Chapter Text

It’s another bright day within Robloxia, the robloxians and other creatures are out and about of this normal day. Spring is starting to reveal itself and the beauty with it.

Even on such a sunny day, Robloxia must be kept in order by the admins. So here’s Dusekkar, who’s currently reading some seemingly interesting books and spells, within the HQ’s library.

It’s a slow day for Dusekkar. Though, a well deserved break nonetheless, considering having to deal with a certain exploiter’s mess. What was his name again? 7n7? Doesn’t matter.

What matters is the sunlight shimmering into view, allowing its welcoming warmth embrace him some more. How nice…

In a moment of peace, a thought came across his mind. The other admins! Are they also enjoying a long needed break? Perhaps he should accompany someone who isn’t?

But who?..

Doombringer and Clockwork are most likely training on some battlegrounds.

Builderman is taking a security stroll through the nearby neighborhoods.

Telamon is… doing whatever Telamon does.

As he continues to go through the list of admins, one certain person comes up into thought.

Taph!

Of course! One of HQ’s reliable demolishers! He’s certain that the finch wouldn’t mind some company.

To be frank, he now reflects on the odd behavior from them. They seemed to distant themselves more than usual, as well as a constant fever-like expression whenever they crossed paths in the halls. Even under that hood.

Is she sick?

Should he make some herb tea? Even cast a spell?

That seems to be the best for the little bird’s problem, so tea it is!

— — — — —

Through his many years, Dusekkar has definitely learned a thing or two about cooking.

Adding some rosehip and elderberry to boost immune system and fight infections, then some peppermint to relieve indigestion, nausea, and headaches.

After some final touches, the tea was complete!

Now to find the consumer.

Where could he be? Where within HQ does the little finch reside?

During his deep thought, a figure caught his eye. Looking through the large windows of HQ, he sees a dark, winged figure.

Too small for it to be Telamon. Must be Taph.

He watched the figure looking around the surrounding forest. They seemed… in a hurry? Almost looking for something.

Then in a swift motion, picking up bundles of large sticks. As well as some moss and leaves.

This wasn’t entirely odd to Dusekkar, for he’s already a bit accustomed to bird hybrids and their behavior (Telamon to be precise).

But what’s up with the abundance in sticks? Is she building a nest? Do they do that? Perhaps it’ll benefit their sickness?

Snapping out of his mind as the figure scurries off into the deep forest north. He’ll have to run- or better yet- float along to keep up with Taph if he wants to help.

Taph will feel better in no time!

Chapter 2: To Call Home

Notes:

Update I figured out how to work this :)

Chapter Text

It’s been what feels like a good 30 minutes of following close behind the finch. ‘How has she not noticed by now?’ Dusekkar ponders for a bit while still levitating behind.

Even this deep within the forest, Taph hasn’t slowed down one bit. Still as jittery from before.

Finally, the seemingly endless journey came to a destination. An old timely cabin was in view. The exterior was a bit rundown, pieces of the roof deteriorated and the walls dirty, but still in good shape regardless!

Is this where they rest in meantime? Or could the house be a factor to his sickness?

As Dusekkar continued to think of the endless possibilities as to why, he didn’t notice how the finch had came to a stop.

She turned around fully, now facing the mage.

‘. . .’

They both stared in silence for an embarrassingly long moment.

Then the finch finally reacted, jumping a bit in surprise from the unexpected guest. This made the mage chuckle to himself.

They began to sign, ‘What are you doing here?!’

“I saw thee wan, thy spirit weak,
And came to help, for thou seemed’st sick.”

Seemingly confused, Taph paused for a moment before embarrassingly shaking his head. Waving her hands in front while their head wings quickly covered his face. Both pairs of wings fluffed up.

“Thy visage pale, thy breath grown thin.
What ails thee so, my friend within?”

‘Nothing. I’m fine!’ she quickly signs.

Dusekkar could tell this was a lie. Even though he didn’t want to pry his dear friend open, their health was extremely important to him.

“Pray, do not lie, sweet friend of mine,
I seek but truth, no harsh design.
I’d ease thy pain, thy troubles flee.
I only wish to help… made tea.”

Revealing the small jar of (still hot) tea from his robe. Stretching out his hand to give it to the demolisher.

She seemed indecisive about whether or not to accept his gift and aid, but ultimately agreed.

This relieved the mage greatly, now he’ll be able to finally help Taph—

Before he could finish his next thought, Taph suddenly grabbed Dusekkar by his sleeve. Quickly leading him into the house.

Once in, she shut the door as quick. Then somewhat lightly pushing Dusekkar on to… a nest? An almost giant nest?

Is this where they reside? Sleep even? How could one rest on a pile of sticks comfortably?

As badly how he wanted to give his concern, there were bigger questions currently.

Taph was standing in front of him, seemingly hesitant to act furthermore. Hands about to begin signing.

‘Are you sure that you want to help?’

“Positive is what I am!”

Silence came again. Then, the finch would quickly land right on top of the mage. Straddling on his lap.

‘Would you then be…’ her hands hesitated for a moment ‘…my mate?’

“. . .”

Dusekkar blushed greatly over his face as his flame burned brighter than ever before.

MATE?! He thought. Them two were together but not officially, so is this Taph’s way of suggesting to tie the knot? Or could this be their sickness talking?

They’ve been together for a good amount of time, and they’ve both spoken about creating a life outside of HQ. So, is this it? Should he agree? What would happen if so?

Screw it.

“I accept your offer, shall be thee’s.”

That was all Taph needed to hear.
