(Small guide)
“Normal text”- Talking in theater room, and descriptions of what's happening in the theater room
“Bold text”- talking on screen, and descriptions of what's happening on screen
“Bold Italic”- Truth speaking to everyone
“Italic”- Any thoughts the characters are thinking while reacting
As our lively cast of fullmetal alchemist all live throughout their daily lives, we see the Elric Brothers with Colonel Roy Mustang in his office at eastern command. Just after explaining what happened during their mission in Liore with the false philosopher stone, a bright light surrounds them.
Slowly waking up Edwards and Alphonse looking around the strange room at their friends, fellow Amestrian soldiers, and some people they’ve never met before. As the others begin to awaken the boys look to each other, upon Ed’s face there is much worry.
“Brother… where are we?” Al asks in a hushed tone while looking at his elder brother.
“I don’t know Al, It’s certainly not eastern command…Hey look, is that Winry and Granny??” Pointing toward the two who had just woken up, seeing Winry helping Pinako up off the floor where they had both been previously laying.
The boys make their way over to the two and the others begin to talk amongst themselves. Asking each other where they are, why are those from the north and even from Xing here, and most importantly after some of the soldiers see Scar why they don't have their weapons. For our state alchemist amongst the panic they try to transmute but they cannot. With that realization all the worry each of the soldiers and state alchemists had shifted from scar to their lack of weapons and alchemy.
“What the hell??? Why can’t I use my alchemy?? Al, you try!” Trying to follow his brother's instructions Al reaches for his chalk but cannot find it where it's normally stored. He looks to his brother in panic.
“Brother my chalk is gone!”
“Damnit!” Before the boys could continue they heard the familiar voice of their old Alchemy teacher.
“EDWARD ELRIC!!! So you went and became a dog of the military huh?!?!?” Ed jumps and grabs on to his younger brother's armor holding on to him for dear life.
“Huh.. AHH Teacher!! Uhhh Don’t kill us!!!”
“Yeah! Please don’t hurt us Teacher!!” Stomping her way over Izumi Curtis with her husband Sig following behind reached the boys.
“Well it seems as though my idiot student decided to forgo everything I taught him and join the damn military!!!” She states looking down at Edward with shadows covering her face making her look more terrifying.
“Teacher please don’t kill brother!!” Upon hearing Alphonse’s voice coming from the very tall suit of armor, Izumi stops and turns towards the younger brother.
“Alphonse? Is that you? My my you’ve certainly grown up!” She reaches her hands out towards the youngest Elric brother.
“Wait Al!! Don’t it’s a trick!!” Before any harm comes to the boys from their old teacher a familiar voice is heard.
“Now now let's not harm each other…”
“That voice…” Both Ed and Izumi stopped face full of panic at the recognition of the Truth’s voice.
“Good you’ve stopped. Now I’ve brought you all here for a reason. I want you all to watch what’s going to happen to Amestris in the coming years…” Even without them being physically in the room just the tone of their words indicates their smiling after that reveal.
Shaking himself out of any fear he has towards Truth, Ed speaks up in a more hushed tone than normal.
“Okay… and what do we have to give in exchange for watching the future…?” Truth chuckles at that.
“Oh I’m glad you haven't forgotten that little alchemist… But the exchange is that I get a good laugh from your reactions. I thought about having you all receive pain but knowing there’s nothing you can all do to change what you’ll see, well I’d qualify that as a decent exchange along with myself getting the entertainment. Hmm actually I take that back, you will only be able to change one event to prevent it from happening. Choose wisely…” A voice that the boys recognize as Colonel Mustang speaks up.
“Who are you…? And why can we only change one event?”
“Who am I? Oh that’s right some of you don’t know me yet… Well to put it simply, one name you might have for me is the World, or you might call me the Universe, or perhaps God, or perhaps the Truth. I am All, and I am One. So, of course, this also means that I am you.” Taking a moment for the rest to process this new information Truth then continues.
“It seems as though I missed one while bringing you all here… hmm well then” A loud noise similar to a door opening is heard then a body falling from the ceiling onto a bean bag chair. The majority of those in the room do not know who this man that was brought in is except the Elric brothers, Winry and Pinako.
“Ah there we have it everyone is here now. Wake up Van Hohenheim the rest will explain while I get everything prepared…” Hearing that voice Hohenheim awakens looking around the strange room he finds himself and many others stuck in.
Pinako Rockbell makes way towards her old drinking buddy to see if he’s alright and explain what Truth had told them all. The boys decide to stay back mostly due to Edwards not wanting to see his father.
Once Hohenheim is all caught up thanks to Pinako and a couple soldiers from eastern command, he turns around and sees his sons next to Pinako's granddaughter.
“Edward.Alphonse. You two have certainly grown up.” He says looking towards each of the boys. Izumi and Sig, still near the boys, look between the three of them.
“Ed, Al do you know this man?” Hearing that, Mustang's group looks towards the brothers and Hohenheim. Ed just stares angrily at his father while Al does respond to Izumi.
“Teacher… He’s our father…” Lieutenant Hawkeye herself joins in the conversation after that reveal.
“The father that left you both when you were little?” Alphonse nods in agreement.
“Yeah… So dad how have you been?” Al asks, trying to be civil with his father.
“Who cares how he's been Al he’s just a bastard.“ Ed says walking away shaking his head in anger away from his father. Alphonse gasps at his older brother, he doesn't get to tell him off for what he said as he gets cut off by his dad.
“It’s alright Alphonse… Honestly I’m surprised Edward didn't try to attack me. But he’s right I should've done more for you both and for that I’m sorry I don't expect to be forgiven.”
As the small family reunion plays out, walking up next to Mustang is Lt Colonel Hughes, eating from a small bag of popcorn he's holding. Turning towards his friend, Mustang just stares at him with a raised brow.
“Where in the hell did you get that from?” Referring to the popcorn.
“This? It's at the small table over there. It’s loaded with snacks like a cinema has.” Pointing off to a table on the side of the theater that truly is covered in snacks. As Mustang looks over towards the table he spots next to it a double door with a plaque about it. On the plaque it states with arrows ‘ Kitchen, Restrooms, Bedrooms’
“It seems this Truth person thought of everything that we’d need… hopefully this won't lead to anything outrageous especially since we can only change one thing.” Mustang thinks to himself.
“There's food!!” The young Xingese Prince gasps then immediately runs towards the table with his body guard changing after him.
“Young lord!!!”
Back with the brothers, Pinako gasps remembering her last conversation with Trisha Elric, the boy's late mother.
“Hohenheim! I just remembered Trisha wanted me to tell you the next time I saw you.” Ed controls his anger towards his father just enough to stop and listen to what Granny Pinako has to say. Hohenheim looks towards her curiously.
“She’s sorry she broke her promise and that she's dying first…” Before anyone can react to that, Truth's voice echoes once more.
“Well, are we all ready? I see some of you have discovered the snacks I so kindly provided for you. If everyone could please take a seat, get comfortable, you'll be here awhile…” Doing as such everyone takes a place either on a couch, bean bag or even laying on the floor with pillows facing towards the large cinema like screen.
“Now then let's get this started…”
