The bite of the spider

Summary:

It hurt. Peter's whole body felt like it was burning.

Where was he? Why was everything so dark?

Peter's hand reached out, his hand moving way slower than usual. It was like it was being forced down by something.

Peter was about to start wondering why before his hand hit something, something cold and hard. He tried to take a breath but just felt something that was definitely not air fill his nose.

Peter tried to speak, but nothing came out exept for bubbles. Panic slowly settled into Peter as he realized the weird cold surface was all around him. He was in a tube. A glass tube filled with weird green goo.

Chapter Text

A glass tube filled with weird green liquid.

Peter's eyes darted around, panicking as the green goo slowly sneaked its way into his nose and mouth, Peter tried to hit the glass, wanting to shatter it, but the strange water made everything so much harder.

Peter's slowly felt himself suffocating.

Tears filed his eyes that soon mixed into the water while his hands desperately clawed on the glass, he didn't want to die! Not like this!

Peter felt scared.

Alone

Angry.

Peter's vision blurred and he clenched his teeth hard together, he won't die like this. He won't accept it. He pulled his fist back before letting it crash against the glass over and over, each time faster and stronger. Peter's knuckles were bleeding when the glass finally cracked, with one last hit it shattered, and Peter fell out of the tube, landing hard on the floor with a loud thump.

He slowly pulled himself up onto his knees, his stomach clenched together as he still tasted the water on his tongue, making him cringe.

He fell back onto his hands as he felt something sneak its way up his throat, he threw up a big patch of weirdly green goo.

His whole body shook as it desperately tried to get rid of the rest. It burned in his throat, and he could barely breathe as tears returned to his eyes.

After getting everything out , Peter slowly sat up, panting while while wipping his mouth with the back of his hand. The air tastes like chemicals and iron, probably blood. He had cut himself while landing on the broken glass from the tube.

Peter slowly stood up on trembling legs crashing against a nearby table. He was shivering, and one look down showed him why his body was completely nude. His eyes glanced at the scars he didn't remember before his eyes pulled away.

He glanced around the room. It was an abandoned laboratory by the looks of it. There were some computers and tables with medical tools, and he also saw a few other tubs, but most of them were shattered or simply empty.

His eyes landed on the computer.

Peter approached one carefully and tapped around on the keys, but nothing happened. He sighed in disappointment and started walking to another one, but just like the previous one, it didn't do anything.

After checking the last one as well, because you never know, he grabbed the lab coat that was thrown over the chair standing in front of the table

He slipped into it and immediately let out a relieved sigh. It wasn't as warming as he had hoped, but it was a lot better than walking around butt naked.

------------------------------------------------------------------

After looking around for a while, Peter found nothing interesting in the room he had awaken in exept for some dead mice in a cage and a lot of dust.

He had, however, found out that something was messing up his vision, it was like the under part of it was cropped out but also not...? He didn't know what that was about.

He decided it getting out of this cold and imposing building was more important and decided it was going to be a future Peter problem.

Peter had made his way out of the room and down a long hallway, it was just as abandoned as the other room but far more creepier as a low hum of his spider sense settled into the back of his head.

The hallway led to a staircase, one going up and another going down. Peter decided for the one up, hoping it would lead him to a roof. And sure enough, he found himself before a heavy door marked "rooftop"

Peter pushed it open and stepped onto the roof. The cold air hit him hard, and he hissed a bit at the sudden light hitting his sensitive eyes.

they slowly adjusted to the light, and he was met with a city. Not new York, but something darker, twisted, and far more dangerous.

His spider sense attacked his head as the sound of life filled his ears. He groaned in pain as he stumbled back it. DANGER, DANGER DANGER! It was playing in a loop in Peter's head.

It came from everywhere at once, and his enhanced hearing only added to his pounding headache while he pressed his eyes shut, trying to calm himself.

Peter crouched low, his hands tightly over his ears trying to shut out the noises without much success. He whined and backed off more and more until his feet slipped on a loose rock, and suddenly, he wasn't standing anymore but falling.

Peter twisted in mid air his hand shooting out to try to hold onto the wall, but he missed it, crashing into a couple of bins before he could try again, knocking himself unconscious in the process.

------------------------------------------------------------------

Awareness slowly came back to Peter as his eyes blinked open. As he sat up, he felt a sharp pang in his side. He definitely broke some ribs while landing...just his luck.

He hissed in pain as he slowly stood up, holding himself up on the wall. After blinking a few more times, he could see that his vision was still a bit weird. The big patch of black in his vision was still, but Peter just brushed it off again. It will probably soon clear up. Right now, he had bigger problems. Like figuring out where the hell he was.

Peter looked where he had landed and saw it had been an old dirty alley... he didn't even want to know what he had landed in. But judging by the smell, he could already imagine it anyway...

Peter fixes his lab coats and buttoned it all the way up after a cold wind hit him before feeling some weird bumps on his back. He groaned uncomfortably but ignored it.

------------------------------------------------------------------

The more Peter walked down the streets of this strange city, he the more he realized that it must be filled to the top with murderers and psychopaths. His spider senses wouldn't shut up. Constantly telling Peter to run, which made approaching someone to ask for directions impossible.

His current goal was to find a library to try and figure out where he was. Maybe look if they had a lost and found for some real clothes.

It had taken annoyingly long and so much luck that Peter was sure he had used up every last bit for the next two years, but eventually, he found a library.

It was an old building in a Gothic style and fuckung gargoyles on top of it, snarling down at Peter like they could become alive at any point and eat him in one bite.

Peter shook the thought off and walked up the stairs and pushed the heavy door open, ignoring the stabbing pain in his side while doing so.

Inside Peter was greeted with a comfortable warmth and an old book smell. He glanced around, scanning the place. He couldn't see anyone else, but he heard another heatbeat in the back of the library.

He was about to walk up to the woman sitting behind the counter before his spider sense screamed at him that he would most definitely die if he did that. It was so intense and hesd splitting that Peter quickly walked past the red-haired woman trying not to run while ignoring her eyes, following him.

Peter soon found the computers they were older than the once he was used to, but it was also an old library. They were on the second floor far enough away from the front desk to shut his spider sense up.

He sat down by the first one and turned it on. It took a while to power up, and his eyes fell onto the sticky note attached to it. There was a password for the computer written on it.

And soon enough, after putting it into the computer and hitting enter, he got in.

Peter's eyes scanned the small icons on the screen as his eyes brow pinched together in confusion. He didn't recognize any of them, which was all together already weird, but when his eyes fell onto the corner of the screen, they widened to the size of plates.

July 15th, 2015

It was the wrong date... never mind the date it was the wrong year!! Had he gone back in time!?

Peter quickly clicked onto some of the icons until a search engine popped up. He quickly searched up what year it was, hoping it was just a glitch.

His hope soon was shattered into a thousand pieces when it just said the same.

He quickly stood up, knocking the chair down while his breath came in quick and shaky while his eyes darted around the room.

He felt his heart pounding against his chest as if it trying to escape, his eyes locked onto a bathroom and immediately bolted into its direction, slamming the door shut behind him.

unknowingly to Peter, the camera in the corner of the room slowly followed his movement before turning back to the desk peter had sat just seconds ago, zooming in.
