Chapter Text
Rob sat down on the cold, moist dirt in the junkyard, he didn't care. After the day he had “a long day” would be an understatement. Yet another plan failed, just like always. Why does he keep trying to destroy Gumball? He's destined to fail, he’s a mistake anyways.
-
Gumball was walking with his brother Darwin outside. They didn't have any destination in mind, it was a nice summer afternoon. The sun was out with no clouds in sight, the birds were singing, and there was a slight breeze which made up for the hot temperature. They were extremely bored and had nothing else to really do, until they walked by the junkyard. It was the most interesting place to go on this boring day, so of course they wanted to check it out.
Sure they've been there before but really, what else was there to do? They walked together for a little until Darwin spotted a certain glitchy sleeping teen.
“Dude, isn't that Rich?” Darwin confidently said to Gumball.
“Yeah it is..” Gumball then started waving his arms towards Rob and yelled in a happy tone to get his attention. “HEY.. ROY!”
Rob, half awake, immediately recognized that voice. He sighed because he knew what being around him meant, trouble. Anything that involves him is ALWAYS trouble. He slowly turned around to face the infuriating blue cat, and rolled his eye because of how annoying he was.
“Great, just what I needed…” he mumbled sarcastically, he then paused for another second before saying “What do you want?”
“Why were you sleeping in the junkyard?” Gumball said innocently looking at Rob who was clearly getting more angry.
“What.. di-did you not know I was homeless?” Rob said annoyed after taking a deep breath
“Why would I? You never told us about yourself.” Gumball confidently stated.
Rob looked like he was about to strangle the cat. “WHY DO YOU THINK I WAS LIVING IN YOUR BASEMENT?” He then took a deep breath and continued. “..I've told you I have nowhere else to go…” he took another few seconds “Don't you ever pay attention?”
“Huh..? Wha-” Gumball confusingly said, he was distracted by looking at a butterfly with Darwin.
Rob was finally about to hit his limit. “This is EXACTLY why I HATE YOU! You NEVER listen, and you don't care about anyone but yourself.” Rob paused for a second closing his eye to take a moment to calm down and think. “But why would I expect anything different from you? You're the “main character!” you always get a good ending, it doesn't matter what happens to you, because everything will be okay in the end.” he sighed and looked away from Gumball. "At least you get good endings..” Rob mumbled.
“Uh, Ron?” Gumball said as he exchanged glances with Darwin. Rob looked clearly annoyed that Gumball got his name wrong again, but gave up correcting him. Gumball then continued to speak. “Mabye we could find you a place..?” Rob still had his back turned but he opened his eye wide. He lowered his head back down.
“I-I don't know..” Rob confessed.
“Dude, just make a decision, anywhere is better than sleeping in this dump..LITERALLY!" Darwin stated, talking for the first time in a while.
“..If you stop annoying me then maybe I'll give it a try.” Rob said, starting to regret his decision.
“Well, let's go then!” Gumball happily cheered as the three of them walked out of the junkyard determined to find Rob a home.
