Work Text:
Zach glared at Apollo, they'd gone over this over and over and yet he stared at him as standstill as ever. Like nothing Zach said mattered. It pissed him off to no end yet despite that he still planned and built the locations of every experiment regardless.
Even if these werent his friends, even if he was just another scientist, he still cared for the well being of the test subjects. But this, this was just a blatant disregard. It was dangerous, it was cruel.
As Zach stared down at the withering form of Forgelabs, his body crumbling under the weight of the poison melting his lungs. Before glancing up at Apollo, an almost pleading look crossing his face, to either just put the guy out of his misery or cure him.
But Apollo only continued to mark down the results of the lab, most of the subjects had experienced trauma and would need their memories wiped.
"I can feel you staring at me, and no I'm not going to do anything about him. The results of the poisons effect on him will be crucial for future tests. Return to designing the layout of the island."
The response was methodical, analytical like a true robot and it was the same response Zach had received for days now so doing as he was told. He turned away from the now corpse of a living human and returned to his study.
"What a human-like shame. Empathy has no place in such an environment."
