Chapter 1: The Mysterious Island

Chapter Text

It was an uninhabited island they made land fall on one lovely day. The weather was perfect. The beach was warm, and a gentle wind whispered through the fronds of the palm trees. The island was lush with vegetation and rife with game. Usopp had a bad feeling that there was a good reason nobody had settled there.

Usopp didn't particularly want to go but the fascination with exotic plants and insects compelled him to risk a trip. He figured he could pick a strong partner to set out with.

Franky was already talking to Robin. Jinbe and Brook seemed to be paired up. Sanji was leaning uncomfortably close to Nami. Luffy was off to the side with his pinkie finger in his left nostril up to the second knuckle. Then there was Zoro standing quietly like a bushido statue come to life.

"I'm going with Zoro!" Usopp yelled louder than he meant to. The decision was made. The swordsman looked at him with a nod, and they set off into the dense foliage.

The trek was mostly quiet. The sounds of the island's wildlife filled the air, a symphony of chirps and buzzes. Usopp couldn't help but marvel at the beauty around them. He pointed out a particularly vibrant bloom, which Zoro acknowledged with a grunt. They pushed through the underbrush, the greenery growing denser and more mysterious with each step. Usopp saw many familiar looking plants. This wasn't on par with the Boin Archipelago, but it looked like a living death trap.

Usopp noticed a meat eating plant similar to one on Bion just smaller and slightly less deadly looking. He was about to point it out, "Zoro, I think I know why nobody lives on this island."

"Hmmm," Zoro verbalized noncommittally.

"Are you even listening to me?" Usopp turned around and the swordsman was gone. Usopp saw the disturbed undergrowth and followed it hoping that Zoro had not gotten too far.

Usopp huffed and complained, "What's the point of having a super strong, super cool bodyguard if he's constantly wandering off?"

Usopp almost tripped on a vine. There was rustling in the vegetation. Usopp froze on the spot. A massive lizard lunged out of some tall grass, its mouth agape. Usopp flinched back but then Zoro was there unsheathing Enma, he lopped its massive head off. The head kept squirming and mysteriously a tail began sprouting from the neck. Zoro cleaned his sword and resheathed it.

"Okay!" Usopp said and got behind Zoro, "Let's move on now." He gently pushed him away from the strange creature. Usopp wondered if it would grow a whole new body and if it could grow a new body could the body grow a new head? Something to think about once he was safely back on the Sunny.

They walked aimlessly for a while. This island wasn't massive but it was big enough to worry about getting lost. They walked deeper into the jungle, the sounds of the island growing more alien and unnerving. The air was thick with a sweet, cloying scent that seemed to make his heart race. Ahead there was a glade filled with bluish vines growing up into the canopy of the surrounding trees. They were covered with tiny delicate looking white flowers. A yellow haze seemed to be emanating from the flowers on the vines. The ground looked spongy and had a thick covering of grass and mosses. Usopp covered his nose and mouth quickly and stepped back from the cloud, Usopp assumed it was pollen. He realized Zoro was standing in the midst of the cloud of pollen.

"Zoro! Get out of there, and don't breathe the pollen!" Usopp shouted a warning.

"The what?" Zoro asked, standing in the pollen cloud, breathing the damn pollen! He turned back to his crewmate looking confused.

Usopp wanted to slap his own face but he was still covering his mouth and backing away, "The yellow cloud...Just get the hell out of there Zoro!" He growled.

Zoro stepped out of the vines and toward Usopp. He dusted his clothes off and shook his hair free of the yellow particles, "...Hell was that?"

"I'm pretty sure that was meant to be your final resting place," Usopp groused at the swordsman, "If you had stayed in there much longer."

Zoro's eyes narrowed, "I can handle a little dust."

"Pollen," Usopp corrected curtly.

"Pollen, dust, whatever," Zoro dismissed the sniper.

Usopp shook his head, but he was really glad Zoro seemed unaffected by that weird pollen. He suspected the pollen had a sedative effect and the real danger was hidden under the moss and grass in the form of a carnivorous plant of some kind.

They continued deeper into the jungle, the sun peeking through the dense canopy above. They circled around the glade. As they walked further. After about half an hour Usopp noticed Zoro struggling. His breathing was labored and he was sweating profusely.

“Zoro, are you okay?" Usopp asked with concern. Usopp took his canteen off his shoulder and handed it to Zoro.

Zoro took the water and chugged, His eyes not leaving Usopp's the whole time he drank. He pulled away from the lip of the canteen. He licked his lips staring intensely at his crewmate.

"Has anyone ever told you that you have really nice skin? You've got a few freckles across the bridge of your nose," That comment came out of left field, way, way, way out of it.

"Uh...thanks?" Usopp said uncomfortably, "Are you sure you're okay?"

"Uh yeah. Never better," Zoro smiled and asked, "Can I touch your cheek? Your skin looks so soft." Zoro started to lean in but Usopp shuffled back out of his reach.

"I don't think that's a good idea," Usopp replied nervously, his eyes darting around looking for an escape route, "What's gotten into you?"

"Nothing," Zoro smiled in what he thought was a charming way, "Nothing at all, I just really want to touch you, now."

The smile, as Usopp saw it, was manic and feral. His eyes widened in alarm and he stumbled backward, "Zoro, what's wrong with you?" Usopp demanded as the swordsman took another step forward, his gaze never leaving Usopp's face. Usopp started backing up further.

"Just come here so I can feel you," Zoro's expression darkened, "Now!"

The tone of Zoro's voice sent shivers of fear through Usopp. This wasn't the Zoro he knew. That was the voice of a predator.

"Um, tell you what, how about I go find some of the others, and we can all sit down and have a nice chat about this?" For every step Usopp took away from Zoro, he followed. The only problem was that Zoro's legs were longer so he was quickly over taking the sniper.

Zoro made a grab for Usopp, but he ducked out of the way. He turned and ran, reaching into his bag hoping to find what he wanted. He grabbed a handful of pop greens he chose one and smashed it into the ground behind him.

A wall of bamboo shot up catching Zoro. He hoped he didn't hurt Zoro but he had to get away. Then he heard the schwing of a sword being unleashed and the chopping sound of bamboo. He didn't dare look back.

"This isn't funny, Usopp," Zoro called out, his voice thick with something that definitely wasn't right. "I'm not playing games! GET BACK HERE, USOPP!!!"

Usopp didn't look back. He knew Zoro wasn't playing, not with that tone. His legs burned with the effort to keep moving, his chest tight with fear. He had to find the others before this got out of hand. The foliage grew denser, branches snagging at his clothes, vines wrapping around his ankles. But he didn't dare slow down. The sounds of Zoro's pursuit grew closer, the rustle of leaves and the thud of his heavy boots echoing through the jungle. Zoro was catching back up to him.

"Help! Zoro's gone crazy! I think he's going to kill me! Why are you doing this?" Usopp panted as he evaded the swordsman's grabs.

"Because, you are mine," His voice was deep and hungry.

The words sent a shock of terror through Usopp, making his legs pump even faster. "What the hell are you talking about?" Usopp threw another pop green over his shoulder. Man-eating plants tried to chomp Zoro but he sliced through them easily.

"Hey can anybody hear me? I need help!" Usopp shouted. He made the mistake of looking back. The toe of his boot got lodged under an upturned tree root. He tumbled down like a felled tree.

He screamed in pain feeling his ankle crack. Then he screamed in terror and pain when almost two hundred pounds of muscle, fury, and an engorged penis plowed into him at a full tilt run.

"You shouldn't have run from me. I don't want to hurt you. I want to protect you," Zoro spoke in a gravely strained voice.

There was too much going on, Usopp's ears were ringing. His nose was probably broken from his face plant, it was bleeding. His ankle was a wreck. Zoro was on his back. He nosed against Usopp's pulse point, and kissed him there. He was dry humping the Sniper. He was thankful for all the layers of clothing between them. Zoro impressive cock was fucking between his thighs.

But what finally broke him was the agonizing feeling of Zoro's teeth breaking skin at the juncture between his neck and shoulder. Usopp finally started screaming in earnest, "Stop! Help! Oh God! Zoro's out of his mind! Help! Help! Please! Anybody!"

"Mine! You're mine! I'm going to fuck you and fill you with my seed until your belly is round with it!" Zoro licked his neck and Usopp could smell his own blood on the crazed man's breath.

"No, please, Zoro, stop!" Usopp begged, his voice hoarse from the screaming. His desperate struggles were futile under Zoro's iron grip. The swordsman bit into the neck wound again digging deeper, sending waves of pain shooting through his body. Panic clouded his thoughts as he felt the warm, sticky trickle of his own blood running down his shoulder.

The jungle around them grew eerily quiet, the only sounds the harsh breaths of fear and desire. The air was still, as if the very island held its breath, waiting for the outcome of this bizarre encounter. Usopp's mind raced, trying to think of anything that could save him from this terrifying turn of events.

Then Zoro was gone. Off his back. Usopp looked up into Nami's horrified expression. She reached for him and though she was slighter than him; she had always been a strong girl.

"What the hell?! What's wrong with you?!" Usopp vaguely heard someone. Sanji, that sounded like Sanji, screaming at Zoro. Usopp supposed he had the chef to thank for getting the horny psycho off his back.

"Don't touch him you bitch!" Zoro howled in rage and tried to lunge past Sanji, "He belongs to me!"

Sanji easily stopped him. Nami and Usopp glanced back to see Zoro with frothy blood dripping from his mouth.

“Never speak to a lady like that in my presence!" Sanji furiously drove the heel of his shoe directly into the swordsman's face, driving him into the ground.

"I'll handle the marimo," He called over his shoulder, "Nami-swan, can you help Usopp back to the ship?" He eyed the sniper's beat up appearance and bloody shoulder and stomped Zoro one good one for his friend's sake. The chef knew something was really wrong with Zoro because he hadn't drawn any of his swords on him yet, scratch that. Zoro had one pointed at his family jewels. Sanji easily kicked the sword away.

Zoro pushed up against Sanji's foot, "You can't keep him from me!"

The love cook's eyes narrowed, "You're not yourself right now Zoro. You need to calm down."

Zoro snarled and pushed up against the patent leather shoe holding him in check, "I am calm. I just want my mate, bring him back to me! USOPP!!!"

"Your what?" Sanji asked incredulously, pressing his foot into the swordsman's chest.

"Yes my mate! Mine!" Zoro grinned diabolically, "He's mine and I'm going to fuck him until my cum gushes out of him. I'll put a baby inside him and keep him pregnant for the rest of our lives."

Sanji made a disgusted face and ground his foot against Zoro, “How can you say such vile things about our friend. This isn't you? You're fucked in the head, Marimo.”

Nami rushed Usopp as much as she could on his broken ankle. She didn't want to hear any more of the horrible things Zoro was spewing. Usopp sure as hell didn't need to hear that filth. Tears were already dripping off his bent nose and over his cheeks.

"You're okay," Nami tried to encourage him.

Usopp nodded, his voice shaking, "Yeah...just... let's hurry."

Sanji's expression grew grim as he watched Nami helping Usopp limp away, "You are not going anywhere," He warned Zoro, as he felt the swordsman struggling, "Not until you snap out of whatever this is."

"Get off me, you pansy!" Zoro snarled, his eyes not leaving Usopp's retreating form.

Sanji's face reddened, he stomped hard on Zoro's shoulder, "I said. Calm. Down. You're scaring him! Fuck! You're scaring me, Mosshead."

Screams and shouts echoed through the dense jungle foliage as Nami and Usopp stumbled their way back to the beach, the latter's ankle throbbing with pain. The sedate atmosphere of the island was shattered by the horror that had unfolded between them. Usopp's thoughts swirled with fear and confusion, his heart racing as they approached the shoreline. The sight of the Sunny in the distance offered a beacon of safety, and he gritted his teeth, urging himself to keep going.

The sounds of the Jungle seemed to grow tense as Zoro's obsession grew even more intense. The world was closing in on him, the very air was thick with a sense of foreboding. Zoro could no longer see his mate, but he could still fucking smell him.

Zoro had never felt this way before. This urge was overbearing. He had to have Usopp. He had to claim him, make him his, fill him with his seed until he could feel it inside him, growing. Sanji's words fell on deaf ears as he writhed under the chef's weight, desperate to break free and follow his scent. He hungered for the younger man. He had never felt such a fierce need to claim someone. It was driving him mad.

He needed Usopp, to taste him, to drink him in. He knew with certainty that Usopp was destined for him. The scent of the sniper's fear and blood had only served to drive him wild with desire. He had to have him.

Sanji kept his foot firmly on Zoro's shoulder, "You're not going anywhere, you hear me? You're going to sit here and calm down, or so help me, I'll knock you out!"

"It's not what you guys think," Usopp whispered to Nami as they stumbled away, "It's like he's been taken over by some kind of...lust pollen. He breathed it and st-started getting all touchy with me, and then...and then I ran. I think that made it worse. Like it triggered some kind of hunting instinct, or mating chase."

"Don't blame yourself, Usopp," Nami tugged him to go faster, they could hear the ocean and Zoro's enraged screams grew quieter. "Let's get on the ship and get Chopper to look at you."

"Nami?" Usopp sounded distressed.

"Hmmm?" Nami hummed in question.

They had made it to sand when Usopp spoke again, "I-I-I think the adrenaline has worn off..." Usopp's eyes rolled back and he fainted.
