Unwilling Mole

Summary:

Tim Really didn't expect to find a Lazarus portal in a ghost town. Much less the aftermath of Mad scientists throwing him in it, to retrieve their son.

Chapter 1: Ah fuck I got kidnapped again.

Chapter Text

Tim woke up to not only with a headache, but also to the excited talking of people. He noticed that he was tired up to a chair. Oh great he has gotten himself kidnapped again. He wondered who the obnoxiously loud kidnappers were.

"Jazzy pants I tell you this will work we will get him back in no time" The guy in a orange jumpsuit with seems to be out of rubber explained.

"You don't know what the fuck you are dealing with Dad! Just let me get him back please" The guys daughter pleaded worriedly. While she was also chained to a chair.

"No jazz, we can't let the spooks take you as well" A woman in a teal rubber jumpsuit denied instantly.

"I told you multiple times that he is Phantom! And you still did it" Jazz hissed venomously.

"And you were wrong sweety. If you hadn't interfered you would have seen it to" She countered.

What fucking shit show had Tim been dragged to this time? He remembered that he was supposed to be on a business trip in Illinois, because of Wayne Enterprise and well he noticed this supposedly ghost town. Tim got curious about it and was immediately knocked out not even a few steps into town.

Lucky they didn't really remove anything from his person. So he still pressed his panic button. In hopes the others would notice in time.

"You never fucking listen when it matters!" Jazz exclaimed trying and failing to fight her way out of her chains.

The woman sighed. "I guess the last antidote didn't work"

"I am not fucking sick, you are sick fucks. Who don't admitted that they are wrong. Because you are to scared of the truth!" Jazz started to cry.

"Jazzy it's all going to be fine" The guy tried to placate her.

"Like hell it will, I will probably just die too from your twist sense of science" Jazz scoffed.

"Oh the boy is awake! I am terribly sorry you had to see her like this. You see normally she is confident and strong" the woman smiled at him sheepishly.

"But then that bastardly spook Phantom came along and infected her with ghost lies" The guy explained proudly.

Jazz was now laughing deranged in the background.

"So you don't know who I am?" Tim inquired.

"Oh maybe we should introduce ourselves" the guy exclaimed excitedly. "My name is Jack Fenton. Professional ghost hunter and ecto scientist" He grinned beamingly.

The woman shook her head fondly before following her husband's example. "I am Maddie Fenton. Professional ghost hunter and ecto scientist"

"Ehm..." They definitely had screw's loose. Tim thought.

"Don't give them shit!" Jazz shouted.

"Jazmine we talked about this" Maddie reprimanded.

"And I would rather die then let you guys kill some other poor kid!" Jazz declared determinedly. Before she suddenly started coughing up blood and spit in on the floor.

Yeah definitely not the greatest situation that he is in. Especially in his civilian identity, but well they said they didn't know him. So there was no reason to play damsel in distress anymore. He just needed there attention of off him again.

"Jazzy I know you want your brother back just as much we do. So you need to let use bring him back properly" Jack explained softly.

"Ugh. I should have listened to Danny and killed you myself when I had the chance" Jazz huffed.

"That was Phantom, Danny would never tell his sister to kill his own parents" Maddie explained as if this had been a repeating argument they had.

"How often do I need to repeat myself? Danny and Phantom are the same fucking person! And yeah he would have never tell me to kill you. But Ancients he should have. You never deserved his love"

"Boy, you can't leave just yet" Jack addressed him. While he was almost completely done cutting though his ropes.

Tim tensed immediately. "What do you even want from me?"

"Oh you are going to be our mole" Maddie declared determinedly.

"And why would I do that?" Tim questioned bewildered.

"Well you don't want to be corrupted by ghosts do you?" Maddie explained.

"You are the one who are corrupted!" Jazz declared sternly.

"Maddie Maddie the Fenton Ghost bane is done!" Jack called out excitedly. As he came back from a random side table, with a vial of something.

Tim almost mistook it for blood if it wasn't for the glow it was giving of.

"What's that?" Tim questioned a bit alarmed.

"Fenton Ghost bane will keep you ghost sane and makes sure you won't get impersonated" Jack explains excitedly.

"I am not drinking that" Tim stated cutting the last part of his ropes.

"Good choice!" Jazz approved.

It made both parents frowned in displeasure.

"But it's good for you own health" Jack pouted.

"Bullshit!" Jazz called out causing her to cough again.

As soon as the Fenton's came in range Tim jumped out of the chair and hit the vial out of their hands. He got a good punch on the father. Since he doesn't seem to have any fighting skills what so ever. Before being kicked in his stomach by his wife.

Tim recovered quickly and was about to attack again when he was slammed into a control panel by Maddie.

"That's not how you should treat your allies" Maddie scolded.

That's when he seen it a vertical Lazarus pit in the wall. Which just now opened. It was in a constant swelling motion, never dripping like it's supposed to do.

Jack smirked when he noticed Tim's interest. "That's the Fenton portal. We built it ourselves!"

Chapter 2: The scientists need to be stopped.

Chapter Text

Tim gulped. How the fuck did none of them hear of that before hand!? He kicked Maddie. Which gave him enough time to dash towards the stairs. Only to be shot at right in his ribs and it fucking burns. What the fuck were they shooting at him!?

Jack smirked "Did you see that Maddie I didn't miss this time!"

"Good job, grab him for me will you?" Maddie requested.

Tim now noticed all the weapons laying around and other inventions. He grabbed himself a bat and dodged the next shots with ease. As Jack came closer to him still brightly smiling.

Jazz tried to throw something of a nearby side table with her unchained legs. While Maddie picked up the remains of the Fenton Ghost bane.

"I know ghosts can be scary, but you are our only hope" Jack explained.

Tim scoffed and swang the bat at the guy. That's when Maddie shot his hand. Making Jack easily yank the weapon out of his hands. He grabbed some other random invention and smashed it over the guys head. Jack dropped the bat in surprise.

The device that looked kind of like a microwave started to beep and opened on its own. Then suddenly molded chicken wings jumped out and also started to attack.

"Since when did we have chicken wings down here???" Maddie inquired. Before shooting all of them.

"Since the last two months" Jazz stated annoyed.

Jack tried to grab him, but he ducked and grabbed the discarded Bat once more. Diving underneath Jack in the process. As Maddie came closer. Not enough to be in swinging distance though. Tim finally hit Jack unconscious. Before being once again shot at by Maddie.

"You don't know who your enemy is Boy. We are nothing in comparison to those vile creatures" Maddie explained very annoyed.

"Hah ghosts don't exist Lady" Tim responded dodging towards the stairs.

That's when something crashed and a mist took over the room. Giving Tim the chance to leave. Running up to stairs revealed a locked metal door.

"Jazz! What did you do!?" Maddie called out enraged.

The door could only be opened with a DNA scanner. God how Tim wish he had his gadgets right now. It would take a bit longer to hack it with his phone then he would like, but it's better than nothing. The problem was he heard Maddie's foot steps coming closer.

"Kid, you fighting against the wrong people" Maddie stated.

Tim cursed at how close she was and concluded he didn't have enough time. He took his phone back dodged her and got back into the basement. He needed Jazz's help.

Lucky the sound of her coughing alerted him to where in the fog she was. Tim tried to hold his breath as to not breath in any of the mist. You never know what kind of poison it could be. As he made his way towards her he tripped on some random cables laying around, before he could finally see her outline.

She nodded at him silently and gave him access to her chains. He took out his to go screwdriver and started to free her.

"Boy?" Maddie called out before sighing.

Then when he was halfway done there was a sucking sound like from a vacuum cleaner and the mist slowly but surely got sucked away. Jazz hid Tim behind her chair. Which Tim was thankful for.

"Hmmm where could you be hiding" Maddie mused. As she started to look though cupboards of all things.

"Jazz, dear have you seen him anywhere?" Maddie questioned.

"Maybe he left though the portal" She shrugged unhelpfully.

"Darn it, I will get the Specter speedster ready. He can't have gotten far just yet" Maddie complained. As she stepped into a machine that almost looked like a car without tires.

"It won't keep her distracted long. So you need to hurry up" Jazz whispered to him.

"Understood" Tim replied before continuing to free her from her chains.

"Sorry you had to get caught up in all of this. I don't really know where they got the idea from. Been down here for a while now" She apologized.

"We are going to get out of here don't worry" Tim reassured her.

That caused Jazz to start sobbing again. "They are going to destroy the whole world with there delusions. I- I can't just let that happen"

"What's there plan?" Tim inquired sternly.

Jazz chuckled deliriously. "After they get Danny back, they plan to destroy the whole ghost zone. As some petty revenge. Which would disable the whole universe"

Tim widened his eyes. That doesn't sound good at all.

"How do you plan to stop them?" Tim questioned worriedly.

"They need to die, you can't reason with them. My theory is the ectoplasm in there system got so in tangled with there ghost hunting obsession. That nothing could change there mind and Ancients I have tried so many times" Jazz sobbed again.

"Ectoplasm?" Tim asked.

"It's what ghosts are made of" She smiled sheepishly.

Tim nodded. "Come on" Tim help her to her feet and they started to make there way towards the stairs.

That's when Maddie spotted them. "What do you think you are doing Mister?"

Chapter 3: Bye bye Living Realm

Chapter Text

Jazz grabbed the nearby Jack o' 9 tails and shot at her Mom shakely. Which Maddie dodged easily and got closer towards them.

"Oh no no no, sweetheart you can't leave just yet, both of you" Maddie stated, she grabbed a different gun from a countertop and shot it at them.

"Fuck!" Jazz hissed. As a glowing green net encased both of them.

Why the fuck did they have so many glowing green things? Tim thought annoyed as he watched Maddie come towards them smugly. The net was very tight around them. Which gave them no room to move. So when Maddie took out a syringe with the rest of the Fenton Ghost bane in it. Tim couldn't get away from it being injected into him.

Jazz coughs again and glared at Maddie in defiance.

Maddie grinned back. "So since that is taken care of we should move on to the next steps don't you think Jack?"

In that exact moment Jack groaned and woke up from unconscious. He stood up and came to Maddie's side and immediately started beaming in excitement as if being hit unconscious was nothing. The guy didn't even seem mad at Tim.

"Sorry, Madds some spook got the jump on me" Jack explained sheepishly. "Why is the boy snuggling with Jazz?"

"He tried to take her away from us" Maddie hissed.

That made Jack pause and his smile disappeared for a moment. "How would you feel if they took all your children away, boy?" He asked coldly.

Tim hated how much Jack reminded him of Bruce in that moment. "I don't have children"

"He wasn't stolen from you. He was rescued from you" Jazz corrected venomously.

"Jazzy" Jack said pleadingly.

"I should have never reminded the two of you to eat" Jazz hissed.

Maddie rasped her throat. "For the last time Danny was kidnapped"

Jazz rolled her eyes. "Why do I still even try?"

"Actually that's why you here boy! To get our Danno out of the ghosts clutches!" Jacks booming voice explained.

The next whole hour was both of the parents making it very clear how Evil and dangerous the unfeeling scum known as ghosts are. Which what the fuck? How can something be unfeeling and evil at the same time? Tim took all of that information with a grain of salt and was just happy that it would give the others more time to find him.

Jazz whispers "Not all ghosts are evil, please don't let this nonsense cloud your mind"

Tim gave her a tiny nod.

Which made her smile in relief that at least someone believes her. Even if Tim was a stranger that had the unfortunate luck to be stuck with her in there basement.

When both Fentons were done ranting they took him out of the net and rechained Jazz to her chair. Jack had a firm grip on Tim as they locked what looked like a Clock to his wrist. Which dug into his skin as it locked up with tiny spikes keeping it in place. Tim hissed in pain.

"Find a boy that almost looks like you. Danny has Black hair and blue eyes" Maddie demanded sternly. As they walked dangerously close to the Portal.

"He should be easy to find. Since he is alive" Jack tried to reassure him.

"Remember the problem is the ghosts. We will stay in contact with you though The Fenton stopwatch" Maddie explained once more.

"Please just let me go" Tim pleaded.

"You got this my boy!" Jack declared before throwing him into the portal.

As soon as he entered his whole body started to ache. It felt like as if he was on fire. So Tim screamed out in pain as he was falling in this green void. Until he passed out from exhaustion.

The next time he woke up was surprisingly in a bed. It was quiet say for a strange humming. He felt that something was hocked up to his arm like an IV tube and when he opened his eyes he was in a room completely out of ice. The IV tube was letting blood flow into him.

Loud foot steps suddenly came closer to the room he was in. A huge yeti came into the room and seems to be relieved that Tim was awake.

"It's good to see you awake human" they greeted.

Tim was surprised that they spoke the same language.

"How are you feeling?" They inquired sitting down in front of the bed to seem not as intimidating.

"Ehm, better. What happened?" Tim questioned.

"Ah you had Blood blossoms in your system. Which is notoriously known to not mix well with the Zone. You are lucky that kitty and Johnny found you before it could do some serious damage" They explained.

"Oh did you get it out of my system?" Tim inquired worriedly. He would like to never feel that overwhelming pain ever again.

"Yes, though we had to use the Great One's blood for it. So we are unsure if you will have any side effects" They said apologetically.

"The Great One's blood?" Tim looked towards the IV bag worriedly.

"He insists on it, when you where found and anyone else's blood would have just made it worse" the yeti smiled sheepishly.

"So where exactly am I?" Tim asked looking around once more.

"You are currently in the far Frozen and as it's named after It's very cold for humans like yourself. So inform us if you wish to leave or if you need anything. It's not often we have a human around" He requested.

Tim nodded. "Can I take the IV tube out?"

The Yeti nodded in agreement. "You are taking this surprisingly well. Most humans are terrified of us"

Tim chuckled dryly. "Yeah this whole thing is definitely weird as shit, but I don't believe the bullshit those scientists told me"

"The Fenton's?" They asked after a moment of contemplation.

"Yeah, They kidnapped me and thrown me into their portal" Tim explained exasperatedly.

Chapter 4: They are dead

Chapter Text

Tim stared horrified at the sky. It wasn't blue or gray. It was green. He had at least hoped that the portal would just spit him out of a Lazarus pit or something. Not to be stuck in a completely other realm. How were the others supposed to find him now?

"Are you okay human? You have been staring at the Zone for a while now" The yeti that was looking after him inquired worriedly.

"Yeah I just couldn't believe I was in a completely other realm" Tim answered and noticed that he started to shiver even with the thick coat they gave him.

"The infinite Realms are truly very unfamiliar for any living being" The Yeti replied.

"What's your name?" Tim asked. There were so many yetis after all and most of them look almost completely the same to Tim.

"I am Snowflake" They smiled at him.

"Nice to meet you Snowflake. My name is Tim" Tim introduced himself as well.

There was a couple more minutes of Tim just scanning his surroundings, before they went back inside. This whole Yeti town was made out of ice. Which made since with how cold it was here. Some of them were playfully fighting with each other, with what looked like ice powers. Others were watching there fight.

Tim had even overheard some yetis use medical terminology with some different contexts. As if they were professional doctors. They were peaceful. Nothing like the Fenton's described. It gave Tim hope that he had at least a chance to find a way back home.

"So what exactly happens to me now?" Tim asked.

"We will do some more check ups, before the great one will bring you to a more substantial place" Snowflake explained.

Tim nodded in agreement.

"The Far Frozen is not made for humans like you to continue to live" Snowflake added.

"Can you tell me what kind of check ups we are talking about?" Tim inquired curiously.

"Probably just life signs and a core scan. Nothing to invasive" Snowflake explained.

"What's a core scan?" Tim questioned.

Snowflake blinked surprised that he didn't know. "You have the Great One's blood in you Tim. We need to make sure you do not turn into the same thing he is"

Tim narrows his eyes in confusion. "What is he?"

"That is confidential. So I am not allowed to give you this information without his permission" Snowflake stated calmly.

"Wait are you saying that I could potentially turn into a ghost? An ecto entity?" Tim asked bewildered.

"Everyone can, some just won't" Snowflake shrugged. "But yes you got the just of it"

"But I am still alive aren't I?" Tim checked his pulse and it felt completely normal.

"That's what we need to confirm" Snowflake replied.

"Ah good to see you awake" A new yeti entered the room and this one had one of his arms completely out of ice.

"Hello" Tim greeted still trying to rap his head around how an alive person could be a ghost.

"Did you scare him Snowflake?" The new yeti asked worriedly.

"I hope not, I only answered his questions" Snowflake explained.

The new yeti looked bewildered at Tim. "He didn't show any prior fear?"

"No Frostbite" They denied.

"That's not normal" Frostbite sounded worried.

"I eh I have witnessed alien invasions before" Tim butted in to somehow justify his behavior without just straight up telling them he was a Vigilante.

"What's an alien?" Snowflake asked curiously.

"It's people and creatures that live on other planets then earth" Tim explained.

"Ah, I remember the Great One ranting about that and how disappointed he was that he couldn't see it in person" Frostbite recounted.

"Are aliens really that fearful though?" Snowflake inquired curiously.

Frostbite shook his head. "I tested that theory once. Even livings with crazy life experiences do automatically fear anything dead"

"Then it must be a side effect" Snowflake observed.

Frostbite nodded.

"Wait so you guys are really dead?" Tim asked bewildered.

"Yes, we are" Frostbite agreed.

"But- You like- Don't look like it" Tim protested.

"Well have you ever seen an alive Yeti before?" Snowflake asked bemused.

"I- No..." Tim admitted uncomfortably.

"It's okay little one. I know death can be a painful subject for your kind, but do not worry about us because of it. We have been dead for centuries and millennia. We are used to it" Frostbite reassured him.

Tim's eyes widened in disbelief. They were dead... They were fucking dead. Was he going insane? Was he hallucinating?

Tim gulped. "Can- Can I check your pulse? Wait do Yetis even have a pulse!?"

Both Yeti's chuckled at his question's.

"I do believe that we had a pulse at one point" Snowflake mused. As she held out her frankly giant arm towards him. Her arm was as big as his waist afterall.

He still took the chance for what it was. Tim noticed Her fur was soft, but cold as he tried to find a blood vain. When he finally found it there was no pulse, but Snowflake still smiled at him fondly.

"See no pulse" Snowflake confirmed his observation.

"But you are still... Here" Tim grimaced at how mean that sounded.

"We are Ghosts little one" Frostbite explained coming back with a scanning device. Which he got from one of the side tables.

Tim tensed expecting to be shot at again, because of the Fenton's strange inventions.

"Don't worry little one it's just a core scanner" Frostbite reassured.

He nodded, but didn't lose the tension. So he was ready to dodge if necessary. The scanner washed over him with a blinding light, but nothing hit him.

The yeti's looked over the results.

"How strange" Snowflake commented.

"What does it say?" Tim questioned worriedly.

"It recognizes your whole body as a core" Frostbite responded.

"So I'm like a ghost now?" Tim inquired looking at both of them.

"Not really, I think your soul just completed fused with your body" Frostbite explained thoughtfully.

"What does this mean?" Tim asked.

"That you won't be able to leave it if you die" Snowflake explained.

"If he is able to die that is" Frostbite added.

"Wait What!?"

"We truly apologize that we don't know anything concrete. The Great One is a special case. Who, due to recent developments does not fancy exploring his biology" Frostbite apologized.

"So you are saying that I could be fucking immortal, because of his blood???? Who the fuck is this Great One???" Tim asked distressed.

Chapter 5: The young high King

Chapter Text

They checked his pulse, body temperature and breathing. Which were all normal. He finally got an answer to Who the Great One was and it baffled him. Why would the high King Phantom help him? He was just a random human, stuck in another realm. Someone in such a high position must have an agenda.

And if his blood really made Tim immortal. How could he ever repay that? Tim was completely baffled when another teenager came flying into the room. Even more so when he was greeted as the Great One.

"Ah Great One! As you can see he woke up" Frostbite gestures to Tim.

"Greetings Great One" Snowflake said fondly.

"Hey guys, that's great news" high King Phantom - who had snow white hair and green glowing green, but Seems to be glitching around his outlines - grinned.

"How are you doing?" Phantom addressed him.

"I am okay... Ehm better than when they first thrown me in" Tim replied a bit shyly.

Which why was he shy. He was never shy before. God Tim wanted to slap himself. This was the high King after all. So he needed to stand his ground instead of being a complete idiot.

"Who thrown you in the Realms?" Phantom asked worriedly.

"Great One-" Snowflake tried to interrupt, but was cut of.

"The Fentons" Tim answered immediately.

"How is Jazz? Have you seen her? Is- Is she okay?" Phantom questioned immediately.

"You know her? Wait are you Danny?" Tim asked wide eyed.

"Ah yeah, my name is Danny Phantom. What's your name?" He inquired calmly.

"Tim Drake Wayne, but call me Tim" Tim introduced himself.

"Sorry about them they are just insane" Phantom apologized sheepishly.

"Phantom, do not defend the enemy" Frostbite said sternly.

Phantom gulped and nodded. "It's best for you to get out of the cold. So come on"

Tim took the hand Phantom offered and suddenly he was picked up princess style. He flew out of the ice house and into the green sky. Which also turned into a void below them. The temperature changed was immediate. So the coat he still had on was to hot. There was also no wind resistance.

"So how is Jazz?" Danny asked more softly this time.

"Alive, but her parents keep her locked in there basement and give her antidotes to get the ghost lies out of her" Tim reported.

Danny grimaced. "I should get her out of there, before they try something worse"

They floated for a while. There were multiple floating doors and islands, but Danny didn't pay them any mind. Instead they landed on a island with a grim looking Palace.

"Sorry for all this spookiness, I haven't figured out how to change haunts" Danny apologized sheepishly while putting Tim back on his own feet.

Tim nodded, before asking. "Is there a way to get back home?"

"Ah yes there is. Though I do not recommend returning" Danny commented.

"Why not?" Tim questioned worriedly.

"There a high chance that you would be feared and hunted just for existing" Danny explained.

"Then why safe me at all? What do you want form me?" Tim asked.

Danny was silent for a moment. "The blood blossoms could have erased your soul entirely"

That is concerning. Tim's eyes widened.

"I just couldn't let you stop existing" Danny admitted shamefully. "How much of it have you seen in the basement?"

Tim opened his mouth and closed it multiple times. "They only had a vail of what they called Fenton Ghost bane, but they only got half of it into my system. Since the rest landed on the floor"

"What is it supposed to do?" Danny asked.

"It's supposed to keep you ghost sane and stop impersonation" Tim recounted.

Which made Danny chuckle deranged. When they reached the front door of the Palace Danny collapsed sobbing in front of it. Which made many other ghosts look in there direction. They snarled and hissed as they came closer.

"Danny! Hey what's wrong?" Tim crouched down and took one of his hands.

Which made Danny flig himself into Tim's arm and cling to him. The Ghosts around them stop abruptly and went back to there own tasks. Tim rubbed Danny's back, unsure of what he did wrong.

"Oh my, what happened now?" A noble dressed ghost lady questioned softly.

"Ehm I answered a question about the Fenton's" Tim replied confused.

"Ah, as much as he acts like there betrayal didn't face him. It is quite a sensitive topic" She explained. "Would you be so kind and pick the young high King up and follow me?"

Danny was still whimpering and shaking in his arms.

"Is that okay with you?" Tim asked Danny.

In response he just clung tighter on to Tim. Tim took that as agreement and picked the surprisingly light boy up.

"Is he normally like this?" Tim questions as he followed the lady.

"When it comes to his parents, yes. They were always a problem he refused to acknowledge" She smiled sadly.

His parents. The Fenton's were his parents!? Ah fuck how the hell did he forget that? Was that another side effect of Danny's blood? Or was that the atmosphere he was currently in? No wonder he reacted like that.

"And now he can't even face them on his own anymore" she added.

"Because they turned him into something that isn't a human or a ghost right?" Tim clarified.

"I will not make the young high King more distressed by retelling his pain" the lady stated firmly.

"Yes, my apologies" Tim nodded in understanding.

Chapter 6: Living Warmth

Chapter Text

They reached a large bedroom that had star decorative all over it.

"Now I must request that you stay with him until he lets go of you on his own turns. It is the least you could do since you caused the current predicament" The ghost lady explained.

"Ah yeah sure" Tim agreed easily.

"Good good, we can not afford him becoming a tyrant after all" She commented as she left.

Tim looked at Danny and wonder how someone as weak as him could be a tyrant. Having special blood doesn't really make you strong after all. He tried to put Danny onto his own bed, but just as the Lady said Danny didn't let go of him.

"Don't leave" Danny pleaded in a weak voice.

"I won't, sorry to cause you so much distress. I was a bit out of it after being almost erased and all that" Tim explained sheepishly. As a way to cheer Danny up.

"So you aren't mad about being saved anymore?" Danny questioned.

"I never was mad at you for saving me" Tim stated carefully. Why would Danny assume he was mad about that? Only a complete asshole would be mad about something like that.

"Oh... How- how is it out there? In the living realm?" Danny inquired hesitantly.

"Aren't you from there to? Jazz is your sister" Tim asked in return.

"I- I can't leave anymore..." Danny admitted sadly.

"Why? if you don't mind me asking" Tim questioned worriedly.

Danny was silent for a moment. "If I do war would break loose. The ghosts are already grumpy enough about what happened. So they won't let me leave"

"What happened? I just recently came to Amity Park to be like a tourist and your parents... kinda kidnapped me" Tim explained softly.

Apparently that was the wrong thing to ask, because Danny started crying once more. Hugging him more tightly. Which was strange. Because normally people would recoil from a question they are uncomfortable with. Especially from the person who asked said question.

He could feel Danny's nails digging into him. As he petted his back in hopes of comforting him. So they could continue there conversation.

"I shouldn't have asked that, sorry" Tim apologized. "But I want to repay your kindness somehow"

"What?" Danny questioned bewildered while still sniffing.

"Well you saved me didn't you? How can I thank you for that?" Tim inquired.

Danny looked wide eyed at him, as if he didn't understand in the concept. "Why? Why would you thank me?"

Tim narrowed his eyes in confusion. "I ehm value my life and that includes my soul being intact. So..."

"It's- It's fine really..." Danny hid his face in his shoulder.

"But it's your blood" Tim countered softly.

"Don't worry about that, I regenerate fast" Danny smiled sheepishly into Tim's shoulder.

They stayed like this for awhile. Just the two of them hugging on Danny's bed. Because frankly interrogating Danny right now was a bad Idea. So he just let the silence shimmer for a bit, observing Danny silently and suffering quietly because of his coat.

"I missed this..." Danny admitted.

"Missed what?" Tim inquired curiously.

"The warm embrace of a living person"

"Oh"

"Ghost hugs are always so cold" Danny complained.

"How long have you been stuck in this realm?" Tim questioned.

"Clockwork said for a year" Danny recounted.

"Clockwork?" Tim asked.

Danny nodded, before chuckling. "It would be terrible for the ancient of time itself to not know what time it is"

Tim's eyes widened. "Ancient of time?"

"Can you believe that he even banned me from time related missions" Danny huffed indignantly as he slowly let go of Tim.

"I sometimes really wonder if he is purposefully making me suffer more. He is such a cheesecake" Danny stated.

"What???" Tim asked confused.

Danny gasped. "Now I can prove it him that I am not scared of humans! And then he will let me back on missions!"

"Wait hold up. Why does a Ancient of Time send you on missions?" Tim asked.

"Mostly because someone messed something up and I blend more in then regular ghosts" Danny explained.

"But you are still like.. glitching?" Tim gestures to Danny.

"What?" Danny looked down at himself. "Where????"

"Like your outlines" Tim touched the side of his arm expecting to feel something tingly, but it just felt like a regular arm.

Danny blinked down at himself. "Huh, that's new"

"It is?" Tim looked back up into Danny's eyes.

Danny shrugged. "I am just weird like that"

"That's why the Yeti's didn't know if I would have side effects of your blood" Tim concluded.

Danny grimaced. "Sorry about that... I am not a fan of medical things"

"But they could benefit you. It's always good to know as much as possible about one's own body. So that you could use it properly" Tim reasoned.

"No and if you continue this topic I will stop caring for you" Danny immediately shut down.

"Ah sorry..." Tim looked away shamefully.

He felt like his restraints are broken. Or he just fell strangely younger. As if everything he had learned about speaking with tact was a scrambled mess. Tim should talk with more respect. Danny was still a king after all. He wasn't one of his siblings that he could annoy until they almost kill him again.

Why the fuck was he fine with that!? He never thought so nonchalant about the killing attempts. God he really wished he knew more about where he was. Then he could determine if his scrambled mind was because of Danny's blood or not.

"I don't need you to mentor me" Danny declared sternly.

Chapter 7: Knowledge can hurt

Chapter Text

"I don't need you to mentor me" Danny declared sternly.

"I wasn't trying to. I am sorry" Tim apologized.

"How about instead of mopping here in my bedroom I show you around the castle?" Danny offered sheepishly and got out of Tim's lap.

"Sure, but can I leave my coat in your room?" Tim inquired.

"Ah, yes of course. We don't want you to overheat" Danny agreed and walked over towards the door.

Tim took off his coat and noticed Danny's scratch marks on it. Danny didn't look at all as if his fingernails were sharp enough to ter through the fabric so easily. Maybe he was stronger than he looked. It would kind of explain why he is their king.

"So... I haven't changed much of the castle since it's previous owner. Which don't wake that guy or The Zone might freak out again" Danny warned as both of them started to walk in the hallway.

"The previous owner is sleeping?" Tim asked intrigued.

"Yup, he might not only try to kill me, but also start a war early. Which would be very bad since most of the ghosts still have grudges against living humans, especially in this time period" Danny grimaced.

"Yeah... Got it, where exactly is he sleeping? So I don't accidentally wake him up" Tim questioned worriedly.

"In the dungeon, it's a giant coffin you can't miss, but I think Pandora took the key. So you couldn't even open it if you wanted to" Danny explained.

"Pandora?" Tim inquired curiously.

"Jep, She is like this very friendly Greek ghost. As long as you don't touch her box, but that wouldn't be a problem, since you can't reach her island anyway" Danny reassured him.

"So the myth of Pandoras box is real?"

"Oh, yeah I think most myth exists here. Didn't really pay attention in english class though. Or was it history?" Danny shrugged.

"Anyway, do you want your own room? we got plenty of space. I actually only use like 7 rooms from the- Hey Maxima! Do you know how many rooms this castle has?" Danny asked a ghost maid.

"1206 rooms, your highness" Maxima smiled fondly at Danny.

"Thank you. Can you believe that I haven't explored half of the rooms here. Like I never expected to be suddenly royalty with a castle this giant" Danny marveled to Tim.

Tim chuckles amused. "Yeah, that must be wild"

"At first I was like you gotta be kidding me. A weirdo like me royalty? Who thought that was a good idea? I haven't even finished school and now I'm probably a drop out, because I can't attend anymore" Danny explained sadly.

"Ah, sorry got off topic, would you like to have a room?" Danny questioned and stopped in front of a door.

"Oh yes, that would be nice" Tim can now see why the ghosts were so protective of Danny. He is like a glowing sun in this eerie and dark castle.

Danny grinned and opened the door in front of them. "Then this is your room. Some ghost that apparently know you helped decorate it. I hope you like it"

Tim's eyes widened. It had everything a vigilante like him needed. Conspiracy boards, a computer setup, DNA analyzer, a tinkering area, minus the coffee machine. Though what surprised him even more, was that his first ever camera sat innocently on the coffee table.

"I was kind of jealous when I first seen it... You see the ghosts don't let me tinker in my bedroom" Danny complained.

Tim looked back at Danny a bit speechless. "I- how? No who set this up? Danny this- this is concerning"

"Ehmmm, it was a assassin named Pur, some bat guy named Thomas and a butler named Alfred." Danny answered.

"Wait What? How can Alfred... When he is still alive?" Tim asked bewildered.

"Maybe it was a different Alfred it's a common name you know" Danny offered and shrugged.

"Well was his full name Alfred-" Tim was interrupted by Danny's hand in front of his mouth.

"No full name's. Just let go. This realm is not meant for human understanding" Danny warned and stared at Tim sternly.

What's that supposed to mean? Thomas shouldn't exist anymore, he was from a different timeline that doesn't exist anymore. Pur made the most sense, since she died by the explosions he set of in Ra's assassins base's. But Alfred was alive. Tim seen him last family dinner. There was no way Alfred could be a ghost.

Or did he die after Tim left to Illinois? Tim didn't want to think of the implications and luckily was brought out of his thoughts by a sudden hug. Danny hugged him again and petted his back to comfort him.

"Please come back" Danny requested shyly.

Tim hugging him back. "What do you mean? I was never gone"

"Maybe you should use my room instead..." Danny stated worriedly.

"No, it's fine, really. Thank you, Danny" Tim reassured him.

Danny blushed in embarrassment and let go of Tim. He turned sharply towards the door, before looking back at Tim.

"Are you coming?" Danny questioned.

"Ah, yes!" Tim exclaimed and once more started to follow Danny.

They walked in silence for a while.

"Are you okay?" Tim asked concerned that he did something wrong.

"Huh, why wouldn't I be?" Danny inquired bewildered.

"you are just suddenly quiet" Tim explained.

Danny chuckled awkwardly. "You are just the first human that I have meet since a very long time... On one hand I want to tell you everything, about both me and the infinite Realms, but you are still human. So I don't want to hurt you with that knowledge"

"I can take it" Tim promised.

Danny smiled at him sadly. "No, you can't"

"You didn't even try" Tim huffed annoyed.

"Ghost child! Perfect timing! We finally figured it" Cook ghosts called out to them in excitement as they entered a kitchen.

"Really????" Danny shared their excitement as he flung himself over towards them.

They presented him with a burger of all things. Danny picked it up and bit into it. If the 4 ghosts could hold there breath they would have right now, with how tense they look to be. Danny's eyes lid up and he nodded. The ghosts cheered and celebrated there success. Then Danny glanced at him.

"Ah, this is Tim. He will start eating with me from now on. So you should make a Nasty Burger for him to" Danny gestures to Tim, after placing his burger down.

Chapter 8: Why are you scared?

Chapter Text

"A nasty burger?" Tim asked bewildered. The burger looked like a regular burger. Why would Danny eat it if it tasted nasty?

"Yep, it's recreated from this burger joint in Amity Park, called Nasty Burger. Even though the sauce is highly explosive in large quantities, it's the best. We- me and the cooks tried to recreate it over 7 months now" Danny grinned cheerfully.

"Hold up, What?" Tim questioned concerned.

"We finally succeeded" The lizard cook ghost chimes in proudly.

"What- What about the explosive part???" Tim inquired worriedly.

"Oh... Ups. I didn't mean to say that" Danny rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"But here try it" Danny held the bitten burger out to him.

The ghost look so excited, as Tim reluctantly accepted the burger. It tasted like a regular burger with a creamy paprika sauce, but with an unknown spice in the mix. Not really Tim's personal favorite, but it's better than starving if they didn't have anything else. He still was worried that the sauce was apparently explosive though.

"It's good, but is this the only thing edible here?" Tim smiled sheepishly.

The cook's cheered once more and high fived each other. Which they learn from Danny. Before going back to making a second burger.

"They can make anything as long as they have the recipe" Danny nodded proudly.

"Well as long as they don't make an edible bomb..." Tim grumbled.

"Awe, come on, it never really exploded here. Only in the restaurant which was... 2 and a half years ago. So you have nothing to worry about" Danny reassured him.

"How often have you eaten explosive stuff?" Tim asked still not convinced.

"Ehmmm almost every day back in Amity Park. I don't know if I can count the Ectoplasm that I accidentally dunk once... or twice" Danny mused.

"Phantom, I think you are disturbing your guest" The female cook ghost pointed out.

Danny looked at Tim and tilted his head.

"Eh no. I am completely fine" If they realize how concerned Tim truly was they might stop giving him information again.

"Why are you scared?" Danny question's suddenly.

Tim was completely caught off guard by the question. He wasn't scared. Well not in the traditional sense. He was scared of not getting important information about this new Realm he is apparently trapped in. Tim knew he could make it home if he had enough information of how.

"No one will hurt you here. I make sure of that. So why are you scared? Am I that scary to you?" Danny reasoned.

"No, it's not you. You are amazing for saving my life and being so kind, to let me stay at your place. Especially because you could have pushed me away, when I unknowingly hurt your feelings..." Tim complimented.

The cook's gasped at his admission. "You hurt Phantom's Feelings!?"

Danny rolled his eyes. "It's fine guys, he just talked about how he got here and I kinda freaked out. Nothing to worry about"

"I already apologized" Tim explained.

"Phantom-" The very thin cook ghost started but got cut off.

"Nope, I am not a ghost" Danny deadpanned.

"If Phantom is sure about it, we should trust him" The female cook ghost declared.

"Fine... But we will keep an eye on you" The very thin cook ghost glared at Tim.

"Just be happy that we got one more mouth to feed" the lizard cook ghost decided to lighten the mood.

"Oh! Oh! He might know what is healthy for a living!" The female cook ghost exclaimed.

Danny groaned. "Maybe later we are just taking a little bit of a break from showing him the rest of the castle"

"Hmmm, we shouldn't trust the living so easily" The very thin cook ghost stated, while deliberately sharpening his cooking knife.

Tim rolled his eyes at the clear threat to his life. The other ghosts chuckled as if he made a joke, but let both of them eat their burgers in peace. He looked at how Danny enjoyed each bite with pure contentment and smirked. Tim might be stuck here for the time being, but at least he had a cute roommate.

"Do ghosts have relationships?" Tim asked out of curiosity. It probably was a saver topic then talking about Danny's parents or a way to get out of here, when Danny himself couldn't leave.

"Huh?" Danny looked bewildered and took his eyes off of his burger.

"Well I heard this place has a bunch of ghosts and I just wondered..." Tim trails of acting nervously.

Danny blinked at him astonished. "I mean kinda... But it mostly only happens if they obsessions fit together or if they are obsessed with each other. So I don't think regular flirting would like work"

"Then how would you flirt with a ghost?" Tim inquired curiously.

"Hmmm, first you should... No you are to weak. Do not date ghost's. You don't want to be beaten to death by there bonding" Danny denied when he realized who he was talking to.

"What if prove you otherwise?" Tim questioned slyly.

Danny sighs. "Do I really need to get you a baby sitters?"

"No!?" Tim exclaimed annoyed.

"Good, than let me get you an advice. Ignore your hormones. You do not want to attract the weird love obsessed ghosts" Danny declared grimacing at the thought.

"Then what am I allowed to do?" Tim questioned.

"What do you mean?" Danny asked confused.

"Well your castle clearly has rules right?" Tim clarified.

"I mean as long as you don't interrupt the ghost obsessions or fights, you should be fine" Danny explained.

"Do you have an obsession?" Tim questioned curiously.

"Ummm, I actually don't know" Danny admitted sheepishly.

"It has been an argument for a while now. Some ghosts think it's protection. Other think it's engineering or like space because I wanted to be an astronaut when I was younger" Danny shrugged.

"No, his obsession is clearly junk food" The female cook interjected.

"See" Danny gestured towards the ghost in question. "It's an argument"

Tim hummed in acknowledgement and continued to eat the rest of his burger.

Chapter 9: Access?

Chapter Text

"This is the library. It doesn't have as many books as the actual archives or for example Ghost writers haunt. Mostly I just have some comic, fiction, some political Infinite Realms stuff and everything possible about Space and galaxies" Danny explained sheepishly.

"But it's huge" Tim looked bewildered at Danny and gestures to the room wildly.

Danny smiled a little bit embarrassed and rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.

"Do you require anything for the next meeting, Phantom?" A ghost security questioned.

"Ah Yeah, apparently in the pine realm there's a huge summoning problem. So see if we have any books on summonings" Danny requested.

He nodded and glanced at Tim. "And what does this living require?"

"This is Tim! If you have anything you like to read about, Layrex here can get it for you. Even from the archives" Danny introduced them proudly.

"Anything?" Tim inquired bewildered.

"Mhm" Danny agreed.

"All you would need to do is ask, Tim" Layrex explained politely.

"Well I book on ghost culture would be great" Tim requested.

Danny narrows his eyes at Tim. As Layrex went to retrieve the request books. "You are not going to use it to try and woo one of the ghosts, are you?"

Tim smirks. "It's not against the rules, is it?"

Danny groans. "You can't handle them"

"Have you ever dated a ghost?" Tim asked curiously.

Danny paused at that question and grimaced. "A ghost tricked me into dating them once to get back at her boyfriend and well there was the time when the ghosts tried to cheer me up with Love. It floped so hard and was Grosser then hell"

"Here are the books both of you requested" Layrex handed Danny 4 books and Tim 2.

"Thank you Layrex" Danny grinned happily.

"Anything for you, your highness" the ghost smiled and bowed.

Tim looked over the books in his hands and noticed that they weren't in English.

"Hey Layrex? Is there a dictionary for this language" Tim pointed at the unknown letters on the book.

"My apologies, but I am unsure which language you originated from" Layrex information Tim.

"Probably English, because he from my previous Realm" Danny responded.

"Oh, are you sure it is such a wise idea to give him access?" Layrex asked worriedly.

Tim stiffened up and looked wide eyed between Danny and Layrex.

"He is not from Amity Park" Danny Crossed his arms and huffed.

"What did the council say about this?" Layrex inquired.

"Layrex, not all living humans are evil" Danny deadpanned.

"And you Phantom are clearly terrible at judging" Layrex countered.

"Then why don't you take the stupid crown instead?" Danny asked smugly.

"You know exactly why I can't" Layrex declared. "It doesn't matter how many times you offer it to me"

"Just give Tim the dictionary" Danny demanded.

"Fine, your highness, but you can't hide him forever" Layrex warned and once more went to collect the requested book.

"Why are you hiding me in the first place?" Tim inquired worriedly.

"Most Ghosts still want war with your kind Tim. They won't take kindly to a living human person around me" Danny explained sadly.

"Should I hide out in the library or my room them?" Tim questioned.

"No, just try to stay out of the meeting room and the throne room as much as possible. The only important person that currently knows you are here is Frostbite and he knows how to keep a secret. I am unsure how the others will react about you. Since you are a living human and all that" Danny instructed.

Tim nodded in agreement.

"Here you go. Don't you dare break Phantom. Are we clear?" Layrex warned.

"I am not that easily broken" Danny huffed.

"Yes, sir" Tim promised, before Danny took him out of the library.
