Chapter Text
“Let me out of here! You can’t do this!” The woman’s muted sob rang from behind the thick oak door. Sebastian sighed. It was entirely too common at this point. How typical. Try as they might, they would all meet the same fate.
The older onyx haired man comes up then, listening in on the commotion.
“Well? Is this one the one?”
Sebastian scoffed.
“I’m not sure why you and mother are so intent on finding me someone. I thought it was obvious that I wasn’t like all of you. Just because you and Claude and Thompson have found someone doesn’t mean I have to as well.” He said as the girl’s sobs and screams increase in volume.
Harry frowned.
“You know we just want you to be happy, son. I thought for sure you’d find the one after your training, quite the shame. I’m sure you just haven’t met the right one yet.”
“I’m perfectly happy as is. Leave it alone. I don’t need someone fawning over me all the damn time. I have a life to live." He said, clipped and cool. He was tired of the same conversation. Is this the one? How about this one? She looks like she’d be nice! Let’s take her!
The Michaelis Family. Members of a secret society that kidnap people, break them down and sell them to whomever ordered them. This family isn’t like the rest of the society though, while they do sell the slaves they break, they’ve been known to keep one they fancy as one of their own. It was an old tradition in the family. From Harry’s great, great grandfather, down to Sebastian himself now. Every single member of his family had found their slave. All but him. He was starting to think it wasn’t going to happen anytime soon. Both his brothers had found their slaves. Claude had found Alois, and Thompson had found Hannah. His father had his mother and everyone was eagerly awaiting the moment when he’d find his slave. Sebastian didn’t think there was anyone that was worth his attention.

Dear Diary, today I made a new friend! His name is Alois, he and I are the same age! We really get along! I can already tell that he’s going to be my best friend.
“Oops! I’m so sorry! Here! Let me help you!” The little blonde boy said to Ciel. Both of them were now covered in the sorry excuse of whatever the school decided to call “lunch”. Ciel shrugged and brushed off the crumbs of pizza crust off of her shirt.
“It’s fine. I wasn’t going to eat this anyway!” Ciel said cheerily. The red marinara sauce stain seeped into her white button up. No use getting that out. Not like she had the means to at the moment. Ciel grimaced, before turning towards the boy who she’d just collided with.
“Here! You can have my pizza!” The blonde said. Offering her the other half of his slice as a peace offering. Ciel shrugged, it was the least the guy could do.
“Thanks.”
“I’m Alois by the way!” An olive branch extending.
“Ciel.”
“Sorry about the shirt. I’ll buy you a new one. I promise!” Alois said cheekily.
“It’s fine. Really, it’s just a dumb shirt.” Ciel muttered, not allowing this random boy to do such a thing for her.
“No! I insist! It’s the least I can do!” The blonde boy said cheerily, offering his hand to shake. “Do you want to sit together?” He asks, gesturing towards one of the empty benches in the cafeteria.
“Sure.” Ciel said, sitting opposite to the boy. Not like she had anyone else to hang out with.
“You’re new here, right? I haven’t seen the school this excited since I started last spring!!” Alois said excitedly.
Ciel nodded, ducking her head a bit when the neighboring students glanced over at the commotion. Ciel shushed him quietly.
“Yup. We moved here this summer, dad transferred job locations but wanted me to finish out my last year at my old school. He said it would be easier to start middle school with a fresh start, so Mom and I stayed while he came here first. Otherwise we would have been here earlier” Ciel said, taking a bite of the food.
“My father’s the town doctor, and he relocated as well, wanted a change of pace.” The blonde boy said while stirring the fruit on his plate around. His eyes looked to Ciel’s and the two shared a genuine smile.
“I already know we’re going to be the best of friends!” Alois said cheerily. He raised his milk carton to her.
“A toast then. To new beginnings and a new life Ciel!”
