Izuku is still very young when he realises that he may very well outlive his mother.
That’s not unusual, as he’s seven and she’s thirty-two, but it isn’t even the twenty-five year age difference that will be the cause. No, Izuku thinks to himself as he watches the hour long news special on the TV, it probably won’t be because of old age at all.

Summary
Shouta sighs. It’s clear getting information from Midoriya is going to be like pulling teeth. “You say that Bakugou is the one bullying you, but your file states differently. What I saw today does align with what you’ve told me, but the paperwork tells a very different story.”
Midoriya remains silent.
“Midoriya,” Shouta raps out sternly, “I need you to work with me on this.”
Midoriya flinches at Shouta’s harsh tone and he mentally berates himself. He’s already figured out a teacher harmed Midoriya, he doesn’t need to be putting the teen further on guard.

Summary
Just as he’s weighing his very limited options he hears a soft scraping sound and a broken mewl, so he curiously turns his gaze back towards the cat-Only to feel his eye go wide when he sees it slowly dragging itself backwards towards Shouta, mouth clamped tightly around the corner of what appears to be his phone.
He can’t help but stare in disbelief, only snapping out of his stupor when the cat stumbles and lets out a pained huff. It curls in on itself and goes concerningly still, and after a few seconds Shouta realizes it’s letting out the faint rumble of a distressed purr.
Aizawa can't recall how he ended up injured in a dingy, dark alleyway, but at least he has the company of the weirdest cat he's ever seen.

Izuku’s mouth falls open, and he breathes out, exhaling under the power of his mind.
“I… I don’t want this. Please don’t make me do this, dad,” Izuku says, stammering under the thick weight of his tongue, not used to being able to speak under his own power after so long.
“It doesn’t matter what you want, Izuku. This is what you need to do, and that is help Tomura. To get rid of all those silly dreams of heroes.”
His father’s hand combs through his hair. Forcefully dyed white, once green. His father hadn’t liked the green, hadn’t liked how different Izuku looked from him. Once Izuku had argued, had struggled, but since his father had found that quirk… well. It didn’t matter how hard he struggled, as all his father had to do was ask. Ask, and Izuku was forced to obey.

There was a child standing in the middle of the park square. He had fluffy green hair, a smattering of freckles across his cheeks, and no adult in sight. His eyes were large and watery, and he looked as if he was about to burst into tears at any second.
It was Shouta’s day off. He just wanted to do some grocery shopping. The park was a convenient shortcut. He wasn’t responsible for the wellbeing of a random lost child.
But of course he couldn’t not help.

On his way to the convenience store, Aizawa Shouta cuts through a park and stumbles across a lost child with enormous green eyes. He describes his father as "really big" with yellow hair. Also he might be a hero. That part's a bit unclear. Now if Shouta could just find the man...

Toshinori meant to reveal his true identity to young Midoriya after testing the boy’s determination a little. But the longer the deception goes on, the more awkward it becomes.

"Ah, you've finally arrived," Toshinori's mouth said on its own. It was a strange thing for him to say. Though he was always impatient to see his charge, this was the regular time.
"Oh, sorry!" Midoriya said, "I didn't mean to keep you waiting."
Toshinori folded his hands in his lap and said nothing, waiting for Midoriya to sit down. This was a little disconcerting. He wanted to say that it was no trouble, that he hadn't been waiting on purpose, and that he had meant to get here early in order to make tea. The words wouldn't come.

They came across the link to his real name while they were — were investigating his death," Inko tells him, and Izuku doesn't mention the way her voice wavers and stumbles over the final words. He just moves his hand over to hers, slipping his fingers in-between and gripping it firmly. "His real name was Shimura Kotarou," Inko tells him, voice shaking with tears.
