"I'll never get used to sleeping on the ground."
They'd been on a hunting trip for the past few days, travelling from their ranch in Big Valley down to the village of Strawberry, spending a night in the woods. The land around the ranch was plentiful with elk, but they wanted something different. And it would be nice to just get away from the others for a couple of days. Their next stop was Valentine.
"Just you wait; tomorrow night we'll have four walls, a warm crackling fire-" John traced his fingertips across Smitty's cheek, under his jaw before resting them on his lips. "-and a nice, slightly uncomfortable bed."
Smitty smiled up at him softly. "Can't wait."
John drew in his bottom lip, letting out a low groan. "And I can't wait to ravage you."
"Why not now?" the man beneath him batted his eyelashes at him, making John smile softly.
"A bed is preferable. Plus, the horses are watching."
Turning his head to look over to the four-legged animals hitched to a nearby tree, Smitty laughed. "No, they're not. You're being silly."
"Alright, fine. But I'd still like to fuck you in a bed."
Smitty gasped incredulously. "John!"
