The Fool's little Angel

Summary:

Kim Rok Soo was reading 'Birth Of Hero' late at night and accidentally fell asleep; when he woke up. He found himself in a completely different place, and his body felt extremely different. It feels like he is carrying a big bag behind him. He also noticed his halo was different from the angels around him.

Then it struck him.

'Am i a child of a god?'

Fuck, I'm doomed.

Notes:

Hellur, this is probably one of my first works in this account because why not? Anyway, I hope you guys will enjoy this, even though it's a bit rushed.

Chapter Text

Chapter 1: Mother

The Angel of Time, Amon, stared at a newly born angel sitting on one of Mr. Fool’s black tentacle legs with a dumbfounded look.

Mr. Fool had created a new angel. This angel wasn’t like those who had to rise through the ranks to reach the ‘Angel Rank’ but was created to serve or stay next to the designated god who had birthed them.

Amon never thought that the Fool would create such an Angel when multiple angels are ready to comply with his orders and wishes. Did the Fool get tired of these old angels serving him and want to have a cute angel to serve him? Surely not; it is out of character for the Fool to do that.

But Mr. Fool is a fool for a reason; he can act out of character whenever he wants. But Amon has no say in this, whether the Fool wants to act or not. He shall not question him. It would be pointless anyway. The Fool would probably not answer him.

The angel on Mr. Fool’s lap blankly fluffed his unfamiliar wings up.

Kim Rok Soo, after reading the novel ‘Birth of a Hero,’ took a nap. And then he awoke to this place. He felt refreshed for the first time in a long while. His body felt cool and soft, in short, compliant. Firstly, he was shocked by his surroundings and undoubtedly relaxed after realizing his position.

But it was still hard to accept; he was now an angel! And not a normal one after looking around and noticing those shocked and silent stares that bored holes into his body. He doesn’t seem harmless, does he? Kim Rok Soo thought he saw his body was small and frail, but it is flexible. His wings look like those of a harpy eagle or a crow. He wasn’t sure how wide his wings were, but they were exceptionally tall and wide, even though they were folded back, and he noticed a big black halo big enough to encircle him and his wings. The halo's circle was followed by several diamond-like symbols that decreased in length from longest to shortest.

It was beautiful. Kim Rok Soo was so focused on his appearance that he only noticed a gorgeous- looking man was looking at him with a gentle gaze, like how a mother smiles after seeing her child being brought back to her after hours of labor.

‘W, who is this...’

Kim Rok Soo felt like his breath was taken away by the beauty of his mother. He suspected that this guy was surely his mother. Many angels like him surrounded the bed that he and his mother were occupying.

But yeah, those are indeed angels. But all of them look so different. One has long flowing silver hair, and a snake that symbolizes infinity was the shape of his halo, plus he had 6 white wings; they were as white as ducks, and he is dressed like how you’d see a humble dress wearer. And another also had long, flowy hair, but it was crimson red and had blood-red ends. This angel didn’t have a halo on him, but he had big black wings behind him that were folded comfortably.

And another angel caught Kim Rok Soo’s attention. This angel was looking at him strangely as if he had just ruined his life. Amon wore a different style from his usual wardrobe. The Angel of Time wore long black robes, and his wings were slightly open; they weren’t as wide as the Red Angel's, even though his wings were folded.

Kim Rok Soo took note of the 3 angels’ appearances before turning back to face his mother again. His mother had a gentle expression on his face, as if he waited for Kim Rok Soo to look at the most adjacent angels beside him.

The Fool was amused at his son’s reaction and smiled gently once more; some of his black hair fell to the side of his face. Kim Rok Soo lightly gasped at his mother’s beauty and raised his hand to fix his mother’s hair to his side.

Klein let Kim Rok Soo fix his hair and lightly nuzzled his face to the child’s hand. Kim Rok Soo’s hand was smooth and slightly cold, but Klein didn’t point it out; he only closed his eyes and rested his head lightly on Kim Rok Soo’s small hand.

Kim Rok Soo subconsciously smiled and adjusted his position to reach more of his mother. His mother wore a white flowy dress, and there was a two-toned veil on his head instead of a halo. The inside of the veil was deep yellow, while the outside was void black.

Speaking of void black, Kim Rok Soo noticed he was comfortably sitting on tentacles instead of his mother’s legs. He had thought the tentacles would be slimy if he moved much, but no, the tentacles were smooth and, to be honest, comfortable.

One of the tentacles was wrapped around his waist to avoid falling. Kim Rok Soo felt a wave of comfort surge over him. Is this what a mother’s comfort feels like? Kim Rok Soo smiled and pulled his hand away from his mother’s face and leaned forward to hug his mother, unknowingly that his former fluffed wings had flattened and now looked like soft feathers of a carefully preened bird.

Klein accepted his son’s hug and tightened the tentacle that hugged his son’s body.

Ouroboros, the Angel of Fate, looked on in silence. He knows how mortal mothers protect their children, but he didn’t know this would also affect Mr. Fool. It was amusing in the end. Does childbirth hurt that badly?

Ouroboros didn’t want to know. Mr.

Medici turned his gaze to Amon, then to Klein, then to the child itself. Mr. Fool hadn’t even given this child a name yet! But the Fool didn’t care.

—------------

The next day, when the mother-son duo was alone in the bedroom, Kim Rok Soo was tangled in his mother’s tentacles. The little angel couldn’t help but fall in love with them. They were just…so comforting and nice.

And Klein was only there, leaning on the headboard, preening his son’s white wings that had been matted from his reckless playing with his tentacles. Klein wasn’t mad; instead, he was happy that he easily bonded with Kim Rok Soo, and Kim Rok Soo liked him. The God lightly touched Kim Rok Soo’s halo, which was on top of the angel. It looked very beautiful, but Klein was used to this sight, not Kim Rok Soo.

Every time the younger angel looks up or turns in each direction, the halo always follows his head if he is lying down. The halo immediately adjusts and goes in front of him. It took Kim Rok Soo a few hours to get used to this part of his body, but he got over it.

Kim Rok Soo felt the light touch and looked up to his mother with a confused gaze. His long black hair was messily scattered around Klein’s tentacles.

“Do you have a name? Or shall I bestow a name upon you? ”

Klein softly asked. The young angel, Kim Rok Soo, sat up and shook his head.

"...Kim... Soo..."

Gosh, his throat felt dry. How many days has it been since he last spoke?

“Kimsoo? Do you want that to be your name? ”

Klein asked the angel with a soft smile. His son already thought of a name? How cute! He didn’t have to worry about bestowing his child a name when his angel had already named himself. Hah, he saved himself from the brain-blowing of choosing names for his son.

Kim Rok Soo, now Kimsoo, nodded his head. The diamonds create soft, echoing sounds of relief and comfort. Kimsoo thought that his halo created soft sounds of his emotions. Which is indeed true.

Klein patted the resting angel on him and slowly dozed off, which was soon followed by Kimsoo.

-

Klein never thought that he'd create an angel for no reason. Well, there is a reason, but he considers it as a 'no reason.'

In the recent months of living alone in the Sefirah Castle, he felt like throwing up for absolutely no reason; his head felt like an egg that would easily crack at the slightest touch. Klein thought that he was probably only having a headache. Not a fucking fetus inside his 'unfertile' body. He never wanted to have a child because it would hold him back from his godly matters, plus having a child would mean he had to be present and take care of the child.

One might call Klein a bad parent, but he is anything but that. If he had a kid. He will take care of them, whether they are his or not. Why would he let an innocent life die? Did they do something bad? Klein had no choice but to take care of this little guy.

...

When Klein told the news to Arrodes. The mirror buzzed and vibrated to express her happiness. 'Great Master!!!! You have a child now! Don't worry, this servant will take care of the Great Master's baby!! Kyahh! '

Weird, but it's Arrodes, so Klein won't mention it. Arrodes is his source of information and time and one of the people who knows his birthday. He will never admit it to Arrodes, but he treats the mirror with a fondness like a family member, and the mirror knows it anyway.

Soon, it didn't even take long before the other Angels knew it. They greeted the Fool and gave him gifts for the baby and himself. Azik the Angel of Death. He was the one who gave Klein the most advice and stuff for his pregnancy. And Klein willingly accepted the advice and gifts. They talked with sweet tea in both of their hands.

Being pregnant doesn't mean no troubles will head your way. Like Amon. This goddamn menace is just here.

Klein furrowed his brows at the sight of a fat crow between his legs. The damn crow just looks so comfortable pressing its beak on his fucking crotch.

What the fuck?

"What the hell are you doing there?"

Amon didn't give a response to Klein's question; he only fixed his wings and pressed them closer to his fat crow body. Klein ignored the fact that Amon looked like a perfect stress ball that would create a loud squawk if he squeezed him with his blanket-covered legs.

"If you answer, I'll get you a pat."

...

"A kiss—"

"I am here to check up on you because you have never been this lazy, and I heard that you're pregnant. And I have researched that if a pregnant woman is pregnant, she needs to be with cute or soft animals because it reduces stress."

"Cheeky bastard."

"Where is my kiss, dear?"

Klein rolled his eyes at Amon, yet he still leaned forward and gave the fat crow a peck on the head. The fat crow let out a squawk of delight at Klein and wiggled his tail, and happily flapped his wings.

'Fucking bastard..'

Chapter 2: Gray

Chapter Text

Kim Soo opened his eyes with a troubled look after a few days of staying in this new world. He immediately adjusted to it. Well, he took a lot of time taking care of his big wings, though. Suppose he is talking about the appearance of his wings. He'd say it looks gorgeous and breathtaking. But the catch was carrying the beauty of it. It was damn heavy and wide, plus his halo is a whole working orchestra that plays his emotions.

Fuck privacy when you have a whole halo of music that follows you everywhere, and you can't even separate it from yourself. Kim Soo had so many complaints about his new anatomy, but he won't say it out loud. Not for the fact that his mother is a darn god . Thinking about it made Kim Soo shiver unconsciously on his soft bed.

Jokes aside, having wings gave him an advantage with some minor things. Firstly, he can fly up to some objects that he wants to eat, read, and use before effortlessly placing them back where they belong. Second is that when he noticed having wings gave him the best naps ever. Why? His wings are fluffy and big, giving him the advantage of sleeping wherever he wants. The downside is that his feathers are all matted up whenever he moves too much on the floor he is sleeping on.

Kim Soo stayed in bed for a little while longer before he sat up to stretch his arms and wings. A few cracks were heard on his arms, but his wings cracked a few more. And his halo created a hum of delight.

The halo Kim Soo had was unique. For his opinion. If he were sad, his halo would sing a lyric-less song that only sang in low tones. It sounds like a violin and a piano being played underwater. The unidentified sound made Kim Soo want to control his emotions. But he was still a child. A toddler. And being a toddler means his body couldn’t control those emotions.

The Angel just sighed tiredly, even though he had just woken up and forced his way out of the bed to the bathroom, peeling his sleeping robes on the way.

Starting a day feels tiring, but information is information. He needs to gather information, and he needs to learn even a little something in this barren castle.

-

Kim Soo walked through the quiet hallways of Sefirah Castle. It was so quiet that he could hear each tap of his shoe on the solid and shining tiled floor of the castle. Kim Soo wanted to ask who cleans this floor when there are no maids here.

His mind wandered off as he walked. Arrodes is said to be the one who takes care of said Sefirah Castle and the most trusted servant here.

Of course, ‘most trusted’ because the mirror is the thing that cleans and supervises this place! The other maids that his mother had hired were probably thieves. Is that why he only chose Arrodes?

As Kim Soo walked with a blank face, he failed to notice the approaching god behind him.

“Good morning, Kim Soo. How was your sleep here? ”

“—I had a good sleep, Mother.”

Kim Soo jumped at the sudden appearance of Klein behind him. And not only did that shock him, but he said the tentacles of his mother were missing. Where were they? In the previous days. He had permanently thought that his mom didn’t have legs.

“That’s a good thing; follow me. Let us eat some breakfast.”

Klein said with a smile, his hand placed on Kim Soo’s shoulder. He jus t wanted to feel his son’s warmth as they walked.

The little angel followed after his mother. The hand placed on his shoulder made him feel giddy and slightly happy, but he still had a goal in mind.

Gather much information and try to understand this world as much as possible, and survive.’

There doesn’t seem to be any threat touching or near Kim Soo. But... Just in case he needs to do something in the future that screams harm. He can flee right away.

The Fool and his little angel walked across the hall in comfortable silence. Unbeknownst to them, fat crows were watching them from behind each and every single pillar.`

-

After breakfast, Klein was called to do his godly duties, and Kim Soo was left alone. But that doesn’t mean Klein left the little shit unattended. Amon had approached Klein with the most peace  ever since Kim Soo’s birth.

At the first sight of Kim Soo, Amon ever wanted to jump the child and run away. Why do you say that? Because Klein was smiling at Kim Soo in a way that he had never seen before. Yes, he had seen Klein crying under his body when they made love, but he had never seen Klein smile like that. That is unfair!

Kim Soo is Klein's child. And he would gladly act like the father. If only he could just parasitize his own son, but fuck no, Klein would probably hit him and send him back to sequence 4. He wouldn't want that now, would he?

Kim Soo sat on a carpet. He swore it wasn't there before, and the last time there was barely sunlight outside the castle. Now he sat on a carpet under a tree. The breeze was calm and often making the leaves on the ground swirl. It was a calming sight.

Beside Kim Soo, Amon was leaning on the tree, his legs crossed, and his arms were used as a pillow to support his head. The older angel wore your typical wizard outfit, but without the outer robe and the annoying hat. Kim Soo wouldn't lie, but he saw the older angel as an attractive person

Well, he is also attractive.

Amon: "So what are you planning?"

Kim Soo: "Nothing, I plan for nothing but to rest under this tree."

...

Amon: "That is a sweet lie coming from an angel, mhm?"

Amon chuckled at Kim Soo; the little angel was planning to lie in front of him? The Angel of Errors? That's fine. This Angel is newly born anyway. He would teach this younger one a lesson later. If only Klein wasn't so protective about his son.

"Well, I say that I wanted to wander around the castle."

Kim Soo said as he blankly stared at a yellow leaf circling down as it descended from the air. As he did so, Amon watched Kim Soo out of the corner of his eye. Kim Soo's halo also swirled around him and created a low hum.

Amon: "Why not? I will keep you attended, or a tour."

The little angel turned to Amon slowly. Why did he agree? Is he someone who has a relationship with his mother? Ah, dammit, why would he think about it when he already has a free ticket?

Kim Soo: "Fine, I will follow after you. But firstly, lead me to the library."

Amon: "Okay then, little prince, follow me."

Km Soo swallowed the cringiness and sighed. Amon stood up from his seat and patted his ass to remove the leaves that were stuck on his pants. His wings were tightly closed off to his body, and Kim Soo patted his ass to remove the leaves and stretched his wings. Amon waited for Kim Soo to finish his thing with his wings before he turned first. He knew Kim Soo would follow him.

The little angel may not know it, but Amon already knew what he wanted to find. Information: Kim Soo needed information about this place, and Amon would gladly give some of the precious information he needs. You might think Amon would give information that would help Kim Soo, but hell no. He will give very limited information to Kim Soo. Amon still didn't know Kim Soo's intentions.

To be completely honest, Kim Soo will only make his job easier if he says what he wants to Amon, but his guard is held high whenever he is with him. Should he just transform into a crow before meeting Kim Soo? It's in the past; he can't change his choices now, can he?

-

The walk was quiet and slightly tense; Kim Soo preferred walking with his mom to this angel. He just felt scared for no reason. Dammit. He just felt shivers all around his body whenever Amon looked behind to see if he is following him.

'This angel will not kill me, will he?? '

Chapter 3: Brownish Knowledge?

Summary:

Amon led Kim Soo to the library and let him have some detailed information about beyonders and potions. Kim Soo isn't ready for this information bomb, but Amon still did. It is good to show your prey your fake weakness before dominating once more, right?

In short, Kim Soo was shown an overwhelming number of books that contained some precious... knowledge. But he defeated Amon first before Amon could try. (Did he manage to defeat him, though?)

Notes:

Chapter Text

Amon's first thoughts about Kim Soo were rather.. colourful. His impression of the child is that the child is a boring little angel who'd only follow the Fool, act like a whole new different person without the Fool, and lastly, a troublemaker. He, Amon, sees himself also as a troublemaker, but on another level, a little angel can't possibly blow a part of the library up with a flick of his finger, right?

Wrong.

-

As soon as the two angels stepped inside said library, Kim Soo was amazed at the design and the number of books lined up in each aisle. Each aisle was tall and had many different colored books, while others had only one color in an aisle. Kim Soo gasps at the sight excitedly.  He will read books in these book-filled aisles?! Oh, he wants to sit on a couch and start reading!

"Calm down, little birdy, we don't want your brain cooking up, do we?"

"What? "

Amon smiled at Kim Soo's confusion; he wouldn't say the effect of knowing too much. That wouldn't be fun now, would it? Especially since Kim Soo looked like a Potoo bird. That thing looks terrifying with those black ass eyes. The older angel held himself back from poking those black orbs of Kim Soo's back to his sockets.

The younger angel, Kim Soo, looked annoyed at the sudden disturbance, but he only got a small smirk from the older angel. What is Amon's problem? Does seeing his curious look make Amon wanna kill him or eat him alive?

No! Why would he think such thoughts! Amon wouldn't stand a chance against his mother if he dared to touch him.

"What do you me-"

"As I was saying. We don't want your brain to get fried from receiving too much from these books. They may seem like tasty cupcakes, but taking too much can damage your health."

"Of course I know that. "

"And what do you think? "

"As you said to me earlier, taking too much could be bad for my health, which particularly means that absorbing too much could cause more harm than good?"

"Correct."

Amon crossed his arms at Kim Soo. The little child was smarter than he thought; the questions were easy, like baking an apple pie. Amon wasn't as impressed as he saw more intelligent people, but Kim Soo is a goddamn 13-day-old angel. Fuck life when a newborn could defeat one of his crows just outside the library with common sense.

"So, am I allowed to read now? "

"Of course, you are allowed, just sit on a chair."

"..Why would I not sit on a chair when reading?"

"Just follow my orders."

"That was not an order, from what I remember."

As soon as Kim Soo said that, Amon spins his heels and disappeared into thin air. Kim Soo sighed at Amon's tactics. He didn't know which kind of books Amon would hand him, but he just knew it would be informative, knowing from the fact that this angel- Amon, is one of Klein's 'important' people. If he wasn't, he wouldn't be walking around the Sefirah Castle like he owned it.

Kim Soo finds himself sitting on a comfy couch mere minutes away from his usual spot where Amon disappeared from, the warm air shifted into something colder Kim Soo couldn't identify what it, but the silence comforted him, and his halo hummed in delight.

As the little angel was satisfied just by sitting here. But Kim Soo wasn't here to sit and wait, but to read books.  Amon will not stop him at all. He needs to learn about this world, and that damn babysitter of his won't stop him.

Kim Soo gathered his thoughts and forcibly threw himself upwards, a small and short groan leaving his lips as he walked towards the nearby shelf that had unfamiliar characters to him. But this little angel trusts himself with his knowledge in reading. He can and will learn about whatever is in this world.

He isn't called an idiot or a fool when it comes to gathering things he shouldn't; he will find a way even though he can't. Developing his brain is one of his goals here. What Amon said to him only fueled his desire to learn more.

-

Amon returned with a few heavy books in his right hand, his cheeky smile, and crescent eyes hovered over Kim Soo. This little brat didn't wait for him. Well, it's fine because he didn't get the far more knowledgeable books that weren't for his age and brain.

"So, how are you facing your 'doom'? "

"As far as I know, my brain didn't fry like you said."

Amon rolled his eyes at the comment. Okay, child genius, it isn't his fault that Kim Soo can handle those things that normal angels can't. His mind is probably created for certain activities like this.

"You are handling it quite well for a beginner."

Kim Soo pointedly ignores him and continues to read his book with obvious interest,

['How to digest potions better for new beyonders']

Even though Kim Soo didn't need to digest a potion, he still had the gut feeling to stock it in his mind and throw it out. It is a need for survival if Kim Soo meets someone who could be his ally.

"It's...interesting.."

Kim Soo mumbles as he flips each page like flipping a flipbook. Oddly, for it is said to break his mind for knowing too much. It isn't breaking him. But he knew he was still far from knowing too much.

The younger angel had created a mental note to read 5-6 books and wait if there is any change before fetching another book for him to read and gather more and more. Kim Soo hasn't yet used his ability 'Record' to record these books, but he is catching up. After a book or two. He closes his eyes to meditate and remember the contents of the books.

This just proves that his memory was enhanced after his transmigration. In the past, he would've used his ability 'Record' to record all the contents that were given by the book. Important or not,  Kim Soo still recorded them.

Amon, "I'm glad you found them interesting. Now that you have had your first dessert. The things I will give you will be your meal."

Kim Soo, "The thicker ones have more important stuff?"

Amon gave his cheeky smile in return and handed Kim Soo books that weighed over 25 kg. The weak arms of Kim Soo didn't manage to support himself in time before it fell loudly on the floor. The loud Thud echoed across the vast library.

"You are weak."

"Of course I am! I'm still a child-"

"Good. Stay weak."

Amon cuts Kim Soo off with that fucking annoying smirk. Oh, Kim Soo just wants to slap this older male. First was that this old hag made him wait in the library for who knows how long and dump heavy books on his sickly stick arms, and now this?! Manners!

This bitch?

Kim Soo badly wants to swear, but that'll ruin his reputation, even though just right in front of Amon. He has connections with his mother, and he doesn't want to give his mother headaches about his unacceptable behaviour that happened at just the first time of meeting someone other than Klein.

He knew he didn't have separation anxiety, but being with Amon gave him the chills to run back to Klein and hide underneath his veil. He'd rather stay in the dark with the familiar presence than spend a few more hours with Amon.

-

The little angel is seen underneath multiple tall towers of books and papers; Some books were open, and a neatly created leaf bookmark was placed on the page. Papers were scattered around to form notes. 4-7 papers are stacked behind Kim Soo, and in front of his small body, the 8th stack was being formed with precision and hard work.

Even though he knows he can slack already. Being a slacker with little to no knowledge about this world is just taboo. In case of an emergency, how can he protect himself if he doesn't know the basics or what pathway his enemy is?

Kim Soo circled his chosen keyword to focus on. Eyebrows tightly clenched together.

[22 pathways, One can recognize a pathway based on (abilities), potions, source entity, etc.]

Abilities. If Kim Soo learns and tries to recognize most abilities, he'd effortlessly know which pathway his enemy is. And if he knows the pathway. He can spot their weaknesses and strengths.  Kim Soo just has to turn the tables in his favor if he doesn't know his enemy's weakness.

Survival and safety are priorities.

It doesn't matter if Kim Soo won if he is battered and all bruised over; Dignity is served, but not his health. Fighting someone who is not for him will only end up injured and knocking on death's door.

Kim Soo sighed silently. Amon left him for some 'important' matters outside the Sefirah Castle. Kim Soo didn't ask for it; he doesn't even care. But he is curious what it is like to be outside Sefirah Castle. Is it full of clouds and many birds flying around? Or a lush forest surrounds the castle? Or maybe the Sefirah Castle is somewhere above the clouds?

Childish yet valid questions flew around Kim Soo, and it was accepted since a child being curious is a part of their growth into being a healthy-minded child.

"I wonder.. Are these abilities easy to recognize? "

Flip, flip, flip...

Symbol, symbol, symbol. It all looks different in the books. But what if they look different in person? No, he had to trust the book. No way worms could parasitize someone., That's scary.. Kim Soo fought over the shiver that crawled onto his back.

Flip...

[In the Marauder Pathway, Sequence 1 is the apex of thievery—where the Beyonder doesn’t just steal items, but powers, fate, and even identity. They move like shadows, warp luck itself, and strip enemies of their strength mid-battle. To fight one is to risk losing your very essence.]

And what the fuck do we have here? Isn't Amon in the Marauder pathway?

Kim Soo stared at the text with dark eyes.

Chapter Text

While Kim Soo is drowning in books, Klein drowns in problems.

When Kim Soo was sent out to play, Klein had left to go and attend a meeting he had personally scheduled for Monday at 3 pm. The Tarot club rarely meets since his slumber. This first week of June. Klein had thought about gathering the members and talking with them. Not for Mission reports, not for discoveries, but for a conversation and to show off any updates in their life.

Audrey would steal the spotlight, not that it would matter to Klein; he needs to talk about his child. Audrey and Cattleya had seen Kim Soo before, and Audrey would yap first before him. He would firstly steal the spotlight before Audrey, then she could have it back once he is done. Easy as cake.

Now, Klein sits on his usual seat in the grey fog. In front of his angels and club members (Yes, why not),

Audrey, "Good Afternoon, Mr Fool~!"

Audrey cheerfully and gleefully says, The other members also greeted Klein one by one. The gatherings always start with a joyful Audrey, and voices of strong turns of the stories they will share once given the chance by The Fool.

Klein smiles under the fog covering his face. Should he start first?

Klein, " If no one speaks first, I will first speak about the activities I've finished."

'Activities? Had the Fool done something?'

Alger suspiciously eyes the Fool's blurry figure. He has spent long whiles of his life working with the Fool and all had ended with a teeny tiny bit of problems.  This won't be different from the others is it?

Fors, "Yes, Mr, Fool."

Fors coughed her throat silently and eyed the others, similarly. They also had the same eyes. Of course, if you exclude some confirmed angels here.

Klein, "In the past few days inside the Castle where i reside in. I had created a child-"

Gasp.

"-No. Not what you are thinking, but i am talking about that i had created a child. Made with my own blood."

Alger shifted uncomfortably at his chair, the first few words of the Fool got him hard.

He had never heard of the Fool having any relations with anyone other than a few gossips about the Fool and his former enemy.

The damn annoying monocle ass bitch.

Audrey laughed at her seat silently, she wanted more. She wanted Klein to say more! Tell them how Kim soo acts! How she's a good auntie by giving Kim Soo gifts.

Klein, "And this child of mine is named Kim Soo. You may address him to any name you'd like to call him. But he prefers being called by his name."

"" Yes, Mr Fool. ""

Klein, "Good. You may now start the gathering."

Klein said as he backed down from the conversation. He pointedly ignores Audrey's piercing sulky glare at him. He will not act like that infront of all of them.

He still has his own dignity as the Fool for the love of biscuits!

'Kill me now.'

_

Kim Soo hummed as he finished the 9th stack of gathered information from the book he had read. All of them were interesting and gave him a huge amounts of knowledge.

After reading and writing all this things, he felt his hands starting to get numb. The halo on top of him hummed in complaint about his doings.  But that made Kim Soo stop his tracks as he was about to fix and organize the books and scattered papers around him.

Was his halo just there to show that he was an angel and loudly announce his emotions like a radio? Hopefully not only that, that's feels worthless.

Kim Soo shooked his head to avoid thinking much of it and carried the already piled up books to an adjacent table placed by Amon.

Amon told him before he should leave the books on the table and it will automatically rearrange themselves for him.

Kim Soo didn't reply back then and continued writing, he listened to Amon's words even though he badly wants to ignore him.

Sadly, ignoring Amon will only cause him more harm than good. If he ignored Amon's words. He would've had to spend hours flying around the library and place the books back to its designated location.

Thump

....

Eeeeuuuuu

shwoop

Okay that sounds creepy AND disgusting, why does it sound slimy.

The feathers behind Kim soo fluffed up in awareness. The little angel too, was scared if anything will pop out against the normal looking table. God knows what things Amon placed there.

After removing the pile of books from the ground and couch, Kim Soo now focused on piling up all the nine stacks of handwritten notes from books.

He could've just recorded it with 'Record' but he just felt like wasting ink. And it resulted to actually writing whole notes that he blankly took without realizing it.

But no complaints, just Kim Soo permanently telling himself to avoid Amon.

He thought he was just an annoying freak who had a very important contact with his mom, n-not this!

Piling up the notes was faster than he expected. Yes good job, he wants to sleep already. His mom, Klein is probably at bed right now waiting for him.

He has to hurry up and leave the library, time is clicking.

Kim Soo lifted the pile with a power he didn't know he had and walked out of the library as like of a normal person. Closing the door with a small 'click'.

And soon as the 'click' echoed against the empty hallway of Sefirah castle. Kim Soo bolted away like a lighting.

....

Amon's 3768373th clone the maya. stared at the bolting child with a blank look. Kim Soo knows he was there, but why run? it isn't like his going to eat him.

Well, the REAL Amon will, not him. The real one is he bets with high chances testing monocles outside the castle.

Klein's meeting will end in a few hours, and he's sure Kim Soo ran off to Klein's room with the absurd amount of papers.

The maya bird snorted. If Kim Soo created a mess on Klein's bed. It's a good night.

_

Slam

Kim Soo threw his door open, first. He needs to put all of this here before going to Klein. His mother would ask why he had that much amount of papers for no absulute reason.

He doesn't plan om answering....But he would, just a little. Not enough to spoil what he wants.

His mother would most likely be protective over him because even knowing too much could kill him.

Kim Soo arranged the papers into a neat stack right beside his big bed. His place is comfortable and all but being with Klein is just the best!

He wants to feel those hands caress his hair, feathers, and halo. Ah so comforting! He is already dying!

_

Klein's eyes went back to reality, the four dots on his back wrist also disappeared into air. He blinked a few times and looked down.

Kim Soo was huddled under his arms, his large wings covering his whole body.

Is Kim soo covering him up because he thought he was cold? Awe.. Klein subconsciously smiles and leans to kiss Kim Soo's head affectionately.

He's heard that Kim Soo spent his whole day reading and studying in the library about beyonder and pathways.

Klein is proud about Kim Soo's achievements. Plus the fact that he handled Amon pretty well. Another peck on the forehead! Good Job!

_

A so called drunken man looked down at the shattered glass beneath his naked feet. The shattered glass pierced some skin of the sole of his feet. He wanted to say it hurts but he needs to act.

"What are you looking at huh? You dare look at a noble with that disgusting look?!"

Cale, or so called trash glared at a certain black haired person. It wasn't Choi Han but... it was another Choi.

Choi Jung Soo.

"I'm sorry i just- i just wanted to know if you knew a person named Kim Rok Soo!"

Cale, "Scram! That bastard is probably dead! This, you've done is trespassing!"

Choi Jung Soo, "Please just listen to me! I found tracks of him here.. I.. Just wanted to know if my friend is here.."

The red head responded the same sentence he had said earlier, but far louder. Choi Jung Soo winced at the loud voice and muttered a small apology.

"i.. I'm sorry okay? I will leave.."

Cale watched Choi Jung Soo turn and  jump off from a open window on the bright hallway. He left as quickly as he got.

His heart wheezed, fuck. That stranger scared him so hard. If not for the bottle he were holding he would've ran out like a pussy.

Which sane stranger would fucking meet you at the DAMN CORNER and fully black clothed.

What would you think of that person? A robber. Yes a fucking robber. That was Cale thought of Choi Jung Soo.

He almost felt bad for him. But no., his heart took a screenshot because of him.

Chapter Text

When Choi Jung Soo jumped out of the Henituse estate, he happened to come across an exhausted teenager. And that teen was said to be Choi Han.

Choi Han was leaning on the wall of the Henituse estate, breath shallow and taking attempted deep breaths. Firstly, he just saw the last villager of Harris village take his last breath away. Next, he cried his heart out on the same spot where he had first been led to the village by the elderly woman who took him in.

Finally, he ran for a whole day, covering a week's worth of traveling by carriage. His emotional state was just in pure shambles.

Choi Jung Soo's breath hitched at the sight. Why is this teen here? He looks like a foreigner from this place, like him. Pointed from Choi Han's hair color, he means. And along with looking like a foreigner, wanderers aren't allowed to be near the Henituse estate without any identification. Even if Choi Han had identification. He wouldn't be allowed to be this near the perimeter of the mansion.

Slowly, landing on the ground with a light tap, Choi Jung Soo walked towards the resting teen. He felt a little bad. So, as he approached Choi Han, he made his presence known by making his steps a little heavier, making his aura show the smallest way possible not to alarm the already-exhausted teen.

"Hey, what are you doing here? Shouldn't little kids like you go home and eat dinner already?"

...

"Buddy, can you hear me?"

...

Silence... Silence met Choi Jung Soo; the brunette-haired male wasn't sure if Choi Han was purposely ignoring him or was sleeping peacefully. Sleeping right outside the estate sounds like a death wish to see the count. And that was Choi Jung Soo's goal. Sadly, he miscalculated and came across Cale, the rumored trash.

"Are you sleeping?"

...

As Choi Jung Soo was about to turn and go to alarm the nearby guards to send Choi Han to a nearby inn. Choi Han opened his mouth and hoarsely spoke.

"Why...?"

The brunette stopped his movements at the teen's words. He was delighted to know Choi Han was indeed well enough to speak; water needed to be given hurriedly, or else his vocal cords might scream, "Ow!"

Choi Jung Soo was focused on two things about Choi Han: one was that he was conscious, and the second was that he was confused. What do you mean by 'Why? 'As the Korean was about to respond, Choi Han continued.

"Why are you talking to me?"

'Huh?'

Unbeknownst to Choi Jung Soo, he had said it out loud.

Choi Han: "Why are you talking to a mere peasant like me?"

'Oh, surely I won't call you a peasant but a fucking death soldier. What the hell are you doing in this area of the motherfucking estate? '

Choi Jung Soo: "Because you look like you need some help? Wait, no, scratch that, your appearance screams help. I may sound like I am pitying you, but it is far from that."

As those sarcastic words left the brunette, Choi Han lifted his head to meet Choi Jung Soo.

Good fucking lord.

Choi Han, 'A Korean—?! Like me?! No, wait, this can't be! I'm the only one supposed to be here-'

Ignoring the internal crisis with Choi Han, Choi Jung Soo's brain also malfunctioned. This guy... He looked like his missing younger uncle once removed, 15-20 years back. What the hell? Isn't he the only Korean who travelled here?

The two Chois stared at each other, thoughts malfunctioning in sync to show the identical genes.

-

As the two Chois' brains malfunctioned, Kim Soo's brain said goodbye.

Currently, he sits on a chair in front of a huge dining table; beside him is Klein, who weirdly has a thick fog covering his face. Kim Soo didn't like that the fog covered his mother's face. Is the fog gatekeeping him or something? If yes, then good. Only he is allowed to see that face. Fuck Amon.

And speaking of Amon... Klein told him... No, this is not Klein, but it's Klein... right? 'Klein,' who randomly showed up wearing a monocle on his right eye when he was hanging on a chandelier, yelled at him from underneath, telling him that he had scheduled a small picnic for him and Amon, and this picnic was requested by Amon.

Why would Klein, his mother? Would personally tell him and not Arrodes.

Back to the topic.

Klein pops a grape into his mouth, and the tarot club gathered once more in the same month. All because of Kim Soo. The members wanted to see or meet Kim Soo out of the grey fog. Klein agreed and asked Kim Soo if he wanted to. Kim Soo also agreed and was dragged to sit right next to Klein. He wasn't complaining.

Socializing is hard for Kim Soo, but having guidance massively helps him in times of crisis.

Audrey: "So, Mr. Fool, Ms. Magician, and I have created an offer for your little angel!"

Fors, "Yes, Mr. Fool."

Audrey said happily, and Fors continued with her usual tone.

Audrey and Fors may not know each other as friends outside the grey fog, but they are close above the grey fog. Their relationship is unique. Sometimes, if Fors suggested something, Audrey would reply and suggest something similar to Fors's suggestion. They might not be besties, but they consider each other friends.

Audrey: "Ehem... We have decided to take the little angel out for a picnic this week!"

Fors, "Yes..."

Fors was anxious that the Fool wouldn't accept. But Audrey insisted. Oh no, what if they get in trouble for asking Kim Soo-

Klein: "I don't see why not?"

Audrey: "Yes! Thank you, Mr. Fool! We will keep Little Kim Soo safe!"

After conversing with Klein about Kim Soo, it is time to ask if Kim Soo wants to join the picnic. Klein accepted it as long as it was a part of the tarot members who were watching over Kim Soo. The angel was smart enough to know which things are right and wrong. And if he is in particular danger, his halo is a whole ambulance screeching to let him know his pain. Be it mental or physical.

Of course, Kim Soo can control his halo's behavior, though. It is mostly loud and softly showing off his feelings.

Audrey asked Kim Soo if he agreed. Kim Soo stares blankly at her, communicating with his eyes. Certainly not knowing that a thick fog was also covering his body and face.

At the sight, Klein lightly chuckled under his breath and nudged Kim Soo lightly. The little angel needs to answer Audrey before whatever might happen. And Klein wanted Kim Soo to answer with his own words. Audrey asked, and Kim Soo gulped a large amount of air up to his little tummy. He answered generously.

Going to a picnic with 'real' angels, as said by Kim Soo, was better than staying with a literal hazard, which is Amon. Staying with the girls seems rather safer than going out with a Sequence 1 Marauder pathway.

Kim Soo wouldn't last staying in one place filled with talkative fat crows. And each of them had a motherfucking monocle, bitch? These crows he had been thinking about talked shit about people whom they had found funny.

Example: A woman fell down the stairs and fell straight into a muddy puddle. A bunch of crows on a wire would start cackling. Making fun of and talking about how hilarious she looks.

And here, a handsome man was walking by the street; a pigeon was sitting on a wire above the man and shat. The shit landed on the man. Good fucking lord. The neighborhood was infested by loud cackling crows whenever they saw someone 'looked funny.'

Kim Soo: "Yes, I would love to join the planned picnic that you have graciously invited me to."

Kim Soo smiled even though no one could see him, except for Klein. He smiled because he got away from the owner of those vicious, talkative crows. What a good week he is having.

Audrey lit up at the little angel's response, Yes! She and Fors could finally see how Kim Soo acts with them only and how old his soul is. Is it 12? 16? 25? Or higher? Oh, Audrey wants to know!

Being a possessed angel from birth means that a soul was given to the vessel, and the age of the soul will be turned into angel years. An example is that if a soul were 20-40 years old, the vessel would morph and turn into a 3-5-year-old toddler. And Kim Soo, so far, looks like a 5-year-old toddler. The soul might be older than Audrey, but that doesn't mean they won't respect her.

Audrey had a reason to set up a picnic. She enjoyed her childhood days; she had explored many places in Backlund with her friends and family. One of her favorites was walking in a field filled with different blooming flowers. It was such a sight. And she wanted Kim Soo to experience the feeling of walking among the fluttering flowers at a young age.

Although Kim Soo might be older than she thinks he would be. He was still a child physically. It still affects his mental health.

After Kim Soo's agreement, the conversation shifted into more playful banter, like Mr. World's co-workers' affairs. So on and so forth.

-

"... What the fuck? You again? And you brought a brat with you?"

Cale furrowed his brows at the sight in front of him. He was called by his father to talk with these two 'gentlemen.' To pursue his act as trash, he brought a half-filled bottle of wine with him to show off.

He had expected some work-related stuff, not this rascal and his little gnat!

What the hell was the trespasser doing here in the office? Was he about to get in jail for trespassing? If so, why does he have a teen with him?

...

No.. Don't tell him he asked his father for help instead!

"Cale, meet Choi Jung Soo and his little brother, Choi Han."

Gah, fuck no! This little shit lies like a child, but my father still fell for it!

One, it looks believable. Two, they both have the same 'Choi'. Three, they are foreign people. Four, they probably trespassed multiple times. Five. Choi Jung fucking Soo and Choi fucking Han.

Cale mentally noted to himself to stay away from these people to save his already ruined mental health.

'People with Choi are people who will effortlessly give me cardiac arrest one day; get away from them.'

Chapter 7: Crows and Bread

Summary:

After the picnic with Audrey, Kim Soo was yet to attend another picnic. Which might not be a picnic, but is a picnic.

And Cale discovered an ancient power???

Notes:

Guess who decided to write like a pussy after realizing that I was caught tickling my best friend's knees (I got sent to the office because of this and got home late... They thought I was harassing her)

Chapter Text

"What do you think? Isn't the apple pie tasty?"

"Yes, it's tasty, Auntie. I like the taste."

Under the orange clouds inside the Loen Kingdom. Audrey and Kim Soo met up in the unnamed valley.

Kim Soo was dressed like a proper noble child. He was wearing glasses that had strings connected to his hair tie. Half of his black hair was flowing with the gentle wind, and half was tied upwards.

The usual halo that was supposed to chime was silent. His angelic parts were hidden perfectly. Even if the two are the only ones there. Kim Soo didn't like the feeling of his halo being seen out in the open.

"I'm glad. I baked it before travelling here."

"Really? You're so admirable, Auntie."

Audrey tilted her head, smiling. Kim Soo was acting like a child. She had thought that once they were alone. Kim Soo would be all silent, just as Klein had mentioned to her when he disliked the atmosphere.

But Kim Soo enjoyed the apple pies and ran around the field with Susie. They played tag and hide-and-seek, then picked out some flowers.

Susie enjoyed it, and Kim Soo enjoyed it too. And now Audrey regrets she didn't join earlier. Now the sun is setting. But the scene was a sight to behold.

"Pretty..."

"Right? Do you want to play with me again?"

"Hey, I want to join too."

Kim Soo turned to look at Audrey and smiled, his bangs falling across his face, even after running all afternoon. He didn't look messy and ignoble-like.

The blond angel tucked her hair back and puffed her chest. Oh, she'd win this game of tag.

Kim Soo rolled his eyes and walked to the plain parts of the valley first.

He turned and held his hand up to Audrey, offering her to join them in the plain plains. The sun would take 15 more minutes to finally set. Why not enjoy playing at the given time left before Kim Soo had to leave?

-

Cale pushed a lock of his red hair back; he sat on a comfy couch. In front of him are the two Chois. One was fidgeting, and one was looking at him blankly with those onyx orbs.

"I don't need anything from you guys. All I want is to have clues about my missing friend."

"And? It's not like we have clues. There are a lot of people in Rain City who have gone missing, and they only went to the guards to get this matter settled."

Choi Jung Soo pressed a thumb on his furrowed brows. That damn God. He should've said that this wasn't an easy task!

...

Silence filled the room. Cale was waiting for Choi Jung Soo to think about his choices.

"I... I remember my friend walking around Rain City; he visited the hill beside the slums."

He continued.

"He always visited the hill. But then, he suddenly went missing."

It was a lie; Choi Jung Soo can lie, but he isn't like Kim Rok Soo, who mastered foolery and the art of deception. Choi Jung Soo regretted not asking Kim Rok Soo more about the said topic.

"A hill, you say? I heard that there was a tree called 'The Man-Eating Tree.' The way you mentioned it seemed like your friend was eaten."

Cale said, amused, "He hasn't seen the tree yet, but it gave his back chills." It didn't feel true that he wasn't going to fall for it. But his lie had a strong foundation. 'The Man-Eating Tree'

'Should I visit it? '

He doesn't have a death wish, but he was indeed curious.

...

Ron removed his pressed ear from the door; his benign smile was missing. His puppy, young master, would go out with these smelly punks. And Cale would probably tell him not to follow him.

Ron will follow him anyways. The one named Choi Jung Soo stinks like blood the most. Choi Han smelled like your usual murderer, but Choi Jung Soo smells like a menace.

Leaving Cale with them would be a huge problem.

'Fine. If I were to help you, I'd have to go to the tree you had mentioned.'

Ron was sure Cale said it with his legs and arms crossed. And is incredibly curious.

-

"How was staying out with Ms. Justice?"

"It was fine; I like her."

Kim Soo leaned closer to Klein's hands as he preened his released wings. A hum singing against the echoey room of his. He didn't have a lot of stuff. He didn't want them. All he wanted were books, pens, and paper.

Klein complied and gave them all.

"I'm glad; she was a fun person to be with, right?"

swahh...

"She is."

Klein chuckled. Kim Soo was such a little brat. But he felt bad. Amon would come for him tomorrow morning to ask him why he didn't come.

Carefully, Klein brushed the soft hair with his hands. The wing shivered at the gentle touch.

Every wing of Kim Soo's was cleaned and perfectly healthy.

The pair of wings on his ankles also had the same treatment as the others. Kim Soo walks barefoot on the Sefirah Castle.

He wasn't barefooted. Every time the sole of his feet was supposed to touch the ground, a shining baby blue color appeared and protected his feet.

"Ma."

"Yes, dear?"

"How was your day? I have told you mine, but you never told me about yours."

Klein inwardly sweats; he isn't the type to lie right in front of his son. All he did the whole day was do divination, reflect on some things, and observe through the glasses he had given Kim Soo.

Kim Soo didn't ask why Klein took a few seconds to respond. He was probably thinking about whether to show his secrets or lie.

"I spent the whole day doing meetings, writing, and recreating some objects by hand."

"Really?"

Klein nods, his eyes closed. He didn't want to see Kim Soo's doubting eyes. 'Meetings? 'Hah, what a joke.

Kim Soo sharply eyed Klein; he was suspicious. Although he is suspicious. He ignored Klein and turned to hug Klein.

The god was shocked at Kim Soo and hugged back subconsciously. The carefully preened feathers on Kim Soo's head were moved from their place and became messy.

Kim Soo didn't look like he cared; the wings underneath his ears are always messily fluffy anyway.

Two beings tangled up together. One was snoring. And it was Kim Soo.

The whole day of playing with Audrey knocked his consciousness out of tiredness.

Klein shook his head with a tired smile. He adjusted Kim Soo's head to rest against his chest. Kim Soo's halo created twinkly sounds. And the diamonds shone beautifully.

Damn. He created one of a kind, huh?

...

SLAM!

"Eek!"

Kim Soo jumped from his seat as a crow landed on his halo.

He could feel a slight tilt coming from the only sturdy organ.

Surprise, surprise, it's the crow!

Subconsciously, Kim Soo lets his halo lower down where he can reach the crow.

"SQUAWK! SQUAWK!"

Pinch...

Kim Soo harshly reached upwards and took the crow with his small hands. And due to having short hands. He only grabbed the crow's wings.

Not like he cares, though. The Angel dragged the fat crow down and placed him on the desk in front of him.

Two small hands are squishing Amon's crow body. Making him look more pudgy than before.

It was cute.

"What is your business here?"

"I am here... to fetch you, because you didn't arrive yesterday."

"...?"

"Will I go with Amon and you?"

"Hehe, squawk a lot! Many friends to see!"

Yeah.... Fuck, a meeting with crows then.

...

Unbeknownst to Kim Soo, Klein wasn't lying when he said he had meetings. Those meetings are different....

Klein had to release some stress, and Amon was there; he is everywhere and... You know, you know.

Klein lost the ability to walk for a few hours, but he managed to walk without issues. His damn back just aches like a bitch.

...

"Hello, how are you, little angel?"

...

"I'm doing well. I apologize for not attending yesterday. I had matters to attend to."

"At your age?"

"Yes, at my age."

...

"Hello!"

"Oh my!"

"His cheeks are so chubby!"

"Wifey fed him well!"

"Oh yes! Yes! Wifey fed him so much he looks so cute!"

He got swarmed by a never-ending swarm of crows. And do they mean 'Wifey'? Are they talking about Klein? It had Kim Soo curious inside.

As the crows gave comments to Kim Soo. Amon cheekily watched with his eyes shaped like a crescent moon.

Kim Soo's halo was used as a chair for 8-9 crows due to Kim Soo enlarging his halo.

It created sounds of a broken bass to show his obvious annoyance when the crows are moving too much.

'These cows weigh more than a fucking house! '

The Angel thought as he smacked a crow with the neat wing of his ankle.

Why are they trying to eat his feathers??

"Preen us!"

"Yes!"

"Squawk!"

Kim Soo quirked his brow and crouched down to preen the loud crow.

The process was fast but effective.

Kim Soo knew how to preen his wings because Klein taught him, and he learned quickly. Now he used techniques he had personally created and preened the crows one by one.

It was getting louder, but Kim Soo was focused on preening the loud, fat Amons so much that he didn't notice the real Amon messing up his large wings.

A smile weirdly wider than before.

-

"Mhm... Now I know why it is called a man-eating tree."

Cale hummed. He brought 15 bags of bread and made the Two Chois carry them.

He threw the insides of the first sack and knocked on the wood.

No response.

Cale ordered the two to leave and wait for him under the hill, which the two complied with.

Cale then carried the second sack and poured the contents in. This time, a voice echoed inside his head.

'What the fuck? '

-More... Give me more...

'Did I just discover an ancient power? '

Cale smirked as he held the third sack.

He might spoil the Chois for this...

Fuck, what a treasure.

Chapter 8: Cinnabar

Summary:

The reason Amon went to schedule a meeting was completely different from what Kim Soo had expected, why did he randomly bleed out of nowhere?

Chapter Text

Half of the meeting was spent playing with the crows. Amon seemed like he didn't care about that.

In reality, Amon was softening Kim Soo up for the upcoming conversation. He half-heartedly knew that this won't end well if he immediately acted

without any mental preparation.

Ever since Kim Soo’s arrival, which shouldn’t have existed in the first place.

Amon didn’t know the full details of why Klein became pregnant in the first place; he and Klein never approached sexual intercourse that day or yesterday.

Klein complained about it during his pregnant days but never asked why. Why didn’t he do any divination on himself that he would surely do if he ever got sick? Klein was a paranoid person since battling Amon.

He just unrivaled so many techniques and methods Klein never thought about using. Some were cruel, gory, and unimaginable. Amon hides under the coat of a sheep.

Klein doesn’t have full control over Amon. He was sure Amon would betray him soon. But it never came.

They spent multiple nights under the same bed, and no harm was done between them. Unless you include the scratches on Amon’s back.

Kim Soo watched as the last crow pecked the pearl of his halo and flew away. The wind was harsher than earlier. Kim Soo felt cold. It reminded him of the forgotten angel behind.

He gulped internally. Amon was silent.

Odd.

The angel thought about the upcoming conversation. He was intrigued.

Kim Soo was about to think once more, but Amon opened his lips.

“Little angel, I brought us some tea. How about you take a seat?”

‘Oh’

Kim Soo spun on his calcaneus that was supported by the grey fog and walked to the table he assumed Amon prepared.

The table was filled with multiple kinds of desserts. Cake, biscuits, flower jellies, and… cookies… The tea served was lemon grass. It wasn’t lemon. Thank god.

Kim Soo sat on the chair, his lowered halo lifted itself to adjust and flew a meter above Kim Soo.

At Amon’s silence, Kim Soo started to talk first.

“What are we supposed to talk about?”

“Oh, don’t worry, this matter wouldn’t take long. Lower your guard around me, mm?”

‘Like hell I would.’

Kim Soo stayed silent in his seat; he didn’t know what Amon was planning to tell or ask him.

At his silence, Amon took it as a sign to start and snapped his fingers.

It echoed around the place, as if they were inside the room. The air became cold.

Breathing suddenly felt like a challenge under Amon’s eyes.

‘Shit, did I mess up?”

Kim Soo suddenly felt dizzy, his head pounding like it had heartbeats.

His halo screamed.

‘Fuck-shit!’

Kim Soo curled forward. Hitting the table in the process, he slammed hard enough that he could feel blood trickling down his eyes and nose. It ached, his skull felt like it was stabbed, it fucking hurts! It hurts!

“You have a foul mouth for a child.”

‘..What?”

“Is this what Klein taught you?”

Kim Soo couldn’t hear his halo screaming in pain. Amon felt like he was inside his mind. His nasal bone and vomer felt shallow.

Before he knew it, his nose was bleeding.

“..W, what the fuck?”

Kim Soo stuttered. He successfully lifted his head and was shocked to see that only his nose was bleeding. The previous thick atmosphere softened

His head was covered in sweat, and his hair was messily sticking to his pale skin.

Amon looked worried, like he didn’t just manipulate his mind into smashing on the table.

“Why did you suddenly lunge forward? And why are you sweating?”

Kim Soo scooted back, traumatized. The sudden pain disappeared as if it were all an imagination. His brain was fried under those 15 seconds of hallucination.

Did he ever talk shit about Amon? Well yeah, he always does, but.. It felt like he got massively offended that Amon never cares about.

“Have you already healed?”

“As expected, let's continue.”

Kim Soo’s breath hitched when Amon reached towards him with a handkerchief.  Fuck, he got traumatized.

Nervously. Kim Soo grabbed the handkerchief from Amon’s hands and wiped the blood that made him look like a horror movie character.

The white handkerchief was instantly dyed red before turning brown in seconds. His blood dries fast..

Weird, Kim Soo asked himself if his blood worked like that all the time.

With steady breathing, Kim Soo nodded his head and leaned back in his chair.

Amon... didn’t feel like Amon there.

A comfortable pause.

“How well did you adjust in this world?”

“..I adjusted pretty fast .”

“Do you know which pathway you are?”

“The Fool pathway, sequence 5 visionary.”

“Oh, impressive. For a child, you seem to know a lot.”

“I crave books and.. Being curious is one of my specialties.”

Amon chuckled, a hand placed on his knee as he leaned on his closed fist. He continued.

“If you ever had the choice to come back to your original world. Would you prefer to stay here or there?”

“..To be honest…”

Kim Soo paused. He has a mother in this life; everything he wanted was here. What more could he ask for?

“I prefer to stay in this world.. I have nothing to return to in my world.-”

“Everything is broken, I don’t have anyone or anything to return for.”

Amon smiled at Kim Soo’s honesty. Judging from how Kim Soo was treated as an angel. He was in complete luxury.

Was he a poor person in the world he came from? Or what he means broken was.. His world itself?

Curious, he didn’t ask Kim Soo about it. Instead, he’ll ask Klein about the conversation he had with a certain someone.

Oh, and Kim Soo suits the Fool pathway perfectly. Amon compliments him on that.

A perfect son and father duo?

Amon couldn't help but widen his smile.

-

Cale stepped out of the carriage, a satisfied smile temporarily stitched on his face.

“Welcome back, Young Master.”

Ron greeted. As usual, Cale walked passed the old butler and patted his shoulder.

“Tell Beacrox to cook something tasty for Choi Jung Soo and Choi Han.”

“Yes, Young Master..”

When Cale passed by, Ron’s benign smile turned downward. He didn’t get to follow Cale up the hill. He left the puppy young master, alone with these people and.. Himself.

His young master had been causing trouble left and right, and one of those troubles he accepted was to be the person who would help Choi Jung Soo find his friend, named Kim Rok Soo.

Ron never cared about Cale's so-called tantrums, but for the wrists underneath the sleeves he was wearing.

The late Countess's death affected Cale like a nuclear bomb. The little child handled the funeral like a pro, thinking his mom was only in the other room reading books.

But as the time passed, the excuse Cale had gaslighted himself for a few months faded. The manor was so dead, the gossips of pity coming from the servants around him, and his father pushing him away.

Deruth wasn't pushing Cale away harshly, but so gently that Cale feared he might disappear into thin air and disappear like his mom.

And he fucking did.

Cale fell into such despair at Deruth's sudden disappearance when he was having breakfast all alone at the table.

His father left him without a note, no one in the seat of the count. Who would keep the territory in check now that Deruth's gone?

Cale.

A 9-year-old child who still can't move on from his mom's death, and Deruth followed with his antics to forget about Drew.

The child was smart enough to lead the territory, the mansion, and handle politics.

His relatives and other nobles in meetings offered to help him by saying he should give up the responsibility and give it to them.

Cale wasn't an idiot who would fall for any of those lies. He pushed everyone outside. He crammed ruling and studying at the same time. He aimed to be a fountain of knowledge who knew everything. But learning starts by being curious.

So, he spent days and nights becoming a much better count than Deruth. The citizens liked Cale and how he developed the territory. The slums were rebuilt, and food was being distributed to the poor.

Equality was shared. The economy rose, and proper training was given to the knights. And many more.

Cale's influence rose, and he became more popular. The citizens already chose and saw Cale as the current count, even if said count was still a child.

Months passed, and no Deruth returned. Cale spent his new normal slacking and doing his duties on the bed or the couch. He managed to multitask as if it were his third hand. His studies ended weeks ago. He finished his course, which he chose 'politics'.

He focused and shifted his interests to civil affairs. Cale had a thought that his father was truly gone and had left him to hold his position as a count.

When Cale finished setting up a scheduled meeting for his Negotiations. A knock interrupted his thoughts. 13-year-old Cale answered with an audible 'Come in please'

The door opened with a maid leading ... His Father, a woman, and a little boy trailing behind her.

Cale's breath was punched out of his lungs as he stared.

His father left him for this without a letter?!?

Cale handed the position back to Deruth and started locking himself up inside his quarters, when the new maids Deruth hired knocked at his door to eat. He replied that he was busy, then silence came after.

The maid was confused. Why would the young master be busy when the position was handed back to Deruth?

But still, the maid turned her heel and went to the count's office to inform him.

Only Ron knew about Cale's 'busy'  matters.

Once, he entered Cale's room, he was hit with a pungent smell of blood.

Ron thought there was an assassin who came for Cale. He approached the bed and clenched his fists at the sight.

Cale's forearm was tied with white pillow sheets that were dyed with his blood.

Slowly, Ron untied the fabric and was met with red lines, red lines that are surely not measured at all.

Red lines that are purely created from emotions.

...

Ever since then, Ron had to make sure no possible self-harm could touch Cale.

Unlike before, Ron supervises Cale's drinking habits.

'2 bottles only every day.'

Cale whined about the small proportion, but Ron was tough.

He knew how many bottles Cale drinks before getting wasted, and 2 was far from that.

By supervising Cale, he avoids the harm and things Cale would usually do alone.

Beacrox spent his free time with Cale.

The redhead enjoyed the attention given by the two Molans.

Not only did he manage to come over the era he considers one of the hardest, but he also accepted the family Deruth came back home with.

Only Violan, the woman Deruth bought home with, knew Cale didn't hate them. He just didn't like to interact with them.

Cale protects Basen from people who criticize him.

With the influence he had built over the years from being a temporary count. Many respected him and respected his decisions.

When Cale acts like Trash, many of the citizens turn a blind eye.

But to make Cale satisfied, they bestowed Cale with the title 'Trash' so that he could peacefully sleep at night.

And it did. Cale slept peacefully at night, thinking everyone saw him as trash.

But all they saw was Cale finally showing off his childish acts that he had missed in the previous 5 years.

Even if Cale was still a child, he holds outstanding knowledge about politics, biology, swords, and everything you can think about. But mostly, he is smart in academics.

He folded every student he came across with in terms of public debate.

To be fair, not only students but also old people who were considered 'smart' by society.

And even after having all of these, Cale still has those red lines.

Ron didn't know why his young master still did these actions.

But Ron has a gut feeling it was about his mother, Drew.

...

"Thank you for the meal."

"Thanks!"

Choi Han politely clasps his hands and takes a bite out of the steak.

Choi Jung Soo smiled widely and shoved a spoonful of rice first.

They were confused at the sudden yummy food Cale had given them. But it was free, Choi Jung Soo gladly accepted it.

If only Kim Rok Soo were with them. He'd enjoy the food with a hand on his cheek at the luxurious food. Preferably drooling too.

-

"What do you think?"

Kim Soo stretches his wings like how a bird would, his back bending, and the diamonds chimed in delight.

Amon smiled at Kim Soo, his hands holding a fork and a cake.

The syrup that stuck on the fork slowly dripped on the floor.

It was red, beautiful. Disturbing even. The so-called syrup on Amon's cake doesn't look like syrup at all.

...

Kim Soo's limp body earlier was a sight to see..

Earlier, when Kim Soo banged his head on the table, reality wasn't with him anymore.

Amon calmly watched Kim Soo's body fall from the chair and land on the floor with a low thud.

The blood trickled down from the table and to the ground, dripping on the fallen cake that had fallen when Kim Soo's head fell on the table.

Luckily, the cake was still in pieces, but 'syrup was overflowing on the cake. Making the white vanilla cake taste sour.

Kim Soo smelled like death. Amon dislikes the smell and decided to take matters into his own hands. Klein doesn't have to know, even if he finds out. He'd try to twist the situation elsewhere.

Kim Soo would explain a whole different story to him.

The angel was too young to even understand the power of his sequence.

Amon carried the young angel back to his seat, his hand forcibly shoving a worm of time inside Kim Soo's mouth.

Forgive him for a short while, okay? He will remove it soon..

He needs to talk with a certain god who dares to rub such a disgusting scent on him.

Kim Soo choked on the worm, and tears left his limp body. It convulsed.

His halo, which would usually scream if he was hurt, was silent and dull.

As if Kim Soo were dead.

Amon ignored it. He needs to hurry. Kim Soo's body would heal and wake up soon.

Currently, he is talking to his clone in the dream world.

A thumb was placed on the bloody middle of Kim Soo's forehead. Then, light shone.

...

Amon opened his eyes and saw himself drifting through space; everything was dark just as he had expected it to be.

He looks around and spots a lighter spot on his left. With the least strength he mustered, he lunged towards the black space, and it swallowed him up.

Like a bloomed flower, the black spots separated and hugged the Amon.

The hug was supposed to be suffocating, but Amon could barely even feel it as he was dragged inside.

The light blinded him after the black void swallowed him.  Amon curses as he closes his eyes. Oh, he'd fucking fuck up the God behind these lights.

Amon landed on a blank space. In front of him was a tanned man with white hair.

The man had a serious expression, hands crossed as if he were waiting for Amon to arrive.

God of Death..

Amon had so many questions, and he'd cram them all in less than 20 minutes. This old man in front of him will be his victim.

The older angel smirked, his cheeky personality coming right back up..

Chapter 9: Shards

Summary:

The God of Death and Amon battled in Kim Soo's soul; the process was hellish for the god since not only is he careful not to shatter 'Kim Rok Soo' but the battle also affected Kim Soo's body in the real world.

Also, a little fluff.

WARNING : Contains gore

Notes:

I planned about changing how I write rn, we have Kim Soo here and Cale at the next chapter.. Eh, this is starting to feel like a horror fanfic.

ANYWAYS ENNJYJYOYOYOY <3

Chapter Text

Amon watched Kim Soo pop a cookie inside his mouth.

His lips smiled, but his eyes didn't.

Kim Soo's lips were bleeding, his frontal, which was the front of his skull, was fucking cracked open. His mushy brain's insides dripped on the table or on his hands.

It was fucking disgusting.

Well, only for normal people. But not Amon and the Amons.

These practices are normal.

Totally,

What the hell was the Real Amon doing to Kim Soo's body?

Why is he bleeding like he was getting skinned alive?!

The clone clenched his jaw as he continued to watch Kim Soo eat more snacks. The brain falling out put the clone in a rare state of anxiousness.

Kim Soo didn't seem to know what was going on.

Even if his hands were smeared with his mushy brain. The angel didn't see it at all. He continued enjoying himself.

Kim Soo hummed in happiness as he sipped on a cup of tea. He was 'sweating' from the 'heat'. His hands were cold; he wanted to warm them up.  Tea was the only warm thing that could warm his hands.

He could feel his head being lighter than usual; was it because of earlier?

Kim Soo raised his hands to swipe his hair back; it was getting sticky.

Uncomfortable.

....

"Fuck!"

The ground cracked and broke from the impact. Amon was fucking playing with him! The God of Death clenched his jaw; he couldn't fight offensively, he could only stay on defense.

If he dares to even remove the black shield covering him, Amon would drag him back to his dimension, which was hundreds of worlds away.

He does NOT want to see Klein.

Even if he is powerful than Amon, he couldn't find a proper opening to attack back without getting pushed back.

This crazy bastard..

"What's wrong? A god like you should be stronger than this, right? Hehehaha!"

"You fucking punk!"

Amon laughed insanely as he landed another attack on the white haired god,

He was barely stretching his fingers. Playing with beings who aren't beyonders but still have enough power capable of protecting themselves..

Ah, it felt like playing with kids! Kim Soo was probably hugely better than this.

Amon swallowed his non-existent fears and continued to throw more. If only he had his former abilities..

He'd crack this god up in no time.

"Sixth question..-"

"No- I can't! The vow will break If answe-"

"Why does Kim Soo smell like your damn smelly corpse?"

The God of Death opened his mouth to answer a question that has yet to be told.

"I can't!"

Boom! Craccckk..!

Amon wasn't giving him a break. No way.

It's only been 6 minutes.

Should he just fucking kidnap the god? But how? Travel dimensions? Seemed like a fun idea.

The god was pushed back, his heel was creating loud screeches on the floor to keep his ground from the continuous attacks Amon gave him in all directions.

If only Amon gave enough openings to attack back.

If only he could escape from his trap.

The time set was 30 minutes. Only 6 minutes had been spent.

The time was running much slower than expected.

“And why?”

“A vow of Death..!”

“..? Oh.. You did that with Klein?”

“N, no!?”

Ugh! Klein’s angels are worse than him to negotiate with.

Klein was a patient man who’d talk about this topic with warm tea between them. Amon was not.

This menace.. He thought that he would start a friendly conversation because he was a god . Not only is this punk disrespectful, but his way of coming here was gruesome!

Kim Soo’s body in Amon’s world lay limp on a chair. Head cracked open, blood running everywhere. His long black hair wrapped both the chair and the ground in darkness. The hair flowed like fluid.

The god was shocked and fucking disgusted at Amon.

He came here, not by via ritual but via murder?

He’s only a silly criminal who does your typical crimes. He isn't that bad.

Klein said as he sipped his tea, his eyes calmly closed.

He didn’t take the word ‘criminal’ seriously because of the ‘silly’ in the same sentence. And shit on the side, why hasn’t Klein arrived yet? Shouldn’t he feel it when a string was cut and destroyed?

Even though the god didn't belong there, he knew marionettes and clones were supposed to alert the holder if they ever went missing. So on so forth.

What the hell?

God of Death wasn’t only thinking about Amon’s wrath when Choi Jung Soo also existed. Not only does he get beheaded by this Angel if he lets his guard down.

But Choi Jung Soo would come and murder his last remaining fragments.

What a horror fucking movie.

Klein holds Arrodes in his arms. He couldn’t feel Kim Soo’s presence anywhere.

Tap, tap, tap ….

“Darling.”

Klein didn’t turn around. Amon was behind him. And he stank with blood.

“You stink.”

“Ahahaha, I was told multiple times.”

An unfamiliar head poked Klein’s lower back. It was taller than Kim Soo, and his hair wasn’t short,

Sigh…  Klein turned his heel. Arrodes stayed silent. Did it sense something was off?

“Good afternoon, Mr. Fool.”

‘What?’

Klein looked down to see Amon holding a decapitated head of an acquaintance.

What, what?

What the hell is the God of Death that was supposed to belong in another dimension doing here?

Dumfounded, Klein answered.

“Good Afternoon…-”

Amon raised the head and waved it in the air. His smile was stiffer than it usually was

“Oh! I’m sorry to disturb you two. Shall I prepare two cups of tea? Talking in the hall doesn't seem very noble-like."

Amon said sarcastically, It was odd seeing Amon’s right leg tapping the floor impatiently. Did he leave something out in the open? Oh, speaking of leaving something.. Where is Kim Soo?

Klein shook his head at Amon's antics and gave him a stare.

“No, don’t worry. Arrodes will handle it. You can leave now.”

“Really?”

“Yes, really.”

The decapitated god’s head was given to a weirdly colored tentacle. For his opinion. Then everything went black for the head.

Klein had bonked the white haired god and disappeared into thin air. Amon also disappeared after Klein.

They both had a business to attend to.

He still had to stick Kim Soo's skull, and preferably give him a new brain. But he didn't take on the thought completely. Kim Soo's new abilities might help gather the spoiled brain back inside that soft skull of his.

Hopefully, his body handled the impact of the battle inside his soul.

...

The Amon inside the dreamworld felt faint signals coming from the main body. The real Amon was telling him that it ended well; he managed to get back safely on time and even brought something back with him.

"Did you enjoy yourself?"

Amon asked with a cheeky smile. Kim Soo's plate of cake was eaten, and the cookie jar was empty.

He would've taken the situation as a cute lunch outside. Only if Kim Soo's blood and brain weren't dripping everywhere.

The clone clenched his jaw as he waited for Kim Soo to swallow the last bite of his cake.

"I did, it was a good lunch."

"I'm glad you enjoyed."

Kim Soo's lightheadedness never went away the whole time he was munching on his food. Instead, the pain and nausea increased the more minutes he spent sitting there. The food made the pain feel dull, and Amon's occasional talking made Kim Soo focus on the voice talking to him instead of the growing dullness inside his head and heart.

He wants Klein to remove the pain for him.

His mother was the only one who knew how to remove the pain. He can only. He had seen his mother fixing strings above him once when he was supposed to be sleeping.

Were those strings his faith or his life?

Kim Soo didn't want to know.

Amon's smile finally dropped as he looked coldly at the now-cracking body. The gruesome sight was a sight for sore eyes.

Kim Soo's body went limp, then it fell forward. And when it was about the hit the table. Soft water cushioned the fall, and the space cracked. Then, a transparent-looking substance bursted in all directions. The dream was ending.

The clone knew it was time to leave. The scent of death was starting to overwhelm him.

...

Ting..! Ting..! Ting..!

Amon wiped the sweat coming down from his forehead. The strings connecting Kim Soo's conscience to Klein were bent, and some were compacted from the earlier battle with the God of Death. If Kim Soo did die. Klein would feel his death severely. It would hurt like a bitch.

Klein would feel it all, every single thread and string that was connected to his body.

Every single thread that was bent and broken. Klein would feel the pain. Much less if it snapped, Klein would feel a sharp pain in his chest before it would disappear like it never existed.

Damn, traveling around the whole cosmos seemed to be far easier than trying to straighten these special strings. Well, yeah fuck, it's his fault for being here anyway. He had to pay the price.

Kim Soo's body was stitching itself slowly, worms crawling out of his skull to gather the mashed brain on the ground. Amon wanted to laugh at this. Kim Soo's current state is enough to scare normal people away, or probably pass out from the gore coming out of the small body.

The worms ate the soft brain. Some who are already finished. Crawled back to Kim Soo's head, who was still stitching itself back together with the help of Amon. They were still inside the barrier Amon had created ever since the 'picnic' started. Klein could find them easily by relying on the grey fog, as they are currently inside the Sefirah Castle.

But Klein is busy. Either he'd talk to that god or ask him a question like Amon did. Of course, without violence. Amon had already traumatized him enough.

A..h...A...A....aA..Bzzz

Amon softened the tip of his fingers on the slightly bent part and straightened it perfectly. His mind drifted to the Mother. Fertility. None of the pathways could cause infertility, even men aren't safe from getting pregnant.

Sequence 0 or above. Making them pregnant would be difficult. Only their fellow high sequences can make them pregnant or a high-ranking angel.

Smirk, the God of Death, gave them a little blessing; he was grateful for it. Even though Kim Soo grew up so fast. He'd try. The world isn't just going in his favor. He should've asked the mother to impregnate Klein first before that god would. How did they even meet?

Amon's smirk dropped. He forgot to question it.

Kim Soo's halo vibrated on the ground. His consciousness would arrive soon. Amon still had to clean him up and clean this place up. A child's bones were so fragile, huh?

Amon placed a clean, gloved hand on Kim Soo's cracked skull. The worms, who were still eating hurriedly, crawled back to the head. The angel would heal Kim Soo immediately, and they wouldn't have a chance to return to the brain. Amon waited patiently for the worms to enter before he clenched his hand. It covered Kim Soo's whole head.

Shiiingg,,, aaasshowwp

"A, ah Ahh!!"

Kim Soo screamed in agony.

...

Kim Soo trashed awake from the bed he was lying on, face cold with sweat. Head pounding like it was hit by a hammer.

Did the crows cause his headache?

Kim Soo pressed a hand on his head to suppress the pain. What happened yesterday?

A small mockingbird watched Kim Soo, its tail wiggling from left to right. This little mockingbird was used to being a crow.

He was only here to observe Kim Soo and inform Amon if he started showing 'symptoms'

The worm that Amon forcibly made Kim Soo eat was removed to not set his life in danger and not accidentally parasitize him. He could control it. But it was better to take things properly than wait to see Kim Soo die.

"Ah.. it hurts.."

A chime responded to Kim Soo's voice. The little angel was familiar with the sounds his halo gave, like he remembered. Showed how he felt.

Why did it respond? Can Kim Soo ask questions? The little angel tilted his head upwards and watched his usual rotating halo above him.

The diamond-shaped symbols were now shaped differently than before.

'Why do they suddenly look like the hands of a clock?'

'What happened?'

The angel was confused by the change.

What the hell did Amon do?!!?!!?

Kim Soo resisted the urge to scream and observed the little details of the newly formed shape of his halo.

It looks sharp. What if he accidentally hurts Klein with these sharp things?

Slowly, Kim Soo touched the hands, which trembled against his touch. It intrigued the little angel and gathered the courage to go up. His halo adjusted on his will and lowered itself, now. Kim Soo could touch the halo's base.

The first touch sent shivers down Kim Soo's spine; his wings fluffed up.

'Oh, this is what it feels like, hm..'

Kim Soo could feel his headache slowly dissipating as he caressed the halo. The feeling felt good too.

His eyes lidded up; he suddenly missed his mother.

Uwwaonng..

'Oh god.. Fuck..'

"Yes, yes...  I would.. Uwah,.."

Kim Soo felt that his eyes were swelling up, and his vision slowly filled with tears.

Dammit! He already missed his mom! It hasn't even been a day!

Unknownly, the crows who were stalking the child were alerted immediately.

"Look, his crying!"

"Why is he crying? What happened?"

"What?! He is?"

"Call the main body!"

"Sqauwk!"

....

Amon was walking on the streets of Backlund. He was out looking for some desserts for Kim Soo. He felt bad about the wasted food that was smeared with Kim Soo's brain. On his left arm, 4 bags were filled to the brim with clothes, toys, and novels.

The disguised angel also bought some suits for Klein and bought him some spices. The god liked to cook when his motivated. And recently, he has been cooking like a proper housewife.

It made Amon scowl at first when he saw Klein cook. His job was supposed to be with Kim Soo, and Amon was supposed to cook for them. Though he won't complain. Klein looked hot in an apron.

When Klein and Kim Soo sleeps at night. His a fucking crow sleeping right beside them. Klein mostly used his pudgy body as a stress ball. It was cute in his opinion. And Kim Soo would sometimes squeeze him late at night.

The Angel was supposed to proceed to the next stall when a swarm of crows attacked him.

All of them are loud and annoying to the people around Amon.

"Child is crying!"

"Sqauwk! The child is crying for you!"

Blah, blah, blah.

Amon listened to their yappings, and he walked over to a nearby alleyway, left a clone there to continue shopping, before teleporting to the Sefirah Castle.

When he arrived at the place where the majority of the crows are, he chuckled at the way they were pecking at his shoes.  But it didn't last long when he looked at the Kim Soo whining Klein's name,

"Mommyyy..!"

Awaong, awaaonggg...

As Kim Soo wiped the uncontrollable tears coming out of his eyes. He felt familiar hands that were bigger than Klein's grab him by the underarms and made him sit on their lap.

"Ah... How troublesome."

Amon said with a smile that Kim Soo couldn't see, he patted the little angel on his lap, and occasionally patted the spinning halo. The older angel inwardly sweats. Klein could only faintly hear Kim Soo's signals. It wasn't as clear as it was before.

Said older angel knew he fucked up.

He accidentally modified Klein's GPS for Kim Soo.

Chapter Text

"Could you repeat your words?"

Cale asked Deruth to repeat his sentence.

Not because he didn't understand, or didn't hear it. But he was flabbergasted. His father wanted him to attend?

Currently, he was standing in front of the count's desk. Beside him is Basen, who was standing stiffly. Cale wasn't fit to attend any more noble events like these because of his rash behaviour and his attitude. But even with these complaints. Many nobles still wanted Cale to attend because he was 'talented.'

More like Cale would be a judge for their idiotic decisions.

"Yes, Cale. You will go to the royal palace as our representative."

Crossed arms,  Deruth observed Cale's disbelieving look.  As if he just cut off his allowance. A drop of sweat on Cale's cheek showed his uneasiness.  Sadly, Deruth knew Cale was trying to escape from his previous negotiations.

These negotiation plans were created when he was still seated on the chair as a temporary count. He was foolish to think that he'd stay there longer. Many nobles who knew Cale's actions were for the greater good. Asked to form deals with him that were associated with either concerns inside territories or trading.

Cale accepted the deals he could take on at that moment and started the projects. Some ended early and were successful, and some were canceled.

And because of the canceled negotiations. The nobles were either furious or devastated at the loss.

Deruth opened his mouth and continued. A serious expression on his face.

"Though Basen was supposed to go, you are the eldest son. You must go."

"The royal palace has sent out invitations to all the children of noble families. Bassen has also attended similar events for two years now.  But  I want you to go there this year."

'Fuck.'

Cale knew he was fucked.

He felt goosebumps covering his skin from the thought of the children of those nobles coming up to him and asking. 'Why?' 'Why didn't you continue the projects?'

Silently, as Deruth was yapping to the two of them. Cale glanced at Bassen. A strange thought flowed against his fried brain. Which was fried for no reason, but still.

'I heard Basen normally goes to official events like these. Should I beg father to take him instead?'

Cale deadpanned inwardly. He almost forgot he told Choi Jung Soo that he'd help him find his friend.

And.. also, Cale didn't want to be inside any prominent danger waiting for him outside.

What if he meets someone unpleasant at the event?

The redhead hopes he won't.

"You may leave in five days."

Deruth finally said his words and was about to adjourn the meeting, but decided not to. He raised his hand and patted Cale on the shoulder.

A faint curve was visible on his lips.

Basen watched with silent eyes.

"Before Basen, you used to go to these gatherings as our representative. I'm sure you still know how to socialize. Try to remember how to talk to other people was like."

"I see.."

"You may go now."

Cale nodded his head at Deruth's announcement. He turned left and walked out.

Basen stayed inside the office for a few seconds before following after the eldest.

It wasn't supposed to go like this. Why did his father send him out to attend the event? He was trash. He'd probably ruin the reputation of the County.

A sigh left Cale's lips as he watched Basen leave the hallway by entering another door just across from him.

'It wasn't supposed to go like this.'

Cale rethought his choices. He was forced to attend the event, accepted Choi Jung Soo's request, and decided to test his ancient power out.

It was too late to change his actions.

The redhead released another sigh and ruffled his hair up with his right hand. His legs automatically moved to lead him to the library. He should write things up so he would have a backup plan if anything goes wrong.

Cale knew his actions were OOC for his act, but he felt the need to write and go to the library. His gut was itching for some books, Cale hoped.  His steps were calm and calculated, and his expression was blank. Void of his usual expression in front of people.

The halls didn't have any maids or butlers walking around; it was safe to let go of his precious 'act'.

Click.

uuuu..

cluck.

When Cale entered, he walked inside the library till he was standing right in front of his study. Ron was waiting for him with a benign smile.

"Young master. Your study is cleaned, and this Ron brewed a cup of lemon tea. It awaits you."

Ron presented the nostalgic desk in front of Cale. No formed dust was left on the surface, his chair was new, and a new pen with brand-new ink was sitting on the right side of the wide desk that was created for paperwork.

Cale hummed at Ron's preparations. He won't take long here, though, but he was grateful for the new objects inside his study.

"You may go now."

"Yes, young master."

Cale waited for Ron to leave the study before he found himself seated on the desk. His study was somewhere deep inside the library.  It was placed there since he was little. Not because Cale wanted silence, but he enjoyed the smell of books, and if he was finished with his work. He'd pop a book to read.

The redhead grabbed a piece of paper from a huge stack on his left. Ron must have thought he would be brainstorming.

He placed the paper on the desk, next he opened the ink container, then cracked his knuckles.  Time to start. Oh! And if the Chois went and tried to find him. They'd have to go through such a maze before reaching him. At such a thought. Cale rolled his eyes.

....

"God of Death! Hello?"

Choi Jung Soo knocked on the book that served as their communication tool. The god was oddly silent; no loud chatter and no energy coming out of the book. It's been 4 days. The god never stayed this quiet for a long time.

Did the god cut him off? Cut him off in this world?! Abandoned him?

Choi Jung Soo stomped on the dirt in frustration, nearby. Choi Han tilted his head at his nephew's actions. What had gotten him all so riled up?

His eyes traveled down to the black book Choi Jung Soo was holding. He heard Choi Jung Soo speak about this book multiple times, but never once did he receive an answer.

The energy he felt in the book also disappeared. As if the god had left Choi Jung Soo alone. Choi Han knew more than to assume it was. Choi Jung Soo said the book replies, it’s just that its energy was low.

Okay..

Choi Han sighed at Choi Jung Soo, who made the book his motivation to train harder. He could see his white aura flunchating through the air around them.

Please. If he wants to destroy something, please not here in the training grounds where there are people who could get injured..

-

“You communicated with a wanderer and told him that he could find Kim Soo in that world?”

“Yes..”

Klein spun the book. The god of Death gave him, or we should call him Nyx. The conversation started all peacefully, Klein, giving Nyx a temporary body given by the grey fog. And a few adjustments.

“Hm.. This does seem good for communication.”

Klein traces his hand on the spine of the book. The texture felt nice to touch, and it was perfectly heavy to stay comfortably in his hands.  Out of everything he thought about, he decided to give it to Kim Soo.

Only if Nyx agreed to it. He isn’t like Amon, who’d steal things for fun. Well, he means. For Kim Soo’s state.

Nyx, noticing his acquaintance’s gaze on the book. Smiled, his handsome face lighting up as if he hadn’t been bodied a few hours earlier.

"You want it?"

"For Kim Soo, yes. He likes books."

Klein looks at his half-filled tea. And wonders if this communication device could react to Choi Jung Soo from here. The signal outside and inside the Sefirah castle is quite good and powerful, even.

If he could create anything he wanted, even a supernova to bomb Amon. He could effortlessly make the signal stronger to contact Choi Jung Soo. And once he contacted the Korean male, he'd then give the book to Kim Soo.

Speaking of Kim Soo. Klein wondered if the child was sleeping. He couldn't feel any buzz or chime coming from the halo that was supposed to inform him about Kim Soo's surroundings and emotions.

It seems to be peaceful around Kim Soo's surroundings. No one pecking him in his sleep, no mental problems. Kim Soo was fine. Alhough.. Klein felt something weird; he couldn't feel Kim Soo's location using his halo. If he ever did think he got his child's location. He was sure it won't be accurate.

Nyx swirled his tea with a small spoon. He noticed that Klein was interested in the book. For what reason? Obviously, Kim Rok Soo.

This guy, Zhou Mingrui, was an old friend of Kim Rok Soo before the apocalypse. They were friends in elementary school before Zhou Mingrui had to go back to China; they had a good relationship. Zhou Mingrui's mother often lets Kim Soo stay for the night whenever the poor boy gets kicked out of his house by his uncle.

Because of the treatment Kim Rok Soo received from his uncle. Zhou Mingrui treated the older one as his brother. Sharing his lunch with Kim Soo, protecting him from bullies, and so forth.

And in return. Kim Rok Soo helps Zhou Mingrui with his studies and teaches him from time to time. The two of them really enjoyed their days until Zhou Mingrui had to say his goodbyes.

They couldn't take Kim Rok Soo from his uncle because his uncle would scream at them. Told them that Kim Rok Soo was his responsibility. Responsibility where? He couldn't even cook for the poor child, and couldn't even manage to clean the house.

Zhou Mingrui made a promise with Kim Rok Soo that he'd talk with him once they were older.

It happened.

One day, when Kim Rok Soo opened his cracked phone. An unknown person added him on his social media.  Unknown to the other Koreans around him. But Kim Rok Soo knows best. The familiar Chinese characters, the photos in his account, the familiar face of his 'brother', even though years had passed.

Hurriedly, he opened the message. No messages. It was okay, Zhou Mingrui must be shy.

A friend of Kim Rok Soo, Choi Jung Soo, saw his friend's expression. He was confused and took a small peek at the cracked device Kim Rok Soo was holding.

Chinese Characters.

Immediately, Choi Jung Soo knew who it was and wrapped his arm around Kim Rok Soo's arms to drag him back to the cafeteria, where Lee Soo Hyuk was waiting for them. A small relieved smile was on Choi Jung Soo's lips. He, Kim Rok Soo. Found his long-lost friend. Even though it's only on social media.

Starting from that day. The two kept each other updated, sending each other pictures of their lunch, friends, and more.

Until. One day, Zhou Mingrui never texted Kim Rok Soo back.

The boy was confused at his sudden disappearance. He coped with Zhou Mingrui's absence with the common. 'He will come back, his phone was just damaged.'

'He will come back.'

'He will come.'

Until the apocalypse started. Kim Rok Soo buried the thought that Zhou Mingrui was still alive. He busied himself with missions and hung out with Lee Soo Hyuk and Choi Jung Soo a lot.

Until tragedy also arrived.

Kim Rok Soo woke up in an unfamiliar person's arms. His body is small.

He felt confused and alerted.

While the person who was holding him was so happy.

Klein felt so grateful that he met this god. Or else, he might have never met Kim Rok Soo again.

"Are you thinking about giving the book to Kim Rok Soo?"

"...Yes."

"You can have it. Just give me an artifact where I could contact Choi Jung Soo myself."

"My pleasure."

-

Crack- Boom!

"Aye, aye, calm down there, buddy! Why so angry?"

Hillsman approached Choi Jung Soo, who just broke a training dummy in half with no sweat. The cheerful sunshine was dimmed by the clouds. Choi Jung Soo was suddenly gloomy.

"None of your business."

"Oh. I didn't mean to offend you for all sorts, but what happened for why our Jung Soo suddenly became Jag Saw-"

Choi Jung Soo spat an ugly glare at Hillsman. He was mad, anxious, worried, scared, all at once. The god was silent! Shit, should he just leave this world and go find the god?

So many weird options flowed through Choi Jung Soo's charred mind.

Until a familiar vibration inside his pockets made him snap from his glare and suddenly disappear in front of Hillsman.

In confusion, the Captain rubbed the back of his head and subconsciously mumbled.

"Huh? Where'd he go?"

...

Choi Jung Soo appeared in the Henituse territories' library. Out of all of the private spaces. This was the safest. It was rare to find any of the Henituse family members in the library. Lily Henituse's interest was in swords, Basen is interested in writing and learning more, Cale Henituse...is Cale Henituse.

The Korean walked deeper inside the library. He needs to handle this and scold the god for not giving him any reminders before he left.

He found a secluded corner in the library and sat on a low shelf, which creaked under his weighed, but does he look like he cared? No.

Flip...

[Hello, I'm glad you opened this. I hope you weren't worried and missed me in my absence.]

"I wasn't worried, nor did I miss you. I was worried because I might never find Rok So-"

[Calm down, I have found Kim Rok Soo.]

At the news, Choi Jung Soo almost bursted out of an adjacent window in happiness.

"Where? Where is he?"

Hearing Choi Jung Soo failing to hide his anticipation. Klein answered, but Nyx was the one who wrote in the book.

"He is with a deity, this deity is the Mysteries themselves. And Rok Soo became his one and only son."

[Kim Rok Soo is safe; he resides with The Lord of Mysteries and has a high position there.]

][He's fine.]

It was different from what Klein had said. No way he was going to write that. Nyx rubbed the corner of the pen his currently holding and waited for Choi Jung Soo to reply.

"A.. a deity? From where?"

[Somewhere far.]

"..Where is he?"

[Calm down, child, you won't meet with Kim Rok Soo yet. Be patient. You will be able to talk to him soon, but I am not sure if you two could meet personally.]

"Talk to him? Through what?"

[You have so many questions. Just wait.]

The god and wanderer talked as they usually do. The topic was switched as soon as Choi Jung Soo agreed, as if they were talking face-to-face.

It didn't take long for the talk to end, and the god said he had to attend to other matters. Choi Jung Soo said his goodbyes and placed the book back inside his pockets.

He stood up from his seat on the shelf and walked to a nearby corner, his mind in a daze because of the news from the god.

Bump.

Choi Jung Soo was met with red hair.

"I didn't know you talked to gods."

"How was it like?"

'Shit.'

...

Choi Han watched silently as Choi Jung Soo was getting pitched in the ear by Cale. He winced at how pinpoint Cale was hitting Choi Jung Soo's mental capacity.

He was glad he had never entered the library before.

He heard that Cale was already tired from researching and writing plans, but Choi Jung Soo was talking to someone very loudly inside the library where Cale was studying.

That was the only thing he knew.

Hans called him to go to the young master's bedroom to talk about the deal, but he came across a near-sobbing Choi Jung Soo and a Cale whose hands were on his hips, scolding the little brat for being loud as he was studying.

He sweated.

Gosh, how loud was Choi Jung Soo to make Cale act like this?!

...

A small huff escaped Cale's lips as he eyed the two Chois. Choi behaved. Hand on his lap, Choi Jung Soo looked like a kicked puppy. His eyes were puffy, and his hands were also folded on his lap.

Good.

Cale crossed his arms and started speaking. A map was already rolled out on the table between them.\

"Can you both read the Roan language?"

"Yes."

"Yes!"

"Okay, we'll start together-"

Cale pointed out the Henituse territory, then traveled his fingers through the map until they reached Puzzle City.

"-Until we get here."

"Then you guys will follow my note."

The two Chois nodded at Cale's instruction.

Cale had a reason why he wanted to travel with the Chois first before leaving.

The second son of the Marquess, Venion stan. Even if the two of them had never gotten close. Cale knew some secrets Venion didn't even share with anyone.

Cale called himself lucky for having to accidentally snuck a look at Venion's assistant's hands, a few years back. The documents weren't fucking covered by any source of folder or anything that could practically hide the information and deal inside it.

Only did they cover it when Cale pointed out what it was.

That bastard formed a trade with an organization called "Arm". Cale didn't care what Venion gave to the group, but to the being Venion received.

It was a baby dragon. Just fresh out of the egg.

Cale swallowed the bile rising in his gut as he continued to converse with the bastard.

He was curious about why would Venion Stan do this? He knows it will tighten his position as the heir, but.. Why?

Both of them had fake smiles. And Venion was worse than plastic.

The reason why he wanted to travel with these obsidian-eyed freaks,

It was because he'd steal that dragon from Venion Stan. No child deserved to be in the hands of a filthy person like Venion.

How did he know the location where the dragon was hidden?

Because of the damn amount of lights near a mountain when Cale was coming back from Gilbert's territory, and stayed at a nearby inn.

One might say Cale must've gotten it wrong, but Cale saw it with his own two eyes. Black suited bastards carrying a squirming child inside their filthy hands.

Cale wants to throw hands.

"We will separate once we finish the job. After that. You guys are free to roam around. Save whoever people you wish."

"But of course, come back to the capital."

....

"Give me the book."

"W, What?"

"Give me the book where you talked to a god."

"But.."

"I know."

Choi Jung Soo looked like he doubted Cale's words, but only sighed when Cale wouldn't budge.  He gave the black book to Cale, and the redhead immediately took the book from his hands, grabbed him by the ear, and dragged him out of the library.

Choi Jung Soo was forced to wait inside Cale's room for a few minutes before he got scolded, then Choi Han arrived.

What did Cale do to the book?

Did he succeed in talking with the God of Death?

Chapter Text

Hey guys, when I said my uploading will be like a cat trying to run with short legs..

I mean it.

It rained very heavily in our city, my apartment was flooded from above this afternoon until 17:00 (The roof had a fucking hole that I didn't know), and bad luck is hitting me on all sides. Hopefully, it won't affect my grades as a student who's a part of the top 20 honor students.  Also, me and my mom's relationship is starting to crack like soft glass.

But that doesn't mean natural disasters will stop me. I will upload.

(Uploading schedules might be blurry and not every day, but it will still be often.) I will upload every two or three days. Time will still be the same. 9 pm to 11 pm. If I didn't upload in any of those times. The next chapters will be uploaded tomorrow or the day after._)

Don't worry if I don't upload every 2-3 days. I either forgot or I didn't get to click post. Or I am switching apartments.

Stay safe!!

Chapter 12: Nonsense

Chapter Text

As Kim Soo went back to sleep.

Amon was trying to reshape the child's upper body. Not only did he make the child crack his skull, but he also reshaped the halo in the process. The formerly diamond-shaped symbols were replaced with clock hands. And the halo that had holes on the inside to release the sounds of chimes was replaced with a certain case of a clock.

Not that it was ugly, but the design was screaming, "I'm Amon!"

The monocle-wearing angel knew he was going to die at least once or twice for his foolish action. He was lucky that Klein was taking his time with that white-haired bastard, but... Klein would arrive sooner or later.

He had thought about giving Kim Soo to Ouroboros. That guy was called the ‘Angel of Faith’ for a reason.

Could he manage to help Kim Soo with this matter in a short period of time?

The angel fixed his monocle and decided to lock in. Thinking uselessly won't help him fix Kim Soo.

Amon cracked his knuckles. He placed his right hand on the decapitated head of Kim Soo that he had taken off so that he could work on it properly.

Silently, the angel said short prayers to his brother to revive him if he died permanently this time. In less than 5 seconds, once Klein entered the room. Amon would surely disappear if he saw him right now.

.

.

.

Like a fake surgeon trying to perform surgery for money.

Amon was feeling like it.

7 minutes felt like 7 long hours of hell. Amon was holding the not-floating halo of Kim Soo. The layers were separated on a table that Amon stole from somewhere, and placed each hand of the new clock hands by height on the white table.

As neat and harmless as it looks, Kim Soo’s diamond-shaped symbols are created by acidic mercury that he and Klein can only control, without Kim Soo’s consciousness and Klein’s instructions. The mercury would still stay in shape, but the liquid would create changes to the things it touches.

To make things clear, the mercury actually doesn’t hurt anyone or anything if Kim Soo is awake; it only activates when the base of the halo screams for danger, or if Kim Soo is unconscious.

For example, the active halo plays audible music to Kim Soo. The vibration created by the music will travel down to the falling veil that covers Kim Soo’s whole body and let it know that Kim Soo is safe.

And if the halo didn’t create any more new sounds in the past 25 minutes, the substance will fall like thick water, and everything that couldn’t handle such acidity will either die or melt.

Said active halo was separated into clean layers.

Amon was worried that the separated hands would fall into a liquid state.

He needs to hurry.. Like really needs to..

...

"Thank you for negotiating with me. The deal was incredible. I do hope I'll get to form another with you next time."

"Oh, Haha. Don't worry. There are many opportunities where we could form more deals in the future."

Klein awkwardly laughed at Nyx's words. Thanks...  but he doesn’t need the god for his personal shit.

. He'd rather use this god to either grab Choi Jung Soo there and grab Lee Soo Hyuk from the depths of hell he is, or fully fool the god to release the most valuable information ever.

Both choices seemed favorable.

Fool the god, ask whatever he wants, then grab the boys. Easy.

"Hm.. Yeah, you should return now. I'm afraid this castle will kick intruders out once they reach a certain time limit."

“Intruders?”

“Yes?”

"It can't be helped?"

"I'm afraid not."

"That's a shame.. It would've been fun to stay here for a while longer."

'Longer my ass.'

Klein inwardly clicked his tongue at the other god's obvious attempts to stay a little while longer. He thought about dragging Amon here to scare Nyx away into leaving, but decided against it. Amon was surely still out doing his thing.

Kim Soo wasn't with Amon currently.

That made Klein wonder.

Why can't he feel their connection?

The Fool buried his thoughts at the very back of his mind.

He would use the grey fog to locate Kim Soo, whether he is around the castle or not.

He'd have to deal with this god first..

...

"Shit."

Amon placed the last layer with shaky hands.

He was avoiding all the major veins, including the Superior sagittal sinus, cerebrum of the halo, etc.

He didn't know why he was playing surgeon at the worst time possible.

Maybe to escape Klein's wrath? Definitely.

Amon would escape Sefirah castle and run away to who knows where; however, Klein just knows how to fucking find him and drag him back to the grey fog.

The angel remembered how suddenly translucent tentacles were running after him from the sky and towards him at high speed that he knew he wouldn't be able to outrun them by simply teleporting away.

Kim Soo's halo and head were back in place like nothing had happened earlier, only mere plays, then Kim Soo simply fell asleep on the bed after the picnic. Amon hoped it looked natural. He hoped

The kid lay on his bed, looking tired and disheveled. Kim Soo's appearance made him look like he had come from a long journey and had only tasted bed after a long while.

Amon pushed his hair back and sighed. He leaned back to turn and look and his work on Kim Soo.

Bearable. Bearable in his eyes.

"..I.. it looks good enough."

Amon muttered to himself and left the room manually by foot.

...

Klein opened the door leading to Kim Soo's room.

He held a black book in his hands. Given by the God of Death.

To use the book was as easy as writing on paper and waiting for a few seconds until he got a reply back.

Klein laughed inwardly; it made him remember a few apps he and Kim Rok Soo used in Earth. But this time, it isn’t branded.

Totally.

Klein covered the ‘By the God of Death’ with his hand, and the text disappeared, blending in with the color of the book.

This belongs to him now. Not that idiot.

“Kim Soo?”

‘He’s probably sleeping.’

Klein thought with dazed eyes, the room was dark, and the faint smell of blood was inside the room.

It alerted Klein.

'Did Kim Soo accidentally hurt himself?'

Klein walked towards the small bump on the bed. The book was placed on the bed as he approached and sat on the edge.

The atmosphere was cold.

'What happened?'

Klein pulled the soft fabric that hid Kim Soo's face.

His face was pale, but his neck was flushed red. His hair was disheveled.

The appearance of Kim Soo made Klein think about whether Kim Soo had ever taken a bath before going to sleep.

However, Kim Soo smelled like fresh flowers.

Klein looked up to the halo that was supposed to alert him in any case.

Was there an error with his halo?

Was the error that bad to sever their connection like that?

Soft hands grabbed one of the longest veils of diamonds and took one diamond-shaped mercury and took it from the veil.

Lidded eyes observed the diamond as his hands moved the diamond around; the diamond was slightly bent to the left.

Klein placed the mercury back into the veil of diamonds, and it connected like magnets.

Klein swallowed the growing lump in his throat. Something bad happened.

Something.. Really.. Bad.

Klein stood up from the bed, his hand swiped the air, and strings appeared in front of Klein. It was glowing white.

The strings were connected to Kim Soo's heart, limbs, and soul.

The strings that held Kim Soo's soul were more fragile and thinner than the ones that connected to his limbs.

And Klein could easily see which string was bent.

.

.

.

"Amon.."

Klein grinded his teeth in obvious anger. Not only was Kim Soo's head decapitated 2 times, but the God of Death came from Kim Soo's skull?

He couldn't imagine the huge amount of blood dripping from his child's shattered head just for Amon to drag the god out there.

He didn't want to know whatever process Amon did.

All he needs right now from Amon is his fucking head!

...

'Ugh.. My head..'

Kim Soo placed a hand on his head and rubbed it gently in an attempt to decrease the growing pain as soon as he woke up. His head felt like a cracked egg, and his vision swirled with black dots that blinded him for a few seconds if he tried to sit up.

What the actual fuck happened again?

With the use of his ability, 'Record', He managed to remember a few fragments.

Kim Soo didn't know why he was only seeing fragments instead of the pure, raw scene. It's like something stole his records.

He would see a few scenes, but everything was so fast-forward, he couldn't hear a single word he could decipher.

Awwoangg....

Kim Soo's halo complained.

With a sigh, Kim Soo decided he would try to remember it after eating. Thinking with a full stomach means he could make far more better decisions and would hopefully make him remember about such things.

The little angel took a couple of deep breaths and focused.

He needs to sit up, find Klein, eat, and then sleep.

As easy as that.

.

.

.

"Ouchie.."

Kim Soo leaned on the wall with his shoulders. His hands were pressing on the cold wall for support.

Damn.

Whatever happened at that picnic with Amon caused this headache.

He wasn't even near reaching the door.

Everything is just.. So darn heavy-

Knock! Knock!

Kim Soo stopped complaining and looked at the door; his halo moaned in a familiar tone. Then, a voice greeted Kim Soo.

"Young Master! It's time for your breakfast!"

'Ah, Arrodes.'

"I'm coming."

He replied, It wasn't like he is indeed suffering on both inside and out, but he direly needs food.

How could a person's brain function without food?

With shaky limbs, Kim Soo detached himself from the wall and walked towards the door,

His wings weren't folded upwards but were folded downwards and were dragging on the floor as he walked.

His bare feet, which were supported by the grey fog, also supported the wings that were touching the floor to avoid tangles, pain, or whichever danger that would happen to Kim Soo.

The angel appreciated that.

Click.

Kim Soo closed the door and walked down the empty hallway. Arrodes just disappeared like a bubble in the air. Even as Kim Soo walked with the grey fog on the soles of his feet, it didn't make any difference with the soft-

Pat, pat, pat.

-Coming from his naked feet.

He soon arrived at the dining table. He expected to see a small feast for him as always; however, what met him made his brain go suddenly blank.

'Why is Amon hanging on the chandelier upside down as a crow?'

...

The atmosphere was silent, thick, and oddly scary for Kim Soo.

Klein was smiling at him with his veil half covering his face. He looked gorgeous, Kim Soo complimented in his mind before turning to look at the hanging crow on the ceiling.

Amon's two stick feet were tied to one of the arms of the chandelier, awfully close to the fire that lights up the dining table.

One wrong move could lead to death by burning.

"Good Morning, Kim Soo. How are you?"

"I'm feeling well, mother."

Klein chuckled and leaned back in his chair. He gestures to Kim Soo.

"Sit, we should eat breakfast and talk at the table."

Kim Soo replied with a hum, even with his heavy body. Being with Klein abnormally makes his pains go away.

This made Kim Soo think about staying with Klein and sticking to him like glue.

The angel made himself comfortable on his seat, eyes awkwardly trying to ignore the fat black lump on top of then, trying to flap out of its restraints.

Thankfully, it had a silver shield around it so that the feather wouldn't fall on them.

With a hum, Kim Soo grabbed an already sliced century egg on his plate and topped it with a spoonful of chili before shoving it in his mouth. A hum of delight flowed out of Kim Soo's lips as his halo chimed.

Klein smiled at the sight. Kim Soo is eating well.

He should give more spice, like Kimchi, next time. After all, he already had some fermenting inside his DIY refrigerator.

"Ma, I have a question."

"Which is?"

"Why is Amon hanging on the chandelier?"

...

"For certain reasons."

"These reasons will end up with him burning like a fried crow?"

"Definitely."

Kim Soo sweated inwardly. This is probably Amon's punishment from yesterday. It felt a little tame.

The angel threw all the ideas in his mind and decided to continue eating. Making him safe from the stare he was receiving from the struggling crow, who was unknowingly being electrocuted every 20 seconds for the past few minutes.

~

Klein closed the door of Kim Soo's room and teleported to his and Amon's room. He felt like his blood was furiously boiling.

He didn't mind having crow legs for breakfast tomorrow, rather. It would be tasty.

He wouldn't mind at all.

With a deep breath, Klein opened the door.

Creeek..

"Amon.."

Klein called.

His eyes were greeted by Amon, who already knew his terrible fate and was kneeling on the floor. Hand clasped right in front of Klein.

Klein glared and Amon's actions; he knew what would happen. The Fool looked around the room to find anything as a weapon, but decided that he would use a certain whip that he himself had hidden inside the drawers.

It was supposed to be used for their kinks, and usually, Amon hits him with such things. Now, wouldn't it be too pretty to switch?

Looks like he'd get to ride a dead body, huh.

The whip appeared in Klein's hands, slowly, Klein untangled it, and whipped it across the room. Purposely avoiding Amon.

"Bed, now."

~

"Thanks for the food, Ma, it was delicious."

"You're welcome, sweetheart."

Kim Soo smiled at Klein's reply;  his mother was rather affectionate right now. It was a nice feeling. He didn't know how Klein knew how to make century eggs and a few Chinese dishes.

Earlier, he asked while they were eating, but Klein replied with a short mention that it came from a distant province of the Loen Kingdom.

Kim Soo wanted to believe this statement. Klein was acting too suspiciously on his opinion.

Century eggs, moldy tofu, and spicy dishes.

It was obvious it came from China.

All Kim Soo was waiting for was Klein pulling a Chinese ramen packet out of his pocket.

It would not only be incredibly funny but also memorable.

Currently, the two sat on Kim Soo's bed.

Klein was brushing Kim Soo's hair while fiddling with his wings. Kim Soo stayed complaint and let his mother brush his hair with his fingers.

It was comforting.

Kim Soo loved the feeling that bloomed inside his chest.

His halo chimed at Kim Soo's emotions, making Klein laugh at Kim Soo's failed mysteriousness.

Kim Soo wasn't embarrassed; he just felt a little shy.

The angel covered his face with the pair of wings under his ears and squeezed Amon tighter between his hold.

The crow squawked and the sudden tightness.

"Oh, Kim Soo."

"Yes, Ma?"

"I have a gift for you."

"Gift?"

Kim Soo wondered, a gift? Why? His birthday was still far.

Did he ever do something to receive a gift?

"Yes, well. It's a book, however, you could write on it and somebody would respond to you."

"Is it somehow connected to communication? And, speaking of communication. Who is the holder that holds the other part of this book?'

"You'll know once you open it, of course."

"Ah."

He gets it now.

Does Klein want him to have a playmate or what?

But.. Having someone to talk to is also rather fine to be honest.

After all, maybe it's someone from the world he is familiar with?

"Okay."

...

Kim Soo sits on his desk, the black book open right in front of him.

A fountain pen and ink were placed beside the book.

Before writing on it. Klein introduced him to a language he wasn't familiar with and taught him how to read, write, and speak that language.

As a fast learner, Kim Soo memorized the language and immediately spoke like a fluent however, his accent was slightly off.

But that wasn't the case, wasn't it?

With a sigh.

Kim Soo picked the fountain pen and wrote in the newly acquired language he had learned.

[Hello.]
