Summary
“We need to go,” he says seriously, and then, when he’s standing, “turn around.” Ranboo obliges; In the quiet dawn, Tommy throws on new clothes, hastily fastening his buttons.
“Go where?” Ranboo asks faintly as he works. “Do you have a plan? Do you know what you’re doing?” Tommy presses his lips into a thin line as he combs a hurried hand through his hair. No, he neglects to voice out loud, circling around to meet Ranboo’s eyes.
“I don’t know,” he says, and the magic string tied to his ribs, pulling him towards his door, calls him a liar inside his own head. He takes a breath, smothering the feeling he just can’t shake, and grabs his butler’s wrist. “Anywhere but here. Come on.”
or: Crown Prince Tommy fights for his right to a family beyond what Dream can give him. Over the hills and hundreds of miles away, a powerful family (comprised of one Phil Watson, one Wilbur Watson, and a bristling Technoblade) fights for their right to reclaim what has been stolen from them.

He turns the piece of paper over in his hands. Maybe it’s Phil, who’s been nothing but kind to him. Or Niki, he can get a good gift for Niki.
He opens the paper. He just hopes that it isn’t—

He reads it again, hoping he was just wrong. Nope. It definitely says ‘Tommy’.
Oooo-kay. Worst-case scenario.

He’d tried to hold pressure on the wound, but he’d resigned himself to his fate and merely stared up at the foggy London sky with a weak, disturbingly giddy smile on his face. He couldn’t shake the thought that he deserved this for the pain he brought his parents by running away, for how selfish he had been.
He just hoped the stuffed cow he’d just bought didn’t get ruined. He didn’t know why that was bothering him, in all honesty.
He didn’t think he would be making it out of this one. And to think he was only a block or two from his apartment complex.
