Chapter Text
Scar wandered aimlessly as tiny droplets of rain started to fall from the darkened sky.
'Great.' He rolled his eyes. He didn't know where he was, only that he was far, far away from the kingdom that should have been his.
With his dreams of becoming King ripped away from him, he had no other goal, no purpose.
He'd tried to take his rage out on the Hyenas for failing him, but those pests had turned against him.
Scar growled, stomping on the ground with a paw. He was supposed to be King, damn it! That was his destiny! How dare they take that away from him!? His stupid Brother and his naive, foolish son.
After even the Hyenas had betrayed him, he was left with no other choice than to simply do as he was told; Leave. Leave and never come back.
The wind picked up speed, rushing past him and messing up his mane.
He needed to find shelter before the weather became worse- there was no way he was going to keep walking through the rain, especially when he didn't even know where he was going.
There in the distance, Scar observed- "A Cave!" He huffed in relief, then started to move towards it.
Thunder roared and Lightning flashed; Scar was soaked in the rain and shivering by the time he got to the cave.
'Could this get any worse?' Scar sneezd.
Apparently, yes.
"Hello?" A voice came from inside the cave. "Is anyone- Oh!" Scar turned to find a Lion with a very light coat and an even lighter mane standing there.
"Hi there?" The Lion said, and Scar remained silently observing for a moment before deciding to speak, albeit cautiously. "...Hello." He drawled, reluctant to answer.
He hadn't realised that there was someone else here, most likely due to the fact that he was exhausted from all the walking. He didn't remember when he last ate- was it 3 days ago or 4?-
"Are you lost?" The other Lion pulled Scar out of his thoughts. "...Sort of." Scar eyed him warily. "Is this cave..Yours?" The other Lion shook his head. "I got here last night; not really an ideal place for a long-time stay, there's no food or water close by, at least not that I know of." Scar simply nodded.
"Then I suppose I'll be staying here till the rain passes." Scar informed and looked away. "Oh, Alright." The fair-maned Lion came to sit down near- but not too close to- Scar.
The former prince of Pride Rock discretely glared at him in response.
"I'm actually sort of lost, too." He seemed to be quite talkative, Scar noted. "Hey, are you alright? Youre shivering." Scar gritt his teeth and replied with as much politeness as he could muster. "I'm...Fine." The other Lion didn't seem to believe that, but he didn't push it.
Scar was left with the the silence he wanted for a few minutes before the other Lion spoke again. "I'm Skye, What's your name?" Scar controlled the urge to yell at him. The former prince reminded himself that he was in no condition for a fight, should it come to that.
"Scar." He curled up and closed his eyes. "I am trying to get some rest now. Do you mind?"
"Oh. I see- good night then." The other Lion- Skye, was it?- seemed to finally back off. Scar could really use some warmth right now, but he supposed beggars cant be choosers. The cold only served to fuel the resentment in his heart.
Notes:
This is such a self indulgent fic, I honestly dont think anyone's gonna read this- but I'm going to pretend anyways-

Notes:
This is basically my bedtime story. Except instead of reading it before bed, I'm writing.

Scar kept shivering, unable to sleep due to the cold. The cave was very small; with two full grown lions in there, barely any space was left for him to move away from the freezing air that roared in the rain.
He sneezed, cursing his brother for exiling him. "You okay there?" The other Lion- Skye- spoke up. "What does it look like?" Scar grumbled.
"You're cold. If you stay where you are, you'll get sick." Scar gave him a glare. "I know." He sneezed. "But there's nowhere else to go." He curled up tighter, hoping to fight the shivers.
Skye frowned. "Well, you could..." He stood up. "I'm cold too, although not as much as you." He moved closer to Scar. "We can both get warmer if we huddle together." Skye looked expectantly at Scar.
Swallowing his pride, Scar nodded weakly. "Fine." Skye gave a small reassuring smile and laid down next to Scar. "Here, come closer. I don't mind." Scar looked away, but did move closer.
Skye was dry, unlike Scar; so Scar could immediately feel the warmth radiating from him.
The former prince's eyes drooped and he yawned; he really was exhausted. Then, he drifted off to sleep.

By the time Scar woke up, the rain had already stopped. "You're awake." Skye stated, cracking one eye open but not making any moves to get up or move away.
Scar grunted, shifting a little. "How long have you been awake?" He asked, narrowing his eyes at Skye; who shrugged casually. "Not long."
Scar then stood up, leaving behind the warmth of Skye's fur. He opened his mouth, but didn't know what to say. He observed that Skye was bigger than him, with a strong build that indicated that he had been favoured by the gene pool. Scar scowled.
"Where...are you...from?" Scar asked, trying to sound as polite as he could. If he could " befriend " this lion, he could use him to his own advantage.
"A mountain in the north, I guess. My Pride is small, and we- they usually don't stay in one place for long." Scar hummed with a nod. "It hasn't been long since you left them, has it?" Scar asked, to keep the conversation going.
Skye shook his head slowly, looking down. "Not really, no. I think it's been...around a week." Scar sat back down. "I see," He tilted the other lion's chin up with a paw so they could be eye-to-eye. "It's the same for me." He retracted his paw.
"Why don't we stick together? It'd save us a lot of trouble." Scar spoke in a sickly sweet tone. He had a hunch that Skye had approached him out of lonliness from the way he spoke about his old Pride.
"We could keep eachother company. I'm sure you're well aware of how utterly miserable wandering like this can be, especially when you're all alone." Skye blinked at him, swallowing. "I..." He looked away from Scar.
"You're sure?" He looked back to the former prince of pride rock, hesitant. Scar smiled at him, internally smirking.
"Of course. After all, you did help me stay warm last night. It would've been so very awful to have laid in the cold and gotten sick. As you said, there's no food or water nearby, so who knows what my fate could have been?" He tried to come off as sentimental and overly greatful. This has to work.
Skye simply looked at him for a moment, then bowed his head. "Alright." He looked back up at Scar with a small smile. "I'd like that." He sat up from where he laid. Scar's smile widened
It worked.
