Chapter 1: Background

Chapter Text

F1 - Wolves
- Formula 1 is known for its high pace and daring, as drivers race around blistering circuits or down raging, closed-in streets. Within the community, the drivers give the energy of a close-knit pack that spreads beyond the individual teams through the junior series and outwards to series around the globe. Thusly so, drivers in the competitive world of Formula 1 all stem from the Lyncen family with a werewolf inside. They follow many of the normal mythological patterns found in stories of all kinds, including hierarchy, secondary designations, mates, and pack mentality. The drivers hold two packs: the major Formula 1 pack and the designated pack of the team they are with, with many team packs also merging with others to help support each other.

FE - Fae
- Formula E is known for the electrical sounds and daring to try new conservation styles. The drivers follow similar suits of desire to care for nature and a magical calling to aid nature; however, with tendencies to be pranksters among those they value as close. Each driver can have any skill set of magic and often leaves subtle hints to their calling within designs for their helmets and gear. They tend to be solo or pair types, but can become close with their teammates and teams. They hold middle-ground value for group dynamics; however, they have deep respect for those who have high value on group and pack hierarchy/dynamics. The drivers will often live closer to their IndyCar counterparts and live within communities around forests and fields.
Magic Skills
Growth, Deconstruction, Animals, Plants, Electrical

Indycar - Elves
- Indycar, being the spritly mix of Formula 1 and NASCAR energies, comes as elves. They host magic of varying natures and skills that are entwined with the natural world's properties. The group being as energetic as the junior drivers and the love for racing speeds as the endurance drivers, makes them a unique grouping of drivers.

IMSA/WEC - Vampires
- The endurance racers are vampires, fitting for their racing type. The long hours well into the dark of racing come as a casual afternoon activity for them. They have the hypersensitivity that comes with their immortality and the ever-increasing need for increased speeds. Unlike fables, vampires can handle being in sunlight and often appear like normal humans; however, they prefer a diet of animals instead of human blood.

Nascar - Dwarves
- NASCAR drivers might not hold the short stature of their stereotypical supernatural type. However, they are the gritty, earthy individuals who are hardy in nature. They can withstand large forces and often enjoy being the strong man of the motorsport world. They favor living in rocky mountain areas or lowlands filled with dirt plains.

Juniors - Changlings (nicknamed Gremlins by the other drivers)
- The Junior drivers of the motorsport world are better seen as changelings. They have magical abilities that are constantly changing and differ from driver to driver. Once a junior moves into a full-time seat within a series, they change into the designation of that series. For those who do not continue racing after their junior career, they develop into any supernatural being that they are in the longest close proximity to. The drivers are often pranksters and cause chaos within the paddocks, and are thus nicknamed as Gremlins.

Physios - healers/natural elements
- Physiotherapists are ingrained healers of the paddock with their skills of elements assisting in caring for the drivers and team members. Each one has a variation in elemental abilities that they have honed for medical care.

Team Members - any supernatural or human
- Team members within the paddock can hold any supernatural ability or be without one as a human. Everyone is valued within the team and brings a different skill set. Some team members have a stronger affinity for the task they do, such as mechanics having an affinity for being mental wielders or travel coordinators having portal abilities.

Those Who Have Left Us - Ghosts
- For any individual who has left the earth, they are found floating around amongst the ghost types. Pending their mood, the ghost can shift between being the calmest of ghost types to the aggressive of ghost types. At any point, the ghost can choose to cross over and rest.

Non-Motorsport People - any supernatural or human
- Similarly to team members, the general population can be any supernatural or human. The junior rule applies to anyone under the age of 20 and can often be prolonged if individuals are in environments that do not have one predominant being type.

Specialty Characters
Florence (Flo) - elf/healer mix
- An elf and healer with water element skills mix that works in the paddock as a physio for the McLaren Reserve, Driver Academy, and pit crew. Is asked to also be the physio for the McLaren Pack and the F1 Academy ladies, the McLaren Pack groups.

Kiko - Energy Fairy, hospitality
- A fairy with energy-based abilities that showcase as electrical control and aura of the individuals around them. They foster the excited and positive energy within the Mercedes Hospitality Pavilion and often extend their role into being the liaison for driver families.

Michi - vampire/Fae mix, strategist
- A vampire and fae mix that can channel weird hours to dig through data while remaining impartial in making strategy decisions for Haas. They enjoy helping host future strategists, students and interns around the paddock and garage.

Lena - Elf, PR/Interviewer
- An elf that is known for their unique style and for asking unique questions to the F2, F3, and F1A drivers in interviews. When not chatting with the juniors for interviews, they double as the Williams PR/Socials with snagging videos and photos to post online for the team.

Viva - animal witch, travel coordinator
- A witch that has a strong affinity for animals of all kinds and has a bobcat familiar named Chicane that follows closely behind them. They work as logistics and travel coordinator for Aston Martin. They often double as the paddock pet sitter with Chicane helping gather critters that hang around.

Chicane (Chica) - bobcat familiar for Viva
- A bobcat familiar that follows and assists Viva with pet sitting. They often double as the friend group, and on rare occasions, drivers up and down the grid, therapy peton race weekends and non-race weekends.
