PROLOGUE

Thrown into a society that scorns her Muggle-born blood, Hermione must learn to live two lives: Hermione Granger, the brilliant and brave Gryffindor who stands and fights for the marginalized, and Hermione Malfoy, the young bride of House Malfoy, learning the ruthless art of pureblood politics. Along the way, she forges unexpected alliances, endures the sting of prejudice, and clashes endlessly with Draco— whose pride and arrogance conceal his own turmoil about the bond that ties them.
Caught between Voldemort’s rising shadow, Hogwarts's own house politics, and the suffocating weight of expectation, Hermione must decide whether to submit to the ancient traditions that bind her or defy them entirely. And somewhere between duty and defiance, rivalry and tenderness, she discovers that love can grow even in the most impossible of places.
