You’ll never fill your cup

Summary:

Alastor tries to have a moment to himself after the climatic ending of season two but is visited by Rosie who’s curious on the radio Demons next move

Work Text:

“Hear my hope” a statement made by hell as the strongest united their souls in an attempt to shield the wicked from a weapon of divinity. As they celebrated their success and grew closer as a people one of those souls that lended their strength had slinked away.

Arriving at the Hazbin Hotel the radio demon shadow walked to his room only leaving the shroud of darkness once he had escaped all prying eyes.
He took a moment to take in his surroundings for he had been away for sometime. The smells and sounds of his bayou were calming unlike those of the Vee's tower which were an insult upon the senses.

Alastor still felt a little dizzy from all those flashing lights or perhaps it was from the blood he was actively losing from his arm

“Fucking shark dog thing” Alastor grumbled as he examined his arm “biting me…ME..” Al’s arm began to glow a green hue as he summoned his magic, green stitchings appearing pulling the wound close and sealing it not even leaving a scar

“Scar”

Alastor walked over to his mirror undoing the buttons on his shirt unveiling the scar he was given courtesy of Adam’s exorcist axe that nearly sliced him in two

He spent the last few months doing all he could with what limited power he had to heal it but he’s at full strength now and with a gleeful grin, he summoned that great power again, finally fully healing his wound

“Better?” Rosie‘s voice echo from the doorway

“As if you cared” Alastor replied coldly as he summoned a bottle of whiskey and a small glass with a snap

“I cared but you had to learn a lesson” Rosie said with motherly liked demeanor
“You’ve been acting recklessly for far too long dear”

Alastor began to pour “reckless? RECKLESS”
Alastor‘s whole body tensed up, if he wasn’t so in control, he would’ve shattered the glass in his hand
“You promised me great power, but never spoke of limitations”

Rosie snickered “so clever, but so blinded by hubris… always assume there’s a bigger fish honey”

“Not for long” Alastor stated as he down the glass of whiskey in one go. He missed the taste and rush… a vice he was not allowed to indulgence in while in the company of the Vees despite Vox's many offers

“You're plotting something aren’t you?” Rosie inquired with a slight eyebrow raised

“Aren’t I always?” Alastor laughed

“You played every card you had just to get back to where you started” Rosie said with a mocking tone

“Mear prelude” Alastor smile grew as he discarded of the glass and bottle “and I promise when the show begins proper, I’ll make sure that you’ll have a front row seat to the main event”
Alastor ‘s eyes turned to dial as he locked in on Rosie‘s
Suddenly, the radio In Alastor’s room began to radiator a golden glow

“You will fuck it up” Alastors head snapped over to the radio as he heard his own voice coming out of it
“You’ll never fill your cup” Alastor gripped his cane tight trying to regain control of the radio
“you’re broken from the start no victory will ever be enough”
Eldridge powers swirled around Alastor as he put everything he had into the radio, causing it to explode

“You should really take your own advice my pet” Rosie gloated

“You should leave now before I have to explain to Charlie who’s entrails I’ve spread across the hotel” Alastors blood was boiling how dare his own words be used against him!?

“Hmmm ok just thought I’d give you a little advice before you go and get yourself killed” Roise then turned around and walked away closing the door behind her.
Alastor sat in silence for quite awhile as he repaired his radio but not with his powers

“She’s right…” he spoke aloud to no one but his own shadow
“I could stop here… be content with power rivaled by no sinner… and enjoy the entertainment this place provides”

Alastor’s shadow grew for the darkness within him was not satisfied

Alastor’s half repaired radio then shot to life
“once I figure out how to unclip my wings guess who will be pulling all the strings”
The distorted recording played as Alastor laughed

“The only way to lose the game is to stop playing.. I may have already played some good cards, but it’s about time I reshuffle the deck”
