Chapter Text

Pond sat at the back of the classroom, bored out of his mind as the class waited for their professor. He can see his friends trying to bother their boyfriends at his peripheral view. And once again he is hit with envy. God, how he wished his boyfriend (amazing, wonderful, beautiful, and most amazing boyfriend) studied in the same school as him too.

"Class, good morning! I'm sorry I'm late. I had a few things to discuss with the Dean. I also had to orient your new classmate for this class! He transferred from the other uni across the city. Ha already took the prerequisite to this class so he enrolled in this class. He is a year younger than you, so everyone, best behaviors! My dear, come here and introduce yourself."

"Hello everyone."

Pond froze in his seat the moment he heard that sweet voice."

"I'm Phuwin, a junior. And I'm also a part of the cheerleading squad."

Pond looked at him, mouth open, eyes wide in surprise.

"And to Captain Pond Naravit."

Everyone in class turned to look at him.

"Surprise, love. I'm here!"

“You’re telling me that the transferee is Pond’s secret beau?”

“Yep, apparently he called capt love during introduction.”

“And Pond apparently ran up to him and started hugging and kissing his cheeks right then and there. While the professor was there.”

Satang, Fourth, and Gemini muttered between each other, all of them munching on fries.

“Hello!”

The trio stopped talking as they heard a voice next to their table.

“I’m Phuwin, the transferee? Omega. I think I’m in most of your classes as a junior. Would you mind if I sat with you guys?”

A silent beat passed before the trio nodded their heads.

“Sure, capt’s boyfriend right?”

“Yup, that’s me!”

“Cool. I’m Fourth, alpha. This is my boyfriend Gemini, alpha. That’s Satang, beta.”

“Nice to meet you Phuwin!”

“Anyway, are you really Pond’s secret omega?”

The omega giggled as he sat down, eating a piece of fry.

“Yeah, have been for 5 years now.”

“Woah, long time. Why did you guys keep it a secret?”

“It wasn’t supposed to be one. But well, with both of us not being active on social media and being in different schools. We just didn’t care that much about publicizing each other’s faces.”

“Ah, got it.”

“How about you guys? Alpha and alpha relationship? How does that work?”

“Hmm like normal, mostly. I guess it’s just that we both love being spoiled and spoiling.”

“Cool. How about you, Satang? Single.”

“Oh, no. I have a beta boyfriend too. He’s in an outreach thing this week, so you’ll see him next week.”

“Cool. Uhh, I would love to be friends with you guys. You seem really cool.”

“Heck yeah. You’re like, the flower of the group now.”

“Hmm?”

“Yeah! You don’t get a choice. Unless… wait will Pond be upset if somebody else is protective over you?”

“Oh no! He loves it when people take care of me.”

“Great! That’s settled then.”

“Hello my love”

“Hi, lover”

The trio openly gawked at Pond as he sat next to Phuwin.

“Oh hey guys. Are you Phuwin’s friends?”

“...yes”

“Awesome, take care of Phuwin for me when I’m not there.”

“I can take care of myself, love.”

“I know my love, It would just make me feel so much better if there’s people helping you out since you transferred.”

“Uh… yeah Phuwin, we got ‘ya. Don’t worry about it.”

“Awesome. Thanks guys.”

The trio nodded slowly, catching a glimpse of the rest of the basketball team stealing glances at their table.

“Uhhh, I think the rest of your friends are looking for you P’Pond.”

“Nah, they’ll be fine.”

The trio looked at each other with disbelief in their eyes as they watched Pond drape himself over Phuwin more and more.

“You’re heavy.”

“That’s because my heart is so full of my love for you.”

“Wow…” Gemini said with an amused smile, “didn’t realize you can be this sappy capt.”

Pond chuckled, delivering a chaste kiss on Phuwin’s cheek.

“Yep. Just never had the chance to show my sappiness because my baby,” Pond delivered another loud kiss on Phuwin’s cheek, “studied at a different uni.”

“Well, I’m here now.”

“Yep, so everybody else should be ready to get sick of me.”

The trio could only stare as the pair started giggling.

I think we already are .

“Your team is staring at us.”

“Let them,” Pond grumbled as he turned to bury his face on the omega’s stomach.

Phuwin giggled, delivering a loud kiss on his alpha’s temple as the man laid down on his lap. 

“Uh.. captain?”

The pair looked at the owner of the voice. It was Santa, one of Pond’s omega friends and teammates.

“We kinda need you… for you know… our practice game? Like, right now?”

“You guys can handle it.”

“We actually can’t though… we need one more guy.”

Pond grumbled again, ignoring the younger man. Santa gaped at their captain, looking at Phuwin helplessly. The omega giggled before slowly coaxing his alpha to face him.

“Darling, you have to go play with your team.”

“I don’t have to…”

“I beg to disagree–”

“Ta, you’re like a brother to me but I swear–”

“Tsk. Don’t do that.”

Pond looked at Phuwin with a pout, very clearly sulking because he got scolded.

“Go practice with them. I’ll cheer you on from here, okay?”

“But love…”

“Or would you rather I cheer on that alpha from the other team–”

Phuwin can only laugh at how fast Pond stood up. Santa, bless him, gaped in surprise as Pond pulled him to the court, mumbling about ‘asshole alphas’, ‘show them not to mess with my omega’, and ‘I bet they have small dicks’. 

“You got him wrapped around your finger, huh”

Phuwin looked up in surprise at his new trio of friends standing behind his seat.

“Playing him like a fiddle.”

Phuwin grinned at Gemini’s words.

“Well, I know him best.”

“Well done, well done.”

Phuwin sat there with the trio, cheering Pond on as they played against the other team. The alpha was ruthless, making them win with a large gap.

“So, how will you guys celebrate?”

Phuwin giggled as he stood up, dusting off his skirt.

“That’s for me to know, and for him to find out. Bye guys!”

The trio watched as Phuwin ran up to Pond, making the taller man catch him (effortlessly) in his arms.

“Who’s that?”

The trio looked up from their snacks to look at what Phuwin was pointing at. It was a pretty omega with large puppy-like eyes and pink lips, prominent dimples on her face. Her short hair is tied into low pigtails decorated with ribbons that match their school colors. Her cheer outfit seemed shorter than necessary. She was talking to Pond, but the taller one didn't pay her any attention.

“Ohhhh, yikes,” Satang whispered.

“That’s Chompoo. She’s an omega too,” Fourth answered Phuwin, “Captain of the cheer team.”

“Hmmm…”

“Yep, pretty popular,” Gemini said while munching on some chips, “She’s liked Pond for like, a year now.”

“BUT he never reciprocates. Right guys?!” Satang added in a panic.

The couple suddenly sat on alert, scrambling to agree.

“RIGHT! He always ignores it!”

“It’s just Chompoo’s really pushy!”

“Yeah!”

“Hmm.”

Silence enveloped the four, with their newest addition just staring at his alpha. Pond must have felt the stare, as he looked at the omega from the court. The alpha grinned, waving at Phuwin like a lovesick puppy.

“Are you… jealous?” Satang asked, “I mean, there’s no reason for you to be jealous at all. You have the man wrapped around your finger.”

“Hmmm… no, not jealous,” Phuwin smiled and waved back at his alpha, “I just don’t like it when people openly flirt with my alpha. I know I can trust Pond, and I do. But it’s hard pushing down my instincts, it’s like my omega is mad at me for letting… her touch him.”

The trio looked at him, surprised at what the omega said.

“You can do that?!”

Phuwin laughed at Satang’s high pitch.

“Yeah, he can get really loud in my brain too. But it’s really annoying. Which is why…”

Phuwin stood up, dusting his skirt as went. With a swift move, he picked up the unopened water bottle beside him and walked towards his alpha. Pond, on the other hand, was using his phone as he continued to ignore Chompoo.

“Darling”

Pond looked up as he heard Phuwin’s voice.

“Hello love.” 

Pond immediately opened his arms, smoothly pulling Phuwin to sit on his lap. Phuwin can see Chompoo beside them, trying to push out her chest while she lets out more of her scent. Phuwin, irked by the audacity of the other omega, started releasing his own scent to coat Pond.

“Hmm… you smell so nice, baby.”

Phuwin’s omega preened at the alpha’s compliment. On the other hand, Chompoo, upset at the omega’s show of dominance and the alpha’s obvious disregard of her, stomped away, her citrus scent turning rotten as she got upset. 

Phuwin purred, his strawberry scent turning even sweeter, blending beautifully with Pond’s rich dark chocolate. With a soft smile, he leaned down to rub his sweet scent all over Pond’s gland, which the other gratefully accepted, completely oblivious of Chompoo’s antics.

“Hmmm…”

Phuwin smiled as he felt the alpha purr, nuzzling further into his side. Phuwin, in turn, started depositing small kisses at Pond’s gland. They were in their own little world, Chompoo completely erased from their thoughts.

“You think Phuwin forgot about us?”

“Yup.”

Fourth giggled, giving Gemini a loud kiss on his cheek as he stood up.

“Let’s go home.”

“You just want to scent me.”

“Fuck yeah I do.”

The couple left, leaving Satang to watch Phuwin and Pond. It wasn’t very long before he stood up too.

“I’m out of here. Where the hell is P’Winny?”

“Phuwin, you okay?” Boom asked his co-cheerleader, worried, “You seem tense.”

Phuwin let out a strained smile, trying to relax as he nodded.

In fact, Phuwin was stressed. Very stressed, in fact. One of the reasons why he decided to transfer schools (aside from wanting to be close to his alpha), he was trying to run away from someone. A very creepy, obsessive, and pushy someone. And that someone has been glancing at him from across the basketball court. When did that asshole even play basketball?

“Are you sure? You can sit this one out,” Nani said, his sweet voice paired with his sakura scent made Phuwin smile a small smile.

“I’m… just worried.”

“Of what? Do you need me to beat someone up for you?” Dunk, the only alpha in the cheer team, offered.

Phuwin shook his head, letting out a loud exhale. He tensed once again as he felt the sleazy alpha’s gaze on him. His strawberry scent must have changed because their cheer captain Book went to him with worry etched on his face. 

“Phu, you okay?”

Phuwin nodded again, consciously trying to look and smell less tense, especially before a game. He didn’t want to worry Pond and his team.

“I’ll tell you guys later, okay? But uhm…,” Phuwin hesitated.

“But?,” Book prompted.

“Can you guys help keep player number 4 from the other university away from me?”

“Of course.”

“Thank you.”

Phuwin smiled, grateful for his team.

The game passed peacefully. His cheer team kept true to their promise, all of them blocking Phuwin every time number 4 even came close to their area. 

Their team won, so everyone was in high spirits. His alpha, in particular, was being crowded in the middle, everyone celebrating their win and his final shot. 

Phuwin hung back with the other cheerleaders for a minute, but he didn’t realize his other team members had already moved to join the large crowd, too focused on watching his alpha. It was all going well, until he smelled a nauseating smell of candy corn dangerously close to him. He quickly turned around and saw the man that he was actively trying to avoid. 

“Uh…”

“You’ve been avoiding me.”

Phuwin took a step back as the alpha stepped closer. He tried to glance behind him, but everyone was still celebrating. The amount of people in the gym did nothing to help his case, his scent barely coming through in the sea of different scents and sweat everywhere.

“Why? You even left school and went here. Why, huh?”

Phuwin looked at him, annoyance seeping through his expression.

“Why did I leave school? You were harassing me! You went everywhere I went, and tried to act like we’re close! You followed me to my apartment! And you're asking why I left school?! Are you insane?!” Phuwin hissed, frustration bleeding into his voice.

“I never harassed you. I just wanted to hold your hand!”

“And who said you can do that? You just kept– trying to grab me!”

The other male, in full audacity, tried to grab Phuwin’s hand once again. Phuwin quickly dodged, letting out a laugh full of disbelief at the man’s absolute insanity.

“What the fuck?! Don’t touch me!”

“And I wasn’t following you! I just wanted to know where you live so I can pick you up for school.”

“Do you hear how psychotic you sound right now?!”

“Phu you don’t understand, we’re meant for each other.”

“Don’t call me that. And in no world are we even meant to be in each other’s life.”

“No! You’re made for me!”

“What th–”

“What the fuck are you doing?”

The gymnasium turned silent at Pond’s chilling voice. His scent rolled off in waves as he stared straight at the man. 

“Again, what the fuck are you doing to my mate?”

The other alpha growled, giving a pathetic attempt to release more pheromones. As if his artificial scent can cover Pond’s own.

“He’s not your mate yet. I can still–”

He was pushed down before he could even finish talking. Gemini stood above him, while Fourth put himself between him and Phuwin. Satang took his place beside Phuwin, trying to release his clean mint scent to calm Phuwin down.

Pond looked at the man unflinchingly, taking one step at a time. Each step felt tense, heavy, and filled with anger. 

“What the fuck are you doing to our shooting guard?!”

Before the other team can even get close to their teammate, Pond’s team immediately barricaded them from getting closer. Joong was glaring at them, freezing them to their spot. Aou looked alert, ready to deal with any troublemakers. Santa looked pissed, absolutely disgusted by them. Sky stood lazily, but his limbs were taut with tension, ready to defend his team no matter what.

“Your sorry excuse of a point guard harassed and stalked our friend. Did you not hear or are you just playing deaf?”

“Or did you all just ignore it? Because none of you have actual balls to stand up to him?”

“Or maybe you just don’t care because it doesn’t affect you?”

“Or maybe you’re all just sorry pieces of shit.”

The gym turned silent, all of the other guy’s teammates fleeing. The other guy yelled, trying to stand up to run after his team, but was stopped by Gemini standing over him, feet standing at his shooting arm.

Pond stood in front of him, anger rolling off of him in waves. Phuwin tried to shake off his own anger, quickly going to pull Pond away from the other guy.

“Baby, hey.”

“...”

“It’s okay. I’m okay. Don’t do anything you’ll regret.”

Pond looked at Phuwin, his scent spiking to cover his omega.

“That’s it. I’m okay, Nara. My love, my Nara. I’m okay, see?”

Pond nodded, burying his face on Phuwin’s neck as he pulled the omega into his arms.

“Phu, go home. We’ll handle this guy.”

Phuwin nodded at Satang, grateful for his new friends.

The pair went straight to Phuwin’s car, not minding the obvious lack of their bags. As soon as they went inside the backseat, Pond pulled Phuwin into his lap, pulling him close enough to completely soak the younger with his scent.

Phuwin combed his hands through Pond’s hair, murmuring sweet nothings and giving him small kisses as he also released his sweet strawberry scent to calm Pond.

“My love?” 

“Hmm?”

“Is he the guy you were telling me about?”

Phuwin nodded, as he gave Pond a small kiss.

“He’s an asshole.”

“He is.”

“He’s so fucking rude.”

“He is.”

“He smells nasty.”

“He does.”

“His voice is annoying as hell.”

“It is.”

“He’s bad at basketball.”

“He is.”

“He’s ugly as hell too.”

Phuwin laughed at that, his boyfriend’s voice getting poutier as he talked,

“Hmmm, he is.”

Phuwin gave Pond a sound kiss and then rubbed his nose over the alpha’s cheek.

“I love you. Thank you for protecting me.”

“I barely did anything…”

“Yes you did. I don’t know what you saw but I saw my alpha and my found family protecting me.”

“Hmmm…” Pond smiled, “They did protect you, didn’t they.”

“They did.”

“I’m glad.”

“Me too, baby.”

Pond pulled Phuwin’s face closer to his, giving his omega tiny kisses all over his face, before kissing Phuwin deeply.

“I love you my love, so much. I’ll do everything to protect you.”

“I love you too, Nara. So much.”

The pair kissed again, before hugging each other close, listening to their love’s heartbeats.
