   Summary

   Mira loved Ciel. She had loved him since before waking up in his mansion, even before hearing his voice for the first time, or feeling the threat of his demon lurking.

   It was a painful and addictive love, like the first breath of air after nearly drowning: vital, sweet... and heartbreaking.

   Mira didn't know a life without Ciel. Her love had been born when he was just a drawing on her screen, and had grown to become everything she was. She just wanted to stay by his side, to protect him from the cruel fate she knew all too well. It was her deepest wish, even if it cost her own life.

   Even if he never asked her to.

   Ciel knew Mira loved him. He could see it in her eyes, in her silent devotion, in the way she stayed by his side without expecting anything, as if he were her reason for existing.

   He didn't remember when he started needing it.

   But now she was his. His in a way he hadn't thought to share. His like an old wound: always present, always open, but impossible to let go

   And he wasn't going to let anyone—not even herself—take it away from her.
