Chapter 1: OC introduction/Summary
Chapter Text
List of the original characters present in this story:
Clover (He/They): "Z-218", also known as "The Warren" and "Clover". Clover is described as a humanoid Deep Sea Bunny who is the leader of the Deep Sea Bunny trading system seen in Pressure. Unfortunately, Clover used to work for Urbanshade as a DNA Specialist who collects DNA for Urbanshade to use in their experiments. Clover had found out about the experiments and tried to release it to the public but was captured and held captive. He was experimented on with jellyfish DNA to make him forget what he saw which resulted in Clover losing almost all of his memory. He was eventually subjected to another experiment where he was forced to reproduce Deep Sea Bunny offspring due to Urbanshade's past mistake with them. Clover suffered from internal bleeding from the first few failed attempted before finally managing to have the eggs form. After giving birth/waiting for eggs to hatch, the Deep Sea Bunnies were taken away from Clover and he was sent down to be forgotten. He is currently 29 years old.
Blue (He/They): "Z-247", also known as "Blue". Blue is described to be a lesser humanoid Deep Sea Bunny with 5 other DNAs (a starfish, bioluminescent algae, a blue ring octopus, a electric eel, and a shortfin Mako shark). Blue also used to work for Urbanshade as a Marine Biologist who would study the different creatures that were sent to the facility. Eventually, found out why exactly Urbanshade needed the research of the sea creatures (the experiments). Blue began to secretly release the creatures into open waters before they were experimented on, however was cornered and captured when they were rescuing the (original) Deep Sea Bunnies. They forced Blue to watch them experiment on the Deep Sea Bunnies, ultimately killing them in the process. Killing the Deep Sea Bunnies wasn't supposed to happen so they came up with the idea to use Blue as an incubator to make more. After months of trying, the Deep Sea Bunny eggs wouldn't survive past the 2 weeks after reproduction. Eventually, the scientists at Urbanshade would use the DNA of other creatures to heal Blue's internal scarring then send him away since he was deemed a "failure". He is currently 28 years old.
Rosetta (She/They): "Z-VH06", also known as "Human Void", "Rosetta", and "Rose". Rosetta used to work as a janitor for a college, being a huge support for the students and staff. One day, she found out that a staff member (a professor) was trying to sexually harass a student on campus via witnesses. She saw every student as her children, so something snapped inside of her. She confronted the professor about it, they were complaining that the student should've "covered up more". Rosetta came up with a plan to get rid of this staff member. One night, Rosetta found the professor and knocked them out with a broom before dragging them to the custodial closet and tying them up. When they woke up, Rosetta was already forcing them to drink a mixture of cleaning chemicals as punishment for sexual harassment. The professor ultimately died in the custodial closet and Rosetta began to hide the evidence by burning the body off campus. She was eventually caugh via cameras and was put on trial where she plead guilty. Rosetta was prepared to die, however Urbanshade "rescued" her by giving her a job as an expendable. Rosetta was close to getting the crystal out of the Blacksite before she entered a void locker, trying to hide from an angler. However, the void didn't kill her but latched onto and fused with her body. Urbanshade found it interesting that a human could live with a void attached to their body, but they noticed that she was paranoid and hearing voices. Rosetta was eventually sent back down to the Blacksite since she was a "danger to society". She is currently 32 years old.
Romeo (He/Him): "Z-11", also known as "Romeo". There is little information about this entity. The only known fact is that him and Sebastian Solace were experimented around the same time. This is the main reason why Romeo treats Sebastian like a younger brother. Romeo had helped Sebastian out with the riot and eventually causing Urbanshade to lose a bunch of research. He usually hides in the larger vents around the Blacksite, watching over the expendables and the other entities living in the Blacksite. His age is unknown. (This will be edited later).
Chapter Text
One day. Why couldn't he have ONE DAY where nothing would disturb his peace?
Sebastian was scavenging the halls, looking for dead expendables to take their supplies to resell. Well, that was the plan... Every time he found an expendable on the floor or in a locker, no items were found. At first, he thought nothing of it; most expendables were stupid to try the challenges of going on without lights, but after the 7th expendable not having any sort of items for him to take, Sebastian became irritable.
The large fish leaned against the wall of his shop, letting out a heavy sigh. He ran his hand through his hair to relieve some sort of built up stress inside of him as he looked at his pitiful stash of items he had already. Just some dead flashlights, some code breachers and an unopened medkit. His head was pounding at the frustration headache he got from the lack of luck he got on today's scavenge. His ears perked up as the noise of his walkie talkie turning on echoed through the room. Sebastian half expected Painter to say something, hopefully about expendables dying at some place. However...
"Hey loser, mind helping me out with something?", Of course, Romeo of all people.
Sebastian covered his face with his hands, muffling his annoyed groan at Romeo's question. He contemplated about replying, knowing it was going to be another risky task to do. On the other hand, it would be better to do something than mope around in his shop. Sebastian grabbed the walkie talkie and pressed the button to speak.
"Fine, but you know what I want in return," Sebastian answered, a warning being hidden in the words he replied with.
"Yeah, yeah, alright. Just meet me down at the maintenance tunnels," Romeo replied before the light on the device turned off.
Sebastian placed down the walkie talkie before slithering out of his shop to meet his "brother". As he went down the halls, taking every shortcut he could find, Sebastian kept thinking about who or what has been taking all the supplies from expendables before he could. No one else bothered taking supplies for years, so why now? Who or what exactly was taking supplies that were his from the start?
Sebastian made his way to the maintenance tunnels to find a impatient Romeo standing there with his arms crossed.
"Took you long enough, c'mon. This is important," Romeo claimed, not letting Sebastian get a word in before moving forward.
Sebastian sighed heavily before following Romeo to wherever he was taking him. Romeo was always such a mystery to Sebastian, always secretive, an odd one he was. After what seemed like hours of traveling door after door, Romeo finally came to a stop as Sebastian crashed into him from the sudden lack of movement. Sebastian let out an annoyed growl as he leaned slightly to see what Romeo was staring at.
It was a pile of rubble from the ceiling collapsing and an unfortunate soul being trapped underneath the broken material. Rosetta was struggling to lift up the rubble with the help from Void's tentacles. Rosetta looked up at Sebastian and Romeo in shock before her expression changed to anger.
"I could use a little help here!" Rosetta shouted. She paused for a second before shouting again but more to herself than the other two, "Yes we need help, stop being stubborn!"
Sebastian and Romeo exchanged glances at each other, thinking that Rosetta was going crazy since she was talking to herself again.
"STOP STANDING THERE AND HELP!" Rosetta screamed, throwing a small piece at the two of the larger creatures.
"Alright, alright! Just hold still, Rose," Romeo replied as him and Sebastian got closer to help out.
Sebastian was using his strength to push away the larger pieces as Romeo was trying to pull Rosetta out. It was a long process of removing, pushing and pulling, yet they managed to pull the humanoid void out from the rubble. Rosetta let out a deep sigh of relief as she laid on the cold, metal floor of the room. All she could let out was a lazy mutter that sounded like a "thank you", but they couldn't tell. Sebastian sighed before turning to Romeo.
"So, about my end of the deal..." Sebastian mentioned, crossing his arms as his third hand rests on his hip.
Romeo nodded before turning to Rosetta who was still on the floor, "Rose, do you know where that expendable was? That you killed?"
"Uhm.. I think it was in Heavy Containment...? Door 42...?" Rosetta answered, still out of breath.
Rosetta stood up finally, telling the two larger creatures to follow her so Sebastian could get his little "reward". Sebastian followed behind as Rosetta and Romeo were talking and complaining about the expendables that recently came down. Sebastian was lost in thought as he followed the other two, hoping that this would be his chance to grab some supplies for his shop.
As the three of them reached Heavy Containment, Rosetta led them to the locker that held the expendable, however the locker was opened with the expendable on the floor and the items already gone. All was left were some batteries.
"That's... strange," Rosetta muttered, looking around the area to find any sort of items. "I swear they died not even a minute ago, how are all of their items gone?"
"That is pretty odd, what do you think Seb-" Romeo was cut off by the sound of one of the metal lockers breaking.
Rosetta and Romeo looked at the source of the sound, seeing Sebastian with the side of his fist on the broken locker door. His pupils were small as the sclera was darkened. His breath was heavy and a little shaken. Romeo moved closer as slow as possible, reaching a hand to place on Sebastian's shoulder.
"Hey, c'mon. We can still find more out there for you," Romeo said, his voice barely above a whisper.
Sebastian glanced up at Romeo, his body tensed from the anger boiling inside of him. "I've spent WEEKS, trying to find something in this hell hole! Every expendable I find, their stuff is GONE. HOW CAN MY BUSNIESS THRIVE IF I HAVE NOTHING TO SELL?!" Sebastian yelled, taking both main hands and tossing the broken locker to the side with extreme force.
Rosetta immediately ran to the broken locker, looking inside to make sure no void variant was inside. "My locker..."
"How about this, Rosetta and I will be on look out for whoever is taking the items and I'll call you on the walkie talkie, sound good?" Romeo explain, finally placing his hand on Sebastian's shoulder.
Sebastian sighed as his eyes went back to the normal blue, not sparing a glance towards Romeo. "Fine..."
"And you better fix this locker too! You're lucky no void was in here!" Rosetta shouted as one of Void's tentacles wrapped around her arms like it was giving her a hug.
"Sorry about that. Just leave it there and I'll fix it later," Sebastian replied before moving towards the exit of the room.
Rosetta and Romeo watched Sebastian slither away, his form disappearing into the dark halls. Romeo picked up Rosetta with his tail to get her away from the broken locker so she wouldn't hurt herself.
"C'mon, let's keep an eye out for whoever's taking these items," Romeo spoke, placing Rosetta on his shoulder and slithering out of Heavy Containment.
"Well, Sebastian better keep his promise about fixing that locker, otherwise I'm not looking out for shit," Rosetta replied, crossing her arms.
Sebastian made it back to his shop, feeling his anger turn into exhaustion. He slumped back against the wall, his head pounding with pain. He never thought he would have competition for taking items if you could call it that. Sebastian closed his eyes, finally letting himself be taken over by the exhaustion. However this rest would only last a few seconds. Sebastian's eyes opened immediately as he heard the sound of someone crawling in the vents growing louder. However, no expendables were supposed to here, not at this time...
Suddenly, a humanoid Deep Sea Bunny crawled on followed by an actual red and black Deep Sea Bunny. Sebastian took a moment to comprehend who wandered in, but once the realization hit, he let out an annoyed sigh.
"Blue. What brings you in?" Sebastian asked, hoping Blue would just grab something and leave immediately.
"You know what I'm here for. Besides, I heard you were dealing with some sort of issue," Blue replied, taking the medkit Sebastian had and opening it to make sure everything was inside.
Sebastian immediately took the medkit back and reaching out his third hand like he wanted something in return. "You know the drill."
Blue groaned and began to take out some research out of his pocket. "You and your research... It's so odd," Blue placed the research in Sebastian's hand and taking the medkit back.
"Uh huh, well enough about that. What was this 'issue' you said I was dealing with?" Sebastian questioned, raising an eyebrow at the smaller creature.
"Oh, Rose told me that you smashed one of her lockers, so I assumed you got some sort of issue going on, like usual," Blue explained, muttering the last part.
Sebastian glared at Blue before answering Blue's statement, "Well, I've been noticing that every time an expendable dies, their items are gone before I can grab them. You don't know anything about that, do you?"
Blue felt himself get a little tense, avoiding eye contact with Sebastian. He was quiet for a few seconds, trying to come up with an answer for that threatening question. Sebastian watched Blue carefully, placing his third hand on his sawed off shotgun, ready to shoot at any given moment. Sebastian slowly pulled the shotgun out of its holster, cocking it so the bullets were ready.
"Okay, okay, I'll admit that I take the medkits from the expendables but that's it!" Blue admits, gripping the medkit tightly in his arms.
Blue looked down at his Deep Sea Bunny companion before speaking once more. "However... I have noticed items have been going missing from desks as well, especially after expendables die. "
Sebastian placed his shotgun back into its holster and thought for a moment. "desks as well... huh..."
"Yeah, and all the research remains untouched. What's even more strange is that I've seen Deep Sea Bunnies outside of their usual area," Blue continued. "My advice for this is keep an ear out for sea bunny noises, that's all I can say."
With that, Blue crawled out of the shop with their deep sea bunny following behind. Sebastian sat there in silence, rethinking about what Blue just told him. Listen for sea bunny noises? Sebastian thought. Odd...
Over the next week or so, Sebastian spent his time searching for whoever was taking the items he needed to sell with no luck. He asked Romeo, Rosetta and even Blue if they spotted anything but always got no answer. Sebastian grew restless and irritable, watching hopelessly as the small pile of items he did have disappear with each expendable that visits him. The only thing he managed to get were some measly flashlights and Spr-INT injections from when he killed someone. He was getting desperate and he knew it'll drive him insane.
One night, Sebastian was moving down the halls of the Blacksite, listening to the soft sounds the water droplets falling. It gave him an odd feeling of peace and quiet. Right when Sebastian was about to call it a night and return to his shop, he heard the soft squeak of a Deep Sea Bunny. He turned his head immediately to the direction of the noise and carefully slithered towards the source. He watched a small deep sea bunny wandering the halls, and the best part: it was carrying a blacklight! Sebastian quietly stayed behind the small creature before immediately swooping it up in his hand. The poor bunny squeaked and tried to bite on Sebastian's hand with no success.
"Hey there, little guy," Sebastian whispered as he used his other hand to pet the sea bunny. "I'll be taking that," Sebastian took the blacklight from the sea bunny and sliding it into his jacket pocket.
"Let's get you home to your warren, yeah?" Sebastian cooed mockingly as he placed the sea bunny on his shoulder and continued to go down the halls.
Sebastian continued his journey, searching for the culprit. He noticed all the open drawers, seeing all that was left were empty soda cans and blank papers. He wondered if the creature is dangerous or not. Either way, he guard was up and he wasn't going to take any chances with whoever he runs into. Sebastian's body tensed as he heard the sound of metal drawers opening. Finally, he was going to find out who has been stealing his supplies. He slithered into the room as quickly and quietly as possible, spotting a smaller creature rummaging through one of the drawers in the hallway with a small bag filled with items. Their face was hidden via a hooded cloak as small Deep Sea Bunnies had items on their backs.
"YOU!" Sebastian yelled as the Deep Sea Bunnies squeaked in shock.
The hooded creature didn't have any time to respond. In a blink, Sebastian was already in front of them, cornering them in a wall. He slammed them against the wall, feeling his blood boil inside of his body.
"So you're the entitled brat who's been stealing MY things. I don't know if you know this, but I run this place, and I can't have pathetic creatures like you ruining my plans," Sebastian growled.
Sebastian forcefully removed the hood off the head of this thief to see what they actually looked like. He was taken back a little when he saw another humanoid Deep Sea Bunny. However, they looked nothing like Blue... They had white and blue colored hair in a jellyfish hair style and dull purple eyes that had an innocent shine to them. Still, he couldn't let his guard down.
"How about you hand over some of the items you took and no one gets hurt, got it?" Sebastian stated before turning his attention to the angry sea bunnies who were trying to defend this creature by biting and "scratching" him.
Sebastian was at a lost for words and slowly put the creature down as he stared at the sea bunnies. He tried not to laugh at the pitiful attacks which distracted him from his main focus: the humanoid deep sea bunny. When Sebastian looked back to where the creature was hiding, it was already gone. He frantically looked around before spotting it near its bag of stolen items.
"HEY! I'm not done with you yet! You're gonna pay for... for..." Sebastian's words trailed off as he watched the creature do something.
This little humanoid Deep Sea Bunny picked up its bag and handed it to Sebastian, trying not to express the struggle of carrying the heavy bag. Sebastian hesitated for a moment before taking the bag and looking inside. He saw a bunch of fully charged light sources, some medkits plus Cocktail Perithesenes, some Spr-INTS, and some code breachers. Sebastian's eyes widen at this enormous haul, feeling a little guilty for taking these items. That's when the smaller creature handed Sebastian a little piece of paper with a poorly drawn Deep Sea Bunny drawing made with crayons. The creature smiled before picking up their sea bunny companions and began to stumble towards the door.
"Wait," Sebastian called out as he rummaged through the bag.
The humanoid Deep Sea Bunny watched as Sebastian placed a gummy light and a medkit down. They looked up at the larger creature with a confused expression.
"Just take 'em... Before I changed my mind," Sebastian muttered before leaving, slithering back down the way he came.
Two Deep Sea Bunnies picked up the items as the creature just watched Sebastian leave, feeling a little mesmerized by the gesture. They shook their head to snap back into reality and continued their clumsy journey back their home.
Sebastian sat in his shop, staring at the bag of items. He felt... conflicted about everything he just witnessed. A new creature was in the Blacksite and it happened to be associated with the Deep Sea Bunnies. He pulled out the little drawing that was given to him, examining it for any potential information on who this creature was. However, all that was on the paper was a less than decent drawing with a 4 leaf clover next to it.
Sebastian noticed himself staring at the paper a little longer than he wanted to admit. He let out a heavy sigh before placing the paper on the desk. He rubbed the side of his temple as he grew angry, but towards himself.
"Get a grip, Solace," he muttered. "It's just another sea bunny hybrid. They're competition now."
Despite himself trying to convince himself it was a rivalry, Sebastian knew things are never set in stone. Especially down in the Blacksite.

Chapter Text
It had been a few days now since Sebastian bumped into that little bunny creature. He still couldn't wrap his head around the fact they were willing to giving to him a whole bag worth of items to sell. All Sebastian could do was stare at the bag full of supplies, losing himself in thought. He was so lost in his mind, he didn't realize the sound of expendables crawling in the vent to his shop. He scrambled to place all the items on his tail before the expendables came in, hiding the bag behind him. When the expendables crawled in and looked around, Sebastian seemed distracted and quiet as expendables bought the items.
One expendable was trying to fix the radio before looking at the desk to see a piece of paper. They glanced over to Sebastian who was arguing with the others about throwing their sea bunny companions. Taking this opportunity that Sebastian was distracted, the expendable reached for the small paper to see if it was any sort of code. Immediately, the expendable was met with Sebastian's shotgun in their face.
"Let's not touch things that aren't yours, got it?" Sebastian threatened, his glare piercing through the expendable.
The expendable glanced over to their teammates, seeing one with a wound in their arm while the others try to help them heal. The expendable slowly backed away and came to the aid of their fellow teammate after grabbing the keycard.
Sebastian looked down at the four expendables, feeling himself get more irritable by the second. "Best if you all leave now. Otherwise things will get a lot more... messy."
Sebastian watched the expendables scurry out the vent, resisting the urge to just shoot them rather than letting them live. Once they were out of his sight, Sebastian immediately leaned against the wall and taking in a deep breath. He felt more distracted than ever; it wasn't normal for him to this be way. He began to fidget with the ring on his third hand, trying to clear his mind. His fidgeting came to a stop when he heard the walkie talkie turn on.
"Hey, Seb," Romeo's voice called out. "Any luck on who's been stealing your supplies?"
"Yeah, but..." Sebastian muttered. "Let's talk about that later, okay?"
"Alright then..." Romeo replied, sounding a little concerned before the walkie talkie turned off.
Sebastian glanced down at the small piece of paper with the poorly drawn sea bunny on it. His body felt more tense than usual and he wasn't sure why. It couldn't be because of that humanoid sea bunny, could it...?
The Blacksite became quiet as the last few expendables failed to retrieve the crystal once again. The entities were finally allowed to rest, hiding away for the night until a new group of expendables were sent down.
Sebastian was still in his shop, taking glances at the walkie talkie like he was waiting for some sort of noise to come from it. He felt like he was going to lose his mind if no one called in. Finally, the soft glow of the walkie talkie turning on caught Sebastian's attention.
"Finally you called, took you long enough," Sebastian complained, his voice filled with annoyance.
"Geez, sorry. Rose needed me for something. Anyways, spill the info," Romeo replied.
"So, I managed to figure out who was stealing my supplies, but..." Sebastian's voice trailed off.
"But...?" Romeo asked.
"It was strange..." Sebastian continued. "They were... human-like, but not like an expendable. They looked like an experiment, like us."
Romeo fell silent, trying to find the right words to say. Sebastian sat there on the other end, growing uneasy with the sudden silence between them.
"I thought Urbanshade stopped making experiments after the riot..." Romeo muttered. "What did they look like?"
"This is gonna sound strange, but they had sea bunny features," Sebastian explained, looking down at the drawing on his desk before picking it up. "I've never heard about another sea bunny experiment before..."
Romeo thought for a moment before speaking, "Maybe ask Painter if he can find anything about this creature if he can hack into Urbanshade's system."
"Romeo, don't you know how risky that is? We cannot risk everything I worked on to get all of us out of here," Sebastian protested, feeling himself get tensed at the thought of anything ruining the escape plan.
"Listen, there's nothing Urbanshade could do to mess anything up. Every expendable that comes here never make it to the end," Romeo stated, trying to reassure Sebastian about the main plan.
Sebastian let out a heavy sigh, feeling his head pounding with pain. He didn't want to risk putting Painter on the line just for a measly bunny. However, knowing about this creature would ease his curiosity. He began to gather his thoughts before finally speaking.
"I can try to get Painter to help me out, but YOU better be on a look out for anything Urbanshade will throw at us," Sebastian stated, his voice lowering like he was sending a threat to Romeo.
"You got it. I'll talk to you later," with that, Romeo's line was off, leaving Sebastian in silence. Sebastian hesitated for a moment, trying to think if it really is a good idea to dig up information about this creature...
"Hey, Painter," Sebastian quietly spoke into the walkie talkie. "I need a favor."
"So, you're telling me there's no file on this creature? No information in NAVI? Nothing?!" Sebastian yelled into the walkie talkie, slamming his hands down on his desk.
"I'm sorry, Sebastian!" Painter exclaimed, his voice sounding worried yet fearful. "I couldn't find anything!"
Sebastian covered his face with two hands, muffling his frustrated groans to relieve some stress.
"It's not your fault. Sorry for yelling, kid," Sebastian muttered, a pang of guilt filled his chest because he knew he made Painter worry about him.
"I do have another suggestion in mind..." Painter stated.
Sebastian's ears perked up, pushing back the hair that fell in front of his face. "Alright, give it to me."
"I was thinking that you go to wherever that creature lives and look for any file of some sort," Painter explained, hoping Sebastian would take that suggestion.
"That sounds risky. I don't know anything about this... thing, and I can't know for sure if they're dangerous or not," Sebastian stated. "But I can give it a shot."
"Good luck, I'm sure you'll find something," Painter exclaimed before the walkie talkie turned off.
Sebastian sat in his shop for a moment, coming up with a plan to find any kind of information about this sea bunny creature. There were so many possibilities of what could happen, it made his skin crawl with anxiety. As much as he didn't want to admit it, he needed some assistance.
Sebastian gathered his supplies, making sure everything was set. He placed the walkie talkie in his jacket pocket before checking if his sawed off shotgun had ammo, in case he needed to use it. Once he was set, Sebastian slithered his way out of his shop to wander the halls of the Blacksite.
Before Sebastian went to go find this creature, he needed to find some sort of assistance to even track down a sea bunny creature. He always felt weak for asking for help, and it was worse since he needed Blue's assistance due to him being a sea bunny. Sebastian traveled down the halls, searching through the broken pipes and vents to find Blue. That bastard was always on the move so it was tricky to track him down.
Sebastian stopped for a moment, letting out a heavy sigh. His patience was wearing thin as he had no luck finding Blue. Sebastian let out an annoyed growl as he rubbed the bridge of his nose, feeling exhausted from all the traveling.
"I've never seen you this far from your shop before," Sebastian's head shot up as he saw Blue climbing out of a floor vent.
"Oh, there you are. I need you for something," Sebastian stated, picking up Blue by the back of their shirt.
"Wh- Okay then..." Blue muttered as he was being carried unwillingly.
The silence filled the halls as Sebastian traveled with Blue trying to get down from his grip. Sebastian's eye twitched as Blue struggled and flailed around, trying to keep his composure. As the two continued their little adventure, Sebastian finally broke the silence.
"So, do you understand the noises sea bunnies make?" Sebastian asked, keeping his eyes forward.
"Why do you ask?" Blue replied, raising an eyebrow.
"Just answer the damn question," Sebastian snapped back.
"Geez... Well, I can sort of understand them. They sound like toddlers just learning how to speak, but I tend to get words mixed up every now and then," Blue explained. "Do you need me as a translator of some sort?"
Sebastian stayed quiet for a moment before giving a slight nod, "I need to test something and you're the only other sea bunny here in this place."
Those words confused Blue, trying to understand what Sebastian meant about him being the "other sea bunny" in the Blacksite. Blue opened his mouth to speak, but then immediately closed it, not wanting to pry into it.
The two continued their little adventure, looking through each room they pass by. As soon as Sebastian had opened the door with a keycard, the soft sound of squeaks and pitter patters filled the next room they were about to enter.
"There," Sebastian muttered before placing down Blue and moving ahead without him.
"Woah, wait up!" Blue exclaimed, following behind.
Sebastian and Blue stood still, watching Deep Sea Bunnies crawl around on the floor near an opening in a wall. The bunnies seemed to be minding their business, squeezing through little cracks between the furniture, climbing on top of each other and squeaking once they noticed Blue and Sebastian.
One sea bunny flipped over on its back, flailing its legs as it tried to flip back over. Blue helped the little sea bunny by picking it up and cradling it in his arms.
"Hey there, buddy. Isn't it late you guys to be roaming around right now?" Blue asked the sea bunny, booping it on its nose.
The sea bunny squeaked at Blue, its little legs moving as it "communicated" with Blue. As Blue continued to listen to the sea bunny's noises, Sebastian was getting ambushed by the others. The other sea bunnies were climbing onto him, sitting on his shoulders, his tail and on top of his head.
"So, what's that one saying?" Sebastian asked as he was trying to take the sea bunnies off him without success.
"Its saying that they're waiting for its Warren to come back," Blue replied. "I didn't know the Warren leaves this area, let alone its home in the wall..."
"The Warren, huh?" Sebastian muttered to himself, holding the other sea bunnies in his arms.
Blue placed the sea bunny down and went to help Sebastian with the others. When all the sea bunnies were placed back on the floor, they all turned their focus to another direction, squeaking happily. This caught Blue and Sebastian's attention and so they looked in the same direction as the sea bunnies. Sebastian immediately recognized the figure in front of them. The same humanoid Deep Sea Bunny standing there, holding items in their arms.
"Is that...?" Blue could barely get the words out, stuck in a state of shock.
"Another creature like you? Yes," Sebastian replied as the two of them looked at the creature in front of them.

Chapter Text
The humanoid deep sea bunny stared at Sebastian and Blue with fearful eyes, stuck in a fight or flight situation. They tried to take a step back, but they ended up fumbling backwards on the small set of stairs, dropping all their items and falling onto the floor. All the sea bunnies rushed over to help out the creature they called their "Warren".
Blue's first instinct was to rush over and help them out, but Sebastian stopped Blue before he could even take a step forward. Blue shot a scowl toward Sebastian, confused on why he couldn't go to this bunny's aid.
"We don't know if they're dangerous or not," Sebastian whispered.
Blue couldn't tell if Sebastian was being serious or not. How could someone so frightened and small be dangerous...? Blue looked at the other humanoid sea bunny before turning his attention to Sebastian.
"I'll take my chances," Blue replied, having a slight mocking tone.
Blue walked towards the other creature, taking careful steps to not frighten them even more. As the distance between the humanoid sea bunny and Blue was disappearing, the creature became tensed and took something out of their bag. They immediately threw what they had in their hand at Blue before picking up their sea bunny companions and running off.
"What the-" Blue muttered, holding the object that was just thrown at him.
Immediately, the object began to blink and detonate, causing Blue to fall onto the ground.
"Holy shit!" Sebastian yelled, uncovering his face with his arms that he used to protect himself from the blast.
"Ow... That was unexpected..." Blue groaned, trying to sit up.
Blue was covered in soot from the explosive as Sebastian helped him up on their feet. Blue dust himself off, letting out a heavy sigh. The two of them weren't prepared for such an attack from someone so frightened and small.
"Should we go after them?" Blue asked, wiping off the rest of the soot on him.
"I'm not so sure. They threw a landmine at you not even a minute ago," Sebastian replied.
Just when Sebastian was going to suggest heading back, a loud crash echoed through the halls that sounded like it came from the next room. It sounded like something—or someone— hit something metal.
"That noise says otherwise. Let's go," Blue stated, not waiting for Sebastian as he ran towards the cause of the noise.
Blue and Sebastian traveled quickly to the next room to find the source of that crash, looking around for anything that looked out of the ordinary. While looking around, Blue noticed a faint trail of blood drops leading to one of the office rooms in the area.
"Sebastian, over here," Blue called out quietly, watching Sebastian slither over.
"Hmm... it smells fresh..." Sebastian muttered, focusing on the blood drops then looking at the closed door in front of the two.
Blue cautiously opened the door to the room, only to be met by darkness with only one little lamp on, yet it was very dim. The scent of fresh blood grew stronger once the door had opened up. Sebastian took a flashlight out of his pocket, turning it on and shining the light into the room.
The two spotted the humanoid deep sea bunny huddled up in a corner, shaking as blood was all over the floor near their legs. Blue took immediate action, rushing over to the creature.
"Wh- Blue!" Sebastian called out, trying to pull Blue back.
Blue shoved Sebastian's hand away before sitting on his knees in front of the smaller humanoid sea bunny. Blue placed down his backpack, taking out a medkit. Blue was slow and careful, reaching his hand out to the humanoid sea bunny.
The creature flinched, pushing their body against the wall. Blue's expression softened and gave them a smile before speaking quietly.
"Hey, I'm not gonna hurt ya. I just wanna see where you're bleeding from," Blue stated, carefully moving the smaller creature's leg towards him.
"Looks pretty deep..." Blue muttered as he looked at the wound on the humanoid sea bunny's leg. "Don't you worry, I'll fix ya up."
Blue began to wipe away the excess blood from the wound on the creature's leg before taking out a bottle of ointment. He poured some on a cloth before hovering it over the wound.
"This might sting a little. If you need to, squeeze my arm as tight as you want," Blue informed.
Blue carefully placed the damp cloth onto the lesion of the creature's leg. Immediately, the humanoid sea bunny gripped onto Blue's arm tightly, hitching their breath as the painful sting from the ointment seeped into the damaged skin. Their grip was strong as their nails stabbed into Blue's arm, trying to relief the stress from the pain.
Blue then took away the damp cloth and grabbed a sterilized cotton cloth, placing it on the clean wound. Blue then took out a bandage roll and began to wrap the smaller creature's leg. Blue softly hummed to himself as he wrapped the bandage around, noticing that the grip on his arm was loosened. Blue glanced up to see the humanoid sea bunny relaxing and admiring the way Blue was bandaging them up.
"There... we go. Good as new!" Blue exclaimed, scooting back to give the smaller creature some space.
The humanoid sea bunny stared at the bandage wrap on their leg before looking up at Blue. Their eyes shined with admiration and let out a squeak. Blue stared at the humanoid sea bunny before turning his head to Sebastian, having a confused look on his face.
"What? Did you not understand them?" Sebastian asked.
"I have no clue what they just said to me..." Blue replied. "It sounded like how the normal deep sea bunnies sound, but mixed with another tone..."
The humanoid sea bunny tilted their head in confusion, a worried expression painted their face. They looked down at their deep sea bunny companions before picking one up and whispering something to it. They put the sea bunny down and watched it crawl towards Blue and Sebastian. It squeaked loudly at Blue, hopping and pressing two paws on his leg.
Blue picked up the sea bunny as it continued to squeak at him. Blue nodded, finally understanding what was going on.
"Alright then. Thanks, little buddy!" Blue exclaimed, petting the sea bunny before putting it back down on the floor.
Blue then turned to Sebastian, "Apparently, this creature speaks in a different dialect than what I know. But luckily the sea bunnies know what they're saying."
"Huh..." Sebastian muttered. "Do you think you can get a name out of any of them?"
Blue nodded, sitting on his knees and gathering the sea bunnies so he could get any form of information out of them. As Blue was talking to the sea bunnies, Sebastian turned his attention to the humanoid sea bunny. He slithered slowly towards the humanoid sea bunny, clearing his throat to get their attention.
"Uhm, I never got to thank you for the supplies..." Sebastian muttered, his glance turned away from them.
The humanoid sea bunny stared at Sebastian before a soft smile appeared on their face. They let out a soft squeak of joy as they tried to stand up, using the desk near them for help. They completely forgot they were injured so they felt their legs tremble and eventually give out, causing them to fall forward. Sebastian's reflexes immediately were put into action, using his tail to break the sea bunny creature's fall. The humanoid sea bunny squeaked in confusion, glancing up at the taller creature and seeing him look down at them.
As their eyes met, the humanoid sea bunny looked mesmerized by how Sebastian's eyes were only blue and the fact he had 3 eyes instead of 2. They opened their mouth to say—or squeak—something, but then...
"Alright, I believe I got a name from—" Blue's words trailed off when he saw the humanoid sea bunny on top of Sebastian's tail.
"Right, well anyways..." Blue muttered, obviously making fun of Sebastian's situation. "Like I said, I think I got a name from the bunnies, but don't quote me on that."
Sebastian immediately moved his lower body, letting the humanoid sea bunny down on the floor. The humanoid sea bunny squeaked in annoyance as they were dropped onto the floor without a care in the world by Sebastian. They looked a up at him, noticing that he immediately turned away from them to talk to Blue. The humanoid sea bunny huffed, staying on the floor and wondering about that little moment them and Sebastian had.
Sebastian and Blue had moved outside the room to talk about what Blue found out from the little deep sea bunnies.
"So? What did you get out of the little guys?" Sebastian asked, crossing his arms.
Blue let out a heavy sigh, leaning against the wall. "Well... All they keep saying is that the humanoid sea bunny is called 'The Warren' but they did mention they had a file hidden somewhere near where they all live."
Sebastian let out an annoyed growl, realizing that this search for some stupid file was getting longer. He knew he didn't have to do this, but curiosity was killing him.
"There's no way I'm going to get my hands on at file, especially since the sea bunnies' home is so small," Sebastian mentioned, more to himself than to Blue.
Blue glanced back into the room, watching the humanoid sea bunny struggle to even sit up correctly without the help of their sea bunny companions. Seeing this play out made him feel so paternal for this creature. Blue suddenly thought of an idea and looked back at Sebastian.
"Why don't you head back to your shop, it's been a long day for you," Blue stated. "I'll... stay here and take care of our buddy over here."
"Uhm... Alright then, I'll see you around," Sebastian replied, taking a glance towards the humanoid sea bunny before slithering away back to his shop.
Blue watched Sebastian disappear into the hall before heading back into the office room, watching all the sea bunnies waddle around and squeaking. Blue sat down in front of the humanoid sea bunny, giving them a gentle smile.
"Don't worry, I'll take y'all back home," Blue stated, gently patting the humanoid sea bunny on the head.
There was a sense of comfort and safety between these two sea bunny creatures that hopefully will grow into a friendship.
