Chapter Text
Joe slowly sat himself up as he rubbed his eyes. He looked around him and noticed it was quiet. Frowning, he decided to stand up and wander around for a bit. He was in a park, but it seemed to not be so busy. The trees swayed in the wind, and the sun was just starting to rise in the sky. He took a quick look at himself. Joe noticed he had on a pair of jeans, a sky blue shirt, and a pair of old shoes. He frowned again before focusing intensely on himself for a bit longer. Soon stopping, he shook his head. Trying but failing to piece together anything else he could about where he was. He considered asking around, but nobody was here. Joe decided to continue walking. At this point it was all he could do to keep himself from getting upset. He walked for hours, now passing by the many people roaming around. It was getting busier, and he was getting more hopeless by the minute. With each step he felt so out of place, but he knew he had to keep going on. Eventually Joe gathered up the courage to figure things out. He stopped to ask someone where he was, the woman laughing after he had asked the question. She told him anyway, and a sense of curiosity wrapped around him while she walked off. "Staten Island, never heard of it", Joe muttered to himself. Relieved to at least know where he was now, he decided to make his way out of the park and into the city around him. It wasn't that much different than the park, Joe thought to himself. Noticing the hustle and bustle of the city was much like where he just was. Joe saw everyone around him with things to do, places to be, family and friends. It brought a hint of sadness to his face. He was very alone and it was a feeling he did not like. Before he could do anything else, his stomach growled. Joe put a hand to his stomach in hopes the noise would dissipate. However, it growled again. He frowned, trying his best to ignore the cries from his stomach as he continued to walk. The pain wouldn't let up, so he decided to find somewhere quiet to take a breather. A thought soon came to mind as he found himself in an empty alley way. He looked around for a moment before determining it to be the perfect spot. Joe felt around his pockets for anything he could have on himself, but found nothing. A frown soon formed on his face, and he furrowed his brows in confusion.
"Who am I?" Joe questioned to himself as his face was painted with a look of sadness.
