Chapter Text

Sonic glared up at the looming presence of Eggman from inside the mechanical tube. He had been hitting it as hard as he could, but it wouldn’t budge. Eggman just laughed in his face. “There’s no getting out of this you meddling hedgehog! It’s the end of the road for you, Little Planet, and soon all of Mobius!”

Sonic didn’t bother with any retort, still running, trying to find a weak point he could hit. Panic began to settle deep in his stomach, but he couldn’t give up..! What if the doctor went after Amy, or Chaos forbid Tails.. “As fun as it is watching you struggle in there, I’ve been patient and I am ready to see all my hard work pay off!” Eggman grinned darkly as he pressed a button on his console.

Sonic’s feet began to feel cold and stiff, a tingling sensation ebbing away into nothing. Then the feeling spread up his legs, then to his tail, and torso, and then his quills.. He couldn’t stop it, why couldn’t he stop it?! He always won against Eggman, so why can’t he escape?! He tried to move, run, get out, do something to get free! He couldn’t, and for once, Sonic was terrified of what Eggman was doing to him.

The cold, numbing feeling spread up to his hands and arms, and Sonic’s face and ears shook as it began to spread to his head.. He was going to die here, wasn’t he? “お前は決して本当の勝利を掴めない。たとえ俺じゃなくても、誰かが必ずお前を止める。” He declared as the cold finally spread to the last of him, and everything faded away into nothing.

The first thing Metal Sonic heard when he was first powered on, was his creator’s victorious laughter. And a declaration that Metal was his creator’s greatest weapon. It did not have a mouth or voice box, but it needed neither to convey its pride and loyalty.

Primary Directive: Become the one Superior Sonic.

Secondary Directive: Serve the Eggman Empire

Third Directive: do not fail do not fail do not fail

Amy breathed out a breathy sigh of relief, grip on her hammer tight as she tries to not look as scared as she felt. She had to be strong for the twin-tailed fox, after all, he’d already lost his brother to that monster Eggman. She had at least try to keep some small amount of hope alive, right? It’s what Sonic would want her to do. She placed down her hammer onto a nearby wall, and knelt down to Tails’ level.

Tails squeezed Amy’s hand tightly as he buried himself into her quills just like he used to with him.. The hedgehog almost immediately moved to hold the fox kit, grip gentle, but trembling slightly. Amy gives Tails a (hopefully) reassuring smile. “I’m sure that Eggman was just trying to trick us, I’m sure Sonic’s gonna show up and save Little Planet and the world any second now, just like with your adventure with him!”

Guilt nearly choked Amy out as she hit the robot Sonic squarely in the head, but she couldn’t let him get to Tails. She knew the guilt she was experiencing would be nothing compared to if Sonic ever knew he hurt his brother.

The younger nodded despite the tears, even with the logical part of his mind telling him that Eggman would do anything BUT lie about finally stopping Sonic once and for all.. Tails’ body still shakes as he remembers seeing the robot that was once his friend, his brother, go against everything he once stood up for..

“You ready to get moving again Tails..?” Amy hesitantly asked, moving away from their hug to over the fox a hand up. The kit nodded, giving a grateful look to the hedgehog. “Yeah, thanks Amy.” She smiles at that, and the duo walk out of the mechanized ruins of what was once Quartz Quadrant, ready to try and save Little Planet and their friend from Eggman.
