acclaimed actress Rumi has officially joined the cast of the upcoming fantasy-romance series We Were Liars, taking on a deeply emotional dual role in what promises to be one of the most captivating dramas of the year.
