With her hands on her hips, Mary stared out to the sunrise from her and Lily’s beach house balcony, and declared, “This. Is the perfect day to sail a boat.”
“Huh?” Lily uttered, rubbing the sleep still clinging to her eyes as she trudged to a halt next to Mary, frowning with a crease between her cute ginger eyebrows as she took in the view. “Boat day? This?” She gestured with an arm weighted by lethargy.
Mary smiled, pressing two fingers to the adorable furrow of Lily’s brow, smoothing out the skin. Still massaging Lily’s forehead, she murmured, “I want to sail a boat with you into the horizon and travel the whole world with you right next to me because I don’t want to have any new experiences if you’re not there.”
Lily patted Mary’s cheek with a yawn, “I barely understood any of that. I love you. I need some coffee.” She stumbled back inside, and Mary snorted fondly.
After Lily had perked up, they were definitely trying out the sailing course.
