Chapter 1: "Dream"
Chapter Text
Sometimes it can feel like you've already lived this life. It's like you've lived a different life before. Maybe you've started from scratch? Or maybe the author of a book has completely rewritten your story? In any case, you can't prove anything to anyone.
What is your dream? Maybe you want to earn a lot of money, or maybe you want to help the sick and the poor. Maybe you want to become a great artist who will be famous all over the world for their skills and talents. The question is, can you achieve what you really want?
Since childhood, USA has been completely immersed in science. He had a lot of encyclopedias. He was ready to read them all day. Space, universes, nature, and prehistoric times were what captured the young scientist's heart. USA was an excellent student, and he knew a lot. His goal was to become a brilliant scientist who would discover something extraordinary.
USA was quite distant and quiet. He preferred the company of books over the company of people, which is why he quickly earned the nickname "nerd." This did not bother him in the least, but rather flattered him. He excelled in school and went on to attend one of the best universities in the world. However, even there, he continued to delve into science. He felt at home there, and of course, he found a few like-minded individuals. He was confident in his future, and nothing could ruin it. He was confident about every day that came.
When United States graduated from college and received his education, he immediately knew where he needed to go. L.I.L.O. stands for Laboratory for the Investigation of Living Organisms. It may sound boring, but it's actually quite fascinating. This laboratory conducted various experiments on various creatures. Initially, it focused on small rodents and reptiles, but as time went on, things took a turn for the better. When United States first saw this laboratory on television as a child, he realized one thing. He should not be there during the tour. He was supposed to be a part of this laboratory. It was this that completely motivated him to graduate from school with excellent grades. And do you think he was able to get in there? Of course! 15 years of full-time study with a gold medal. And not only that, he got there not just as an ordinary assistant or laboratory assistant, no, he was hired as a scientist! Well, that's really putting it too far... Of course, he would have to go through training and all the other steps, but the mere fact that he would be able to witness and even conduct experiments made his heart race. On the night before his first day of work, he couldn't sleep properly, anticipating his new life.
The next morning, USA got up before the alarm went off. He quickly ate a sandwich and drank some tea, washed his face, brushed his teeth, and put on his best shirt and tie. He looked at himself in the mirror. His purple eyes were shining with anticipation. He combed his white hair and smiled at himself.
—Well, USA, this is your big day!—he said to himself, straightening his tie, —Good luck!
With that, he picked up his briefcase and left the apartment.
When he went outside, he breathed in the fresh air and walked towards the subway. It was a long journey, as the lab was located at the far end of the city, but that didn't deter the young genius. On normal days, he disliked the subway, with its tired-looking people commuting to their hated jobs and sleepy-eyed students heading to their first class. However, today was too perfect a day to pay attention to such minor details. Unlike them, he was on his way to his favorite job, or at least the one that would become his favorite.
He rode for a long time, and most of the people got off at other stops, but he continued riding until he reached the end of the line. When he finally got off, he could see the outline of a large building in front of him. He started walking forward. As he walked, he noticed that there were fewer houses and other buildings around him, but he didn't pay much attention to it. He continued walking until he reached an iron gate with two armed guards standing outside.
—Good afternoon, gentlemen,—USA began,—I came here for my first day at work, can you tell me where to go here?
One of the guards coldly replied:
—You have to show the lab card.
USA grinned and rubbed the back of his head.
—Oh yes! That's right, the card, one minute.
USA opened his briefcase and took out the card that he was given on the day of the interview. He showed the card to the guard, after which the guard nodded and the gate slowly opened behind him.
—Thank you!
US said and walked past the two guards.
He continued walking until he entered the lab. He found himself in a huge hall. Everything around him looked like he had entered the future, he had never seen anything like it. In front of him was a table where a girl was sitting. He approached it.
—Good morning, —USA began, —this is my first day here, can I ask where I should go?
The girl looked at USA and smiled warmly:
—Good morning, I'm glad to see you in our laboratory. It's a pleasure to see young and intelligent faces with a lot of potential,—the girl replied.
USA was a little flattered, of course he had potential. It seemed like no one else had that much potential. Meanwhile, the girl continued:
—Please make yourself comfortable on the soft sofas, and the head of the department will be here soon,— she said, pointing to the white leather sofas in the distance.
USA looked over and noticed quite a few people. He counted 19 people, wow, are there that many capable individuals in this day and age?
—Um... Yes... Thank you,—USA replied and headed towards the sofas.
USA walked forward, and there were young people like him sitting there. Young guys and girls. He looked at them all, and he noticed two faces he recognized. He had met them at the institute. Well, it was clear that going to work here was not his only goal. He sat down on one of the sofas and waited.
About 10 minutes later, a man in his late 30s approached them. This was the man who had hired him.
—Good morning, dear colleagues!—He said as he approached the crowd,—I am truly delighted to welcome you here in our laboratory! For those who have forgotten, my name is Germany, and I am the head of the department where you will be working. I would like to congratulate you on becoming official members of our team!
The people applauded their new boss, and the United States did the same to blend in with the crowd.
—Please follow me,—Germany said with a smile,—I will give you a brief tour of your new workplace.
After these words, the brunette turned away and walked forward, and the young scientists followed him. United States was no exception, and it also followed Germany. As he walked, he felt a sense of unease, as if something was amiss. Perhaps he was feeling a bit nervous, as he was about to receive a wealth of new information. Without saying a word, he continued walking, taking in his surroundings.
Chapter 2: "L. S. C."
Chapter Text
USA walked forward, looking around him. He wondered why the head of the department had not mentioned the offices they were passing. Instead, he led the crowd deeper into the laboratory. As they passed by, he noticed that the employees and scientists looked unhappy. They all appeared tired and downcast, as if someone had died. Wouldn't these people be happy to work in one of the world's most advanced laboratories? After all, the salaries were impressive. How can anyone here be unhappy?
They were led further and further, and more and more often, USA caught the eyes of the workers, who looked at their crowd with a hint of regret. USA decided to just look down, as he did not like these people. Eventually, they were led into a large hall. It was a hall with bare, shabby walls, a few dim lamps, and a prison-like atmosphere. In the middle of the hall, there were 20 chairs, exactly the same number as the people in the crowd.
When all the people entered the hall, the iron door closed behind them, and two guards with machine guns stood near the door. Why was this precaution necessary? It was unlikely that all these people would steal anything, and there was certainly nothing to steal in this hall.
—Please take a seat, —said Germany, pointing to the chairs.
All the people began to sit down, and United States was no exception.
Germany adjusted his glasses and began his speech:
—Now, please take out all your mobile phones.
Take out your mobile phones? Why? United States was perplexed. When he noticed that everyone had taken out their phones, he did the same. Then he looked up and stared at Germany. A man approached the head of the department, and Germany whispered something to him, who then approached the crowd. He was holding a plastic box.
—Now, everyone put their phones in this box, —Germany said.
Put their phones? What nonsense. Why would they do that? It's personal property, they have no right to take it.
One of the young men protested:
—Why would we give up our phones? It's our property, there's no mention of us having to give them up.
The rest of the group agreed and nodded in agreement. Germany approached the man, and within seconds, a gun was pointed at his head. United States' eyes widened, and he gasped in surprise. Those who were sitting next to this man immediately stood up and walked away. Some of them stood up and ran towards the exit, but they were stopped by two security guards. US looked at the frightened crowd, but he remained seated, not wanting to be killed.
—I said, put all your phones in the box. Remember, I don't repeat myself,—said Germany, putting his gun away.
The man with the box approached each person, and this time, everyone handed over their phones without question. When it was USA's turn, he swallowed nervously and placed his phone in the box with trembling hands. The short man walked around with the box and returned to Germany. As USA looked closer, he noticed a badge on the man's lab coat. "Poland, Assistant Head of Department."
—Now, listen to me carefully,—the brunette said, —you think you've come to your dream job. But this is where all your dreams will be shattered. You can cry, whimper, or scream, but it won't help. The sooner you understand and accept where you've landed, the sooner you'll feel better.
—You will all be given your number, and your number will be linked to the creature to which you will be assigned as a personal scientist and observer. From now on, you will all live and work here. There will be no help from the police or your loved ones. All you can do is change and continue living,—said Germany.
It didn't feel like a joke or a prank; it was all real. USA began to feel his heart racing, sweat breaking out on his forehead, his breathing becoming heavy and he felt like he was going to have a panic attack. One of the girls spoke up:
—What if we don't listen to you? What if we don't do everything you require?
—Then I'm afraid I'll be having a dialogue with your corpse, young lady,—Germany replied with narrowed eyes.— You have a choice: work or death. Does anyone want to choose the latter?
There was silence in the hall. Of course, no one wanted to choose death. USA looked at the girl who lowered her gaze, getting an answer to her question.
—Each of you will be given a number and information about your creature,—said Germany.
Poland approached each of them in turn and gave them a number and a file. United States had number 6, and he didn't know if he was lucky or unlucky, but he knew that he was in a lot of trouble. He wished that this was just a bad dream. But it was a nightmare come true.
Welcome to L.S.C., dear scientists...—said Germany coldly.
L.S.C? What did L.S.C mean? Is it an acronym? But what does it stand for? USA's mind was racing. No, they can't work here, the police will find them. Unless they're working together... Tears began to well up in USA's eyes. No! He didn't want this! He wanted to go home! Take him home! The girl who asked the question noticed USA's nervous behavior and approached him. She put her hand on his shoulder and said,
—Panic won't help here... Calm down.
Calm down!? How could she be so calm!? They were brought here and forced to stay against their will, and now she's telling them to calm down!? US pulled his shoulder away and stepped back, unwilling to listen to words of encouragement at the moment.
They were all led to the next door. Beyond it was a long corridor with 10 rooms on each side. Each room had a number attached to it, which likely corresponded to their assigned number. All of them were ordered to take rooms corresponding to their numbers. USA still could not think clearly and did not fully understand what was happening. When everyone went to their rooms, and only USA remained in the corridor under the stern gaze of the head of the department and his assistant, he realized that he had to quickly go to his room. He quickly found his room with his eyes and went there, holding the dossier of the creature in his hands.
Chapter 3: "Russia"
Chapter Text
When US entered the room, he saw a small room with a bed, a table, and a chair. There was nothing else in the room, except for a single camera hanging in the corner. US began to think that this was some kind of prison. But what had he done to deserve this? He sat down on the bed and rubbed his face. What should he do now? The guards with their automatic weapons would not allow anyone to escape, and the police, according to Germany, were not to be trusted.
United States suddenly remembered how he had been rude to his younger brother Canada when he was leaving for a new apartment to work. He had said that he was glad that he would finally not have to see his face when he left. If he had known that this would happen, he would never have said such a thing. It is true that you only appreciate your family when you lose them...
US sighed and looked at the file next to him. He picked it up, and the cover read "Experiment 06." US opened the folder and was horrified to see a photo of this... This... Monster! It was an ugly reptilian face that seemed to be staring straight into his soul. Its glowing yellow eyes looked back at him with open hatred and malice, as if trying to devour his very being. US felt sick to his stomach as he examined the photograph. The creature's full body was barely visible due to the dark nature of the photograph. However, United States was able to make out a glimpse of the creature's appearance. The body resembled a human's, albeit with a slight hunch. The creature's body was muscular, and the United States was afraid to imagine the amount of physical strength it possessed. The creature's body was covered in fur and scales in certain areas. It had sharp teeth and a long, black tongue. Its head was adorned with long, hair-like fur that extended down to its waist. The creature had long, sharp limbs equipped with claws. What kind of creature was it? Where did it come from? The creature had very long ears on its head, like a rabbit's... But sharper and longer... The creature itself was dark green, with occasional yellow or orange scales. Ugh... It was a creepy creature.
US looked at the information. "Experiment 06. "Russia." Sex: male. Age (actual): 30 years old. Age (internal): 5 years old. What does internal age mean? Whatever it meant, the US continued reading. "Danger: fatal." Fatal!? What did that mean!? What the hell, what criteria would US use to monitor him? Not only would he never see his family again, but he would probably die on the first day he met him! US's heart started racing. No, he didn't even want to see this creature. Why him? He had originally come here to experiment on rats, not creatures that had escaped from the SCP lab.
USA tried to recover and continued reading. Additional information and description. Height: 358 cm. Tail length: 300 cm. When USA estimated his data on this creature, he almost felt sick. He was just below the creature's waist, that's really scary."The creature is extremely aggressive against people, every person entering his cell was brutally mauled, and later eaten. The creature has pieces of intelligence, it can also rely on instincts. A creature can understand human words, but just as quickly forget everything that a human has just said. The creature understands that it is just an experiment in a laboratory, and it hates scientists, and every time it tries to break the glass in order to tear one of them apart. The creature is also extremely intelligent, and it can imitate human crying and can deceive people for its own purposes. Do not trust this creature in any way! It is not a human! It has no compassion." United States closed the folder, not wanting to read any further, and he realized that he would not be able to leave this place alive under any circumstances. He would be torn apart by this creature. His eyes went dark and he collapsed on the bed. He would rather die right now... Maybe he should have chosen death when the head of the department offered? All this stream of thoughts made him feel terribly tired. He had a headache, he had too many emotions today.
USA lay down on the pillow and closed his eyes. He hoped that he would wake up and it would all be a bad dream.
His restless sleep was interrupted by a guard who roughly pushed him.
—Wake up, we're going out,—he said.
USA opened his eyes sleepily. Going out, where? What happened? USA tried to wake up quickly. He shook his head and adjusted his white hair. He got up from the bed and followed the guard as they left the room, and he noticed that everyone else had also left their rooms and was following the guard. The guard quickly ordered everyone to follow them, and they started walking towards the door.
As they were walking through the hallways, the girl who had tried to cheer him up earlier approached him.
—Are you scared?—she asked looking at USA.
No, USA is completely calm knowing that he is locked up with creatures. He rolled his eyes and replied:
—Of course not, I look like a psycho and I go out every day to face my fate.
The girl didn't appreciate the sarcasm and continued:
—Stop it, you're not the only smart one here, she replied, I'm also very scared...
USA looked at her with sympathy. They were all in the same situation, and it was stupid to lash out at someone who was going through the same thing.
—Yes, I'm scared too, and I want to go home...—said United States.
—My name is Japan, by the way,—said the girl.—Let's stick together, maybe it will help us stay sane.
USA thought that this was a good idea, having a friend by his side was much better than having to do everything by himself.
—I’m USA, but you can call me America.
He extended his hand.
Japan also extended his hand for a handshake.
—Where do you think they’re taking us?
USA thought that if they were taking them to those strange creatures, USA’s stomach was turning.
—I don’t know... I’m not sure I want to know...
They were led on. Finally, they reached a hall with tables and chairs. A dining hall, America thought. This allowed him to relax a little.
—Take your seats,—one of the guards said.
Everyone began to take their seats.
—Let's go sit over there,—Japan said, pointing to the farthest table.
USA nodded and followed her. There were five tables with four seats each. Japan and America took two seats, and two girls sat across from them. Neither of them made any effort to start a conversation. After about five minutes, everyone was served soup and a piece of bread. This place could easily be described as a prison. The only sound was the clinking of spoons against plates. The broth was barely warm, and it only had potatoes and dill.
—Broth...—Japan began.—My mother used to make me broth when I was little, when I was sick.
USA looked at Japan but didn't comment on her statement. They all wanted to go home.
When lunch time was over, they returned to their rooms, or rather, their "cells." They were told that tomorrow would be a difficult day and that they all needed to get a good night's sleep. USA lay down on his bed and immediately fell asleep, but it was a restless and disturbing sleep.
Chapter 4: "Here he is"
Chapter Text
In the morning, he was woken up by a voice coming from a small radio that hung in the corner of the room next to the camera: "Good morning, it's time to wake up and start a new working day." USA sighed and rubbed his face, he still couldn't accept that he hadn't woken up in his bed, but here. America stood up and stretched his muscles a bit. After that, a guard came in to him without warning and said:
—Get up, let's go out.
USA sighed and followed the guard. They were all taken to the showers, which were separated by gender, and then they were taken to breakfast. The breakfast consisted of porridge and tea, and as America ate in silence, his new friend asked:
—Have you read your creature's file yet?
For a second, US stopped chewing, he had even forgotten about it. A picture of the creature he had was flashing in front of his eyes.
—Y-yes... I read...
—And what do you have?
America paused, then said:
—A deadly danger.
Japan's eyes widened.
—Deadly? Oh my...
America nodded and asked:
—And what do you have?
—I'm not so bad...she said, —lowering her head.—I have a safe... My creature just looks like a huge, fat larva...
A larva? US began to feel really jealous, wishing he had an ugly, safe larva instead of a three-meter-tall monster.
After lunch, everyone returned to their rooms. US sat on his bed, rubbing his hands nervously, his leg twitching, and sweat dripping from his forehead. He was very nervous, not wanting to face the monster. His thoughts were interrupted when someone entered his room. It was Germany, accompanied by an assistant.
—It's time to go out,—he said.
US swallowed nervously. Was he being led to the place he thought he was? He walked silently behind the head of the department. Two guards followed them. They walked for a long time, passing through corridors and stairs. As they walked, he thought about the day before, when he had come here with excitement. He had never made such a mistake in his life. He began to remember the employees who had looked at the new scientists with regret. They knew everything. They were just as involved in this organization.
Eventually, they reached a door with a sign that read "Warning! Danger!" United States felt like they were being led to their deaths, which was indeed the case. They entered a small corridor with worn-out walls and a dirty floor. The air smelled of dampness and filth. There was a single door. The door had a lock that required a key card. Germany took out the key card and opened the door. He entered first, followed by Poland, and then United States and its guards. There was a small room with a table and two chairs, and on the wall was a glass that looked out onto the huge room where the creature's cell was located.
—Are you ready?—the brunette asked, adjusting his glasses, —have you read the dossier?
USA froze for a second, yes, he read the dossier, but not completely...
—I read it... But not completely...
Germany narrowed his eyes, and Poland cast a disapproving glance.
—Now you are seeing your being. Life-size. Your goal is to ask questions and find out how much this creature understands you.,Germany said."and it's in your best interest for the creature to take an interest in you." I need his brain's reaction, I need to know what kind of mind he has. You have to interest him, otherwise you'll become his bait.
After these words, US's heart sank. Does this mean he could die in the near future? Oh, God...
Germany opened the door, and the guards pushed him out and quickly closed the door behind him. US began to knock on the door again.
—No! Please! Wait! I'm not ready yet, let me study the file in detail!
He heard a growl behind him. Slowly turning around, he saw the same creature that had been staring at him through the thick glass. The creature didn't take its eyes off the young scientist, and US's heart skipped a beat. The creature was even bigger than he had imagined. Its long, curly tail wagged from side to side. US had no idea what to do. He hadn't fully read the creature's file, so how could he interest it?
US pulled himself away from the door and took a timid step forward.
—H-hey... Hey big guy...— God what was he saying? He had no idea what to say.—Y-you don't mind if I stay here for a little, r-right?
As if the creature could give him an answer. The creature stood up to its full impressive height, slapped its tail against the glass and roared. US was not expecting this reaction.
—Hey... Hey... Please calm down! I understand that it's difficult to stay calm in your situation, and I share your feelings! I completely understand them! I'm just as trapped here as you are! I understand that you might be feeling scared and lonely. But please, let me talk to you. If you understand me at all, please sit down...
Surprisingly, it worked. The creature calmed down and sat on its massive paws. United States thanked all the gods in the world for making it work.
—That's it... Good boy... I just need to talk to you... I know you hate scientists. I don't know what they've done to you or what experiments they've conducted, but I'm very sorry! I'm sorry you're alone...
The creature was staring at America. It wasn't clear if it understood him, or if it was even listening to him. It was more like it was just curious. US approached a little closer, examining the creature carefully. Its face, limbs, and body sparked a childlike curiosity in US. He loved studying animals in books. As the fear subsided, they both began to observe each other. US noticed the creature's muscular build. It was definitely very strong. He examined its long and sharp claws. Its long ears hung almost to its waist. It had broad shoulders, and in general, the creature bore a resemblance to a human. It walked on two legs, and its penis resembled a human's. When the United States' gaze lingered on the creature's intimate part for an extended period, the creature once again swung its tail against the glass, causing United States to flinch. Immediately, United States stepped back and raised its hands in a gesture of surrender.
So the creature could be shy? Or feel uncomfortable?
—Er...ah... I'm sorry! I'm sorry for staring at you so openly! I think it's very inappropriate, and I should treat you as an individual! Please accept my apologies.
The creature calmed down again and lay on the floor, staring at the young scientist. And United States didn't know what to do. How would he talk to the creature? His main goal was to understand the creature's consciousness. Based on the reactions to his words and actions, it was clear that the creature had a consciousness.
—Okay... Let's talk? You know... It's my job... I want to stay alive for a little longer than one day.
The creature made a sound that resembled a chuckle. It seemed to know that the young scientist's life depended on it.
—My name is America. A-me-ri-ca. And you're Russia. Right? See, we already know each other.—America said, —I enjoy your company, you know?
The creature continued to look at America, probably thinking of him as a foolish mouse trying to escape from the predator's grasp. However, the creature did not act aggressively, but rather calmly. It was unclear why it was observing him.
USA did not know what else to say, but seeing the creature's interest, he continued:
—Are you interested in me?—asked America, —may I come closer?
US came closer, the creature raised its head, looking the young scientist from head to toe. But their friendly "dialogue" was interrupted. Germany and Poland entered the cell. The creature immediately rose to its feet and roared. It began to circle around, growling loudly. Germany approached and smiled.
—How are you, 06? Have you missed me?
The creature lunged at the glass, revealing its mouth, and US felt as if the glass might break.
—Oh, my boy, forget about it.... You'll never get out of here...—He whispered as he stepped away from the glass.
He approached US and placed his hand on the man's shoulder.
—You're doing a great job.... You're the first scientist he's reacted to calmly... Keep up the good work, and you'll have a chance to stay alive...
Germany led United States out of the cell, and he looked at the creature that was looking at Germany with contempt. When Germany led him out of the cell, they were in a small room where Poland was standing. Germany sat America down at a table and gave him a pen and a notebook.
—Every day after you meet with him, you will write down everything you learn. At the end of each week, I will review everything you have written. If I think it's not enough, you'll be behind the glass...
USA swallowed nervously, it sounded very convincing... He took the notebook and pen and nodded. Then two guards led him back to the room.
Chapter 5: "13 September 2034"
Chapter Text
"The creature reacts extremely negatively to scientists, growling and trying to break the glass. Every scientist who was brought into the chamber was brutally torn apart. Over the course of 5 years of active work with the creature, it has killed 10 scientists and 23 test subjects who tried to speak to it. With each passing year, the creature loses its human "essence." In the past six months, the creature has stopped responding to the words of people who speak to it. It is possible that the creature is losing its ability to understand human speech and is gradually losing its self-awareness.
Goal:keep the object conscious and try to make it obey."
This was all that was written in the creature's file. In general, United States understood its goal, but was it easy to achieve? A creature that was losing its self-awareness could become completely uncontrollable. If it was losing its sanity, was there any point in keeping it from doing so? Based on the description, it seemed to be happening on its own. However, America was also curious about why the creature was listening so attentively if it was losing its self-awareness. If it says that he loses the ability to recognize human words, then how did he understand what he was saying? Maybe he was lying? It said that the creature could lie for its own purposes... But then it contradicted itself. Is he losing his self-awareness or becoming smarter?
US rubbed the bridge of his nose, it was really hard to understand. He didn't take any psychology classes, how could he understand what that creature was thinking? But what he knew for sure was that the creature hated Germany. As soon as he entered, he immediately threw himself at the glass. Well, it was clear that the head of the department was the cause of all his suffering.
America took out the notebook that Germany had given him and began to write.
"September 13, 2034. The creature is behaving calmly towards me. As Germany said, "I was the first scientist to whom it reacted so calmly. Perhaps no one had tried to behave appropriately with it before. I need to find a gentler approach to get answers to my questions".
After that, America put the notebook away. He couldn't write everything he was thinking because Germany would be able to read it. He still didn't have enough information to make any concrete conclusions about the creature. As he realized, he just needed to draw the creature's attention to himself. However, there were two problems: first, if the creature was becoming more intelligent, it would likely figure out what was being asked of it and not respond. This meant that United States would fall right into its hands. And secondly, the creature might lose its human identity and ignore the scientist, which would result in death. Therefore, United States had to find a different approach. He had to communicate with the creature as if he didn't understand what he was doing, as if he didn't know why he was interacting with it. The United States sighed, realizing that he would have to carefully consider what to say during their next encounters.
At lunchtime they were taken back to the dining hall where he was once again reunited with his new friend Japan. When they sat down together again to eat she asked:
—How was your first meeting with it?...
She was obviously asking about Russia.
—It was... Not as bad as I thought...—America replied uncertainly.
He was generally uncertain about anything here.
—What about you?...
Japan lowered her head, and her long white hair fell gently down her shoulders.
—Everything went well but...— Japan stopped. — I found out about the origin of my creature...
Ah yes... The larva. America was interested to hear about it.
—One of the workers who feeds some of the creatures here said...— the girl's voice trembled.—It was a baby.... It was made from a baby....
America couldn't believe what he was hearing. A baby?... Did the person who did this have no feelings at all? US looked away.
—It's not the best news...
Japan pushed away her plate of food.
—I still can't come to terms with it after hearing that. That big, ugly larva was once a baby... Imagine the pain it must have endured...
America put his hand on her shoulder.
—It's truly horrifying, but you must move on... You can't do anything about it, but you must be strong. We all must.
Japan didn't react in any way, and United States didn't know why it affected her so much. Yes, it certainly made America feel worse, but not in the same way it made Japan feel. Perhaps it was due to her personality, or perhaps she was too compassionate. In any case, United States couldn't blame her.
When the meal was over, US returned to the room. He lay down on the couch and began to ponder. If Japan's experiment had turned out to be a baby, could it mean that Russia had once been a human as well? Could it mean that this creature had once been an ordinary person? This theory was supported by the words in the file about the creature's true age and inner age. If this was true, how had it happened? And if it was true, what had happened to the other experiments? Were they all ordinary people?
After lying there for another hour, a short man entered his room again. It was Poland, but this time without his department head.
—Please follow me,—he said, putting his hands behind his back.
United States did not respond and silently followed Poland. As before, two guards were accompanying them.
This was the second time United States had visited this place, and he felt less fear this time, at least because Germany was not present. It seemed that he had more important matters to attend to. He was thrown into the creature's cell like the last time. The creature was lying on the floor with its eyes closed, but as soon as it heard the sound of the door opening, it opened its eyes.
—Hey... It's me again.... I think we've seen each other quite recently, haven't we?
The creature raised its head and then sat up on its paws, looking down at the scientist.
—Well... Let's talk to you again. I'm afraid neither of us has a choice right now...
The creature exhaled and lay back down on the floor. It seemed completely indifferent. This worried America, as he needed to keep the creature interested in order to avoid being trapped behind the glass.
—You know... I'm not sure you understand me... I'm not sure you have any compassion, but I treat you as an individual,—said United States, —and I really need you to listen to me. Your reaction is important to me. Your reaction is the price of my life.
The creature snorted in response. Well, at least he could hear it. The creature stretched and sat down again.
—Thank you, I'll take that as a willingness to listen...
USA looked into the creature's eyes.
—I can see your intelligent eyes. I know you understand me, so why are you pretending to be stupid?
The creature let out a growl and shook its head. USA felt like he was talking to a big child.
—You've killed a lot of people, and you obviously knew what you were doing. Do you feel any remorse for that?
The creature growled in response, baring its teeth, obviously not liking the question. USA rejected the head.
—This probably isn't the best question, but as I said, I treat you as person. And person can understand questions.
The creature growled loudly, opening its mouth with large fangs. This growl could have deafened America if not for the glass between them. The creature stood up on its feet, pacing around the cell nervously, its tail wagging.
—Okay, okay! I'm sorry, I was wrong! I don't know much about you! I'm trying to figure out who you are, because my life depends on it!
The creature stood on all fours, staring at America, and began to circle around him. America didn't like it; he felt like prey. He broke out in a sweat and took a step back.
What should he do? Could he say something without angering the creature? But the creature suddenly stopped being so nervous and sat down, looking at America with contempt. United States could see its nostrils twitching. Could it smell his fear? Even through the glass? In any case, the creature could see that he was afraid. United States stood there for a few minutes, trying to think of something to say. It seemed as if his entire vocabulary had suddenly disappeared, leaving only a tumbleweed in its wake. He looked up at the creature, and something strange caught his eye.
The creature had an... How can put this delicately... Erection? His penis was in a standing position. First, United States was once again convinced that the creature could become aroused, and second, it was probably the fear that caused this. It was aroused by fear or something like that. It sounded crazy. United States even felt uncomfortable. How should he react to this?
The creature got back on all fours and began to roar. US thought for a moment, then turned around and knocked on the door.
—Hey!—US shouted.—I have something to write! Let me out!
Surprisingly, the door opened and US was let out. Poland was sitting at the table, staring at him. US looked through the glass and saw the creature pacing back and forth. His erection was growing, and the swelling was pulling his penis down. US sat down at the table and took out a notebook from his inside pocket. He picked up a pen and began writing.
"The creature was showing signs of arousal. After my words, the creature developed an erection, which seemed to be growing stronger. I am unsure of how this creature perceives me. Perhaps he perceives me as a potential mate or female. Or perhaps he is simply aroused by the feeling of superiority."
Chapter 6: "He will get there"
Chapter Text
USA barely slept that night. His sleep was disrupted, he often woke up and fell asleep again. It seemed he was slowly going crazy because of the atmosphere and his own thoughts. Eventually he got tired and opened his eyes. The room was completely dark, he couldn't see anything. There were no windows, so there was no light at night. It was turned on at seven in the morning, when the day started. There were also no clocks, so he didn't know what time it was. It could be one in the morning or five in the morning. US lay there staring into the darkness.
Of course, the eyes get used to the darkness, but not to the pitch black. He lay there thinking about what would happen to him. What would happen tomorrow, the day after, and in general, what would happen to his life? What if he went crazy? America didn't even know what would be better for him here. To die at the hands of a monster, to go crazy, or to die from the depression that was soon to set in. What would happen to other people? What happened to the previous scientists? Did they all die? If so, does the United States have any chance of his survival?
And the creature is acting so strangely... United States rolled over on his side. What's wrong with this creature? The file didn't mention it... Has the creature reacted this way to other people, or has it reacted at all? Should he talk to Germany? Although there's no point in talking to this psycho. He probably doesn't care about how the scientists feel or what they're going through. However, he should protect them because they're doing important work. But what if he talks to Poland? He doesn't look so intimidating... Maybe he's more compassionate? Maybe he can talk to him? As it turns out, Germany doesn't always attend their "sessions" with the creature. He's probably busy with other creatures.
Why is he doing all this? What is his goal? Is it to take over the world? That's ridiculous, they're not in a cheap villain movie. Then why is he doing all this? How did he get to this point?
These thoughts made US feel sick. He closed his eyes and fell asleep. This time he didn't dream. He just passed out.
In the morning they were woken up, taken to the showers and the dining hall. US was very sleepy, in the shower he almost fell asleep if he wasn't pushed. In the dining hall he didn't eat anything either, he had no appetite. Japan sitting next to him noticed this and asked:
—Is something wrong? You look depressed,—the girl said.
—It's like you can't be depressed here...—US replied tiredly.
Japan lowered her head.
—Yes... I understand what you're saying... But there's clearly something else bothering you, and you know you can share it with me...—Japan replied encouragingly.
US sighed. To be honest, he didn't really want to discuss this with her. A person like her would find it disgusting and unpleasant. And to be honest, US thought the same way.
—It doesn't matter...—US replied.—I don't want to talk about it...
Japan sighed.
—Well... Okay... If you ever want to share your thoughts, feel free to do so, okay?
US nodded.
The meal was over. America returned to his room and began to think about what would happen today. He really wanted to talk to Poland, to discuss the creature's behavior. He hoped that this time, as it had been yesterday, Germany would not come. This would give him the opportunity to speak with Poland in peace.
US sat down at a small table and tapped his finger on the wooden surface. What if the creature reacted to him again? What should he do? And what if the creature didn't react to him? Damn... Why was everything so complicated? In both cases, he needed to come up with a plan or risk being trapped behind glass with the creature. So... Okay... He needed to understand how the creature perceived him. If the creature was aroused, it must have meant something. Last time, the United States identified two possibilities: the first was that the creature might perceive it as a potential mate or female, and the second was that the creature was aroused by a sense of superiority. Which of these possibilities was correct? And was any of it true? The creature could have perceived him as a mate. The creature was humanoid and could have mated with a human, well, unless you considered their size ratio... But the creature could also have been aroused by the feeling of superiority. But US was not inclined to this option. He did not think that the creature could be aroused to the point of having a strong erection. Okay, he would go with the first option.
Even if we assume that the creature perceives him as a partner, the logical question is: why? Well, it could be just an instinct, but the creature hasn't completely lost its mind, and it's possible that it can distinguish between male and female humans. So, what does this mean?
As he was pondering this, someone entered his room, and unfortunately, it was Germany. He wanted to see Germany even less than the creature itself.
—USA, it's been a long time since I've seen you,—said Germany as he entered the room.—Poland has told me a lot of interesting things since your last meeting... I'm impressed...
Of course, he already knows everything... So it won't be possible to talk to Poland himself...
—Come, we have some things to discuss...
USA stood up silently and followed the familiar route.
When they reached the cell, they entered it, while Poland and the guards remained outside. America didn't like this, as it meant that Germany wanted to talk without any interruptions.
—My dear USA. I've heard about the creature's reaction to you,— Germany began.
USA turned his head towards the window and looked at the creature's cell. The creature was lying on the floor, seemingly asleep. America turned his head back.
—Yes...
—I'm impressed. It's the first time in years that something truly significant has happened...— Germany replied.
The USA fidgeted nervously in his chair.
—Yes... Probably yes...
—You know... I don't want to stop there,—Germany said, staring at United States.
How much America hated his smile and tone...
—I've made the decision that you will soon be in his cell.
United States' heart sank, his mouth went dry, and his eyes narrowed.
—What!? B-but why!? I'm doing everything right! It's only been two sessions, and I need a little more time to prove myself!
US was ready to kneel. Why did they want to send him there!? It was a death sentence!
Germany laughed and waved his hand.
—Oh, you're so impressionable... You didn't even let me finish...—Germany smiled.—I need to know if there will be a deep... Connection... I want you to seal the bond... I need to know everything, I need to know how he perceives you... But don't worry, it won't happen today... I need to see if he has the same reaction to you again...
USA listened to this, his eyes twitching wildly. Did he get it right?
—You want... For us to... Mate?
He said the last word very quietly, not that he was embarrassed by the word, but he hoped that Germany didn't mean it.
—Yes, that's exactly what I want, you're a smart boy.
USA's heart was racing... Oh, my God... What could be worse? It was a nightmare.
—B-but what if the creature doesn't react to me like that again? USA asked in a trembling voice.
—Oh, well, then you'll just continue your work... I'm not some kind of psycho, am I?—Germany said with a chuckle.
He tried to make sense of everything that was said.
—But why all this?... Even if you need some kind of "connection" from us, it will probably just be a pairing. He won't be able to impregnate me....
—Oh, don't worry, it doesn't bother me, at least not as much as it could. Unfortunately, you can't make a girl out of you, no matter how hard you try. But the connection itself will mean a lot...— the German replied.
—But the size of this creature is enormous, it's almost unrealistic from an anatomical standpoint, and it could injure me in any way...—USA replied.
Germany chuckled again and adjusted his glasses.
—I don't care about that... If you sustain any injuries, we have doctors who can assist you...
USA felt a sense of dread. He didn't want this! In fact, any sane person wouldn't want this either!
—All right, enough chatter, now go... I want to watch this...—said Germany.
USA, with eyes full of horror, went into the creature's cell. When the door closed behind him, he felt more afraid than he had during his first encounter with the creature. He knew that there were cameras here, and even more so, that Germany was watching everything through the door...
The creature opened its eyes when it heard the door slam. When it noticed the scientist, it got up from the floor and sat down. America was afraid to even look up. He was so sweaty that he felt like he was melting like a piece of butter. Unsure, he raised his head and looked into the creature's eyes. The creature's yellow eyes were staring directly into America's purple eyes. Its eyes seemed so intelligent, as if it understood everything. The creature stood up on its two massive legs and kept its gaze fixed on America. The creature's mouth was watering. He's more likely to see him as food than as a partner. In fact, this has calmed America down.
The creature opened its mouth with a long tongue and licked the glass. The large amount of saliva could indicate that the creature was hungry. That's what he thought until he looked down. All his hopes were shattered. It was as if life itself had drawn a black line across his life.
He saw the creature's swelling again. This time, the creature seemed to be more confident and showed itself in all its glory. USA swallowed, wondering if the creature was trying to attract him. As the blood flow increased, his penis began to harden. United States realized that Germany had clearly seen what he wanted. Now he could not avoid what he had warned him about.
US turned away and walked out, the creature growled a little when it saw the scientist's departing figure, but then calmed down. US walked out and saw Germany's gaze. It was a look that said absolutely
everything.
—I don't see the point in wasting time...—Germany said.

Chapter Text
When US was sent back to the "moral training" room, Poland went to Germany.
—Are you really going to send him there tomorrow?—Poland asked.
Germany stood up from his chair and adjusted his glasses.
—Does it seem unhumane to you?
Poland looked away.
—He has some value... Can we risk it?... Maybe we should wait a little longer? It's only been three days...
Germany approached Poland and lifted his chin.
—Don't you trust my decisions, my dear Poland?—asked Germany.
Poland looked into Germany's eyes, a drop of sweat forming on his forehead from the tension.
—No... Of course not Germany... I trust you...
Germany smiled contentedly and ran his thumb over Poland's lip.
—Good boy... I had no doubt in you, dear...
Germany kissed Poland on the forehead and whispered in his ear.
—You don't want to disappoint me, do you, dear?...
There was a tense silence, and then Germany squeezed his subordinate's chin harder.
—N-no Germany... I won't disappoint... I promise...—Poland replied tensely.
Germany pulled away and tucked a white strand of hair behind Poland's ear.
—Great....
Germany walked past Poland.
—Come on.... We have an experiment scheduled for today....
Poland nervously clutched the sheets in his hands.
—Yes... I'm coming...
***
For the next day, all he did was lie there. At first, he was in a state of panic, thinking he was having a panic attack. However, after a while, he began to calm down. What should he do? Tomorrow, he would be torn apart or even killed. Although, it was likely to happen anyway... Tears began to well up in his eyes. Why was this happening to him? What had he done? He had never done anything wrong to anyone... What did he do to deserve karma? He could feel his hands trembling and his body covered in cold sweat.
He wanted to talk to someone, he wanted to be heard... Japan... He wanted to talk to her. He wanted to talk to her now. He got up from the bed and knocked on the door.
—Hey! Open the door! Do you hear me? Open the door,—United States shouted, banging on the door.
One of the guards opened the door.
—I need to talk to the scientist Japan, now,—America said.
Scientists are not allowed to talk to each other outside of lunch hours,—the tall man replied in a cold voice.
USA sighed.
—You're a human too! You have to understand me! I might die tomorrow, and I need to talk to her right away!—said United States in a panic.
—Scientists are not allowed to talk to each other outside of lunch hours,—the guard repeated.
What is going on? Can't he talk to the only person he knows here?
—Call Germany! Now!—shouted United States.
—The head of the department is currently conducting an experiment, so he can't come over.
—Then call Poland!
—The assistant of the head of the department is currently observing the experiment, so he can't come over.
USA sighed. It wasn't going to work out for him... They wouldn't let him go, so he would have to wait for the next meal.
America walked away and sat back down on the bed, and the door closed. He was going to go crazy. It was still a long time until lunch, and staying here with his thoughts was like committing suicide.
United States has come up with nothing better than just lying down and staring at the ceiling. He began to count, counting helped him not to fall into the abyss of his own mind and thoughts.
In the end, after counting to five million, it was time for lunch. Finally, he will be able to talk to Japan.
They sat down in their seats as usual and started eating.
—Japan... I need to talk to you...—America began.
Japan stopped eating and looked at him.
—Of course... I'm listening to you... Are you worried about something?
USA nervously fiddled with his fingers.
—Yes... It's a slightly sensitive topic... I just don't have anyone to talk to about it...
Japan's gaze softened, and she took America's hands in hers.
—I'm listening to you.
USA sighed.
—In general... The fact is that tomorrow I will be taken to the creature's cell.
Japan gasped.
—Tomorrow already?... What a horror... B-but why? You've only been here three days!
—I know...—USA replied, —but they will take me there for another reason... Not as food for him...
—What's the difference! We both understand the outcome of this event!
—Japan, please listen to me...
Japan fell silent.
—The problem is that I'm being taken there for a different purpose... Germany wants me and the creature to copulate...
Japan's eyes widened at what she heard.
—Yes, you heard me correctly... Bonding, mating, whatever you want to call it...
Japan shook her head.
—Wait, wait, wait. How? Why? Why? You're so much different in size! How did this psycho come up with this!?
—The creature was showing... A special interest... So Germany decided that I should do this. I'm not sure if I'll survive at all...
Japan squeezed his hands tighter.
—N-no, wait! Maybe he'll change his mind? Maybe he's just intimidating you? It's only been three days, he can't make decisions like this in seconds!
—I'm afraid he has unlimited power here...
Japan pulled his hands towards her.
—USA... I'm sorry... I know how scared you are... I'm scared too... I'm very scared for you...
USA understood that Japan didn't want to be left here alone.
—I don't know what exactly will happen there, but I really hope that I will survive....
Japan placed his hand on her chest, over her heart.
—My heart will only beat for you, USA... I haven't known you for long, but you are the most important person to me...
USA felt a little calmer after hearing her words.
—Thank you, Japan... I hope everything will be fine...
After lunch, they returned to their rooms. Once again, they were surrounded by loneliness and anxiety.
In the evening, USA talked to Japan again. She was very worried about him, and he was worried about her. He didn't want to leave her here all alone. But unfortunately, the choice was not on their side.
Evening. A sleepless night. An anxious morning. And now, he's already going there. Again. It all happened so fast... Too fast. America was all cracked up, he was sweating terribly, it was so scary.
Here, he's being led into the cell. The iron door is opened, and two guards stand by with guns and sleeping pills, in case the creature attempts to escape. Germany pulls out a key card, and the iron door opens. United States is quickly pushed inside without any means of self-defense or weapons. Now, the glass no longer separates them, and he is merely a prey.
The creature sits at the other end of the cell, staring at him with its eyes. What is it waiting for? Does it want to play with him first? Why isn't he attacking? US stood still as a stone, not even breathing as he looked into his yellow eyes. All thoughts suddenly fell silent, as if his mind had become mute. What should he do? Should he move? Should he run?
The creature suddenly stood up on all fours and slowly approached the scientist. Its nostrils flared, and it seemed to sense the fear and tension in the small scientist. United States began to tremble, trembling in a way it had never trembled before.
The creature's mouth dripped with saliva as it slowly approached the scientist. Why was it approaching so slowly? Why wasn't it lunging at him? Suddenly, a sense of self-preservation took over, and United States bolted towards the iron door. He did it without even thinking, his legs carried him there. He knew he had done a very stupid thing. He was locked up and he couldn't get out. And of course, such a creature would immediately chase after him, driven by its hunting instinct.
And so it did, as America tried to open the wretched door, the creature lunged forward. In a matter of seconds, America was pinned to the floor by the creature's clawed paw. His breath quickened, and the creature roared at him. America felt as if he were going to be deafened by the noise. The creature's massive mouth was very close to his face. America closed his eyes. This was it.
But surprisingly, the creature didn't bite off his head, it just looked at the frightened USA. It brought its face closer to America's body and began to sniff it. USA hesitantly opened his eyes. He could see the creature's face so close. It seemed even bigger up close than it did through the glass. What did it want?
As the creature sniffed him, it extended its long green tongue and licked America all over his body. It was so disgusting. When the creature's tongue licked his face, he felt like he was going to vomit.
USA could see the creature's arousal again, but this time it didn't surprise him. The creature started growling as if it wanted to say something, but America couldn't understand it.
The creature seemed to realize that it wasn't being understood, and it just began to do what it wanted. It began to tear the clothes off America's body with its claws, and it wasn't without consequences. Every time the creature's claws touched the scientist's skin, he cried out. It wasn't a pleasant sensation.
Eventually, all the clothes were ripped off and shredded, leaving America completely naked and with a wounded body. The creature seemed unperturbed by America's size. He ran his tongue along the scientist's body again, brushing against his penis, causing the United States to emit a moan. The wet tongue touched his flesh, and it was incredibly disgusting. United States seemed to want to die rather than continue with this humiliating and repulsive act.
He noticed the size of the creature's penis. It was about 50 cm... It was impossible! Did this monster even understand what it was doing!?
The creature approached closer and leaned down, staring into America's eyes. A moment later, the creature moved, and America felt an intense pain that pierced through him. The creature entered him, swiftly and completely. Tears welled up in America's eyes. He had never experienced anything more painful, and he arched his back. His breathing became rapid. The creature began to move, seemingly unaware of the pain it was causing its partner.
USA felt a terrible pain that made him moan and scream at the same time, and he could feel liquid dripping down his legs, which he assumed was blood from the tears. He screamed loudly, it felt like torture, and every second felt like an hour. However, the creature was only enjoying itself. It even tried to penetrate deeper, but nature was too strong, and its size was too large.
By the end of the process, United States was exhausted, too weak to even scream, and after a while, he felt the creature fill him with its seed, causing his stomach to swell. When the creature finished, it pulled out its pulsating penis and looked at the scientist's legs. The semen and blood mixed, dripping from America's legs. The creature extended its tongue and began licking the young scientist's crotch, wanting to keep him clean.
America had no energy left to scream or move. His legs were occasionally twitching in pain, and he felt like a piece of meat. The creature licked him clean. After that, the creature lay down next to him, wrapping its massive paws around him and covering him with its tail.
Tears were streaming down the US's face. It was the most humiliating experience of his life.
Chapter 8: "Compulsion"
Chapter Text
Poland watched all of this, and his heart ached with sympathy for the young scientist. He couldn't even imagine the pain and humiliation he must have endured. He looked over at Germany, who seemed pleased with the proceedings. Poland lowered his gaze and pondered. Why was Germany doing this? Was there a purpose, or did he simply enjoy watching others suffer? Given how long he had known Germany, he was inclined to believe it was the latter. So many scientists died because of his reckless decisions, and in most cases it was all for nothing.
—It went even better than I expected,—said Germany.
Poland looked at him. No, it went terribly. There was nothing good about it, and there couldn't be. How could a person say such a thing while watching someone suffer? And not just any person, but America. Poland had always been against these dirty experiments, but now it was even worse. Previously, the victims died quickly and almost painlessly, but America had to endure much more. Poland was afraid of what would happen to him when he came to his senses.
—We need to get him out of there. Organize it,—said Germany as he left the cell.
Poland watched him go. Yes, America needed to be taken out of there before the creature ate him.
Poland gathered some doctors and guards, but taking America out of there was not an easy task. The creature growled and wouldn't let anyone near the glass, and when they tried to open the door, the creature slammed its tail against the floor and glass, roaring the entire time. It didn't let go of America, constantly licking it with its tongue.
They tried to distract the creature, but it didn't even pay attention to them, and even the tasty carcass didn't catch its eye. Poland realized that as long as the creature was conscious, they wouldn't be able to help America. Waiting for the creature to fall asleep was also a waste of time, as it might not sleep at all, leaving America in pain and discomfort. Therefore, Poland decided to sedate the creature, as he didn't want to resort to this method, as the creature was well aware of the purpose of the masked individuals entering its chamber. There was a possibility that there would be more deaths today. But there was no time to think about it.
Three guards stood in front of Poland as he dictated his instructions:
—Right now you will enter the chamber to this creature, your task is to hit it with a dart with a laxative, and then instantly run out of the chamber. Is everything clear to everyone?
The three men nodded to understand their task.
The iron door opened and all three entered, the creature looked up and immediately grinned. It pulled America closer to it, which made him groan. Any touch to himself caused him pain, especially if it was touching his lower body. One of the guards didn't wait and shot the creature with a dart. The creature roared at the stinging sensation, its pupils narrowing. It left America on the floor and rushed forward on all fours.
—Run away, quickly!—Poland shouted, banging on the glass.
Two of the guards rushed to the door, but the third one was unlucky. The creature's paws grabbed him, and a second later, the man was lying on the floor without a head. A pool of blood formed on the floor, and the creature began scratching the glass. Poland stepped back from the glass, as the creature's anger was palpable even through the solid surface. Poland examined the creature and noticed that the dart had hit the creature's front limb, indicating that the laxative would soon take effect.
A couple of minutes passed and the creature began to calm down, it slowed down and lay down next to America. Great, the laxative was starting to work. Poland looked at the two guards who were trying to process everything that had happened, and he sighed heavily. When the creature collapsed to the floor and went completely unconscious, Poland ordered the doctors and guards to take America away and then remove the corpse from the chamber.
Poland watched as the doctors carefully placed America on a stretcher to avoid further harm. They transported him to the infirmary, while Poland ordered the corpse to be dealt with. He followed the doctors with a concerned expression on his face. Poland felt genuine sympathy for America, as no one should have to go through such a traumatic experience. Not only had he suffered physical injuries, but also psychological trauma.
When America was brought to the infirmary and placed on a bed, Poland approached the doctor.
—Tell me when he's better, when he can talk normally and even sit normally,—Poland said anxiously.
The doctor nodded silently, and Poland left the infirmary. Germany was waiting for him at the entrance.
—Well? How is he?—asked the German.
Poland looked down. It was as if he was genuinely concerned about his condition.
—He's not in the best of shape... We need to wait a couple of days for him to fully recover.
—As soon as he can speak normally, tell me. I need to know everything. Feelings, sensations, and pain,—replied the German.
Poland felt a surge of disgust. He didn't have a single drop of empathy, and he was only interested in America as an experiment.
—Mhm...—Poland nodded briefly.
Germany's eyes flashed with a dangerous light, and he grabbed Poland's chin, forcing him to look at him.
—You've been upsetting me with your behavior lately,—Germany said seriously.—You're always upset and looking at everything with a judgmental gaze...
Poland looked into Germany's red eyes, and fear reflected in his own eyes. The last thing he wanted was for Germany to unleash his cruel nature on him again. Germany's moods changed so frequently that Poland couldn't keep up with what was making him angry.
—N-no, no, Germany, that's not true,—Poland said in a frightened voice.
Germany looked at him sternly, not believing his words.
—Don't you believe in my ideas?—Germany slapped Poland across the face, causing him to almost fall to the ground.
—No! Germany, please!—Poland backed away, clutching his sore face.
He retreated until he hit a wall. Germany often had bouts of aggression, even if there was no good reason for it.
Germany grabbed Poland by the neck and pushed him against the wall. It made Poland feel like he was seeing the light.
—Say it.
Poland's eyes darted around in fear. He knew that if he didn't start saying what Germany wanted to hear, he would probably get hit again, this time even harder than before.
—G-Germany! I always, always believe in your ideas! I think everything you do is right! Really, you know that!—he hoped it would work.
Germany continued to stare at him with a stern look, but still loosened his grip. Eventually, his gaze softened.
—... My dear Poland... I'm sorry, I let myself slip again... You know how much I love you... But you have to understand that sometimes you piss me off, —said the German, stroking Poland's cheek.
None of his words were true, each time his mood changed as if at the touch of a button, and it wasn't the Pole's fault. He had known about this trick for a long time, and Germany had tried to manipulate him, trying to make him look miserable, as if he understood his mistake, but that was not the case. However, the situation was beyond Poland's control, and he had to play the role of an obedient subordinate once again. With a sense of disgust, he leaned against Germany's hand, rubbing his cheek against it.
Germany smiled and said contentedly:
—Good boy, keep it up. You don't want to upset me, do you?
He pulled Poland closer, drawing him into a kiss. Poland hated these moments. Germany gripped Poland's cheek with one hand and his thigh with the other, holding him in place. He felt Germany's tongue enter his mouth, and he reluctantly allowed Germany to do as he pleased. As always.
After a few seconds, Germany pulled away with a smile on his face.
—I love it when you're so obedient, —he said.—Keep working.
With that, he let go of Poland and walked away in the opposite direction.
Poland lowered his head and wiped his mouth with his sleeve. It was disgusting.
Chapter 9: "Monster"
Chapter Text
Every day for a week, Poland went to visit America. America was starting to feel better, at least he could talk and understand what was going on. Poland wasn't in a hurry to tell Germany about it, even though he should have. He didn't want Germany to start asking questions, as America was still a bit off, and talking about what had happened to him could trigger a negative reaction. Therefore, Poland tried to avoid the subject. Instead, he engaged in more relaxed conversations with America. For example, he told him about Japan, which was also worried about America. In general, he was trying to delay the moment when Germany would arrive.
On this day, Poland came to visit the victim again. He sat on a chair near the bed, and the room was completely silent, with only the sound of the lamp breaking the silence. Poland looked at America, who was just staring at the wall. He gently raised his hand and placed it on America's shoulder.
—Hey, America, are you okay? Is there anything bothering you? We can talk about it,—Poland asked cautiously.
America seemed to come out of his daze and looked at Poland.
—It's okay,—US replied.
—Poland,—he began uncertainly.
Poland gave a questioning hum.
—Will I go back there? Will he make me do it again?
Poland lowered his head, avoiding eye contact with him. He didn't know, he didn't know what was going on in that crazy man's head, he could do anything.
—I don't know, US... He could do anything. But I promise I'll try to change his mind if he decides to do it again. For now, I won't let him near you.
US looked at the little man and lowered his head.
—It's unlikely to help. But thank you anyway...
His voice was devoid of any hope, and considering the situation he was in, it wasn't surprising. Poland looked at him with sympathy, understanding what US was feeling. He understood what anyone working here would feel. So many young and bright minds had been lost here.
—My creature... How does it behave?—US suddenly asked.
Poland didn't expect America to ask such a question, he thought that any mention of the creature would make him feel afraid or disgusted. He didn't think that he would want to know anything about it.
—It's aggressive... It walks in circles and growls at everyone. When they try to feed it, it doesn't eat anything. It doesn't even touch the food,—Poland replied.
He met America's gaze. He couldn't understand what he was feeling, but he didn't seem afraid. He looks like he's... Sorry? Poland didn't understand him, maybe his opinion was wrong, but if it wasn't, he couldn't understand US's position. Has US changed so much in this time?
—Is this because of me?—America asked.
—We can't know for sure... It's possible, but it could also be something else affecting him. We'll have to wait until you're fully stabilized to find out. Your condition is currently unstable.
America lowered his head again, and Poland watched him closely, unsure of what was happening.
—Can I talk to Japan?—America asked.
—I'm sorry, but not at the moment. For Japan to come here, Germany must know about it, but if he finds out, he will come here. You don't want that, do you?—Poland replied.
America shook his head. Poland nodded in response and stood up from his seat.
—I have to go to work, have a rest in the USA,—Poland said as he left the infirmary.
As he was leaving, he almost bumped into Germany, who was standing there, and he winced at the sight of the tall man.
—Hello, Poland. How is our young genius?—Germany asked, looking down at Poland.
—He's still struggling to comprehend everything that's happening, and he needs a few more days-
Poland didn't even have time to finish his sentence before Germany pushed him away from the door.
—A week is more than enough, and I don't have time to wait a month,—Germany said as he entered the room.
Poland was in a panic, he had just told United States that he would not let Germany near him for the next few days. Poland knew that Germany had a way of pushing the right buttons, and after the traumatic event that had happened to America, it was easier than ever. He stood outside the door, unsure of what to do, if he went inside, there was no way he could change Germany's mind. It was impossible. Poland sighed, there was nothing he could do right now. He waited outside the door.
Germany entered the room, and America looked at him, thinking that Poland had returned to say something, but when he saw Germany, his eyes widened.
—Hello, America, it's been a while,—Germany said, sitting down on a chair.—I've come to talk to you about what happened.
America narrowed his eyes, not liking the sound of this. Given what Poland had said, it was clear that this would not be a pleasant conversation.
—You know perfectly well why I've come here,—Germany said.
—I know...—US replied.
Germany smiled contently.
—If you know, then you must be ready to answer my questions.
—I am ready,—US replied seriously.
Germany was a bit surprised that US was so composed, as he had expected a denial or at least a hint of fear. However, US acted as if he had been prepared for this conversation since birth. Germany narrowed his eyes in response.
—Well... Let's begin then. I am interested in all the details of what is happening. Your thoughts, feelings, and everything else, you can answer this question, can't you?—he asked.
—Yes, I can answer,—US began, sighing.—It was a terrible and disgusting feeling, the most disgusting I've ever experienced. I felt fear, disgust, and anger at the creature's actions. I wanted it to stop as soon as possible.
A muscle twitched on US's face. Germany liked it, US was even now feeling fear, though he tried to hide it.
—Go on.
America sighed again and continued:
—It felt like all your organs were pulled out and shoved back in, like they were mixed up and didn't bother to put them back in their places. I felt like I was being torn apart,—US continued.
Suddenly, the memories hit his head like an iron hammer, and America closed his eyes. Germany's smile only grew wider. America felt the creature's claws on his skin again, causing him to shudder.
—Come on... Keep going... I'm interested in hearing all the details...—said Germany, staring at United States.
America grabbed his hair, feeling it again and again. It was as if a million hands were touching him everywhere, suffocating him, making him choke. His breathing quickened, and he began to sweat.
—I-I don't want to... I don't want to...—said United States in fear.
—Oh... But just now you were so confident, where did your former self-confidence go?—asked the German.
He liked to see him scared and broken, it seems that the meaning of his life was to make people even more broken than they were before. In the end, he realized that America would not tell him anything more, he could force him to do it, but why? He had a wonderful opportunity to prolong this magical moment for several days. Germany stood up from his chair.
—Well, that's not enough, but it's going to be. Calm down, you're not in one cell with monsters, ahah,—Germany joked.— Not for a long time, anyway...
He left the chamber with that. No, Germany was wrong, just United States was in one cell with monsters. And the monster is not his being, but the head of the Department.
As soon as Germany left the chamber he noticed Poland. He lowered his head to his assistant.
—You've been waiting for me all this time? How nice,—said Germany.
Poland did not answer it and quickly entered the room to United States. Seeing him in the state he ran to him and put his hands on his shoulders.
—Hey, USA, calm down, look at me!—Poland exclaimed.
He shook him by the shoulders and forced him to look at him. When their eyes met, he noticed that US was looking around, trying to focus on Poland. He shook America again, gently, so that he could focus on him.
—Look at me, USA. Look. You need to calm down, you're not in any danger right now, Germany is gone, and it's just you and me.
Although America was still shaking slightly, and his eyes were wide with fear, he managed to nod in response. Poland lowered his hands.
—I don't know what he's been doing to you here, but you have to understand that he's doing it on purpose. Don't let him cloud your judgment. America, I know it's difficult, I know what you've been through, but you have to be strong. This place doesn't tolerate weakness, and I know you're strong. What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. You know this better than anyone.
After a couple of seconds, America was able to regain his composure and calm down. Although a hint of fear still lingered on his pale face, he seemed to understand the situation.
—Okay, now listen carefully,—Poland began.—Your goal is to remain calm. I know it's challenging, but the sooner you learn to control your emotions, the easier it will be for you to survive here. America, you must do this, do you understand?
America nodded several times. He really understood, but as Poland said, it was difficult, almost unattainable.
—I will help you in any way I can, I will help you not to go crazy. We will get through this, I will try to get any information and ideas from Germany, I will report everything to you, but you need to stay strong.
America listened to Poland, too much information was coming at him, but he had to process it.
—I can bring Japan here soon, she'll talk to you.
Suddenly, there was a knock on the door behind them, and Poland turned around to see Germany standing outside the door. Had he not left yet?
—I'll try to fix everything,—he whispered as he walked towards Germany, leaving United States alone with his thoughts.
