Chapter Text

The dry heat hit Lisa as soon as she stepped off the Plane in Ibiza, as the sun blazed down from the cloudless, blue sky above her.

...

After collecting her case from the airport terminal, she took in the scenery that passed her by, as she stared out of the window of her taxi.

...

After checking herself in at the Hotel reception and finding her way to what would be her home for the next month, she collapsed onto the freshly made bed, letting her exhausted body sink into the comfort of the soft mattress beneath her.

...

As she stirred, she slowly blinked her eyes open. She checked her watch, realising that she had fallen asleep and it was now a good few hours later.
The bright of the day had started to take on a slight, dusky haze as it began to blend into night.
She pulled herself up from where she lay, appreciating the room she was in for the first time, having pretty much ignored its clean simplicity on the way in.
She slid back the door to the balcony, feeling a warm breeze kiss her skin delicately, as she stepped out onto the cool, tiled floor.
She took in the beautiful view of San Antonio bay, as she gazed out across crystal, blue waters as they lapped gently at the golden shoreline.

...

As she sat Infront of the mirror that evening, adding the finishing touches to her makeup, she still couldn't quite believe she was here. She hadn't been abroad by herself before. She had always found the idea far too daunting. But after going through a breakup with her girlfriend, she decided that she needed to get away for a bit, that she needed to do this for herself to prove to herself...to her ex, that she wasn't all the things she had said she was.
Lisa wanted to prove to her that she didn't need her, that she was fine without her and that she could make her own way in life, without Becky holding her hand.
That's why she decided on Ibiza. It was so far out of her comfort zone, that she knew it was the perfect way to prove, not just to her ex, but to herself, that she wasn't a straight laced, shrinking violet like she had been branded most of her life.

...

The air was warm, the breeze gentle and cool, as Lisa walked along the shoreline of the beach, her feet sinking into soft sand.
She walked a little way up the sand towards the promenade, before she sat, placing her sandal's beside her.
She glanced back behind her, the strip of bars along the prom beginning to fill with the laughter and chatter of people. She knew Ibiza was famous for it's nightlife and, she was terrified but also exhilarated at the thought of experiencing it by herself. Of pushing herself beyond the limits of her own comfort zones. She watched as the different groups of young and older, mingled inside and out, drinks in hand.
She watched as bar staff walked around with trays of shots and girls and guys walked the length of the strip, handing out flyers for what she could only assume was too try and entice people into wherever it was that they were working for.

...

Lisa sat on the concrete at the end of the strip, as she brushed the sand from her feet, before putting her sandals back on.
She stood, folding her arms across her chest as she began walking slowly back along the prom.
She smiled politely as people glanced her way and waved her hand in a "thanks but no thanks" manner, when staff from the different bars started to approach her to offer her a shot of something.

"Can I tempt a gorgeous woman, such as yourself, with a free drink here before 10pm?"

Lisa turned to see a somewhat handsome guy stood a few feet away from her, a bright white smile on his face as he held out a flyer for the bar he was obviously working for.

"Thankyou but, maybe another night..."

That had been her answer to the last five men and women who had tried to offer her either free admission flyers, 2 for 1 flyers and even flyers for 25% off excursions.

She inwardly berated herself for being the complete opposite of what she had wanted to be when she got here. She had wanted to be a completely different version of Lisa too the one who had left Manchester less than 24hrs ago...yet, here she was, the exact same...boring, sensible...and beginning to wonder why on earth she thought that coming anywhere like this was a good idea!

She sighed, her arms hugging her chest tighter as she turned to glance out across the bay. The reflection of the moon and the colourful lights from the bars, shimmered and twinkled on the surface of the water.

As she turned her head back, she felt her body collide with another, causing her to stumble backwards. She could feel herself about to take a tumble, unable to unfold her arms quick enough to steady herself, but as she felt herself about to fall, a hand reached out to grab one of her now free arms, stopping her from what she had believed was the inevitable.

"Oh gosh, I'm so sorry! Are you ok?"

Lisa took a moment to regain her composure, before her eyes looked up to meet a pair of sparkling, green eyes staring back at her.

"I um...sorry...that was my fault, I wasnt watching where I was going"

"No harm done, 'ey" the brunette woman smiled warmly at Lisa, as she removed her hand from Lisa's arm.

Lisa noticed her beauty instantly. Dark, raven hair hung in loose waves past her shoulders, her dark, smokey eyeshadow made her bright green eyes smoulder from beneath and her bright, red smile was photo perfect.
Her porcelain skin was smooth against the sharp contours of her cheekbones and jawline.

"You ok there?"

Lisa heard the brunette chuckle as she snapped herself from her thoughts.

"Hmmm...?"

"Ya disappeared inside ya 'ead there for a moment!" the brunette laughed again.

"Sorry..." Lisa smiled sheepishly, as she went to carry on walking past the brunette.

"Hey!"

Lisa heard her call out to her and she turned to see her stood behind her, holding a flyer in her hand.

"The least you could do, ya know, after bumping into me is take a few of these..." she grinned, as Lisa awkwardly reached out and accepted the flyer "That'll get you and ya friends 20% off entry to Es Paradis tomorrow night!..."

Lisa looked down at the flyer, then back up at the other woman "...Thanks..."...

The brunette flashed her another smile, but before Lisa could say anymore, she had turned and was approaching another group, dishing out flyers to them.

Lisa watched after her for a second or too longer. She watched as she carried herself with a confidence Lisa could only dream of. Her tall, slender figure moved with grace and purpose, looking effortlessly put together in a simple, black vest top and ripped, denim shorts that were probably the shortest shorts Lisa had ever seen.
She wondered if the brunette worked at this club or whether she was just payed to hand out flyers to entice people in.

It was then that Lisa realised she was staring. She folded the flyer in half as she turned and carried on making her way back along the strip in the direction of her Hotel...a slow, smile seemingly going unnoticed by her as she put one foot Infront of the other.

Maybe, her decision to come here, wouldn't turn out to be so bad after all...

Chapter Text

Lisa yawned as she stretched out beneath the thin duvet on her bed, the morning sun bathing the room in a bright light as it beamed in through the balcony doors.

...

After showering and getting ready, she took herself down for breakfast. She felt quite out of her comfort zone sitting alone in a room full of couples, families and friends. Going into places like this, on her own, was something she never did, but if she was going to make this a holiday that would push her out of all her comfort zones, then going down to meals on her own was as good a place to start as any.

...

After buying her reduced price ticket for Es Paradis tonight, Lisa left the Hotel and wandered along the streets, taking in the sights of the quaint little shops, the different bars and restaurants and the different atmosphere that she now found herself surrounded by during the day.
She ducked and dived into the little shops, browsing expensive, tacky and everything else in between.

...

She took off her flipflops as she stepped onto the sand, feeling the warmth beneath her feet. She found a space amongst the mix of others already there and set her towel down.
She looked around, taking in the daytime view of the bay. It felt like a completely different place to what it did last night. The loud, hustle and bustle of the nightlife had been replaced by the quieter, more family orientated day life.

...

Lisa spent the day either reading, sunbathing or taking a dip in the water too cool off. She also spent time taking in the view around her...families laughing, friends sunbathing and day drinking, couples walking hand in hand along the beach. She also spied the odd person seemingly here on their own, like her, which made her feel a little less like a sad, lonely singleton.

...

After dinner back at the Hotel, Lisa showered, before pouring herself a glass of wine and heading out onto the balcony. The air was warm, as she took a seat on the lounger, relaxing back and enjoying the view as the early evening dusk, made way for the dark of night.

...

Lisa took a final look in the mirror. She couldn't believe it was almost midnight and, instead of being in comfy pyjamas, tucked up in bed asleep...she was dressed up, hair and makeup done, about to head out.

...

As Lisa wait in the queue, she started to feel self conscious, wrapping her arms around her body as if it would provide some kind of comfort. She was the only one waiting to get in without a big group of friends, or a partner and she suddenly felt very out of her depth. What the hell was she thinking!? She couldn't do this...

"Ticket..."

Lisa blinked, as a tall, heavy built man held his hand out to her.

No going back now. She took a deep breath and handed him her ticket.
He looked at her, before signalling for her to hold out her wrist, before he wrapped a wristband around it and then nodded for her to head in.

...

Lisa stood, slightly dumbfounded for a minute or two, as she took in the sight around her. She had been in clubs before...but nothing like this. It was the most stunning nightclub she had ever seen. The entire inside was bright white and the different colours from the purples and blues of the strobe lights almost bounced off the reflection.
Pillars that looked almost Roman in design, took centre stage in a large circle around the main dancefloor. Two large staircases ran along either side of the club to the indoor balcony area. Greenery in the form of artificial leaves, wound their way around the bannister of the stairs, dotted with artificial, coloured flowers and large glitter balls and fairy lights hung from the ceiling.

...

Lisa sat up the bar, nursing a vodka and coke, as she looked out into the mass of people, moving, swaying, gyrating and jumping with the different bass lines that played out. Lisa felt the deep bass thudding through her own heart, as she took another sip of her drink. She glanced up, noticing that there were cages that hung in different parts of the club, dancers now occupying them and moving to the music in ways that no, untrained club goer could.

...

"You look like you could use a shot!"

Lisa turned towards the voice that was having to almost shout in her ear to be heard above the music.

The brunette smiled "So, you came then!"

Lisa nodded, a little lost for words and caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the other woman who now stood beside her. There were many faces she would forget...but the brunette's was deffinately not one of them.

The brunette seemed to study her for a moment, as if she was trying to search for answers to questions that she kept to herself.

Lisa began to feel nervous, taking another quick sip of her drink before setting it down on the bar.

"Actually...I was just about to leave..."

The brunette narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms across her chest defiantly.

"But you've only just got here?"

Lisa scoffed "Been keeping an eye on me have you!?"

The brunette just laughed "No...it's just the club has only been open for half an hour, you can't possibly be calling it a night already blondie!?"

Lisa felt a slight pang of irritation creeping in, as she too, folded her arms in a slightly standoffish manner "It's Lisa actually...and what's it to you!?"

The brunette raised an eyebrow "Feisty aren't ya!" she smirked "Well, Lisa actually...I kinda lied when I said I hadn't been watching you..."

Lisa suddenly felt a different kind of nervousness coursing through her body, as the brunette took a step closer, leaning an elbow on the bar as she held her gaze...

"...I've had my eye on you ever since you stepped in here tonight and, I haven't seen you talk to, or dance with, another soul..."

Lisa's eyes widened "Wow...you should be a detective!" she shot back sarcastically as she rolled her eyes.

The brunette frowned "I wasn't meaning anything by it, Lisa. I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend you I just, I speak before I think sometimes, I've gotta big gob!"

"You don't say!" Lisa replied, softening a little as she couldn't hide the faint hint of a grin that began to spread across her face.

The brunette stood quietly, giving her the option to take the next step.

"I didn't come here with anyone. I came by myself..." Lisa finally spoke, feeling a little embarrassed to admit it.

The brunette nodded "The rest of your friends or family not the clubbing type 'ey?"

Lisa shook her head "I'm alone. I came on holiday by myself..." she shrugged, now feeling utterly pathetic.

"Brave!..." The brunette nodded again "Give me a sec!..."

She smiled, before turning, picking up the tray of shots she had placed on the bar and disappeared into the crowds of people. Lisa watched her go, quickly feeling the lack of interaction.

...

Lisa set her now empty glass back down on the bar and jumped down off the barstool, about to head back to her hotel having not seen anything of the brunette who told her she would be back almost quarter of an hour ago.
She turned, taking a step forwards, but feeling a hand grab her lower arm.

"Hey, where d'you think your going blondie!?"

Lisa turned to find the brunette now stood behind her, a bright, red smile across her face, as her eyes found Lisa's...

Chapter Text

Lisa faltered, the brunette's beauty temporarily paralysing her to the spot.
The brunette smiled, reaching out and grabbing Lisa by the hand, turning and pulling her through the mass of people.

...

Lisa sat at a table up in the balcony area, overlooking the dancefloor below. She watched as a plume of sweet smelling smoke clouded the dancefloor like a dry mist, engulfing everyone in sight.

...

"Here...try this!"

Lisa turned her head to see the brunette take a seat opposite her, sliding her what looked to be a cocktail across the table.

"Thanks...what is it?"

She watched the brunette shrug, a grin spreading across her face "No idea! I got Sam to knock something new up for us!"

The brunette took a sip from her glass and Lisa watched her eyes widen.

"Whooo, that's strong!..."

"Aren't you um...aren't you, you know...working?" Lisa questioned, watching the brunette take another sip from the glass.

"Extended break!" catching Lisa's eye and smiling back at her.

Lisa swallowed hard, feeling both a little nervous and a little excited, about how being around this woman was making her feel.

Lisa tried to relax a little...tried to cover her nervousness with a slightly awkward smile.

"You know...you still haven't told me your name!?"

The brunette kept her eyes on the blonde, as she bit down on her bottom lip "...Well...how rude of me..."

Lisa felt her heart begin to beat a little faster in her chest, unable to pull her gaze away from the brunette.

She then let out a soft laugh "Am I making you nervous Lisa...?"

Lisa swallowed hard again, trying to ignore how the brunette looking at her in that way was making her feel. But before she could choke out a reply, the brunette laughed again.

"I'm just kidding, your face!" she grinned "Carla..."

Lisa's brows furrowed slightly "Carla?"

"My name!" Carla chuckled, before taking another sip of her drink.

Lisa nodded, feeling embarrassed at her sudden, complete lack of social skills. Instead, she picked up her drink, taking a sip and feeling the strength of the alcohol burn her throat as it went down. Whatever was in this, was a lot stronger than she was used too.

...

After a few more sips of her drink, Lisa began to feel a little more confident around the brunette, finding that she was stumbling over her words less and able to seemingly now find the courage to start holding an actual conversation.

She looked up at Carla, who was sat staring back at her.

"So uh...why are you sat here, I mean, with me...aren't you supposed to be working?"

Carla smiled and Lisa couldn't stop herself from smiling back.

"Figured I was due a break" Carla took a moment to glance around the club, before focusing back on Lisa "...and, ya know...thought you could use a bit of company, seeing as your on ya own n that"

"You give this kinda special attention to all the single, club goers do ya?" Lisa chuckled.

"Just the ones I like..." Carla replied, smiling back at Lisa in a way that made the blonde question whether she was joking or being serious.

Carla leaned in a little, elbows resting on the table, hands cupped beneath her chin "So...go on then...what brings you out here all on ya own? Messy break-up with ya fella was it?"

Lisa almost spat out the sip of drink she had just taken. Carla was obviously straight and completely unaware that she was anything but...simply assuming that she was here, on her own, because of a guy. Lisa had to stop herself from laughing, although she couldn't hide the grin that crept onto her face.

"Something like that, yeah..." She looked at Carla, the brunette sat patiently waiting for her to elaborate "...but, it wasn't a guy I broke up with...it was a woman, Becky..."

Carla's eyes widened and she put her head in her hands, laughing before looking back up, cheeks slightly flushed with embarrassment.

"Oh my god, I'm so sorry...I shouldn't have assumed you were, ya know..."

"Into men!?" Lisa laughed.

Carla nodded "I told ya, I've got a big gob and it runs away before I can engage me brain sometimes. I'm sorry..."

Lisa shook her head, smiling "It's fine, honestly...don't worry about it"

"I'm sorry, you know...for whatever happened between you and your partner..."

"Thanks..." Lisa sighed, a hint of sadness in her voice.

Carla sensed the blondes subtle shift in mood and reached across the table, placing her hand on top of the other woman's, giving it a gentle squeeze.

"For what it's worth...I think she's a fool to have let you go" the brunette smiled as Lisa looked up at her.

"That's kind of you too say... considering you barely even know me"

Carla narrowed her eyes "I like to think I'm a pretty good judge of character" she smiled warmly.

Lisa was about to reply, when a tall, dark haired guy came up behind Carla and put his arm around her. Lisa watched him whisper something in her ear, before he smiled politely at Lisa and walked away.

"Everything ok?" Lisa questioned, watching the man walk away.

"Sadly break time is over" Carla smiled, jumping down from her seat at the table "Listen...it's my night off tomorrow...if I haven't put you off spending anymore time in my company..."

"No, deffinately not!..." Lisa felt herself go crimson, the words tumbling out before she had a chance to stop them.

Carla smirked "...if you don't already have plans, maybe we could grab a bite to eat for dinner and perhaps check out a couple of bars or something?"

Lisa felt a rush of excitement, mixed with nerves at the thought of spending more time in Carla's company, but she tried her best to "act normal".

"That's really kind of you to offer...but honestly, I don't want you to feel like you have too..."

"I want too, Lisa..." Carla's smile was warm and genuine.

Lisa hesitated just for a second or too longer, not wanting to appear over eager, before she finally accepted the brunette's offer.

"Ok...thankyou...Id like that"

"It wouldn't be until later in the afternoon though, I don't finish here until gone 6 in the morning and a girl needs her beauty sleep!" Carla laughed "but I can meet you, say...6.30, down on the promenade?"

Lisa nodded "I'll be there..."

Carla flashed her another smile, before she turned and left Lisa gazing after her, watching as she disappeared into the sea of people.

...

Lisa collapsed into bed a little past 2am. She had actually stayed out longer than she had anticipated, all thanks to a certain brunette.
Lisa had enjoyed being in her company...more than a little too much, if truth be told...

Chapter Text

Thankyou for the comments and kudos so far on this fic! I appreciate it 😘

By the time Lisa stirred, it was already 10.30 and she had missed breakfast.

...

She decided that she would spend the day, sat around the Hotel pool. She didn't want to go to far or do too much, still feeling tired from not getting back until the early hours.

...

Lisa lay her towel down on one of the sun loungers around the pool, sighing as she settled back into it comfortably. She picked up the book she had brought down with her, but although she tried to focus on the writing on the pages...her mind and concentration was elsewhere.

All she could seem to think about was the brunette. Whenever she closed her eyes, all she could see was her...her smile, her eyes, her raven hair. She was captivatingly beautiful and Lisa was unable to deny to herself, the attraction she felt towards her...even if she wasn't interested in Lisa that way.

She hadn't thought about another woman in this way since her ex and it had taken her a little by suprise. Especially as she knew barely anything about the brunette...and vice versa.

...

Lisa blinked her eyes open, having fallen asleep unintentionally as she lay by the pool, the laughter and chatter from other guests bringing her fully back to her surroundings.

...

As she lowered her body into the pool, the cool water soothed her warm skin. She leaned up against the side of the pool, arms stretched out and resting on the side, as she slowly kicked out her legs Infront of her.

...

Lisa stared back at her reflection, as she put the finishing touches to the subtle but noticeable makeup she had applied. Her hair hung straight and sleek, front pieces swept softly back and held by a single clip at the back.

What she was going to wear, had plagued her mind for the last few hours, but she had finally settled on an emerald green jumpsuit, teamed with a pair of simple, black, strappy, kitten heeled sandals.

She took a final look at herself in the full length mirror. She didn't know why she was allowing herself to get so het up about how she looked, this wasn't a date! In fact, she didn't really know what it was, but she realised that she was actually grateful to have a bit of company.

...

Lisa checked the time on her phone...Carla was almost 15 minutes late. As the minutes had ticked by, Lisa's nerves had slowly become overtaken by a heavy feeling of sadness at the idea that the brunette was obviously not coming. Maybe she had forgotten?...or she had had a better offer?...or been called in to work?...
Lisa couldn't even send her a message as she didn't have her number.

...

Lisa felt deflated, as she pushed herself up from where she had been sitting on a low wall Infront of one of the bars along the promenade and began to make her way back in the direction of her Hotel.

...

"LISA!!"

She turned, hearing her name being called behind her. She saw Carla practically running up to her.

Carla reached out and placed her hands on Lisa's upper arms, bending forwards slightly.

"I'm so sorry...I'm so sorry" her words coming out breathy and ragged as she began catching her breath "I totally lost track of time and then I had to drop something to a friend on the way and..." She looked up at the blonde, who was staring back at her, narrowing her eyes "...what?..."

Lisa shook her head, realising that she was staring. She couldn't make it more obvious that she found the brunette attractive if she tried!

"Uh, sorry...it's nothing, I...you just...you look...lovely..."

Lisa stuttered over her words, as she watched a slow smile spread across Carla's face.

"Well um...thanks" the brunette replied, her voice just a little above a whisper "...you look lovely too, Lisa" she slowly removed her hands from the blondes arms, as she raked her eyes up and down Lisa's body.

Lisa felt her throat go dry for about the millionth time since meeting Carla a little over 48 hours ago.

"Come on, I'm starving!" Carla said, linking her arm in Lisa's as she proceeded to guide them back along the promenade.

...

"It's lovely in here!" Lisa's eyes darted around the quaint little Italian that was situated a street away from the beach strip.

"You like it then?"

"Mmmm" Lisa nodded, smiling as she looked back across the table at Carla.

"Bread stick?..." Carla smiled, picking one out from the pot on the table and handing it to Lisa.

Lisa tentatively took it from the brunette "Thanks..." she replied, nibbling at the end of it.

...

"Thankyou..." Carla smiled politely at the waiter that cleared their plates from the table.
She slid the stem of her wine glass between her index and middle finger, resting them on the base as she swirled the liquid around in a circular motion.

Lisa felt her confidence gaining, with a little help from a few glasses of wine. She looked over at Carla as she rest her chin on the back of her hand.

"You haven't told me what brought you out here?"

Carla looked up at the blonde, straightening up a little in her chair as she took a sip of her wine.

"I guess you could say I was running away...from life, from more failed relationships than I can count." Carla took another sip of her wine "It was only meant to be a few months, until I got me head together y'know...but, I guess a few months turned into a year and I'm still here!" She let out a laugh.

"Do you ever think about going back?...home I mean?"

"Sometimes" the brunette replied, letting out a half hearted sigh "but I don't know what would be there for me anymore Lisa. I don't really have any family left to speak of...just my brother and the less said about him the better!" she grinned "...besides, I've grown to like it here, you know. Im renting my own apartment, I've got a job I enjoy and I've got friends. I'm doing ok here..."

Lisa smiled, her head nodding slowly in response. She could feel Carla's eyes on her and, for a moment, she let her own gaze get lost in the brunette's.

"And what about you..." Carla asked, not breaking the eye contact between them "what happens when you leave here and return home?"

Lisa cleared her throat, pulling her gaze from Carla's and looking down into her glass.

"...I haven't thought that far ahead yet..." she mused, almost as if she were talking to herself "I guess, just put my all into focusing on my career. I want to work up the ranks and become a DS, you know...if I make the grade!"

"So your a copper!?" Carla asked, a hint of surprise in her voice.

Lisa looked back at her "I heard that tone of suprise in your voice!" she smirked, sitting back in her chair and folding her arms in mock defence "Why is that so hard to believe?"

Carla laughed, her eyes sparkling "Sorry, it's just...you...and copper...I never thought those two things would go together! You just seem so...I don't know...timid..."

"Timid!" Lisa let out a laugh "Are you trying to say that you think I'm weak!?"

"No!, no!" Carla started, trying to read Lisa's expression to gage if she had just offended the woman "I just meant that, you just seem to nice to be a police officer!"

"We're not all arseholes, ya know... contrary to popular opinion!" Lisa smirked and she could see the brunette's shoulders relax a little.

Carla scoffed "Well, I guess me and my family have just met all the arseholes then!" she smirked, as she watched Lisa raise an eyebrow "Don't even go there!"

"I never said a word!" Lisa grinned, downing the last of her wine, her eyes locking into Carla's over the rim of her glass. She thought she saw a subtle shift in the way the brunette looked back at her...and it gave her the tiniest sensation of butterflies in her stomach.

Carla leaned in, her eyes never leaving Lisa's, her voice low, steady "Let's get out of here..."

Lisa felt her heart rate quicken "Where um...where are we going...?"

"To dance..."

...

Lisa felt electricity buzzing through every part of her body as soon as the brunette slipped her hand in hers, entwining their fingers together as she lead them through the crowds of people, to a small dancefloor at the back of one of the cocktail bars she had lead Lisa too.

The bigger clubs weren't open yet, so most people came out to the smaller bars for "pre game" drinks and a dance.

...

Carla weaved effortlessly through the sea of people, finding them a spot just off from the middle of the dancefloor.

Carla turned back to face Lisa, their eyes locking once again, as she began moving her body in time with the beat of the music.

...

Lisa watched as her hips swayed seductively, arms reaching up into the air as she surrendered herself entirely to the music.
The red, strappy dress she wore, moved with her slender curves in all the right places.
Her hair, styled in effortless beach waves, glistened in the light as it moved with her body.

Lisa wanted to close the gap between them, push her back until she hit the wall and devour every inch of her.

She suddenly felt like she couldn't breath, signalling to Carla that she was just going to grab a bottle of water and that she would be back in a minute or two.

...

Lisa felt the refreshing cool of the water hit the back of her throat. She stood for a moment, propping her back up against the bar, closing her eyes to try and steady herself.

...

Lisa weaved her way back through the sea of bodies, to where she had left Carla.
She stopped, her eyes falling on Carla as she danced, her back pressed flush up against the front of who appeared to be some random guy.

One arm was snaked around the back of his neck, her head resting back on his shoulder, while the other was resting on top of one of his hands that were placed low down on her hips.

Lisa watched, as the brunette moved her body with his. She watched as he tilted his head down towards her's, giving off every sign that he was looking for more than just a dance.
She saw Carla move her head to look back up at him. They held each others gaze for a moment and Lisa could feel her heart sink.
She had no right to feel hurt, or angry with Carla, she hadn't done anything wrong...and neither had the guy who had his grubby hands all over her. But it still felt like a kick in the stomach all the same.

Lisa was about to turn away and leave, not willing to stand there and witness what was about to happen. But before she could turn, before the guy's lips closed the last few centimetres between his own and Carla's, the brunette turned her head, her eyes locking straight on to Lisa's.

Lisa stood, paralyzed, not knowing whether she should stay or she should go...but it would be Carla who would make that decision for her.

The brunette smiled at the blonde, almost seductively, as she beckoned for Lisa to walk towards her.

As if in a trance, Lisa slowly put one foot Infront of the other, coming to a standstill Infront of the brunette.

The guy looked up, sensing someone else had caught his dance partners attention, almost glaring at Lisa as Carla prised herself from his arms, her eyes not leaving Lisa's, as she closed the distance between them, draping her arms around the blondes neck as she pushed her body up against Lisa's.

Lisa felt like she couldn't breath. She almost felt delerious, as her hands instinctively reached out placed themselves on the brunette's lower back.

She could sense the man who had been dancing with Carla glaring at her, but she didn't care...she didn't care about anything but the moment she was sharing with the brunette.

The people, the music, the lights...it all seemed to fade into a hazy background, as their bodies practically moved as one.
Lisa felt like she was on a dizzying high, like this was all a dream.

Carla leaned in, resting her forehead gently against Lisa's, their eyes continuing to hold one another's gaze.

Lisa felt her heart race, as Carla slowly turned her in her arms.
Lisa couldn't control a small whine that left her throat, as she felt Carla's hands settle on her hips, snaking her fingers just a little further round the front, as she guided Lisa's body back against her own.
Lisa instinctively tilted her head back on to Carla's shoulder, her hands finding the brunette's as their fingers entwined together.

...

Lisa could have stayed in Carla's arms like that forever. As they had danced, they were completely surrending their bodies to one another...and Lisa felt like she wanted to drown in the feeling that was flooding through her body.

...

They didn't speak as they walked back in the direction of Lisa's Hotel. But the silence wasn't uncomfortable...it was content. Carla's arm was once again linked through Lisa's, as they strolled beneath the night sky, the warm breeze Featherlight on their skin.

...

They came to a stop outside the doors to Lisa's hotel, as she turned to face Carla.

"You didn't have to walk me all the way back you know..." Lisa smiled warmly.

Carla reached up and brushed one side of Lisa's hair back behind her ear.

"I know..." she smiled.

"Thankyou...I um, I had a really great time..."

"Me too..." Carla gazed into Lisa's eyes "Night Lisa..."

Lisa felt her breath catch in her throat, as Carla leaned in and ghosted her lips softly across her own, before she pulled back, smiled...and turned, walking away and leaving Lisa standing there, watching her go...

Chapter Text

Lisa had spent a lot of the night, laying awake, staring up at the ceiling, replaying the evening over and over in her head. All she could think about...was her. How she had looked, how she had danced...how her body had felt pressed against her own...and how her lips had felt when they barely touched her own with a goodnight kiss.

...

She sat out on the balcony of her room, clasping a coffee in her palms. She had managed to just about make breakfast this morning, but decided to bring her coffee back to the room.

...

As she stared out across the view of the bay, she tried to tell herself to get a grip on what she was feeling for the brunette. She hadn't even been here a week and she was letting her heart rule her head. Her heart was trying to pull her towards what she wanted, what she desired, but her head was telling her to take a step back from her feelings. After all, she may have been reading any signals Carla had been giving out to her completely wrong. She may just be that way with everyone...flirty, carefree...

...

Lisa didn't even know when she would see her again. Carla knew where she was staying now, but they still hadn't swapped any other details.

...

As Lisa made her way through the lobby of the Hotel, she stopped at the Main Desk to ask if someone could pop by her room and replace the bulb that had blown in the light in the bathroom.

"Not a problem Ms Swain, we will get maintenance to change it while you are out"

"Thankyou" Lisa smiled, turning to walk away.

"Oh, Ms Swain...there's a note for you!" Lisa turned, her brows furrowing as the receptionist handed her a folded piece of paper "there was a call to reception this morning. I was going to drop by your room later to give it to you but..." she smiled "Have a good day Ms Swain"

Lisa smiled again, before she turned and made her way out of the Hotel.

...

She sat down on the soft sand in a quieter section of the beach, facing out towards the sea. She sat for a moment, taking in the beauty of the blue sky and the shimmer of the sun's rays as they beamed down onto the surface of the crystal blue water.

...

Lisa opened the folded piece of paper...the message was short, simple...but she felt her heart flutter...

"I had a great time last night blondie...maybe we can do it again before you leave"
followed by a mobile number.

...

Lisa couldn't hide the smile that spread effortlessly across her face. Carla had enjoyed her company as much as she had enjoyed the brunette's.

Lisa wanted to message her right away, but she held off, not wanting to appear in any way desperate or needy. She did however, add Carla's number to her phone contacts in case she lost the piece of paper.

...

Lisa spent the rest of the day relaxing in the warmth of the sun, grabbing a salad and drink for lunch from one of the bars along the promenade. She even managed to get through a couple of chapters of her book.

...

As it got later into the afternoon, Lisa decided she would head back to the Hotel, freshen up, go down for dinner and then head back out to take a walk around, maybe head back down to the beach and sit in one of the bars with a drink, taking in the view at nighttime.

She held her sandals in her hand, as she made her way back up the beach towards the promenade.

...

She glanced along the line of bars and restaurants that dotted the strip and her eyes caught sight of the brunette, standing a few bars down, chatting and laughing with a group who Lisa assumed to either be people she worked with or friends of hers.

Lisa thought about heading over to say hello, but she didn't want to feel like she was intruding.

Just before she made to move on, Carla happened to glance her way, their eyes finding one another's instantly.

She smiled, waving at Lisa, who smiled back. The people she was with turned heads to glance in Lisa's direction, before turning away again.

After a moment, Carla made her way over towards Lisa.

"We must stop meeting like this or people will start to talk!" Carla laughed as she came up to the blonde "Hi..." she smiled, thinking nothing of leaning in and giving Lisa a hug, before pulling back and folding her arms across her chest as she stared back at the blonde "I was beginning to think you didn't want to see me again!" she grinned, raising a brow in the blondes direction.

"What? Whatever would give you that idea!?" Lisa replied, her tone coming across more desperate than she had wanted it too.

"Because I've been waiting all day for you to message me and Im still waiting!" Carla chuckled lightly.

Lisa felt those familiar butterflies start to dance inside her stomach again.

"And there was me, trying to play it cool and not come across as desperate for some female companionship!" Lisa joked, trying to gage Carla's motive for wanting her to have her number.

Carla narrowed her eyes "Are you saying I'm coming across as desperate blondie?"

"Mmmm...just a little..." Lisa grinned playfully.

"What can I say, I enjoyed hanging out with you last night Lisa" she smiled.

"Well, what can I say, I'm delightful!" she chuckled, as Carla rolled her eyes.

"I see how this friendship is gonna work!" she laughed, shaking her head.

Friend zoned. Got it! Lisa felt herself deflate a little at that. She hadnt realised how much she had wanted this too be more than what it clearly was.

"I um, I better go..."

"Is everything ok?" Carla frowned, sensing the shift in Lisa's demeanor, the playful banter now replaced by a more guarded version of herself.

Lisa forced a smile. After all, Carla wasn't responsible for her feelings. She hadn't done anything wrong, Lisa had just read to much into it. She had wanted their interactions to be more than what they had obviously been for Carla.

"Yeah...fine. I just, you know, want to have a shower and that before dinner"

Carla kept her eyes on her, accepting her answer but not sure if she quite believed it.

"Sooo...I've got the tedious task of dishing out flyers again tonight...fancy meeting me down here for a drink on my break?" Carla smiled, her tone upbeat.

"I think I'm just going to have a quiet night back at the Hotel" Lisa replied, looking down at her feet and then back up at Carla "besides, I've not gotten much sleep the last few nights so...I think I'm going to get any early night"

"Oh..." Carla sounded a little dumbfounded, not really sure why Lisa suddenly seemed more distant, but she chose to brush it off, not wanting to appear as if it bothered her "Well, no worries...you get ya beauty sleep! Atleast one of us should!" she laughed "Maybe we can hang out again, you know, once you've caught up on ya sleep...grandma!" Carla smirked, turning to head back over to where she had left her friends still chatting.

"Carla, wait!..." Lisa held out her hand "give me your phone..."

Carla reached into the back pocket of her jeans and, unlocking it, handed it over to the blonde, eyes narrowed in slight suspicion.
Lisa proceeded to tap away quickly, before she looked up, handing it back to the brunette.

"I have your number...I think it's only fair you have mine too" she smiled, before turning and walking away, leaving Carla looking on after her.

...

Lisa didn't know whether she had just done the right thing or not, giving Carla her number. But she had felt bad for letting her down, being a little off with her without any real, good reason.
As the brunette had turned to walk away, Lisa had suddenly felt a rush of panick in just letting her go. She wanted this woman in her life...atleast for the time she was here...despite the fact that it would likely be nothing more than a friendship that was on the table...

Chapter Text

A little bit of a shorter, infill chapter. Thankyou to all of you still reading, commenting and liking this fic.x

Lisa spent the evening by herself. After dinner, she had poured herself a large glass of wine and sat out on the balcony with her book. The air was warm and the sound of the not too distant nightlife was a welcome addition to a quiet evening.

...

She had gone to message Carla several times, but had re-written and deleted every attempt she had made, so, in the end, she gave up, deciding that she would just think about messaging her tomorrow.

...

She got into bed, pulling the covers around her, the gentle, warmth of the breeze flowing in through the open, balcony doors.

...

Just as she was starting to drift off to sleep, she heard her phone vibrate on the bedside table beside her. She turned, reaching over slowly to pick it up. As she had put her number in her phone earlier in the day, she could already see it was from Carla...

"Is everything ok? You seemed...I dunno, a little off today? C x"

Lisa stared at the message, suddenly feeling a little bad about the way she had been with the brunette after she had casually "friend zoned" her.

Lisa sighed, as her fingers began typing a reply...

"Everything's fine, I promise. I was just tired, that's all. Managed to give out all those flyers yet!? :) x"

She hit send before she could overthink it. She spent the next few minutes chastising herself for behaving the way she had towards Carla. If a friendship was all that was ever going to be on offer, she would rather take that than be left without the brunette in her life...whatever happened when it was time for her to head home. If this was going to be just a "holiday" friendship, then she would take it.

"It's been on my mind, I thought I'd upset you and I wouldn't want that, Lisa...Ive enjoyed spending time with you. Ha, almost! I've pretty much had enough for one night though, some of the men can be such creeps...talking to ya chest instead of ya face!x"

"You haven't upset me. Like I said, I was just tired...I'm not used to late nights and clubbing anymore!ha. Can you blame them Carla, I mean, you are gorgeous ;) x"

Lisa sent her reply before her brain caught up with her fingers. She couldn't believe what she had just typed out without really thinking it through. What the hell was Carla going to think of her now!

Her phone buzzed and she barely dared to look at the reply...

"I guess I forget, my life is hardly anything but late nights and clubs! Are you flirting with me blondie!? ;).x"

Lisa swallowed hard, what had she done. Her fingers hovered over the letters, as she debated what to type back.
Then she shook her head, deciding that if a bit of harmless, flirty banter was on the cards, then she was going to take it...

"And what if I am... ;)"

She smiled to herself as she hit send.

A minute or two later, a reply came back...

"Well, what can I say...I AM irresistible after all! ;). Are you sure I can't persuade you into coming out for one drink!?"

"Carla, it's almost midnight! Besides, I'm already in bed! But, maybe we can do something when your next free.x"

"Spoilsport! I'd best let you get your beauty sleep! Sleep well blondie x"

Lisa smiled to herself as she put her phone back on the table beside the bed...

...

It had been a couple of days and Lisa had exchanged a few texts with Carla, but they had been sporadic due too the brunette's work pattern and, they hadn't seen each other since she had given Carla her number that afternoon by the beach.

...

Lisa had busied herself the last few days doing the usual touristy things. She had taken a walk down into Ibiza town, browsing round the different little shops and stalls that it had to offer. She had taken a trip to explore the Cova de Can Marçà cave and been snorkeling just off the bay.

She had never been one to be brave enough to do these types of things on her own, but she had pushed herself out of her comfort zone to do them. To prove to herself that she was stronger than what she believed she was...than her ex had believed she was.

She had even made friends when visiting the cave, with a couple of other women who had been on the same tour group as her and had joined them for lunch the next day.

...

As the first week of her holiday was drawing to an end, Lisa felt the happiest she had felt in a long time.

She had doubted, in the first few days, whether her decision to come here alone for a month had been the right one...but as she sat, watching the sunset over the bay from her balcony, she didn't wish to be anywhere else.

...

As she sat with her thoughts, her phone buzzed beside her on the arm of the sunlounger.

"Are you free tomorrow evening? Dinner at my place? I'll cook.x"...

Chapter Text

Lisa had tried to keep herself busy during the day, more so than usual, but all she seemed able to think about was dinner...tonight...with Carla.

She didn't know why she was allowing herself to make it into such a big deal. She knew the score, knew that Carla wasn't interested in her like that...but she still couldn't stop the underlying nerves that had been plaguing her all day.

...

As she sat Infront of the mirror getting ready, she thought back to the way the brunette had danced with her that night...and the way she kissed her goodnight. Maybe that was just her personality, who she was. Flirty, sexual, over friendly...a tease. After all, Lisa hadnt long met her, so how would she really have any idea.

Lisa hadn't met anyone like her before. Perhaps because Carla was so far removed from the kind of person she herself was...more quiet, reserved, less outgoing and only mildly flirty now and again.

They appeared polar opposites, yet, somehow, Lisa was completely drawn to her...and Carla seemed to enjoy Lisa's company also. The companionship seemed genuine on both sides.

...

Lisa had opted for a more casual, dressed down look, yet it still gave an air of smart. She didn't want to go over the top, but also didn't want to appear like she hadn't made any effort, just incase they ended up going out after dinner which, having gotten to know Carla over the past week, was a possibility.

She had teamed a pair of black, tailored, linen trousers with a teal coloured, halter neck, sleeveless top. Her hair was up on the top of her head in a messy bun, her bangs tucked behind her ears, her makeup subtle and just there.

...

She grabbed her bag and jacket and headed down to the front of the Hotel.

...

Carla had given her her address and, although it was only just over a ten minute walk from Lisa's hotel, she suggested Lisa get a taxi having not been there before.

...

Lisa paid the driver, watching as he drove off down the cobbled street.

She turned, standing for a moment as she searched for the number of Carla's apartment on the intercom. Gathering herself and taking a deep breath...she reached out to push the button.

...

Lisa reached the door to Carla's apartment and knocked on the door.

She had a mix of nervous excitement at seeing the brunette again and spending the evening in her company.

...

The door opened after a moment, Carla standing there, her smile causing Lisa's heart to flutter.

"I'm so pleased you could make it!...Come in!"

She stood aside so that Lisa could make her way in.

Carla closed the door behind her, Lisa turning to face her as she pulled the blonde into a hug.

"Please, make yourself at home!" she smiled, as she pulled back, her gaze lingering with Lisa's just a second longer than necessary "Wine?..."

Lisa nodded as she took off her jacket "Please..."

...

Lisa sat on the sofa, glass of wine in hand as Carla busied herself finishing their dinner.

As soon as the brunette had opened the door, Lisa's breath caught and she had to fight to disguise it. Carla's beauty made her nervous, in a way that set every nerve ending on fire.

She was aware she shouldn't be secretly harbouring these kinds of feelings for the brunette, but in her defence, they were somewhat out of her control.

Lisa couldn't pinpoint exactly what it was about her that drew her too her, because it was more than just one, easy answer. She was stunning... Her smokey eyes captivating, her crimson red lips mesmerising, her smile enough to make you weak at the knees.

Her hair hung straight, one side tucked back behind her ear. She wore a short, denim skirt and a simple, bright red tank top. It was effortless, yet she still looked incredible.

Lisa took a large gulp of her wine as she tried to bury any thoughts of the brunette that were making her feel a little too 'hot under the collar'.

She looked around the apartment. It was small but open and airy at the same time. White walls, light oak laminate floors, taupe sofa and chairs with dark green, gold and mustard cushions and throws. There was a cream rug in the middle of the floor opposite the sofa, a glass coffee table in it's centre.
Minimal artwork adorned the walls, an abstract mix of blacks and golds.

Carla's apartment was on the top floor and looked out across the town below, a view of the bay just visible in the distance.

"You have a lovely place here Carla..." Lisa finally remarked, turning in her chair to face the brunette, who glanced over at her from behind the kitchenette.

She smiled warmly "Thanks. It's not much, but it's mine, ya know."

She walked out from behind the kitchen worktop, two plates in hand "I hope your hungry...I kinda went overboard on the pasta!" she laughed, setting the plates down as Lisa stood, making her way over to take a seat at the dining table.

...

"You are such a cheat!!" Lisa laughed, curling her feet up beneath her on the sofa, as Carla sat down beside her, her body angled slightly in the blondes direction, as she leaned back against the soft cushions, a grin set on her face.

"What...I still had to do the cooking!"

"Carla...putting a couple of pre-prepared meals that you got your friend to knock up, in the oven, is NOT cooking!" Lisa giggled, shaking her head.

"It is in the Carla Connor world of cooking!" Carla smirked back playfully, taking a sip of her wine "besides, if I had actually done the cooking from scratch, I couldn't have guaranteed that you wouldn't have left here without a dodgy tummy!"

Lisa arched an eyebrow "Seriously!?"

"Seriously!" Carla chuckled back "Cooking is deffinately not my forte. I'm seriously lacking in any sort of kitchen skills!"

...

A content, yet slightly tension filled silence lingered between them, both aware that the other was stealing little glances when they thought the other wasn't looking.

Carla lay her head back, closing her eyes and letting out a barely audible sigh.

Lisa took another sip of her wine, before she too, leaned her side into the softness of the cushions.

"You seem to have a happy life here..." Lisa spoke softly, half rhetorical, half allowing her thoughts to spill out in words.

Carla kept her eyes closed, a faint smile ghosting her lips "Mmmmm..." she hummed in response.

Lisa gazed out of the window at the view, a mix of bright lights from bars and the soft, warm glows from streetlights and homes blanketing the night sky in a hazy mist of warmth.

"I wish I was more like you, Carla...bold, confident...sure of who you are. You seem to know what you want, like you've got it all figured out. I envy that..."

Carla opened her eyes, as she turned her head towards the blonde, clocking the distant, almost sad look behind her eyes.

"What makes you think I've got anything figured out, Lisa?" Carla's tone was soft.

Lisa drew her gaze back from the world outside to look back at the brunette "Haven't you...?"

Carla stared into her wine glass "Sometimes I think I have...then other times..." she shook her head a little "I was running away from a messy break-up. All I knew back then, was that I needed to leave and not look back..."

"I'm sorry..." Lisa replied, her voice gentle.

Carla smiled at the blonde "That's the thing about me, Lisa...I've had a big gob and a confident front to carry me through life but, underneath that...is just a woman, fighting to survive, ya know" she held Lisa's gaze "I'm no different to you, blondie. We're both broken...looking for something that's going to make us whole again and hiding the disappointment when it doesn't come." Carla paused, before asking her question carefully "what happened, you know, between you and your ex?"

Lisa held her gaze for a second longer, before looking down into her lap "She um...she cheated on me...not just the once either..." she started, her voice wavering just a little, before she pulled back control "She told me the reason she did so, was because I wasn't fun anymore. She said I hid behind her and she was sick of me being in her shadow..."

"Lisa, that's awful...I'm so sorry..." Carla reached out, placing her hand gently on knee.

"She was right though Carla..." Lisa continued, wiping a single tear from her cheek "I did hide in her shadow. I'm not like her...like you...I'm not outwardly confident. I don't have a front I can just put up. What you see is what you get and I guess that just wasn't enough for her. That's why I'm here. I wanted too, I dunno...prove to her...to myself, that I can leave my comfort zone...push myself to do things that terrify me..."

Lisa realised then, that Carla's hand was still resting on her knee. She suddenly felt nervous again, as she slowly brought her gaze up to meet the brunette's.

Carla held her gaze, smiling warmly back at her, as she spoke, barely above a whisper "If you were mine...I'd never have let you go..."

Her words replayed in Lisa's head, as she felt her pulse rate quicken, her breaths almost coming in short bursts and she swallowed her nerves. She felt a shiver run through her body, as her eyes flickered down to Carla's lips, then back up into the deep, green pools of her eyes.

Before she had time to think, to convince herself it wasn't a good idea, to tell her slightly tipsy self that she would regret this in the morning...she leaned forward, without hesitation...and took the brunette's lips in her own.

She felt Carla tense, just for a second, before she felt her let go and melt into the kiss.

Lisa's lips softly caressed Carla's.

At first, it wasn't heated, it wasn't passionate...it was safe, tentative, gentle.

Lisa pulled back slowly, both of them staring into each others eyes, chests now moving up and down with a slightly more ragged pace.
Lisa waited, allowing Carla to make the next move...

She closed her eyes, as she felt Carla's hand snake round the back of her neck, gently guiding her in towards her, as their lips met for a second time. This time, the kiss was deeper. As tongues finally met, both women let out a soft moan at the contact.

Lisa could have stayed in this moment forever...but she was still very aware that the woman she was kissing, was straight.
She didn't want to push Carla, or lose the friendship. If she broke it off now, she could put it down to being tipsy and emotional.

Lisa slowly pulled back. Carla's hand was still at the base of her neck.

"I um...I should go, it's getting late..." Lisa whispered, her eyes locked on Carla's.

Carla nodded slowly "Let me call you a taxi?"

Lisa smiled warmly "I think I'll be ok, I'll use maps on my phone. It's a nice evening out..."

...

Lisa stood at the door, Carla stood close Infront of her.

"Thankyou, for tonight. Its been lovely..."

"Let me know you get back safe, yeah" Carla responded, hesitating just a little, before she leaned in to give the blonde a hug. She pulled back, her eyes on Lisa's "Night, Lisa..."

"Night Carla..."...

Chapter Text

Lisa had taken herself down to the beach by late morning.

...

She had navigated to her usual spot, where it wasn't too crowded and lay her towel out. She wore a casual pair of denim dungaree shorts, a bikini underneath incase she decided to go in the water.

...

She pulled her knees up to her chest, her arms hugging them loosely, as she stared out across the crystal, blue water.

...

Her thoughts drifted back to last night...to the brunette...to that kiss.

She replayed it over in her mind as she had walked back to her hotel. Carla's hand on her knee, the softness of her lips, the way she moaned into the kiss.

Lisa had wanted more...so much more...

She screwed her eyes shut, trying to banish the images and desires that were running through her mind right now.

...

She had messaged Carla to let her know she had got home safe, but as of yet, today, she hadn't sent her a message...and the brunette hadn't messaged her either.

Lisa wanted to message, but she had no idea where to start. Did she just act normal? Should she bring up what happened between them? Did Carla regret it? Did she still even want to know Lisa? Would she put it all down to too much wine? Was it an experiment for her?... after all, Carla had never been interested in another woman in that way before, so why should she, Lisa, be any different!?

'Get a grip Lisa!' she inwardly chastised herself.

She opened her eyes, staring once again out across the sea, resting her chin on her knees as she hugged them tighter to her chest.

...

"Penny for them..."

Lisa jumped, caught off guard by the sudden intrusion of a voice behind her.

She lifted her head, as Carla sat down on the sand beside her, propping herself up on her palms, her fingers disappearing beneath the soft sand.

The brunette let out a laugh "Sorry blondie, didn't mean to make you jump!" she stared at Lisa for a second, before closing her eyes and tilting her head back, her face towards the sun.

Lisa, for a moment, sat still, silent. The last thing she had expected, was to see Carla now sitting here beside her.

She thought on her feet quickly, deciding the best thing was to just act as she normally would have done before last night happened.

"...Funnily enough, choosing to sneak up on people, does have the tendancy to make then jump!" she laughed.

Carla let out another chuckle in response "Sorry. I just, saw you sat here and couldn't help myself!"

"Evidently!" Lisa grinned.

A still silence passed between them, neither one knowing how to start conversation that had once come so easy.

Lisa knew she needed to be the one to break this underlying tension between them, so she tried to keep her voice as casual as she could manage.

"So, you working tonight?"

"Yeah!...I don't have to be in until half 11 though, so a group of us are heading into town to grab something to eat beforehand. It's one of our mates birthday's"

"I don't know how you do it! Id be shattered!"

"Just used to it I guess!" Carla smiled "You should come...to the club I mean! Tonight's going to be a foam party and they're always a good night!"...

...

Lisa flopped down on the mattress on her back, letting out a heavy sigh.

After today, seeing Carla, she was even more confused about everything.
The brunette had acted no differently with her after their kiss, than she had done before it happened. It was just as if what happened happened...and today was a new day.

Lisa had no idea where she now stood with Carla. Was it something they were just going to brush under the carpet, not talk about? Was Carla just good at pretending? Did she regret what happened, but was trying to spare her feelings by carrying on as normal?

Lisa knew she couldn't just bury what had happened. She needed to talk about it, what it meant for them going forward.
Maybe Carla felt unable to bring it up, to talk about it? Maybe she was unsure of how Lisa felt about what had happened?

Either way, it would need to be addressed at some point. Lisa needed to know where she stood. She could feel her feelings for Carla growing stronger by the day...and if the brunette could only ever see her as a friend, she needed to know sooner rather than later, to be able to catch herself before she fell to deep.

...

Lisa had decided to get a ticket for Es Paradis last minute. She had the somewhat brave, somewhat unplanned and somewhat stupid idea to suprise Carla by turning up, hoping that she could persuade her to atleast have a drink with her on her break.

...

The baseline coursed through Lisa's entire body as soon as she stepped into the main arena.

She got there a little before 1am, having sat procrastinating about her decision to go in the final few hours before hand.

The main dancefloor was covered in a white foam, that turned a mix of pink and blue as the strobe lights danced over it.
Everyone on the dancefloor was either covered in foam or drenched through from being in the thick of it.

...

"What can I get ya love?"

"Rum and Coke please!" Lisa all but shouted at the bartender with a smile.

He nodded.

She turned, leaning back against the bar, her elbows just resting slightly on the edge.

He gaze moved around the lower floor, scanning the swarm of bodies for any sign of Carla.
She drew her attention upwards towards the balcony area...the sight that met her eyes almost knocking the wind entirely from her lungs.

Carla was stood at the edge of the glass balcony, her arms wrapped around someone tall and dark haired, his hands on her lower back, their bodies pressed together, their lips barely parting for air...

Chapter Text

Lisa didn't wait for Carla to notice her, didn't hang around to let the brunette find her, didn't march right up to them and make her presence known...

No. She simply turned, not even acknowledging the barman as he called out after her, forgetting that she had even ordered a drink just moments before.

She had to get out of there. She couldn't stay there.

...

After getting changed into her vest top and shorts, she grabbed the fluffy dressing gown that hung on the back of the bathroom door and went to sit out on the balcony.

The early morning air was a little cooler, yet it still carried an undertone of warmth.

Lisa was tired, but her mind wouldn't let her rest. Instead, thoughts raced around, each one tripping up the other in their race to occupy the most room at the forefront of her mind.

She sat silently, staring straight ahead but staring at nothing in particular. Staring past the view Infront of her, as if she were looking at something only she could see.

...

She felt angry, betrayed, bitter, hurt...yet she also knew she had no right too any of these feelings that the brunette had stirred inside her...because, truthfully, Lisa knew that she really hadn't done anything wrong.

Carla was single, she was straight, she was having a good time and she owed Lisa nothing. She had implied to her that this was nothing more than a friendship between them. Lisa was aware of that...she knew where she stood...

...but then why did Carla say what she did, tell her if she was her's, that she wouldn't let her go? Why didn't she pull away when Lisa went to kiss her?...and why did she kiss her back like it was more than just two friends, who were a little tipsy, just fooling around for a laugh?

...

Maybe that's just who Carla was? After all, she had only known her a little over a week...what did she honestly, really know about her? Maybe she got her kicks leading people on...and it didn't matter if it was a man or a woman.

Somehow, Lisa just hadn't got that impression from her...but maybe she was wrong.

Lisa knew one thing for certain though, she couldn't be around the brunette anymore. She couldn't punish herself by staying her friend when she felt the way she did about her.
It wasn't fair on her and it wasn't fair on Carla either.

...

Lisa stirred, as she slowly came too. She had finally drifted off around 4 that morning, her thoughts finally quietening down enough to allow sleep to claim her.

She stretched, reaching out for her phone to check the time.
1.30pm...she hadn't slept in this late since she was a teenager!

She saw that she had a few messages on her phone. One from the friends she had made a few days ago when she went on the tour of that cave...and another from Carla.

She took a deep breath, before she opened it to read...

"You missed a great night last night Lis! I'm working tonight, but I'll get a break, if you fancy meeting for a drink...my shout? x"

Lisa stared at the message, re reading it several times, before taking another deep breath and dismissing it.
She instead, proceeded to open the next message that had been sent by the friends she had met, asking is she wanted to join them for dinner this evening.

She didn't really feel like being sociable, in truth, she just wanted to hide away, but she told herself that going out and enjoying some un-complicated company, was just what she needed.

...

"The view from up there was incredible! You could see for miles! Have you tried parasailing Lisa?" Jen asked, twisting her pasta around on her fork against her spoon.

"I haven't, no. It's something I'd like to do while I'm here though!"

"You should deffinately give it a go!" Kate nodded, taking a sip of her wine.

...

Lisa was having a nice evening. Jen and Kate were nice, down to earth and she got on well enough with them.

They had spent the evening finding out more about one another and Lisa was glad that she had decided to take them up on the offer of dinner and drinks.

It had been good for her. No confusion, no having to bury feelings.

...

"Right, my turn to get a round in! Same again ladies?" Kate smiled, Lisa and Jen nodding as she headed off in the direction of the bar.

As Lisa listened to Jen talking about what her and Kate were planning to do tomorrow, she glanced over her shoulder, her eyes falling immediately on Carla, who was stood, flyers in hand, staring back at the blonde.

Lisa quickly averted her gaze back to Jen, nodding along as if she knew what she had just said in these past few seconds.

Just then, Kate came back with the drinks "These..." she said, handing them out "Are from our gentleman admirers at the bar!" she grinned.

Lisa and Jen both turned, indiscreetly, to glance over in their direction. The men raised their drinks up as they stood at the bar, and the woman turned back to one another, chuckling between themselves.

"I think we're in there ladies!" Kate grinned, sipping her drink.

"Well, you two might be, but they deffinately aren't my type!" Lisa let out a laugh.

"Not your type!? Fit, gorgeous, muscly...that's not your type!?" Jen quizzed.

"Lisa...hi..." Carla had approached her table as they sat chatting.

"Hey..." Lisa replied, giving Carla the faintest of smiles, before averting her gaze back to the others.

"I messaged you earlier...did you not get it?"

"Oh...sorry, yeah, I did. It's just been a busy day, you know..." Lisa tried to sound as casual as possible.

Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Carla frowning, confusion etched across her face.

"Lis, can I talk to you a moment...?"

"I'm a little busy right now Carla..."

"Please, Lisa..."

Lisa looked over at the others, who smiled and signalled that it was ok for her to disappear for a minute.

...

Lisa didn't say a word, as she inwardly took a deep breath, trying to compose herself as she stood up from the table and followed Carla across the promenade.

When they were out of ear shot of most people, Carla stopped, turning around to face Lisa.

"Have I done something to upset you Lisa?"

"I don't know, have you!?" Lisa hadn't meant for that to come out the way it did. Her tone was sharp, clipped...and Carla looked taken aback by it.

"Lisa!..."

"Look, I'm sorry...I can't do this right now..."

"Is this about what happened the other night?"

Lisa scoffed indignantly "I need to go..."

"No, Lisa, we need to talk...please...I don't understand what's happened between us..."

Lisa stared back at her, suddenly feeling a strength inside herself that she had felt in a long time...

"I came by the club last night, you know, to suprise you!..."

Carla's brows furrowed a little, a look of slight confusion as to where this was going evident on her face "...Ok..." she replied slowly.

"Is this just some sort of game to you, Carla, you know, messing with people's feelings!?"

"What?...I...Lisa, I have no idea what you're talking about?"

"We kissed, Carla! I thought that there was a possibility that it meant more than just a drunken mistake...but then I get to the club and I see you, in some guys arms, kissing him without a care in the world! I know I have no right to be angry with you, your a free agent and I know I'm not your type! But, don't lead me on and play with my emotions so flippantly!"

Carla stood, stunned into silence as she stared back at the blonde. She saw Lisa struggling to hide the tears behind her eyes. She instinctively took a step forward, wanting to wrap her arms around the blondes but hesitant too.

Lisa almost immediately took a step back, folding her arms across her chest like a barrier.

"Lisa...I..."

Carla began, but Lisa shook her head "Don't, Carla...please, just don't..."

Lisa needed to walk away before it all became too much. She glanced up at the brunette once more, before she turned and walked away...

Thankyou to everyone showing continued support for this fic! I really appreciate it ☺️

"I have to go, I'm sorry" Lisa said, as she went back to the table where Jen and Kate were sat and grabbed her bag from the chair.

"Is everything ok Lisa?" Jen asked, concern etching it's way onto her face.

"Fine. I'm sorry, I just...I need to go. Here..." she handed Jen what she guessed would be enough to cover her part of the bill, plus a little extra "Thankyou...for tonight, I've had a really nice evening"

"Are you sure your ok?" Kate quizzed, glancing behind her, seeing the same brunette that had approached their table, stood looking over at them.

Lisa nodded, forcing a smile, as she turned and began heading in the direction of her Hotel.

...

She could hear the brunette calling her name, but she didn't turn around. She just kept on putting one foot Infront of the other, concentrating on not stumbling over her feet and getting back to her room before she burst into tears.

"LISA!!?..."

The blonde took a deep breath as she rounded the corner, her eyes landing on the welcome sight of her Hotel.

"LISA! FOR GOD SAKE, WILL YOU JUST TALK TO ME!"

Lisa could hear Carla's feet picking up their pace as she began practically running to catch up with the blonde.

"JUST LEAVE ME ALONE CARLA!"

...

Lisa felt a hand reach out and grab her wrist, causing her to come to a stop. She felt herself being turned around, coming face to face with the brunette.

...

Neither of them spoke for a moment, they just stared back at one another, both a little out of breath.

...

Finally, Carla was the one to break the silence between them.

"You can't just say things like you said to me back there and then just walk away, Lisa!"

Lisa scoffed "Aren't you meant to be working!?"

Carla shook her head in disbelief, frowning...perplexed at this entire situation.

"Don't change the subject Lisa! What the hell is going on with you?"

Lisa had to hold her tongue. She wanted to tell the brunette exactly what was going on...what she was feeling...what she was thinking, but she didn't know where to begin, because her feelings towards Carla had taken her completely by surprise...and she was still trying to get her head around it all herself.

"... It's nothing, it doesn't matter..."

It was Carla's turn to scoff "I'm sorry, I don't believe you!"

"Carla..."

"Lisa! I'm not letting you walk away from me! Just talk to me!" Carla's voice softened then, as she took a step closer, reaching out and taking Lisa's hand in hers "...Please..."

Lisa stared down at the ground, feeling a shiver run up her arm at Carla's touch.

She slowly pulled her hand away, looking back up at the brunette.

"...I'm not doing this on the street..." Lisa's voice a low whisper.

Lisa turned, taking the final few steps towards the glass doors of the Hotel. She knew she didn't need to say anything else...she knew that the brunette would follow her.

...

They sat out on the balcony. Silence lingered in the night air between them.

Lisa took a large gulp of the wine she had poured herself. If she was going to say what was on her mind...admit to Carla how she felt...she needed a bit of extra Dutch courage before doing so.

...

Carla subtly kept glancing sideways at the blonde. She would be lying if she said she didn't atleast have the smallest of inklings about what was going on with Lisa...but she needed her to be honest with her...she needed her to admit it to herself, not just Carla.

She decided to take a softer approach, hoping it would get Lisa to open up...

...

Carla kept her eyes focused out Infront of her, as she spoke quietly "I'm...I'm sorry, if I've hurt you Lisa..."

Lisa swallowed her nerves, taking another sip of her wine.
Carla turned to look at her now, her eyes piercing through the dark, waiting for Lisa to look back at her.

"Please, Lisa..."...

Lisa took a deep breath, finally turning her head to face the brunette, their eyes locking into one another.

"Why did you do it, Carla?..."

Carla furrowed her brows a little, but her eyes never left Lisa's "Do what, Lisa?"

"Kiss me back?" Lisa paused for a second before continuing "When I kissed you, back at yours...why did you kiss me back...?"

Carla stared back at the blonde, feeling her heart rate begin to quicken as she processed what Lisa was saying.

"...It was just a drunken kiss between two friends, Lisa..." Carla felt her mouth go dry, her words barely convincing herself, let alone the blonde that was looking back at her.

"You want me to be honest with you...but I know your not being honest with me Carla! Ive seen the way you've looked at me, the way you have pressed your body up against mine. The way you kissed me back that night Carla...that wasn't just a drunken moment between friends! I know it...and I think deep down, you know it too!, so why can't you just be honest about how you feel!?"

Carla averted her gaze away from Lisa and down at the floor.

Lisa tentatively reached out, placing her hand on Carla's.

Carla felt a surge of electricity course through her body at the blondes touch.
She kept her eyes down, her reply a soft whisper "...I'm...I'm terrified, Lisa..."...

"...Of what...of me...?"

Carla nodded, slowly bringing her gaze back up to find Lisa's kind eyes looking back at her.

"This...it's all new to me. I've never...I've never felt these feelings before...not for a..."...

Carla trailed off.

Lisa smiled warmly, her presence comforting in a moment that should have felt tense "...woman?..." Lisa finished the brunette's sentence.

"...I don't know how to deal with this..." Carla whispered.

For the first time, Lisa heard the raw vulnerability in the other woman's voice. She was letting the blonde see a side to her that she instinctively knew, nobody else got to see.

Lisa spoke softly "Why did you kiss that guy at the club last night?"

Carla felt her walls crumbling brick by brick, as she began to realise the growing intensity of her feelings for the woman sat opposite her.

"It...it didn't mean anything. I...my head was spinning with what I was feeling for you and I...I just...I kissed him because I was confused...because I was scared of what my feelings for you meant. I guess I was trying to convince myself that...when we...when we kissed, it...it was nothing more than what it was...a drunken moment between two friends..." Carla held Lisa's gaze "...but all it did was convince me otherwise..."

Lisa let Carla's words hang in the air between them as she let what she had just said, sink in. She understood that the brunette's admission was a big deal for her and, she needed to tread carefully with how she responded.
Lisa squeezed Carla's hand gently.

"I'm sorry, you know, for the way I reacted after I saw you kissing that guy..." Lisa's voice was low, steady, grounding "I was hurting. Seeing you with him...it hurt, because I thought that you were just playing with my feelings...like I was, I don't know...some kind of experiment..."

"I never meant to make you feel like that, Lisa..." Carla whispered, sadness in her voice.

"I know that now..." Lisa smiled, as she reached up and tucked a wayward strand of hair behind Carla's ear.

"S, so um...where do we um...where do we go, you know, from here...?" Carla asked, her voice laced with a little trepidation.

"I like you Carla. I have feelings for you that go beyond friendship...you know that now..." Lisa looked deeply into the brunette's eyes, hoping that she would hear the scencerity in her voice and the truth in her words "...but I'm not going to push you into anything your not completely comfortable with. So...we take things slowly, let things happen naturally...because, Carla Connor...I think the idea of being with you, is worth waiting for..."

Lisa watched, as Carla's shoulders visibly relaxed...light a weight that had been weighing her down had finally been lifted.

Carla smiled "If um...if we're going to do this...us...I want to do it properly" she reached up, her palm cupping the blondes cheek as her thumb softly grazed over her skin "...let me take you out on a date, Lisa?..."

Lisa felt her heart melt "I'd be honoured, to go on a date with you, Carla..."...

Date Night: Part 1:-

Lisa was up early that morning. She had barely slept, yet she felt a light happiness within her that no amount of lack of sleep could dull.

...

After their talk last night, both of them admitting that what they felt for one another, went deeper than just friendship, they sat together on the balcony, Carla's hand in Lisa's, both of them quietly acknowledging this new dynamic that had shifted between them, as they stared out into the night sky.

It was a simple gesture...but one that needed no words.

Carla had left after a while, needing to head back to work. They hadn't parted with a kiss, or even a hug...just the holding of hands and a smile that said all they needed to say in that moment.

...

Lisa had barely been able to contain the smile that had been plastered across her face ever since last night.

She had had a spring in her step as she went down for breakfast that morning, unable to get the brunette off her mind.

...

She spent another day sat out by the pool. As the morning had gone on, she had felt the lack of sleep creeping up on her, closing her eyes to then find herself waking up an hour later.

Lisa reached for her water, taking her phone from her bag at the same time, to find that she had received a message from Carla...

"Hope you slept well last night blondie :). I've booked us a table at this lovely little tapas bar along the promenade. I'll be outside your Hotel for 7 this evening. C x"

...

Lisa felt a mix of giddy excitement and nervous anxiety, as she got herself ready for her first, official date with Carla.

She hadn't been on a proper date in what felt like forever and, with the added pressure of knowing that this was the first ever date that the brunette had been on with a woman, she felt even more nervous than she would do normally.

...

Carefully, Lisa applied a clear gloss to her lips, the finishing touch that was needed to complete her look for the evening.

She wanted to look especially nice tonight. She wanted Carla to feel proud to be out with her...perhaps even hold her hand. She wouldn't push it though, she wouldn't push anything between them. She wanted Carla to feel comfortable, at ease being with her.

She stood back from the mirror, making sure that she looked ok.
She had chosen a strapless, dark teal, knee length dress and paired it with a pair of simple, black gladiator sandals.
Her eye makeup was a little more heavy and noticeable, the colours she had chosen bringing out the colour in her eyes and her hair was loosely curled and pinned back on one side.

She finished the g&t that she had brought back with her from the pool bar and then made her way down to meet the brunette.

...

Lisa had expected to have to wait for Carla to get there, having head down a good five minutes before the time she was meant to get there.
But she was already there, waiting for Her.

She watched Carla push her body off the wall of the Hotel, turning and taking a few steps towards her.

"Hey..." Carla smiled, her voice steady, yet a little quieter than usual.

Lisa's eyes raked up and down the brunettes body, words seeming to fail her, as she stood staring, caught like a deer in headlights.

Carla was wearing a pair of high waisted, smart, black shorts, with what looked like a simple, white strappy top underneath a fitted, black waistcoat. Her hair was sleek and straight and large, silver hooped earrings glinted as the light caught them.
Her makeup was as usual, dark smokey eyes paired with a red lips.

"Carla, you...you look...amazing..." Lisa finally managed to breath out, as her eyes locked onto the other woman's.

Carla let out a soft chuckle, taking another step forwards and reaching both her hands out for the blondes "So do you, Lisa..." she smiled "... beautiful..."

Lisa closed her eyes as Carla leaned in to place the softest of kisses to her cheek.

Lisa felt butterflies in her stomach, just from the faintest of touches from Carla's lips on her skin.

"Shall we..." Carla pulled back, looking into the blondes eyes.

Lisa nodded, expecting Carla to let go of her hands...but she only let go of one, keeping the other held, their fingers gently entwining, as they walked.

...

"Thanks..." Carla turned away from the bar and walked back over to Lisa "Fancy taking these down onto the beach?"

"How is it you can even move right now?" Lisa chuckled "The food was so good but I'm so full, I feel like a beached whale!"

Carla smirked "That's an image!" she handed Lisa her glass, as the blonde slowly pushed her chair back from the table and stood to her feet "I'm lucky I guess, Ive got a fast metabolism, I don't tend to feel overly full for long."

"Well good for you!" Lisa rolled her eyes, as she followed Carla out of the restaurant.

...

They took their shoes off, the sand still a little warm beneath their bare feet from the days heat.

They wandered in comfortable silence, their feet sinking slightly into the soft sand.

A little way back from the shoreline, they sat down, close to one another, their thighs and arms almost touching, but not quite.

Carla took a sip from her glass, her gaze focused out across the sea.

Lisa glanced at the brunette, the moment suddenly feeling like it needed a little conversation to break the sudden, simmering tension.

"Thankyou...for tonight, Carla. I've had a really lovely evening"

Carla turned to look at her, brows raised "You've HAD, a really lovely evening...is that your way of breaking it to me gently that it's time to call it a night!?"

Lisa's eyes widened "NO! God no, I..."...

Carla let out a laugh "Lis, I'm just messing with ya, relax!"

Lisa breathed a sigh of relief, nudging the brunette's shoulder with her own. Carla chuckled quietly.

"I've had a lovely night too, Lisa..." Carla turned, searching for Lisa's gaze and holding it in her own when she found it "I'm um, I'm not usually one too feel nervous...feeling this nervous is a new one on me"

Lisa furrowed her brows a little "Carla...if, after tonight, you've decided, that you don't want things between us to, I don't know, change...or go anywhere, then, don't be afraid to tell me. Ill understand...I know this is a massive thing for you."

Carla shook her head, keeping her eyes locked on Lisa's "It's not that." She whispered, letting her hand move to find the blondes, entwining their fingers "I'm nervous because I haven't fallen for anyone this quickly before."

"You've fallen for me...?" Lisa replied, her voice a quiet whisper, never once breaking eye contact for a second.

Carla nodded, the movement slow "Mmhmmm" she smiled affectionately, placing her glass down, before bringing her hand up, her palm softly cradling Lisa's cheek "I've fallen for you, blondie...without a safety net to catch me...and that's terrifying."

"I'm scared too..." Lisa whispered "...but I'm more scared of turning my back on something that could be...amazing..." she smiled warmly.

Carla felt a calming warmth radiate through her body. She saw the genuine, sincerity behind Lisa's eyes...and she felt her nerves begin to subside.

"Lisa...?"

Carla's voice spoke her name with a clear want and desire behind it, that Lisa hadn't heard before...and she felt her chest suddenly begin to rise and fall just a little bit quicker.

"Mmm?" Was all the blonde managed to get out.

"...Can I...kiss you now?"

Carla's words were barely audible, their eyes darkening as they both felt a shiver run through their veins.
Lisa barely moved her head to nod, her gaze flickering down to the brunette's lips, then back to her eyes.

The gentle sound of waves breaking in the background and chatter and music from the bars, all but faded away, neither one of them focused on anything, or anyone, but one another.

They both slowly leaned in, lips barely touching at first.
Even though they had shared a kiss before, this time, as they pulled back briefly, then leaned in once more, it felt completely different.

Carla let a gentle moan escape her, as she felt the softness of Lisa's lips gently caress her own. She felt the blonde suck at her bottom lip, as she let the tip of her tongue, tentatively lick at Lisa's top lip.
Carla shuddered, as she felt Lisa's fingers entwining in her hair, as her hand worked to pull the brunette's face as close as she could to her own, before she let her tongue glide effortlessly into Carla's mouth, causing both women to illicit a soft moan.

Lisa felt her head spin as she kissed the brunette. Her heart raced as she felt her tongue stroking her own. It was everything that Lisa had remembered it being and so much more. Lisa knew in that moment, she would never tire of kissing the brunette. If she could bottle the feelings that were coursing through her body right now, she would.

Lisa could spend hours like this and, if it weren't for the fact that they both required oxygen to breath, she would.

She reluctantly broke away, resting her forehead against Carla's, as both of them caught their breath.

"I could...kiss you, like that...forever..." Lisa smiled, her words a breathy whisper.

Carla smiled, not that Lisa could see it, but she felt it.

"Where um...where do we go from here?"

Lisa pulled back a little, so she could look into the brunette's eyes "I'll go wherever you go, Carla. But, just so you know, there's no pressure this end, you know...for us to take things further tonight, ok?"

Carla looked into Lisa's eyes, before she leaned in and captured her bottom lip in a gentle kiss, before pulling away, biting at her bottom lip as she did so.

"I want too feel your body pressed against mine, Lisa..." Carla's voice carried a low, sultry tone that sent a shiver through to Lisa's core, her mouth dry as she swallowed hard "...I want to dance with you..."...

Thankyou so much to you all for the continued love for this fic! I love reading your comments 😘.x

Date Night: Part 2 :-

Carla didn't let go of Lisa's hand, as they walked back along the beach towards the promenade.

Lisa had thought that Carla may struggle with the idea of being seen with her...with a woman, especially in an intimate way...but so far, she had been wrong.

The brunette hadn't seemed fazed about people seeing them holding hands, or even kissing. It was like this was completely normal for her, like being with a woman was second nature to her.

...

Lisa held Carla's hand a little tighter as they stepped into the packed nightclub where the brunette worked.

She had got them in for free, but Lisa would not have minded paying if it meant that she could dance with Carla.

She remembered every detail, every shiver, every touch from the last time they had danced together. Lisa had struggled too stop herself from escalating things between them, unsure of where they stood with one another.

But this time...this time, she knew exactly where she stood with Carla...and she couldn't wait to feel her body pressed against her own, let Carla experience a side to Lisa that would be the brunette's undoing.

...

"Shots?"

Carla turned to face the blonde as they approached the bar.

"I will if you will..." She replied, as Carla turned to the barman.

"Alright gorgeous, what are you doing here on your night off!?" They both leaned forwards as he placed a friendly kiss to her cheek.

"What can I say, I just can't keep away!" She grinned "This is Lisa, she's here with me" Carla turned, flashing her that signature smile that had Lisa's breath catching in her throat.

"Nice to meet ya Lisa!"

"This is Nick..." Carla replied, wrapping her arm around Lisa's waist and pulling the blonde into her.

"Hi..." Lisa smiled, sensing that this wasn't the kind of environment that required a handshake.

"Can we get four shots of tequila please babe!" Carla smiled, as Nick lay out four shot glasses on the bar, pouring the clear liquid into each, filling them almost to the brim.

"On the house ladies!" Nick winked, before he turned his attention towards the next punter.

"Here" Carla turned, holding a shot glass out to Lisa.

"Carla...I can't! The last time I had tequila, things didn't end well!"

"Oh come on Lis, live a little!...for me...please..." Carla bit down on her bottom lip, her gaze holding Lisa's.

"Fine..." Lisa replied, taking the glass from Carla "but don't say I didn't want you!"

"Ready!? Three, two, one..."

Lisa felt the alcohol burn the back of her throat. She screwed her eyes shut, as she focused on not bringing it back up.

She let out a breath, before looking up to find Carla looking back at her, an amused smile spread across her face.

Lisa raised an eyebrow "Unless you'd like the next shot thrown in your face, I'd suggest you keep whatever comment your wanting to say right now to yourself!"

Carla let out an amused laugh, handing the blonde her second shot.

Lisa didn't even give herself time to think about it, she just tipped her head back and downed it, concentrating on swallowing it down, even though her body was trying to get her to spit it back out.

...

Carla laced her fingers with Lisa's, as she guided them both towards the dancefloor.

Lisa felt her head spinning as she let Carla weave them through the crowd. The heady feeling she felt, was deffinately contributed too by the two shots of tequila she had just had, but mostly, she knew it was because she was here, with Carla, as her date.
She was the one the brunette had chosen. She was the one that would soon get to enjoy the feeling if her body pressed against her own, knowing that the heat between them would soon be radiating out into the room.

...

Carla turned, her eyes dark, as she placed her hands on Lisa's hips, pulling the blonde towards her.

Lisa ran her fingertips up the outside of Carla's arms, grazing her soft skin delicately, before she brought to rest at the back of her neck.

Their foreheads rested together, as their hips ground into one another.
Lisa let her fingertips caress the skin at the base of Carla's neck, as she manouvered one of her legs so that she was now practically straddling the brunette's left thigh.
Even though the music was loud, Lisa could still make out the strangled whine that left Carla's throat, as she pressed her thigh with intent against where she knew would send shivers of pleasure through the brunette's entire body.
Lisa then lowered her head, burying her face against the brunette's neck, as she gently nipped, sucked and licked at the delicate skin, just below her ear.

Lisa smiled into Carla's neck, as she felt her instinctively grind down on her thigh, as she let slip another whine of pleasure.

Lisa slowly pulled her head away from Carla's neck, letting her lips linger, just ever so slightly parted, less than a centimetre from Carla's lips, as she locked eyes with her.

They both felt the delicious, simmering sexual tension throbbing between them, as Lisa captured Carla's lips in a bruising kiss. They both felt each other moan into it, tongues colliding messily and hungrily, as they massaged one another.
This kiss wasn't delicate or soft, it was heated and passionate.

Their bodies moved as one, both of them lost in this moment with one another. It felt like it was just them and the music. Everybody and everything else had blurred into the background, leaving just the two of them, completely lost in eachother.

"Is this a private party, or can anyone join in?"

The gruff voice in her ear, pulled Carla back to reality and she pulled away from Lisa's lips, suddenly feeling a pair of hands on her hips and a body pressed firmly up against her back.

Lisa felt the same, as the man's friend came up behind her, placing his hands on her waist.

"It WAS a private party!" Carla growled, as she manouvered her body out of the man's grip.

"Aww, come on, don't be like that...have a dance with me..."

Carla took a hold of Lisa's hand, as the blonde shifted uncomfortably under the man's friends touch.
Carla turned to the man who had stood behind her, and she felt repulsed, as he licked his lips, his eyes scanning her up and down.

"Dance with you!?...Not even in your wildest dreams!"

She pulled the blonde forcefully away from the two men, not even willing to give them the satisfaction of looking back.

...

"You sure I can't drag you back to mine?..." Carla breathed, as she leaned back in, capturing Lisa's lips in another seering kiss.

They had walked back from the club, hand in hand, stopping every so often, the desire to feel one another's lips on their own overwhelming.

Carla had walked Lisa back to her Hotel, and now had her pressed up against the wall.

"Carla..."

"Or, you know, you could just take me up to your room instead...?" She smirked against the soft skin of Lisa's neck, the blonde moaning softly as her lips sucked gently.

"Carla..." Lisa protested again, a little firmer than before, placing her hand on the brunette's chest and pushing her gently back.

Lisa stared into the brunette's eyes "You have no idea how much I want to take you to bed right now Carla..." she said, placing a gentle kiss to her lips "...But I want you to be sure your making the right decision. When we go to bed, I don't want it to be because of some drink fuelled lust. I really, really like you, Carla...and I don't want to mess this up by rushing it...however much I want you...and however much I know I'm going to kick myself for this in the morning..."

Carla studied Lisa, a deep, unreadable look now held in her eyes. She stayed quiet for what felt like an eternity, before her expression softened, her hand reaching up to cup Lisa's cheek.

"You know, by now...every man I've ever been with, would be dragging me to bed right now..." she smiled, warmly, her eyes glistening "but you...your the first person to ever think about ME, put my needs and feelings above your own, above your desires...your a very special woman, Lisa, you know that."

Lisa smiled, as the brunette leaned in, placing a tender kiss to her lips.

"...I can wait to be with you, Lisa. But, just so you know...I would have gone to bed with you...and I wouldn't have regretted it in the morning...not even for a second"...

Shorter, little infill chapter for you all. Next post will either be Thurs or Fri eve hopefully.x

The last few days had felt like a slow torture for Lisa. She had seen Carla once in the time since they had parted ways, but that was only for half an hour on her break at work.

Lisa had sat on the sand, in between the brunette's legs, her arms wrapped around her, as she had leaned back against her chest.

They had sat, watching the waves roll in and out over the shoreline, stealing tender kisses every so often, nuzzling into one another affectionately.

...

As Lisa sat out on her balcony that evening, book in one hand and glass of wine in the other, she heard her phone ping on the table beside her.

She turned her book over, resting it on her thigh, before she picked up her phone, smiling to see a message from Carla.

"Hi beautiful. So, I've managed to swap a couple of shifts around and...I was hoping that you would come away with me for a night?x"

Lisa felt her heart flutter, a warmth radiating through her veins as a smile spread across her face.

"You don't even have to ask, Carla...of course I'll go with you... x"

"Pack enough for a couple of days and a night. I'll be in a taxi outside your Hotel at 10 tomorrow morning.x"

...

Lisa had tossed and turned all night, unable to properly fall into a deep slumber. Her thoughts were consumed with getting to spend the next 48hrs with Carla.

She didn't care where they were going or what they were doing, aslong as they were together.

She hadnt realised just how attached she had become to to the brunette, until she had to spend the last few days without her, save for a half hour reprieve on the other woman's break.

...

Lisa had made sure she packed a large tote bag with an evening outfit and shoes, attire for the following day and swimming stuff.

She added a few extra bits she may possibly need, before making her way down to the lobby.

She let a member of staff know that she wouldn't be there for the next couple of days, then headed out front to wait for Carla.

...

After a couple of minutes, a taxi pulled up Infront of her and she hopped in the back.

Before she had a chance to speak or even put on her belt, Carla leaned over and took her lips in her own, placing a lingering kiss upon Lisa's.

"I've missed being able to do that..." Carla smiled warmly, as she leaned back so that Lisa could pop her belt on.

"I've missed you doing that" Lisa grinned, biting her bottom lip, as she reached her hand across the middle of the seat, taking hold of the brunette's and entwining their fingers together.

"Sooo...you still haven't told me where we're going?" Lisa spoke quietly, awaiting an answer.

"It's not too far. There's this lovely little resort northeast of the Island, Cala San Vicente. I went once, back when I first came here, a little bit of exploration ya know. Anyway, it's a lovely little part of Ibiza...gorgeous long beach...and cliff tops looking out over the water. Apparently it's perfect for a sunset picnic. I know it's not much different to San Antonio but..."...

"It sounds perfect" Lisa cut in before Carla could finish her sentence. She smiled affectionately"Besides...I could be anywhere with you...and it would still be perfect..."

...

"This is gorgeous!" Lisa stated, as she placed her bag down onto the table in the living area.

Carla had managed to book them a last minute stay in a newly refurbished villa, right on the edge of the beach.

The view was breathtaking...sandy beach, blue waters and clifftops...like something from a postcard.

Carla came up behind Lisa, wrapping her arms around the blondes waist and resting her chin on her shoulder "Mhmmm...it's very... picturesque" the brunette dropped her voice to a quiet whisper "although...I happen to find the view right Infront of me, the most gorgeous view of all..." she nuzzled into the side of Lisa's neck, placing a delicate kiss to the crook of her neck.

Lisa turned in Carla's arms, wrapping her arms around her neck.
She smiled warmly, gazing into her eyes "Thankyou, for this..."

Carla leaned in, taking the blondes lips in her own, barely able to hold on a second longer, before her tongue found Lisa's.
A soft moan escaped them both, as they gave into the mix of want and need that had built up inside them over the past few days.

They both longed for more, longed to fully give in to their desire for one another. They knew that they wouldn't be able to hold out much longer, neither did they want too...because the heat that was simmering between them, the sexual tension that had built almost to a crescendo...was becoming unbearable...
