Chapter Text
“Anything you two wanted to tell me?” Fiyero asks, interrupting the girls’ walk. A smirk on his lips that oozed trouble.
Elphaba and Galinda look at each other in sync with matching expressions of confusion.
“I don’t believe so,” Galinda answers honestly, her lips forming the slightest pout.
“Oh, come on, I already knowwww. I may have overheard some…things,” he waggles his eyebrows suggestively.
“Please, do tell. What things did you hear?” Elphaba asks dryly, looking wholly uninterested.
“Oh, don’t play coy, I stopped by your room last night. Just a heads up, the dorms are not exactly soundproof,” Fiyero says with a wink, looking so insanely smug.
“What?” The same word escapes the girls’ mouths, but in wildly different tones. Elphaba, ever studious, looks more confused than he has ever seen her. Her brows furrow, her lips turn slightly downwards, and her eyes search his face like she’s skimming a textbook for answers. Galinda, however, the always confident golden girl, looks more nervous than he’s ever seen her. Her doe eyes go even larger than normal and her cheeks grow darker than her baby pink dress.
In hindsight, he should’ve waited a clocktick. Taken in their conflicting expressions before speaking. Unfortunately, Fiyero’s brain is much slower than his mouth, and in that moment of brainlessness, he does a crude impression that he will later very very very much regret.
“Oh, Elphie! Please, Elphie, fuck!” he moans out, thinking they are all still partaking in some light teasing. His chuckle dies in his throat as Galinda lets out a sharp squeak and runs away faster than he’s seen anyone move in heels.
He turns towards Elphaba, confused, and when he sees her look of absolute shock, the gunked up gears in his head start turning.
“I-I uh…I wasn’t at the dorm last night,” Elphaba breathes out. Never in a million years would she take Fiyero’s teasing seriously, but by Galinda’s reaction, she doesn’t think she has much of a choice.
“What? She was just alone, moaning your na-…oh,” Fiyero drops his bravado and blushes, something Elphaba didn’t think the crass prince was capable of.
“Yes…oh,” Elphaba repeats with a blush of her own.
“So she was…” he trails off.
“Uh…it seems so,” she avoids eye contact.
“While thinking about…”
Elphaba coughs and blushes even harder if possible.
“And I just told you…straight to your face…in front of her,” Fiyero puts the pieces together and the blush is gone. In fact, all the color seems to drain from his face. Elphaba would find it amusing if her head wasn’t reeling with the information she’s attempting to process. “I-I think we’re all caught up,” her voice takes on a pitch unfamiliar to her own ears.
“She’s gonna kill me,” Fiyero begins to pace, his hands pulling at his hair. “Hell, she deserves to kill me. Sh-should we go after her?” He turns to Elphaba, looking almost crazed with the scared look in his eyes paired with his always perfect hair sticking up in every direction.
“No, I’ll go. I think you’ve done enough for today,” she pats him lightly on the shoulder in a halfhearted attempt to calm him. She has a few more pressing issues swirling through her head at the moment.
“I’m really really sorry, I-“
“Fiyero, save your apologies for her, okay? Because she really does deserve to kill you.”
“I didn’t mean to-“
“I know, but I have to go, okay?” she gives him one last awkward slap to his arm and starts in the direction Galinda fled. Before she makes it too far, she turns back to Fiyero. “The art shop in town closes in a few hours,” Elphaba holds back an eye roll at his confused look and continues, “They may or may not have some very high quality, very expensive oil pastels that Galinda insists she doesn’t need. Maybe there’s something a very wealthy and very sorry prince can do with that information.” She looks at him with raised eyebrows until his head starts nodding like a flicked bobblehead. She throws him one sharp nod and turns on her heel to find Galinda.
Elphaba has absolutely no idea how this is going to go, but as she makes her way through the halls, she can’t help the smile that tugs at her lips. She feels warmth take over her cheeks as the information starts to sink in. Galinda likes me. Galinda wants to kiss me too. Galinda apparently wants to more than kiss me. The warmth on her face begins to spread lower and, without realizing, her legs start moving faster and faster until she’s just about sprinting towards their dorm.
Elphaba prays to find Galinda there. For one, it makes it easier for her if she’s the first place she looks, and two…well, she wouldn’t hate to have this conversation in close proximity to a bed.
Notes:
this is currently the most scandalous thing i’ve written, so i’m not sure how explicit this is gonna get. i just couldn’t get this idea out of my head, so i had to write it. it will at the very least get slightly steamy in the next chapter. i’ve never done anything very smutty before, but if people want it, i will try my best.

Chapter Text
Galinda slams the door closed and immediately leans her back against it, chest rising and falling rapidly. She would say she’s trying to catch her breath, but at the present moment she’s not sure she wants to. She would much prefer her breath to leave her entirely, then she wouldn’t have to face Elphaba after Fiyero opened his big, stupid mouth.
Galinda is positively certain that she’s ruined everything. Elphaba was never supposed to find out about her liking girls and she definitely wasn’t supposed to find out about Galinda liking her. She thinks of her Momsie and Popsicle, they warned her about this. It is exactly why she was meant to have a private suite. They said a roommate could bring back her “impure thoughts” and distract her from finding a husband. From the beginning, Galinda thought Elphie was beautiful, it’s why she tried to push her away. She didn’t expect Elphaba to push right back, to grow on her like a weed that she tries to yank out but just grows back stronger every time. The closer they became, the worse Galinda’s thoughts got.
She guesses she won’t have to worry too much about that anymore because Elphaba will surely request to switch dorms. It’s then that Galinda remembers her room, her safe place that she ran to for cover, is also Elphaba’s. She knows this is exactly where she will come to look for her, so she needs to be anywhere but here.
Galinda’s escape plan is made pointless when she opens the door and Elphaba is there. Standing right in front of her, more out of breath than Galinda has ever seen her, with a light sheen of sweat across her gorgeous, green skin. Galinda hates herself for it, but her first thought is Wow, she’s stunning.
“Elphaba! Hi! Funny seeing you here!” she says much louder than necessary with a laugh that isn’t fooling either of them. “I would love to stay and chat but, places to go, people to see. You know how it is, bye!” She attempts to sneak past her, but Elphaba lifts her hands to either side of the doorframe, blocking her path.
“Galinda, can we please talk?” Elphaba’s voice is much gentler than she was expecting.
“What’s there to talk about?” Galinda asks, playing dumb.
Elphaba shoots her a look and it’s not the first time that Galinda has regretted teaching the girl how to talk with her eyebrows.
“Oh, that! Fiyero is so silly, isn’t he? Quite the imagination on that one,” she attempts to wave her off.
“Galinda…” Elphie is looking a her so sweetly that she breaks.
“I-I…Oz, Elphie I’m so sorry,” Galinda cries as she buries her head in her hands.
“Hey, it’s okay,” Elphaba tries to soothe as she steps inside their room and closes the door behind her. She guides Galinda a little further inside and starts to rub circles on her back.
“Okay? How can it possibly be o-okay? I’m a- I’m a lesbian, Elphie. I’m not n-normal…I’m wrong,” Galinda sniffles.
“Hey, you are not wrong and who says what is and isn’t normal? Did you know that it is quite common in Munchkinland to be attracted to the same sex?”
“R-really?” Galinda asks quietly while wiping her tears.
“Really. Even my father, terrible as he is, never had a problem with me being attracted to boys and girls,” Elphaba reveals casually.
“Ugh, do not bring up that despicable man. Wait, what? Y-you?” Galinda gapes.
“Yes, I like girls too,” Elphaba says, smiling at the mix of shock and hope on Galinda’s face.
She seems to attempt to shake the hope out of her head as she remembers what Elphie knows. Galinda’s eyes drop to the floor and Elphaba barely hears her as she mutters, “I’m still sorry f-for thinking of you…while I,” she gets even quieter, “touched myself.”
“You don’t have to apologize,” Elphaba says matter of factly.
“Yes I do!” Galinda counters.
“Well, then I should be even more sorry, at least you waited until I was gone,” Elphie says with a blush on her cheeks.
“Wait, you…” Galinda’s eyes go wide and her pupils dilate, “while I was in the room?”
“Y-yes?” Elphaba says shyly.
“Oz, Elphie that’s so hot,” Galinda couldn’t wait any longer, she surges forward and captures Elphaba’s lips with her own. Elphaba is surprised at first, but she has always been a quick learner. She meets Galinda’s intensity and their hands are exploring each other’s bodies with such haste you would think they had a time limit. Remembering they have all the time in the world, Elphaba slows them down. They are exchanging short little pecks until Elphaba’s kisses drift from Galinda’s lips up her cheek until her lips meet Galinda’s ear.
“You know when Fiyero said what he overheard?” Elphaba whispers in a sultry voice Galinda has never heard before.
“Y-yes, Elphie, it was rather m-morftifying…b-believe it or not,” she breathes out, doing her best to keep her voice even as Elphaba nibbles on her earlobe.
“It was mortifying,” her lips meet Galinda’s neck, “hearing Fiyero moan my name.” She kisses down Galinda’s throat, her mouth opening a little more the further down she goes. “Especially the name that’s only yours to use. I’d much rather hear it from your mouth than his,” Elphaba rasps and Galinda is surprised she’s still standing.
