Chapter Text
The moonlight lit the cobbled streets of a dark alleyway in Seoul. It was empty, well, it was supposed to be empty. I mean, why wouldn't it be empty at an oddly late time like 12:30? A shadow dashed out of its hiding spot from behind a concrete pillar. Its footsteps were light and soundless as the mysterious creature ran at the speed of light (or faster). All that could be seen were its bloodshot eyes contrasting against its black, shadow-like body. The 'whooshing' sound of the fabric was heard as the creature ran for its life. It was in a hurry to get somewhere or to get something.
When the shadow-like creature reached its designated destination, it slid in between 2 brick walls. The texture of the bricks were uncomfortable yet comforting against the creature's shadowy form. It was waiting for the perfect timing to jump out at the overweight watchman who held a jam-filled doughnut in one hand. He held a bunch of keys in his other hand and it looked as if the fat man was sound asleep. The shadow creature smirked to itself before coming out of its hiding spot and transforming into its human form.
A man with raven black hair stepped out of the shadows. He wore a black, velvet suit which was finished off with gold detailing. The suit was paired with shiny, black dress shoes and a pair of black aviators which looked as if they had caused a fortune, no doubt. The man was slim yet muscular with veins protruding through the thin material of his jacket sleeves. His thighs were muscular as well. It looked as if working out was all he did (although that could have very well been true). The man had a sharp jawline and fair skin that could've passed for snow or a sheet of paper. His eyes which were once bloodshot, had turned into a raven-black colour which could've doubled as a dark abyss, waiting to swallow you up whole.
The man then took graceful yet muscular steps towards the sleeping slob and tapped him sharply on the shoulder. The fat man woke up with a start and with dried up drool on his face. In other words, he was looking like a hot mess. "H-How may I he-elp you, sir?" the fat man stuttered, obviously intimidated by the shadow-man's presence. A shadow of a smirk graced the ravenette's defined features as he snatched the half-eaten pastry from the watchman's hand.
"I don't want much, really." the slender man said, taking a bite of the doughnut. He had a bit of a lilting Busan accent which was rather recognizable, but his voice also held something dangerous. The way he spoke and the way he carried himself was intimidating and quite a sight to behold. He made the oversized man cower. "Would you mind showing me to Jeongmae University?" the black-haired man asked, tilting his head slightly. The fat man nodded and scrambled to his feet in an instant. The light from a nearby streetlamp caught on his nametag, drawing the thin man's attention to the shining object.
Apparently, his name was Byung-joon.
"Byung-joon, hm? What an interesting name." the man hummed. Byung-joon's head snapped up in surprise, a slight pink tinting his chubby cheeks. After all, it wasn't every day that he got complimented by an individual as beautiful as the man in front of him. "O-Oh, um...thank you, sir." Joon stuttered, bowing his head slightly. "Should we go now?"
The thin man nodded slowly and followed the watchman to his car with soundless footsteps.

When they reached the front of the university, the thin man turned around to flash Byung-joon a wolfish grin. One that held animalistic tendencies and other dark things that any normal human would avoid thinking about (not that anything like that would come to mind anyways). "Thanks for bringing me here." the pale man said, tucking his hands into the pockets of his pants.
Byung-joon nodded nervously as he leaned awkwardly against his car. The car ride had been silent and the atmosphere had felt thick, almost suffocating. It had been uncomfortable to say the least. "I'm glad that I could be of assistance to you, sir." Joon replied with a slightly forced smile that made his double chin even more visible. The man returned the smile, although his was darker and more demonic.
"Good night, Byung Joon." the man said. The way the watchman's name rolled off his tongue was utterly torturous. It made Byung-joon shiver slightly. If it did anything other than that, it made him want to escape even more. "Good night to you to, sir." the watchman replied with an unsteady voice. In fact, he didn't feel very steady standing on his own feet right at that moment.
Just as Byung-joon was about to turn towards his car and make his great escape, he felt a sharp pain spread throughout his body. He fell to the ground and let out a strangled scream. It felt as if someone had taken a sledgehammer and smashed his bones from the inside. It was like he was no longer in his skin. He felt as if he was on fire. It only took a few seconds before Byung-joon's body went limp. It was like all of his bones had been removed and his skin was the only thing left.
Even though he looked...well...dead, the watchman was very much alive. He was experiencing so much pain that if he were to explain it, he would've sounded completely delirious. Before he knew what was happening, the pale man from just now appeared in front of him and sunk down to Byung-joon's side. His eyes were bloodshot and long, sharp fangs had replaced his canines. The watchman wanted to scream, wanted to get away, but he couldn't. He was paralyzed. Completely unable to control his own body.
The pale man had been way too perfect to be real. It was because he had never been a real human being. He had been one from the underworld all along. Choked sobs left the fat man's plump lips as he tried (and failed) to beg for his life. The pale man grinned evilly down at his prey. It was late and he was in dire need of a midnight snack.

That night, a young boy with strawberry-blonde hair was sitting at his desk in the dorm both he and his roommate shared. The first semester student sighed heavily as he continued to jot down notes for the class he was supposed to attend the next day.
As he wrote, he heard faint noises that sounded oddly like the yelling of a man. The pinkette furrowed his brows and stood up from his desk chair. The windows in the dorm were closed and the heavy curtains were drawn which was probably why the sound was so faint and muffled.
It definitely couldn't have been his imagination, he thought to himself. Despite his lack of sleep, the young boy was nothing short of awake. He blew out a puff of hot air and rubbed his eyes. Maybe he was imagining things. He suddenly felt as if his brain had been replaced by a large ball of cotton. The pinkette brought a fist up to his face and rubbed his tired eyes. His long fingers could barely be seen from under the long sleeves of his pale, pink pyjama shirt.
Groggily, the young boy decided to call it a night. He turned off the soft, yellow light that was produced by the desk lamp and put his text books and stationary items away. Then, he lifted up the soft fabric of his blanket and crawled into his bed, instantly letting sleep consume him entirely.
That night, the strawberry-blond intended to fall asleep to the sound of the spinning ceiling fan and the chirping of the crickets outside, but instead, he fell asleep to the faint yelling that he thought he was imagining.
That same night, a body was found on the campus of Jeongmae University. The only person who had witnessed the screams, was sound asleep and completely unaware of the commotion that was going on right behind his closed eyes.
