Chapter Text
Jason and Roy made their way to the Council Chamber, Cody and Rex walking steadily in front of them, Boil and Waxer behind. Jason smirked at the familiarity. The large double doors opened as soon as they made it down the corridor, the Coruscant skyline illuminating the circular chamber with its thousands of twinkling lights. Cody, Rex, Waxer, and Boil filed into the room, standing off to the side as Jason and Roy headed towards the center.
It was a full room; additional chairs had been brought in for everyone other than the Jedi Council Members. Skywalker, Amidala, and Tano were sitting together, a few paces away from Kenobi. The dark-haired Senator, Bail Organa, if Jason remembered correctly was seated next to Kenobi as well. Various clones were posted behind their Jedi Generals and Master Che was seated beside Windu, eyeing the man critically.
“Glowing again, the kyber crystal is,” Master Yoda stood next to a pedestal with the orb perched on top, “home, you must go.”
Jason’s helmet and various weapons were stacked next to the pedestal, Roy’s bow and quiver leaning up against it. No movement was made for the items yet.
“We owe you both a debt which can never be repaid,” Windu stated from what looked to be a hovering medical chair.
As one, the surrounding clones snapped to attention, forearms braced against their chests, fists over their hearts. Jason and Roy looked around the room, making eye contact with each supposedly identical face. Their military dress uniforms were pristine, and clearly rarely if ever worn.
“You did not have to get dressed up for us,” Roy smiled.
“It was the least we could do,” the Commander standing behind Koon, Wolffe, spoke up.
“Grateful to the Force, we are, that it brought you here,” Master Yoda bowed. The Jedi able to stand did so, following suit. Jason’s knees locked where he stood, never comfortable with receiving this level of gratitude.
“The Republic also thanks you,” Bail Organa stood, making his way to stand before Jason and Roy.
“I cannot offer you any medals or awards for your service, as you appear in no records,” the Senator’s dark eyes flitted over to Kenobi, light with amusement, “but know this, should you ever find your way to us again, you will have a friend in Alderaan.”
Jason nodded and held out his hand, Organa reaching forward to clasp his wrist with a firm grip. Organa turned to clasp hands with Roy before moving to sit back down next to Kenobi. The two men sharing a slight smile.
Jason turned to look at Ahsoka, bright blue eyes already fixed on him. He beckoned her forward after a brief hesitation. He felt something stirring in his gut, a sense he learned to listen to a long time ago.
“If you ever find yourself on a planet called Earth, in a city named Gotham,” Jason began, a slight smile tugging at his lips, “find your way to Metropolis and call out for Superman.”
A chuckle left Roy as he moved past Jason, strong arms wrapping around Ahsoka. Blue eyes widened over Roy’s shoulder, before she brought her arms up, hands splayed across Roy’s back.
“That actually goes for any of you,” Roy smiled as he pulled back, green eyes cast around the chamber, “Superman or Wonder Woman. But, seriously, stay out of Gotham.”
Master Plo Koon stood next, taking Roy’s hands in his claws. Jason turned, leaving his friend to say his goodbye. He moved to the pedestal, bending down to pick up his gear and weapons, strapping everything on. Jason picked up his helmet last, turning to see Kenobi and Amidala behind him. A glance over their shoulders showed Roy, Koon, and the clones all banded together. Jason looked down, noticing the more pronounced bump on Amidala.
“It’s twins,” a soft smile fell over her face as a small hand caressed her stomach.
“They are bright and pure in the Force,” Kenobi didn’t stop the smile that came over his face.
“Thank you, Jason,” Amidala took his hand, placing it on her stomach, “thank you for saving him, saving them.”
Jason’s eyes burned, his throat clicked as he nodded, removing his hand as Amidala stepped back and turned to walk back to Skywalker.
“May the Force be with you,” Kenobi cupped Jason’s face, warmth spreading from the man’s palm to Jason’s cheek.
Roy came to stand beside Jason as Kenobi moved away, back to his chair. The archer had his bow and quiver slung along his back. Green eyes bright with tears.
“Good you are, good you will remain,” Master Yoda clacked his stick against the ground.
Jason felt a rush of gratitude suffuse him. He looked around the chamber one last time, eyes landing on the hunched form of Skywalker, Amidala’s consoling hand on the man’s knee.
“My family has a saying,” Jason’s voice caught, “well more of an answer to a question. What do we do when we fall?”
Skywalker’s wane face lifted, brows raising slightly as his lips trembled.
“We rise.”
Jason and Roy reached out; fingers linked as they reached for the glowing kyber crystal.

The eye watering light faded, Jason blinked, white dots blurring his vision. The ground felt solid beneath his feet. Roy’s hand was warm where it was clasped in his. Jason’s vision cleared; the stasis chamber was before them. Roy released Jason’s hand, stepping forward and placed the orb back in the soft light of the chamber.
A shout echoed through the cavern, a moment later a bright burning light collided with Roy. The archer was tackled to the ground before being lifted into the air.
“Hey Kori,” Jason grimaced, rubbing the back of his neck as Kori wrapped her arms around Roy, squeezing.
“By X’hal,” the Tamaranean exclaimed, dropping Roy, and turning her fiery gaze on Jason.
“Were you worried about us, princess?” Roy wheezed where he stood, hunched over.
“Do not be ridiculous,” Kori stated, arms loosely wrapping around Jason’s shoulders, fingers clutched in his jacket.
“At least wait for me next time,” Kori released Jason, brow furrowed as she scolded him. Jason huffed, flapping his hands towards Roy. A freckled hand lifted; middle finger stuck up towards Jason’s smirking face.
“Well, at least you made it back whole,” Kori nodded, brushing her hands along Jason’s shoulders, “I was so very close to calling in help.”
“We stopped a galactic war,” Roy smiled, “and freed a whole army of enslaved clones.”
“You truly should have waited for me,” Kori slapped Jason’s shoulder, hovering above the ground as she moved back towards Roy.
“Princess,” Jason shook his head, smiling as he moved with her, “they would not have been able to handle you.”
