Chapter Text

"So I just have to get a few of these," Deuce muttered to himself as he looked at the page in the field guide. It showed a picture of a plant that grew in various lakes, an important potion component. The Herbology teacher had given them an important project where they were supposed to make a potion from plants they'd foraged themselves.

Deuce had selected something he thought was simple enough. A potion that would increase one's vitality, much like an energy drink, but safer. It wasn't anything special, but it was simple enough that even Deuce could manage it.

He just had to retrieve his final ingredient, rosy waterlily blossoms, which were in bloom right now in the Forbidden Forest's lake. But a major rainstorm had kept Deuce from making it out here until now, and he was behind on the assignment.

"Gotta catch up," Deuce said to himself as he walked toward the lake's edge, where he could see the lilies floating off in the distance, their reddish pink blossoms wide open. Deuce pulled out his camera and took a few snaps, sending one to his mom and putting the other on his magicam with a few plain hashtags. #flowers #waterlilies #schoolwork

"Yosh," Deuce said as he put his phone in his bag, which he sat on the ground. He sat down and pulled off his shoes and socks. He then rolled up the cuffs of his pants so that he could easily wade into the muck.

Grabbing the foraging bag he'd bought along, Deuce got up and did a few side stretches as he gazed ahead at the waterlilies. It was much quieter than the last time during Vargas Camp. A bit strange even, considering now fairies had shown up.

"Maybe they got the message from last time," Deuce thought to himself as he decided to start wading out into the water. The moment he stepped in, he shivered. The water was cold, though not unpleasantly so. The mud was sticky and soft as it squished between his toes. Deuce carefully picked his way till he was at the first waterlily the water now up to his thighs, various plant stalks swishing around his legs.

Pulling a pair of scissors from his pocket, Deuce grabbed a large blossom by the stem and snipped it off. The flower was large and filled Deuce's hand despite how light it was. He dropped into the bag and then moved onto the next one. The flowers had a light, sweet scent permeated the air. There were some gnats that Deuce had to swat away on occasion, but otherwise the setting was peaceful, and Deuce couldn't help but enjoy himself.

He'd been so busy that this literal chance to smell the flowers was more than appreciated. Maybe he'd write about this in the journal Riddle had gifted him. His housewarden had told Deuce that it would be a good way to track his progress. Maybe Deuce would even try drawing a picture or two of the flowers he'd harvested.

"Or I can even try to catch a fish later," Deuce thought to himself. "Have a little fish roast." He had his pen this time, so starting a fire would be easy. Much better than Vargas camp. He wouldn't be stuck in a cave either, facing down a blot monster.

Deuce shivered at that and then chuckled. "Nothing's going to get me out here, it's all-" Deuce paused as he felt something slither across his ankles. Pushing aside the lilies that floated around his thighs, Deuce saw nothing and shook his head. Maybe it was just a fish. Only the sensation repeated itself, scratching his ankle. He quickly backed up in alarm and then laughed as he peered into the water. There was a piece of driftwood half-buried in the muck, with a jagged end jutting out. Deuce started to laugh as he looked at it sticking out among the plant stems.

And because he was in the mood to laugh at himself, Deuce wasn't prepared for a green and white hand to grasp his ankle. There wasn't time for Deuce to yell or kick his feet as he was yanked and fell on his butt in the mud and water. Deuce struggled to his feet, still clutching his bag, not sure where the scissors had gone. He started to reach for his magic pen, clipped into his tracksuit pocket, only to find his ankle was being grabbed again, causing him to stumble face-first into the water. Gasping and choking, Deuce's head broke the surface, and he tried to move only to find himself caught up in the lilies.

The strange presence didn't wait long before grabbing him again, this time with both hands. Deuce barely managed to take a breath before he was dragged under and found himself being pulled deeper into the lake. Desperately, he started to kick at whatever it was.

Meanwhile, his hands tried to find purchase on something, anything, but the waterlily stems all tore apart in his hands, and there was nothing to find purchase on in the muck. His lungs were starting to burn, and Deuce feared what would happen if he was pulled towards the center of the lake. In desperation, he tried to grab his pen again, managing to grip it this time. Without thinking Deuce sent a blast of cosmic energy towards his attacker.

The magic found its target and Deuce was freed from it's grasp. Quickly, Deuce kicked backwards and up so that he could breach the surface. He took in desperate gulps of oxygen as he made to head to shore again, only to find a pair of arms snaring him around the waist. Instead of being pulled down though, Deuce felt himself being squeezed with a pressure that was just short of vice like.

He could feel a face leaning against his shoulder, a chin resting against his shoulder, wet hair plastered against Deuce's cheek.

Deuce's hand was grasping his magic pen, but he couldn't move it, and his mind was scrambling for a spell he could blast without hurting himself, until a familiar sounding voice interrupted him.

"Well now…. What are you doing here?" The voice was deep and rich, but sounded strained.

"Leech-senpai?" Deuce craned his head around, seeing that it was indeed Jade Leech in his merform even though something about his expression was different. Somehow it reminded him of the other Leech twin, Floyd. Something wild and unhinged, but that couldn't be right? Jade Leech was dangerous but always composed.

"Who else would it be?" Jade said sharply.

"Right," Deuce said slowly, trying to collect his thoughts. His first instinct was to be angry that he'd nearly drowned. But a small part of him was relieved because it was just one of the Leeches. So this was just a mean-spirited prank. Granted, it was very mean-spirited even for Jade Leech. But Jade probably hadn't mean to kill him. Right? "Senpai, if this is a joke, it's not a funny one."

"What makes you think it's a joke?" Jade whispered into his ear, leaning close enough that Deuce could feel the spines of his ear fin scraping against his skin.

"I…" Oh no. He was going to die.

"Just kidding," Jade said as he let go of Deuce. Deuce felt his chest unclench and quickly swiveled around while putting some space between him and Jade. The expression on Jade's face quenched any illusion of safety Deuce had. Normally, when Jade said something awful and then followed it up with "just kidding," there would be a bright smile on his face. But this time, there was something in his gaze that was heated. It wasn't anger, but it left a queasy feeling in the pit of Deuce's stomach.

"What are you doing out here?" Jade asked sharply, and Deuce looked around, remembering what he was doing. Glancing back, he saw his bag floating on top of the lilies. Jade's gaze followed, and he gave a short, dry laugh. "Ah, after the flowers? Are you making a vitality potion?"

"Yeah," Deuce said, wishing he could stop treading water. "I should go finish-"

He was cut off as Jade's hand shot out and grabbed his wrist. Deuce looked back to see that Jade had closed in once again. Deuce tried to pull his hand away, only to find Jade's grip unyielding. "Stay," Jade said sharply, and Deuce paused.

Deuce could feel panic rising in his chest and blurted out the first thing that came to his mind. "Don't eat me!"

Jade's eyes went wide and his grip loosened, though not enough to let Deuce go. A weary smile crossed Jade's face. "Oh… Deuce-kun, you've misread the situation," Jade grabbed his other wrist and drew Deuce in closer. "This is the only kind of devouring I need right now."

Before Deuce could think to grab his magic pen again, he found a mouth covering his and froze in alarm and confusion. Was he going to be eaten face first-

-wait? Why were Jade's lips so soft against Deuce's? Gentle, yet eager like a kiss in a movie?

…a kiss?

Jade Leech was kissing him? Confusion and alarm ran through Deuce's head as the other continued kissing him, tongue brushing against Deuce's lips. Jade then pulled away and tilted Deuce's chin up, a motion that wasn't gentle at all. Deuce tried to pull away, only to find his arm fighting, nails digging into his skin.

"What are you doing?" Deuce snapped, which caused Jade's eyes to widen a fraction.

"Mating with you," Jade said, causing Deuce's mind to blank as the other kissed him again, this time giving his lips a sharp nip. "I had been trying to spend mating season alone, but now that you're here, I'm not going to let you get away." And Deuce found his mouth being devoured again as his mind started short-circuiting in confusion.

Mate? Mating season? The words didn't make any sense, even though Deuce knew what they were. Mating means coupling together.....Mating season was the time when animals coupled together because of their instincts. So Jade had a mating season. And he wanted to mate and was going to mate with Deuce. So that's what was going on.

Oh dear.

Damn.

Fuck.

Deuce raised his free hand and punched Jade square in the jaw. The other's head twisted back, and Deuce tried to fumble for his magic pen only to realize it wasn't on him. It must have fallen during their earlier conflict. Deuce had just learned the spell for locating it and was about to try and chant it, only to have Jade grip his throat tightly.

"Oh, Deuce-kun, are you looking for your pen? Don't worry, I'll find it for you after we join together. I'll do so much for you after this. Doesn't that sound wonderful?"

"You're insane-" Deuce choked as his throat was gripped even more tightly.

"Stop being such a little brat!" Jade hissed, his expression murderous enough that Deuce's heart stopped. "I was supposed to be alone here! But now that someone has appeared in front of me, I'm not letting them out of my sight. Ever."

Insane! Deuce thought to himself as he tried to breath and began to evaluate what he should do. He couldn't fight Jade in the water; he knew that much. Putting aside the other's superior mobility, Jade was much bigger and stronger than him. Deuce probably wouldn't win without magic either. Magic without a pen? Against Jade, who was a second year? Not without a lot of risk. Since coming to this school, Deuce had learned that it was a miracle he'd never overblotted during middle school.

Deuce had experienced enough overblots to know he didn't want that for himself. And he didn't want that for Jade, who also seemed penless. Even if the bastard was being a weird, deranged creep. More so than usual.

As he was thinking, Deuce felt something run across his neck and realized that Jade had started licking him across the throat, causing shivers to run down Deuce's spine. Maybe he should play along for now and wait for Jade to let his guard down. Which shouldn't take long, since it was obvious the other wasn't in his normal state of mind. When it came to situations like this, Deuce could be smart, more so than others gave him credit for.

He let his body relax and slowly looped an arm around Jade for balance. The other stopped what he was doing and looked Deuce in the eye. "You finally understand, don't you?"

"Yeah, sure… Just… be gentle," Deuce said, knowing that he was asking for something stupid. The heat in Jade's eyes meant to consume him completely.

"Don't worry, Deuce, I'll give you my all. Not just now, but forever," Jade said as he nipped at Deuce's throat, causing him to flinch. He then felt Jade sucking the same spot. It was awkward being like this in the water, the heat of Jade's tongue and breath a contrast to everything else. How did Jade plan on making this work when they were bobbing up and down in the water like this?

As if sensing Deuce's question, one of Jade's hands let go of him and reached for the zipper of Deuce's tracksuit and started to tug at it, only for it to catch. "Curses," Jade hissed and gave it a few more hard yanks.

"I have it," Deuce said as he took a moment to fumble with the zipper. It took a few tugs due to the waterlogged fabric causing the zipper to stick, but Deuce managed to free it. Jade didn't wait and started to slide the uniform off his shoulders and chest, till Deuce's upper body was only covered in the red t that was part of Heartslabyul's gym uniform. He shivered as Jade's eyes roved his body.

"Wonderful," Jade sighed. "Are you a bit cold? Or tired?"

"Yeah, because I've been treading water in a lake," Deuce said. It felt like forever even though everything was happening so fast. Dangerous situations were usually like that.

Jade snickered, his cruelty showing through. "You're so cute, all pale and tired like that, but I do want you to last through all of this," Jade said as he looped an arm around Deuce and started to pull him a little closer to shore. Deuce felt his feet touch the lake bed and as they moved closer to shore. Closer to freedom.

Deuce could bolt if he wanted to. No, he had to; otherwise, he wasn't going to have the energy to make it the rest of the way. His thoughts were interrupted when Jade grabbed Deuce's tracksuit and yanked so hard that he pulled Deuce down. Deuce fell underwater and during that time Jade managed to wrangle the rest of the uniform off, leaving him in his t-shirt and boxer briefs. Deuce broke the surface as soon as he could and tried to twist around and make a break for it, only to have Jade loop an arm around him and pull Deuce flush against his body.

"Naughty, naughty Deuce-kun. You said you were going to play around," Jade's teeth were so close to Deuce's throat that he was afraid to breathe. "You're lucky I don't rip your throat out. Unless that is what you're after?"

"No," Deuce said through clenched teeth, knowing his neck was on the line right now. Literally.

"Good," Jade said. "Though I'm still miffed that you would throw my careful consideration in my face like that," he said as he glanced around and then muttered a spell. Before Deuce had time to think, the vines of the various lilies and other plants started to wind around Deuce's wrists, pinning them behind him. Jade let go of Deuce and moved back as he watched him.

"Heh, I should have done this from the beginning. I was being too kind."

"You call this shit kind!?" Deuce snapped. "You're insane!"

"I am," Jade said bluntly, the hungry expression on his face shining through. "It's taking all my willpower not to do worse to you," he said. "I'm fighting with all my might," Jade's voice had a slight waver to it. "But I'm not willing to hold back completely. Both of us are just… unfortunate souls."

Jade swam close and let his hands drift low so that they were brushing against Deuce's boxers, cupping over the front. He began to stroke the front lightly. Deuce felt himself tense and squirm. He'd never been touched there by anyone save himself, and despite his anger, fear, and frustration, there was something else awakening inside of him. Deuce bit the inside of his cheek as if to clamp down on that forbidden feeling.

"Relax," Jade said as he gripped Deuce a little more firmly. "I'm trying to make this a little enjoyable for you."

"Don't even bother," Deuce hissed between his teeth as Jade pulled the waistband of his boxers away. "I'm not going to enjoy it."

"…your body's reaction is saying otherwise," Jade said as he gripped Deuce's length for a second, running his hand over it. Deuce didn't have to look to know he was half hard. But having Jade state it like that flooded him with shame, and despite the cold water, Deuce felt himself burning up.

"Just… do it. Whatever you're going to do." He'd rather Jade fuck him than this. This was torture.

"…you're so adorable," Jade said as he ducked his head underwater and Deuce could feel his boxers pulled off the rest of the way, leaving Deuce in nothing but his t-shirt. Jade surfaced and looked up at him, his expression eager. "You're very impressive. But, you're not the only one who needs to get on with it, so I shall indulge you later."

Jade slotted his body between Deuce's legs and looked down between them and then at Deuce. "I need you to remain calm."

"H-how am I supposed to-"

"If you don't want it to hurt when I enter you... " Jade trailed off, and it took Deuce a second to get his meaning.

"Why do you fucking care about that?" Deuce hissed through his teeth, irritated.

"Oh my, is my reputation that terrible?" Jade's face split into that strange, toothy grin he always wore. The one that looked slightly pained, as if he'd been practicing forever and still couldn't get any closer to a human expression.

Then Jade sighed as he pressed in close, so that Deuce could feel his entrance being prodded. "But I guess I am asking a lot of you in this moment. " A lot? Despite himself, a laugh bubbled up from Deuce, and Jade raised an eyebrow. "Oh, you think I'm insincere?"

"Stop. I can't take it anymore." Sometimes you weren't going to avoid a punch. When that happened, it was best to just take it on the chin, either literally or metaphorically.

"You make it so tempting to toy with you," Jade said and then pressed against Deuce with a slow, but inexorable force that made him gasp. "But I am not in the mood or state of mind for that, despite my friendly demeanor."

There's nothing friendly about this, Deuce thought to himself as he felt the intrusion of Jade's length. He forced himself to calm down, to try and accept it. But it still felt uncomfortable, verging on painful, and he knew his eyes were watering.

"Damn," Deuce cursed as he felt Jade stop and realized that he was pressed as tight against Deuce as possible. Deuce tried to look down, and while it was awkward from the angle they were at, he could tell they were completely joined together. Merged as one. "Fuck…" His body was trembling, and his stomach was tensing from the sensation. If this had been under different circumstances…

Deuce felt Jade lean in and place a kiss on his forehead. He opened his eyes to see the other looking down on him, eyes shining. Madness and something softer mingled in his gaze. "And now we are one," Jade said as he began to move his hips, causing shudders to pulse through Deuce's body. "Ahhh, I want to have all of you," Jade said as he picked up his pace.

The way Jade pounded into him felt terrible and amazing all at once, and Deuce hated the way he was gasping and moaning. Maybe it was because a part of him had always wondered what it would be like to be taken like this. But his fantasies had always involved ideal circumstances. Instead, he was being ravaged in a cold lake by a creature that was barely rational. It was infuriating, yet also…

Before Deuce could fight the direction of that thought, he felt Jade's mouth against his neck, sharp teeth about to tear into his flesh. Something in Deuce's mind screamed this was a bad idea. Which was absurd, because what was the rest of this? But he made a futile effort to try and kick Jade, which resulted in nothing more than a sad nudge with his knee. But something about that gave the eel pause, causing his teeth to stop short of breaking skin, and he raised his head, eyes locking with Deuce.

There was something bloodthirsty in them, cold, and quiet, like one of those movies you saw involving a killer shark. Slowly, recognition seemed to seep in, and he pulled back and sighed. "Thank you for that," Jade said, and for a minute, he seemed calm, as if he would stop.

Instead, Jade continued to move, and Deuce felt himself mentally relax, somehow knowing he'd avoided the point of no return. Whatever that might be. As if they weren't already past the point of normalcy. There was no way that Deuce could go back to his normal life after this, not when Jade had violated him so thoroughly. Deuce felt as if his nerves were being overwritten as he began to feel more and more pleasure and sensation at what was happening. Each thrust was shaking him to his core, bringing him closer to orgasm.

And Jade was moving harder, as if to compensate for the ache in his teeth. The only sounds around them were the lapping and splashing of the water, the muted impact of Jade's thrusts, and their panting and breathing, desperate and hungry all at once. One particularly hard thrust of Jade's finally caused Deuce to go over the edge, his whole body lost in the sensation as he came. It emanated throughout him, and Deuce wished his hands weren't bound, because he desperately wanted to clutch onto something.

"Fuck," Deuce hissed through his teeth, taking in deep breaths, even as the sensation didn't completely ebb away, being reignited with Jade's every move. Deuce half wanted him to keep going and half wanted him to stop so he could get off this roller coaster ride. "Damn!"

"Ah, was it that good?" Jade asked with a sigh as he continued to move, sending jolts through Deuce's body with each thrust. "I'm jealous."

"S-shut up," Deuce said, humiliation settling in along with the feeling of warmth and pleasure and small shivers up and down his spine. That he'd let himself get carried away like that was the worst part so far.

"Rude," Jade said with a slam of his hips, his body stilling as he shuddered. Deuce could feel something warm release inside of him as Jade found his own orgasm. It was strange, and if Deuce wasn't exhausted, he might have lost his mind. The look on Jade's face as he came down from that high was contentment and relief, mingling with that barely buried look of mania. It was infuriating and erotic all at once. It made Deuce wonder what it might be like if their positions were reversed and…

His thoughts were interrupted as he felt a wave of exhaustion hit him and a damp, clawed hand on his face. He opened his eyes to see Jade gazing at him, passive and gentle. As if he was looking at his favorite toy, the collectible no one else was allowed to touch. "It might be the hormones, but I never realized how precious you are until now."

"You can't… blame this on hormones," Deuce said, feeling himself yawn. Why did he feel like he could fall asleep? He didn't trust Jade in this moment. But something about the lapping of the waves amidst the after glow suffusing his body and Jade's gentle touch was calming.

"There's a lot I have to tell you," Jade said softly as he softly kissed Deuce's lips. "Because this is forever."

"Forever? What is?" But exhaustion must have claimed him, because Deuce didn't hear what Jade said.

Deuce woke up, found himself curled up in thick, white blankets, the smell of antiseptic in his nose. Opening his eyes, he could see the ceiling of the nurse's office, an all too familiar sight. He was propped up on some pillows, and someone had taken the effort to put him in his pajamas. Looking to the side, he saw Ace sitting, looking at his phone absentmindedly.

"Ace? What's going on?" Deuce murmured, feeling his body aching, especially below.

Ace jolted and nearly dropped his phone. "Shit! You're awake!"

"Yeah…" Deuce said, looking around. How did he even get here?

"Damn, I'm going to message the housewarden. He made me sit here with you."

"Riiight," Deuce said, knowing that Ace hadn't been made to do anything. Despite what his fellow student said, Ace was a big worrywart. He watched as Ace shot off a text message before pocketing his phone.

"Man, when Jade-senpai said he found you half-drowned in the lake, everyone freaked. But the doctor said you didn't have any water in your lungs, so…"

Jade brought him in? Deuce frowned, feeling a flicker of irritation surge through him. So that's how the other was going to play it. It sounded like no one knew what had really happened, which was a relief, but something about it didn't sit right with Deuce either.

"…you're lucky that Jade-senpai was out there," Ace said as he scratched the back of his neck. "So you should make sure to say thanks to him. He's in trouble because he was cutting classes for some reason and wasn't around for roll call the last few days, but they lightened his sentence a little. Should have just let him off for doing a good deed."

"I… see," Deuce said as he rubbed the back of his neck, feeling a twinge of heat. Irritation and other uncomfortable thoughts were mingling together. The idea that Jade had brought him back here and everyone thought he'd saved Deuce's life instead of putting him in danger was absurd. That man had put him through the worst experience of his life, and Deuce was supposed to thank him? What the hell?

"Hey man, you okay?" Deuce turned to see a look of concern on Ace's face and shook his head.

"Just… tired is all."

"…kay," Ace said. "But I'm going to get the doc, and Riddle and Trey are going to come see you soon, so you just hang tight. And don't go drowning yourself in a lake again," Ace forced a cheeky smile onto his face.

For once, Deuce didn't have it in him to get angry or laugh at the other's jokes. Instead, his mind was taken up with other thoughts. Slick skin, sharp teeth, and pain and pleasure…

It was still haunting him, even though it felt like a distant memory. Jade wasn't going to get away with this.

Notes:

I'm not quite sure where I'm going with this one or if I'll do more, but it was meant as an experiment.
