There was no answer on the other line, no Mancunian accent to allay his fears. Dread crawled up Roy’s spine when he heard rustling, and then Jamie’s voice reached his ears, though distant and muffled.
“Get the fuck out!”
Roy hung up the phone, called 999 and prayed he wouldn’t get there too late.

Medwhump May Day 31- "I'm so sorry"
The bedroom is empty. Dennis’ bed is attentively made, the corners of the sheets crisp, like they haven't been slept in at all. Everything in his room is spotless and unusually detached from any kind of warmth or emotion. It's a vacant shell, hollowed out. A spectre of something once living but now long dead.
Mac scans it for proof, for clues, and all that his eyes land upon is the light spilling out from beneath the adjacent bathroom door.

Jack’s Dexcom malfunctioned last night. It happens sometimes, they say, like that erases the moment this morning where Lynette woke up beside him as always and found him limp, unresponsive. Like that erases her tears as she called 911, the tears that only increased in ferocity when she pricked his finger and found that his glucose levels were through the roof.

Medwhump May Day 29- Extended Hospital Stay
All Neela can think as she sits beside Coop's bed is that he looks small. Fragile. The blankets are pulled up to his shoulders, and he's curled on his side beneath them fast asleep. It's 2pm on a Thursday. He should be awake, hurrying round the hospital like usual wearing scrubs instead of a hospital gown, a stethoscope instead of ECG leads. That's exactly what he would have been doing three weeks ago.

After a slew of bad luck and recurring illnesses, Coop is in the hospital for longer than expected.
