It was a lovely night, surrounded by the nightshade gardens and a large grass field. Looking up at the stars peacefully. Everything was right in all the right ways, “if only Two Time was here.” I think to myself. I set my hat down on the grass, laying down, the wind blowing over me, cooling, but comforting. I close my eyes enjoying the scene, wanting it to always be like this. My breath, hot, making vapor in the cold air. I open my eyes again looking up at the night sky, then I reach for my spawn necklace, twiddling with it, then tightly grasping it with my palm, closing my eyes again… After a while, I hear someone walk toward me, I swiftly get up and turn around, sitting, to see who it is, letting go of my necklace and letting it dangle around my neck. “Two Time!” My face lights up at the sight of Two Time. “Azure” Two Time smiles, a warm smile, I smile back at them. Two Time sits down next to me on their knees “I expected you to be out here” “Well, yes. I love these plains” I respond, looking at Two Time who is looking up at the night sky. “It truly is peaceful out here” I state again, “Yes, it is” Two Time looks at me with a slightly concerned smile, then tucking a nightshade behind my ear, I softly grasp their wrist with my hands as they have their hand up to my ear tucking my hair behind it, alongside the nightshade “Is something troubling you?” I say with a soft smile. “No, not at the moment” “alright…” I lay back down, this time on my side and my head in their lap. I look up at them, Two Time brushes my hair as they look down at me. There’s a look of regret and guilt in their face. “Are you sure there’s nothing wrong?” Two Time forces a smile and brushes my hair again with the back of their hand “Yes, I’m fine…” I sit up on my knees, now in front of them, I cup their face with my left hand, my right planted on the grass. I look at Two Time with a fully concerned face now. “You’re my best friend, Two Time, you can tell me what it is…” Two Time softly puts their hand on my hand that’s cupping their face. “It’s fine, trust me.” They let go of my hand, and they grab my hat and put it back on me, fixing it. I lean closer to Two Time with nearly half lidded eyes, yet concerned, my hand still cupping their face. I pause for a moment, before standing up, and brushing myself off. “We should go to bed soon, the spawn would be upset if we stay awake for far too long without reason.” I reach out my hand for them, to help them up. Two Time sits for a moment, processing something, then they look up at me, then grabbing my hand to pull themself up. I would usually hold their hand as we walk back, but not today. We walk back to our sleeping chambers together, as we walk through the grass I sigh, looking somewhat sad, as Two Time looks regretful, as well as guilty. I let them go to their room, as I go to mine to sleep. As I reach my room I close my door, and lock it, then I put my necklace on a hook, where it’s safe. I change into a replica of the clothes I was previously wearing, to clean the clothes. I fold the clothes and set them on a desk in my room, making sure to clean them tomorrow. Regretting the silence I kept with Two Time at the end of the day, slipping in my bed, and going to sleep, tossing and turning as I do.

I wake up early the next morning to get started with the tasks I was assigned. I grab the clothes, planning to clean them before I do anything else. I leave my room, locking it behind me as I’m supposed to do, I head to the nearby river, where we clean clothes in the cult. I finish cleaning them, and I start heading back to my room to put the clothes away. I reach my room, I unlock the door and I hang the slightly wet clothes on a bar, where I usually dry my clothes. I head back out, locking the door again. I walk to the greenhouse gardens to take care of the plants, as I’m assigned to do every day. I water, and check plants and flowers as I hear the greenhouse doors open, I turn around to see Two Time. “Two Time..” I step towards them “listen, I do deeply apologise for keeping a silence between us… I do hope tha-“ they pull me by my shirt towards them, then pausing for a moment, staring into my eyes, before they pull me closer kissing me, my eyes widen briefly underneath the shade of my hat, before closing. I melt entirely into the kiss, my hands move to their waist, their hands still gripping my shirt as I lean on them slightly. I pull back from the kiss, stunned as we were only friends, but now, it felt like much more, I can barely focus on anything, let alone standing as Two Time tries to stable me, for I’m still leaning on them. “Azure…” they gently take my hands off their waist and press them against my chest palms down, their hands on mine. I stare into their face, my gaze shifting from their lips to their eyes. “Ah..” I struggle to know what to say “was that.. alright…?” Two Time looks as if they slightly regret what they just did “more than alright…” I pull my hands away from theirs, lightly grabbing the back of their neck to pull them in and kissing them again, this time prepared. Two Time’s hands drop to their sides as I pull my hands away, I pull away from the second kiss, my face still close to theirs, my hot, slightly heavy breath reaching their face. Looking straight into their eyes not regretting a thing… “I… I should get back to these plants…” I step away from Two Time “oh… yes…” Two Time swiftly turns around, and leaves closing the greenhouse doors behind him. I stand there, frozen, before turning and paying my attention back to the plants and flowers. The day goes on, finishing my tasks, I seem to finish my last assignment of the day and as I do I start heading back to my room… I hesitate and instead I head to Two Time’s room. as I approach the door I knock on it a couple times, expecting them to answer. For a couple seconds I get no answer, I start to walk away and as I do I hear the door unlock, I turn back to see Two Time opening the door just a crack. “Is there something in specific you came for?” I look down“oh… no, not at all I just wanted to wish you a good night, I know that the spawn will protect you during your slumber and all.. but… ah.. never mind… it’s kinda dumb…” “thank you…” Two Time lifts my chin for me to look up at him “and I don’t think it’s dumb…?” I smile at them briefly before it slightly fades as Two Time lets go of my chin “oh.. I did wanna ask…” They open the door wider, slightly leaning on it “does this mean we’re still friends… or are we something else now…” their smile along with their gaze softens “well, if you wish to stay friends, we can do that… but if you wish to be something else, we can do that as well” I step closer to them “I do wish to be more…” Two Time leans into me kissing me, before pulling back quickly after “that would be more than fine with me” they smile at me warmly “well then… I’ll see you tomorrow…” I hesitate for a moment “I.. I love you…” I leave quickly, heading to my room my face entirely flushed, as I reach my room I enter, locking the door behind me processing what just happened. I walk over to my desk, setting my hat down then looking over to the wall, seeing that I left my necklace, I walk over and I hold it tightly before getting ready for slumber, I slip into bed, my eyelids slowly getting heavier, and heavier, drifting off to sleep, thinking of nothing but them…

I wake for another day, excited to see Two Time once more. I slowly sit up, then standing, I look over to the hook on my wall, my necklace hanging from it, I walk over and I take the necklace over my head, putting it on. The image of Two Time shows up in my head, my face flushing at the thought of them “I should see them…” I say quietly to myself
