If All Else Fails Meet Me At Our Spot

Summary:

Long ago, the four high schools played together in harmony. Then, everything changed when the Fyre Academy attacked. Only someone strong enough, in more ways than one, could stop them, but when the schools needed that player the most, they vanished. 20 years passed and my brother and I met someone who had a fighting chance, a St Yangchens Bison named Aang. And although his defensive skills are great, he has a lot to learn before he's ready to win anything. But I believe Aang can win the cup.

Chapter 1: Prolouge

Chapter Text

Long ago, the four schools in the district co-existed in relative harmony. Then, everything changed when Fyre Academy got a new principle. Principle Sozin. He was ambitious, far too ambitious for an educator. Sozin wanted greatness for the Academy and used the soccer team like puppets. He reformed their famed offensive tactics to pure aggression. Principle Sozin aimed to dominate the playing field, and he wanted Fyre Academy to go national, for glory, fame, and most importantly, money. It was a badly kept secret that the district gives more funding to the more victorious team, and my was the Fyre Academy victorious. For the past 20 years they've won the Elemental trophy, leaving them in a better position to ask for more unnecessary funding from the district, giving their students an unfair advantage. However, to get to nationals, the Dragons - the Fyre Academy soccer team - needed to win the regional championship. So Sozin did what he did best. Cheat. He encouraged players to make foul tackles, paid off referees, and poached good players with scary insistence. Sozin targeted the Bisons, St Yangchens soccer team first. They quickly kicked them out of the league every year with their heavy offensive and the Bisons heavy defensive. Their players were getting injured and no one wanted to sign up for a team that always loses. Numbers went down, along with support. Soon, seeing a Bison became rarer, and the Monastery withdrew from the league. For the past 20 years Fyre Academy have dominated the game, and anyone who dares to challenge their throne gets a mysterious injury or a transfer application.

But now, in the present day, there's a promising young group of teenagers who are determined to be the first mixed-school team to lift the Elemental cup before the Fyre Academy can mark another year of unjust victory. But the Academy won't relinquish their title so quickly, and will do anything to keep it...
